Backyard Wedding Perfection!

Drew and his team are AMAZING!! My husband and I hired Drew to cater our backyard wedding over MDW 2021. We had about 130 guests and to this day family and friends rave about how much they enjoyed the food at our wedding, everything from passed hors d’oeuvres to entrees and desserts were out of this world! My dad even asked for a second entree he loved his dinner so much…Father of the Bride approved!! To top it off Drew is so incredibly kind and easy to work with, easily one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding. It was a dream day and we truly had a dream team.

A Great Company That Did a Great Job!

The Fruited Plain Caterers catered our wedding in October of 2021. Drew and his team did a spectacular job! Their food was delicious (more than a dozen of our guests have gone out of their way to tell us since the event) and the reception flowed very smoothly.

In addition to preparing the food, his team helped us order rental chairs, linens, etc, staffed the bar, and set up/took down almost everything in the hall.

Drew is very knowledgable and was a great resource as we planned our wedding. He helped us deal with some dietary restrictions as we started planning, and then helped to make the 1-year postponement of our wedding that COVID caused relatively easy. When the time came to get to planning again, he worked with us when we completely changed the format and size of the event (due to COVID).

He even coordinated the pickup of all of the rental chairs, linens, etc. while we were on our honeymoon so that we did not need to worry about it.

In short, I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Wonderful and professional

The Fruited Plain catered my daughters backyard bridal shower on what was probably one of the hottest days of the summer. Between the heat and the issues of hosting during a pandemic, Drew and his team handled it all with ease. We chose them because of their unique menus, and they did not disappoint. Food was wonderful! I would highly recommend them for small and large events.

The Fruited Plain Caterers Exceeded my Expectations!

The Fruited Plain did a fantastic job catering our daughter’s backyard wedding for a very reasonable price. As a worrywart, perfectionist, and former restaurateur, I have high standards and The Fruited Plain exceeded my expectations, allowing me the freedom to enjoy the special day. The food was delicious and well-presented, the staff was friendly and professional, and the set-up/clean-up was quick and efficient.
From the beginning, Drew, the owner, listened to our ideas and was receptive to our concerns. He made covid safety suggestions and his team implemented protective practices. Drew also arrived early in the day to scout the lay of the land, provided everything needed plus extra serving equipment at no additional cost, and crafted a well-planned non-dairy, gluten-free and nut-free menu so that all could enjoy.
The catering staff of servers and chef were polished professionals and downright sweet. From drinks & passed hors d’oeuvres to coffee & cake, these experts went above and beyond all night long by attending to the needs of the bride and groom and their grandparents, by maintaining a smooth orderly flow without ever being obtrusive, and by leaving our home cleaner than they found it (they swept & mopped!). They even took care of my elderly, disabled dog! From our positive experience and the tons of praise piled on by our guests, it’s clear that The Fruited Plain caterers are exceptional. We’re grateful for their expertise and kindness and highly recommend them!

Amazing! Couldn’t be happier!

This was the best experience I had with a vendor for my cozy backyard wedding. Drew and his team were nothing but professional. Drew was amazing. He was kind and extremely attentive to detail, the food was beyond awesome, and all the guests could not stop raving about our menu! His staff cleaned everything, set up everything, and left the place how they found it. I recommend a tasting if you can, you’ll be blown away! Lamb chops all the way!!

The Fruited Plain, Morristown, NJ

Drew & his staff catered my daughter in laws bridal shower and I can't say enough about our wonderful experience. The food was both delicious & presented beautifully, Drew fulfilled every wish with passed appetizers, some favorites were chicken & waffles, london broil crostini's and tempura shrimp to name a few, than displayed Covid friendly appetizers which were amazing, individual veggie cups & skewers tomato, mozzarella, basil. Also provided us with hot chaffing dishes of penne vodka, delicious salmon and chicken francais. Every dish was equally great, everyone raved for weeks about the food & wonderful service from the staff he brought. This is the second big party they have catered for us and we will be using them again! Highly recommend for any occasion, awesome to work with!!

Delicious food served up with a smile

Drew and team put together an unforgettable experience for my sister's wedding earlier this summer - between the coordination and preparation for 200 people, to the flawless execution of delivering delishious, hot meals with unbelievable flavors, Drew and his team were a 10/10. I attended nearly one dozen weddings this past summer / fall, and the food and flavors (from the apps to the main courses) from Drew's team were the best. Wonderful Caterer

Drew and his team made our wedding day spectacular! He went above and beyond to suit all of our needs and wishes. His staff was extremely friendly and professional. We did not have a single second where we felt like our guests weren't taken care of. The food exceeded all of our expectations and more. Drew made sure that we felt comfortable with our choices before the big day too. He accommodated multiple tastings to ensure that we were happy. The bartenders were also amazing. We gave them our recipes and with no questions asked they made them come to life. People could not stop talking about the drinks all night! I highly recommend The fruited Plain team! Worry-free Wedding reception

