Where to even begin? I saw Bobby in action at a previous wedding (a year before even getting engaged) and knew he was THE ONE. I wanted to work with him so badly that while we were booking our venue, I was texting him on the side to first confirm he was available that date!
Our engagement photos were beyond stunning, but more importantly, Bobby made it FUN. Both my husband and I are incredibly nervous and awkward when cameras come out, so we weren’t exactly looking forward to our session. But Bobby instantly put us at ease and reminded us to just be ourselves and the love would show. He’d lead us into the shots and capture the most beautiful candids along the way. We legit fell in love all over again during our engagement shoot, and the results were amazing.
On our wedding day itself, same story. Bobby did a casual prep session leading up to the wedding so he knew what was/wasn’t important to us going into it, and remembered things that I had totally forgotten about. We had a blast and the photos are unreal.
The next day my mom told me that her “favorite person at the wedding was Bobby” (haha thanks mom) and after getting photos and videos back my dad hit the group chat with “Bobby and video guy are the best talent I have seen. What a treasure.”
If he’s available during your date, don’t give it a second thought. Consider yourself lucky and lock him down. -

He captured everything. From the tiny details, to the big emotional moments, the laughter, the tears, and all the chaos in between! Looking through our gallery feels like reliving the day over and over again, and the way he was able to tell our story through his lens is nothing short of incredible.

We cannot recommend Bobby enough! We were fortunate to work with him as our wedding photographer (he did our engagement photos too) and he was freakin amazing through and through. I cannot even express how grateful I am for Bobby. From our engagement photos to the wedding, it was so smooth and so chill. It felt like hanging out with an old friend who just happened to also take INCREDIBLE pictures. You will receive the kind of pictures you thought only existed in museums. He captures love and light in ways that are never forced and always absolutely gorgeous. If you want standard posed pictures, Bobby is not your guy! If you want moments captured naturally by one of the most genuine people, Bobby is the man! He shot our engagement session and introduced some creative ideas—like a beach bonfire—that made for an amazing experience, and the photos turned out unreal! When he recently shot our wedding, my husband and I were surprised by how few pictures we felt we had

Amazing experience with a photographer that put us immediately at ease!
Bobby was a preferred vendor for our venue (Sequoia Retreat Center), and we contacted him for our wedding photos. As part of that, Bobby included an engagement photo shoot, and we met him in the redwoods near the beach north of Santa Cruz.
Bobby was absolutely amazing to work with. He made shooting the photographs for our engagement shoot and our wedding a fun time, not at all a chore or a stressful situation. Instead, we were immediately put at ease by Bobby’s fun attitude and eye for catching great pictures with a minimum of fuss. He got us the engagement photos very quickly and they were fantastic. The wedding went similarly – he was on site and ready, caught a bunch of good shots of us before, during, and after the ceremony, attended to all of the set photos we wanted quickly, and was able to get a bunch of photos of all the guests and venue. The day went extremely easily and a lot of that was due to Bobby. We recommend him equivocally for anyone wanting a fantastic wedding photographer. Thanks Bobby!!

Bobby was a pleasure to work with throughout our engagement and wedding. Bobby’s playful attitude and contagious positivity makes every photo shoot full of smiles and laughter. He helped us throughout the process with planning logistics when we asked for advice, yet was extremely open to our ideas when we had a vision for particular shots. Bobby didn’t flinch when last minute changes during our wedding day were made. We threw him blindly into many situations, and he captured them beautifully. It truly felt like he wanted to capture the moments we were most interested in. And he somehow did it singlehandedly, running around all day to be in just the right places without us even noticing.
Bobby is someone who makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera and gives just enough direction for a great shot that does not feel stiff or posed. And he’s always down for the adventure—scaling rocks and wading through water to capture the best angle and lighting.
Oh and did we mention his eye for light? Even with our wedding being full of difficult lighting situations for photos (which another photographer we talked to made us feel uncomfortable about, saying we wouldn’t get good pictures at our chosen venues), between dappled lighting under trees, bright reflections on the beach, and a mixture of cloudy/bright direct light/back light/dark tent at the reception venue, Bobby found a way to capture each setting beautifully, each with their own different quality of light. The color and lighting he is able to capture is stunning; bright, saturated, moody and always artistically framed—not the typical washed out wedding photos you too often see. We would love to say we would hire Bobby at our next wedding, but the best we can do is give him 5/5 stars and tell you to hire him for yours! -

