Amazing dress shop!

I cannot recommend The Dress Shop enough! After visiting several bridal stores and either not finding the right dress or not having the best experience, I decided to stop into The Dress Shop as my last store--just to see what they had. From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcome and taken care of.
Although I'm sure all of their stylists are wonderful, I was incredibly lucky to work with Isabel, and I truly cannot give her enough praise. She was absolutely incredible. Isabel was so knowledgeable about every aspect of the gowns--fabric, designers, styles, silhouettes, details--you name it. She answered every question we had and made me feel reassured and completely comfortable, more than any other shop I visited (and I visited a good few!).
One thing I loved was how personal the experience felt. During my first consultation, Isabel asked about my (then) fiancé, how we met, and details about our wedding day. It truly felt like they cared about me and wanted to get to know my story. I honestly felt like I became friends with them! There was never an ounce of pressure. In fact, it was the opposite--they respected when I needed time to think and never made me feel rushed or questioned my decisions. It was such a refreshing, positive experience.
This shop--and especially Isabel--is genuinely at the very top of my list of wedding vendors. I've been excited to write this review since the day I bought my dress! Even after my dress purchase, I visited a few more times to look for a veil, jewelry, and accessories, and every single person I interacted with (front desk, phone calls, stylists) was so kind, encouraging, and helpful.
I found my dream dress, veil, and bracelet here, and the entire experience was something I'll cherish forever. If you're unsure where to go--especially if you've tried multiple stores like I did--please visit The Dress Shop. You will not regret it.

said yes to my dress!

The Dress Shop was my first stop on day two of wedding dress shopping. I had already visited two stores the day before, and found a possible contender, but my experience here completely changed everything.

The entire process was so thoughtfully designed. Dress shopping can be overwhelming, but Olivia was incredible to work with - she was patient, intuitive, and asked the right questions to help me make confident decisions (not my strong suit!) without ever feeling pressured.

I ended up finding a dress that outshined the one from the day before. Still, I had one last appointment at one of the biggest bridal stores in Michigan, and I wanted to take it to either top this dress or confirm it was the one. The Dress Shop team was incredibly understanding and told me that if I called that day to say I was coming back, they’d keep the store open a little later so I could say yes to my dress.Sure enough, I did - and even then, I still wanted to sleep on my decision, and they let me put down a smaller deposit and call first thing Monday morning to finish up payment.

Their kindness, flexibility, and genuine support helped me find my dress - even without that instant “this is the one” moment. Plus, they recommended an amazing seamstress!

I had an amazing time at the dress shop. I highly recommend to any bride looking at dress shops to go here. Christy was absolutely amazing and made my experience perfect. I'm a bigger bride and didn't have any issues finding dresses to try on or that I loved. They only pulled in my budget and catered the dresses to what I liked. 10/10 recommend.

The best bridal shop!

I had the best time shopping for my dress at The Dress Shop in Howell! This was the first shop I went to and working with Christy was amazing. She was so helpful and knowledgable. She also was so good at sharing the information in a way/at a time when it helped the most rather than just overwhelming me with everything all at once. She really helped me as I tried to figure out what I wanted in a dress. I didn't end up finding my dress here at my first visit and Christy actually followed up with me to see if there was anything else she could help with a week or so after my first appt. I shared that I was struggling to find the right dress for me as I had a style in mind that I couldn't really find at any nearby stores. She went above and beyond and searched for dresses she could get through the loaner program and found my dream dress! She had it shipped to the store and worked with me to find a time to come in and try it on and it was perfect! I am so in love with my dress and really cannot say enough good things about The Dress Shop, especially Christy! All of their dresses are so beautiful and everyone who works there is so thoughtful and they really care about helping you finding your perfect dress!

The most beautiful I have ever felt

The dress shop made my experience awesome! I do not live in Michigan, but all of my family and my husband's does so I flew to MI for the holidays and decided to go shopping while there since it was easier for me to come to all of my family. I knew I wanted to find a dress that day and there and they made it happen. We were getting married in FL where we lived so that was another thing to consider. I had a long list of must have and must nots. The dress I selected was from their collection and I loved that I knew no one in FL would have this dress. I loved my dress and veil, I felt so beautiful :)

Out of this World

I can't say enough good things about my experience at TDS. It was an amazing experience. Carol and the consultant working with her (I unfortunately can't remember her name) were both amazing! They really took the time to listen to me and my entourage and brought amazing recommendations after we did our initial shopping. They were so patient as I kept re-trying dresses to find THE dress. There was no pressure to find THE dress, even though I had told them I intended to find it that day and was getting close to crunch time for ordering lead time. I am a plus size bride, so I was very nervous to go dress shopping. Carol especially was wonderful at making sure that I felt confident and comfortable. It was definitely an empowering experience and I am so excited to get and wear my dress. We were expecting to have to exceed the budget, but the consultants were very conscious of our budget including potential alteration costs when bringing dress options. They even called to cancel my afternoon appointment at another salon for me, so I didn't have to have the awkward conversation myself.