What did it take for our small wedding reception to be completely worry-free? Drew and The Fruited Plain Caterers! Having an outdoor wedding reception on October 19 on our back deck could have been "hit or miss" because of the uncertainty of the weather. But Drew connected us with the right rental company and the heated tent was AMAZING!!! With 25% of our guests being vegetarians we needed a caterer who could deliver deliciousness to all our guests. Drew totally hit it! We opted for a family style luncheon and got raving reviews on the quality of the food. From the first contact email 12 months ago, to the last dish put away on wedding day, we felt we were in great hands with a consummate professional. Drew was flexible enough to accommodate some of our special requests, and because we were dealing with the company owner, decision-making was straight forward. His servers were professional, efficient and friendly. My kitchen was probably cleaner after they left than it was before they arrived! And if all that wasn't enough, honesty and integrity were also a key aspect of our working with Drew. He caught a staffing level mistake on our final invoice and personally delivered a refund check for the amount we had overpaid. Now THAT's someone I will be working with again, and recommending without hesitation to all my friends!

From one foodie to another - THE BEST

Working with Drew and the Fruited Plain was the best decision of my entire wedding day!!! They were super professional, SUPER delicious, and thorough from start to finish. They even accommodated several tastings for my very particular wife (ha!). Every guest at the wedding RAVED about the food which I feel is hard to come by. The most unique wedding menu ever at a great price!

The Fruited Plain team is everything you could hope for in a caterer.
UNIQUE MENU: They crafted the most scrumptious and distinctive menu I have ever seen for a wedding. So much time and effort was put into the menu that truly stood out against all other weddings.
DELICIOUS FOOD: I can't say enough about how tasty the food was. Fruited Plain uses high quality ingredients which makes the food so incredible! They are masters at their craft. Our guests are still raving about the food a month later. Several people have already booked Fruited Plain for other engagements!
IMPECCABLE SERVICE: Drew was a logistics wizard and planned everything with such ease. He handled all our rentals for our wedding at The Frelinghuysen Arboretum which took so much stress off our plate. The staff Drew brought on site were the most friendly, helpful and fun people to work with. Our guests loved them and we felt so taken care of! Drew was very responsive, knowledgeable, professional and so much fun to work with. He really became a friend through the process.

Exceptional Value, Wonderful Experience

Drew was amazing. I don't know how else to put it! We met with a bunch of different caterers and everything with The Fruited Plain felt different from the start. We enjoyed every aspect of the process and Drew was so helpful along the way. Nothing ever seemed to overwhelm him, and he was so great at helping to calm us down when we were feeling stressed. He is a true professional and master of his craft.

He also worked with the rental company to supply EVERYTHING we needed for our venue. I can't tell you what it was like to have that support!

On the day of the wedding, I remember seeing Drew after our first look, and it was genuinely like seeing a friend at our wedding. We were just happy to see him and glad he was there. The entire team was helpful, friendly and professional.

Now...the important part....the food. Ohhhhh yeah. So good. The cocktail hour was amazing. Drew and his team concoct such delicious, and unique, food options that we had a hard time selecting!!! We went with a buffet option for our dinner and, again, the food was amazing and Drew's team kept everything running smoothly.

We got married a month ago, and we still get compliments about the food at our wedding. We have recommended him to everyone we know and already have people looking to book him. If you are reading this, and wondering if The Fruited Plain is right for you, the answer is yes. You won't regret it.

Another wonderful experience working with Drew. We used the Fruited Plains for both of my daughters’ weddings and could not have been more happy with that decision. Drew was so easy to work with. He structured our menu to accommodate our theme. The day of the wedding his staff could not have been more attentive. Obviously I used him twice and would use him again if I had another child getting married.

Drew and his team were wonderful! They are professionals who know what they are doing so we never had to be nervous that something was not going to happen or not going to happen well. He is organized and knowledgable, which made the process from beginning to end really easy and smooth. He is also a really nice guy and very responsive! In addition to the service being great, the food was also fantastic! We had really great feedback from all of our guests and what we were able to eat during the event was delicious. He has a really nice mix of options and everything was yummy and presented beautifully. His staff was also really lovely and very sociable--by the end of the night our friends and family knew the bartenders' names and they were the life of the party! Very professional staff and delicious food. Drew was a great help for my daughter's wedding. She is vegan and was obsessed in having vegan and healthy food. My main concern was out guest and how to please everyone's taste. Drew pulled it off with a very creative and delicious menu. Drew and his staff were exceptional!! We used the Fruited Plain for our wedding at the Glen Ridge Women's Club. The guests were very impressed with the hors d'oeuvres service and cocktail hour! Drew and the staff of The Fruited Plain made our wedding so amazing and unique. In a world of pasta and chicken buffet events, The Fruited Plain makes incredibly delicious and diverse cuisine that leaves you having dreams about food. My husband and I had an incredible repertoire of hors d'oeuvres, a delicious and exotic Hawaiian buffet, and a dessert bar complete with hot chocolate whiskey shots that Drew (the owner/chef) concocted himself especially for us, and our guests are still raving about it all! My only regret of the evening was wearing a tight wedding dress which deeply restricted the amount of pork buns I could eat during cocktail hour! The Fruited Plain is extremely accommodating, flexible, responsive, and creative. Drew's passion for his work really shone through in the form of how amazing and customized our event was. Drew and his team are all amazing! They are so kind, friendly, personable and really care about making your experience a good one. We heard rave reviews from our guests about the food and about the team in general. The Eggplant Rollatini was an especially big hit. We didn't serve any meat at our wedding (we had one fish dish) and no one seemed to miss it! Drew even went out of his way to make three vegan meals for me and a couple of guests. Big wins for the environment and the animals <3 The bartenders were also fantastic and we heard wonderful things about our specialty cocktails.

