    Amazing Venue!

    We had our wedding reception at the Berg and everything was so wonderful! Abbi and her team did everything to accommodate our big day. If you're looking for a wedding venue, I highly recommend the Berg!

    Absolutely perfect! Here's some highlights: it's beautiful; awesome bridal / grooms suites; staff (Abbi) is amazing; great options for time in/out; outside area for cocktail hour; super fast room flip; accomodating... I could go on an on. The Berg is perfect.

    I absolutely loved having my wedding at Berg Event space. The venue is so gorgeous: beautifully refinished hardwood floors, amazingly awesome windows with a great view of downtown, a very unique courtyard, a huge magnetic wall for so many possibilities and the best group of people to work with. Abbi was so great to work with. She made things easy for us the day of and helped my wedding day be perfect. The bar tenders were so fun and friendly, I wish I could have them prepare my cocktails all the time! We took full advantage of the magnetic wall to add a special touch to our wedding: place settings, marquee letters and a selfie station. Seriously, if you want a fun downtown wedding with a stunning setting then book the Berg, because you won't be disappointed!

    The Berg was one of the best decisions I ever made for my wedding reception!! Jillian was outstanding when it came to communication and answering all my questions. On top of that she was excellent with assisting me in all my needs and requests and worked wonderful with all my vendors and day of planner! I remember the first time I e-mailed her in a frenzy wanting to book a tour in less than 12 hours, not only did she e-mail me back that night, she accommodated my tour with no problem! We enjoyed every moment, from the first meeting to the final seconds of my reception, all in a stress free no worry environment...not to mention in a beautiful venue, one that requires very little decorations because its already the perfect space!!! Props to Jillian and the Berg on a job well done!!! I would highly recommend the Berg for your Wedding reception, I had more than a wonderful experience and I know everyone else will to!!!

    The moment we walked up to the Berg, my husband and I knew that it was exactly where we wanted to start our forever. The raw, open space has so much character and charm and to top it off, it has an amazing view of the city. Jillian was fabulous to work with. She, along with the entire Berg crew worked diligently to ensure that everything was lined up to make our day perfect. Everything about our day was absolutely amazing and that wouldn't have been possible without the Berg! I highly recommend this space for any special event you may be planning!

    We were so happy that we chose Berg Event Space for our wedding reception! Jillian was so great to work with and the venue is beautiful. Although we did not have our ceremony at Berg, the outdoor patio space was perfect for cocktail hour and we felt like we were able to do a lot to make the indoor space our own. We had so many compliments from our guests and we could not be more pleased with Berg!!!!

    I can't even count the number of times since our wedding that people have raved about our event space. There was so much character at The Berg and our friends and family loved it. Beyond the incredibly cool space, Jill and Emily were phenomenal. We added the day of coordination package, and it probably was the best part of our budget spent to date. Emily made sure every decoration, timing detail and vendor element was in place. I didn't have a worry in the world on my wedding day. As a bride from the public relations realm, I knew I wouldn't be able to be in the moment if I didn't have someone else handling the moments. So thankful for all they did and the great event they put on for us. Money well spent!

    Berg Event Space is a modern urban loft conveniently located in downtown Kansas City. From the hardwood floors to the skylights and exposed brick walls, the space is sure to amaze your guests! The unique space looks great as-is or with personal touches throughout. This was the first event space my husband and I ever looked at and after seeing a few more, we realized it simply could not get better than Berg.

    Event Manager Jillian Murphy was our primary contact at Berg Event Space and also did our day-of wedding coordination. She was wonderful to work with and had an answer for all of our questions!

    The wedding coordination services were incredible. Berg offers 3 different levels of coordination packages (Full Service Coordination Package: $1,750, the Final Steps Coordination Package: $1,000 and the Day-Of Coordination Package: $699). I can’t tell you enough how worth it it was to have her detail-oriented and experienced guidance leading up to the event as well as throughout the evening.

    I’ve always fancied myself a pretty simple and organized person, however with wedding planning it was only natural to have questions and need a little extra help. We had a completely stress-free wedding and our guests enjoyed every minute of it!

    I highly recommend Berg to anyone out there looking at spaces. And if you’re curious about their coordination packages, take a look at their website or give them a call.

