My husband and I were so pleased with the team at The Flower Cupboard and the beautiful florals they provided for our wedding! Cathy was extremely helpful at the initial consultation (especially since we knew literally NOTHING about florals going in). She pulled together an amazing quote for us at a great value. In the months leading up to our wedding, Cathy was super responsive whenever we had a question and coordinated with us to make sure our florals would arrive at the correct time to our ceremony and reception locations. On the day of, the delivery team was extremely kind and helpful, and super efficient when setting up our centerpieces and other decor. All of our bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres were gorgeous and lasted well throughout the day. We are so thrilled with the service we received and would definitely recommend The Flower Cupboard to any couple!

Stunning Florals & Design

We knew we wanted to hire Cathy from the moment we met her! She was sweet, personable and was super helpful with turning scattered ideas into a beautiful design! We were supposed to get married outside but unfortunately the rain had other plans. When we walked into our new indoor ceremony site, we were completely blown away! Cathy got creative and ended up giving us the most beautiful indoor ceremony we ever could have dreamed of! I couldn't recommend her more, we loved her!

Amazing customer service!

Cathy was a pleasure to work with! She allowed me to go back and forth and worked with me to create exactly what I wanted for our flowers. We’re not local, so she set up to have the flowers delivered to our hotel near the shop. Our boutonnières were accidentally left behind at delivery and when I reached out, she had them brought to me within the hour and was so sincere in her apology. She fixed it immediately and I’m so grateful. The flowers were all fresh and stunning, and exactly what I’d imagined them to be!

The flowers were gorgeous!

Cathy Nester at The FLower Cupboard made my daughter's wedding so beautiful! She was easy to talk to and listened carefully to our requests. The flowers on the table were gorgeous as were the bouquets. The most beautifu transformation was the wedding chuppah and the reception room. Everything was lovely. Thank you so much Ccathy!

Beautiful flowers and amazing service!

I absolutely loved working with Cathy and the Flower Cupboard. She worked with me all the way up to the wedding making sure she made the perfect flower arrangements and bouquets for my wedding. She was incredibly flexible with timing and worked with me and my budget to make sure I got the most out of my dollar. My bridal bouquet was spectacular and everyone at the wedding was talking about it. I would highly recommend the Flower Cupboard for your wedding!

The Flower Cupboard provided all the flowers for my daughter's wedding, and they did a magnificent job! Everything from the Bride/bridesmaid's bouquets to the boutonnieres to the corsages to the baby's breath halos to the centerpieces to the Arbor and more! The pieces were just as we discussed but even more beautiful than I hoped! Cathy and her staff were great to work with, and accommodated a last minute centerpiece addition with ease. I wholeheartedly recommend The Flower Cupboard for any and all floral needs!

Cathy, Amber, and their team were amazing!! Not only are they extremely friendly but very talented! Going into the consultation, I had only a general idea of what I wanted and they were able to pull together my inspiration photos and make the most beautiful arrangements for the wedding! Everyone at Flower Cupboard were so accommodating and were always willing to help anytime I had a question. Not only did I fall in love with my bridal arrangement but all of the arrangements they provided from the bridesmaids bouquets, to the men's boutonnieres, to the corsages for the mother's, and the centerpieces were stunning! I absolutely loved working with the Flower Cupboard and would recommend them to anyone looking for a florist! You will not be disappointed and will became fast friends with Cathy, Amber, and their team!!

The Flower Cupboard was awesome, Cathy Nester did a great job!!! My daughter knew exactly what she wanted and Cathy made the arrangements for the ceremony and wedding to match her dreams. Cathy stepped in and assisted the wedding coordinator in decorating the ceremony and reception room above and beyond my expectations, a true fairytale wedding.

Flower Cupboard did a beautiful job with my wedding flowers! Cathy was so wonderful to work with, and was able to create exactly had I pictured for my wedding day. We had a micro-mini budget for flowers, and Cathy did an absolutely amazing job - the bouquets looked absolutely beautiful, and the greenery and baby's breath we used for decoration were perfect. The flowers she used were so beautiful, even the photographer wanted to know where they were from! She was also incredibly helpful when it came to advising for what flowers to pick - I originally wanted hydrangeas, but we ended up using white carnations instead because they were a more "durable" flower (we were worried about the Williamsburg heat!). All of the staff at Flower Cupboard were super accommodating - there was an issue with my bouquet, and they fixed it immediately and brought it right back, looking perfect! I cannot thank them enough, or recommend them more highly. If you are getting married in the Williamsburg/Richmond/Norfolk area, go to Flower Cupboard for the most beautiful flowers you could possibly imagine!