Bobby is absolutely the best! We chose him as our photographer for our wedding and engagement photos. He did a fantastic job. His dramatic style and play on lighting was exactly what we were looking for. We did an engagement shoot in Big Sur and had such a fun day with him. He really put us at ease. A great photographer is able to create a relaxed and comfortable environment for their subjects, and Bobby does just that! When we got our photos back, we were blown away. They were so beautiful. One of our goals was to have some truly epic photos, and we got them. We were so excited to later get our redwood forest wedding photos and again, Bobby did not disappoint. We can't recommend Bobby enough. From start to finish we not only trusted him as our wedding photographer but we had tons of fun along the way. He has such a good eye for setting up unique shots, especially in beautiful scenery and will bring out authentic moments. Nothing corny or too posed. We did our engagement shoot along the cliffs of Big Sur and had our wedding in the redwoods and Bobby's photos are drop dead gorgeous, we serious would have been happy with just 25-50 incredible photos but we got over 1000. He provided solid advice and guidance and lots of laughs. This guy will do handstands or hang off the side of a cliff to get the perfect shot. He's easy to get along with, our guests loved him, and by the end of it we felt like friends. His prices were also extremely affordable in comparison to others, and his value is top knotch. -

Best Photographer We Could Have Ever Asked For
There is a reason Bobby is listed as one of the best reviewed on Wedding Wire, The Knot, and wherever else he has stellar reviews on. He is, without a doubt, the best photographer we could have ever dreamed of hiring. Not only is his eye incredible, he is one of the coolest humans on this planet. My husband and I knew from our first phone call with Bobby that he was who we wanted to share this experience with, from engagements photos to the wedding itself. He made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera immediately, and he just lets you do your thing and brings out the best in you. Photographing with Bobby was the most fun we could have ever had.
All of our guests at the wedding raved about how cool, calm, and collected Bobby was and were stunned even more once they saw the photos he took of the day. His work is like an editorial from a magazine! You can tell that he really loves what he does for work, and you feel like you are his only client when he is working with you. He even photographed our 200 person wedding by himself and he never once looked tired or worn out!

As owners of Brothers Ranch, a tropical garden wedding venue, we knew he would be able to capture not only us and our guests, but also do justice the the landscape in the background. My husband and I do not like being in front of the camera. Well, we don't like being in front of the camera for boring, posed, stuffy, forced photos. And that's why we hired Bobby. He is super personable and made us feel at ease and natural in front of the camera. He quickly got our vibe and leaned into it. Very intuitive and talented - his photos convey this great harmony of lighting, composition, storytelling, and emotion. And we love that he's into candid shots because we really didn't want to be stopped all the time for posed photos. We didn't even know Bobby was there most of the time - it was perfect. Bobby is AMAZING!
My husband and I hired Bobby to take our photos for our elopement that we planned in less than a week. I happened to find him on Instagram last minute. His communication from the start was great! He checked in with me to finalize details, making sure he knew what we wanted. When we met Bobby on our wedding day, he was extremely friendly and had such a fun but calm demeanor. We took photos at the chapel we got married in and then at Pebble Beach afterward. Bobby went ABOVE & BEYOND and took so much time with us. Our photos are absolutely amazing-we get comments all the time about them.

Cool, calm, & natural
What an epic experience! Bobby made us feel comfortable to be ourselves and captured genuine memories of our proposal. I was hesitant to do our engagement photos and the proposal together. However, Bobby reacted quickly in order to achieve many looks, moods, and special moments. Highly recommend for epic photos that are outside of the box. The styling is far superior in comparison to all the other cookie cutter photographers. Would recommend! -