Would 100% recommend The Fruited Plain and would hire them again in a heartbeat.

We had Fruited Plain cater our wedding and it was fantastic. We got loads of compliments from our guests about the food. The staff was very professional and friendly. The wedding was also entirely outdoors, requiring a lot of planning. They handled everything seamlessly.

We also felt like we got a good price, especially in comparison to the competing vendors in the area. An overall great experience!

The Fruited Plain catered my wedding and did a spectacular job! The food looked beautiful and tasted delicious! The passed hors d'oeuvres are still the best I've ever had at any event I've attended. And the main course was so good I made sure to sit and eat the whole thing, which as the bride can be challenging to find time amidst the festivities. Everything was as we had planned in our meetings and tastings prior to the wedding day! The staff and servers were friendly, helpful, and professional making our event run smoothly with very happy wedding guests (and of course bride and groom!). We used the Fruited Plain Caterers for our wedding on August 27th 2016 and it turned out to be absolutely fantastic. First of all (and most important), the food was absolutely delicious. We expected it, as we had a tasting before, but it exceeded our expectations. We had a Stations Buffet and had three stations, and everything was absolutely scrumptious. Carving meat stations was juicy and flavorful, and I still think about the horseradish sauce that went along with it. We also had a lot of vegetarian options and Drew definitely knows how to cook vegetarian options too - our guests went crazy for Pasta Primavera.

The service was fantastic - the staff went above and beyond to be accommodating and kind, doing things that they really didn't have to - like helping guests to take pictures etc. They were incredibly professional too. Everyone was absolutely delighted.

The communication was great too - we thought it was clear and easy, and our wishes are accommodated without any problems. Drew and his team worked with our venue, with our timeline and with the feel of our wedding.

I honestly cannot recommend Drew and his team enough. Obviously food is a very big part of a really good and joyous celebration (who doesn't love a good meal, right?), and with Drew you will absolutely get fresh, amazing and delicious quality food that will satisfy you and your guests.

I am also incredibly happy that even as a bride I did eat a lot at my reception, and it was delightful.

Thank you Drew and your team for making our reception so delicious. We really can't recommend you enough, and we're extremely happy with everything.

The Fruited Plain was one of four approved caterers for our venue on Manhattan's Upper East Side. We talked to people from all four, and found Drew of the Fruited Plain to be by far the most agreeable, both in terms of price and service. The Fruited Plain did a fantastic job in every respect. The hors d'oeuvres were great, the bar service was great, the meals were great, the wait staff were great. Drew and his people drew raves from many of our guests and contributed tremendously to our wedding's success.

Drew and his team did a great job for our daughter's wedding at Willowwood. It is a beautiful spot but has challenges. Drew worked very closely to meet our wishes but if he knew we were wrong he came up with a better alternative. People raved about his food and the flow between cocktails and dinner was seamless. The men in the wedding party couldn't stop talking about how great the hot appetizers were. The evening was a little chilly so he cleverly had the couple cut the cake near the tent and then had warm coffee and cake in the barn. It was a very relaxing way to visit with guests and end the evening. His rental company also did a great job of sizing the tent and explaining set up. The next morning he and two members of his team were cheerfully setting up a delicious brunch for our guests. His quiches were great

The skies opened up and the rain poured down on us all day for our backyard wedding, but it didn't matter!
We were under the tent with family and close friends while Drew and his professional staff at the Fruited Plain made our wedding the most memorable day of our new lives together.

From the moment Drew arrived early in the afternoon, decisions were made with cool and calm as the skies threatened and the weather reports of rain were made real. This fast became a torrential downpour that lasted all evening. No longer out of the tent seating! Without missing a beat, Drew's team reorganized the tables under the tent and made it seem as if this was the plan all along. It became the start of an intimate gathering, where every person under that tent forgot about the downpour and became part of a beautiful ceremony and fun filled evening, all thanks to Drew and his staff.

We were awestruck at the way they attended to everyone’s needs, while delivering and serving the best prepared food we’ve ever tasted outside of an actual restaurant. The Fruited Plain made our vegetarian/vegan wedding a reality, without making any one of our guests wonder “where’s the beef!” Compliments abounded from almost every person there that evening. We heard over and over again how wonderful the staff was as the rain poured down. We will never forget their cheerfulness as they went about their work. They truly are an incredible team.

Drew, shepherded us through the weeks prior to the wedding. He was an absolute delight to work. From our initial tasting at his café, to working with the rental company, to the setup and execution the day of the event, no detail was missed. He was the calm at the center of the storm (literally and figuratively!).

The Fruited Plain made our wedding a magical event! We recommend them wholeheartedly.

