Most beautiful cake!
We chose the Flour Child based on my (now) husband's sister's recommendation. The cakes we sampled were absolutely delicious. When our wedding cake arrived, I was stunned at how it EXACTLY looks like the inspiration photos I provided. With the florals from Everafter Floral Design included, the cake was absolutely stunning. Guests loved the cake! We had two flavors, a raspberry swirl cake with raspberry swirl buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream icing and a vanilla cake with oreo filling and chocolate buttercream icing. They were very easy to work with and worked from a few sample photos to make a unique and beautiful cake.

A few friends referred us to the flour child, but also I remember Alixe from high school as well. After we had our tasting, we didn’t go to try any other bakeries. Planning a wedding during a pandemic wasn’t easy, but ladies at the flour child made it stress free! When I had to postpone my original date, they were quick to respond and were supportive and encouraging. Leading up to the wedding when our guest list had changed significantly, it wasn’t a problem at all. They gave me additional options and I was able to have a grooms cake to surprise my husband with at the reception!
Everyone raved about how good the cupcakes were. The set up of the dessert table and the wedding cake was exactly what I had visioned for the big day. Everything was perfect! Thank you so much!!

A few friends referred us to The Flour Child and when we went to the tasting we knew we didn’t need to try any other bakeries. Not only were the flavors delicious and original, but they helped design a beautiful cake to match our vision based on our color palette and a few Pinterest pictures. They even rented us a silver cake stand to match. We went with vanilla and lemon filling for one layer and chocolate with cookie dough filling for the other layers. Everyone told us how great the cake tasted! Thank you for a delicious cake that was also a piece of art on our wedding day!

Cake that is even better than it looks
I am so happy we went with the lovely ladies at the flour child! Thy did a wonderful job with our cake and cupcakes. Literally everyone couldn't believe how good they were! And we had very little leftovers because people went back for seconds for dessert! Our cutting cake was wonderful as well! And it was a wonderful surprise to find that Alixe had put 1 of each kind of cupcake away for us, so we could enjoy our wedding cupcakes the next day. I would highly recommend the flour child to anyone! Not only is their cake fantastic, but the staff is great to work with! We can't wait for our 1 year anniversary cake!

I totally recommend The Flour Child to do your wedding cake, or cupcakes! The tasting went very well and the lady who helped us design the cake was super helpful and patient because we were not 100% sure what we actually wanted. The cost was very reasonable and we even get a free cake on our anniversary! The cake was absolutely delicious and I would definitely buy another cake from here! As soon as we did our first tasting with Flour Child, we knew they were the bakery for us. Not only was the cake delicious but the staff was extremely competent and attentive to detail. We didn't feel pressured at all during the tasting which I really appreciated. They were super on top of things throughout the planning process and were very responsive to my many emails. They set everything up perfectly for the wedding - it looked amazing and my cake was exactly how I wanted it. Also, the pricing is totally reasonable. Definitely recommend!

Amazingly beautiful and exactly what I wanted
To start, I had my consultation with Alixe and she was incredible! The options they give during that trial was beyond what any other bakery had done. She was so fun, very attentive, and knew what would and wouldn’t work. She sketched an image of my cake during the trial and she was very open and honest about what would and wouldn’t work together. When I saw my cake, I nearly cried because it was exactly what I wanted and I couldn’t have asked for anything more! The cake (and cupcakes!) were delicious and just perfect. Most of it was gone by the end of the night! I will forever recommend working with the flour child for wedding cakes because it was the best experience I had.

