Just had our most amazing wedding there! Such a beautiful venue with amazing food. The grilled vegetables and shrimp and grits shooters had even my pickiest of guests happy. Doug was the greatest. Calmed all of my nerves, dealt with our loopy families, and took care of everything so my reception and ceremony looked beautiful and went smoothly. I was able to enjoy my time in the bridal suite all morning with no interruptions! Would 100x do it over again :)

This is the perfect place!
Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day! The venue was gorgeous, and Doug and his team were fantastic! Doug was great to work with and so easy to work with too! He answered any and all questions I had and did a killer job overall. He and his team handled all the set up which was super nice. We went with their catering too which was a great decision! Everything was delicious 😋 I truly have nothing bad to say about this venue. I do feel like I should add a note that me and my fiancée are very easy going people and for us, the wedding was about making a commitment to each other. I’d like to remind people that things happen and at the end of the day, it’s about you and your fiancée, so be kind to these lovely people at the fields of blackberry cove because at the end of the day, they’re here for you and doing everything possible to make your day as absolutely perfect as you want it to be.
P.S. All of our guests kept telling us how awesome the food was and how great Doug was. It’s also a great price for what you get! Don’t hesitate to book this venue.

Breathtaking Mountain Venue
I cannot say enough great things about Doug and his crew at Fields of Blackberry Cove. Doug took all of the hardship of planning a wedding and made it easy and get this...fun! The venue is stunning, nestled into the mountains with great views and loads of natural beauty. One things that I particularly loved is that everything is gorgeous as is - you can dress the venue up if you'd like but it's perfectly charming already if you're into a "less is more" vibe. Doug was beyond flexible with our ever-changing food menu and let me tell you...the food does NOT disappoint. You really do not need to bother finding outside catering unless you're absolutely set on it. I have friends reaching out to me weeks later asking me to grab some recipes from Doug. The staff was so polite and really on top of their game. I am so grateful to their attentiveness, truly rockstars. There's also plenty of space for both parties to get ready. We were never on top of each other and there was plenty of room for the stylists to do their magic. We even brought our dogs and we had enough space for them to have their own room. All in all the best experience and if you don't get married here then you're missing out on a very special place and people

Best Day Ever!!
We just had our wedding here Sunday, October 23rd with 63 guests. This was the absolute most wonderful day of my life, and Doug and his team pulled off the most beautiful and well ran wedding I (and along with my guests reviews) have ever been to. Doug had mentioned that he’s been in this field of work for around 15 or 20 years or so, and it definitely shows! Doug was extremely easy to work with and made almost all of our requests come true unless there was something major that would’ve caused issues. Because it’s busy wedding season, we did have to wait a few bit days to hear back from Doug, but that is totally understandable considering he has other weddings to tend to. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, the drive into the venue is stunning and runs along a river. Surrounded by trees and mountains, the venue is a truly magical place. Keep in mind that this is a wild and rustic venue, grounds are not super manicured like you might see at a vineyard or golf course. The barn is a very special place and looks amazing lit up at night. Again, this is an actual used old horse barn, you can see where the horses have chewed down parts of the old stalls. Tons of character! For the ceremony, we used to love and wisdom and found an amazing officiant, Sarah Judy. For food, we use Doug and his Chef and, the food was absolutely wonderful! We did barbecue, smoked chicken, a pasta bar and sides. Truly, this with some of the best wedding food I have ever had. Guests agreed! We loved Doug’s flexibility with being able to bring in your own alcohol and wedding cake. We did have to hire a bartender but that made things run super smoothly. Also did cocktail hour appetizers which were fantastic. Service staff was amazing running behind folks and cleaning up and keeping everything tidy. Things to note: you do end up parking and having to walk into the ceremony space. After that, your guests do have to walk up a small hill to get to the reception space. We reminded all of our guests to wear boots. I think Doug would have transported anyone who needed any help or anyone with disabilities (they have a few golf carts on the property). And again, this is a truly rustic space; this is exactly what we were looking for but I can imagine that some people might be expecting something different (more manicured/up to date, not sure). I truly cannot recommend this anymore. This was the wedding of our dreams and Doug and his team or eager to make all of this happen for us. And icing on the cake- Doug is so funny and kept us laughing the whole time!! Doug, thank you so much, we will remember this day!!! We will miss you! 💜💜💜 -Cameron & Koreen

Amazing, superb,memorable
Our daughter just had her ceremony and reception at The Fields of Blackberry Cove and everything went better than I would have imagined. We had friends and family from all over the country and what we heard from many was this: the best wedding I've attended.
It's starts with the beautiful setting with mountain views all around. The reception was held at the Farmhouse, which includes both indoor and outdoor seating and just gives off a cool vibe.
And then there is Doug, the owner. A friendly, chatty guy who has been doing this for years and it shows. You can bring in an outside caterer but you would be foolish. Doug knows what he's doing in the kitchen and our guests were not disappointed. The turkey and prime rib were delicious and two of our guests in particularly, both chefs, said it was the best food they've had at a wedding.
We ran out of white wine but Doug had us covered, bringing out several bottles. As a parent you worry about how things will go during a wedding but with Doug, you don't need to. He and his staff know what they are doing and made our event a smashing hit.

