I can’t thank The Cupcake Shoppe enough after coming to our rescue after we had to plan a new wedding in a week due the hurricane in Asheville. Victoria immediately reached out and offered to help in any way possible. Our two tier cake was above and beyond what we could have hoped for. It was not only absolutely stunning but tasted amazing as well. I kid you not when I say my family is made up of cake snobs and they wanted more! We had the cinnamon spice and red velvet cake and love that they are regular cupcake flavors we can go back to the shop and get because they were THAT GOOD! Incredible cake, and super professional!
The Cupcake Shoppe made our cutting cake for our wedding- we went with a very standard vanilla funfetti (our favorite), but every flavor we tried was absolutely amazing. They also provided a half dozen gluten free cupcakes that we added on only a month beforehand, which my GF guests said were great! We had tastings with 3 different vendors in the area, the other 2 of which either didn't look as professional as we wanted or the cake was dry. The Cupcake Shoppe was so professional and quick to respond, and absolutely nailed the design we wanted without making us feel bad that we weren't getting a huge wedding cake (as other vendors made us feel). Can't wait for another reason to head back here, whether that's for afternoon sweets or another event. Highly recommend!

A Great Weekend Treat AND Wedding Cakes
I went here a few times for treats and to taste the cupcakes, and man, they were fantastic. I am gluten-free and was able to have a cake I could eat on my wedding day. It was something I knew was important and they provided. My family who had allergies were also able to celebrate which is truly amazing. I cannot recommend them enough if you want gluten free, regular, and vegan cupcakes.

Incredible design of my wedding cake
The Cupcake Shoppe was extremely easy to work with for a custom wedding cake design. They easily accommodated my request for multiple flavors, but even more impressively, the cake itself was stunning. They used fondant 3D flowers all over the cake rather than real flowers, and I truly have never seen anything like it. It was breathtaking, and they did it with very little guidance from myself and my planner. It was beyond my expectations. The whole process with The Cupcake Shoppe was very smooth.

All of our vendor meetings and tastings were during the thick of Covid. Arlen was so sweet and accommodating during our cake tasting. We traveled from Indiana and had to move our cake tasting due to some conflicts we had prior to our travels. Arlen rescheduled us with no problems and when we arrived greeted us with such a friendly face. All of our cupcakes included in the tasting were outstanding, which of course made it that much harder to decide on a flavor. We decided on Strawberry Cake and Vanilla Cake tiers with Strawberry Icing. This was not a flavor we ever would have imagined for our wedding but it was so light and bright for summer (June wedding) we just couldn’t resist! When it came to design, I provided Arlen with a few different Pinterest inspo photos and they created a design that perfectly met my vision (photo attached). We wish The Cupcake Shoppe had a location in Indiana, but we now try to visit every chance we visit family in North Carolina!

We ordered a small gluten free wedding cake (I have Celiac disease and they were knowledgeable and accommodating) and then different flavored cupcakes for our guests. For our wedding desserts we knew we wanted a simple cutting cake and mini cupcakes. The Cupcake Shoppe make everything so easy! We picked up a tasting box with six different flavors and decided on five cupcake flavors and our cake flavor. I emailed over a cake design sample and on wedding day the cake design was a perfect match! The cupcakes were an ideal size and our guests loved the flavor variety. We loved working with The Cupcake Shoppe! We did a tasting with my parents and struggled because everything was amazing. In the end, we picked a three tiered carrot cake. It was so beautiful and everyone enjoyed it. It had perfect layers and delicious buttery icing. But let me just say that we also ordered macaroons, and they were a hit! People loved them. Delicious Cupcakes and a Delightful Experience!
I ordered a mini-cupcake tower with a cake on top for my daughter's bridal shower. Everything was beautiful and delicious! The Pretty in Pink minis were a favorite! The shoppe itself is SO charming! Arlen was wonderful to work with. She was very thorough and made sure she understood my vision. I look forward to ordering from The Cupcake Shoppe again!

The Cupcake Shoppe was truly INCREDIBLE! Arlen was a dream to work with; she was very prompt in responding to my emails and calls - and was always so helpful. I will never forget walking in to our reception and seeing the cake and thinking "Wow! That is EXACTLY what I wanted." And - that was just with how it looked! It tasted amazing - our guests are still raving about the cake (and asking where it was from!) one month after our wedding. I cannot recommend The Cupcake Shoppe enough!

