Five Stars is not enough for the event services team and venue at the Henry Ford Museum! We held our reception at the Museum of American Innovation and it was magnificent! We worried initially because we only had 50 people and the space can accommodate up to 400. Aileen in event planning delivered on making the space intimate and beautiful. It was nice to not be crowded and the museum speaks for itself as an experience based reception. The events team is extremely organized and took us through every detail each step of the way so by the time of the reception, I was calm and confident all would be handled. Space was beautiful, food was out of this world and the staff during the event were attending to our every need. The price for this venue was less expensive than most of the “for profit” based locations and the event staff prevented us from having to hire a planner separately. This was especially important since we do not live in the area and did not want to coordinate or burden family with set up and tear down. They handled it all! We were so grateful.
During the event we had access to almost the entire museum to ourselves. We used that opportunity for a photo scavenger hunt so that people were able to explore a little between normal reception type activities. People who had never been there before and those frequent visitors had a blast. Everyone is still raving about!
Their recommendations for vendors were also used and we had exceptional DJ and Photography services too.
They also handled different allergies and dietary preferences well. The 5 star chefs planned the menu around the bride’s red dye 40 allergy and they ensured the other allergies were directly addressed. This was so important to us and we appreciated how they took the allergies serious and we had no issues.
The standard table set up and chairs were absolutely beautiful and we were able to supply special things we wanted to use at each table. When we walked in it was all set up and magical.
They also work well with the vendors and took that coordination away from me. We added the marketplace patio lighting and needed AV equipment to show a video. They contracted that all for me and just included it in my billing. The AV equipment was moved out of the room after dinner so we didn’t have to walk around it during the rest of the event.
So many more great things I could say, but I will end with how happy I am with The Henry Ford Museum Event staff. Our reception was beyond my imagination in a large part to them and their expertise. -

We had an incredible experience at this unique venue. We were lucky enough to have Somer assigned as our event manager (I am positive the others are great too - but I am biased after the year we spend together) and she was PHENOMENAL. She was an essential resource for us. She had a quick answer for every question and provided sage guidance. As wonderful as the planning process was, our day of was absolutely perfect. I could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding or a better planning experience. Our guests have complemented us frequently on the quality of the food, as well as how cool they thought the venue was. I have and will endlessly sing the praises of this gorgeous venue. -

The decision to have our wedding at THF was the best we could have made. The staff were so sweet and accommodating, and responded so quick to me when there were questions that came up. The food was amazing and very quick to serve. The guests loved the venue and we created a scavenger hunt for them to do during dancing if they wanted which most people enjoyed! -

The Henry Ford was an amazing host for our September wedding. The Martha-Mary Chapel and Eagle Tavern are perfect complements that showcase the history of The Henry Ford. Our family and friends are still raving about the event; the venue, the food, and the overall experience. We would like to thank all of the staff who were involved in the process leading up to the wedding and the day-of team who made everything seamless. Our Event Manager, Donna, was fantastic and helped us to plan our dream wedding!

Beautiful July Wedding
The Henry Ford Museum is the perfect wedding venue for any time of year! My husband and I got married this past July and had the most amazing experience. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. Donna, our events manager made us feel so special throughout the whole wedding process and met with us to go over details as many times as we wanted to. The museum is beautiful and historic and there are so many spots throughout the venue for your guests to explore. Highly recommend THF! -

From the moment we visited the Henry Ford Museum, we knew it was the place for our wedding. The stunning location provided the perfect backdrop for both our ceremony and reception. Given that my husband comes from an automotive engineering family, getting married in the museum was not only memorable, but exceptionally unique. Guests were allowed to tour the museum throughout the reception, with many friends and family still telling us how much they enjoyed that experience.
The THF staff was outstanding—professional, organized, and incredibly attentive. Our wedding coordinator, Samantha Saylor, made sure every detail was taken care of, allowing us to relax and enjoy our day. The versatility of the venue, with multiple beautiful spaces to choose from, ensured a seamless flow throughout the day.
The catering was exceptional. Our guests raved about the braised short rib and chicken options, along with the flawless service. The team managed the timeline perfectly, so we didn’t have to worry about a thing.
If you're looking for a venue with natural beauty, historical displays, incredible service, and attention to detail, the Henry Ford is the place to be. It made our wedding unforgettable!