We had to change our plans a couple times due to the global pandemic and our timeline gave us 2 weeks to find a photographer. I reached out to Bobby and he replied promptly saying he was available for our date. We spoke with Bobby on the phone a week before to go over the event and our expectations, he was very flexible and easy to talk to. We had a small gathering of friends and family and Bobby captured the day perfectly! All our friends and family love the photos and so do we! We knew right off the bat that Bobby was going to be the best photographer for our wedding. As soon as you talk to him on the phone you can tell just how easy going and hilarious he is, and that is made EVEN more clear when you meet him in person. His photography speaks for itself with how incredibly beautiful his photos are. Each one looks like it was pulled from a magazine. The weekend we wanted to take our engagement photos ended up being a huge storm in Santa Cruz but Bobby picked the gap in the storm to try to get our photos in, and they turned out absolutely incredible. Having him as our wedding photographer was like having an old friend at our wedding. I cannot even express in words what a huge difference it makes to have such an amazing photographer that you vibe with for your wedding, and it makes the photos look so natural. The wedding day is already stressful enough and not having to worry about the photographer or the photos was such a blessing. We prioritized our wedding photos and I am so glad that we did. Having an incredible experience with Bobby and now having all of the amazing photos to remember that day is truly priceless. If you are on the fence at all please do it, I promise you will not regret it. We definitely did not. We will be going to Bobby for all of our future photography needs for the years to come. -

Excellent, relaxed photographer
Bobby did a great job photographing our backyard elopement. We had to postpone the engagement session a few times (for weather and Covid related reasons) and he was super flexible and laid back about the changes, which we really appreciated. We were so glad we did the engagement session since we got a sense of his style and some amazing photos. The photos of our wedding were wonderful, despite somewhat harsh lighting in our backyard, and he did a great job capturing candid moments of our small family gathering. -

We had planned a May 30th wedding and changed it to a small beach ceremony June 1st due to Covid. Bobby was so supportive and easygoing about the change of date and location and really made us feel comfortable. He took beautiful photos of the ceremony, nice family photos, and then went with my husband and me to another beach setting for more photos of the two of us which turned out amazing! Amazing, amazing, amazing!!!
Bobby was wonderful from the get-go, right from when we asked for a quotation for a pre-wedding shoot + wedding/reception shoot. He gave us sound advice to separate the 2 shoots, provided us with a bunch of ideas, sample photos, and reference points so that we could pick the kind of venue/vibe we liked best for our pre-wedding/elopement shoot, then brought us to a gorgeous stretch of untouched beach during sunset for it. Being somewhat awkward individuals, Bobby made us feel so comfortable throughout the shoot with minimal directing, and captured so many beautiful moments of us. Ditto for our actual wedding shoot a couple weeks after at La Playa Carmel - He was professional, so friendly, and took so many candid shots that we absolutely LOVED. Bobby killed it for us and we're so grateful to have found him. If there's one thing you need to do for your special day(s), you need to hire Bobby as your photographer!! -

Bobby was amazing to work with from the very start! We were referred by a friend and after taking a look at his portfolio, Bobby became our first choice.
I was blown away by how he communicated through email, it was easy to get a feel for what kind of person he is and what it would be like to work with him. Walking through the contract and communicating was easy, Bobby's enthusiasm is infectious.
We did an engagement shoot and it totally blew out minds! Bobby's easy going attitude put us at ease and we ended up having a lot of fun, not to mention the photos were amazing. We knew then that we definitely hired the right person to shoot our wedding.
Our wedding photos turned out incredible! Bobby really captured the important moments but also caught a lot of candid moments as well. 100% would hire Bobby again for any special occasion.

The perfect photographer!
I don't even know where to start when it comes to Bobby. Exceptionally flexible and great communication skills, but with the most amazing artistry! We booked an engagement shoot with our wedding package which really helped our comfort level as camera shy people. The results were breathtaking and received in a very timely manner! Bobby has an eye for romance and finding the beauty in all things. I am so, so proud of the images we have and credit them to Bobby completely. It's hard to believe it's us in the photos!
Fast forward 6 months later to our daytime wedding. While getting ready, Bobby was behind the camera and we held meaningful conversation about relationships and the meaning of true partnership and love. It really helped relax me and instilled confidence. Bobby is just so easy to talk to and is able to work with SO many different personality types!
When we received our images, they were exactly how I remembered the day - everything was captured so perfectly. Our focus was on our community of friends and family and there is so much genuine happiness, magic and human interaction to be seen. I cried! Our collection of pictures tells a story and we get so many compliments on the pictures. I need a bigger apartment to put every single print on my walls!
I implore anyone considering him to view his portfolio - it will arouse emotions, bring a smile, and take your breath away as well. I couldn't be happier and I don't think I would've been as excited with any other photographer.
You simply can't re-take wedding pictures and it would be such a shame to get pictures that just look like everyone else's. I hope to hire Bobby again for any other life events. Even if I'm just adopting a cat, Bobby will be hearing from me! -

