Charming and beautiful, yet great value

Dallidet Adobe & Gardens was the most perfect charming location for our early April wedding! Unlike most wedding venues, you can find that pricing here is very transparent and realistic. Working with Stacey during the booking process was a breeze. She's incredibly kind, helpful, and went the extra mile to answer all our questions (even sending videos since we're not local). We felt so comfortable and reassured throughout the entire process. And the venue itself? Absolutely stunning! The gardens were in full bloom, and our ceremony at the Rose Garden under the wisteria arch was magical. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the charming grounds, and you can tell the staff takes immense pride in their work. Plus, the bridal suite was such a beautiful, naturally lit spot for photos. We couldn't be happier. Thank you, Stacey and team!

Karen, the garden director, is so sweet and helpful. She answered my e-mails within about a day. She even helped with some of our last minute changes and was an absolute lifesaver. (Thanks Karen!)

The long tables, large round tables, cocktail tables, chairs, speakers and even cute "bridal barn" are included with rental cost. The bridal barn is a cabana just the perfect size for a small wedding parting to change in.

The garden was lush and green, and absolutely gorgeous in our photos. Table runners & centerpieces were the only decorations needed. We had a Sunday wedding and it was such a perfect, less expensive option for our small, intimate wedding.

We had our wedding at the Dallidet in September and are so glad we did! It's such a gem in downtown San Luis Obispo- so many locals haven't even heard of it. The house itself is chock full of artifacts and history, then there are the grounds with separate patios and even a cute bridal barn to get ready in. In September the gardens are so lush and lovely with just a touch of fall color.

Karen, the event manager is so friendly and is really willing to go above and beyond to help make your day a success. She met with us several times so we could look through the venue or ask questions. I also really like that the rental fee goes back to the historical society

Our wedding was so memorable to many of our guests- both we and they were so pleased with how everything came together. It was almost magical.

Made for an unforgettable evening. Takes you to another space and time. Gorgeous garden with breathtaking scenery. Karen the event coordinator form the Dallidet made sure we had every thing set into place to make sure every thing went smoothly. My honey and I celebrated 10 years of marriage with and anniversary party at The Dallidet Adobe and Gardens. Five stars in all categories! I would recommend to any one.

Everything was perfect! The setting could not have been better. All the pictures turned out great and so many great options of picture locations. Karen was easy to communicate with and very helpful in helping me with my special request. Loved having the bridal barn and an all around vintage time at the wedding. Also was happy that money spent on the venue goes back to the history center of slo. Highly recommend this venue.

This was an amazing, yet affordable location for our wedding. It was small, but the garden is so beautiful. They had some limitations on sound, but they were no problem for our acoustic trio. My wife and I really enjoyed having our wedding here.

If you want to offer your guests a unique experience in SLO, have your wedding at The Dallidet Adobe. It's downtown, a historical site, home of the first commercial winery in the County, and you can have the adobe museum open for tours for your guests during your event. It's incredibly affordable for a wedding venue in this area ($2900) and gorgeous. You'll save on decorating because the gardens surround you and are very beautifully maintained. We simply did orchids from Trader Joe's on our dining tables, and it was fabulous. This site includes all of the dining tables, chairs, cocktail tables, free parking for guests, a stage, a dance floor, kitchen (no stove or oven), etc. The staff is flexible with vendors you choose too. The biggest restrictions are that your DJ has to use the Dallidet sound system (city noise ordinance laws), your guest list is capped at 150, and you must be out of the site by 9:00 pm. None of these were a problem for us. My husband and I have been in SLO for three years and plan on staying here. At Dallidet, we were so happy to have the ability to provide a true reflection of our town for guests and share why we love SLO.

Absolutely phenomenal- couldn't have asked for anything more. Karen from the Dallidet, Brooke, Popolo Catering, Kramer Events, Marshall Gardens, Inktree Photography worked seamlessly!!!!! Props to everyone! I highly recommend this location for any DIY bride-to-be! It's truly a hidden gem of the central coast.

Best day of my life! From start (first checked out the venue in January of 2012) to finish (October 27...the big day!) everything about the Dallidet was a dream.