    I cannot even begin to express how lucky I feel that we chose the Berg for our wedding (going on nothing but photos and recommendations--I was planning from out-of-town). We had both our ceremony and reception at the Berg, and it could not have been more perfect for us. It has such a beautiful atmosphere--open but warm, contemporary but timeless, urban but classic.

    The communication, professionalism, creativity, thoughtfulness, and skill of the Berg staff is unparalleled. I was a very organized, spreadsheet-y kind of a bride, but I didn't want to be setting up centerpieces in my wedding dress. We hired the Berg's Emily Ferguson to be our day-of coordinator, and I am now pretty much in love with her. She was perfectly happy to answer my millions of questions from afar (and did so with speed and comprehensiveness) throughout the process, and handled every detail of our wedding day perfectly. She thought of everything I didn't and made the whole wedding feel effortless and fun and meaningful. I honestly cannot thank her and the Berg enough.

    The Berg Event Space is a perfect place for a ceremony and reception. We had 80 guests and it was a perfect fit. We couldn't have asked for better service from Jillian and Emily. They had every detail planned, nothing was left out. We were very happy with our decision to have our wedding there.

    Berg Event Space did an amazing job for our wedding on 5/10/13. I never wanted the night to end! Emily and Jillian were great to work with and extremely professional.     Perfect.

    There really is no other word to describe this venue or its staff. The Berg was the 3rd place we looked at for our wedding/reception and we were instantly upset we wasted any time looking at other venues. The venue gives you as a bride and groom a very unique setting that sets up beautifully for a classic yet relaxed event.

    Jillian and Emily were beyond easy to work with and I'd even say they are a tad too committed to The Berg as we'd get emails back at hours of the day and night in which we hope no one would be working. These ladies know how to make your event perfect and although they both happened to be there all night (spring for the coordination of services service, trust me) it never felt like they were there.

    We enjoyed the venue so much that we joked the next morning with our families about wanting our 10 year anniversary to get here so we could go back!

    The Berg was exactly what we wanted- an urban loft downtown. I can't say enough great things about this place, from the helpful staff to the amazing look and feel! We received so many compliments on its uniqueness. We had both our ceremony and reception here with about 150 guests, which was the perfect amount for this space.

    I had been to a wedding at the Berg before and absolutely loved it! So when my fiancé and I were looking at spots it was one we knew we had to visit, and on first look he was sold as well. The space is really beautiful. It had the urban and modern yet still very classy look we were going for. The court yard, freight elevator, and bridal suite created the perfect settings for pictures; while the magnetic wall was a great way for us to display our story and pictures for all of our friends and family to enjoy!
    We took advantage of their day of coordinator service and without a doubt was one of the best choices we made. The staff was friendly, organized, knowledgeable, and incredibly easy to work! With them in charge I wasn't concerned about anything, and it made me have a surprising low stress kind of day! Thinking back we wouldn't have changed anything and would have chosen the Berg all over again!

    The Berg Event Space was an amazing venue to have on my wedding day! It has the loft feel of downtown Kansas City and the lady that helped me was there the whole night and when I asked her a question, she was right there!! Amazing!

    The Berg was the most amazing place for our wedding and reception. We are an older couple celebrating a second marriage, and without exception, every guest raved about the space. It was the perfect venue for our special night. The staff was courteous and very responsive to every need and requirement. The ambiance was exactly what we were looking for to create a relaxed, hip vibe for an extremely happy occasion. The mood for the evening was set the minute the guests walked in the door and got a drink from the bar, and then sat at a table to enjoy the ceremony. Just a very accommodating and highly efficient group of people, and again, the space was amazing.

    The Berg Event Space is a beautiful location to have a wedding reception. The space itself is positively gorgeous and the set up on our wedding day was perfect. Unfortunately, it was raining so we couldn't have the outdoor bar. The staff was super friendly and helpful- ensuring our day was positively perfect. I really appreciated the flexibility and attention to detail to make the space exactly as we wanted. We could not have been happier. It fit with our contemporary romantic theme and we received so many compliments on our space. Would highly recommend to others.

    I got had my ceremony and reception at The Berg Event Space in May of 2016 and have nothing but GREAT things to say! All of my and my now husband's family is from out of town and Jillian & Ron Berg were fantastic with allowing us to give each family a peek of the space when they came in to town. Jillian is very organized and keeps you on schedule with payments, a final walk through and any last minute details you may have forgotten. I HIGHLY recommend using The Berg Event Space for any of your needs- wedding ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner or a photography space!