This was my first stop in my wedding dress search and ended up being my only! Jessica K. was my bridal stylist and I have nothing but good things to say about her. She was simply amazing! I was overwhelmed and anxious, as finding THE dress is such an important part of the wedding. The Best Experience!

This was my first stop in my dress shopping journey and it was beyond an amazing experience. I had Jessica K. as my bridal stylist and she was fabulous! I was very overwhelmed trying on all various styles and fits, Jessica asked great questions to narrow down exactly what I liked and didn’t like and we went from there. I found a dress I loved but being that this was the first place I wasn’t quite ready to say “yes”. We left without a dress but with an experience that set the bar high (and that no other bridal store matched). Fast forward to 2 weeks later and I made a follow up appointment with Jessica. After my other experiences, I couldn’t imagine buying my dress anywhere else—as we were going through dresses I was very impressed that she remembered all the dresses I tried on previously. Her personality is so positive, upbeat, honest and she was extremely mindful of my budget. I ultimately said “yes” to the original dress and I couldn’t be happier! Jessica made myself, my MOH and my family feel so comfortable and so included throughout the entire process without shying away from my personal thoughts and opinions. The dresses that are at the Dress Shop are beyond gorgeous and the options were endless. I cannot recommend Jessica enough she truly made our experience!

Beautiful Gowns!

I would recommend the Dress Shop to anyone looking to buy the wedding dress of their dreams! Not only was the shop clean and well-organized (having the dresses sorted by style with pictures of the dress on its bag was so helpful!), but it was stocked with beautiful, well-made dresses at very reasonable prices. Nadeisy went out of her way to make my party and me feel welcome and cared for. She really listened to what I had to say, was extremely knowledgeable about all the dresses, and knew exactly how to help me find "the dress". She even took the time to see me later in the day when I came back to try-on my favorite dress again and ultimately "say yes to the dress!" I can't say thank you enough to Nadeisy and the rest of the staff there for all they did to make such an important day so positive!

Amazing Experience!

This bridal shop was amazing to work with! They give everyone disposable slippers to wear during the appointment to keep the store nice and clean, offered champagne to us while looking at all the dresses on the floor, and really ensured that they wanted me to pick my dream dress, even if that meant it wasn’t from them. My consultant was Lilly and she was so sweet, comforting, and helpful. I have some narrowing down to do between a dress from here and two from another store, but I couldn’t have asked for a better appointment. I would definitely recommend them!

Fantastic Personalized Service!

I had a fantastic experience at The Dress Shop. They had the best customer service of any shop I visited (and I visited 5). Our consultant, Brittany, was fantastic. She offered us mimosa or champagne right from the beginning. Very honest and willing to help. She made several recommendations and even went digging in the back for more dresses for me to try. Ultimately ended up buying one she brought up from the back on a great sale. We spent a lot longer than expected in the store but the time just flew by. She never rushed us or pressured us at all. Would highly recommend!

After a complete disaster with another bridal shop, Cecilia came to the rescue. I can't say enough about the staff, the quality of dresses and the overall experience. So appreciate that there are still places that understand service and value.

Exactly what you want for such a special day!

This place is amazing. I was super nervous about dress shopping during the Covid-19 outbreak because I wanted to have the traditional day where I could bring my bridesmaid and mom with me to the store. The Dress Shop offered private appointments at a seriously reasonable rate ($150, with $100 going towards the dress, so effectively $50) which allowed me to bring everyone I wanted to AND included snacks and champagne. Karena was an absolute dream to work with and made the day extra special. She was so good at helping me figure out which dress was the right one for me, pulling items I hadn't even considered and then guiding me through the process of narrowing down my top three choices. Definitely worth the drive to Howell!

Absolutely adore this shop!

Everything about the dress shop is amazing from start to finish. I had the best time when I first went to try on dresses and I honestly didn't expect to get a dress that day but the girls there are amazing and they picked out exactly what I was looking for and I got my dream dress from the designer I had always wanted. From there the alterations girls are top notch, I had bought a sample size dress that was quite big on me and they took it all in and it fit like a glove. I would highly recommend making this shop one of the first places you visit for your wedding dress!