The flowers for my daughter's wedding were just perfect! Cathy is wonderful to work with. We felt she really understood what my daughter wanted her wedding to look like. She also made many helpful suggestions that helped to keep the costs down. Finally, we had a moment of panic when one of the flower girl's basket wasn't correct. I called and they immediately brought another basket which solved the crisis. I appreciated so much their quick response. They are the best!!!

Cathy saw my vision immediately and delivered gorgeous flowers within my limited budget. My bouquet was perfection and I'm only sad that I can't have it fresh every day. I decided about 2 months out to have her do the reception centerpieces (I foolishly had planned to do them myself) and was so pleased with the result. She was able to do them for less than I could buying the flowers wholesale and that was wonderful for my sanity. They were absolutely what I had in mind. Wonderful all around!!

Cathy Nester is one of those people you meet and instantly trust. My mom and I interviewed three different florists for our Labor Day weekend wedding. We knew Cathy was the right choice as soon as we walked in the doors of her shop. We sat down and started going through my pinterest board- funnily enough, of all the pictures in the universe, the one I pinned and liked the most was a bouquet of hers she had done a year prior. She never tried to sway me in our choices - she only offered options as to how we can make our dreams come alive. My mom was the President of Garden Club and said Cathy chose the highest quality flowers for us and made sure she knew which flowers we did not like so as to avoid them at all costs. I cannot recommend Cathy highly enough. The three quotes we received were pretty similar but the level of service made Cathy a stand out choice.

I am so happy I chose the Flower Cupboard as my wedding florist. Cathy was a pleasure to work with! I'm not too knowledgeable about flowers, but in my consultation, Cathy put me right at ease. She asked questions to find out what I liked and didn't like and made suggestions. She worked within my budget and the flowers turned out beautifully! Flowers were delivered to my hotel the day of so I didn't have to worry at all. Highly recommend the Flower Cupboard if you have a wedding in the Williamsburg area!

I knew finding a florist would be a struggle for me as I worked for a florist for years, absolutely love flowers and have very specific taste. I was absolutely over the moon happy when I met with Cathy Nester and booked her on the spot. I came with my pinterest page loaded and all the ideas I had. She patiently listened and gave her feedback since she had done weddings at Ford's Colony before. After my profession of her skills, my mother-in-law also booked her for our rehearsal dinner. Cathy was amazing about ensuring the the flowers wouldn't be the same as the wedding flowers but still could be used in additional areas. She answered our questions, worked with changes (I may or may not have had a few freak out moments about the outdoor flowers) and did so all with an amazing demeanor,

When the flowers were delivered for both the rehearsal dinner and then the wedding I was beyond excited. The flowers were exactly what I had envisioned and more. I even had guests who I know aren't into flowers make comments about how beautiful they were. I couldn't more highly recommend Flower Cupboard. They really made my day.

Cathy is a true floral artist. She provided florals and tabletop decor/accents for one of our wedding events. The guests were blown away by her beautiful work. She matched the color palette I'd requested perfectly and her centerpiece for the foyer was simply spectacular. She brought to life the setting I'd been dreaming of. From the initial consultation through to the transformation of the River Room at Two Rivers Country Club on our daughter's wedding day, the floral artistry and depth of design experience of Cathy Nester at the Flower Cupboard was extraordinary. Attentive to the bride's overall concept, flower preferences, and color scheme of sangria and gold, she exceeded our expectations with alternating levels of exquisite floral arrangements at the reception. The arrangements beautifully incorporated the velvet texture of coxcomb and a variety of richly-hued roses, as well as mercury glass vases, candlesticks, and votives. The overall effect was both elegant and vibrant, prompting countless compliments from our guests.

The Flower Cupboard did a fabulous job with our wedding. All of the flowers were stunning and they really took the time to create beautiful bouquets, boutonnieres, altar pieces, etc. Cathy was great to work with during the planning process. We had an in person consultation to create a proposal and from then on, Cathy was very responsive via email. She follows brides on Pinterest so she can understand your vision and follow along with any changes you make. I found all of the Cathy, Amber, and all the staff very helpful whenever I needed to call. I can't thank the Flower Cupboard enough for setting up my homemade centerpieces (3 hand wrapped wine bottles filled with different flowers in each). All of our guests loved them and the set up was done perfectly. I absolutely recommend the Flower Cupboard for your wedding!

