My fiancé and I have hired Karen as a florist and also as our wedding planner. I just want to say that Karen is not only such a wonderful human being but has helped us with everything you can think of to make our special day spectacular. Day and night she has answered our texts, emails, and calls to help us with everything that we could possibly need. I can't imagine having a better person to work with and feel so blessed to have her as a part of our wedding! Will recommend her to absolutely EVERYONE that I know! -

I did most of the planning for my wedding myself, and because my wedding was smaller (~30 people) and all outdoors, I didn't need many flowers - I thought this would mean finding a florist on my budget would be pretty simple. Unfortunately I was very mistaken on that - and found out many florists in CO will not consider projects under a certain budget. This lead to a lot of rejections, and the shops who were close to my budget would leave me waiting for a week or more at a time for a response. Basically - flowers became a very stressful part of my planning process.
I've used Thumbtack many times before for housework/electrical, etc, and thought it might be worth a try for a wedding florist. Luckily - Karen at Garden Path Co responded the same day, and was very attentive to what I wanted - all within my budget!
You probably need to be a bride to understand the relief it is when you find a great vendor - almost everything during planning increases or adds to your stress, and Karen immediately took so much stress off my plate. She got on the phone with me and spent over an hour of her time listening to what I wanted, making recommendations - and even gave me other great vendors to look at.
In my budget ($1500 and under), every florist refused to come up to my venue to set up - so I pretty much knew I was picking up my flowers and going to have to decorate myself. Karen offered to make the 2-3 hr drive to set them up myself so I wouldn't have to worry about it. Ultimately I didn't end up needing her to do that because a friend of mine offered to set the flowers up for me, but it was so appreciated she was willing to do that!
I also had wanted a floral garland for a wedding arch, and had been told that wasn't possible without paying for flower delivery and setup. I found myself trying to accept cutting out the wedding arch, flowers for my cake, and to tuck into my hair to try and cut back costs.
Garden Path worked with me to make sure I had extra flowers for my hair, they let me borrow their wildflower vases at no extra cost (everyone else was charging $10+ per vase rental ontop of the flower costs), and they made me a beautiful garland for my arch and supplies to hang it up myself. This worked out perfectly, and my friend was able to hang up the garland with just some nails and garden wire the morning of the wedding.
The flowers the day of were so beautiful and really brought the wedding together - it was mountain wildflower inspired, and the mix of wildflowers and beautiful arrangements were the perfect touch to our outdoor wedding. I am so happy with how it turned out, and really can't thank Karen enough for making my vision come true without having to compromise!

Kellie Sent on 11/06/2015Karen and Garden Path Co. didn't just do my flowers but primarily my wedding planning before and day-of - and let me tell you, SHE WAS AWESOME. I planned my wedding from another state and Karen helped keep me on track and was always in touch with where I was at and what needed to be done. She was professional but really sweet and I trusted her a lot. So then comes the walkthrough, the day after I arrived in CO, and she completely put my mind at ease. She just knew what to do, knew how to run the show, and I believed that she would be able to pull all the strings on the wedding day. At the rehearsal, I had been crying all morning and was just not in a good way, and Karen took their reins yet again and made it so that I didn't have to do any work or direct anyone without her help and knowledge. After that came the wedding, and I was just thrilled all day. No stress, except for one tiny moment when we were rushing at the end of pictures/cocktail hour. Other than that, I felt free as a bird and knew that my wedding day was in great hands with Karen. Moreover, the flowers were PERFECT down to the tiniest detail! It was a fantastic day and I know that this was largely in part to Karen's awesome talent for wedding planning, and I LOVED having her! Thanks Karen, for everything; brides, if you're looking for a wedding planner/florist, this is your gal. -

I don't know much about flowers and they were not at the top of my priority list but ended up being one of my favorite things about my wedding. I never saw a mockup of the flowers but instead described my vision to Karen and she took it and ran. My flowers were beautiful and completely in line with the vision I had. -
User923014 Sent on 09/05/2012The flowers were gorgeous. But what we had discussed at our meeting was not was delivered. The flowers were the same, but not the colors or the combinations. What was delivered was gorgeous and amazing. But I didn't get a throw away bouquet so I wasn't able to do the bouquet toss at the end of the evening which was a disappointment. If you decide to use Garden Path, I would suggest constantly following up on everything that was discussed so that everyone is on the same page.

