Amazing experience from start to finish

I could write a novel about how seamless and perfect the Sheraton Gunter was for our wedding. First and foremost, EVERYONE: David (wedding coordinator), front desk receptionists, valet, were all exceptional! The transition from Tina (former wedding coordinator) to David Puente was nothing but easy. The Sheraton went above and beyond for our family during our planning process. They were all so helpful and amazing. Now the day of our wedding was magical. The Crystal ballroom was my exact vision for our wedding. The servers were all so kind and attentive. Everything was just what I hoped it would be. Now lastly, why I would recommend the Sheraton Gunter to any upcoming bride out there is my husband forgot in the honeymoon suite an envelope of A LOT of money (cash and check). The next day we called and they were able to find it. We were thinking it will probably be either an empty envelope or just the checks. To our surprise, EVERYTHING was in there. So that just shows the Sheraton Gunter have an amazing staff from every department. We loved our experience with the Sheraton Gunter and cannot recommend them and David Puente enough!

When I visited the Gunter Hotel I fell in love with the location. The Elegant 2nd floor ballroom was beautiful and the staircase, over look to the lobby, and terrace sunroom added the romance I was looking for in a venue. But perhaps the best part and the major selling point was the service. Going into my wedding planning I was very nervous I would get overwhelmed but after I met Tina I knew my wedding was in great hands. She helped me build my dream wedding even down to changing the color of my uplighting at the last minute.

Tina and her team are the best in the business. They make sure that your special day is everything you dream of. If my husband and I could do our wedding again, we would not hesitate for a second to have the opportunity and privilege to work with the Sheraton Gunter and Tina again.

I cannot say enough about the Sheraton Gunter Hotel and their in-house wedding coordinator, Tina. You cannot make a better choice having your wedding at this beautiful hotel. The decor is just breath taking! Being a wedding coordinator is not just about getting the guests fed or making sure rooms are booked as there are a million tiny details to take care of that make a huge difference. We never had to ask for anything as she anticipated our every need. The wedding was for my daughter who had medically gone through so much in her life and Tina took in all in stride with understanding and tact, using her polished skill set. Tina is an angel who goes above and beyond. Her knowledge, attention to detail, and dedication are just amazing. Tina, you were calm and reassuring, patient and encouraging and will never forget all that you did for us.

Tina, who is the coordinator, is amazing. i cannot say enough about this hotel and the staff. Tina went above and beyond for us making sure everything was taken care of. I highly recommend her and this hotel!! I booked the venue for April and she made sure everything would be set up and be absolutely perfect for the big day. She new what I needed for the wedding before I knew what all I needed to do. They more than accommodated my everyday need.

The Sheraton Gunter is breathtaking and tailored exactly to my wedding needs. It is also in such an ideal location for out of town guests and parking. I could not be more satisfied with the exceptional service I received and continue to receive from Tina G. and her team. They've seen us through every step of the way. Most importantly, Tina made my finance and I feel as if we were the only couple celebrating at the Sheraton this year. Such a professional and experienced team - cannot say enough!

We were so pleased with the service we received from the moment we selected the Gunter Hotel as our venue through the day of our wedding. Tina Gonzalez was awesome in catering to our needs, offering suggestions, and really personalizing our experience. The waitstaff that night was attentive and on point, food was delicious and the ballroom was amazing. Our wedding party and our guests had a great evening and what a wonderful experience to celebrate with family. Thank you for your professionalism and meeting our needs.

The Sheraton Gunter was the perfect venue for our wedding. It was everything I wanted and more. The ballroom was the perfect size and I loved having the terrace for the cocktail hour. The food was delicious, and the service was great. The best part was our coordinator Tina Gonzalez. I could not have done it without her. She was always quick to reply and a great source of knowledge of other vendors in the area. She definitely helped to make our weekend so enjoyable and stress free!