The most artistic (and delicious) groom's cake!
I contacted The Cupcake Shoppe last minute after the original bakery I was using for my groom's cake fell through. Literally 1.5 weeks notice. My husband is a strength and conditioning coach so I wanted not only a delicious cake but something cute that tied into his profession. I sent Arlen my request and ideas and she was so responsive and easy to work with! They have so many different options of cake flavors but we went with the red velvet. The cupcake shoppe delivered our cake to our rehearsal dinner without a hitch and it was an absolute hit! Not only did everyone get to enjoy it at the dinner but we had so much leftover that we were able to freeze it and are still enjoying it now! I absolutely would recommend The Cupcake Shoppe if you want not only a tasty cake but a beautiful work of art!!

Awesome Groomscake!
I used the Cupcake Shoppe Bakery to make a groomscake for our rehearsal dinner. Arlen was great - she helped me work through a couple of different ideas and we ended up doing a Game of Life board to share the various chapters of my life. And the cake looked awesome! Moreover, she was super accommodating when Hurricane Flo decided to visit and altered our wedding plans. Overall, it was a great experience!

So impressed with these guys! My friends contacted me two weeks before their wedding and they hadn't ordered their cake yet. I was recommended to Cupcake Shoppe, sent an email, and got a prompt reply from Arlen that they were available and could definitely do the cake for us! She was great to work with and helped us come up with the perfect cake, which was delicious!!! All the guests were commenting on how wedding cake is usually disappointing, but that this cake was so good! I worked with the Cupcake Shoppe for my husbands grooms cake and they did a FABULOUS job! My husband is a shoe guy and they helped me turn this crazy idea into a reality and exceeded my expectations. I live out of town and they were excellent communicating back and forth through phone and e-mail throughout the design process. I loved working with the Cupcake Shoppe for our wedding! They were honest, professional, kind, and helpful throughout our whole wedding planning process. I have always loved this shop and have bought mini and regular cupcakes for small events since I was in college at Meredith, so using them for our wedding felt so right! I always received a quick response, and they were so understanding of my Type A personality and the need to triple check everything! Our wedding day cutting cake was simple and elegant, as we wanted, and it was DELICIOUS (we did the lemon zinger!) Our cupcakes were perfect and a huge hit! I first discovered The Cupcake Shoppe while exploring Glenwood Avenue one day and when it came time to choose a bakery for my wedding, I knew 100% this was who I was using! Their carrot cake cupcakes are TO DIE FOR, and the cinnamon rolls are absolutely amazing. I ordered two-dozen cupcakes, a dozen cinnamon rolls, and a small 4" "cutting cake" for my wedding, and I received nothing but compliments on how amazing everything tasted. My only regret is that I didn't snag one of the carrot cake cupcakes before my guests ate them all!!!

We had the Cupcake Shoppe provide cupcakes for our wedding (3 different flavors), and they were a huge hit! Before we even booked, they were very responsive and let us come in for a tasting to sample any flavors they had in stock. The cupcakes looked amazing, and were displayed beautifully. Guests were still talking about them for a few days after! The Cupcake Shoppe was very great to work with and super flexible.

For our April 2017 wedding, we are SO thrilled that we chose The Cupcake Shoppe for our wedding cake!! We still can't stop talking about how delicious and gorgeous our cake was, and we wish we had more cake to enjoy a couple weeks later! You simply can't go wrong with The Cupcake Shoppe, and they are incredible in every way. Our cake tasting with them was so fun and tasty, and we were sold the second we tried their cakes - and their icing!! It's truly the best buttercream and icing we've ever had, and we've loved every single bite of cake (and I'd say neither of us were huge cake people before we tried The Cupcake Shoppe!). We chose three amazing flavors for our three-tier wedding cake, and each was absolutely amazing and so moist. Our wedding guests still keep telling us how it was the best wedding cake they'd ever had, and we completely agree!! I worked with the team at The Cupcake Shoppe to design our dream wedding cake (I'm a wedding planner/designer, so I had lots of ideas!), and when I saw our cake on our wedding day, I was completely blown away!! Everyone should always use The Cupcake Shoppe for their dessert needs! Never having considered myself that much of a sweets person, I now want to eat dessert from here every day. Yes, they are that good. For our wedding, I wanted a cake, my husband wanted cupcakes. Working with Lauren (who is professional, responsive, and just all around amazing), we were able to have both at a very reasonable price. We chose to do a three layer cake and an assortment of mini cupcakes - red velvet, plain jane, oreo, peanut butter cup (so good), and my favorite - cinnamon. Also, for our gluten free guests, we had the most tasty GF red velvet cupcakes. For the cake, Lauren worked with me to design something simple but elegant and added a few flowers from our florist.
Everyone warned us that there is always cake left over - our guests ate it all. Many of them asked where we got it because it was the best cake they had ever had. Lauren and the Cupcake Shoppe, thank you so much for everything!

