It was a perfect day!!
The event planning team made our small post-elopement lunch reception super easy to set up. The room was beautiful with a spectacular view of the water and mountains from the patio, the food was delicious, and the serving staff were wonderful. The valet service made parking easy for everyone, which is not always the case right in the city. It's also a perfect downtown waterfront location for any guests who want to book a hotel room. -

Picture Perfect
The Edgewater's Olympic Ballroom was such a romantic and enchanting place to host our wedding reception. Dancing while watching the Seattle summer sunset behind the Olympic Mountains over Elliott Bay was a magical experience and one of our core memories from the entire night!! Nikita, Karly, and the Edgewater staff were an absolute pleasure to work with and helped accommodate all of our guests' dietary restrictions and last minute requests. -

Beautiful venue, great food, wonderful event staff
I can't say enough good things about the Edgewater for a wedding. When we did a walk through of the space initially - I wasn't so sure as it had a pretty traditional hotel ballroom feel (with an insane view). But on the night of - the chandeliers, the lighting, the views -- it was truly spectacular. We even saw orcas! The food was fantastic (so many compliments from guests!) and the staff working the event was even better (so attentive, helpful, and kind). The day was perfect, The Edgewater event coordinator was very helpful, and we were so thrilled with how everything turned out.
Only negative was the front desk staff, who weren't associated with the wedding. They tried to charge us twice for our room, gave some people trouble with gift bags, and they were pretty rude when we called for a late checkout. The only downside to an otherwise perfect venue. -

Exceptional Experience!
The Edgewater was accommodating at every turn, and their friendly and extremely professional staff was second to none. Food was delicious, and the room could not have been more perfect for our needs. We feel so fortunate that they had the perfect size room, with the limited planning time we had, for our event. Even if we had more time, we really don't think it could have gone better! -

Perfect Day!
From start to finish the day was perfect! We had a super fun cocktail hour and ceremony outside with city views, then a beautiful reception inside with amazing views of the Sound and the Olympics. The Golden Hour glow made dinner and speeches magical! The food and staff were great! They were very flexible with all our specific requests throughout the process as well. Would definitely recommend!!! -

Great venue, beautiful views of the sound rain or shine. Dog friendly hotel and venue in case you'd like to include your pup! All our guests had nothing but amazing things to say about the food and venue. Great food! Great views!
The views, location, food, and staff all get 5/5. We wanted to serve something for our wedding that they did not have on their menu; they were flexible and custom-designed a beautiful buffet for us with the entree of our choice. Just an absolute pleasure working with this venue. -

Wedding Reception for a Smaller Wedding
The staff was incredibly professional and helped the entire reception run smoothly. Our Edgewater contact, Kate, was very responsive and helpful the entire time leading up to and during the event. We received many compliments from our guests about the food and the beauty of the venue. -

Beautiful Spring Wedding
The Edgewater Hotel was an excellent choice for our ceremony and reception. The staff and catering team were wonderful and we couldn't be happier with their service. The rooms are on the expensive side, but the venue rental and brunch were both an excellent value Highly recommend! -

A Magical Venue and Superb Event Team
I am an officiant and recently had to arrive at the Edgewater several hours before the ceremony. Amanda ( Director of Events) and the Front Desk staff took such great care of me and provided space for me to rest and prepare for the ceremony. I also got to watch the team seamlessly set up for both the ceremony and the reception and serve the guests during cocktail hour. They were beyond fantastic. You will have a beautiful wedding at The Edgewater. The water view and ambience are magical. @officiantgrace www.gracemacleod.com/weddings -