My dress shopping experience was absolutely amazing! I actually bought my gown during one of their sample sales- it was a dream style of mine- a Maggie Sottero A-line gown and I got an AMAZING price on it! I also bought my veil and a hair comb accessory and people could not stop talking about how beautiful it all was! I also used their alterations department and they did a fabulous job!! I worked with Jessie, she was the best! She started by offering us mimosas, then giving me and my bridesmaids a handful of colored rings. The Dress Shop was one of the first places I went after getting engaged and being so excited to start planning my wedding. I didn’t think that I was going to find anything, because my sister, mom, and I just went on a lark to quell our excitement. When we arrived, we were so impressed with the level of service that they provided. We were shown to a private room and had a consultant (Cecelia) dedicated to us. She gave me a few rings to go through the shop and put on the hangers to show which dresses I wanted to try. TDS is smaller than somewhere like David’s Bridal, but this is one of those cases where less is definitely more. As I began trying dresses on, Cecelia listened to what I liked and didn’t like about each dress and used that feedback to make suggestions about others. She also picked out accessories and veils to help me visualize everything together. To all of our surprise, I ended up finding THE dress that day (though I was nervous about it being so early, so I didn’t make the final decision until a few months later). The whole process was amazing and I have such great memories of that day! I came in several more times to look at accessories, MOH dresses, and to stop by for the trunk shows and it was worth the 45 minute drive - they were always accommodating even when I hadn't made an appointment. Couldn’t have been happier with TDS.

I went to the Dress Shop even before I set a wedding date to shop at one of their sample sales. This was last summer. It was a sale with discounts on top of already discounted prices! I found the dress without my family with me but it was a great experience. They serve you mimosas while trying on wedding dresses. My consultant was so patient and kind. I found the dress that I couldn't say no to and all the way to one year and 2 months later every guest at the wedding was blown away with how beautiful my gown was. I have no words for how happy I am with the overall look and value of my gown. I went there for alterations as well. The ladies did a beautiful job and while the bustle had many points, it gave the gown and even better look to it and was easy to dance the night away! I think their alterations prices are reasonable as far as getting them done at wedding bridal stores are.

AMMMMMMAZING! I had the perfect wedding dress shopping experience. Customer service was beyond excellent. The selection of wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses and even tuxes were far superior to other stores I have visited. I had a top notch experience with my gown selection and fittings. The gown I found was within my price range and the women helping me made the day very special. The seamstress was able to do all my alterations in two weeks with only an initial appointment and a pick up appointment. She had a lot of work to do and I was impressed.

The initial dress shopping was great; my girls had fun and the salesperson really helped me zero in on what I wanted without making me feel pressured. Throughout ordering, delivery and alterations I never felt rushed, always listened to and respected. I felt beautiful on my wedding day. It wasn't the cheapest (or most expensive either), so probably not the place if you're looking for bargain basement pricing, but I looked at it as a once-in-a-lifetime expense and got exactly what I wanted.

When I started out looking for my dress, I pretty much had it in my head that I was going to buy from David's Bridal. All of my bridesmaids are in a different state and I didn't want to spend a lot of money. It seemed like the easiest, natural pick. I went to David's, and it wasn't a horrible experience by any means, but the word that sums up my feelings there: underwhelmed. Now, I live in Howell and drive by The Dress Shop on at least a weekly basis. I just assumed by the look of the place that it would be far out of my budget. But on a whim, I saw they were having a trunk sale and thought, "What the heck, let's give it a try." And I am SO thankful I did! My consultant was SO incredibly helpful and accommodating. She let my party and I pick out dresses we'd like to try and then offered her opinion respectfully and only when asked for it. Needless to say, I found my perfect dress within my budget and couldn't be happier! I had my "moment" that all us Say Yes to the Dress fans hope for. Thank you, The Dress Shop!

By far one of the best dress shops I went to! Unfortunately I did not find my dress there, but the customer service was outstanding! I was there well over my scheduled appointment time, and the girls there were so helpful in trying to find me my perfect dress!