When my wife and I first started looking for a venue, we called and left messages to over 10 places. Tina from the Sheraton Gunter was the only one to call us back right away. After meeting with Tina, and looking at the venue, we were sold! The staff was unbelievably amazing, the hotel is beautiful, and words cannot describe how gorgeous the venue was. My wife and I got compliments after compliments on how fabulous everything was. You will never have to stress or worry about your wedding, Tina and the staff at the Sheraton Gunter take care of everything with five star service.

The Sheraton Gunter Hotel was absolutely amazing. Not only was the location beautiful but the food was fabulous, and the service was absolutely wonderful. They exceeded every expectation we had. Tina was beyond incredible coordinating everything so my husband and I were able to enjoy the day and when we had a vendor crisis with our DJ being MIA over an hour after the time that he was supposed to be there Tina took the initiative and found us a back up option just in case taking on the stress to herself not allowing it to affect us. She told us in the beginning of this process that we would not want to let her go after this was all over and she is absolutely right. I can not say enough good things honestly. I could not imagine it any better. Thanks to Tina and the Sheraton Gunter Hotel my wedding day was truly magical!!!!

Tina and the whole Sheraton Gunter family was absolutely amazing. My now wife and I had a blast and are still hearing about the fun everyone had. Our wedding was at the end of April. Tina was there every step of the way. During the wedding, Tina, the food staff, and the wait staff killed it. They were 100% on point. We highly recommend this location and staff for everyone we meet who is planning an event. Thank you all so much for all the work you did to make our special day amazing.

The Sheraton Gunter Hotel is the perfect setting for your special day. The entire staff goes out of their way to give you and your guests the VIP treatment. By the time we left, we felt like family. I could not say enough kind words about Tina Gonzalez, the onsite wedding specialist. She was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She loves what she does and it's quite evident. The ballroom is beautiful! Our guests enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by Chef Jennifer and her team. We really wanted our guests to be well taken care of and they certainly were. The Gunter hotel is now our home away from home. We wouldn't think about staying anywhere else when in the area. I wish we could relive this experience over and over.

This venue was perfect for us. We had our ceremony and reception here and were blown away. The hotel itself is beautiful and is a great crowd pleaser because of its history and elegance. Tina Gonzales was there for every step. She let us meet with her multiple times before the wedding and always responded to emails promptly. When we went in the terrace the day before it was so hot. We were sweating and were the only ones in there. Tina immediately got the air turned on and huge industrial coolers. Sure enough, the next day was hot as can be but the terrace felt nice and cool, thanks to Tina. There were so many other things we asked for and every time the answer was "yes, we can do that."
The only complaints I received from our guests were that the serving staff was stingy with the potatoes at the potato bar and the bartender was rude.

Overall my husband and I were in awe over how beautiful and wonderful our wedding was. Thank you Sheraton Gunter!!!

Tina is amazing! Our wedding is 2/11/2017 and just starting planning so we are rushing a bit to find everything we need and Tina has been so much help! I did not need to find a wedding planner cause Tina helped me with pretty much anything I needed! Not to mention the hotel its self is very beautiful and historic and modern!

Tina (the wedding coordinator) was extremely helpful the whole way through. She understood us, she was friendly, she answered all of our emails and phone calls. Somewhere in the beginning I mentioned my love of pickles and at our private dinner before the reception, she made sure I had extra pickles on my plate! The day of, everyone (at the hotel) came together to fix a little problem that we were having with the bridal room; they were so accommodating to our needs. During the reception, Tina even went to check on my puppy to make sure she was okay (it was Tina's idea)! Everyone at the Gunther was friendly, kind and attentive to all the guests (especially to our parents). It was perfect. It was the perfect weekend at a perfect place. <3

We had our wedding October 2015 and I couldn't believe how amazing everything went!
We had been looking for a venue for both ceremony and reception, and the Gunter hotel was absolutely perfect! We worked with Tina Gonzales and she was truly amazing. Every question was answered, not one email was ignored. She made sure all my worries were taken care of. The day of the wedding i just couldn't believe how AMAZING she was!! She took care of the details every bride worries about. It rained, streets were flooded, some changes had to be made on the day of but she made sure everything was fixed and taken care of. And it was perfect! Tina and Mustafa made sure my husband and I were taken good care of all night. From drinks to dinner to the cake! The Hotel alone is a beautiful place. It's gorgeous!