Amazing and elegant waterfront venue in the heart of Seattle
We got married at The Edgewater Hotel last Fall, and it absolutely made our wedding! In the early stages of planning our wedding, we decided we wanted a water-front venue to showcase the beautiful water that makes Seattle so special, as almost all of our guests were coming from out of state. After narrowing it down and visiting 4 venues, we chose The Edgewater due to its prime location in downtown Seattle and absolutely stunning Olympic Ballroom. The Ballroom is the perfect wedding venue because it's elegant, large enough for our wedding size (90 guests), and is laid out very conveniently with the Terrace Room for cocktail hour, centrally located restrooms, and inexpensive parking at the garage across the street. Importantly, you also get the water view without any worry of rain. Our rain plan was simply, "Don't go outside"! (This was a major downfall of other waterfront venues we looked at, and this is Seattle, after all..) The one tricky thing with the Ballroom is the backlighting from the window in the Ballroom. We had an early evening ceremony (5:30 PM) in late summer, so the sun wasn't too low yet, but just make sure you choose a photographer who has worked at the venue and can still get good photos in the lighting. The bridal ready room was also fantastic, and right on the water. Gorgeous view while getting our hair and makeup done! Also, the food was delightful. Overall, we got many many compliments about the food as well as the venue overall in terms of elegance and practicality. Some venues are so spread out that guests can have a hard time figuring out where to go, but there isn't any problem with that here.
Our initial contact person was Cassie, whom we really liked, but we were suddenly changed over to another consultant, Amanda, only 2 months before our wedding. It was quite stressful initially, but once we met Amanda (shortly after the transition was announced, with Cassie also present), all our worries were assuaged, and Amanda did an excellent job with our wedding. We were 100% pleased with the way things turned out, and she was very kind and easy to work with. Fantastic service!
Overall, I wouldn't say The Edgewater is an inexpensive wedding venue, but it also isn't as pricey as some of the other nice waterfront venues in the Seattle area. What you get for the money is absolutely top-notch, and if it fits your wedding budget, you will love what you get. When we look at our wedding photos, we see amazing views of the water, the city skyline, and the gorgeous architecture of this one-of-a-kind Seattle hotel. So happy we chose the Edgewater! -

Incredible venue
Wow - everything about The Edgewater was perfect for our wedding. The ballroom was beautiful and an amazing setting for both the ceremony and reception. Catrina, the sales manager, was so helpful throughout the planning process and always available to answer questions. Dinner and drinks were incredible, and the staff was so attentive the entire night. Our guests had nothing but good things to say about the hotel and loved staying there. I highly recommend them as our wedding was perfect. -

The staff at the Edgewater are true professionals. We worked with Catrina for most of the wedding logistics. She is communicative, responsive, detailed, and very experienced in the wedding industry. We consulted with Catrina and relied on her for insights when making our decisions. We were very pleased with her and her staff leading up to the wedding and on the day of our wedding. For room block coordination, we worked with Colette. She is a rock-star. Colette helped us with the changing demands of our guests and coordinated distribution of our welcome bags perfectly. She is also very detailed in tracking and communicating last minute changes to the front desk so our guests' check-in experience was smooth. We could not be happier with the Edgewater Hotel, and we appreciate its staff’s dedication to make our wedding day special. For any couple who wants a quintessential Seattle wedding, we recommend this venue as you will be in great hands. -

The Edgewater is the most beautiful place to get married. Seriously. Just got to Six-Seven, their restaurant for happy hour and you'll see its expansive stunning views of the water. From start to finish, Cassie at the Edgewater helped to plan a seamless wedding. The venue is gorgeous, the food is so good, and it's nice that a bulk of the items needed for a wedding (chairs, linens) are included with the Edgewater. -

While I would say that the photographer galvanized the memories of our daughter's wedding like non other could (Sean Hyot is pure genius and an awesome person); the floral people and planners and officiant did a fine job as well; The Edgewater and its staff made the penultimate Seattle setting work like clockwork...from the prep rooms for the bride and groom and their entourage with morning mimosas and sandwiches or beer and sliders for the men, by the sea....or the proximity to run through the Pike Place market and sculpture park for great place and time photos...The Edgewater staff were like Disney; seemlessly making every detail fall into place to pull an indoor/outdoor by the Sea wedding off beautifully.
Catrina was so calm and professional, advising, confirming and arranging everything, right down to the hotel bonus stay at a sister hotel in the future for the bride and groom, who most definitely look forward to revisiting the Nobel house chain to make future great memories. -

