Don is the man you want as your JP!

Look no further! Don IS the guy you want to perform your ceremony. He took real time to get to know us as individuals, and as a couple, to understand our unique story; moreover, how to communicate it meaningfully to our guests. He worked with us to create a ceremony that was truly ours, incorporating all of the elements that make us the couple we are and allowing our guests to see that he really knew us as people. Don was poignant, entertaining, well-spoken, and he created a memorable ceremony that had personal meaning from beginning to end. We could not have found a better person to join us in marriage!

You won't find a better person

Don was amazing from the beginning. He accommodated a skype call with one of us with him, the other in England. He told us of his experience, listened to our story, and asked really relevant questions. We explained the type of service we wanted and he did not disappoint. A number of the guests commented on his service and it being the best they had attended.

Wonderful!

It was wonderful. We wanted something small, quiet, and tasteful, and that is exactly what we received. Don was very helpful, and made this so much easier for us. He also has a beautiful garden area that can be used for the services. Thank you Don.

Don is the bomb! Seriously, he is fun and very professional. My now husband and I are quite laid back and the only thing we knew we wanted was a short ceremony. Don listened to our story of how we met and made an absolutely amazing ceremony for us! Our guest thought the ceremony was wonderful. It was funny, it was sweet, and it was the perfect length! Don has not only married my husband and I, but also my sister and her husband, and our friends. We will hands down recommend Don to all our friends and family! Thank you Don, we love you!

Don was an absalutely amazing at capturing the exact vision we had for our wedding ceremony. In the brief time we spoke he managed to ask all the right questions and answer all the questions we didn't know we had....he took the time to get to know our story and he truly "fit" our celebration perfectly! His way with words and the beautiful things he said were truly heart felt and both my husband and I could not have asked for a better officiant!!! What an amazing job!!!!!

Don, The Gay JP, was incredible! Don married my brother and brother-in-law several years ago. I was so impressed by Don's officiation of their ceremony. It was so personalized to their relationship as a couple. It was so them. When it came time for me to find a JP to officiate my wedding, I immediately thought of Don. My brother sent me Don's contact info and I emailed him right away. I chuckled because Don's contact info was The Gay JP and I'm not gay. I emailed Don, mentioned that he'd married my brother and brother-in-law, and asked if he'd marry a heterosexual couple. He called me back right away, said he remembered my brother and brother-in-law and agreed to work with my fiancé and I. He was very responsive with both emails and phone calls. He ended up officiating 2 ceremonies for us. My husband's son was visiting from out of state and we wanted to do something special with just him and our parents and siblings. Don worked with us and we catered our ceremony to be about my husband, step-son and I becoming a family. It was so unique and family focused. We then did another ceremony with our friends and extended families. Don helped us cater that ceremony and make it more about us as a couple celebrating with our extended family and friends. It too was unique and so us as a couple. Don was so thorough and detail oriented. He got to know us as a couple and worked with us to make both of our ceremonies us. I can't say enough. He was amazing! I highly recommend Don, The Gay JP.

We thank Don Gentile for having the understanding and concern to lend a much greater depth and dignity, than we knew we wanted, to what would otherwise have been an awkwardly impromptu marriage ceremony.

Don was INCREDIBLE! He did an interview with us right after we booked him for our wedding and he wrote a 2600 words speech about our love stories and love/relationship in general... He made it sooo touching. Even though he asked for our opinions we didn't change a single word. Many of my guests asked us for his name after the ceremony. Strongly strongly recommend!!!

For us, the wedding ceremony was perhaps the most important aspect of our wedding (which is saying a lot, because we love to party ;-). We're not religious, but we still wanted the ceremony to capture the spirit of who we are as a couple, and to include ceremonial elements. Don blew us, and our guests, away. The ceremony was a blend of teary moments and laughs--just what we wanted.

This wouldn't have happened if he hadn't taken the time to meet with us in person, and follow-up with questions multiple times on email and over the phone. He is truly dedicated to making the ceremony personal and special for the couple. Additionally, he helped us think through every detail of the program--from who we should include to what he should wear. Throughout the process, he was flexible, incredibly sensitive, and devoted.

Our guests have remarked that it was one of the most amazing and personal ceremonies they have ever attended, and this couldn't have happened without Don. We consider our choice to work with him as one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We highly recommend him to any couple seeking the same experience--one that is filled with joy, laughter, and sincerity.

We found Don online and contacted him to set up an appointment. Our first meeting was at an adorable coffee shop in Branford. Within 5 minutes of meeting him- we knew he was our guy! He spent a good amount of time with us- learning about how we met…our families…friends- how we felt about one another. It felt like we were old friends! The day of our wedding- Don came in to greet me before the ceremony and immediately put me at ease. The ceremony was absolute perfection. It was like he has known us all along. I cannot tell you how many people said it was the best ceremony they had ever witnessed. It was funny, romantic and personal- everything we hoped for. We cannot recommend Don enough! He is just wonderful- and absolutely made our wedding perfect!