I used The Flour Child for our wedding cake, cupcakes, brownies, and cookies. Everything was absolutely amazing -- all of our guests raved about the desserts and we barely had anything left over. I'm actually gluten-fee (very unfortunate in this case!!) and TFC made sure their was gluten-free cupcakes for me kept separately which were SO GOOD! Also, TFC was very affordable and worked perfectly with our budget which is important :)

I was referred to Alixe by another bride and am so glad I went with her! Her personality shines as much as her cakes and she makes the whole process so much fun with her humor and friendliness. Flour Child was one of several places I had scheduled tastings with and her tasting blew me away; she was organized, the portions were very generous and she took the time to explain everything. My favorite part was how excited she was to design our cake and I showed her a couple inspiration pics and she was able to sketch on the spot what it was we were looking for in terms of style. Not only was our cake gorgeous but it was so delicious; in addition to the cake she was able to provide an impressive dessert bar which contained pastries, cookies, brownies and other goodies and my guests were super impressed by the variety and taste. Alixe's cakes taste great and my husband was very pleased because he felt the other cakes we tasted were just ok and more grocery store/Costco like instead of a bakery. Alixe was very flexible in working with our budget and we were able to get the cake of our dreams without sacrificing taste or professionalism. I first tried The Flour Child for my sister’s baby shower cake. I was shocked by the reasonable price and how easy Alixe was to work with. The guests at the shower raved about the cake and so we decided to use them again for our wedding. Alixe was amazing to work with from the start and was able to make the wedding cake and dessert buffet we were dreaming about a reality. We had nothing to worry about, she took care of every last detail. Again, the guests were coming up to us the whole night asking about where our desserts were from. Even my father who is self-described as “not a dessert guy” has completed all the errands at their store for me just so he can pick up more treats that he loves. Prices are extremely reasonable for the amazing quality and deliciousness of the products, as well as the pleasant service and interactions with the staff. We can’t wait to continue using The Flour Child for all of our bakery needs in the future!

Alixe was absolutely amazing! She went out of her way to make sure our day and cake were perfect. A cake topper we ordered never arrived and the week of our wedding I let her know that we were onto Plan B for toppers. She immediately responded saying she had it under control and the type of topper we wanted was delivered to her the next day. It was amazing, so appreciated, and totally above and beyond her call of duty! That says a lot about her passion and service to her bakery and her customers! The cake was beautiful and delicious and I LOVE that we can go again for our anniversary and get another topper (no year old freezer burn cake for us)!

Alixe was an absolute joy to work with! Our first meeting with Alixe was so fun! We mentioned that we didn't want to go the traditional route of having a tiered cake, but rather small treats/desserts and a smaller cake for us to cut into. We threw another curve ball by telling her that we wanted treats/desserts that were appropriate for a brunch wedding! Alixe whipped together a dessert menu of coffee cake, scones, cookies, cupcakes, etc. She truly understood us! I searched through a few different bakers, including a provided cake from my venue. But I had a specific flavor in mind and knew just any baker wouldn't do! I can't even begin to express how awesome of an experience it was to work with Alixe from The Flour Child! She was recommended to us by our venue (The Cameron Estate Inn) and I'm so glad she was! Her cake is delicious (moist, just the right amount of sweetness, mouth-watering) and she is SUCH a sweetheart. Our cake tasting with her was so much fun. I brought my mom and we literally couldn't stop eating haha! She was very easy to communicate with and answered all of my questions promptly. She has a great working relationship with the Cameron Estate Inn which meant I really didn't have to get involved much as she knew exactly what she needed to do! I was literally blown away with how beautiful my cake looked the day of the wedding, what a wonderful surprise! Alixe is a really nice and down-to-earth person to work with, and she is super artistic and great at designing cakes. But, on top of that, the cakes are amazingly delicious! I am a baker myself, so I am pretty picky about cake, and I was so happy with how delicious our wedding cake was. People were coming up to my husband and me at our reception and saying telling us how awesome the cake was. And, it was very affordable! I cannot say enough good things about The Flour Child. Alixe, owner of The Flour Child, is so bubbly and creative. She was recommended by our florist so we decided to just go for a trial. Oh my goodness, the cakes and frosting are amazing! It was really hard to narrow them down. Alixe allowed us to select 2 cakes, 2 frosting, and 2 fillings. We went with chocolate cake and cream cheese filling/frosting and vanilla cake with lemon merengue filling with vanilla frosting. They were both out of this world! Our guests really loved the cakes! Because of the hot weather, Alixe did a faux cake for the bottom 2 tiers which worked perfectly. The rest of the cake was scored and ready to be served which made it easy for our food handlers. I highly recommend Alixe as she's truly talented at what she does. She arrived and set up promptly. You will not regret booking The Flour Child!