Beautiful Location, Great Value
My husband and I got married at The Fields of Blackberry Cove in September 2021. People still reach out to tell us how much they loved our venue and how beautiful it was. Look no further for gorgeous mountain views for a great value. We had 105 guests, and the barn was the perfect size. The on-site catering was fantastic. My one recommendation would be to use an outside company for day-of coordination.

Amazing Experience, Beautiful Venu
Doug and his team were absolutely incredible to work with! Planning and having a wedding during the pandemic wasn't the most ideal situation to be in, but they really made the experience feel as normal as possible. Other than the beautiful setting, another thing that sold me was the many options for ceremony and a great rain plan! We didn't have any rain, but I would have been happy with the alternatives if it had. There is also a large bridal suite which made it so convenient day of. We even had a little yoga class in one of the spaces the morning of! I honestly can't say enough good things about the whole experience. :)

Can I plan a wedding with Doug again?? Please?!
My husband and I toured around to 9 venues in the Asheville area for our destination wedding in June 2019. There are many things that make wedding venues wonderful--but I want to share what makes The Fields of Blackberry Cove different.
The first hour we spent with Doug, he took the time to get to know us as people. He wanted to know about how we met, where we were from, what we liked, what our families were like. Doug shared stories and laughed with us over cups of coffee--it was like being with an old friend right from the get go. Nowhere else in Western Carolina will you meet a wedding venue coordinator who will treat you with the kindness of family and the professionalism of a true expert.
Everything was included in the venue price and you can accurately predict what you will spend entirely from the get go. Your experience will be a lot less stressful--other places don't tell you they require you to pay for a day of coordinator, electricity, a dance floor, even cake cutting!! Doug and Ken think that's ridiculous and instead are honest, upfront, and inclusive.
The Fields has the most gorgeous grounds. It's nestled right in the mountains of Weaverville (20 minutes from downtown Asheville) and creates the most gorgeous backdrop. The barn is decked out with twinkle lights and drapery...you really won't need to decorate! The beauty and charm is already built right in. The patio is HUGE and makes for a great dance floor! They had both a bridal suite and a groom's suite with full bathrooms. The guys deserve a place to get ready too, but this was the only venue that had two spaces to provide that! Doug stocked the bridal and grooms suites with towels, tolietry items, and beverages to make sure we were taken care of.
The catering--oh my God. We should have brought a full army to our tasting for the amount of food we sampled and DAMN it was good! Even better at the actual wedding!! Use them--you won't regret it.
They let us use table items items they already had and created a beautiful archway for the ceremony that Ken and Freda adorned with gorgeous flowers exactly as I had pictured in my mind. Super reasonably priced too! Everyone made the wedding planning process fun, stress-free, and affordable.
Our wedding day was LITERALLY. PERFECT. Doug, Ken, Freda, and the whole staff did a beautiful job of attending to everyone's needs quietly and purposefully in the background so we could enjoy each moment. I will continue to recommend them to everyone I meet and know you will not be disappointed. Thank you Doug, Ken, Freda, and the whole Blackberry Cove family!!! We would do everything again with you and exactly the same way--you are simply the best!

A Perfect Day!
This. Place. Is. Amazing. I planned my wedding from across the country, and Doug was completely on top of things and made everything so easy. Once we got there, Doug and Ken were the most helpful, delightful, and accommodating people I've met. They anticipated needs and went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect day. Not to mention, they're hilarious and really make you feel like you've been friends your entire life. The food and service were amazing, tasty, and impeccable. The staff were polite, smiling, and incredibly helpful. The clasp on my dress broke, and as I was waiting for my aunt to find a safety pin, the bartender had already found me one and a server was fastening my dress together before my aunt returned. We would not have changed a single thing about this day. I would recommend this venue and these people to anyone. And I have no doubt that I have will have lasting relationships with these amazing people.

This venue is outstanding. We had our dream fall mountain wedding here. The views are stunning, the people are friendly, and the price is right. Doug, Freda , and Ken made our day so perfect. Freda doubled as our florist and day of coordinator and helped everything run smoothly and look beautiful with rustic and natural flowers. My bouquet was better than I had even imagined and the floral decorations on our arbor were breath taking. Doug and his staff prepared a delicious feast of salmon, skirt steak and seasonal sides including a to die for butternut squash soup. Doug makes the best homemade bread I have ever had in my life and he always had some for us every time we came out to visit the venue over the course of our planning. The staff were so professional and kind, I felt welcomed by every single one of them. If you're considering this venue just book it! You won't be disappointed, these folks and the space they have is exactly the type of good energy you need around you on your special day!