He provided us with a ceremony that we'll never forget. He was professional, kindhearted, and added a pinch of humor where appropriate. Don was so open to making suggestions, but was also extremely open to hearing and incorporating our ideas which made him very easy to work with.
He gave us the guidance to put together, with his help, the perfect ceremony for us without ever making us feel pushed in one direction or another. He made the process fun and completely personal and was willing to work with our schedules to get the details worked out.
He made our ceremony exactly what we hoped that it would be and even exceeded our expectations which is saying a lot. We had more compliments from our guests on our unique and personal ceremony than on any other aspect of our day by far. If you're looking to make your ceremony completely personal and unique to you, I can't imagine recommending anyone higher than I can recommend Don.

Now that the craziness dust has settled, we wanted to reach out to you to thank you for everything you did to make our day special. We felt like we didn't get a chance to give you a proper goodbye at the wedding. I guess people were right when they said it would all be a big blur :) We really appreciate everything you did, from the initial meeting down to the ceremony. We got several compliments in regards to your service. Our family and friends noted about how wonderful, personalized and heartfelt your words were, with one person stating "it was like he's known you both for 20 years". It was truly an amazing, wonderful, perfect day all around and we couldn't have asked for anything more.

Don is a wonderful person, with a good heart and soul. It was a pleasure to have him marry my husband and I on Friday, January 9, 2014, It will always be a special day as Don accommodated our wishes to be married
the first snowfall of 2015. On the shores of Stony Creek in the midst of of our "mini blizzard" he performed the ceremony. Don got to know us well and the 30 years we have been together The service reflected

Don was fantastic! We cannot speak highly enough of him and the ceremony that he helped us create. Hopefully the following will help you understand the fantastic service he provided, his care and attention to detail.

My wife and I first met Don at a coffee shop so that we could all get to know each other, and make sure that he would be a good fit for the ceremony that we envisioned. In this time we discussed our backgrounds and any family traditions we might have, as well as our relationship in general.

When we found how thoughtful and professional, yet friendly, warm and open he was, we knew that he would be a fantastic fit for us.

Don used his notes from our initial discussion to create a personal ceremony that perfectly captured the emotions of the event. Although our ceremony was very simple, Don was open to just about anything.

Don was amazing. We met with him and went over what kind of ceremony we were looking for, and he asked us a lot of questions about ourselves - how we met, etc. We weren't looking for anything formal, and we had some silly things we wanted incorporated, and he delivered. He was awesome!

He sent us a few different drafts of our ceremony, and was totally willing to make some small changes for us. He gave us the perfect balance of silly and sentimental. Our service was cute and playful, but never crossed the line. He incorporated our love of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The Princess Bride, and other movies into a 15-20 minute service that got just as many laughs as tears. People kept telling us for weeks that it was the best wedding ceremony they'd ever seen, and I agree! I would definitely recommend him to anyone!

Don was the JP for our wedding at the beginning of this month and we could not be happier with our choice. Don did a beautiful job on our wedding day. He met with us early on to get a feeling for who we were and what kind of ceremony we wanted. He provided us with his notes for the ceremony days before the wedding so we could provide input and make any changes. The ceremony was beautiful thanks in large part because of Don....it was a very special day.

Don was amazing. We knew when we first met him that he was who we wanted to officiate our wedding. He is very funny and smart. He was very responsive and talked with me many times to help me learn about the different parts of a wedding ceremony and to help me figure out what we wanted to include or leave out. He really knows what he's doing and shows how much he loves what he does which makes you really happy to have him a part of your special day.
He helped us come up with an amazing ceremony that we got a ton of compliments on. It was perfect. We couldn't imagine having had our day without him. He felt like a part of our family and I would recommed him to anyone looking for an officiant for your wedding! Thank you Don!

My wife and I met with Don, the gay J.P., a few months before our wedding and instantly we knew that he was who we wanted to marry us! He not only took the time in explaining how everything works but he really got to know us on a personal level. We walked away from that initial meeting smiling ear to ear knowing that he would make this special. He did not disappoint! In the months leading up to the wedding he was always available for any questions we had. We could not have asked for a more beautiful ceremony. Don did an incredible job in articulating and capturing us as a couple. After the ceremony many of our guests approached us to tell us how wonderful Don was. Don was great from the first email through our send off as a newly married couple. We met Don a few weeks prior to our ceremony and it was a magical meeting. We felt comfortable and connected with him right away. He asked us insightful questions about ourselves and our relationship which he turned into a beautiful, inspiring ceremony. He made everything simple, elegant, and romantic.

Don made our moments into memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. We highly recommend him. He gave our ceremony the perfect touch by getting to know us in just a few minutes by asking probing questions that enlightened him to what makes us a match. He is wonderful. Don wrote our entire wedding ceremony and it couldn't have fit us more perfectly. He made it intimate and romantic. He made us feel as if we were the most important couple in the world.