I always wanted to get married outside by the water. However, due to my husband's work schedule we had to opt for a winter wedding. I started researching venues and kept coming back to the Edgewater both for its value and the way the ballroom brings the outdoors in with the panoramic windows and view of the Pacific Northwest. Meeting with Catrina sealed the deal. She was extremely responsive and always was able to find an answer to our endless list of questions that came up throughout the planning process. She did a great job of including both my mom and I in all the communication, so were all on the same page. She even helped us customize a menu for a brunch wedding by incorporating our favorite foods. On the day of the wedding I was very impressed that all the staff knew the schedule for the day and did a great job keeping us on track. It was so nice having everything included and provided one less thing to worry about. My only regret is that I didn't eat more of the delicious food. Typically the food is subpar and doesn't stand out when you are eating in a large group setting; however, I can honestly say our wedding brunch was one the best meals I have ever had. If you are looking for a spectacular view, an organized team and an all-inclusive option for your wedding day then look no further. -

The Edgewater was absolutely lovely! The staff, our hotel room, the venue, the food. My wife and I opted to have a destination wedding in Seattle. It was very hard picking a venue/food everything sight unseen. One of the reasons we chose the Edgewater besides the excellent location on the water was due to their very timely/professional responses to inquiries. Catrina w/ the Edgewater was always very fast to respond - and very thorough in her responses. In regards to pricing, the Edgewater was very reasonable compared to any other venues within the same level. We had a small wedding (15 people +3 babies including ourselves). At first, I wasn't sure they were going to give us any special treatment because we were getting married there. The rooms are rather pricey at the edgewater and we picked a mid-level room...they didn't offer any specials because we were getting married. However, we arrived one day prior to the wedding and tried for a very early check-in and only had to wait a few hours before the room was ready. We wandered around town, it was no trouble. When the room was ready, we found that we had been double-upgraded. We were blown away - and the room was absolutely beautiful. The staff sent us champagne and chocolate -covered strawberries that night. Our wedding ceremony and reception was held in the same room(The Forest Room) - which had a great view of the water and a very large heated balcony. The manager, Jeff greeted us prior to the wedding and checked on us throughout the night. Another manager, Vinn(?), did as well. The room was setup almost perfectly - we did rearrange the chair for the ceremony, but no big deal. Our servers for the night, Willy and Bob were OUTSTANDING! Willy was the main point of contact - and he was literally ON POINT. Our appetizers and food were unbelievable. Our guests could not say enough about how perfect the food and everything was. We would definitely recommend the Edgewater to anyone. -

This was the perfect Seattle venue. You can’t beat the views – getting married as the sun sets behind the Olympics is simply stunning. Everyone raved about the amazing salmon and steak. This was not your typical wedding food. The staff was very attentive to every detail. We worked with Christiana and she made sure that everything went seamlessly. We didn’t have anything too out of the ordinary as far as wedding details, and so we decided to not hire a day-of wedding coordinator. I’m glad we didn’t because the Edgewater does such a great job of coordinating everything on their own. We also had the rehearsal dinner in the Forest Room (adjoining the restaurant) and they did a fabulous job of coordinating and managing that party as well. We would recommend using the Edgewater for any event – they truly know how to do everything right. -

Great service and amazing staff! Everyone was professional and friendly. The food was delicious. I know the bride is obvious in a big white dress but everyone was treated great and I really enjoyed my time there.
The only weird thing was that they only have one clothing rack so we used it in the bridal room, but it would make sense to have another for the groom's room as well when getting ready so the clothing is hung up. -

The Edgewater was a dream venue! I can't describe how amazing my reception was there. It was just gorgeous. the food was great, the wait staff and bartenders were wonderful, and the event coordinators were fantastic to work with! Catherine and Christiana were so responsive, even when I asked tons of questions! My only complaint was that the mark up on the alcohol was a bit excessive, but in the end it didn't even matter. Everything was completely taken care of, I never worried about a thing! Totally worth it. :) -

Best seattle hotel for out of towners!
We didn’t get married here, but it was our home hotel for all our guests. It was fabulous. The views are unbeatable. The penthouse suite is perfect for getting ready, we had 13 girls getting hair and make up done in there and it never felt cramped.
We had our after party at the bar there and the staff was amazing. So helpful and accommodating.