This was the first place I went dress shopping. I had an awesome experience with my girls! We recieved mimosas and to relax and shop around. Janae was my consultant and she was absolutely amazing! She listened to my likes and dislikes and didn't pressure me at all. I also liked how she took an interest in my wedding and wedding process. Even when I tried on the perfect dress, she could sense I was still hesitant to say yes (as it was my first time trying on dresses) and didn't push me. I went to another bridal shop and compared everything to that last dress at The Dress Shop. I went back that same day and Janae helped me again! That time I had no hesitation and realized that was the dress of my dreams! Everyone on their staff was so helpful and friendly! I'm so happy to get my dress here!

I would recommend the dress shop to anyone! The shop is beautiful, the girls are amazing and the experience is all I could have dreamed of! Maddy was FANTASTIC!!! She pulled a dress for me, and it was the one after only trying on 5 dresses. She was so sweet, comforting and attentive! The mimosas were a perfect start to my morning and were a compliment to the experience of shopping with my mother. The ultimate girls day :)

The Dress Shop was the first and last place I went to look for my dress. From the first moment I walked in, I was greeted with a genuine smile. I had Cecilia's help trying on dresses and she was incredible. The Dress Shop offered such a great experience and I'm so happy I got my dress there. The dress shop was the first place I tried on a wedding dress. This place was beautiful and their dresses were kept very nice. I found my dream wedding dress within an hour thanks to Erica. Up until The Dress Shop, I had horrible experiences dress shopping. I'm a bridal gown 16, so I kept getting paraded around in dresses that were too small, standing on pedestals next to brides that better fit their sample sizes and it was hurting my self esteem. I was sick of searching through rows and rows of dresses trying to guess if the white poof in a garment bag would flatter me. I wanted a better, more intimate experience with a consultant who could help guide me into finding THE dress.

Enter Brianna and The Dress Shop. First, we were running about 30 minutes because of a sleeping baby and snow, and they were so patient. I never felt rushed or like I inconvenienced them. We were brought into a private room where we chatted about my likes/dislikes. I was given pink rings to hang on the dresses I like and from there they would pull the dresses for me (who knew?!). One of the dresses I loved was even on a mannequin and they made sure I was able to try it on (thankfully since that's the gown I chose!).

I dressed in private, and then Brianna would come in and help me pin it to it's best fit, and then we would open the curtains to show my family who came with me. We sipped on champagne, laughed a lot, and I felt like every single dress I tried on was flattering. When I was down to two favorites, they helped me select two unique sets of accessories to try it on and "jazz it up" and that did the trick. I ordered my Moonlight Bridal Gown (a brand I had yet to hear of or try on) that day! I can't wait for it to come in!

Also worth mentioning, about half of the dresses I tried on were half of my budget! I ended up with one at the top, but couldn't believe how beautiful some of the lesser priced gowns were.

I got both me Wedding Dress and Bridal Party Dresses through The Dress Shop. There was a wide variety of selections for both types of dresses. The staff was very professional, friendly and helpful looking and trying on dresses. I would definitely recommend The Dress Shop due to their professionalism, beautiful gowns, pricing and flexibility.

I stumbled upon The Dress Shop after finding the dress of my dreams at another bridal salon, but feeling uneasy about the price the other salon quoted me. I looked online and saw that The Dress Shop had the same dress, so I booked an appt online. It was a Saturday night and low and behold, they were open and available on that following Sunday. The salon is brand new and beautiful inside. The staff was warm and welcoming. They offered us champagne and mimosas...yum! I am very frugile, so spending a lot of money on a wedding dress was freaking me out. There was another salon that also had my dress and quoted me a better price than the first salon and The Dress Shop matched that offer, which made me feel at ease. Overall, The Dress Shop was great.

My wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses were from The Dress Shop. All of the staff was extremely helpful. From making the appointment to ordering and receiving my dress, I have gotten either emails and calls next day.
For my dress appointment, I brought a big group with me. They were able to accommodate the group easily. I was able to pick out dresses that fit my style, and they gave me more to try on that were similar (which unfortunately was not done at some other bridal shops I went to). My dress was slightly over my budget but it was exactly what I described. The dress came in in a few months. During the fitting, I was able to try on tons of veils and headpieces.
For the bridesmaid dress shopping, my bridesmaids found a dress they all loved AND looked fantastic in. It was very easy. They recently have an in house seamstress which has made me love it even more although I haven't had alterations done yet.