My Wife and I needed a caterer who would be able to work in the odd, yet charming space of the Art Factory in Paterson NJ. We wanted a buffet style dinner- something our old-school Italian relatives would like as well as our younger mid-twenties friends. First and foremost, The Fruited Plain have a fantastic staff and we could not have pulled off such a successful and entertaining wedding without their help and support throughout the entire process. Not only had the staff worked in that particular space before, but were already well acquainted with working non-traditional weddings like our own. From the beginning, Drew Gabbe has been nothing but helpful in aiding us throughout the entire dining and reception process. The Fruited Plain not only provided the food and drinks, but was able to rent speakers for the occasion since my Wife and I didn't want to use a DJ or band. I can't say enough how truly remarkable the staff were. They were a lot of fun but dressed sharp and professional and were always willing to help our guests. Most importantly though, the food was fantastic. My relatives are still raving about the Bruschetta and the Chicken Parm. It was really spectacular. I would recommend The Fruited Plain for any wedding or catered event. I couldn't be more thankful for all of their great help and service.

Drew and his team did a fantastic job catering our wedding, and were a pleasure to work with throughout. We chose to work with Fruited Plain as we were looking for an alternative experience to the typical overly-expensive, rigid catering option attached to our Venue.

Drew was very flexible, willing to work around our busy work schedule to meet with us for tastings and menu selection. On the day, the Fruited Plain delivered on professionalism and great tasting food all around. We kept hearing from our guests that cocktail hour was plentiful, with constant passed hors d'oeuvres and a good variety of flavors. Dinner also got rave reviews - many people telling us that the steak (and fish, and veg. option) were some of the best they'd ever had at a wedding.

Drew was very down-to-earth throughout the process and helped to make the food selection, serving, and budget come together with the least amount of hassle possible. We highly recommend Drew & The Fruited Plain.

Choosing The Fruited Plain as my caterer for my wedding was one of the best decisions I could have ever made. I would definitely recommend their services for anyone who is looking for not only a job well done but also staff and services who go above and beyond. At first meeting with the operations manager, Drew I was nervous he wouldn't like the venue because we were getting married at a camp and it is very rustic. Upon seeing the site, he was nothing but positive and said he was so excited! It made me feel so great knowing he had no worries and had such confidence. We met several times and he was always there via email or phone if I needed to change something last minute or add something. When it came time for the wedding day, I showed up and was blown away by the execution of everything. Not only did they do everything I asked but they did more! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The entire day was a dream come true, the food was excellent, and all the guests exclaimed how much they loved the food. People said they went up for seconds the food was so great!

The Fruited Plain catered my daughter's wedding and we were very happy with their service. We were referred to the Fruited Plain by our venue. The manager said not only had The Fruited Plan catered a number of events at the venue, but several of the people who worked there had hired The Fruited Plain for personal events. For my daughter's wedding, we had to please meat eaters, vegetarian and vegans in our family. Drew was very flexible when it came to the menu, and he went out of his way to come up with recipes for vegan versions of his mashed potatoes and several other dishes, I also rented all the table service from The Fruited Plain, and the staff set the tables, put up our centerpieces and cleared the tables at the end of the evening, which was a big help. Everyone loved the food and the service was thorough and professional.

I was delighted with Fruited Plain caterers. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. So many of my guests remarked how much they liked the meal. Drew and all the staff went out of their way to make our event special. Drew made helpful suggestions during the planning, and helped me to find delicious substitutions for some of my friends with food allergies. I was really able to enjoy the day so much more, because I had no concern about the meal and its presentation.

Drew and his crew catered my daughter's wedding this past weekend. From the hors-d'oeuvres at cocktail hour through the main meal and dessert the food was out of this world. Many compliments from our guests. The food preparers, bartenders and wait staff were pleasant, courteous and went out of their way to make the whole event memorable. The wedding and reception were held at a very rustic children's summer camp which was a challenge for this caterer. But, they pulled it off effortlessly.

We had Drew and his team cater our rustic factory wedding over Memorial Day weekend. We cannot recommend Drew enough!!! He helped us through every step of planning and coordinating the food and rentals for our wedding. Because of the unique space, everything (down the lights!) had to be brought in. Not only did Drew help make this process simple, but he did so with professionalism, ease and executed an amazing evening. Drew worked with our budget and requests (and we had a lot of annoying requests!!) to create the perfect menu, suited to the space and feel we were looking for.

The food was absolutely fantastic, the presentation was elegant, and service outstanding. Without Drew's expertise, flexibility, and talent, or wedding would not have been the same!

Whatever type of wedding or event you are looking to create, Drew and his team will go above and beyond to make it an amazing experience for you and your guests!