I am a wedding planner who has worked with The Edgewater on a few different events. I am always very impressed by their professionalism. Catrina has a wicked-fast turnaround time on emails and is willing to host as many meetings as you need in order to figure out every detail. It is a pleasure to work with them. The communication from this business is stellar and they take good care of their clients. I would highly recommend considering their space for any kind of event! -

Beautiful Venue + Great Staff
We had a beautiful October wedding at the Edgewater Hotel! Catrina and the rest of the team at the hotel did an amazing job of helping us prepare for the day. We got a perfect, sunny autumn day in the Olympic Ballroom with stunning views out over the water. The food was excellent, and everything was setup and ready to our specifications. Flow between the ballroom and the terrace worked wonderfully for cocktail hour and mingling. All our guests raved about the venue, and we couldn't have asked for a better day! -

We wanted a venue that would be easy for our traveling guests, and would show off Seattle! The Edgewater Hotel hit all of our needs, and then some. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this venue, and Catrina, who was our onsite event coordinator. All of the staff was amazing, and our guests were blown out of the water by what this hotel provided in service, amenities, and views! Yes, it was a little costly in some areas (downtown Seattle hotel right on the water!), however, well within the modern day average cost of a wedding. The way they helped put everything together the day of was better than I ever could have imagined. Catrina's quick responses and continued communication during the entire year of planning was incredibly helpful throughout this process, and never made me feel forgotten or concerned. The food was so delicious!! All of our guests were raving about every single bite. I highly recommend the Edgewater Hotel as a venue for any wedding or event - we look forward to returning yearly to celebrate our anniversary! -

We had our mid-Nov. wedding at the Edgewater and we're so glad we had it there and with the outcome of everything.
We started looking for venues in Jan. of the same year and after going back/forth with their Director of Catering, we booked in early Feb. By March or so we were passed onto a new Event/Catering Sales Mgr because the director left. This person didn't inform us of the price/menu changes or send me the recap emails I asked for after we met. My husband was furious, hence the 4 stars for Responsiveness for this review! The good news is we were passed onto a new Catering Sales Mgr, Katie Harmon because the last person also left. Even though we were on our 3rd person, we were so grateful it was Katie!
Katie was so responsive and thorough with everything! She was also very friendly and we felt she truly wanted to make our day really special. She was there the day-of until dinner and she made sure to introduce us to our banquet captains, Becky and Johanna - they also were fantastic and really paid attention to our guests and their let's say "drinking habits" and kept us in line with our bar tab. Early on in the day, Katie also checked-in on us as we were getting ready because she wanted to make sure our "getting ready" room she booked for us was perfect and that the water and glasses were replenished.
We chose to go with a buffet which includes a chef's choice appetizers which all my guests were raving about. They also raved about the mashed potato bar and said that the food was amazing. They put on a very beautiful display for the buffet and I am so happy we chose that for our dinner option.
Because we had less guests than planned, Katie allowed us to use a part of our food/beverage minimum towards our rehearsal. They made sure that there was plenty of appetizers, water and wine/beer for our wedding party. We were very pleased with that!
It was a beautiful and unforgettable night. Thank you so much, Katie for making it a perfect night for us! -

The ballroom at the Edgewater is stunning. Our wedding day turned out to be a torrential downpour (very Seattle), and the view was still beautiful. The staff were all helpful and, most importantly, took care of everything the day-of (except for a few things we did ourselves). It turned out perfect :-) -

Perfect Wedding on the Seattle Waterfront
Our wedding at the Edgewater in mid-August was everything we hoped for and more. If you are looking for an elegant yet fun space around downtown Seattle, this will fit the bill. We heard from our guests how much they loved it - it is not your average hotel wedding venue and the service is top notch. We worked with Catrina for over a year from booking the venue to the wedding, and she was responsive, professional and prompt every step of the way. She was really helpful in accommodating our requests as they came up, within the parameters of what the hotel allows. It is not an inexpensive venue, and we did have some sticker shock at the cost of catering and alcohol, but something to keep in mind is the level of resources and service that goes with that cost. From the front desk and valet to the wait staff in the ballroom, there was always someone there to assist when needed. They know how to run a wedding. The food and drinks were also delicious; we got great reviews from guests on the appetizers and dinner.
The view and setup of the ballroom were the main reasons that we chose the Edgewater, since a lot of our guests were coming from out of town and we wanted to show off our hometown while making travel to the venue simple. The decor is very modern and unique yet true to the Pacific Northwest. Another great thing about the venue is its proximity to good photo locations. Our bridal party took photos at the Seattle Aquarium with the ferris wheel in the background, and the family photos were in front of the newly painted Orca mural on the outer wall of the Edgewater. And while it was a cloudy day, the view did not disappoint and we loved watching the sunset and passing boats throughout dinner and dancing. We had about 140 guests in total, and this just about filled the room entirely. I would not hesitate to suggest the Edgewater to anyone and I am looking forward to staying there in the future to relive our perfect day.