Alixe did an amazing job with our cake. Meeting with her and talking through our MANY ideas, she was able to help us design a wedding cake that was truly us. Our cake looked absolutely perfect and tasted even better. I'm only sad that I didn't get more. I can't wait for our one year anniversary cake to eat it again. Thank you for everything!

Alexie was great to work with and the cake was amazing! She was able to incorporate our custom logo into the design of the cake - which was a great touch. The cake tasted amazing and guests are still telling us how much they enjoyed it.

I recently got married and we had The Flour Child make our wedding cake as well as cupcakes. They were beyond good! Everything went so well from the tasting to the actual cake at the reception. Alixe is very nice and very easy to work with. I would highly recommend them!

The Flour Child is an amazing business! Alixe is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and is an absolute joy to work with! She responds to emails quickly and is super professional. The tasting was the best one that my husband and I went to. She was punctual, nice, answered all of our questions, drew a beautiful sketch of the cake I wanted and most importantly had a variety of delicious cakes and icing to try. We knew by the first bite that we wanted Alixe to make our wedding cake and we couldn't be happier with our decision! Our cake was absolutely gorgeous and so delicious! I would recommend The Flour Child to anyone for their wedding cake (or any occasion for that matter). Sugar, spice, professionalism, and perfection! Working with the owner, Alixe was extremely easy and fun from the beginning. My wife and I started on the user friendly website to schedule our consultation/tasting. I couldn’t help but smile the day I walked in to the bakery because the atmosphere inspires warmth and cheer. With no vision of design or flavor I quickly apologized for my lack of bridal skills. Alixe laughed unfazed, assured me that I was in great hands, and jumped right in prepared with photos and sketches of cake options. In 10 quick minutes she has walked us through designing the perfect cake for our special day. The hardest part was choosing flavors because everything that we tried was incredible! She said that she would create an invoice and it was emailed quickly. Closer to the wedding I called the shop to let her know that I had found a cake topper. She greeted me with genuine elation about our wedding plans and again put a smile on my face with her warm demeanor. She coordinated with our reception hall to place the cake and everything looked lovely on my wedding day. Often something is lost with vendors and they seem to forget that you’re celebrating something special. The Flour Child made my wife and I feel like our day mattered and they would make sure that everything went smoothly. I hope this helps when you are choosing your bakery! I wholeheartedly recommend Alixe and the Flour Child for anyone in search of a wedding cake. Her flavors are AMAZING - I used to work in a bakery and her cakes and icings are probably the best I've ever tasted! My parents took the extra cake home and we all had some with brunch the next day because it was that good :) She did a beautiful job on our vintage/wildflower tiered cake and got our vision right away. She was welcoming and down to earth and professional all at once, from day one all the way to our wedding day. Highly, highly recommended!

Alixe is the absolute best! When my fiance and I first met with her we just loved her enthusiasm and passion for what she does. We told her what we had in mind for our cake and she created a beautiful masterpiece. The cake was not only beautiful, it tasted delicious! It was so moist and flavorful. Alixe even made us cookies as well and they were delicious! We had some leftover cake after the wedding and I could not be happier...now we get to indulge for a few more days! I would highly recommend Alixe to anyone! :)

This is the yummiest wedding cake you will ever eat! My guests loved the flavors too. Upon meeting Alixe at the Flour Child, I knew our cake was going to be in amazing baker hands. My best friends used, The Flour Child, for their wedding cake a few years ago, so I knew from the beginning I wanted their wedding cake! Alixe gets it, she is talented, and knows her stuff. She is also, in my opinion, the buttercream queen! And makes fantastic butter cream icings like maple walnut and irish cream! Alixe delivered her cake in person and also put the flowers on herself at the venue on the day of our wedding. I highly recommend, The Flour Child, to anyone who wants their friends and family to remember how fantastic the cake was at their wedding!