We had The Fruited Plain handle my daughter's wedding, and were so impressed that when when planning my own wedding Drew was the first call I made. He worked with our vision and budget to come through with amazing food (at least five guests asked for the caterer's name) and stellar staff that was courteous, exhaustive and pleasant throughout the entire reception. Hands down the best catering company around. The only reason they don't charge more for the quality of food and service is because of the location. This place is amazing. 2 years ago I was looking for a place to do my wedding catering. I'm extremely picky, and a bit of a control freak- I needed someone who could step up and do the job well for a reasonable price. Not only was Drew there every single step of the way with catering, he also provided me with contact information for all of my other vendors. I went with the Cake company he suggested, and was blown away with the beauty of my cake, same with the linens, the pipe and drape rentals, the florist, and even provided Dara, his on staff wedding planner and coordinator, who was a beast when it comes to getting things done. That girl is on top of her game. She made sure that the wedding venue was stunningly beautiful, she was organized, she did the whole wedding ceremony planning, as well as the introductions for the reception, and the entire flow of the evening. Drew was there and helped me make informed and stylish decisions without spending over my budget. I know that I'm not the easiest person to communicate with, and that I'm extremely demanding, however Drew and Dara rose to the occasion. I Can't say enough good things about the quality of the service during the reception, as well as the food. I am still receiving compliments about how good the appetizers were, as well as the main dishes. Guests were blown away. Thank you Drew. I've been dreaming about this day since I was 5 years old.. and you made it perfect.

Just keep in mind that they are VERY affordable, as well as top notch service. When you use The Fruited Plain, you're promoting small business, and directly feeding and caring for families in your OWN community. Please don't pass them up. These guys.. I can't say enough great things about them.

The Fruited Plain did our wedding on October 18th and it was absolutely fantastic! We were referred to the Fruited Plain by a friend who had used them and raved about the food. From day one, Drew was quick to respond and answer any questions we had and to help out in any way. Additionally, he set up a tasting right away and everything he made for us was delicious.. we hired him to do our wedding on the spot!
The fruited Plain worked with us through out the whole planning process and did not only our food, but ended up doing our cupcake tree and cake topper, too! Everyone kept telling me how delicious the food was the day of the wedding and I'm still receiving compliments about it almost a week later!
Will will definitely hire the Fruited Plain for any future events we have that we'll need to cater. They are just fantastic people to work with and are great at what they do!

Choosing the fruited plain caterers was THE BEST decision I made in my wedding planning process!!
The food is wonderful, I had SO many guests come up to me and rave at the wedding. Drew, who is the chef, really listens to what you want, and masterfully blends flavors!
Dara, who is the wedding planner, was my right hand during the year it took to plan our event! I cannot song her praises enough, from planner, to friend, to therapist, she literally juggled everything that I threw at her with grace and poise! She is so kind, really listens to what you want, and goes above and beyond in her delivery. She also helped me find our DJ, (super sonic entertainment) who was awesome, and our officiant! (Also awesome!)
Dara and Drew were a dream team, and I 100% recommend them for any event you might need planning and catering for!

The best decision I made in all of my wedding planning, was to hire The Fruited Plain to be my caterer. When I told the banquet manager at the venue who my caterer was, she responded "you made a great choice. You won't be disappointed." And I wasn't.

From the moment I spoke with Drew, I knew I was making the best choice. I even hired them to cater a small breakfast at the hotel the next morning. Drew was an absolute pleasure to work with. His staff is wonderful. His food is delicious!

Drew and his team from The Fruited Plain went above and beyond our expectations! And, I really mean it! I am definitely a foodie and wanted fun and exciting food for my recent wedding. After taking a look at other reviews and his menu options I set up a call. Speaking with Drew was easy and efficient; we clicked I guess you could say! Our wedding had 150+ guests and Drews team served the food family style at our choice. All of our guests commented on the top quality and delicious flavors they were served. At one point I snuck back into the kitchen to eat some of the items being passed during cocktail hour, Drew quickly noticed a hungry bride and put together a little sampler! Our venue was not typical and served up plenty of challenges that Drew happily worked through. It's the little details that really made me 100% thrilled with The Fruited Plain. The crew at The Fruited Plains really helped to make our wedding an awesome day. Drew (owner, chef) and Dara (events planner and day-of coordinator) were extremely thorough and professional, keeping track of the many details associated with having a reception under a tent in a park. Drew has worked with many local vendors before, including the Parks Commission who managed our reception site, and was able to help with multiple behind the scenes arrangements including coordination with the fire marshall and rentals agency to ensure we had everything we needed. Both he and Dara were available whenever I had questions, worked around my crazy schedule, made multiple site visits to ensure we were all on the same page with the venue, and definitely helped facilitate the actual day so I could focus on the guests and enjoy. Dara kept my vendors organized and took care of a significant amount of communication in the days leading up to the event so I could handle other issues. Guests raved for weeks about Drew's food, which he definitely puts time, effort and passion into, and his staff was incredibly supportive and professional throughout the wedding reception. I completely trusted Drew and Dara's experience and opinions, and they really helped to make our wedding day as successful and enjoyable as possible.

I highly recommend The Fruited Plain to anyone looking for catering. I'm amazed that Drew was willing to cater my wedding with only a month's notice, and during his busiest time of year! He provided me with more than one catering option and was willing to provide whatever I needed to make the wedding how I wanted. I know my wedding came with some challenges, since it was on a holiday when most businesses are closed. We got all the rentals through him, which he personally delivered that morning, and he was the chef working in the kitchen! The staff was amazing, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was seamless! I am so thankful for Drew and his staff, and I hope you choose The Fruited Plain, too. You won't regret it!