Bobby is the best!!
I am extremely happy to have found Bobby for our engagement and wedding photos. I did a lot of research trying to find the right artist to capture our wedding. One of my most important parts of the “wedding wish list” was having amazing photos and I couldn’t be more happy with the results. I love his artistic style and his personality. We hired Bobby as our photographer for our wedding this October (2019) in the Santa Cruz mountains. From the first few emails we exchanged back in Feb he's immediately felt like a friend, not only easy but delightful to communicate and work with. We had our engagement shoot with him in May (I highly recommend doing this if you're feeling at all awkward about being photographed like my fiancee and I were, put us right at ease) and it was just the best experience-- totally fun and a great bonding moment for my fiancee and me. I went into the engagement shoot feeling that as long as it broke the ice for us and we got 1 or 2 usable pictures it would be a success. The outcome was 100 times better than my expectations. It's been hard to choose which engagement pictures to use for all our wedding invites/materials and associated events because there are so many gorgeous shots to choose from. Neither of us are exactly fitness models, but he made us look awesome! I feel really really lucky we found someone this talented and affordable for our wedding day (honestly I think Bobby is so good he could charge more than he does). Plus, besides your fiancee you're going to spend the most time on your wedding day with your photographer--you should feel completely comfortable around them. Bobby is just so easy going and lovely, I think almost everyone would find him as relaxing to be around as we did. He's a photographer who both knows how to fade into the background when needed, and can give you a laugh at other moments when you're hanging out. I don't write many reviews, but this one I had to write! He's the best. Book him! :) -

Best photographer ever!
We are so grateful for Bobby and him photographing our wedding. He responded quickly and was very professional. He was so much fun to work with and made everyone feel relaxed and at ease. My husband and I never had our pictures taken before and Bobby made us feel like naturals. He captured our big day in such a beautiful way. Exceptional experience with Bobby

We decided to have our wedding at my family property and I’ve never seen it in the way he was able to capture it. He captured the true beauty of the moment and the property. We love Bobby!
I'm so happy we went with Bobby for our engagement and wedding. The photography was very important to me, and I was a little apprehensive because he didnt have as many reviews as the other photographers in my budget and his prices seemed too good to be true. If you're mulling that over like I was, take the leap! He is SO talented, easy to talk to and work with, and extremely flexible. (He found us a new location for the engagement shoot when the planned one fell through unexpectedly, and he found a second shooter without a problem when I asked for one a few weeks before the wedding.) He made an awkward couple like us look good and his photo editing took it to the next level. -

Carolina Sent on 01/18/2018I was a little bit concerned when I first contacted Bobby to be the photographer of our wedding. I had a friend of a friend recommend him, and what I had seen from his Instagram account.
I met with him few moments before our wedding ceremony at the beach and from the first click of his camera, I KNEW he was everything I wanted and expected from the photographer of our special day: he's calm, fun and extremely professional with some amazing ideas! I wanted a jumping picture and usually I get tired of it since I have to jump 20 times to get a decent picture, but he captured it on the very first jump and the result is speechless!! His photography skills continued to amaze me. We had 2 other photo shootswith him: skateboarding and surfing! He captured it so naturally and easy (even when Josh was skateboarding right above me) that is super fun to pose (and no pose) because he is always on top of every detail.
He became a friend and to be honest he's the name I think as a photographer for all important moments of our life: whenever our family grow, for example, he'll be the one to capture and make all the special moments unforgettable and forever register!

When Bobby tells you he "knows a spot," trust him. You may go off-trail up a mountain in your heels & dress, or to a remote beach, but your pics will be so beautiful.
Out pictures were turned around fast and efficiently too! I loved being able to see my wedding pics so soon. -

Absolutely amazing and everything we could have ever hoped for!! We found Bobby through The Knot and couldn’t be more grateful to have met and worked with him! We booked Bobby for our engagement shoot and wedding day. I even booked him for a bridal boudoir shoot to surprise my husband with. Not only is he incredibly talented, but he made us feel confident and comfortable throughout all of our shoots. Our engagement, boudoir, and wedding photos came out better than we expected and made our jaws hit the floor!