My partner of 28 years became my legally wedded wife on Oct.5 2013. We wanted our wedding to reflect how special our relationship was. Choosing the right J.P. was crucial for us. We are so fortunate to have found Don! He took the time to get to know us and helped us craft a ceremony that truly reflected our love. Don was always responsive to all of our many questions and needs. He is warm, genuine and was truly as vested in our day as we were.
I would strongly encourage anyone looking for their J.P. to contact Don. He's the difference between a "nice" wedding or the most memorable day in your life.

Don was the perfect choice to officiate our small, backyard ceremony. We selected him after reading his wonderful online reviews, and as soon as we met for a drink to discuss our plans we knew we had found the perfect JP. He is incredibly professional, helpful, loves what he does, and has a very calming demeanor that helped ease the anxiety that comes with planning a ceremony. We couldn't recommend him more! He is just fantastic.

The Gay JP really provided a wonderful service for my partner and I. We traveled to CT from Atlanta, GA and he gave us so much information and took the time to find out what we wanted. We chose a small Civil Ceremony as we are having a wedding in August. The people at the town hall were also very nice and when we told them the name of our JP they were even nicer. The ceremony was more than I expected the word really spoke to us and we appreciate the time he took to deliver this very important message.

We had some crazy demands, less than a week to go, a tight budget, and lots of nerves... but Don (the Gay JP) made everything super smooth. A great public speaker and writer, he fit the atmosphere perfectly and was not only professional but outright LOVED by our family. Don't go to anyone else, seriously!

Where do we begin to discribe the kind of person Don is. Warm, wonderful, spiritual these are just a few words my husband and I can start with. We met with Don about 2 months before our wedding. Instantly we knew that Don was the man for us. Our service was amazing! Our guests could not stop talking about the sermon that Don gave. Some of their quotes were "now, I know what love is" or my personal favorite "I want to get divorced, so he can remarry me.". Do yourself a favor and sit down with Don, so you can feel the love he has to give and you will be just as happy if not more than my husband and I, Don, your the BEST!

If you are ever blessed with crossing paths with Don, please take the time to stop and smell the roses. Don and I meeting was by happenstance..a complete coincidence..Although in my experiences, I am learning there are no coincidences in life. Don and I were meant to meet that December day. I don't necessarily know what I believe in, heaven, hell, God, mankind..but I DO believe there is a greater power that leads us through our lives. After our initial meeting, we kept bumping into one another over the course of a few weeks and when my husband and I decided to take "the leap", Don was our first contact. He was so extremely accommodating to us and our last minute, post Xmas, intimate wedding ceremony. We were so honored to have him marry us, knowing "our story", how fate and those wacky powers that be brought my husband and I together..and how those same powers that be brought Don into our lives.
You could not ask for a more kind, loving, sweet, caring man to bless your union by now pronouncing you "happily ever after".

Don was very helpful in walking us through the process, and vows. Our initial meeting was at 'Common Grounds' in Branford, where he made the cover of the newspaper for marrying a couple there. He met us on location at Yale to rehearse with the Whiffenpoofs. We received applause after the rehearsal, because the student body thought we had actually been married in the court yard. He joined us out for cocktails after the rehearsal with a table side performance by the Whiffenpoofs. He even danced down the aisle with us. Check out 'TNT Wedding Procession' on youtube. We couldn’t decide when to have the wedding ,and then planned at the last minute to have it on St Patrick’s Day. We called The Gay J.P. (Don) and he graciously took on the last minute challenge. Don gathered all the essential information over the phone, he usually meets with couples to ensure he gives them the kind of ceremony they are looking for, but we were as I said last minute. He was prompt and dressed in a suit with a green tie for the occasion. The ceremony was beautiful and he made it very personal with the information he acquired. He gave us a copy of the ceremony that he had beautifully put together in only a few days. Don made the day fun and enjoyable for all, especially the happy couple.

Don made our day relaxed and easy. He was easy going when we needed and
he so "got us". He listened to our story and made it into our ceremony. Our guests were so relaxed and enjoyed our ceremony more because Don knew us. We had no clue as to what we wanted beyond getting married, and Don led us along and made sure we were comfortable with what we decided upon, and gave us a stress free day! We would get married every year if possible, if only to see Don!

Don Gentile provide excellent service to my partner and I all across the board. I trusted him from the very beginning due to his professionalism. He was extremely flexible on working with us especially with our budgetary needs. He was superb in all aspects and made us feel so happy and wonderful before, during and after our commitment ceremony. His attention to detail is truly impeccable! Don is a very creative person with a lot of resources and connections in Connecticut. He is also an award winning baker! I love that cake you made especially for us Don! He made our dream a reality all in a matter of 3 weeks! He works fast and is adamant in getting everything done exactly as how we wanted everything to be. He is truly our angel and a miracle worker--he will be our friend forever. We will always have him in our hearts and will have special memories about him every time our commitment ceremony date arrives every year on August 22nd!