Had the best experience I could have imagined with Annette . She was fantastic, did not rush me and was very honest. I did not feel pressured and it was a very personalized experience. The Dress Shop was the first boutique that I visited when I was looking for my wedding dress and it was the only one! I worked with Ashley who was very accommodating of the fact that I had a large group of friends and family with me, including a newborn baby. We were able to have our own private dressing room and I tried on about 15 dresses. I never felt rushed to end the appointment, even though we went over our time slot. Ashley was also very good at discovering what I was looking for and pulling a few dresses that I had not considered! When we returned to look at bridesmaid dresses, I was able to try on the dress that I chose for the rest of my bridal party. This experience was wonderful and I would highly recommend The Dress Shop to brides who are looking for beautiful (and affordable) wedding gowns!

Like so many girls, I've spent countless hours watching Say Yes to the Dress marathons on TLC. I longed for that experience.. so my girls and I packed up and drove to Chicago for me to try on wedding dresses. We had a nice time, and I found my dream dress.. but I wasn't ready to purchase it with such a steep price and pushy sales person.

I came home and started calling around to different bridal salons in Michigan. I found a few who carried the designer of the dress I fell in love with (Sophia Tolli). I knew immediately after speaking with Ashley on the phone that I would be purchasing my dress from The Dress Shop. She was incredibly patient with me (I like to tell myself that I'm not a bridezilla... but let's be honest, we all let a little of that "crazy girl" out when it comes to the important aspects of our big day..) She answered all of my questions without any problem.

I had the chance to put a face with a name this afternoon when I stopped in to get measured for my dress. When Ashley greeted me at the front desk it felt like I was meeting an old friend! She made the process so much fun. Since they didn't have my exact style in stock, she had me try on a couple that were similar after taking my measurements to make sure that we ordered the correct size based on a collaboration of the sizing chart and actual dresses. She walked me through the contract step by step and made sure I understood everything thoroughly. She even took my picture in front of the "I said yes to the dress" sign and posted it on Facebook!

If I would have known that such a professional and beautiful dress shop was in my own back yard, I wouldn't have even bothered going to Chicago. My experience with The Dress Shop was out of this world! I'd definitely recommend it to anyone getting married who lives in Michigan. Amazing experience! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Couldn’t be happier! I said yes to the dress of my dreams last month at The Dress Shop. From the moment I arrived at the store I felt like a priority, beginning with the reserved parking spots. Trying on dresses can be stressful, but The Dress Shop minimized all of that, which allowed me to focus on what was important: finding my dress. The clean, spacious interior filled with comfortable chairs put me and my guests at ease. The mimosas we were able to enjoy from the private dressing rooms, along with numerous other personal touches, all came together to make for a wonderful experience.

I was most grateful for Erica, who was completely focused on me, and my needs. This allowed me to enjoy the experience and have fun. I am from Kalamazoo but I returned to this store in particular, although I could have purchased the same dress at a store near me, because of the hospitality I experienced at this location. The attention to privacy, and hyper-focus on me created an atmosphere of compassion that I was literally willing to go the distance for. All in all, the experience was one I would highly recommend, and I thank Erica and The Dress Shop team for helping me say yes to the dress.

I could not have asked for a more wonderful experience in finding my perfect wedding dress! The shop is stunning, they have a wide variety of styles in dresses and the shop does a great job in creating a very intimate experience for you. Purchasing my wedding dress was something that I was very excited about but I knew that I wasn't set on a specific style. I definitely needed some direction on figuring out what style looked good on my figure and would also give me the emotional appeal and connection that I was looking for. Erica helped me every step of the way and was an AMAZING person to work with. She was extremely patient with me, worked hard to see and accomplish my vision and is the sweetest person in the world. I went to The Dress Shop a couple months ago just to look for a style of wedding dress. I wasn't expecting to find my dress, everyone was super helpful and nice. After trying on a few I ended up finding my dream dress. There was no pressure to buy, and Erica was just as excited as I was when I decided on the dress. Erica was the best at helping out with ideas and making myself along with my family comfortable. They didn't mind my nephew and nieces running around the shop, and let them play with the "dress up" party accessories. They have a great variety of dresses, offer mimosas to enjoy while trying on and have a great atmosphere. I can't wait to get my dress and wear it in May for my wedding!!