Cathy Nester provided absolutely beautiful flowers for our wedding at the Williamsburg Winery. The planning was a pleasure and the product was wonderful for the money. We went through a few revisions as our wedding look changed, and the final product was perfect. We are very lucky to have found Flower Cupboard and highly recommend it to any one looking for gorgeous flowers at a great rate for any event.

Cathy was extremely helpful and saved the day with the flowers for my wedding. I had had a very bad experience with a different florist and was left looking for a new florist at almost the last minute. They were able to give me exactly what I wanted and more at a rate significantly better than the other florist. The other florist insisted things had to be done a certain way, but Cathy was very accommodating and open to my less than orthodox ideas. I absolutely loved my bouquet and all of the flowers for the wedding. The Flower Cupboard has a client for life!

LOVED working with the Flower Cupboard!! No wonder our venues, both ceremony and reception, told us we could not go wrong with using the Flower Cupboard. The flowers were GORGEOUS!! They are not only very reasonable, but they know what they are doing, vision what you want and then produce! We received tons of compliments about our flowers. We did not have to worry about the flowers at all. Our venue, Two Rivers Country Club in Williamsburg, uses them frequently and had nothing but compliments for them. In addition, our ceremony site, The Wren Chapel, loves them! They were there early setting up and dropping off the flowers. The wedding party flowers were labeled for easy distribution. The flowers were fresh and lasted for days after! Cathy is incredibly talented and created what my daughter's vision was for her wedding. Thank you Cathy!! If I have another event in Williamsburg, I will definitely call you!!

I hired Cathy Nester to be the florist for my wedding and she ended up doing so much more. She was so awesome to work with. She helped me pick out flowers and arrangements that were unique. She showed me different kinds of flowers and really opened up my eyes to so many different flowers that I had never really seen before. When she showed up to my ceremony with all the flowers it brought tears to my eyes because the flowers really change the look of a room. It was all so so so beautiful. She also helped coordinate my ceremony and set up of reception since the coordinator that I had hired was late and unprofessional. Mrs. Nester was so professional and genuinely cared about her clients and their wants for their special day. Thank you so much.

I had my wedding flowers done by the Cathy and they were beautiful. From the first time I contacted Cathy, I found her to be very professional and full of wonderful ideas and advice. I was provided with photos and a descriptive estimate a few days after our initial talk. I was planning most of the wedding from the opposite coast so a lot of it was done over the phone. The flowers arrived in plenty of time on the day of the wedding. I just wish I had had more time to admire them. The flowers were expensive, but I honestly didn't shop around. Cathy had come highly recommended to me and I was extremely happy with the service and the end product.

"Cathy Nester and Crew" from the Flower Cupboard are simply magical...we requested flowers for our daughter's wedding and they provided beauty, nostalgia and romance! The Flower Cupboard is hands on and available from beginning to end. They exhibit great interest in the client and client's ideas and desires, as well as craft amazing design plans that translate into the most astonishing results! I can still feel and smell and see the glow, warmth and sweetness produced by the Flower Cupboard for my daughter's November Williamsburg wedding! Cathy is awesome! We absolutely loved how our centerpieces, bouquets, and cake topper looked. She was more than willing to work with us and give me suggestions on what she thought would look good, ways to save money, etc. I feel that Cathy went above and beyond her job as a florist to make sure our day went off without a hitch.

Thanks to the Flower Cupboard, I had beautiful flowers at my wedding! Kathy and Amber were a delight to work with and did everything they could to make the process fun and easy. Cathy Nester at the flower cupboard was fantastic. She met with me many times, was professional and had so many ideas and lots of advice to add to my vision. She suggested more flowers to fit into my color scheme and they were all just so gorgeous. She was excited to work with us and loved that I thought outside of the box. She understood my vision and really helped to make it come to life! Everyone commented on how gorgeous the flowers were!

the flower cupboard totally got my daughter sarah's vision of how she wanted the flowers to look and then even took that vision and made it more beautiful then we could of hoped for. if you are getting married in the williamsburg area i would not hestitate to hire the flower cupboard and cathy nester to do your flowers. you will not be dissappointed. we had peacock feathers incorporated in the arrangements and bought our own vases all in green, blue and purple and all our flowers were also those deep, dramatic colors. everything was just gorgeous and perfect.