I had a very specific vision for my cake table. A giant cake with lots of smaller family cakes to accompany it. When I walked in, and got a chance to see my cake table, I was completely blown away. It was like Alixe pulled the vision right out of my head! During our tasting Alixe even helped me win over my mother to have a fake large cake witih 10 (thats right 10!) smaller cakes of different flavors. The largest cake looked so real my brother thought we were throwing cake away at the end of the night during the clean up process. Alixe even put different decorations on the cakes, including the enlisted USMC emblem to make all my cakes look spectacular! She even was okay with having 3 cakes my family baked intermixed in the setup to go along with my vision. Not only did they look good, they tasted even better. Out of 10 8-10in round cakes we had 1.5 cakes leftover the next day, and none by that Monday! My mother also had her make a cake for my bridal shower which was gorgeously decorated as well. Over all If I lived closer I would have all my cakes made by Alixe and the Flour Child!

I thought I'd died and gone to heaven during our tasting at the Flourchild. Alixe, the owner, helped us choose and design a cake (and other desserts) that not only tasted amazingm but complimented our theme, our venue, and our own sense of style! She was great to work with, everything was perfect. We would highly recommend using them, or just stopping into her shop and getting some coffee and one of her amazing cookies.

We were having our wedding in Lancaster but we live in New Jersey. So we asked our caterer to recommend someone they trusted for our wedding cake. We were very particular about our cake. We wanted all butter cream, no fondant but we wanted the beauty that you sometimes get more easily with fondant. Well Flour Child delivered a beautiful cake. Lace and swiss dot cake that was delicious. You can't go wrong with Flour Child!

The Flour Child is nothing short of amazing. We got our wedding cupcakes and cake topper there and still continue to visit them for sweet treats! All of our guests went on and on about how delicious their cupcakes are. Price wise they are very reasonable and Alixe always gets back to you in a timely manner. We used TFC for our wedding cake and we were very impressed. From the beginning, Alixe was awesome to work with. They offer a complimentary cake tasting, which was super fun and really helpful with picking out flavors. We chose a marble cake with peanut butter icing and it was soo good! So many of our guests complimented us on the cake. I showed Alixe a picture of the cake I wanted and she did exactly what I asked and our cake looked just like the picture! I also had Alixe make my husband a groom's cake and that turned out just as amazing as our wedding cake. Prices at TFC are very reasonable too compared to other bakeries. I would definitely recommend having your wedding cake from TFC!

The cupcake tower was adorable. On Facebook, there are more pictures of these cupcakes than of myself lol! It's because it looked so good. And best of all, it tasted delicious! The best wedding cake we ever had. If you are getting married in Central Pennsylvania, you should go to the Flour Child, speak with Alixe, and then order your cake.
We had some unorthodox ideas about our wedding cake. We wanted multiple flavors and we wanted cakes on every table. We were up for doing something different. After meeting with three separate bakers, all we were told was, "You shouldn't do that, just have one cake, maybe two flavors." No one wanted to think outside of their overpriced box. Once we met with the Flour Child, our ideas were met with enthusiasm and encouragement. Alixe provided more ideas and together we were able to come up with the idea of having a cake flight, three separate slices of cake on the same plate. It was a great solution for us. Then Alixe told us that there would be no additional charge for the cake flight.
There are value buys and then there are deals that enhance your wedding and make memories for a lifetime. We strongly recommend the Flour Child in Columbia, PA.

The cake was not only amazing and delicious but it looked fantastic. I picked a cake off another website and gave her the place cards for ideas for design and the cake looked unique but it fit in perfectly. We had lots of left over cake since we made it bigger than we had to (not a problem to a cake lover like me) and it lasted for a week after the wedding. I will definitely use this bakery again for future events.

The cake was DELICIOUS and beautiful. Our cake was decorate to look like a tree with our initials carved in it, and love birds as the cake topper.
I will use The Flour Child again and again - absolutely wonderful food and service, and can't beat the price!