Exceeded Expectations
We came from Florida to have our wedding in North Carolina. I was just going off pictures that were posted online and a conversation I had with one of the owners - Doug. The property was beautiful!! Both Ken and Doug put a lot of work into making sure everything goes smoothly and looks beautiful! We hired them for the catering as well. The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor! Everyone loved it, even the picky eaters in our family! There's also a lodge on site where we were all able to get ready with separate areas for the girls and guys - even a separate room for the moms to get ready as well. It was even better than I thought it was going to be, the view of the mountains was spectacular, I was beyond happy with the venue, the owners, and the food! I would recommend them and their property 100x over.

The Perfect Wedding Venue
We couldn’t be happier with our choice to use Fields of Blackberry Cove as our venue, and our guests certainly agreed. From the get-go it was clear we’d made the right choice. If you are looking for a venue, look no further! This is a one-stop-shop for any couple planning a wedding!
The venue itself is beautiful. The view of the valley across is splendid and the grounds are maintained to a high standard. There’s an old oak tree on the lawn that is gigantic. It’s awe-inspiring. Plus, the barn/reception area can fit any needs. It is flexible in terms of style yet consistently retains an aura of rustic, which really lends itself well to photography. With the way lighting is set up, photos come out beautiful.
Moreover, Doug, Ken, Freda and their staff are top-notch. They were exceedingly helpful and are very kind people. From day one, they answered every question we had, gave us recommendations for other vendors to use and really guided us through the wedding planning process. They helped us with table organization, floral arrangements, paperwork required, etc - it’s a long list of items. Freda is the “day of coordinator” and mother of the venue-owner. We HIGHLY recommend hiring her. She is organized, she knows the ins and outs of weddings, and she knows how to make a couple happy! She was an angel to work with (answering all of my questions...and I had a lot) and truly helped make our day stress free! Side note: SHE KNOWS HER FLOWERS!
We also catered through Fields (Doug) and the food was splendid. The quality was superb for every single item we purchased. One quote I received from a friend was “I knew you said it was good, but I didn’t realize it’d be that good.” The service from Doug was exceptional as well. In fact, one of our items had an ingredient discontinued by his supplier so he made it himself! We were floored and really grateful. He is a true foodie and his twists on classic wedding dishes were perfect!

Doug and the entire team was AWESOME! My sister and I worked with Doug via email and phone for her destination wedding. I came by and looked at the property and it was gorgeous. Doug was assisting another bride that day, but he said I could walk around the property if I'd like. I took pics and video for my sister. Her future sister in law came and did a facetime video and meet and greet tour with Doug. Through the months of planning, Doug was awesome with his responses and answering questions for the far-away bride who was planning a wedding, site unseen. LOL.
Upon arriving the day before the wedding, Doug gave us another grand tour. He suggested rehearsing inside the barn and out by the tree... just in case. The morning of, he and his team offered suggestions and tips. He was a great moral support to the bride who was stressing out about an issue with the rental car. But all said and done, their team was GREAT! Little tokens here and there and professionalism all through the day (and the entire planning period). They even helped transport the bride (to stay hidden, the 8 month pregnant matron of honor, and her hobbling sister) down to the ceremony site.
I would highly recommend Fields of Blackberry Cove and the terrific team that made my sister's Wedding Day, the best that it could be!

Doug and his team at the Fields of Blackberry Cove are consummate pros. The venue was the first I visited with my parents and then-fiance (back in January, when it was freezing cold). The warmth of the welcome we received, along with the incomparable beauty of the place and the thoughtfulness put into all of the services and facilities, made every venue we visited after pale in comparison. The prices and flexibility here are absolutely unmatched--you can flex as much or as little DIY muscle as you want, and Doug and co. will make sure the rest comes out beautifully. Despite having done hundreds (if not thousands) of weddings over the years, Doug always makes you feel like yours is the most important one.
The team goes above and beyond in keeping the grounds gorgeous (they plant to attract butterflies!); tirelessly setting up the space beforehand (even when I asked to make changes after the tables had been set up); remembering every last detail (like floss in the bathrooms because we were serving corn on the cob); and pampering the bride and groom (we were whisked away in a golf cart after our ceremony for a moment to ourselves, and were handed wine and bourbon en route). So many decorative items, furniture pieces, and services that would cost extra at most venues are simply included at Blackberry Cove.
We held our ceremony under the giant old oak tree, with the reception in the barn. We loved all of the barn's conversation nooks, and with string lights, plantings and fabric bunting, it hardly needed additional decor (we brought in buckets of flowers and arranged them ourselves). The indoor, air-conditioned lodge is a great base for the family early in the day with a large bridal suite, multiple showers, clean bathrooms, and plenty of space to spread out (not to mention providing a solid rain backup plan for the ceremony).
Choosing Blackberry Cove was absolutely the best decision we made in planning our wedding; I cannot say enough good things!

We are so happy that we chose to have our wedding at The Fields of Blackberry Cove! We had our ceremony outside under the huge oak tree and reception in the refurbished barn. It was so beautiful! Doug and staff did a wonderful job setting up all the tables and chairs and getting everything ready. The were very accommodating and had a golf cart available to transport my elderly grandmother from the ceremony site in the field to the reception. Before the wedding Doug responded very quickly to any and all questions and was very patient with us when picking out linens and other aspects of the day. He even let us bring our dog who hung out in the lodge during the reception! We were very happy with everything and would definitely recommend The Fields to everyone!