When my husband and I first started to look at reception venues we weren't going to look at hotels however we are so happy and pleased that we did. Aside from the fact that the Gunter Sheraton Hotel is absolutely gorgeous, we received exceptional service from Tina, Mustafa and the rest of the hotel staff. The day of the wedding we did not have to worry about anything because Tina took excellent care of us. We had our (180 person) reception, cocktail hour, and rehearsal dinner there and we are extremely satisfied with the quality of food and service we received. Since we got married on a week day we were able to take advantage of the many beautiful spots the hotel has to offer. Our cocktail hour was on the terrace over looking the Majestic Theatre and our reception was in the Crystal Ballroom. Everything went on as planned and everyone that we worked with at the hotel was extremely helpful and accommodating. We are beyond happy that our special day could take place in such a beautiful and historical place in San Antonio. Tina, Mustafa and the Gunter Sheraton staff made our day that much more special and we are so glad that we did go with them for our Wedding day venue.

My wedding was held at the Gunter on 11/08/14 and it was amazing, fun, and beautiful. They took care of everything, from the tables with linens to the food, from day one we fell in love with Stacy, our onsite coordinator, she has excellent customer service, listens to your needs and shares awesome ideas with you.
While planning our event and even days before the wedding Stacy would reply back within an hour whenever we would email her and was always so nice if we needed to make a change. The Gunter is beautiful, has a very nice scenery, great food and is in a great location, the whole staff on the night of the wedding provided excellent customer service. It is a historic hotel with modern updates, all the rooms reserved for us were booked and everyone enjoyed their stay just as much as we did. We had a blast, if I can relive that night I would, it was so beautiful, we received so many compliments of how gorgeous everything was. I chose this place because it's a beautiful hotel, located in downtown, offered great wedding packages, and then when meeting Stacy we knew we made a great choice. I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a classic San Antonio wedding in the heart of downtown.

Stacy took great care of us all the way through. She is very attentive and makes sure that you are treated like royalty on your big day. Futhermore, the Sheraton is such a beautiful hotel. We received many great compliments. Great value!!

I was impressed by the professional level of service we received at the Sheraton Gunter and would recommend the Sheraton Gunter without hesitation to anyone having a wedding in the San Antonio area. We had our wedding ceremony and reception here on 9/13/2014 with about 100 guests. Here are some reasons why I liked having our wedding here
1) Location: The location was very convenient being walking distance from the Riverwalk and Alamo. We had a lot of out of town guests who stayed at the hotel and we didn't have to worry about entertaining them the entire weekend.
2) Service: My wedding planner, the Gunter's wedding coordinator (Stacy) and the staff at the Gunter made the wedding day as stress free as it could be. Everything was perfectly taken care of-- from the flowers, to the seating arrangements, to even the areas where the groom and I were to get ready. We were very impressed
3) Food: We had a sit down dinner for our wedding. The meals that were brought out to us were huge! Everyone was served both steak and chicken. It was some of the best wedding food we have had
4) Connections: The staff at the Sheraton Gunter had good working knowledge of the various vendors int he area and made excellent recommendations. Everyone they recommended were very professional and detail oriented.

The hotel accommodations and hospitality were outstanding. The attention to detail in every aspect of our event was magnificent. Stacy Seaborn and her staff's professionalism prior, during and after our event made our 25th anniversary memorable, not a headache. On behalf of those who attended our event, we received the highest complements on the preparation, presentation and quality of the meal served that evening, A++++.