All flowers were beautiful and just as we had ordered. Even at the last minute, the florist decorated 2 flower girl baskets and some hair combs for the flowergirls! Very easy to work with...listened to what we wanted and provided it. A wonderful experience.

I am not a flower person. Out of all the aspects of planning, I was the least enthusiastic about flowers. Cathy Nestor made beautiful greenery arrangements for the reception, incorporating our collection of homemade "tinnies". I was so happy with how she transformed the space. She also created lovely wintry bouquets of amaryllis and pine which lasted the entire day even after my neglect and rather forceful bouquet throw.

If you are having your wedding in the Williamsburg area, I would definitely recommend The Flower Cupboard! Cathy was helpful and expertly helped us choose the floral arrangements for our wedding. She was friendly, responsive and we really enjoyed working with her. She was also very flexible and was able to assist with last minute changes. The ceremony area and the reception hall were exceptionally beautiful on our wedding day thanks to Cathy and The Flower Cupboard staff!

I was initially going to use "My Favorite Things" as the florist for my wedding in Williamsburg, but they were difficult to work with and the mock arrangement that I was provided with was disappointing. As a result I begged Cathy at the Flower Cupboard to do my wedding. Cathy and her team were AMAZING!! With only one months notice they created some of the most beautiful arrangments that I have ever seen for my wedding. I asked for a cottage look with blue and purple flowers and had a specific list of flowers that I wanted to include and she did an amazing job of pulling it off. I am so impressed with the flowers I am thinking of posting them on the knot when the pics come back from the photographer! Kathy and her team are also a pleasure to work with, they are extremely helpful and are all very, very kind people. I am extremely satisfied and impressed with The Flower Cupboard! I would highly recommend Cathy and her team to my closest friends and family, and anyone else who is looking for an extremely skilled, kind and easy to work with florist!

Cathy and her team at the Flower Cupboard were great to work with. I brought in pictures of the style of the wedding and flowers that I wanted and she did an awesome job of matching the theme and style. I also gave her a budget to work with and she really looked out for us to stay within our budget and gave us advice on where we should spend out money. Thanks Cathy!

Cathys service was great. We met with her in February and gave her a couple of pictures (one for the bridal bouquet and one for the reception tables). Both turned out perfect. Even adding the last minute boutonnière for the groom's grandfather was no problem. We also went in on Thursday before the Saturday wedding to ask about adding something under the pineapple candles on the bridal table and that turned out beautifully.

Cathy & The Flower Cupboard team did a fantastic job with our wedding flowers. We didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on florals, and Cathy worked with us to make a bridal bouquet that looked fantastic without breaking the bank. They delivered all of our flowers to the church for us and were super responsive when we emailed with questions.

I had a wonderful experience with the flower cupboard. Cathy was great to work with, and gave me so many great suggestions on what to do for the bouquets and centerpieces. The bouquets were beautiful and very affordable, and the flowers for my centerpieces were beautiful as well.

The flowers were perfect. Not only were they what I wanted but they were in a perfect arrangement. I got many complements on my bouquets. They delivered on time and were very good about adjusting to the changes I made on the center pieces. They really do get the best quality flowers for the best price.

Florals for spring rehearsal and wedding

My husband and I worked with the Flower Cupboard for both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding in April 2022. We worked with Cathy closely to achieve a specific vision with our proposal. She was very helpful in having the flexibility to work with us at the price point we wanted to stay within. The Flower Cupboard provided very beautiful arrangements that closely matched the vision we had shared. Cathy was attentive on the wedding day with delivering the arrangements and bouquets, and helped fix a mishap when our arch toppled - with flowers on it! - a couple of hours before the ceremony. Few details were overlooked/miscommunicated in the process.

Lovely arbor and flowers for vineyard wedding

Cathy did a great job with our flower arrangements and we highly recommend her as your florist! She did a great job working with our cake baker and day of coordinator to tie her flowers into our cake, the arbor we used for our ceremony, and the wine barrels we had around the ceremony lawn and reception area. Cathy took the time to understand our vision based on photos we sent her, made some great suggestions drawing on her vast experience, and really made everything look great for our big day.

My wedding bouquets were absolutely beautiful! I had all white flowers, and they were perfect! She listened to what I wanted (even though I don't know flowers well) but she understood what I was asking for anyway and made just what I wanted. Thank you!