Our contracts with Brides are made in a post-consult proposal on paper. we are available to our brides throughout the planning stage, and offer to make any changes up to two weeks prior to the wedding, and do a comprehensive finalizing one week before the date. we update any changes we need regarding flower availability and current market pricing.

My bouquet was beautiful as were the small hand held's for both the mother of the bride and mother of the groom. However, the floral arrangement that was discussed and planned for the ceremony on the pergola never made it to the wedding. Instead, the florists changed the design plan and went with 2 arrangements on the pergola. It was to my surprise when I walked out to the ceremony that what I had requested and what was planned is not what was received. When questioned why the plan had changed without notice, there wasn't a clear explanation. I had a small wedding of 30 guests, no wedding party, a limited budget and a clear vision. -

Monique Sent on 06/06/2012I was very disappointed with the flowers on the day of my wedding. When I first met with this vendor, I pointed out pictures of what I wanted for my centerpieces and thought that we were on the same page. The notes she took were hand written and later we transferred to a typed e-mail that was very general and didn't go into detail about exactly which flowers would be used. Later when it got closer to my wedding date, I was reviewing with her one more time what the flowers would be. At this time I discovered that she wasn't including the main flower that I had requested for my centerpieces and she now wanted to increase the charge of my flowers to include the flower that I had thought was already being used. Plus we had to change another flower in the centerpieces because of the vases I provided and this additional cost was find with me. However on the day of my wedding, the flowers I had paid extra for were still included in the centerpieces at all. If you go with this vendor, make sure that you get every flower that will be included in the displays listed out in writing and view a put together example of the centerpieces before your big day to ensure it is the vision you are going for.
In response to Karen's comments that were added:
Karen: Monique and I met several times before her wedding. A relative had created the most beautiful art pieces for her centerpieces. However, her request to use gladiolas in them were not achievable, and we met in person with one of the pieces to make adjustments.
My response: Karen is correct in that we were not able to accommodate the gladiolas (which Karen called the funeral flower) in the vases that I provided. We did agree to different flowers and I was fine with the additional costs to the flowers to be able to include the orchids instead of gladiolas. However my issue was I didn't get what I paid for. There were no orchids in my centerpieces and also no white roses which I had also paid more for.
Karen: The replacement flowers of orchids, roses and hydrangeas were more expensive than her original choice, hence the increase in price.
My Response: I knew that the orchids would be an additional cost and that is why I had avoided them from the start. However I had mentioned from day one that I wanted ivory/white roses to be in the centerpieces. My dress' train was covered in roses and so I wanted that to be the main flower through out. It was suppose to be Victorian and instead I got wildflowers and farm house style.
Karen: We consulted in person regarding this and she approved the cost. In addition, she had an opportunity to see her flowers the day of her wedding, she was at my shop 4 hours ahead, but chose not to come in.
My Response: I of course approved the cost because at that point it was a week before my wedding and I had no other choice but to continue with Karen. I did ask to view the flowers ahead of time and was urged to not do so by Karen because she said "It's bad luck to see the flowers before the wedding. Just be surprised!" I was concerned and wanted to check her work and she insisted that it was a horrible idea. Unfortunately one of my larger vases had broken and so I had to replace it with one of the smaller ones just before the wedding. I tried to stop by the shop three different times before the wedding and each time the shop was closed in the middle of the day. I finally was able to get the final vase to Karen the day of the wedding and that is when I tired to see the flowers and I was denied access to them. Since it was my wedding day and I was in a hurry, I left my flowers to fate and was clearly disappointed.
Karen: I am surprised and disappointed that she has not contacted me personally regarding her dissatisfaction, we strive for excellence at all levels and have since 1982.
My Response: I tried several times to contact Karen once I was back from my honeymoon and I was unable to reach her. She did not return my calls and did not respond to my e-mails. The only response I have had from her has been this post on wedding wire that she made.
The fact of the matter is...I paid for orchids and ivory roses in my flowers and I didn't get them. The pictures that I showed her were ignored and the look I was going for was not achieved. Flowers are flowers and of course they were still pretty. How can a flower not be? But 'I' knew that the flowers were not what I paid for. I am a pretty level headed person and I have posted mostly great reviews for future brides to review. I am not trying to be vindictive. I am only trying to warn future brides of the experience that I had with Karen and her flowers.the garden path co's reply:
