From planning to execution, Deanne and her team were so great to work with! They provided excellent feedback, flexibility, utmost professionalism and a level of excitement towards our event that made it so contagious :) The custom drinks created with Kyle were so delicious and everyone raved about the food - from apps to dinner to outdoor s'mores and late night sliders. The historic elements of the Herrington elevated our wedding theme, and the layout was perfect. From indoor/outdoor areas as well as having a dance area completely separate from reception ((not having to break down tables to create a dance floor was a huge deal to us)) plus having a venue that isn't shared with another wedding on the same day allowed the staff to be fully present for us. Hands down, best venue! -

Deanne, Racquel and the staff at the Herrington gave us the wedding of our dreams! It was beyond all expectations we had and will be cherished forever. The staff was very professional and attended to my bride's every need without hesitation or even asking. The venue was beautiful, and the rooms were amazing! All of the food from appetizers to the late-night snacks were perfect. We can't wait to go back for our anniversary! -

I am so pleased with our experience getting married at the Herrington. From our first tour, Rose and Deanne felt like our best friends. It was an immediate choice for us. The space is obviously beautiful, checked all of our boxes - you can stay there, get married outdoors, beautiful scenery, fun dinner/dancing space etc. but more so, we felt like we'd be taken care of there. This team was professional from the get-go. Raquel always kept us up to date on the order, logistics, bookings, payments which helped us feel organized and we knew what we were expecting. Leading up to the wedding they asked thoughtful questions, got all the details and answered ours. But my favorite part of was that the day of ran perfectly. If anything went wrong, we sure didn't know about it! They allowed us to just be fully present, enjoying our day. The small touches that I so appreciate at the end of the night all of our gifts/cards were in our room and secured and the next morning everything was boxed up and ready to go for us. We didn't have to stay behind cleaning up and getting ourselves organized. That was priceless to us. They took care of us like family and were so thoughtful. I'll forever be thankful to this team and we'll be back every anniversary!

No detail was forgotten, no guest or concern overlooked: when a makeshift bustle was needed, they did it, moving folks from cocktail hour to dinner orchestrated smoothly, s’mores station was continuously stocked, staff and bartenders were phenomenal. The highest of expectations were surpassed - guests raving still about the food and space. Deanna and Racquel are truly masters of their trade, made our reception 100% stress free, and there are no others more trustworthy and all out wonderful to entrust your big day. The highest of recommendations all around for the Herrington! -

The Herrington Inn was the perfect venue for our wedding. It is absolutely beautiful. Our guests raved about their stay at the hotel and visiting Geneva. What you don’t see from photos online is the absolute powerhouse that coordinates all of it. Deanne, Racquel, and Rose have weddings down to a science. From our initial tour with Deanne we knew that we were in the right place. That sentiment held true throughout the wedding planning process. The groom and I sat at dinner on our wedding day and reflected on how happy we were that we found the team at The Herrington. Speaking of dinner, the food was outstanding. The service was top notch. We are still receiving compliments. Another part of our day worth sharing is the accommodation provided for my multiply handicapped brother. He’s already asking when we can go back. I’d highly recommend The Herrington to anyone and trust they and their guests would have the best experience. -

Deanne, Racquel, and Rose are the absolute BEST. They really take the time to get to know their clients and were super flexible with every decision throughout my wedding planning process. They are super regimented with how the wedding schedule flows, so they got your back no matter what! They always look out for their brides :) The food was amazing. We had the steak and shrimp as our main entree and it was DIVINE. I love how intimate and quaint the courtyard area is, especially by the Fox River as well. Perfect spot. The Herrington is just a timeless and elegant place overall. They also leave great lists of recommended vendors, so that helps out a lot with familiarity of The Herrington. Wish I could relive the day all over again. The Herrington will always hold a special place in my heart :) -