    The Berg Event Space was exactly what we were looking for when deciding on a venue for our ceremony and reception. We toured several venues and met with different event coordinators but nothing compared to The Berg. We wanted something unique but elegant and it was very important that we 'got a good vibe' from the event coordinator after our initial tour. The staff at The Berg exceeded our expectations! Event Manager, Jillian, is so professional, has excellent follow up and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed out wedding day with no issues. Our guests were so impressed with how beautiful and unique the venue is. I HIGHLY recommend The Berg to hold your next event!

    Wedding venue

    We enjoyed having our wedding ceremony and reception at the Harlow! Adrianna was awesome to work with and made it a great experience for us. It’s a fun and pretty venue, affordable, and they are easy to work with. I will say that if you have your wedding in the summer, the AC has difficulty keeping up (was pretty hot the whole night) and the floors made my dress very dirty. Overall though, was a great venue for us!

    Jillian was great! The staff there knows what they are doing and made the day so special. Even though it rained and we couldn't use the beautiful outdoor space it was just as perfect inside. If you want something simple and naturally decorated then choose The Berg! Thank you guys for everything you did for us.

    Hands down the beat decision I made during wedding planning! (other than picking my husband) amazingly beautiful space, and it's so transformable! I went to two open houses, both looked gorgeously different and my wedding was very different from those looks as well - yet each set up looked perfectly at home! You can't go wrong here!
    Hiring Jillian as our day of coordinator was the second best decision I made! Worth every penny, and more! My 5 aunts and parents decided that the wedding could not have been set up in time, let alone so beautifully, If Jillian and her staff had not done all the work.
    A bridesmaid of mine got married in Estes Park, CO in the middle of the mountains and instantly told me she was so jealous of my venue she wanted to cry! That says it all! I got compliments alllllll night long from how neat the space was to how cute their bartenders were! Haha ?

    We absolutely loved having our wedding at Berg Event Space. This was the only place that we looked and we fell in love with the atmosphere. The venue is beautiful!!! It can accommodate indoor and outdoor ceremonies!!! We worked with Jillian who was SUPER easy to work with and very helpful!! She and her staff did an amazing job and everything went off without a hitch (that I know of :))

    My husband and I immediately fell in love with The Berg's urban chic (yet classic) style when we walked in. The freight elevator was an amazing addition to doing our grand entrance, and Jillian (the event coordinator) was always very responsive to our questions and concerns. The Berg feels cozy, yet is spacious enough to have your guests up on the dance floor while having more relaxed spots near the back of the venue. The venue was one of the components of the wedding that my husband and I were willing to spend a little bit more money on, because it is so incredibly memorable, and we were not disappointed. I do wish that we could have brought in our own alcohol instead of using theirs, but that is fairly rare with venues anymore. I also wish that we could have dropped off reception decorations the day before, but having a day-of coordinator made set-up a breeze. I would highly recommend The Berg to anyone with a classic urban chic taste and wanting a terrific coordination team!!

    Loved the space. Gave the urban city look I desired! Was upset that wedding pictures were not posted on their Facebook and all other weddings leading up to mine were. Hmmmm

    I looked at probably 40 event spaces in town before deciding on one. Now that the wedding is over I am thrilled with the choice I made- the Berg was perfect! Not only were Jillian and Emily great to work with over the year+ of planning but the individuals they hire were also great. From the security officer they provided to the bartenders everyone was super nice, professional and fun to be around. As I was planning the wedding and meeting with other vendors they would ask where the wedding was- when I said the Berg, the reply back was always, “They are great, we love having events at the Berg.” I took it as a good sign that vendors from various industries all love working with the Berg staff and in the space. Jillian and Emily were wonderful helping me find other vendors when I needed some suggestions and helping with ideas to ensure the event was executed properly (I had both the ceremony and reception there). They were always very responsive to my emails and calls. The Berg is not the cheapest date in town but they do not nickel and dime you nor do they add on additional expenses after signing the contract that you were never told about. When you factor in the fact that they take care of tips for anyone they hire to work your event (i.e. bartenders and security guard) their price is probably very competitive to like competition. On the wedding day itself everything went so smoothly, they helped my caterer plan the execution of appetizers for cocktail hour and food stations for the reception. I was never bothered with questions or made aware of any issues that may have arisen the day of the wedding- they handled everything like seasoned pros. Plus the space is cool and unique- the pictures we took in the Berg turned out great!