The gardens/Adobe are an amazing backdrop for a wedding. They are so lush and seem so private, it's hard to believe that the Dallidet is just a few blocks from downtown SLO. Every time I visited the venue leading up to the big day, something new was in bloom. We were able to keep our decorations minimal, we just played up the natural decor. There are so many little nooks and useable spaces, it was lots of fun for our guests to explore. You can arrange to have tours of the Adobe given, our history buff friends and family members really got a kick out of that.

There are three larger spaces that could be used for ceremony/reception/bar area and countless small spaces for exploration and relaxation. There is a kitchen prep space for the caterer and two nice bathrooms. The site has lots of tables (of all different sizes and shapes) and chairs that are included in the rental.

The event coordinator for the Dallidet, Richard, was very responsive to all of my questions and concerns. There were some days when I was sending him multiple emails, as I thought of new questions. He was always quick and friendly with his responses. He was willing to meet a bunch times with me and the caterers to troubleshoot and try things out. The day-of, he helped the caterers and my day-of coordinator to keep things on schedule and running smoothly.

I can not recommend the Dallidet enough!

We searched for venues and as soon as we saw this one we felt it immediately in our hearts that this was it. We couldn't have been more right. It was the beautiful afternoon wedding you dream of. The event manager Richard was everything you could ask for, responsive and committed to the perfect day. The site and service was exemplary, the compliments numerous.

Seriously, brides. This is the place! The Dallidet is the dream wedding location. The price is right, it has tons of free parking and the history center lets you bring in all your own alcohol and food (no caterer!). That alone would have sold us on it but then there's its breathtakingly beautiful setting. Seriously, every single guest said how perfect it was and complimented us on "our find." Love it!! Little kids had room to run around and play hide-and-seek while the grownups had little nooks too. On the logistical side, the venue comes with tables and chairs (score!) and even some super chic barnwood buffet tables that we didn't even need tablecloths for. The day-of coordinator, Rachael, tops it off as is the sweetest person with the best ideas. Can't say enough good things about this gem of a venue.

The Dallidet Adobe and Gardens is a historical landmark located in the beautiful downtown San Luis Obispo, CA ( the city that Oprah Winfrey said is the happiest city in the US). It is run by the History Center in San Luis Obispo. It is located within walking distance of downtown and is BEAUTIFUL! They provide tables and chairs and you can get married there and have the reception there. Everyone still talks about my wedding venue and I got married 8 months ago. (may 14, 2011) I would not have changed anything about the venue. Also, the coordinator they provide is GREAT!

This is a beautiful venue tucked away yet conveniently located in San Luis Obispo. We had a gorgeous wedding here with minimal decorations needed due to the abundant plants and trees throughout the property. The staff was very helpful and responsive during the planning process. They also give you the opportunity to commemorate your special day with a tile they put up on the garden wall. We look forward to coming back to this site in the future to see our tile and remember what a great day we had.

We got married at the Dallidet in June, and it was amazing! We could not have picked a more perfect venue. It's like a secret garden tucked away in downtown SLO! The pictures came out absolutely gorgeous, and everyone told us it was one of the most beautiful weddings they'd ever seen!

Since it's a historical landmark, you can't have open flames (candles, etc) and you can't throw rice or flower petals or anything, but honestly everything was still perfect and the rules make perfect sense. This place is a total bargain for what it is, because you get tables and chairs included (we rented chairs anyway because theirs aren't super pretty), a bridal tent, a kitchen/depot area, and you get the entire venue to use, which has three separate areas (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, or whatever you want!).

I can't say enough good things about this venue. It has a really intimate vibe, looks absolutely gorgeous, the price is great, and Karen Petersen was a total sweetheart and was wonderful to work with. Our day was absolutely picture perfect and I highly highly recommend it! Definitely check this place out!!

Dallidet Adobe and Gardens was the perfect setting for a casual college graduation celebration. The weather was perfect on the day of our party - a wonderfully warm afternoon to enjoy in the shade on the Avocado Patio. Guests seemed to really enjoy the flower-lined paths and outdoor atmosphere. The Dallidet staff were very accommodating and helpful and responded quickly when we had questions.

How can you go wrong getting married in a "Secret Garden"? This place is so beautiful, and our wedding was so beautiful because it was held here. I am so grateful that we found the location and that they had availability when we wanted it!