You are fools to not use Drew and his awesome professional staff. Fools!!!

Linda and I had our wedding in our home on the first most beautiful day of the year. We wanted it in our home to make special memories and avoid the all too common way of having our day in a catering hall.. Drew checked out our home twice to gauge his parameters. He came with his A game and A staff. They could not have been more professional, more helpful, more kind and more sincerely involved, appreciating what we wanted to have and getting it done. Our family and friends raved for weeks about the passed hor's dourves ( bacon wrapped scallops, stuffed mushrooms and sesame chicken along with7 other hits) kept everyone happy. While we were doing pictures across the street, Drews staff came with drinks and trays to keep us all satisfied. This was over the top good.

The entrees were the best especially the egg plant parm. Everything, I mean every item he made was great. Some of the best food that could be served for any affair and it didn't stop there!

For 10 hours they cooked served ,set up tables, cleaned everything, broke down the tables so we could have a dance floor and put everything away. All we had to do was enjoy, and we did. And they did it all with a smile. Thank you Drew!

Thank you Drew. Thank you and your wonderful staff for making our special day a memory of a lifetime. You and your team are the best we have ever seen. You have no rivals or contemporaries for you are in a class all of your own.

Like I said, You are a FOOL for using or even considering anyone else for your catering needs!!!!

Drew is super amazing and has been a true blessing to my fiancee and I. From our first meeting, which he invited us to view an event he was doing and we were able to see him and his team in action. The event was beautifully executed and the food was great! Without hesitation we immediately decided Drew was the one!

We obtained a proposal which suited both our desires, and it fell safely within our budget. About a month and a half later my fiancee was laid off during the mist of our planning! We had to make major cuts to our budget. We presented our situation to Drew with the expectation we would be losing out on our deposit money and coming up with a new plan of action. But Drew told us not to worry and assured us we were still going to have an amazing day with great food.

He worked with us with nearly half of the food budget we had initially and our menu looks great!!!! We didn't have to cut our guest list or the quality of our wedding. Such a true blessing!

Thank you Drew and your very professional staff for making our family's very special day a joy and pleasure. My daughter's wedding was a great success and our family and friends all enjoyed your wonderfully prepared buffet luncheon completely. We received many raves for the food and the cake. The table setting were great and really dressed up the Schooley's Mountain Lodge, making it a beautiful wedding venue.

Drew & his team are absolutely amazing! We had over 200 guests for a reception and the presentation, food and service was outstanding! He tailored the menu specific to our desires and our guests raved about the taste and how friendly the staff was thru the entire event. If you need a day of coordinator - ask for Dara-- she is extremely organized, professional, and friendly. I will definitely use The Fruited Plain again!

Drew was FANTASTIC. When we started the wedding planning process, we were disappointed by how many vendors didn't give a rat's a** about us, as if they were doing US a favor by letting us pay them thousands of dollars. Drew was the exception. From the beginning, we was super flexible about making a menu that we wanted, offered the best value in NJ, was prompt and responsive when we had questions, and kept us in the loop throughout the planning process. Can't say enough things about him. And, most importantly of all, the food was DELISH. We are major foodies and the flavors lived up to all of our expectations. We got many compliments about the delish passed h'ourderves (people even argued about which was the best one!) and the main courses were delicious. We had steak with bearnaise sauce, carmalized onion/gorgonzola potatoes, and brussel sprouts. My mouth is litterally watering just writing this review. We are hoping that Drew will be available on an upcoming anniversary to cook us another serving of our amazing food (because the bride and groom really DONT get that much time to eat!)

It was very easy and nice to deal with Drew in preparing for my son's graduation party. The party landed on an incredibly hot day and Drew's staff were professional, flexible around threatening thunderstorms, and kept calm, cool, and collected the whole time. I have a home catered event with a server to help with the party. Colleen was outstanding and left me with virtually no dishes or clean up after the party! Everyone at the party commented on the delicious food and how wonderful the menu and service was. Thank you for making my event so special. I would definitely recommend to anyone who asks!

My husband and I met with a lot of caterers in planning our wedding. We were looking for a very specific feel for our wedding...and the food. Drew got our vision immediately. He came to our house to do a tasting and provided us options SPECIFIC to our requests (he was the only one to really "get" us). We planned a beautiful menu.

Drew's commitment to our wedding did not end with the food. He helped us organize the rentals, vendors (alcohol, flowers, etc) and the venue.

One day (23 hours) before the wedding disaster struck. Our venue (an outside venue) became unusable because it was flooded out. Drew saved the day. He offered us an alternative venue (nice, understated and tasteful). He then helped us reorient our whole event - working with the rental company and other vendors.

Without Drew and The Fruited Plain we would have had no place for our special day.

I highly recommend Drew. From the first meeting we could tell that Drew cared about our event...I had no idea how much. Drew went above and beyond in every way possible.

Beyond all this...the staff was kind, professional, well-organized and efficient. The food at the event was delicious.