We visited 4 venues and Blackberry Cove was the first. I had a very difficult time deciding between 3 out of 4 of the venues but eventually knocked one out of the running due to the location not being convenient. We went back to Blackberry Cove when deciding between the final 2 and booked it that day, all because of Doug. He is a miracle worker. When you are stressed over something for the 30th time throughout your planning process, you will be glad you chose Doug and his team. Any time I was ready to have a melt down, Doug took over and took care of the problem instantly. I had complete faith in him, even when it came down to something he could not control like the weather, because he just WORKS IT! When I was upset the morning of our wedding because of potential rain, he texted me a picture of the tables he had just set up while we were on our way there, and I instantly felt calm and happy. During the reception, he was like a little elf in the background, making sure everything flowed smoothly yet he remained inconspicuous. He is a hoot to boot! The staff was friendly, professional, and extremely attentive. The value was the best, in our opinion, for everything that is included - Doug is pretty much your "day of" planner, and you can rent pretty plates and glassware for like 10 cents a person. They also have tons of furniture, curtains, lights, and props you can use for the night free of charge. The venue is also so, so beautiful, with multiple locations for your ceremony. We chose to have our's under the tree, but loved that we had the barn and lodge as a back up if it did rain. The barn looked absolutely beautiful, as did the lush, green mountain views. Our guests raved that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. I actually cried the night after our wedding because I wanted to do it all over again! My only "heads up" is that they do book weddings Friday, Saturday, Sunday, so the space isn't necessarily your's for the whole weekend.

My husband and I couldn't have asked for a more special, beautiful wedding. The location is beautiful, the venue is spectacular and the owners and staff made sure everything ran on time and beautifully. We honestly couldn't have imagined having our wedding anywhere else but at the Fields of Blackberry Cove. Also like a lot of the other reviews quit looking around, this is the best venue and affordable there is. Doug and the employee's are the best in western north carolina

This is the most beautiful and secluded venue I have ever seen. Doug is the owner and he was always very attentive throughout the months before the wedding. The fields and barn are absolutely stunning, it ended up raining on our wedding day but they had a backup place for us, inside the lodge, which sat all my guests and was just as beautiful, they even started up the fireplace for us!

Doug and Freda are amazing and lovely people who will work hard to making your day beautiful. They pulled out all of the stops for my wedding and I could not have been happier with their gorgeous venue and fantastic service. And they offer a military discount.

The Fields of Blackberry Cove was the most PERFECT wedding venue in the Asheville area. Doug was helpful and a true visionary for my wedding. Honestly, I was so over wedding planning that I asked Doug to set everything up like he wanted it to be. He made all the last minute decisions and executed them beautifully. Doug answered all of my last minute questions. We were married under the Oak Tree in the field and had our reception in the barn. My wedding pictures in the field were amazing with the mountains as the backdrop. On top of all these things, this venue is SO reasonably priced! They honored my husband with a military discount and made us feel like family. I would recommend this venue to everyone!

Doug was so amazing!! Made our day perfect from the very start! The moment we stepped foot on the property we knew that was the place.. we just got this overwhelming feeling that Fields was perfect!!! Doug was very honest, did not slip any extra costs in and every interaction with him was wonderful! He also went to great lengths to make sure everything ran smoothly. My husband has a physical disability and it can be really hard for him to walk... they accommodated us at every turn and made sure that we did not feel like it was a burden! really top notch managing and the perfect venue!!!

THIS is the place you want to get married at, folks. Logistically - you get the entire day and all three facilities (The Fields, The Lodge, The Barn). They're handicap accessible, and an exceptional value.
Doug and his staff are incredibly caring and are completely on top of it. From Day 1 (a year out for us), it was obvious Doug's number one concern was being flexible and providing the most accomodating experience possible. I was so impressed they had everything on site (for a really exceptional price, I might add) - including a variety of chairs, tables, decorations, linens, and all servingware. I appreciated Doug's humor, calm, and expertise throughout the whole planning process, and could not have been in better hands.
The Fields, The Lodge, and the Barn are all absolutely gorgeous. We hardly did any decorating - simple supplementation was all that was necessary (cross that off your list!).
Because nobody had booked the day before our wedding, Doug let us do a rehearsal on site, and was the perfect host for all 20 some odd people in my family/wedding party. I couldn't fathom how we were going to fit all 120 guests into the lodge, but they did a pheneomenal job, and it didn't feel crowded at all. Additionally, you'll make the most gorgeous photographs on site - even in the winter. It's incredible.
On the day of the wedding, Doug and his staff were totally on it, and were the friendliest people.