Alixe from the Flour Child Bakery was awesome to work with and let me tell you, her cakes and cupcakes are to die for!! She did a free taste testing with us before the wedding to allow us to choose which flavors of cake, filling and icing we wanted to go with! A lot of bakers charge to do this and Alixe does not charge! We had such a hard time narrowing down the flavors because everything was so delicious!
Alixe was also very friendly and easy to work with! She was very flexible when it came to making any changes to the cake after your initial selections were made. The day of the wedding, she arrived plenty of time before the reception to set everything up and worked with the florist to put some real flowers on the cake. Another highlight to working with the Flour Child Bakery is that Alixe prepares a fresh cake for the bride and groom on their one year anniversary instead of having to freeze the top layer of the cake, we will have a nice fresh cake on our 1 year anniversary!
It was a pure pleasure working with the Flour Child Bakery and I would work with them again for any future needs I have. The Flour Child Bakery really helped to make our wedding day very special!

Alixe made my dream wedding cake; not only was it delicious but it was beautiful and affordable. Her lemon pound cake with raspberry filling and marshmallow icing is to die for. I would recommend this bakery to any of my friends or family.

Our cake was absolutely delicious! We did two different flavors (vanilla and chocolate) with a raspberry buttercream filling and our guests just raved about how delicious it was. Not only did it taste great, it looked beautiful! In addition, we wanted to have pie at our wedding, so we also purchased Pecan and Apple pies for a dessert table! Everything was wonderful. Although our wedding was in Lancaster, we were planning most of it from Montana. Alixe was great to work with, allowing my parents and some friends to sample pies and cake options for me, since I wasn't able to be there. I would definitely recommend the Flour Child!

Our cake was delicious! We had three types of flavors a vanilla/strawberry filling, Guiness chocolate with raspberry icing, and red velvet with cream cheese icing. The cake looked beautiful and tasted great, it was very easy to work with Alixie, she was professional and responded very quickly to emails.

The Flour child owner, Alixe is excellent. Even though we went to high school together, she was very professional when it came to the business of selecting cupcakes and a top cake for my wedding.
She let us choose 4 types of cupcakes & 4 toppings to decide what we like. The price is good!
The quality was excellent. The cupcake tier was beautiful & turned out exactly as she said it would. She gave many options to decorate the cupcakes. The taste was great!
She sets up and lends the tier out. She is professional, prompt, and provides quality service.

Alixe and her cupcakes.... I have dreams about them!! Alixe held a great tasting for us, she was very helpful with choosing our flavors. She set up the cupcake drop off time with our caterer, and even arranged the cupcakes for us beautifully. And she makes about 1.5 cupcakes per guest so there were delicious leftover treats to take home with us! The coolest part of our cupcakes was that Alixe sourced some edible honeycomb as an accent for the top of one of our cupcakes, to go with our honeybee theme. So classy!! I recommend Alixe to anyone who ever needs a fun and easy dessert for an event.

Alixe, the owner of The Flour Child has an awesome personality and is very easy to work with. She is young and spunky and full of great ideas. The cakes that she produces are presented so nicely. The prices are great. We have been ordering cakes and cookies prior to the wedding and will continue to give her business. Hands down awesome choice.

Alixe was amazing! We had a dessert table, and she did the most amazing treats. Pumpkin cupcakes with a pecan caramel topping were the best. We chose a half dozen desserts that were all delicious - even mini apple pies! She also put together a luncheon for our rehearsal lunch. And she delivered food to the guy's cabin and the girls' house while we were all getting ready. She was truly a pleasure to work with!

I can't say enough good things about Alixe and her crew at The Flour Child. She is so great to work with and can do just about anything you can imagine. Her prices are so reasonable and the quality is outstanding! From the first meeting and tasting with her to the final product everything went smoothly. She's very professional and at the same time it felt like we were designing our cake with a close friend. Everyone raved about how yummy the cake was. We also loved the fact that she recreates the top layer of your cake on your 1st anniversary so we could serve all the cake to our guests. The Flour Child is absolutely the best for cake of all kind, especially weddings!

Even supplied to go boxes for guests to take home left over cupcakes, which was a wonderful addition, guests loved that! The options are endless and the flavor is top notch. I was asking around for names of bakeries in the Lancaster area and someone recommended The Flour Child. I thought it was an adorable name so I decided to check it out. The shop is incredibly cute and the staff was inviting and easy to work with. We decided to go with a cup cake tower and had a difficult time choosing from the many delicious options. The cupcakes were a hit...... my father, a known sugar junkie, ate at least a dozen.