I cannot say enough good things about The Herrington! Our wedding experience from finding the venue to our wedding day was phenomenal. Geneva is such a nice town, our guests were able to stay at The Herrington and walk around downtown and check out the local spots. Not only is the Herrington a stunning setting with the courtyard ceremony looking right onto the water, but the plaza patio for cocktail hour and the reception space have so much character. The space here is perfect for both outdoor and indoor options, but the outdoor areas were perfect for us! We were lucky enough to do our entire wedding here (ceremony and reception) and it was perfect for our guest count, right around 100 people. I could not imagine what I would have done if we didn't have Deanne and Racquel on the wedding day, and every day leading up to our wedding. They were absolutely amazing from start to finish - so accommodating, professional and kind. I was a bride that visited the venue countless times and they always were happy to see us and answered all of my questions. They do anything and everything to make sure you are happy and the wedding goes smoothly. The staff here is also amazing. They serve the food with a white glove service and make sure you and your guests are happy all night long! The food here is amazing, our guests raved about it. Some wedding food is hit or miss, but all food here is top notch quality - the Hors d'oeuvres, soup, salad and main entrees all were delicious. I truly cannot say enough good things about this as our wedding venue and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested. 10 out of 10 experience all around! We had such a great experience, we said we wanted to do it all over again :) -

Summer Wedding at The Herrington
We truly had the BEST experience with our summer wedding at the Herrington. The staff made every step of the wedding planning process much easier and better than we could’ve imagined. The team is extremely attentive to detail and very responsive to questions along the way. They go above and beyond to ensure every detail for your special day is perfect. They worry about the little details so that you don’t have to. I would highly highly highly recommend the Herrington to anyone considering! -

Fairytale weekend at the Herrington
My husband and I could not have been happier that we chose the Herrington for our wedding reception venue. From the start, Deanne, Racquel, and Rose were responsive and always happy to answer any of our questions. They’re pros and made the whole day run smoothly. Guests wouldn’t stop talking about how nice the venue looked and how well taken care of they felt. You cannot get better service or better value anywhere else in Geneva. Thank you for the most magical December wedding. Bravo, Herrington!

I can’t say enough about how fabulous our event was at The Herrington. Deanne and Racquel were wonderful to work with, extremely prompt with communication and beyond patient with my constant questions and last-minute changes. The day of the event was perfection down to the smallest detail: the room was absolutely beautiful and the food was fantastic - I think almost every single guest commented on how delicious their meal as well as the mouth-watering appetizers. The cake, which was from local bakery The Mad Batter and included in the package, was amazing. Rose and her wait-staff were professional, yet very pleasant throughout the evening as they tended to our every need and request, as was Racquel, who was there until the very end, overseeing everything. I have a friend who is an event planner and notices details at these kinds of events and she raved about everything! The venue is gorgeous, as well. And the icing on the cake is the complimentary overnight stay in the hotel for the bride and groom in an elegantly stated room. I highly recommend The Herrington! -

Your expertise, professionalism, and attention to detail throughout the entire wedding planning process were nothing short of remarkable. From our first meeting to the last-minute adjustments, you were an absolute rockstar and made sure every aspect of the event was meticulously planned and flawlessly executed. I especially loved the way you made those bubbles magically appear as we were announced husband and wife! You added your creative touch, elevating the entire experience to a day that will always be my most favorite of all.

We had our wedding at the Herrington inn and spa this past weekend and we could not have asked for a better venue. From the first minute we met Deanne and Racquel on the tour, they were so personable and treated us like we mattered as opposed to a number. All the planning leasing up to the day was made easier by them and other staff members. The food was amazing, the space was beautiful, and everything was wonderful. The only complaint I have is that I wish we could have had the space for longer! -

Wonderful Wedding Weekend
Our winter wedding weekend was fantastic at the Harrington Inn. Deanne, Raquel and their wedding team guided us through the process and all the details were beautifully executed. The love and attention to detail was apparent in all of our conversations and especially throughout the weekend. The venue was stunning and beautiful with the river backdrop for our winter wedding. Most of our guests stayed for the weekend and were warmly welcomed by the staff, our guests said they felt like they were at home. Having the accomodations on the property allowed our guests, aged 4 months up to 87 years old, to navigate flawlessly.
We could not have chosen a more perfect and romantic place to blend our beautiful families together and start our memories as husband and wife. -