The owner and staff are totally focused on making sure your event goes smoothly by being attentive to EVERY aspect of your event. From the first visit to tour the venue to the final moments of pulling away after the cleanup and closure Doug, Ken and their staff are right there beside you to make sure you have everything you need. They even jump in if/when other things you have hired out to be done might not be going the way it should to make sure your event goes the way you want it. They are very personable, professional and caring and you cannot ask for a better group of people to bring your special event together.
My daughter's wedding was PERFECT and with the smooth operations from this venue I could not have asked for a better experience.

The Fields of Blackberry Cove is a beautiful location to have any event! If the beauty of the mountains with a hometown feel is what you are looking for then this is your event venue!
Doug and his staff go above and beyond to make your special day perfect in every way. There was no request not met by them. They are easy to work with and strive to make your days vision a reality.
The event rental was as easy as telling our needs and the number needed and poof we had them!
The staff was friendly and did a great job.
The bridal suit is great. The fields are gorgeous, the barn is beautiful, and the lodge is cozy. So take your pick of any of these great spots because they each have their own flare!
Our day was perfect in every way because of all the hard work put into by everyone on site, the beauty of the venue, and the spirit of love in the air!

The Fields of Blackberry Cove couldn't have been a better choice for my husband and I to have our ceremony and reception. We were recommended to the venue by a co-worker and were impressed with the facility, the value and flexibility. Doug, the owner, was very accommodating and reassuring and made the process seamless. He was very encouraging of our ideas and let us bring our antique tractor as well as my horse. The day turned out beautiful and the rain missed us, and I was able to successfully ride my horse from the barn area down to the ceremony site by the tree and it was exactly what I wanted. Doug had a great staff and everyone helped with decorating and setting up tables with me and my family and they took care of little things (setting up drinks, taking decorations here and there, etc) and everyone complemented the wedding on how gorgeous it was and the venue/location. <3 you Doug and your venue!!!

I live in Florida, and we wanted to do a small wedding in NC. We found the Fields of Blackberry Cove online, and we were so impressed with everything that we booked it sight unseen. Doug made the process of planning a wedding from hundreds of miles away absolutely painless. Every time I was stressed out about anything, Doug had my problem solved in minutes. Doug is phenonmenal and a dream to work with. I seriously cannot say enough GREAT things about Doug and the absolutely beautiful venue at the Fields of Blackberry Cove. From the lodge, to the barn, to field surrounded by the beautiful mountains, we could not have asked for a more beautiful and idyllic place to get married. Everything about The Fields of Blackberry Cove is the highest quality. Doug did absolutely everything he could to make our day perfect- and it was! I couldn't be more happy with my experience with Doug and Fields of Blackberry Cove. The setting is gorgeous, the stable is a great place for receptions and can be dressed up or down to anyone's taste. Doug is friendly, sincere, and accommodating. He was a great help and very flexible with meetings and set-up/break down times. I looked at hundreds of venues around Asheville and truly feel that this venue offers the best ceremony space and reception area for the price (which was very reasonable).

The venue is one of the most beautiful spots in Western North Carolina. Combine that with Doug's sense of humor and charm and we could not have asked for more! Doug went out of his way to make sure that my daughter's wedding was everything she wanted. Based on the comments that we received from our guests, the day was perfect and all of our guests had a wonderful time. The barn was a great spot for the reception with plenty of room for dancing. I would highly recommend Doug and The Fields of Blackberry Cove.

the venue was very nice. the service and porfessionalism was great. the only thing we were concerned about, at all, was that the grass had not been mowed. It was very high which made a lot of clover and had several people get stung by bees. We understand that this can happen at any outdoor event, however, it seems as though the likelihood could have been reduced if the grass was mowed, reducing the clover. We loved the venue, and would highly recommend it.

I can not be happier with my experience working with Doug at the Fields. I fell in love with the venue the minute I stepped foot on the property. There is this special warmth and happiness that came over me the minute I drove up the driveway. The scenery cannot be beat. We had our ceremony at the large oak tree and the reception in the barn. Doug did everything in his power to make the day run seamlessly. He was calm when I was frazzled, he made me laugh constantly and he was always there to reassure me that he would take care of the little things. I can't put a price on what Doug provided on my wedding day. I would, hands down, 100%, recommend the Fields of Blackberry Cove.

I can't imagine a more friendly and accommodating staff. They were so flexible and it gave us such peace of mind knowing they've been through this a thousand times. Every time we explained to them one of our many challenges, like getting the table cloths, place settings, DJ, the event staff AND even the disco ball, they were right there with a "no problem" response. They got us through all of the challenges along the way. What a relief that was!
And, the barn wedding was exactly what we were looking for. Throw in the beautiful mountains and rolling hills, coupled with an awesome evening fire in the fire pit, and you have a perfect setting for what turned out to be a perfect wedding.

Doug was so helpful with everything, from useful decorating suggestions to last minute setup and execution, Doug handled it all and I was free to enjoy the day. The Fields of Blackberry Cove is a gorgeous venue! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a rustic yet polished venue that highlights the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina!