11/10 Would Recommend
We had our wedding at Lovett Hall in October. Words don’t do justice how AMAZING the entire Henry Ford staff is. Our venue coordinator, Aileen, was absolutely great and really brought our vision to life. She was very responsive, helped with ideas, and very flexible to changes. She really wants your day to go exactly how you envision. Our catering staff was also great, food was brought out promptly and it was. so. good. Our guests still rave about how good all the food was. Absolutely recommend adding the Downtown Dessert package to your day- it was a hit! Wish we could do the day all over again! -

The best day at thf
We cannot say enough good things about our wedding at THF, and our guests can’t stop talking about it either! From the moment we toured the venue we knew this would be the perfect setting for our day. Ginger Meyer Garden is a gorgeous ceremony space that made our large wedding feel intimate followed by cocktail hour in the downstairs lobby of Lovett before heading upstairs to the stunning ballroom. It speaks for itself and doesn’t need a ton of decor which is definitely an added perk.
Donna V. was an absolute joy to work with throughout the entire process. She always responded quickly, offered thoughtful suggestions for our day, and ensured all staff were on the same page to make everything run seamlessly.
The food was the best wedding food lots of our guests have ever had, and the chef added personal touches throughout the night. Bartenders and waitstaff alike were friendly and attentive. If you’re thinking of having your day here - we would recommend it wholeheartedly! -

The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village play a very special role in the relationship of my husband and I; we both have fond childhood memories of the museum, we had our second date - and many others - there, and that is where he proposed. There was never another wedding venue that we considered, something crystalized after speaking with the events team. Donna and the rest of the events team at The Henry Ford helped us seamlessly navigate the process of preparing, planning, and celebrating our dream wedding ceremony and reception at The Henry Ford Museum. From the initial discussion and tour, to the moment we left at the end of our reception, the events team helped ensure that everything was perfect and brought our vision to life. On the day of our wedding, the ceremony and reception venues were absolutely stunning, the food was beyond delicious, and many of our guests gushed about how amazing it was to get to explore the museum while celebrating with us. After the wedding, my husband and I decided that we were so happy that we plan to be lifetime members of The Henry Ford. We cannot thank The Henry Ford (and Donna in particular) enough for the part they played in our dream wedding celebration! -

The best we could have dreamed of!
Everyone at the Henry Ford is absolutely phenomenal! They’re easy to work with, make sure everything is to your liking, and work hard to ensure your big day is seamless. The venue is stunning so having amazing event managers made the whole experience the best we could have asked for. Everyone is still talking about how it was the best wedding ever and it’s all thanks to the wonderful people at the Henry Ford. -

We had a fairytale wedding
We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at Lovett Hall. We truly could not have asked for a better venue, or a better coordinator. Somer helped us with every detail leading up to, and including, the wedding day. She helped us customize our menu and drink options, she worked with us on draft after draft of the guest list and seating chart, she set up a wonderful tasting for us, and so much more. Not to mention that she was just an absolutely sweet, genuine person and was wonderful to work with.
The day of, our banquet manager Kim was just as helpful. All the staff made sure that all the guests were well taken care of, but gave a personal touch for myself and my husband. We had our own waitstaff tending to anything we needed, who brought us a tray of the passed hor d'oeuvres that we missed at cocktail hour, as well as a tray of the desserts from the dessert table. All of these added touches were so thoughtful.
Even at the rehearsal the night before, everyone was so helpful - even helping my parents unload things from the car. And then reload them after the wedding concluded on Saturday!
In addition to the wonderful people we worked with, the venue and food were just absolutely amazing. Lovett Hall is gorgeous, and the staff made sure that all the tables were perfectly spaced, and that the linens, chairs, and place settings were all perfectly aligned and shining. The food was also delicious. We had passed hor d'oeuvres - smoked salmon savory cone, beef shawarma skewers, and mushroom phyllo cups (all so, so good) - along with a bruschetta display for the cocktail hour. For our entrée, we had a duet plate, with horseradish crusted whitefish and a beef filet. The dauphinoise potatoes were also just absolutely amazing. We had so many guests comment to us that it was the best wedding food they'd ever had, and I whole-heartedly agree. I even received comments about how great the vegan option was, which is not always the case at venues.
I could honestly keep going on and on about how wonderful this venue was. We quite seriously had a fairytale wedding, and it was in large part due to Somer, Kim, our chef, and the rest of the staff, along with the drop-dead gorgeous venue.
If I could do it all again, I wouldn't change a thing. It was perfect. -