Our Perfect Wedding
Everyone at The Herrington Inn was fundamental in planning, creating, and achieve our perfect wedding. The beautiful space and warm welcoming staff helped my now husband and I have an amazing ceremony and reception with our loved ones. We were able to have access to the space the day before to get everything set up exactly how we wanted and The Herrington Inn staff were there to help us along the way. Most of our guests made us aware that our wedding was one of the best they had attended - the amazing venue for ceremony and reception, the delicious appetizers at our cocktail hour and the dinner following were mentioned often! Beautiful venue, exceptional service
The Herrington Inn really made our July wedding perfect. Racquel and Deanne were always responsive, helpful, and really made sure I didn't half to worry about a thing on my wedding day. As an event planner myself, the confidence I had in them as well as the entire staff made me not stress about a thing on my wedding day. The venue is perfect to have an outdoor ceremony and then smoothly move right into a reception for great food and dancing. Also, having our wedding party and guests staying at the hotel allowed us to spend more time with everyone easily over the wedding weekend. Everything really went beyond expectations and we are so happy we chose the Herrington Inn. -

I can not begin to say how exceptional The Herrington was for my wedding! It has a gorgeous outdoor courtyard right next to the river. It was so easy for our wedding guests to flow right over to the beautiful outdoor patio outside along the river for cocktails . For the reception, I received so many compliments for how delicious the food was. The soup, the salad, the Filet Mignon and salmon was all made just right. The banquet managers Deanne, Raquel, Rose, were simply amazing. They go above and beyond from morning until night to make sure everything is thought of. Right after the ceremony, I could not get my bustle buttoned correctly. Deanne and Rose pulled me aside and helped me button it up correctly (no easy feat) and for that I am so appreciative. I did not have a wedding planner but I always felt that I was in good hands with Deanne as she helped organize so much of our day. Our friends and family loved staying at the Herrington Inn overnight. It such a charming Inn along the river that we were able to enjoy our breakfast together in a beautiful setting. Loved the Herrington Inn! It will always be a special place for us. -

We have heard nothing but wonderful things from friends and family about the wedding, from their time staying at the hotel to the incredible food, decor, history, and proximity to adorable downtown Geneva. Deanne,Raquel, Kyle, Janet, Rose. These are the people I worked most closely with.Looked at many venues for our daughters wedding and reception. THIS was the right place. Absolutely above and beyond customer service!!!
Our experience was nothing but excellent customer service! We had to postpone our wedding couple of times, Racquel Balcita & Deanne Mitchell led a team of professionals that made our wedding a dream day. They really went above and beyond to make this day beautiful and stress-free. Deanne even took over an issue we had with the limo company and resolved it; we were very impressed and grateful!
If you are still looking for a perfect venue for your special day, we definitely recommend The Herrington Inn & Spa, it is beautiful, cozy, elegant with top-of-the-line personalized service. -

The Herrington Inn and Spa, Like No Other!
The Herrington Inn and Spa, was the very best choice for our Wedding. My fiancé and I were looking for a beautiful location on a river, that would accommodate having our dog in the ceremony, had amazing food, and lodging accommodations for all of our friends and family too. They delivered on all, and went above and beyond. Our day was effortless! The staff took care of everything, including set up and tear down, they unloaded loaded our car with all of our reception decor before and after the wedding. Racquel and Deanne were so kind, helpful, and amazing in making our dreams come true. The quality of what we received exceeded our expectations. Thank you for everyone who made this day possible. The vendors that they recommended were also amazing, Everything we were looking for with them was delivered on, times 10.
We love The Herrington Inn and Spa and we will be returning frequently for our anniversaries and special occasions, to celebrate with them.

Couldn't have been better!!
Where to even begin! Our wedding at The Herrington was truly a dream come true. Not only is the venue itself one-of-a-kind (hello European romance) but Deanne, Racquel, Rose, and the whole staff went out of their way to make sure everything was beyond perfect. Our guests kept raving about the food, bar, and service, and those that stayed at The Herrington loved it so much. It was a perfect little city escape for friends and family who live in Chicago, and for those traveling from out of state it was easy to get to from O'Hare and Midway. We stayed for 3 nights and I wish we would have stayed longer! The room suites are perfect for girls getting ready, and Deanne and Racquel had amazing recommendations for vendors. I could go on and on - I truly wouldn't have changed a thing! -