Our wedding at Sheraton Gunter hotel was absolutely perfect. None of it would have been possible without Stacy Seaborn and her incredible staff. Stacy was able to listen to what we wanted and, somehow, worked her magic and surpassed our expectations. When my husband and I walked into the ballroom, we were floored. It was exactly what we wanted and dreamt of! The hotel is stunning, the staff is the most professional I've ever encountered and, best of all, our friends and family are still talking about our wedding (including the delicious food!) one month later. Stacy went out of her way to recommend the best photographer, baker, florist, transportation, and lighting companies in San Antonio. Everyone was so professional and sweet, they all made planning so much easier. We are eternally grateful for Stacy and the Sheraton staff for making our special day a remarkable experience.

This hotel was absolutely phenomenal to me and my wife in helping us prepare for our big day. They provided us with almost all of the vendors that we used. The hotels event coordinator, Stacey Seaborn, was amazing to work with as she was always there for advice and support in the months leading up to the big day. All of our guests had a blast. If I had a chance to do it over again I wouldn't change a thing.

Stacy the event coordinator was very helpful and we really trusted her with this most special event! She was not only open to our ideas but offered her knowledge of previous events. The tables in the ballroom were gorgeous - the hotel provides much of the decor and allowed us to supply our added touches. We even worked on the floral arrangements in the ballroom the night before the wedding. The Gunter Hotel staff was superb - always helpful, professional and courteous.

Stacy Seaborn was incredibly helpful and professional. Her years of experience were very apparent and she made things run very smoothly. She was very attentive to my husband and I during the reception, making sure we had everything we needed. We are grateful for our experience, it was a magical night.

The Gunter Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a lot of guests from out of town and the staff members did a great job showing the "Texas hospitality." Stacy, the Catering Coordinator, had everything covered. She went above and beyond to make sure our wedding reception was unforgettable. She even busselled my dress!

We absolutely loved Stacey Seaborn and her excitement for our wedding. The venue was beautiful. Our suite was amazing and I wish we could have spent more time in there. Our family and guests are still talking about how beautiful everything was and how good the food was. The Gunter was the perfect choice for our wedding reception and Stacey was truly the icing on the cake.

Stacy did a fantastic job with everything, down to the very last detail! When the hotel parking was overcrowded and our caravan from another church was running late to the reception, Stacy was even helping with valet parking to ensure we got to the reception on time! She definitely has an uncanny way to relax and reassure any bride, and gave me all the recommendations for the vendors we used. (Some of the very best in San Antonio!!) The hotel was beautiful, the food was outstanding, and like others said, it truly is in the heart of San Antonio, making it a perfect location!

The Sheraton Gunter Hotel is a fabulous place to get married. The location is prime in downtown San Antonio near the Riverwalk. We were married at Christmas time, and the decorations throughout the hotel were perfect. Our guests raved about the hotel and how accommodating they were during their entire stay.

Stacy is the contact at this venue. She was so energetic and fun to work with. She was one of the main reasons we picked this venue (besides the beautiful ballrooms). The food was great and presented many options.

My mother had a 'Mother's Day Fashion Show' many, many, many years ago in the Crystal Ballroom. I totally loved the chandeliers in the ballroom! When my husband, at the time fiance, and I were looking for venues, the Sheraton Gunter Hotel was the most beautiful place that gave very reasonable prices! Neal Bozeman was our coordinator and he did a fabulous job! He was assigned to our wedding about two months before the actual date. He emailed us like crazy and called to make sure that we had exactly what we wanted! We had some last-minute "Oh no's!", but Neal made sure that everything was taken care of. He called to make sure I was doing okay and to calm my nerves! Thank you Neal.

On the actual day everything was taken care of. Mustafa was the gentleman assigned to take care of us once Neal left. He made sure that we ate, had our cake, and that everything ran smoothly throughout the night!

We looked at every single indoor reception facility in San Antonio that holds over 300 people for a seated dinner and the Gunter was the last one we saw. The minute we walked into the ballroom, I knew it was where we were going to have the wedding. The coordinator Stacy is a wedding god in San Antonio and there is no one with more knowledge and expertise to help you every step of the way. Stacy takes SO much pride in her work and is there for you no matter what you need, she and her staff are fantastic and will treat you and your guests like kings, they certainly did for us. The food is so delicious and we had guests tell us it was the best meal they had ever had at a wedding. Perfect stars from a very particular bride!