Donna and Somer were fantastic! They helped us plan the perfect day. We had our ceremony in the Pennsylvania Courtyard and reception in the museum, and both looked stunning for our wedding. All event staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and we heard nothing but positive things from all of our guests. Highly recommend for a beautiful, memorable wedding! -

We had such a beautiful wedding at The Henry Ford for every part of our wedding. From the event staff, to the chef and servers, to our Model T driver (that's right, you can rent a Model T for an hour for pictures), absolutely everyone was wonderful to work with. They all helped bring our wedding vision to life!
The event staff was incredibly helpful with answering all of our questions since my husband and I had never planned an event quite this involved before. They were just so great to work with and I can't recommend them enough. -

Wedding of our dreams
The staff was fantastic, kind, patient and knowledgeable. The historic venue and meaning behind it is what we wanted but the staff at the Henry Ford just blew us away. The views and scenery speak for itself but we couldn’t be more grateful to the staff at the Henry Ford for giving us the wedding of our dreams.

The Henry Ford was hands down the best vendor my husband and I worked with while planning our wedding. Right from the start, the staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable. They sent us an overview of the planning timeline as soon as we booked and provided us with the menu packages ahead of time. Though there are a few restrictions due to the Henry Ford being a historic site, our event manager, Aileen, was extremely communicative, open, and honest with us and still went out of her way to try and accommodate our requests. Any time any change happened, Aileen made sure to update and send over our event order right away. The entire staff truly made us feel like they were invested in our wedding, which we appreciated. We will always be so grateful that we were able to have our wedding at such a wonderful venue. -

I highly recommend Henry ford museum to host your wedding ceremony and reception. Lovett hall is breathtaking, food was excellent and guests were gushing over both!! The biggest hit of the night was the ice cream bar. The staff are unbelievably amazing, they went above and beyond to make sure everything went flawlessly. The Henry Ford is the perfect venue for anyone who is looking to host an elegant and beautiful wedding! Our wedding ceremony and reception were both located in Lovett Hall, which is a stunning ballroom located behind the main museum. Lovett Hall is a gorgeous venue, with marble floors, large fireplaces, and crystal chandeliers hanging over a wooden floor. Donna was our wedding coordinator, and she did a wonderful job helping us plan our wedding, from picking out linen colors and tableware to helping us organize a room layout and timeline. All of the guests loved the venue, and everyone was raving about the food. I particularly loved the extra touches that The Henry Ford offers, such as a champagne toast, customized signature drinks, and a pretzel bar snack bar. We were able to take our wedding photos throughout the museum, which led to some incredible and unique photo opportunities. Booking our wedding during the first quarter saved us thousands of dollars, which made this venue affordable for our budget. Overall, the staff at The Henry Ford helped bring my wedding vision to life, and I couldn't be more grateful for all of their guidance and support. -

Fairy Tale Wedding!
A fairy tale wedding come true! Lovett Hall at The Henry Ford was everything I dreamed of as a little girl growing up! More importantly, the staff, specifically our event manager Samantha S. made it the best planning and wedding experience! We were originally supposed to have our wedding August 29, 2020 however due to COVID we had to postpone until August 28, 2021. This was not an easy decision for us but Samantha was in constant contact and whenever I wanted to chat about how I was feeling she made herself available to chat and calmed my anxiety and nerves down. Whenever in communication with Samantha you could feel her excitement for us in her voice! Even in her emails you could tell just how happy and excited she was to be part of our wedding planning! She kept me amped up with her positivity. This is the type of person you want to be working with when planning your wedding! Samantha was professional, had an eye for excellence when planning out the details, and was invested in our wedding. She went above and beyond her job and was a dream come true for what we could have ever expected for a wedding manager. From the beginning of the planning process we were asked what our vision was. We were then presented with options for dinnerware, table linen, and their chiavari chairs … LOVE :) I can’t emphasize enough how important it was to have The Henry Ford take care of the tables, linen, dinnerware, catering, and details that elsewhere one would have to do on their own or have multiple vendors to deal with. Samantha helped bring our vision of an elegant rose gold wedding to come true! All the decor was perfect! Our guests are still raving about how beautiful the wedding ceremony and reception hall was and about how AMAZING the food was! Guests are still talking to us about how we had the best hors d'oeuvre they have ever had! Samantha and the wait staff were attentive and were all a delight the day of the wedding. They made everyone feel so special the day of our wedding. Lastly, the photo opportunities were endless and stunning! From inside the museum, outside Lovett Hall, and Greenfield Village. You will have the BEST photos hands down! I promise you that you will not be disappointed with choosing The Henry Ford for your wedding day! -

