As I reflect back a week ago, I am so thankful that we chose to have our daughter's wedding reception at the Felt Estate. Words can't begin to describe our joy!
Our daughter and her husband had their first date at the Felt Estate on a cold winter day in 2017. They went hiking to the Lake Michigan shoreline where they shared their first kiss. After their engagement, it wasn't surprising that the Felt Estate was the venue they wanted for their wedding reception. It was the perfect place to continue celebrating their love.
I can't say enough good about our experience with the Felt Estate, and in particular Derrick, our event coordinator. Derrick is kind, compassionate, and very accessible. He answers his phone and emails promptly (on the weekends and even on the 4th of July).
Derrick and the entire team were wonderful to work with pre-pandemic, but when COVID-19 brought unwanted news and uncertanties, Derrick was our advocate. He shared our desire for making this situation the best it could possibly be. Originally, we had a "Plan A" and a "Plan B" (if it happened to rain). On the day of the wedding, we were probably on "Plan J" and "Plan K"!! :) Derrick had many creative ideas to accommodate as many of our guests as possible using multiple spaces at the Felt Esate, but still abiding by the ever-changing state-mandated rules and guidelines. The staff at Felt went above and beyond to get spaces ready for us! (We are very thankful that we rented the whole estate rather than only the mansion/west lawn tent.)
Our caterer said that out of all the venues they have worked with during the coronavirus pandemic, they have been the most impressed with Derrick and Holden (the other event coordinator). Communication and knowledge are so important at a time like this.
While the day looked different than our original plans, it was still very dreamy and magical - everything the bride and groom hoped for!! As the bride's mother, I couldn't be more grateful!!!

Stress Free & Wonderful Experience
I seriously can’t stop talking about how amazing this venue is! The first time I visited the Felt for a walking history tour I was so in love. I’m so unbelievably grateful I can say this was my venue for my wedding on May 22, 2022! From the early stages of planning till the very end Derrick and the rest of the staff exceeded my expectations!
Derrick was SO helpful throughout the process and very detailed about everything. He was so quick to answer any questions I may have and was so accommodating! It was such a nice special touch to even receive a gift from the Felt to congratulate us on our big day. -

We feel so lucky to have had our wedding at The Felt Estate! Derrick & Holden are a dream team. They were both extremely responsive, helpful and kind to work with. The venue is beyond dreamy and Derrick & Holden have done an incredible job with renovations and keeping the historical charm and character intact. Our guests could not stop talking about what a unique and beautiful venue it was. The photo opportunities are incredible with the lush gardens, beautiful home and the gorgeous interiors. You will not regret hosting your wedding here! -

The felt estate and those that run the wedding rentals really want you to have the perfect wedding day. They kept up on the several changes we made weeks before the wedding in terms of layout and they even allowed us to move the wedding to the ballroom the day of when we had the potential of rain. Also when the rental company failed to put the table linens out they stepped up and helped with setting out the linings. They also do a great job keeping mansion and the wedding tent clean for your big day. -

Felt Estate
We were absolutely thrilled with our choice of the Felt Estate. Not only did it check the boxes of a unique and vintage venue, Derrick and Holden were such gracious people to work with. They were so knowledgeable and answered all of our questions and then some. Their response time was fantastic especially with everything changing so quickly with COVID restrictions. We were so lucky and could have our day just as planned. On site on our wedding day, they were around for whatever we needed but never in the way. We would absolutely recommend their services and the Felt Estate to anyone! We had so many people mention how beautiful the venue was. We wouldn’t have changed a thing! -

Perfect in Every Way
The Felt Estate is an absolute dream venue. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to get married there! I was really drawn to the multiple spaces across the estate which allow for countless options when it comes to staging your event. We opted to get married in front of the chapel (stunning!), have cocktail hour up by the mansion, dinner in the tent, and back up by the mansion for dancing. It flowed so well and our guests loved getting to explore the estate throughout the evening. The true gem of the Felt, though, is getting to work with Derrick and Holden. They are pros—there is no question they cannot answer. They guided us through changing COVID regulations proactively and with such kindness. On the big day, they were present to help but also hung back and just let us and our loved ones enjoy a perfect day. I would do it again 100 times if I could!! -