I can't tell yo enough how amazing Stacey was in coordinating this whole event. I am the mother of the groom, and one month before the wedding my Dad was diagnosed with a terminal illness. I was not able to help my daughter in law with all I wanted, and I just dropped the ball. Well, Stacey went far beyond her duties in taking care of the whole event. I cannot thank her enough for how much she worked for us.
Before we had deided on the Sheraton Gunther Hotel for the reception, we had met with other event coordinators for other venues and none of them seemed as professional and genuinely knew what needed to be done in everything. She gave us all confidence and she delivered. A HUGE THUMBS UP for Stacey.

Also Mustafa was very very helpful and very polite Man. He also took care of us during the reception. All in all you have an amazing staff. Will very much recommend it to other friends and perhaps we will have another wedding there in the future...

Choosing a reception venue is never easy, however, we booked the Sheraton- Gunter about a year before our wedding. Tina really got to know us as a couple. She kept us in the loop, let us make the final decisions, while providing good advice on her experience with weddings. The day of the wedding she put us before anyone else, and made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. We absolutely appreciate everything she did for us! We would also like to recognize the entire Sheraton-Gunter staff as they were professional, helpful, friendly, and made us feel very welcome! They all helped make our day the most memorable, and best day of our lives!

Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and the reception was stress free thanks to the wonderful staff and Tina at the Gunter Hotel. From our first meeting, Tina projected a hands-on and caring attitude that set the Gunter apart from similar venues in downtown San Antonio. The ballroom is gorgeous on it's own and does not require much to make the space memorable for your event.

Stacy Seaborn was our coordinator for the Sheraton and helped so much with pre-planning and helped run the show during the reception.She did an amazing job with keeping everything cal, making sure I didn't worry about small issues she ran into. The ballroom itself was exactly what I wanted. I even asked her to make a different napkin design than they usually do and she did it no problem. My husband also wanted a private dinner with just the two of us and she made it happen, even though they really don't do that. The head of catering was also great. He stayed all night and made sure that we had everything we needed. At the beginning of the evening he came up to my husband, my dad, mom and me and got our drink orders before the reception started. The whole evening was seamless and exactly what I wanted. Since my husband and I ate separately we had different food than the guests. So the next day I asked everyone what they thought of the food. They said it was so good they wanted to keep eating. The only issue I heard from my guests after the fact is that anytime they would get up from the table to dance their food and drinks were cleared. So they had to go back to the bar and get another drink.

But truly this was a great spot to have a Riverwalk reception. Everyone loved the convenience to other bars, restaurants. Loved it all!

My wedding was held on May 17, 2014 at the Sheraton Gunter and it was everything I wished for and more! We had several friends and family coming in from out of town and they loved that the hotel was located near the Riverwalk and that it's both historic yet has modern updates. Stacy, onsite coordinator, was awesome to work with and the week leading up to the wedding, I didn't have to worry about anything. And since I don't live in San Antonio, she was a great source for vendor recommendations-- flowers, photographer/ video and photo booth. All the uplighting is done in house so that was one less vendor I had to work with as well.
Also, food is great! Hotel food can sometimes be a miss but we chose the steak and scallop pairing for our entree and it was very yummy- all of our guests complimented the food and said it was so good. I would definitely recommend this venue for anyone trying to have a classic San Antonio wedding in the heart of downtown. Staff takes care of you and I definitely had my dream wedding, can't wait to see the pics.

Fantastic venue for a wedding. Stacy was extremely attentive and helpful throughout the whole process, especially the rehearsal when our Reverend didn't show up. We do not live in San Antonio, so having someone there to answer all our questions for us was great. The hotel itself was spectacular, however they changed it to be more modern and lost the old feel and charm it had when I picked it a year prior.
I docked the professionalism because of some of the staff at the front desk weren't very helpful when my guests were trying to check in and their rooms weren't ready yet, especially those that had to get to the rehearsal dinner by 4pm after driving in from Houston. It was only a select few staff, and that can happen anywhere you go, so I don't want to say bad things about the Sheraton as a whole.