The venue has everything you need: space for the ceremony, cocktails, lingering, setup, bridal prep and privacy, nice, clean bathrooms, photos, the reception. It also has it's own tables and chairs, so we didn't need to rent those.

The garden is also set up so that there is a decent amount of shade at the right points in the day, so guests aren't roasting during an outdoor wedding. If anything, guests were a little cool, so we rented (and recommend) heat lamps for the later part of the reception.

Richard Potts is extremely pleasant to work with. A very nice and organized gentleman who shows you right off the bat that you are in good hands.

The four stars for flexibility is only because the venue is a historical landmark, and as such you have to be very respectful of the location and careful not to do anything that might harm it such as use candles, sand, rice, flower petals, etc. The only part of our day that was a little stressful was hoping that our guests were being as respectful as we needed them to be: smoking off site rather than on, taking out anything they took in, etc. This is in no way a reflection of the venue itself: the venue is amazing and they are so great in how they work with you. Rather, it is just an understandable fact of choosing to hold a wedding at a historical site. Fortunately for us, our guests were generally the quieter, relax and sit with a glass of wine types. :) I might not recommend this venue for a more boisterous, party-all-night crowd, but it was perfect for us.

We LOVED the Dallidet Adobe Gardens for our wedding! The site was perfect and the staff member who helped us was friendly and helpful. When the city decided to do some construction in the parking lot ON OUR WEDDING DAY (nearly closing off the water, also), the staff worked hard to work out a deal and ensure our day would not be ruined. They took good care of us!

This venue is absolutely amazing! The trees and flowers are gorgeous and there is plenty of shade so even on a warm day people won't be cooked sitting in their formal cloths. The site manager Karen was very friendly and helpful. She answered all our questions very quickly and was willing to help out when needed. The only issue we had was the time limit. We added an extra hour so we could take photos before the ceremony and make sure everything was set up, but things were still a little rushed. We could only be on site for 8 hours, including set up and clean up, so make sure you have plenty of people to help if you book this venue.

When I first visited the Dallidet Adobe, I knew it would be a wonderful place to get married. The property is made up of several beautiful courtyards that surround a small historic adobe house, and everything is shaded by huge, beautiful trees. We were lucky to book a wedding date that worked for our schedule, and the Historical Society contacts were helpful and easy to work with. Note that there are some restrictions in the contract (no open flames, security required, no confetti/rice throwing) but they all seemed very reasonable for this type of venue. The event fee includes the use of their dining tables and chairs, a sound system, and a location coordinator to assist during the event.

Everything at the Adobe was lovely on the wedding day. The ladies got ready in the comfortable bridal tent, and we staged a small courtyard with couches for the groomsmen. We started the wedding at 3:00, so the light coming through the trees was beautiful, and the guests enjoyed milling around the grounds and taking tours of the interesting adobe house. Although close to downtown SLO, the Adobe felt quiet and secluded, like our own private ranch for a day.

We ended up with about 110 guests at the wedding, and we used a different courtyard for each portion of the day - ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner. Our party comfortably filled those spaces without feeling crowded. Although September is past the blooming season for many of the Adobe garden plants, everything still looked green and lovely. On the weekends you can use the parking lot for an adjoining building, so there was plenty of parking.

I highly recommend the Dallidet Adobe and Gardens as a wedding venue. It's beautiful, private, professionally run, and you'll have the extra satisfaction of knowing that your event fee is helping support a fantastic local landmark.

We had our wedding at the Dallidet this past weekend and it was beautiful! Richard, the Event Coordinator, went above and beyond his duties. He helped us set up the day before and on the day of. The Dallidet is a great place to have a wedding and the setting was so beautiful! The only drawback of the Dallidet is that you have to be all cleaned up by 9, which really means that you must stop the music by 8:30. If they lengthened the time by an hour, it would hands down be the best venue ever!

This location is an absolute hidden treasure in the middle of downtown San Luis. The setting is an outdoor private garden with lush foilage and an assortment of flowers. I couldn't have picked a more lovely venue and the price was fantastic. I highly recommend this spot for a spring or summer wedding.
