Dream venue

The Cotton Room was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the beginning, their communication was easy and timely, making the planning process so much smoother. The quality of their work and the overall value was simply beautiful and romantic and definitely worth the price! Courtney, our coordinator, was incredibly organized and answered all of our questions with patience and care. Their staff was efficient and very kind to us and all of our guests. The space itself is so gorgeous that decorations were a breeze - their all-inclusive experience made wedding planning stress-free. The Cotton Room team knows exactly what they're doing and they execute it flawlessly. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding day.

Best Decision Ever!

We fell in love with The Cotton Room the moment we entered those doors. Very beautiful on the inside and the suites were very accommodating. Everything went smoothly from the tour, contract signing, planning, menu selections, sip sessions, rehearsal, and the day of our big day. We are truly grateful for Melissa, our coordinating all of this!

Amazing venue, great people to work with!

The Cotton Room was awesome, I had an idea for how I wanted everything to look and they helped make it tangible. It was great rolling catering and décor into their sister companies (Petal and Oak) and made things easier. Devon was our assigned planner and she was great to work with, super receptive and very open to communication. My event went off perfectly and a lot of that was thanks to the venue for making everything run smoothly.

Perfect Wedding!

We are beyond happy that we had our wedding at the Cotton Room. The Cotton Room itself is a beautiful space and very spacious. We were planning from out of town and relied heavily on our coordinator, Heather, who did an amazing job of keeping up with all our requests especially with her organized planning tool. Heather was very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure all the little details were taken care of. The staff provided excellent service and the food was also very good. They had an extensive food and drink menu to select from. We also loved their signature cocktails. The planning process was easy with The Cotton Room. We were so happy with our wedding highly recommend The Cotton Room.

Extremely easy and well worth the price.

The all inclusiveness of the Cotton Room made planning our wedding here a breeze and I would highly recommend it. The location is absolutely beautiful and the food exceeded my expectations. No regrets!

Beautiful venue!

The Cotton Room is an incredible wedding venue. I recently had my wedding here and was blown away by the service. We worked with Chris and he made the wedding planning process so easy. Chris had great recommendations and was responsive to all of our questions. We are still hearing from friends and family on how beautiful our wedding venue was and the great overall experience at The Cotton Room.

Amazing Wedding

We used The Cotton Room for our ceremony and reception space and catering, and we are thrilled that we did. Our assigned coordinator Heather was professional, knowledgeable and a joy to work with, especially on the day itself. She walked us through the planning process from start to finish and was a great resource for advice, recommendations and ideas. She took away a huge amount of stress before and during the wedding day itself and we enjoyed every minute of working with her. The Cotton Room itself is a stunning space that mesmerized our guests and decorated beautifully. Their catering and drink options were exceptional. The menu showcased North Carolina and was delicious, with several guests commenting it was the best wedding food they’d ever had, with even more going back to the buffet for seconds. The bartenders were quick and pleasant, and the bar didn’t run out of any of our drink selections. The Cotton Room was the best decision we made during our wedding planning process, and we could not recommend it more highly.

Chris and The Cotton Room Team are THE BEST!

The venue was awesome and the team (Especially Chris) was amazing! The process and planning was clear, precise and easy with Chris. Appointment setting was simple and easy and the team and venue made us feel as though we were at home. Our guests loved the staff the day of the event. Being at this venue and working with Chris and his team was an awesome experience! The tasting events before our big day also helped us tremendously in selecting our menu options. Best wedding venue in Durham hands down

There are no words that can adequately express how amazing my experience was with The Cotton Room. My coordinator Heather is a god send her calm, funny and organized personality makes you feel completely at ease. From the stress free planning process with Heather to the food and sip tastings my (now) husband I were so impressed. Now to the day of the wedding, I didn’t have to worry about anything! Both the boys and the ladies had a suit mate who helped keep things moving and heather of course checked in and I was confident she had everything handled. Not only was the food amazing but the drinks were phenomenal. And if the wedding it’s self wasn’t perfect enough we were sent home with a bottle of persecuting and s pizza just Incase we didn’t get enough to eat with all of the guests coming up to speak with us. 100/10 would recommend to anyone. The Cotton Room is top notch and a dream to work with.

Great venue!

Easy venue to work with from planning to the wedding day; Heather was a fantastic day of coordinator! Tons of in-house catering and bar options. We got lots of compliments about how well everything worked and the food.

Exceeded my expectations!

The Cotton Room made my dream wedding come true! Chris was very professional and made wedding planning easy through the BaseCamp software. Our guests love the variety of menu options as well as comfortable seating. The venue space is perfect for pictures and has great lighting. My wedding was amazing on July 6,2019 and my wedding guests had a great time!

Dream Wedding

Chris Hinton and the entire staff provided the most comfortable, efficient, friendly, and timely service anyone could ask for. Chris was always available no matter the time of day or night to answer any questions my wife and I could have had. we were recently married on July 6,2019 and the staff made everything flow flawlessly. I would recommend this venue to anyone. Before securing this venue we browsed just about every venue in the triangle area of NC, none provided the professionalism of The Cotton Room. I again would like to thank Chris and the entire staff for making our dream come true.

My dream wedding come true!