We had an absolutely beautiful wedding day at The Herrington Inn & Spa in early October. Every step of the way from the planning till the day of, Deanne and Racquel were so helpful and professional. The day of the wedding, Deanne was amazing. It felt as though I had hired a personal wedding planner, she checked on us regularly to make sure everything was as we wanted it. We had hoped to have the ceremony outdoors in the Courtyard but unfortunately it rained a couple hours before so we decided to have it indoors, nevertheless it was still beautiful and such a special day. All our guests commented on how good the quality of the food was, much better than “hotel standards”. Even though we had a smaller guest list due to Covid, we were able to offer a variety of meal options to our guests. The value for the riverside location, the quality of the food and complimentary bride/groom guest room was impressive. We couldn’t ask for anything more on our special day! We had a perfect intimate and romantic wedding at The Herrington Inn. -

My husband and I had to change our wedding date multiple times due to Covid-19. Deanne and Racquel were so accommodating and understanding. They made our wedding planning and wedding day go over so smoothly. We have heard nothing but good reviews from our family and friends who attended our wedding. If you are looking for a wedding venue that provides a personal touch to make your day the special day your dreamed of I highly recommend Herrington. From the very first meeting with them I felt like they were listening and paying attention to my ideas. I booked my wedding year and half out but throughout the time from booking until my wedding day they were available to answer questions. As the wedding got closer they reached out about the timelines for planning, provided a tasting and had a few meetings to go over the details. The week of the wedding we had a final meeting and they were able to adjust to make accommodations for a special surprise to happen for my husband. On the day of the wedding things ran very smoothly under the direction, the reception hall and the grounds were beautiful and everything was set up just as we had discussed. They were very detail oriented and really paid attention to what I wanted. The food was great and the day was beautiful! Thanks to crew at the Herrington that made our wedding day very special!! -

Highly Recommend
After looking at a number of wedding venues in the Fox Valley, I knew pretty immediately that I wanted to have our reception at The Herrington Inn. The banquet hall is gorgeous and very unique with the exposed brick, chandeliers, and Juliette balconies. It is also in a great location in downtown Geneva for photos and bars/restaurants for your guests to go to.
The Herrington was also one of the best all inclusive options in the area. We liked that you had several options for food and drink menus and that the servers were on site. Along with this, they did full set up and take down for the day of.
Deanne’s whole team was so great to work with. They went out of their way to learn what we wanted our wedding day to look like and were extremely flexible. Along with this Deanne has worked with a large number of vendors in the area and does all of the coordination with vendors leading up to the wedding day.
Racquel handles the sales and contracts. She is super prompt and professional and helped us along the way as we changed our minds and came to final decisions.
What stands out most about the team was the ability to react quickly on the wedding day. Of course we had a set up a timeline well before but were running slightly behind because of photos. When I expressed my concerns to Deanne she took over and restructured how we were setting up dessert to keep the party moving. She was constantly checking in and making sure I was happy with everything the day of. Having Deanne there definitely calmed my nerves and I was so happy with how our wedding turned out.
Lastly, we have received so many compliments on the food at our wedding. The portions are very generous and they allowed us to mix and match. I also heard from our vegan guests that they loved their meals.
I highly recommend The Herrington if you are getting married in the Fox Valley. We had such an amazing time and love that we have the option to go and stay at the beautiful hotel to relive those memories down the road.

Incredible wedding venue!
This venue is wonderful. We had to plan our wedding quickly when plans changed due to Covid. Deanne was amazing and made us feel so comfortable. The whole team went above and beyond to be accommodating from letting us borrow the easel for our ceremony to changing up menu options at the last minute! Not to mention the fact that the venue is gorgeous and the food was amazing! -

We had a wonderful experience having our wedding at the Herrington and working with Deanne and Rose. Professional, competent, warm and hard working to be sure every detail was just as we planned it. Many of our guests went out of their way to tell us how delicious the meal was and how beautiful the venue and Inn. Highly recommend The Herrington!! -

We got married at the Herrington Inn on Sept 20, 2019. Our ceremony was small, only 65 people. We had an amazing time from beginning to end. Before the wedding we were working closely with Deanne and Racquel who were very responsive, and made our day happen exactly how we expected - or even better. Our guests were amazed by the food and service - really spectacular. The hotel has a great European feel and it is a charming location - we stayed for two nights in a riverfront room with a fireplace and they have the softest robes ever (we bought two to take home). Deanne also helped me to set up a special lunch at the Gazebo, the day before the wedding, and that was such a great experience, right by the river - Deanne's idea. When we got back to our room after the reception, we found champagne and chocolate strawberries waiting for us. Seriously, such a great experience. We loved it and can't wait to stay at the Herrington Inn again. Thank you, Deanne and Racquel - you are great! -