    My husband and I had a wonderful wedding ceremony and reception at Berg Event Space this summer. Emily and Justina were a pleasure to work with and so professional. All of my emails were returned promptly and my questions were answered thoroughly. We decided to have day-of coordination and it was a lifesaver! Emily organized everything with our vendors and made the day completely stress-free, which was appreciated by everyone in our families and bridal party.

    The space is unique and modern and perfect for our wedding size of 130 people. The windows make the space feel generous and airy and the brick and wood floors keep it contemporary and fresh. Nearly everyone commented on what a cool space it was and how much they enjoyed the atmosphere. It is unique and special--a great place for a wedding!

    Wonderful venue! Very artsy location and made for a beautiful ceremony and reception. The staff was very helpful and made sure everything went very smoothly!

    The Berg Event Space is a unique venue and it was definitely a look my husband and I wanted for our reception. Jillian and Emily were very professional and I appreciate them for being so accommodating and flexible with our large guest list. I was getting stressed out during the week of the wedding and kept emailing and calling both of them so I really appreciate them for being patient with me.
    I do want to give future brides a heads up: make sure you really understand your contract!! Ask questions if something doesn't make sense. My husband and I payed for the venue and were slapped in the face with a $2,000 bill for soft drinks…that's where they really get their money. I'm pretty sure our guests didn't drink $10 worth of drinks. I think that's a bit too much for drinks. Other than that, I had a good experience with the Berg. If you're wiling to spend the money I recommend them to future brides.

    The Berg was everything I had dreamt of for our reception. Very urban, lofty feel, but still very usable for a big event. They were great to work with and handled a lot of the day-of details- Jillian even fixed my bustle when my bridesmaids couldn't figure it out! We only had one miscommunication working between the two contacts which resulted in not getting the passed champagne toast we had planned on adding to our alcohol package, but it didn't really take much away from anything especially since the bar was open during dinner. They are very up front about restrictions and rules, but I appreciate that vs getting surprised later.

    Unique space. Was great to work with Emily and Jillian - they ensured that the event was executed as planned. A little pricier than other venues but well worth the cost.

    My husband and I had our ceremony and reception at the Berg Event Space. I loved the space the minute I walked in there. The best part of the Berg was Emily. My wedding would have not have happened without her. She took care of everything. I had a problem with our initial caterer and she gave me great suggestions on other places to go with. I can't say enough good things about the Berg. Our wedding was everything we wanted. Thanks again Emily!

    The Berg was a pleasure to work with! Very helpful when it came to meeting our needs leading up to the weekend and during the night of the event. Appreciated the quick responses and all the coordination since we were out of town - that helped tremendously knowing that we were in good hands the day of. The venue is just spectacular and speaks for itself- had no complaints there. The perfect combo of rustic chic - and right in the heart of the city close to all the action. All the furniture was set up just the way we wanted and the event staff was a huge help the night of with the mics and technical elements. Everything it was just perfect for our BBQ rehearsal dinner!

    The Berg event space was perfect for our small wedding. We really wanted the down town feel without the downtown price tag and the Berg gave us just that! The staff was extremely helpful in working with us during the planning process and coordinating with our other vendors on the day of. They also recommended several vendors that were phenomenal to work with that I wouldn't have found without there referral. They are a venue that is established and they do have certain ways that they like to do certain things, which my husband found a little off putting. Other than that I loved them and couldn't imagine our big day happening any place else!

    We had an amazing reception and loved the event space. They were very flexible on most things, however, some venues allow for a more flexible bar. I would highly recommend this place for a great wedding reception/party!

    Love this space!

    I absolutely adore the Harlow and it was a great spot for our wedding. Its a versatile space, so we had our reception here as well. They flipped the venue during cocktail hour and it was seamless and gorgeous. My only small issue is that my venue manager wasn't very responsive; we had to email 2-3 times to get a response for any questions/to confirm payments. We got switched to a new manager about 6 weeks before the wedding, and while that was stressful, our new manager was SO on top of it. She was very responsive and helped ensure everything ran smoothly!