I had my ceremony in a church and the reception at the Edgewater, however they also provide ceremony set-up if desired. The Olympic Ballroom is the most beautiful venue location for the quintessential Seattle wedding. The large bay windows look out at Elliott Bay and the Olympic mountains, with occasional passing ferries. You will save money on decorations since the room's bay windows, chandeliers and mirrors are very elegant - I only ordered the table centerpieces. I had 90 guests attend, seated comfortably at 10 rounds of 9. The food and service were outstanding. The only thing I would warn about is that they apparently have frequent turnover of their event managers (mine left half way through the planning process and the new EM was not up to speed; caused a lot of unneeded stress), so even though the venue comes with an EM I would recommend getting a day-of coordinator as well to ensure consistency. -

Lisa and her staff of miracle workers turned my unknown vision into a work of art. Everything was top notch, the food was amazing (mashed potato bar for dinner, and FRENCH FRIES with dipping sauce at 10pm were major highlights!). I seriously could not have planned my wedding from across the country without her.
That is to say nothing of the venue and its amazing beauty. The pictures do not do it justice (and you're speaking to a reformed skeptic of the 'urban lodge' being too cutesy - its not! Super stylish and modern!)
You will not be disappointed! Other than saying "YES!" to my then fiance, now husband, choosing the Edgewater was one of the best decisions I've ever made. -

We picked the Edgewater for its gorgeous window view at the Olympic room, and we were not disappointed! We were even graced with a sunset over the water during our ceremony (be sure to look up sunset in an almanac!) Our pictures, which we took all over the hotel, turned out amazing. We got rave reviews on the entrees (for a very picky family!) and my husband and I thought they were even better than when we did the tasting. Very happy with the service overall, and their coordinator Ms. Chapman.
A few warnings: extras will be expensive. If you are planning on paying for parking for your guests, it could get a bit hairy - you'll have to figure out a way to hand out parking passes to everyone, and make sure they're for the right parking location (at the hotel, or across the street.) We had a few complaints about the servers, but the bartender was an absolute doll, going above and beyond for everyone. -

What a fabulous location! The staff was courteous, gracious, and willing to help with many things.
Food was really good but the price of passable trays and price of bottled water was a shock.
It was worth it, though. We had a great time. -

This venue is stunning! We got married in October, but the weather was perfect and the sun was setting as we were getting married, and it made an incredible backdrop! You have to use the in-house catering, but there are a lot of options and they're all delicious. We did have some difficulties prior to the wedding day (the hotel event planner made it seem like certain things weren't an issue in person, but then in email those things were non-negotiable), but overall really happy with our choice. And our wedding planner worked with the hotel to make everything perfect, so the process was less-stress. -

Intimidate wedding
The lighting was bad, so I wouldn't recommend having the wedding at night if you plan to take pictures. The food was amazing but the service was just ok. The coordinator was very helpful via email, but I would say when I arrived, I was a bit confused on where to go, as there weren't any clear instructions and no one there to meet with me. But overall, the coordinator did answer all my questions and was able to give me a clear answer on cost. -

My husband wanted a venue with a waterfront view. And, I wanted to be sure his (only) request was satisfied. We looked at a few places in the area: Palisades and McCormick & Schmick's in SLU, but nothing compared to the Edgewater Hotel in terms of the wedding space. Their ballroom is spectacular. The food spectacular. Their rooms are spectacular.
Cons: the guest experience at their hotel was average to below. For some reason, getting room service, valet and front desk service was very difficult. The rooms are beautiful, don't get me wrong - but if it takes more than 2 hours to get a cart and/or food delivered to your room it impacts your stay. And, if you do the diligence to call your car up to the lobby in advance and its not there when you arrive, you question the level of service they provide their guests. Granted it may have been an off day, but a simple explanation would've helped us to understand.
We also had some communication breakdown between us and the onsite coordinator during our wedding. Everything leading up to our wedding was excellent. However, day-of we felt like the follow through on our contract was below average. Perhaps that wasn't intentional, but we did leave the Edgewater with a feeling our onsite coordinator checked out the day of our wedding. -