I made my appointment at The Dress Shop, and it was the 3rd shop I looked at. I absolutely LOVED this shop!! From the very first step in I felt like I was important and that I mattered. I felt relaxed and comfortable. The other 2 shops I visited prior to coming to The Dress Shop made me feel rushed and just a number or sale. I loved that this shop is so clean, neat and calming. From the moment i walked into The Dress Shop, Erica, was there to help! She was incredible with catering to my every want and need. My entourage enjoyed getting to help pick out dresses and take pictures along the way. The champagne was also an awesome touch! The staff was friendly and so patient with me! The Dress Shop provided an unforgettable bridal experience. The shop is beautiful and the seating area for your family/friends is very nice. They have a nice selection of dresses and let you pick what you want to try on first, then they pull some suggestions for you as well. Ana was absolutely wonderful. She never put any pressure on me, and did not rush me at all. She had a bunch of different accessory options on hand for me to try with the dresses as well. They carry several different designers, and the prices are extremely reasonable. I had no problem finding things to try on that were under budget. When all was said and done I got my dress, veil, beaded belt, earrings, and a necklace for less than my dress budget! I had an amazing bridal moment at The Dress Shop and I would highly recommend it to everyone!

I had such a great experience at The Dress Shop! The ladies here really know how to make you feel really comfortable and welcome. I made a last minute appointment and they were so accommodating. I had my eye on one specific dress going in, but I still tried on several others just in case. All the dresses were very beautiful! They took their time with me and made me feel relaxed. I found my wedding dress at The Dress Shop in Howell on my second try! The girls were able to get me an appointment the week I called which kept the excitement of this store alive to me! When we arrived they asked a few questions about myself and let me go! It was very nice not having them follow me or be pushy like some stores. Once I was ready to try dresses on two girls helped me make them fit right for modeling. When we had tailoring questions some of the staff would come over and compliment items and help to answers questions in their speciality. Once I bought my dress I received a thank you email the next day! They also provide a discount to my mother, my bridesmaids and I until the day of my wedding! I had a great experience at the Dress Shop! I had shopped at several other stores and they just didn't compare. The girls are great and they have so many beautiful dress! More than happy with my dress and the staff! Thanks Nicole for helping me find my dream dress!! I will definitely send friends there for their special day!

Nicole G and the staff here are just amazing! They carry a great, large selection of dresses and are so helpful with trying them on I would definitely recommend the dress shop! Not one person was pushy or made me feel rushed, I had the whole store to myself to be comfortable. I knew I found my dream dress the minute I put it on! Thank you ladies for making this experience care free!

The staff at The Dress Shop is absolutely wonderful! They are so helpful, but they are not pushy by any means. I was a very picky shopper, and they were willing to work with me as much as possible to help me find my dream dress. They would inform me when they were getting more dresses in that were similar to what I was looking for, and honored discounts that I could not find at any other store.
Although they dress I ended up ordering was not at the store to try on, I was able to order it through the shop. I went to about 7 or 8 different shops looking for wedding gowns, and this was by FAR the best location I stopped at. I would 100% recommend The Dress Shop!!

The girls at The Dress Shop were amazing! I have nothing but great things to say about this place. The store itself was clean and welcoming. The service was excellent, all of the girls were so helpful and friendly. They made my parents and I feel right at home. Their dress selection was great. All of the dresses were clean and well taken care of. Erica helped me try on all of my dresses. She was very attentive and took all of my needs into consideration. I ended up finding my dream dress right away. I could not of had a better time finding my wedding dress. Thanks again girls!

I was so impressed with the professionalism and genuine help that we received at The Dress Shop. Unlike some other shops, they weren't pushy at all and seemed to truly have my best interest in mind. I highly recommend them to all brides!

I am a size 12. I went to other bridal shops in the area and their dresses didn't compare to the quality, selection and style that I found at The Dress Shop. I went there on a trunk show day where they showcased Maggie Sottero dresses, because I thought that was the brand I wanted. I chose another designer, Sophia Tolli, which I love! I ended up picking a dress that the sales lady picked out for me based on what dresses I was leaning toward. It was a fit and flare dress and it was perfect! It had the look I wanted, but I could still move in it. In the winter they give you boot covers, to keep the floor and dresses clean. The fitting rooms were large and comfortable. My only complaint is the prices and days and times when alterations appointments are. The alterations and dress cost was a big higher than I would have liked to pay. The only alteration times were when I worked. I work a typical 9a-5p on week days.

This shop is so easy to find! I was originally going to shop for my wedding dress here but had already found my dress earlier that day. They were so flexible to switch to finding my bridesmaids their dresses. Huge selection love love love!

Great experience

Had a great experience at The Dress Shop! I had a large group and TDS was great at accommodating us, champagne and all! The only reason I knocked one star was due to the fact that the dress I tried on was small and had minimal cleavage, and when I ordered and got the dress in my size I had much more cleavage than expected. It would have been good to know where the front and back of the dress would ‘fall’ before I ordered the dress, but otherwise great experience!