Doug,at Blackberry Cove, was very helpful with our needs to make the wedding reception one that would always be remembered. Doug was flexible to meet with us at times that met with our busy schedule. We were allowed to visit the venue many times to discuss our vision for the reception.

This was the most beautiful wedding venue I had seen during my search and working with Doug made it all the more perfect. He has a great ability to make sure everything works out just the way you want it while maintaining a calm and fun attitude. I can truly say my wedding wouldn't have been as perfect without Doug working behind the scenes. His mother is also great and made my grandmother feel welcome and comfortable while driving her around on the golf cart. I highly recommend The Fields of Blackberry Cove to any bride and groom looking for the perfect mountain wedding.

The Fields of Blackberry Cove is fantastic! It's in a beautiful setting for outdoor weddings with lovely back-up location in case of bad weather taking the worry out of planning. The barn was a fun place to have dinner. Doug was SO helpful with whatever we needed. He's fun, knowledgable, super helpful and responsive and great at calming nerves! Everyone was impressed with the location.

Doug and his staff were exceptional! I have never encountered such genuine care and concern from someone. My husband and I are both in the hospitality industry and we felt blown away by everything from start to finish. Doug was flexible, helpful, extremely organized and on task at all times. He even handled all the special requests from our family with grace and finesse, managing to make everyone happy.
I will recommend the Fields to anyone I know that needs a fantastic venue for a fantastic event!

We knew that The Fields of Blackberry Cove was the right fit for us as soon as we meet Doug Baker. Not only was the site a perfect setting for our wedding, but Doug and his team were extremely responsive with all our questions from beginning to end. Doug made us feel like family, and went above and beyond our expectations. The flexibility at The Fields of Blackberry was a huge selling point for us as many wedding venues in Asheville are very restrictive with food and beverage options. Even up until the last minute, when my flowers needing some quick adjusting, Doug had it taken care of immediately. His big heart, sense of humor, and thoroughness was much appreciated. We couldn't have asked for anything better for our once in a lifetime day.

Doug Baker went beyond anything that we could imagine in a host. Accommodating and flexible, he made our families feel at home and relaxed as we put together our wedding. Doug has worked with many vendors in the Asheville and Weaverville area. Everyone, from florists to bands to bus rentals and nearby hotels, has nothing but great things to say about Doug and his venue. It is off the beaten path, but a real gem when you find it. Everything was perfect!!!!

Fields of Blackberry Cove was the most beautiful wedding venue that I've seen in Asheville. We couldn't have picked a better place to get married! I had been searching for 2-3 months for a venue, and when I called Doug Baker to ask for more information, he was the most pleasant person that I spoke with on my entire search. Doug treats you like family and we absolutely loved working with him. Blackberry Cove offers more flexibility than most venues such as; allowing us to do our own food, a back-up for rain without having to rent a tent, and unlimited places on the property for the ceremony site. I would recommend this venue to anyone!

Well I guess I will start by saying my daughters wedding turned out exactly as she had wanted it. She wanted a simple outdoor wedding in the mountains. The Fields of Blackberry Cove was perfect for her. Doug is soooo sweet. He made us feel like family from day one. We looked all over Western N.C. for a venue in our budget. We found a lot of places that were beautiful....but the cost was outragous! We had almost given up when we came across The Fields of Blackberry Cove. It is rustic,but it has all the needed modern day amenities to have a wonderful wedding. Doug introduced us to Lauri Nichols from Asheville event planning. What an angel from heaven she was. I cannot say how strongly I suggest that every bride\mother of the bride use at minmium a day of coordinater\wedding planner. We were big D.I.Y.'s in the begining. Our budget was a third of the average wedding budget. what we learned is cut corners somewhere else Your planner\coordinater will be best money spent. You will be able to relax. Doug and Lauri were a dynamic team. Doug's mom even came in on the day of the wedding to say Hello,she ended up giving me some advice.Take a deep breath and enjoy this day, then she gave a very needed hug. (and some of the best chicken salad I have ever had) . The staff\family at The fields will not let you down. We will FOREVER sing their praise.

The Fields of Blackberry Cove was a beautiful location for our wedding and provided such a personal and helpful experience. Doug gave us a list of vendors for anything and everything we would need for the wedding, which was very convenient since we did most of the planning from out of state. Throughout the entire process Doug conducted business more like a family friend helping out whenever possible, rather than as if this was just another event hosted at his venue. Also the value for the price was amazing and we couldn't have found a better deal anywhere. We would recommend The Fields of Blackberry Cove to anyone wanting to have their wedding in the Asheville area, especially for outdoor weddings in the fall!

I can not say enough good things about The Fields of Blackberry Cove, Doug, and the rest of the staff there. The location is entirely gorgeous so don't worry about needing much in the way of decorations. The barn is perfect and the lodge provides a great place to get ready beforehand (and is a great backup in the event that it rains on your big day as it did on ours). Doug and his staff went out of their way to make our big day perfect.

It was such a pleasure to work with Doug... He made us feel relaxed and comfortable. We could not have chosen a better place to get married. It rained and at the last minute I decided to get married in the barn, the FIRST!.. He was awesome in making this happen.