The Edgewater Hotel is a beautiful venue to have a wedding in Seattle. The staff at the Edgewater, including the catering manager and banquet captain were very accommodating throughout the entire process. The food is good and very timely. The day of our wedding was sunny and we definitely paid for the view that the Olympic Ballroom has to offer. The Terrace and balcony are great for the cocktail hour if it is nice outside. Included in our package was a bridal suite, however we do wish it was a bit closer to the ballroom as it was on the far end of the hotel. The room that the bridesmaids got ready in was a board room and there was no bathroom in the room. We had to share a bathroom with other events that were going on at that time. This made it difficult to get makeup done. I also think that the Edgewater could have done a bit better about accommodating for food being provided in the bridal suite. -

The Edgewater is a gorgeous place to have a wedding! Since there are a lot of glowing reviews here I'll focus on the cons:
- This isn’t a cheap place to have a wedding. We knew that going in, but were disappointed with the “hidden costs”. They really just nickel and dime you for everything. For example, we had an open bar and were charged $8 per cocktail – which we chose going into it. However, we had a ridiculously high number of soda charged to our final bill and were puzzled by how much soda we drank. Turns out, the $8 per cocktail does not include the soda mixers! They double charge you. $8 for the cocktail and then $5 per $5 per can of soda for the mixers. When I asked about it, they said “oh, they only use a little soda per cocktail so 1 can goes a long way”. It’s still extremely misleading and we got charged for 80 cans of soda ($400). They also charge drinks on consumption and insist that it usually averages out to 3 drinks per guest. We were skeptical of that from the beginning. Even with plenty of nondrinker guests (and some heavy drinkers too), our bill turned out to average 6.5 drinks per person.
- Multiple people at the Edgewater told me that we didn’t need to hire a day-of wedding coordinator because they have the catering manager there for you. If I did it again, I’d hire a day-of coordinator. Our catering manager (who has since left) said she would help with the flow of the day. She dropped the ball on that. I had friends help set up for me, and they said that our coordinator was nowhere to be found. She wasn’t there to meet the vendors arriving and my friends were thankful that they knew most of what was going on so they could help. They even had multiple people try to page our coordinator, and she was nowhere to be found. Another example is that no one told our vendors when to eat which caused a delay on the day-of. -

Let me just start out by saying that the view from the Olympic Ballroom at the Edgewater is amazing! Nothing that we saw when we looked at venues compared.... but that is just it when it comes to their service, their value, etc.... you are paying BIG bucks for that view. Let's start out with our coordinator. When putting down a deposit and signing the contract we met with a lady who said she loves working there. "I worked here 10 years and don't want to work any where else because what better view do you have than here". Our mistake number one, because after trying to contact her for about a month regarding our second payment, I got an email from another lady who said that she was going to be handling our wedding. How nice. I asked her if we could meet with her since it is weird to start giving all our trust for our big day to someone we haven't met and then after meeting with her we had the same problem. Given they said she had a family emergency, I understanding. But this third person who said she was going to handle our wedding said, "Don't worry we have everything you said you wanted on file and so I will know about all the details and am now up to speed". ... She lied. This third lady we saw ONCE during the entire wedding day. I was introduced to two other people I didn't know when I was shown to the bridal suite where my bridal party was going to be getting ready and then at the reception the "third lady" came up to congratulate us during dinner and I didn't see her at all after that.... But let me get to the rest of everything about the reception. Food was good or so I thought. Apparently, the appetizers were not enough for everyone to get more than one thing. There were three different appetizers, made per amount of people. I heard later on that some guests were only able to get one thing and that often times there was only one person passing one plate around… when you pay for a $11000 minimum you expect more I guess. Next thing, be sure if you work with the Edgewater you are clear to them that tables being released for the buffet should be in chronological order. We arranged our tables assuming they would release table 1 first then 2, and so on. We had table 10 full of people we didn’t really know and that table got released even before our family members. NOT OKAY! Lastly, the banquet captain had them open up the dessert table after announcing we were doing our first dance so everyone flocked to the dessert table and no one was around to watch us dance. Common sense people! Hope this review helps. The view was amazing, but just know that is pretty much what you are paying for here because their service sucks! -