    The only thing we were frustrated about was the flexibility of the Berg. We paid $3000 + several other fees to have our reception there on a Saturday evening. We were only able to begin decorating the space 4 consecutive hours prior to our event. Because we only held our reception at the Berg, we could begin decorating at 2pm and that is what time our wedding began and we didn't want to ask any family/friends to miss our wedding in order to setup the reception site. We had very limited time to decorate the space and had to ask many people to help setup so that we could finish in time. We were offered more time at $150 per hour, I believe, so that was not an option as we were on a budget. We did, however, appreciate that the tables and chairs were all setup by Berg staff before our decorations crew arrived and they allowed us to store our decorations in their basement overnight the day before. I rated Value 4 stars because you get very few perks included in the cost of the space. Bartender fees, disposable cups, catering, parking fees, security fees, etc. all cost extra and several are required.

    The customer service and response time we received was excellent. All our questions were answered and we appreciated the 'consultation' appointment to discuss the layout and what not. The Berg representative whom we met with gave us some great suggestions and we appreciated her help!

    The night of the reception was excellent! In our opinion, everything ran very smoothly. The Berg representative was very helpful with our entrance via the freight elevator and answering our last minute questions. Other than that, she didn't bother us with other questions/issues or make herself noticeable in our crowd of guests - which we very much appreciated! We gave a check to our coordinator and asked that the Berg representative get with our coordinator at the end of the night to have our final balance paid and that went very well.

    We had approximately 150 guests and they all fit very well.

    The venue is a beautiful blank canvas in an urban setting. The cost of the venue and all of the fees included make it rather expensive. We blew way past our budget because of little additional fees we were not fully aware of here and there (from all of our vendors, not just The Berg). The staff is very friendly and helpful, but you do have to pay them extra to go above and beyond with planning. As I mentioned, it is a blank canvas. You can use this space to create any sort of mood you would like, if you have the money to do so. The dressing rooms are really beautiful, however you don't have a ton of time in them to get ready unless you want to pay extra. You also cannot have your rehearsal here unless you want to pay an additional ceremony fee ($700ish, I believe) to book a single hour for the night before. I would recommend this place to ANYONE because of it's uniqueness, urban feel, beauty, and location. However, I would encourage people thinking of this venue to read into the fine details of all contracts and to carefully consider their budget before booking.

    BEAUTIFUL VENUE. This was hands down the best place for our wedding. It was beautiful without having to put too much time into decorating, the staff was friendly and it was exactly what we wanted for our urban/city wedding. The only negative I had was that the floors were filthy, and I was no aware of it. They looked clean, but within 10 minutes I had black marks all over the bottom of my gown. To the point that they could not be cleaned out. With brides walking around in expensive gowns it would be nice if they would have someone come in and clean the floors.

    Great event space. Many guests commented afterward how much they liked our venue, and were happy we had our event there. Sandy was helpful in getting the event planned and was around all night to make sure things ran smoothly. I'd recommend this space to any bride looking for a fun loft venue in downtown KC.

    I will start out by saying the Berg Event Space is a gorgeous, modern loft style and when I look back at the pictures and the video I will be reminded of a wonderful day.

    That said I have several complaints. Let me start with the bar package. Only the groomsmen are permitted beers before the ceremony. My father (groom's father) was denied a beer during this time. My groomsmen complained that it was still very difficult to get a beer even though they were supposed to be permitted. I was a bit embarrassed that the open bar I purchased had so many restrictions. I found out there were no shots allowed when all the groomsmen gathered up to take a celebratory shot. There were no shots allowed even though I bought a package that included liquor. Again, I was left embarrassed in front of my guests.

    The Berg is not flexible, and they do not care if their lack of flexibility will cost you big time. Reading through old reviews it appears that once upon a time the Berg allowed you to store items in their basement overnight. I am here to tell you that option no longer exists. With all of the rentals involved in a wedding, this creates a nightmare situation. Our vendors all acted like leaving things at the venue was a given, but when we talked to the Berg, they were nonnegotiable - even when we explained that this would turn a $200 chair rental into $700 because of overtime wages and same-day pickup.

    Underlying all of these complaints is the feeling that we were not valued by the Berg staff. The price of this venue is on par with other venues in KC, and I believe you should be treated with respect as such a paying client. We were not. Our other vendors were so friendly and treated us as if they were happy we chose them to be a part of our wedding. KC has a lot of beautiful, modern venues. If I were choosing all over again, I don’t know that I could say I’d choose Berg Event Space.