My best friend's daughter had her rehearsal dinner here in the lodge and it was perfect. We worked with Doug and his staff for an "after the rehearsal dinner party" in the "barn". Everything was even better than what was promised. The location was great for the rehearsal dinner crew as well as the out of town guest coming in from Asheville. Everything was set up as discussed and he was extreamly flexible with the additional things we wanted to do including hanging candle lanterns in the windows, sharing his refrigerator space, setting up early and having a wonderful s'mores station around the bonfire. His location is the best example of what NC beauty and hospitality is all about. Thanks for a fantastic evening Doug!!

After three full days and many exhausting hours on the internet/email, we found this beautiful place that was exactly as I dreamed. After visiting and chatting with Doug, I thought wish I would have just came to his venue first. I wish I could describe how wonderful our wedding was in words, but words don't describe it. Doug and his staff made everything worry free. Doug made sure I got what I wanted, the way I wanted and that was a promise he kept, and I know he'll do the same for you. He told me through the whole planning process, that the day of the wedding I would have nothing to worry about and he was right. It was nice being the bride and actually enjoying every moment of our wedding. Thanks Doug and Staff; I would recommend you to anyone!

I was dreading the whole planning part of our wedding. What started out as a limited guest list turned into about 150 people. The thought of 150 people stuffed into a chapel and then transported to a hall of some sort was not appealing to us at all. I heard through the grapevine that The Fields of Blackberry had a gorgeous setting, a lodge and the barn (not to mention the fields). It suddenly clicked - we could do it all at one place and have plenty of room to roam! Doug is awesome! He is such a pro! I shared my lack of enthusiasm regarding the details and explained my desire to create something simple, elegant and intimate yet with a casual vibe. He totally got it. He then proceeded through a checklist of "the details" and was able to help with almost all of it. He had the chairs and tables and linens. The lodge has a kitchen. He hooked me up with a photographer, florist, caterer, band and even a printer! He totally erased the anxiety I was feeling before. Our weeding day was truly one of the bast days of my life. We were married on a sunny autumn Saturday outside at the Pavillion in the field next to a lovely big oak tree. Our guests sat in neat rows of white chairs and we said our vows with the warm sun on our faces and the brilliant show of autumn colors embracing all of us. I'll never forget how beautiful the setting was. (My mother still tells people about it.) We opted to do a cocktail party with heavy hor'deurves in the barn. We used white linens with simple orchid centerpieces. The barn has tons of these neat doors that slide open so it was an indoor reception with an "open air" feel. Everyone was comfortable and had plenty of room. Doug even left some toys nearby so that the small children could run and play in the field. Actually, many of us took walks in the field that day. I highly reccomend The Fields of Blackberry Cove. Doug and his family are running a first class operation there, and they make it seem so easy! P.S.The company I work for is planning our summer picnic there this year. I'm looking forward to returning!

We used Doug and his team for a beautiful cold outdoor wedding end of October. We had the ceremony under the oak and reception in the barn. Every little detail was covered. The setting was beautiful and the guests raved about it. We appreciated the bridal suite for 8 to get ready.doug let us add as much of our own touches as we desired. He is very easy to work with. Such a great celebration.

i would recommend this venue to anyone-- doug and staff kept a completely calm exterior while noting and executing every tiny detail. i hardly had to do anything for set up or tear down-- and neither did my wedding party, thankfully. doug dutifully fulfilled everything as promised without a hitch, and then delivered even more. he made it extremely clear what limitations were present so there were NO surprises. awesome. awesome. awesome.

Beautiful rainy mountain wedding!
My husband and I had a beautiful wedding here on 09/10/22. Doug was very knowledgable and always promptly answered my tons of questions in the 1+ year leading up to our day. We wanted to use some vendors that were not on his preferred list but he was very reasonable and it was no problem at all to get them approved. We really appreciated that he was flexible with the plan - it had rained during our wedding day but thankfully, stopped only a couple hours before our ceremony start time and we were still able to have the ceremony at our desired outdoor site.
Doug also handled all of our catering and it was delicious! Many of our guests raved about the food, particularly about the portion sizes being way bigger than your average wedding entree. We really enjoyed our tasting as well, we tried a TON of delicious food, so make sure to come hungry. I was honestly surprised that he cooked every item on our list that we wanted to try.
The only negatives were 1) no bathrooms near the barn and 2) a sewage smell was consistently wafting into the reception area. The only bathrooms are located in the lodge, which is a short walk up a hill from the barn. Not a big deal for most of our guests but was difficult for our older relatives. The sewage smell was very unpleasant and you could smell it both in the barn, where our dancefloor was and out on the patio, where we were eating. I asked our coordinator to see what the issue was - she was told the smell was produced from the rain mixing with the mulch they had laying around. Whether that's true or not, I would be surprised if they didn't know about it already because I saw another review from a year ago mentioning the exact same smell. It should definitely be fixed, no matter if it's the mulch or a septic tank issue.
Overall, those things did not ruin our day by any means, we still had an awesome wedding and it was still the best day of our lives!