Our cutting cake was decorated in accordance with our theme, which was a nice touch. The mini cupcakes were absolutely scrumptious -- I think the strawberry is my favorite! The owner told me the strawberry cupcakes are made with fresh strawberries, and you can truly tell the difference. I think we ordered strawberry, carrot cake, and lemon flavored mini cupcakes, and the flavor in all of them was strong and delicious. For our dessert bar, we had cake pops and macaroons; the cake pops were really scrumptious and the macaroons were decorated with our theme, and in a variety of flavors that I liked. I'm only sad that we didn't get to take more home -- our guests loved everything! Even after the hearty, home-style meal we had for our catering, these treats were a delicious -- well, treat!

The Cupcake Shoppe made the perfect mini cupcakes for our wedding! My husband and I couldn't decide what flavors to go with so we did mini cupcakes so our guests could try all of the flavors we picked.
They were extremely flexible and communicated with me often about my ideas until I finally settled on a design, flavors, and quantity.
We ultimately decided on mini cupcakes and a small 1 layer cake to cut and save (for tradition). Our 1 layer cake was exactly how I had pictured it in my head, including the fondant NCSU Mr. Wuf peeking out of the bottom! They also make the most delicious lavender shortbread cookies. I ordered a smaller quantity of those for the bridal party for earlier in the day.
I highly recommend them for any dessert needs!

I absolutely LOVE The Cupcake Shoppe. Two days before my traditional wedding I learned that my baker (different company) had been mistaken and thought that my traditional wedding was on Friday and not Thursday. Because of this, she told me that there was no way that she would be able to make a fondant cake in 2 days and that the best she could offer was a buttercream cake. As you can imagine, I was in a bit of a bind as I did not know how I was going to get a custom fondant cake on such short notice. I contacted the Cupcake Shoppe at 8:15 on Thursday night. I knew that they closed at 8pm but I was desperate. To my surprise, my call was answered. I explained my dilemma and the lady who answered told me that they would most likely be able to bake me a cake in the shape of a suitcase with coral beads on top. She told me that the decorator would contact me in the morning in order to confirm this and to place the order. As promised, I was contacted in the morning. What I absolutely love is how calming and sweet the manager was. She was very understanding and accommodating. She did not make me feel rushed or pressured even though it was literally 24 hours before my event. I sent a few pictures of cakes that I liked and the order was placed. The cake far exceeded my expectations. Not only was it larger than expected, it was beautiful AND delicious! I took some with me on my honeymoon because it was that tasty. The Cupcake Shoppe is incredible. It is impossible to express how thankful I am to them for accommodating me on such short notice. I would recommend The Cupcake Shoppe ten times over.

We got the cupcakes for our wedding from The Cupcake Shoppe in Raleigh, NC. The shop is wonderful in general! We go there a couple times a month. The treats are always wonderful and the service is great. We didn't even have to discuss whether to get a cake or cupcakes, and where we would get our prized wedding treat. We both knew - the Cupcake Shoppe was it! Why decide on just one flavor when you can get several of your favorites?

The Cupcake Shoppe was the perfect choice for our wedding. They have great flavors both traditional and fun. My visiting family and friends just raved about the Red Velvet cupcakes! Everyone loved them all and they looked beautiful. I'm not convinced I would have received as many compliments if I had ordered a regular sheet cake :-/ Cupcakes are the way to go!

Sara at The Cupcake Shoppe did a fabulous job with the cupcakes for our wedding reception. She was professional, friendly, and accommodating. The cupcakes looked beautiful and tasted AMAZING! I highly recommend this vendor.

We loved our cupcakes! They look beautiful, but they taste even better! They are really flavored differently, the strawberry frosting actually tastes like strawberries, the coconut like coconut. The staff invited us in for a taste testing, and we were very comfortable. They lent us the display trays on which to put the cupcakes, and they made a bride and groom cake for my daughter to cut the night of the wedding. We highly recommend this vendor. I can't wait to eat another one of their cupcakes!

The Cupcake Shoppe was delicious! We had decided to do cupcakes for our wedding since my husband and I both prefer cupcakes over cake (not even sure why!), and also had a small little 1-tiered cake as well so that we could still do the traditional "cutting of the cake". They were beautiful! We did three different flavors - the Plain Jane (vanilla with buttercream frosting), the Black and White (chocolate with buttercream frosting but we opted for cream cheese instead), and Red Velvet. They were a big hit, especially with our lil guests. Sarah was great to work with, very enthusiastic about my ideas - I wanted to cover the frosting with decorative sugar so they looked sparkly. Highly recommend them!