I cannot stress how amazing it was to work with HFM, especially with Aileen and Joanne. We booked our venue RIGHT before the pandemic began and with everything up in the air, they were a constant source of assurance and support as they kept us updated/close eye on pandemic restrictions. They went above and beyond with keeping us informed and in the loop. They showed so much kindness and gratitude and made our day extra special. I believe they were just as excited as we were since we were the first wedding of 2021 they also got to experience :) I cannot thank them enough. -

Lovett Hall is one of a kind! It has everything you might want for a fairytale wedding. Highlights include: outdoor garden wedding space, main floor cocktail space(rain back-up location), cascading stairs, horse-drawn carriages, late-night ending and spectacular ballroom with original wood floors from the 1930's. Our guests continue to rave about this wedding. July was one of the first post-covid event for Henry Ford and we were happy to find that the Lovett Hall team (coordinator, chef, wait-staff, bar-tenders) served the finest creative, fresh and delicious meal in the most delightful atmosphere. We felt like royalty. -

We had to most amazing experience working with Henry Ford Museum! We had the pleasure of working with a few event planners, Aileen and Donna, and everyone we had the chance to work with was incredible. They’re all very professional and I knew we were in good hands and had nothing to worry about the day of our wedding. Lovett hall was simply gorgeous. It’s such an elegant space and there’s a ton of gorgeous places for pictures! I can’t recommend this venue enough. -

We absolutely loved our experience working with The Henry Ford! We had both our ceremony and reception at Lovett Hall and the day was nothing but perfect, and a lot of that perfection can be attributed to the thoughtful and detail-oriented staff. From the moment we walked into the ballroom at Lovett, we knew that we wanted to have our wedding in such an incredible and well-preserved piece of history. We were then paired with our awesome event coordinator Aileen who worked with us throughout our year-long engagement to make sure all of the details of our day were taken care of. She had great advice and used her experience to ensure our wedding was the best it could be. On the day of our wedding, Aileen worked with our vendors to ensure our vision was executed perfectly and our banquet manager Jason was completely on top of all of our guest's needs. I could not have asked for a better team of people to help make our wedding day amazing! -

She was so helpful and patient with us as we made decisions, as well as prompt in responding to emails. Christine, our head server throughout the night, was absolutely fantastic. She was so accommodating and friendly. In addition to the hor d’oeuvres and dinner, we had a popcorn station, coney dog station, and fruit cobbler for dessert instead of cake. All of it was amazing. The only recommendation I have is increasing the time the food stations are out. There didn’t seem to be enough time to try it all. Overall, though, it was a wonderful experience working with wonderful people! -

We worked with THF back in October for our museum wedding and it was an incredible time. Aileen as our coordinator was patient and very informative which was great for someone who gets overwhelmed easily like myself. Our guests loved being able to walk around the historic museum while enjoying a night of great food, dancing and history. The wedding sales team was great at keeping us on track with deadlines which made the planning much easier. I would note, that you are not locked into food cost until a certain date when all your food choices are locked in, which may be pretty common for most vendors and not something we were upset by, but its something that in my opinion is good to know when budgeting other vendors while planning. We also appreciated that they had a list of recommended vendors, though you can hire your own. Their recommended vendors know the building and the team and work well to have everything run seamlessly for your event. We recommend this place time and time again. -

We chose this unique location because we believe it reflects the spirit of Detroit - the great American history and innovations. The venue looks pretty and dreamy as we hoped it would be. The staffs also helped us plan our wedding every step of the way. they have good suggestions on how to decorate it. Two things that I wished they have are: One, menu with pictures of the dishes. Right now, they only have text and it'd have been nicer if we can see what the dishes look like before we have to choose. The second thing is wifi. I know that Greenfield Village is a historical place but we would appreciate this update since a lot of our long-distance guests would love to watch our ceremony on stream. -

We toured the Greenfield Village part of The Henry Ford and it was amazing! What they offer is something that is definitely out of the ordinary and will really wow guests. Only downside is October dates are hard to come by due to their Halloween’s nights.