Start to finish Flour Child was a joy to work with. They immediately seemed to get us and we felt at ease working to pick flavors and design our cutting cake. No worries day of everything just appeared all set up and ready for our reception, like magic. The taste of the cake and cupcakes was top notch, the vanilla they use is amazing and our guests were obsessed. Highly recommwnd, great value, fun and talented!

We would without a doubt recommend the Flour Child. From our first meeting, Alixe put us at ease with our wedding cake. Not only was the cake delicious, but she was so helpful and creative with her ideas on the design of the wedding cake. The price is right and the Flour Child staff are all so friendly and easy to talk to. I have gone back to Flour Child for about 5 other cakes since our first tasting and have never been disappointed! You won't be disappointed with going with Flour Child for your wedding cake and all other cake needs.

We had a cupcake tower instead of a wedding cake for our New Year's Eve Wedding. We had a tasting to choose which cake flavors and icings we wanted, then chose 4 combinations. We served 130 regular sized and 130 minis for our guests and they loved all of them!

I have known Alixe (the owner of The Flour Child) since middle school. She is and has always been extremely mature, hardworking, and easy to work with. My husband and I chose The Flour Child because she was the first caterer in the wedding industry that we met with who sat down with us, asked what we wanted first, then showed us what she could do with what we had given her. She worked wonders in our VERY tight budget, gave us an excellent and delicious array of food, and dealt with difficulties with professionalism, grace, and humor. She catered our heavy hors d' oeuvres wedding for 230; researched and found eco friendly plates, napkins, cups, and utensils; and kept in touch with pictures showing her progress. She also made our wedding cake which was (and still is) delicious and beautiful. Her treat to newlyweds is a free cake on your one year anniversary because she doesn't like the idea of people eating cake from the freezer. (we still actually froze part of ours and keep eating at it...its still delicious!!) She is hands down the best, friendliest, and most affordable in the wedding industry.

Above and Beyond Expectations!
We were married on February 3, 2023 and The Flour Child girls could not have given us a better wedding cake! For our wedding, The Flour Child provided us with an affordable option that suited us perfectly. After our individual consultation, the girls from The Flour Child created our dream wedding cake near perfect to our vision. We provided them a picture of the cake we desired and they delivered it to us with every guarantee it would be what we envisioned. AND IT WAS! Not only did they paint the exact picture onto our cake that we wanted, but they enhanced it with embellishments and beauty.
We chose a two-tiered cake with a wedge just for us to cut. We wouldn’t have to save/freeze an entire tiered cake for our anniversary because they will provide a fresh made anniversary cake! Our personal cake was also painted with our theme and decorated with buttercream to look and feel like a non-artificial cake. Then for our guests (approximately 80), we were able to chose 3 auxiliary cakes in different flavors. Our guests raved about the taste and were asking for more after the wedding!
The Flour Child delivered our cake to our venue and set-up our cake topper. They were professional and went above and beyond to provide us with an affordable and beautiful personal cake in addition to the most delicious sheet cakes for guests!
Anyone looking for an affordable wedding cake vendor, we would highly recommend the girls at The Flour Child!

Loved our gluten free wedding cake
The flour child made our gluten free wedding cake and we absolutely loved it!! We wanted some simple texture on the outside which was beautiful, but the cake was also DELICIOUS. A lot of gluten free cakes can be dry but their cake was amazing and one of our favorite parts of our wedding day. Thank you to the whole team at flour child!!

We absolutely loved out desserts. We had a whole dessert bar and every person at the wedding got something they loved! The whole process was super easy, from tasting to booking to wedding day. Alixe was friendly and accommodating, she really made the whole process that much better. We had a couple last minute changes, and Alixe was great about it all. To top it off, everything was delicious! There was not one thing I didn't like, and even my non-cake loving husband was in love. Everything was perfect, I would absolutely recommend this awesome little bakery. Affordable, delicious, easy to work with...win!

We used the Flour Child for our wedding day! Alexia was very professional fun to work for and very professional. The cupcake display not to mention the taste was like no other.