An intimate experience
My Wife and I recently got married here, and even though it rained on our Wedding Day, Doug and his crew were amazing about moving it under the barn and they handled everything in an amazing way. The backdrop of the mountains after the rain made the pictures even better it was amazing! The only thing that was a little hard is i was not ready for some of the North Carolina Liquor laws, being from Tennessee, it took a lot to get the license for the day to be able to have liquor at the venue (but that's anywhere in NC). But with questions answered and planning, it turned out ok (be ready if you are out of state though!). The crew was great, they had a good speaker and mic system set up so we could have a vinyl DJ and we also had a cello player at the actual wedding. You won't find a better deal for your money than this place, and of all the Asheville area venues, this was the nicest, friendliest, and we had the best time! :)

LOVED our wedding at the Fields of Blackberry Cove. They book one wedding a day, and you pretty much have the grounds all day. Compared to other venues, they are very affordable and flexible. They have very few rules. Doug was very funny and gave a lot of advice. The only issue I had was that my wedding was Sunday, they had a wedding Friday and Saturday. I sort of felt that by Sunday they were worn out and I barely saw Doug at all, just his sidekick. A couple small decorative things I asked of them were missed, but overall everything went smoothly. His other staff is also very friendly and professional. The fields,mountains, and buildings on site are very beautiful, great for a fall wedding.

After a rather exhaustive search of venues, upon recommendation of a friend and co-worker, we ended up choosing the Fields of Blackberry Cove for our fall 2013 wedding. Doug was amazing to work with as co-ordinator, and unfailingly put me, the anxious bride, at ease. He offered suggestions when asked, but wasn't pushy with his own tastes and opinions. The venue itself is beautiful, and quite comfortably accommodated our 120 person wedding. We were allowed many liberties which other venues wouldn't. Being able to rent many items like dishes/tables/chairs/etc directly through them meant I could keep outside vendors to a minimum, which certainly eased the burden placed on us while planning. The barn provided an beautiful setting for our reception, and the giant tree was perfect for our outdoor ceremony. Doug was so helpful through the entire process, as well as the day of, I felt confident in walking away and hanging out with my bridesmaids, while still feeling confident that my day would go smoothly, and as planned.

I signed a contract with Doug site-unseen because we were planning our Asheville wedding from Colorado! I read his reviews and did my research, he seemed like a perfect match for us! Luckily we couldn't have been more right. Doug and his staff are absolute professionals that made me feel relaxed, taken care of and completely happy. They are so competent and clearly know just what they are doing. The property is gorgeous, especially if you're hoping to have an outdoor ceremony. I loved the barn setting for our reception and the lodge was perfect for getting ready. I'm sure they are very busy during the summer wedding season, and there were a couple of occasions when I didn't get a response to my emails and phone calls, but once I was able to reach him, Doug was extremely helpful. I'm not the kind of girl who has spent years dreaming of my wedding, but Doug turned it into a day I will be dreaming about for the rest of my life!

So, Doug was awesome. He's a laid back, which was great for us, but he was also totally on top of everything. We booked The Fields sight unseen based upon the reviews we had read, and the photos we saw. 2 months after booking we finally were able to visit(this was a destination wedding for us) and we were so happy that it was as awesome as we had thought. Our family also commented on what a gorgeous location it was (seriously, stunning) as well as how great Doug was.
If we had it to do all over again, we mos def would NOT change the location. The Fields at Blackberry Cove was perfect!

Doug was right there through the whole process and took all the pressure and worries away. All we had to do was show up and everything was taken care of without asking. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and was the most special day of our lives because of this exceptional venue!! A+++

Beautiful wedding venue
The Fields of Blackberry Cove is such a beautiful venue. From the first day we visited, we felt welcomed by Doug and were in love with all the venue had to offer. Our ceremony had a breathtaking view of the mountains and the barn looked lovely all decorated for the reception. Having a backup location for bad weather was also a huge bonus! We used the venue for our rehearsal dinner as well, which was great. My bridal party had so much fun spending all morning in the lodge getting ready for the wedding. Freda created incredible floral arrangements and brought our dream to reality with all the flowers and decor. Doug's catering was a major highlight and everyone loved the food. Everything Doug makes is delicious and we really enjoyed the process of tasting the food a few months before the wedding. Doug and his staff will make you feel like family and do such a wonderful job ensuring the wedding goes smoothly. This venue really has it all and I couldn't imagine a better wedding day.

We planned a destination wedding and did not see the venue until the day before our wedding... we were not disappointed! This place is beautiful! The staff is very accommodating and genuine. At times I felt like communication wasn't the easiest but in the end it all worked out perfectly.

Got a steal of a deal on this venue for my November wedding. The mountain surroundings are beautiful. You have full use of both the barn and the lodge on the property. The owners are very accommodating and helpful. Did I mention how beautiful the place is?? I would highly recommend this place to any prospective bride.