After rescheduling our big wedding twice due to COVID, my now husband and I decided that we didn't want to wait any longer to get married. So we decided to do a small ceremony and celebration with just our bridal party and immediate family and the big wedding next year with our original plans. After researching I came across the Felt Mansion and thought it was so beautiful and the perfect spot for our smaller celebration. We rented the Carriage House and from start to finish Derrick was absolutely incredible to work with! He answered all of my questions in a timely manner (and there were a lot) and was just so helpful and friendly.
On the day of the grounds were absolutely stunning, the carriage house had a beautiful bridal suite and grooms suite for us to get ready in and the gazebo was the perfect location for our ceremony. We even had a wedding gift waiting from Derrick and Holden when we arrived to the venue. We were also lucky and we were the only wedding on the property that day so we were able to take photos up at the big mansion and all around the grounds. Everything was so magical and I felt so lucky to have the Felt as my venue.
I would highly recommend them! The Carriage House and Gazebo were perfect for our small ceremony but in seeing the grounds the large tent, mansion, and chapel were absolutely stunning for a larger celebration.

I would recommend having your event at The Felt Mansion! We enjoyed our wonderful wedding there on September 26, 2020. Derrick was amazing at helping with the planning and so flexible with our ideas. The mansion and grounds are beautiful and timeless! Book your event today!

The Felt Estate is such a beautiful venue for a wedding in any season- they have trees for fall color, pines for the winter and so much wildflower fields in the spring and summer. Our guests #1 compliment was on the venue. There are also so many options as to where you want to hold the ceremony/reception. We used the white chapel for the ceremony and the mansion as an indoor reception. I had the liberty to decorate as much or as little as I wanted since the mansion was already so beautiful- and the amount of rooms was perfect for the wedding party and our family. They offer the ability to stay the night in the mansion the night of your event- I regret not doing that! Our photographers also couldn't get enough photos because there are endless photo ops around the estate!!
Holden-Alee was such an amazing company to work with- they helped make the our wedding just as amazing as I pictured- they know exactly what to do for a wedding or any event! They provided recommended vendors in so many price points I was so please with all their recommendations. -

Enchanting
Prepare to be enchanted! We had a magical wedding at The Felt Estate. The property is immaculate, sprawling with natural beauty and meticulously groomed grounds. The beautiful and expansive mansion is welcoming for all guests to enjoy and explore. But, the best part...our event went off without a hitch all in part to the amazing support of Holden and Derrick, the estate’s coordinators. I have never experienced such proactive support and guidance from a venue. Their passion for the venue brought out all the best and I could never thank them enough for keeping everyone where they needed to be and everything planned perfectly. -

Megan Sent on 10/09/2017We had our wedding at The Felt Mansion in September 2017. The grounds and the mansion itself are gorgeous and the perfect backdrop for a wedding. We chose to have our ceremony at the water garden which was beautiful. We received tons of compliments on the venue.
This isn't an all-inclusive venue so be prepared to bring in vendors for food, bar, linens, etc. Felt does provide tables, chairs, and a tent (though you have to pay extra for them). We hired a day-of coordinator to coordinate all our vendors, which was very helpful. There are Felt staff on site for the day of the event, but they don't serve as planners or coordinators, so I'd recommend hiring someone if you don't want to handle vendors yourself.
We had access to the entire grounds which was great for pictures, cocktail hour, lawn games, etc. And people loved exploring the mansion (though watch out for ghosts). We didn't need a lot of decor or flowers either since it's already so beautiful. -

Emily Sent on 06/21/2018I absolutely LOVED my wedding at the Felt Mansion! I had always dreamed of a romantic, vintage wedding and this venue made my dreams come true! I had my ceremony in the front of the chapel, cocktail hour in the Mansion, and the reception in the onsite tent for about 200 people. Guests raved about how beautiful the whole venue was. They said that cocktail hour flew by because they had so much fun exploring all 3 floors of the Mansion and the grounds. Thank you so much for everything, Felt Mansion!

Staci was our contact person in the planning process and her team that was there the day of was incredible as well. The planning process was easy. Receptiveness was great and speedy. The venue is beautiful and the grounds were exactly what we wanted. I'd recommend this venue to anyone that wants a rustic and outdoor vibe!