Cathy at The Flower Cupboard is so professional, nice, and a great florist! I am so glad I went with The Flower Cupboard to do my flowers and decor for my wedding day. The price for everything was very reasonable and everything looked gorgeous on the day of. Cathy is very busy so she did not get back to me as quickly as I would like, but I understood she was during her busy time of the year. Cathy and The Williamsburg Winery have done a lot of weddings together so it was nice to know that she knew the venue and the event coordinator at the winery so they worked well together to make my wedding beautiful. Another nice thing was that Cathy came early to set up the reception and ceremony space and she also came back after the wedding was over to clean up and take all of her decor and arrangements.

Cathy was fantastic. She gave us class and simplicity all in one. The arrangements were great and added to our theme perfectly. The bridal and bridesmaid bouquets were fabulous. Cathy has a tremendous eye and great talent for her work. She was very flexible as I had no idea what I was looking for when we first met to discuss arrangements, and she was very helpful in helping me shape my vision for our day. She was willing to make the arrangements special for us and our needs, including adding personal touches like lockets and memorial flowers to help make our day unique and special.

A few weaknesses include promptness of email correspondence and silly miscommunications. She did not read an email closely enough and delivered only the bridal bouquet when we needed all wedding party flowers, but it was a very easy fix since she works so close to where we were taking our pictures.

Overall, a lovely experience with the Flower Cupboard.

Beautiful results, but a little unresponsive

Positives: Our flowers were beautiful and exactly as expected. I was able to send in pictures from pinterest and Cathy recreated them exactly. She worked with us to get our flowers delivered earlier than planned so that we could have them in our pictures. Negatives: Cathy is a little unresponsive at times. There wasn't really a contract and it was unclear when payments were due. After we met in person and hashed out all the details, it took more than a month to get an updated invoice.

Beautiful flowers but not what I expected

The only things where I was disappointed was the vases on each table ( I asked no vases) and the flowers on the tables was smaller than I asked, I asked for more flowers on the left side of the gazebo outside. And I asked light in the flowers, I didn’t get any lights

Our flowers were gorgeous. We could not break the bank on our floral budget, but the Flower Cupboard worked with us to provide us with beautiful flowers within our budget. Their proposal was so wonderful and really helped to paint a picture of the day. Their response in communication was sometimes a little slow, but don't worry, they will get back to you! We were very happy with what we got and they added a beautiful touch to the day!

The Flower Cupboard has a great little shop in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg, and Cathy was really friendly when we first met her and hired her for our wedding flowers. We did have some difficulty getting a hold of her closer to our wedding date, and that did make me nervous, especially since I wanted to go over final costs and details. I wish there had been a better sense of responsiveness to ease my concerns... my bridal bouquet was nice, but I felt it was a bit short of what I asked for. The groomsmen's bouts and mothers' corsages were beautifully made, though, and exactly what I wanted.

I wish I had known all of this at the time. I do realize it was hard to reach me during the holidays, we were closed for several days and I apologize. And
I was not in on days you were trying to reach me. I thought I had given the prices of all of the items for the wedding. I just did not have them totaled with tax. Sometimes it is hard to give a final cost until closer to the wedding date because changes are always being made and I don't require final payment until two weeks out. I wish I had known about the bouquet, we tried to make it as close to the picture as possible.

I had really high hopes for the Flower Cupboard but unfortunately I feel as though they fell short. Cathy is awesome to work with and made me feel as though she really understood what I was asking for but the final product wasn't the best quality. I felt as though her prices were on the higher side but I was disappointed with the final product because it lacked fullness and a lot of the flowers died VERY quickly - even though it was a cool, rainy day. My mother's flowers died within an hour of the ceremony and I asked for my grandmother's lace to be placed around mine and my MOH's bouquet but it was only around mine. Overall, I would caution you when selecting them that you will pay the same price and sacrifice quality.

I had a really hard time getting in touch with this florist, especially after I told her that my flower budget had been reduced. I couldn't get my emails or calls returned very quickly and this was after I had already put down a very large deposit! It stressed me out a lot. Then on the day of my wedding, the bridal bouquet didn't arrive on time, in fact it arrived only just barely before the ceremony and no one answered our frantic calls. That all being said though, the bouquet (when it did arrive) was absolutely stunningly beautiful.