Stacy at the Sheraton Gunther Hotel was terrific. Her sense of organization and polite, timely responses to our questions and concerns were both efficient and comforting. A couple members of the hotel wait staff after the reception commented to us that in their 12 years of service at the hotel, ours was the best function (in terms of apparent guest enjoyment and guest courtesy) that they had worked. Well done all around!

I got married here September 3, 2011. Everything was beautiful! Diana was a pleasure to work with and very knowledgeable. The only thing that I didn't like was that the meal I had at the tasting was not prepared the same way for the wedding day (for example, we ordered the stuffed chicken with the gravy and on the wedding day it was just a chicken breast with gravy but it wasn't stuffed). The food was still very good though.

My husband and I had our wedding here in October 2014. We were very happy with the way everything turned out. From the wonderful service to the food and the ballroom, everything went perfectly. Stacy Seaborn, the catering manager, was extremely attentive and made sure I didn't worry about anything the day of the wedding. If you're looking for a classy hotel with excellent customer service, have your event at the Sheraton Gunter Hotel in SA.

Tina Gonzales was amazing event planner. Sheraton Gunter is a beautiful hotel and highly recommend you plan you wedding event there. I must say the honesty and integrity of hotel staff (most especially Housekeeping) is a quality a business needs to be successful. My daughter left her wallet behind during her stay there and was turned into lost and found by Hk and returned to her intact.

There is a lot of miscommunication at the hotel because of the constant turnover. We were running 2 hours late because of a front desk error. There were so many things that went wrong. I picked this place because of the first manger Stacy. Then she was replaced and it all went downhill from there.

Changed review they cancelled my wedding 58 days out!

Where do I even begin with this nightmare of a hotel? My future husband and I booked this hotel for our wedding of 11/01/2020 with David. We chose them over The Menger due to budget and overall look. Not only did it take them 4 weeks to take my deposit but David eventually quit in January and no follow up was told to us until we decided to take engagement pictures (Red flags from the beginning).
Fast forward to March 2020 when Daniel became our new wedding coordinator without any sympathy of having to meeting a new coordinator and try to plan a wedding during COVID he immediately requested us to pay since David did hold our payment agreement correctly (not our fault but their lack of accounting and staff.). Another red flag we should have cancelled but again due to contract reasons we just decided to stay.
July 2020 I speak with Daniel again following up on the wedding and if we could still have our wedding of 150 guests or less. Daniel "Confidently" stated of course we are having a wedding this month and we see no near future issues on why we would need to cancel your wedding. I was less concerned and made our payment everything seemed fine and good to go and I mailed our invites out.
September 1st,2020. I emailed Daniel following up since we are now 60 days out from our wedding and he asks for my vendors list so he can reach out times for them to view and we finalize our wedding dinner menu. Everything seemed great till Friday September 4th,2020 Daniel asks I call him off his cell phone since he is out of the office for the holiday weekend (convenient timing). He proceeds to tell me they are cancelling my wedding due to low staff and will be refunding me. 24 hours after he led me on about my menu and my vendors just to cancel on a holiday weekend (EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL). Daniel stated they had to "convince" a "nicer" hotel to take us and that was the only compensation they could offer (How pathetic/ unprofessional wording).
58 DAYS they cancelled my wedding 58 DAYS before and no this is not COVID related because I work in accounting they would have forecast low staff well over 120 days in advance.
San Antonio future brides or even vendors stay VERY FAR away from this unprofessional establishment. Not only did just the wedding coordinator break this bad news not a single person from management has called to apologize for this inconvenience.
SAVE YOUR MONEY. They will change the price of your wedding multiple times and keep adding things little by little. Very shady and does not deserve any San Antonio wedding at