Beautiful Cake
Front of House Manager Arlen Mabe was very professional, helpful, and accommodating. A few changes needed to be made during the interval of ordering and the actual event and she assured me these weren't a problem. The cake on our day was definitely special. It was delivered on time, beautifully decorated in the shop and adorned flowers with flowers from our florist, AND tasted delicious.

My cake provider fell through two months before my wedding. Luckily, The Cupcake Shoppe was available and easy to work with. They let me choose many cupcake flavors, as well as a top tier that we could cut into. They also let me use a coupon from the Enjoy the City book! Arlen was great to work with and super friendly.

I worked closely with Arlin at the CupCake Shoppe. She was very helpful and patient. She helped us design a combination wedding cake and mini cupcake display. The cupcakes were a huge hit, especially the lemon ones! I did have the cake delivered to the venue and had to personally return the 2 tiered display. Just make sure you speak with the person delivering and setting up your display, as mine looked beautiful, but wasn't exactly what we had discussed, but no one knew the difference!

we didn't do a cake -- just cupcakes -- for our wedding. our guests LOVED them. heard "best cupcakes ever" a few times. there were 2 things that i was kind of "eh" about: 1) their delivery charge was HIGH (i think $70?) and was not based on how far they had to travel. their shop was less than 1 mile away from our venue. we were going to have them delivered just to save us another trip that day but when we heard $70 for less than a mile? no thanks. 2) we asked them if we could have a few (10?) small boxes for guests to take cupcakes home should there be any leftovers. they told us they'd have to charge for the boxes. after we just cut you a check for $800? really? in the end they did give us a few boxes free of charge. those are just small things though. overall i would definitely recommend them!

All flavors are delicious. Sara is able to take your vision and create a beautiful display. The hardest part was deciding which flavors to include!! Can't wait until our first anniversary so we can break in to the rest of our top tier!!

It was such a pleasure working with The Cupcake Shoppe Bakery! We had a specific vision for our cake and they made it happen! The cake was beyond beautiful and it tasted delicious! We will definitely be working with them again!

Overall our experience with The Cupcake Shoppe was very good. The manager was incredibly friendly and helpful. I sent over pictures of the cakes I liked and we determined together which option was going to work out best. My cake looked exactly as I had hoped on my wedding day! The only glitch, the cake was the wrong flavor! I decided not to say anything after the wedding - what's done is done! The cake looked beautiful and was delicious, just not what we picked out ;)

Cake was gorgeous and tasted good, it was just what I wanted aesthetically. Unfortunately, every time I try a cupcake from their shop, it's too dry! This was also true with my wedding cake. The ladies are all great to work with, and I suggest visiting and tasting before you sign a contract or pay a deposit.

We had a cupcake tree from the Cupcake Tree as our wedding cake. While the Cupcakes were very delicious, the Cupcake Shoppe got our order wrong. Thankfully, they were able to fix the problem and provide the correct flavor and icing color the morning of the wedding. Overall, I was happy and the guests loved our dessert!

Sara Coleman, the owner, had a contract with my father for my wedding cupcakes. She sent me an overview of the contract by email (my father had a more detailed version) while my father sent her a check paying in full three months before the date of service. Sara almost didn't deliver our cupcakes because she got the date wrong. We called her the night of our wedding and she did deliver most of what we ordered after we brought it to her attention--so that was good, but then she dodged calls from my father after the wedding.
Looking back on it now--she definitely should have called my father back. She did say when she delivered the cupcakes that night she would refund him in full --it was only $230 because we had a small dinner. My dad never got his refund. Also at the consultation, she had this huge binder out on the table, but never once offered pictures of past works (I had seen the gallery on the website, but I expected more photos for ideas). She seemed kind of aloof at the meeting.
Overall it just left a bad taste in my mouth! I was REALLY REALLY disappointed especially because I just hosted a baby shower at her shop two weeks prior to my weeding.

We had cupcakes for our wedding, with a 6-in round cutting cake. Flavor-wise, the cupcakes and cake were awesome. Super tasty. Visually, the cake ended up looking a little plain, and we tried to get them to frost the cupcakes with a star-tip instead of the round-tip (which makes the cupcakes look like a Dairy Queen ice cream cone), but they insisted that the frosting wouldn't look good that way (even though I've seen other cupcakes frosted with the star-tip). We ended up having to do things more their way than I would have liked, but it was a battle I didn't feel like pursuing. I felt like they were a little on the expensive side, but still less than going with the traditional wedding cake. The good thing is that their flavors are unique and very tasty.