I found my dress here, in my size, and on sale. I was so impressed with her service that I brought my step-mom back to go dress shopping for her MOB dress. My first visit was amazing and I have no criticism there. There was champagne, the consultant was able to keep my real mother contained (which is no easy task), all while making sure my ideas and visions for my dress were being met. When I came back with my step-mother for her dress, we had a different consultant who was quiet and didn't really offer much assistance beyond putting dresses back. Had that been my first experience, I may have a different view. However, the selection of dresses is amazing and I would recommend this store to brides in SE Michigan.

Everyone I spoke to at the Dress Shop was so friendly and helpful! When I went in it was my first time shopping and they were not pushy in any way - they even said they like the brides to go home and sleep on it! It was great to feel no pressure. I did end up going back for a Sophia Tolli dress I had loved and even though their prices had gone up, they were awesome enough to give it to me for the original price it had been when I first tried it on! I would recommend the Dress Shop to any bride!

This was the first bridal store I went to to try dresses on for the first time. The store itself is newer so right off the bat I loved the decor and ambiance of the store! Rachel was my consultant and she definitely made me feel the way a bride should feel trying on dresses for the first time. Being offered mimosas while tagging dresses I wanted to try on was a great perk! While I did not end up buying my dress here, I highly recommend the store for the experience, expertise and selection of dresses; and Rachel was very helpful!

Thankfully I found their ad in a bridal magazine. I only wish I went here 1st to have saved myself the trouble & stress. I had soo many favorites at The Dress Shop... I was so happy and relieved to have found what I was looking for.
Ashley was incredible! So helpful and easy to work with!!! She went above and beyond to help me and was so patient.
The service was exceptional!

We had a great shopping experience at this location although we didn't purchase anything. We booked a four hour appointment to look at bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses and mother of the bride dresses. We started with bridal gowns. The consultant took us to our room and asked a few questions then she gave us a tour of the store and allowed us to pick out a few gowns . I find this a bit overwhelming but I think most people would enjoy it. After she got some feedback from me on the gowns I had selected she picked a few more and her picks were spot on! We found a top contender in less than an hour! Next the girls tried on bridesmaid dresses and my mom tried on mother of the bride dresses. They had a nice selection and we found a few good options. The consultant was very knowledgeable about alterations and color options. This was our first shopping trip and there was no pressure from the consultant to make a purchase but it is very likely that we will be back!

Great experience at The Dress Shop

Really wonderful experience at TDS! The shop itself is beautiful, and I really loved that they allowed me to walk through and look at all the dresses and tag the ones that I wanted to try on. My appointment was with Heather, and she was so nice and helpful. I wasn't able to bring any friends or family with me to the appointment, so she not only pulled great dresses for me, but also helped me in and out of them AND helped me take pictures of the ones I liked. Cecelia, the manager, was amazing, and came in towards the end of the appointment to help me narrow down my top contenders. You can tell she really knows her dresses and knows all the right questions to ask to help a bride make these tough decisions. Even though I did not end up purchasing my dress at TDS, I would highly recommend them as a great place to shop!

Everything you want from a bridal salon!

This shop has everything you want from a bridal gown shopping experience. You're greeted when you walk in and there is always someone to help out nearby. You need to make an appointment but with their text and call features they make it very easy to schedule and/or make changes! They're open to letting you try on your dress when it comes in, even if you drop by! This salon has some of the most beautiful dresses I've ever seen, for decent pricing. As well as some high quality jewelry, sashes, veils, etc. Plus you get mimosas! If you want to have a private dress shopping experience like you "see in the movies" without paying an arm and a leg, this is the place to go!

After shopping at MULTIPLE dress stores and feeling like I was just another "bride", I landed at the dress shop in Howell from a vendor referral. I felt welcome from the moment I arrived! All of the ladies here are super friendly and completely focused on your wants as needs. I received a ton of help on what felt right for me, and ended up finding my dream dress! I shopped here for my bridal gown and bridesmaids gowns (before they moved to the new location). I loved the customer service here! They have little sitting areas for the people you bring and even provide a little bustier for trying on dresses! They didn't have many options for bridesmaids dresses at the time I visited but I purchases my dress from them! I love that they are open on Sundays! I went shopping on a Saturday but my mom wasn't there and so I went back on Sunday with her to show her the dress and purchase it and they were very accommodating! My mom ended up going back to the store to get my veil and jewelry we liked. My dress came in VERY quickly (this is dependent on the designer though) and it was a bit of an issue because they wanted us to pick it up ASAP. I live out of town and my mom was on vacation at the time. They definitely were rushing us to pick it up within the week and did allow us a few extra days but we felt very rushed. Overall, I felt like this place had wonderful customer service and I really enjoyed my dress shopping experience with them! I had 2 bridesmaids that were running 15 minutes late and they didn't rush us at all either!