On a scale of 1-5, I would rate Drew and The Fruited Plain a 10 if I could!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about their food, service, presentation and how great they were to work with. Drew was so accommodating & responsive and knew what I was envisioning without me even telling him. With all of the things I had to worry about in planning our wedding, it was so refreshing to know that I didn't have to worry about the food or service.

Our guests raved about the food (you could cut the beef with a spoon) and all of the staff was great...especially the bar tender Christian who noticed that nobody was filming an impromptu performance by my siblings and jumped in to film it on his cell phone.

The Fruited Plain made our day!!

Forgot to mention...I have Celiac Disease and have to eat strictly GLUTEN FREE...TFP knew all ingrediants that contain gluten and I was able to eat everything they served on my wedding day!!

We had our wedding at a private residence, which is not always easy! Drew and everyone at the Fruited Plain were amazing! The food was the talk of our wedding and all of the staff were great! We were so happy with everything Drew and everyone at the Fruited Plain did for us! Our only regret is that we did not get to eat more of the delicious food! I would highly recommend the Fruited Plain for ALL (and I mean all because the food was delicious) of your catered events!!!

Drew and his staf were terrific to work with throughout the entire process. Drew worked with us to keep costs reasonable. The baker he uses for his cakes made our wedding cake to our specifications and it was absolutely beautiful and delicious> All of the food servered was fresh, hot and delicious. One of our guests is a Chef and gave everything rave reviews. the serving staf was professional, prompt, courteous and fun to work with. I would absolutely recommend them and would use them again in the future.

What delicious food from the fruited plain!! Everything, from appetizers to the wedding cake was just perfect.

We catered our wedding at home and couldn't believe how well Drew and his team operated in our old, hot, cramped kitchen. When they packed up for the night, you would not have even known they were there (except for neatly packed left overs in the fridge - yum!)

Very professional crew, extensive menu offerings, flexible and easy to work with. Looking forward to our next affair with fruited plain.

Drew and his team are great. He does a fantastic job piecing together the perfect menu for you and your guests! We went a little off the cuff with our menu and everything was perfect. Our guests raved about the entire menu (especially the large family style servings) and they even brought out extra's at our guest requests! Drew was great to work with and his staff was amazing all night. He even had a creative way to display our doughnuts for dessert! I would highly recommend trusting the menu for your special day, it won't miss!

Our family pretty much revolves around the kitchen table and the meals we enjoy preparing together. So, when our daughter got engaged we thought, backyard wedding. Keep it simple. We'll make the food, she'll bake her cake. As the guest list began to grow and we realized our future son-in-law's family had a very different idea of what the wedding "should be" we had to rethink this. A lot of compromises were going to have to be made, but one was not going to be on the quality of the food. After reading reviews about The Fruited Plain, I had a feeling Drew was going to be our perfect solution. He was easy to talk to and really listened to my daughter, we both felt at ease right away. From the first tasting he showed us how much he cares about his family, his business, the quality of ingredients, the preparation and presentation of his dishes; we were sold. Everything he brought out was delicious and beautiful. We thought deciding on the menu was all that remained. Not so. The groom's family wanted a formal sit down dinner and my daughter had a much more informal vision yet definitely didn't want a buffet. Yikes! Drew suggested serving Family Style which worked beautifully. Guests passed the serving dishes around the table, and I believe this actually facilitated conversation. When or if a platter needed refilling, Drew's staff was at the ready to take care of it. It has been two months and I am still getting compliments about the food and how it was served. Drew, his wife Rosemary and their staff were attentive, courteous and professional, wonderful to work with. I highly recommend serving family style at your next event and entrusting it to the Fruited Plain Caterers. I know I will!

Our wedding was wonderful, the food was delicious, and the entire staff was very helpful for my wife and I's somewhat unusual wedding this past May. (In a state park lodge).

No complaints at all, Fruited Plain Catering did a great job.

Drew helped us pull off our Sunday brunch wedding swimmingly! He worked with us to create an autumn-inspired menu that reflected who we are (pancakes, butternut squash soup, etc.), and we were thrilled at how relaxed it all felt. On the morning of the wedding, Drew and his crew got everything organized in record time, despite preexisting obstacles at our ceremony/reception site. The service was excellent, and our guests raved about how they felt very well taken care of.

My only regret--something I'm sure many brides share--is that I didn't get to eat more of the food! Drew had created many delicious tea breads as part of our "cocktail hour", and I heard it was all delicious :)

Drew & the Fruited Plain met & exceeded all of our expectations. We wanted a very specific menu - Mediterranean/Middle-Eastern, vegetarian friendly, lots of produce - we wanted a menu with tofu AND lamb on it, but that would still be crowd-pleasing. Drew's menu suggestions were right on point from the very beginning, but he was also flexible in fine-tuning the final selections. All of the guests loved all of the food (and not everyone we invited was easy to please), as well as the friendly, responsive service. We didn't feel that there was anything that we missed out on or had to compromise over, and yet we managed to stay within a fairly conservative budget. Drew also helped with event planning details and was well aware of all of and supportive of our plans. He helped out with an excellent florist suggestion and was increasingly present and on top of myriad details and last minute concerns as the day approached (and on the day itself), which was exactly what we needed.