Beautiful Venue!
We were so happy and excited to have our fall wedding at the Herrington Inn and Spa! The venue is absolutely beautiful and was a perfect fit for us! We especially loved working with Racquel and Rose as they were extremely responsive and accommodating. They both went above and beyond to make our day a dream come true! -

I cannot say enough great things about The Herrington Inn & Spa! Not only is the venue gorgeous, but Rose and Deanne were an absolute dream to work with. Rose was my main contact during the planning process, and she was quick to respond to all my questions and concerns. Any ideas or changes I wanted to make, she made possible and worked with me to keep within a reasonable budget. On our wedding day, Deanne and Rose set up all of my ceremony and reception decorations exactly as I wanted and allowed my husband, family and I to relax, get ready and enjoy the day without having to worry about setup. They checked on us throughout the day and night to see if my husband and I needed anything (Deanne even made sure we got drinks and as many appetizers as we wanted after the ceremony). Deanne, Rose and the staff cleaned everything up at the end of the night and placed the gifts in our room as well as all our decorations in their office for my parents to easily pick up the next morning. As if Rose and Deanne weren’t great enough, the food was phenomenal! So many people raved to me about how much they enjoyed their dinner. If you are thinking about hosting your wedding at the Herrington, absolutely do it! They made our wedding day a dream! -

My husband and I had our wedding at the Herrington on April 13, 2019. The staff (especially Deanne and Rose) were wonderful! The venue is absolutely gorgeous and photographs so well! The food was delicious and it was so nice that the cake was included. Overall, we had the most beautiful wedding, I could not have asked for anything more! -

We stayed at The Herrington for our 2 year dating anniversary in January 2014. We had an amazing weekend there and in Geneva (cutest town ever!!). Then 3 and a half years later right before we got engaged I had a co-worker who was getting married in Geneva and it caused me to look back up the town and the beautiful inn we had stayed at previously. When we got engaged, we knew The Herrington was the first stop! Seven days after getting engaged we went to look at it and after an hour of talking with Deanne we had our date set (Sept 2018). We had an incredible experience working with Deanne, Rose, Racquel, and everyone else at The Herrington. They were extremely responsive to our emails/questions and they were always available to sit down in person to discuss details. Our wedding day was absolutely incredible and this in large part to Deanne and Rose. We love them and we will continue to go back to visit! Thank you again for being the best! Also, not only is the staff amazing and the setting beautiful, but The Herrington has incredible food! Our guests all raved about the appetizers and entrees and we even had platters of the classic Herrington chocolate chip cookies for dessert alongside our cake! Truly cannot say enough good things about this venue and its staff, highly recommend! -

Absolutely wonderful experience with the Herrington!
From the wonderful staff, to the delicious food, along with the fantastic service, the Herrington was the perfect place for our wedding! From the moment we decided to celebrate our wedding reception at the Herrington, Rose and Deanne helped to make each experience great and were there to support us along the way. I felt so comfortable with Rose and was able to ask her any and all my questions, at any time. Rose and Deanne went out of their way to meet me at the linen place, when I am sure they had so many other things going, just to help me make the best decisions for the space and the look I was going for. As time got closer to the wedding, Rose and Deanne allowed us to come in and prepare decor a few days before our wedding, which make things a lot less stressful as we got closer to the day. I had so many wedding guests tell me how delicious the appetizers, meal and late night snacks were, along with the service. Not to mention, we felt like we were sleeping on a cloud after a long, but amazing day! Would do it 100 times over again, only at the Herrington! Thank you to the staff and service for making our wedding day so wonderful and memorable! We will always be grateful for you! -

It was without a doubt, my very perfect wedding day, due in many respects to all of the fabulous details that The Herrington provides. Big congratulations go out to Deanne, the onsite wedding planner and her team who really handled everything except my personal wrangling that day. I was calm and collected due to the attention to detail that Deanne and Cyndi provided. I cannot recommend The Herrington Inn & Spa enough.