This place is wonderful. The women working their truely want you to be happy with your choice and do not push you one bit! I found my outside wedding gown and a beautiful cathedral gown for my wedding. They offer you champagne and mimosas when you enter and make this day about you. The shop is intimate so you have to make an appointment ahead of time.

Good Experience

This place was recommended to me by multiple people. I had fun at this place but was not impress with the selection. They barely had any strapless dresses. The dresses were beautiful there but more out of my price range. This place reminded me of a place that wanted to be in New York. Overall good experience. If you are willing to spend more money than this is your place.

Good for dress styles but not honest about alterations

I got my wedding dress here, and I got a beautiful gown. I was pleased with the staff who helped me select my dress and how professional they were. They also gave me some recommendations on accessories that make my dress that much more beautiful. In addition, I was impressed with how they handled re-scheduling appointments that had to be cancelled during the stay at home order in Michigan. The staff worked extra hours and put in a lot of overtime hours to get things done.

The only thing I am disappointed in is that when I inquired about the cost of alterations when I purchased my gown, the staff told me to allot approximately 1/3 of the cost of my dress for alterations. Based on consulting with other brides and doing my research, that estimate seemed typical and fair. However, I had to pay significantly more than than what I was told. I understand that small businesses have been hit hard due to being closed for 3 months during the stay at home order in Michigan. Therefore, I expected the prices to increase slightly. However, I wasn't prepared to pay as much as I did. I think the staff needs to be honest with their brides on the cost of alterations up front, especially since you have to book your alterations with them when you buy your dress to ensure availability. It's only fair to the brides, especially those who have been hit hard this wedding season with many extra expenses because of COVID-19.

They didn't seem to care much after we made the final payment. When I picked up my dress, the gal that I had been working with made it seem like getting alterations done at their store would be easy and stress-free. That was far from the truth. I was under the impression (wrongfully or not) that they would be calling me to set up an alterations appointment. When I hadn't hear from them and we were getting down a little over a month away from the big day I called them to set up the appointment. It wasn't until I REACHED OUT TO THEM that they informed me they no longer had a seamstress on staff. Not only that, but they didn't have a SINGLE recommendation as to where I should go to take my all lace wedding gown. And when I brought up the fact that I felt I had been mislead by my consultant, the manager told me that "if you read your contract is states right there that alterations at The Dress Shop cannot be guaranteed". I feel as though they really dropped the ball as far as good customer service is concerned, which is very important for me. I can't imagine that a wedding dress store in January in Michigan has a ton of brides on their books for purchased wedding gowns, I may be wrong but a little courtesy would've been nice when your seamstress left you initially. So I feel like they dropped the ball conveniently after they had already been paid in full. Quality customer service goes along way, I won't be recommending them to any of my friends that will be getting married in the future.

Where to begin, we when to The Dress Shop Howell in support of a local business and we had stopped in the past for a tour of the shop and everyone seemed super helpful and professional. The day my daughter, the bride purchased her gown when fairly smooth and the sales girl seem to know her stuff. The only thing was after the purchase she didn’t get the is this your dress treatment I saw other getting. But my daughter does always like all that extra attention so I let it go. Then her two her bridesmaids went together to purchase their dresses (they are her future sister-in-laws). The two girls are very different in size and shape but have similar names (they are in fact sister-in-laws). Anyway fast forward the dresses are ordered, well in advance because we have all been properly warned about how long it will take to get the dresses. The dresses come and the shop order the wrong dress for the wrong girl. They all are wear different styles in the same color and fabric. They would have switched but one girl is pregnant and need that particular style. Plus they should get the dress the ordered, right! Well the shop didn’t take responsibility the the mixup they blamed it on they designer. Then they promised to have a manager call the girls and talk to they never did. Actually the girls only received information if they called and then they got the run around pretty must up to the day that the new dresses came in. It took months for the girls to get this straightened out there was no customer support the ordeal, in the they did manage finally to get a discount out of them. But one the girls tried on the new dress and realized that her dress had still been order in a size smaller then she asked for. She can fit in it but it’s tight in the chest. The response of the sales person was you can just go with out a bra an it will be fine. She was so frustrated she just left with the dress. Don’t shop here, go anywhere else.