Our wedding and reception was held at our home on 7/3/11. We planned on being in our newly landscaped backyard - sadly it rained the entire day, so we had to move to Plan B: Tents in our driveway. Drew and his staff were TERRIFIC! They helped us in every way imaginable. Our guests had a great time. Everyone LOVED the food. The service and attention paid was A+++. If you like lamb - you must have the lamb chops (I though mine were the best until I tried Drew's). The servers took EXCELLENT care of myself and my husband - they made sure our glasses were never empty and that we ate as well. We will use you again for other events and have no reservations in recommending The Fruited Plain Caterers. Thanks!

Amazing caterer

Drew at the fruited plain was absolutely fantastic. The food was amazing. Everyone loved it. He worked with us and was constantly in touch for any answers to any questions. His staff was fabulous, so attentive to all of our needs and made sure everything flowed nice and smooth at our wedding. Will hire again. For any catering services in the future

The Fruited Plain is hands down a terrific catering company. He was referred to us by our venue, Silas Condict Park in Kinnelon, NJ. From the moment we met Drew until after the wedding, we received the best service. His staff at our venue site were beyond helpful and accommodating. And, there was never any drama or unquestionable behavior -- we always knew what was what -- EXACTLY what is needed with planning a wedding party!

Drew was very flexible both with the time (which ended up changing a few weeks prior) and the price. His menu is extensive and we found everything we wanted. We got so many compliments on how great the food tasted and how well it was presented.

The food portions were right on and the food itself was fantastic. The presentation of the platters was very good and overall we had a great experience with this vendor.
I am sure we will use him in future activities and I will gladly recommend him to friends and family.

I hosted a holiday party for good friends and on short notice The Fruited Plain provided a great spread. The menu is very interesting and varied with something for everyone. The food was delivered right on time. We had a lovely time and having it catered gave me peace of mind and confidence that I was offering a great time to my guests.

Excellent experience! We selected the Fruited Plain more than a year before the wedding. Before signing, we had the opportunity to taste a selection of food for the cocktail hour. We had many email exchanges, phone calls, meet ups, between the tasting and the wedding day to determine the rentals, the exact menu, plus in our case the breakfast menu. We were able to personalize the menu as much as we wanted. Thanks for everything!

Pasta salad was perfectly delicious. I tried a couple of the sandwiches from the assorted sandwich tray and I really liked them. On the Mediterranean platter, I tried one of the dips and it was good, but I couldn't try any others, because of the pita chips. The pita chips were too thick and hard to bite. I was afraid I would chip a tooth if I ate them. So, I only ate 1 chip with one of the dips on it. The pita chips were disappointing. The food delivery was on time and I enjoyed talking to the owner over the phone when ironing out the details of the order. Overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend these caterers.

Overall it was a success: The Fruited Plain Caterers executed a DELICIOUS meal!!! Everything went smoothly the day of. It was also great that we didn't go over our budget. Drew worked with us to provide an elegant affair within our price point. He also accepted the various menu changes the months leading up to our wedding.

As with many of the vendors we worked with in the wedding industry, it was sometimes hard to get a hold of Drew. Once we realized we needed to be more flexible with meeting times/check-in’s we were happy with the results.

Be sure to specify what the bar will be serving to ensure the proper glassware is rented – we thought this was communicated, but to our surprise we didn't have rocks glasses for specific drinks.

Overall the food was fantastic, Drew and his staff were totally professional and at the end of the day that’s all that matters!

FTP had previously catered at our venue & came recommended. We enjoyed working with Drew for our 150 guest wedding in September 2015. The food was amazing, quickly refilled & plentiful. Our guests raved about each food item. Before booking, Drew came to our home & offered free tastings of a large quantity of hors d’oeuvres. He also accommodated our request for an additional full menu tasting after booking and for a very reasonable upcharge. Drew was incredibly responsive, patient & helpful from the beginning and through the planning process. Staff had professional dress & attitudes - they all worked tirelessly.
Unfortunately, there were also some challenges we faced, such as:
Rentals: The quality of the rentals from the TFP’s vendor, A Party Center in Fairfield was not “wedding appropriate,” but more “backyard BBQ” since everything was extremely well used & scuffed. Several white ceremony chairs were covered in bird excrement & a few items were broken or missing. No one from TFP accepted the delivery so we would see charges for these items later. Final Invoice Calculation: The final invoice received (1) week prior to the wedding jumped (30%) on service costs due to mis-estimated setup times. We declined the upcharge & set up the entire venue ourselves (not recommended). Similarly, our venue also had strict rules for clean-up to avoid fees. All of the catering staff left promptly at 11pm without completing the cleanup. This left us to finish cleaning that night, removing glassware, garbage & 150 chairs from upstairs. Dessert: We had specialty cakes made up to be displayed with desert wine & cordial bar. This did not get executed as we hoped. The cakes were never sliced, many liqueurs & specialty glasses were never displayed. No staff serviced the area either so a large line queued up as a result. But overall, we and our guests had a blast, and TFP was a very large part of making our special day so special.