I cannot gush enough about how perfect our wedding was! Choosing The Cotton Room as our venue was the best decision we could have made. From the beginning the staff was highly professional. They worked around our crazy work schedules to set up a tour and gave us a generous amount of time to decide whether to book with them. As soon as we decided to have our wedding there, we were assigned a coordinator and granted access to their online software called Base Camp, which was super convenient for organizing all our documents (vendor agreements, itineraries, contracts, etc), as well as having discussions between us and our coordinator about various planning details, both big and small. I could easily upload pictures to convey my vision, and see updates to all our wedding details in real time. We also got their preferred vendor list, most of whom we used since they were so familiar with the space and so highly recommended on multiple wedding sites.

We were SO lucky to have Heather from The Cotton Room as our coordinator! From the beginning she set our minds at ease by letting us know she was there to help us communicate with all the vendors and stay organized in the planning process. She was also there on our wedding day from start to finish. She worked SO hard. She always returned my messages on email or Base Camp promptly. She advocated on our behalf to make sure we were able to get the lighting options we wanted and get as many food options as possible under our package. She was thorough in working with me on the timeline for the rehearsal and wedding day. She oversaw the set-up of all our decorations (which turned out exactly as I had dreamed), as well as packing everything up at the end of the night. Throughout the day she checked in with me regularly to make sure I had everything I needed and was feeling good. She even took charge of bustling my dress! As a result my (now) husband and I, and our families, were able to just relax and enjoy the day. Most of all, throughout the whole process Heather was upbeat and genuinely excited for us! She has a bubbly personality that kept everyone calm and focused on the important things- spending time with each other!

Besides the excellent care we received from the staff at The Cotton Room, I want to mention how gorgeous the venue is! Floor to ceiling windows, exposed brick, and vaulted ceilings give it a feel of rustic elegance. The bride and groom suites were awesome as well! We each had our own suite attendants who ensured we had plenty of snacks and drinks getting ready that morning. The bridal suite is especially comfortable, with essentially an entire salon space in the back, a kitchenette, a bathroom with all the toiletry essentials provided, and a nice front room with tons of natural light for those pictures with your mom/bridesmaids helping you with your dress.

We also had a ton of fun with Triangle Catering’s tastings. They do open houses at The Cotton Room rather than individual tastings, which are essentially whole weddings without anyone getting married. We got a chance to go to three of them, with our families, and try a ton of different food options from the menu, as well as see the room decorated in different ways. The bar tasting was amazing too. We got to try all different wines and cocktails and they gave us a bunch of appetizers to have with them- basically a great date night! We are really into local craft beer and they were able to get exactly the options we wanted.

All of the food at the wedding was delicious! Our guests raved and we were able to find a good balance to satisfy many different tastes, including those who were vegetarian/vegan and those with gluten intolerance. We actually got to eat as well, as they made up special plates of everything for the bride and groom.

I know this is a long review but I didn’t want to leave anything out. Again, I cannot say enough how special our wedding was! Having it at The Cotton Room contributed to making it a great experience, not just that day but in the whole year leading up to it!

Dream Come True

The Cotton Room is a stunning venue, you don't need much to make it beautiful. We were so pleased with the attentive staff, gorgeous space, and all that was included with our booking. The Cotton Room was the most perfect place to have our wedding and made our special day so magical. We highly recommend The Cotton Room to anyone getting married and wanting the full wedding experience!

We had an amazing experience at The Cotton Room. It is a truly beautiful venue with brick accents to distinguish your party from the generic hotel ballroom. Even more importantly the people who work at The Cotton Room are beyond incredible. All the way up to my wedding they actively helped make it less stressful and on the big day helped it to go off without a hitch. I would highly recommend them and if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing.

My husband and I got married at The Cotton Room on September 2, 2017. It was magical. It was amazing. Our guests have been talking about the location and the food nonstop for the last three months. I was an out of town bride and knew NOTHING about the Triangle area, and to be honest going into wedding planning, The Cotton Room reflected nothing of what I was expecting for my wedding. But someone recommended the location to me so I decided a tour couldn't hurt. When I arrived in the Ceremony/Reception space I was blown away. I immediately fell in love. I didn't even tour anywhere else after that, I knew The Cotton Room was what I wanted. I moved my wedding up from when I was intending to have it simply because that's what they had available! Everyone I was in contact with was amazingly helpful and answered all my questions so quickly. They were very accommodating to push back a few due dates for decisions because the only time I could make a tasting was AFTER when I was supposed to make my food decisions. Thanks guys!! And I LOVED the bar appointment, they made me incredibly familiar with every drink they had and were amazingly knowledgable about all of them! My guests loved our custom cocktails and so did we! They even let us bring in our own personal statue of Captain Morgan, to delight of both guests and staff. Even more amazing, they accommodated my sister (my Maid of Honor) for the champagne toast by providing a non alcoholic option last minute when we forgot to tell them she was allergic (so awesome!!) and not to mention the fact that they provided us (the bride and groom) with a homemade pizza and a six pack selection of beers from our bar to enjoy in our Honeymoon Suite! Everything about this place is worth checking out, from the Bride AND Grooms Suites, the amazing Ceremony&Reception area, to the BEAUTIFUL bar. Your guests will thank you for the food!

As soon as we walked into The Cotton Room, we fell in love and knew it would be the best decision for our wedding....and I wasn't wrong! We worked with Summer and she made absolutely everything so easy and relaxed for us! Meeting with her was like meeting with an old friend, absolutely no stress and totally comfortable. The Cotton Room staff was all unbelievably kind and helpful in making our big day a dream come true. From the delicious food and drink to not having to worry about ANYTHING on my wedding day except getting down the aisle, The Cotton Room is the complete package and worth every penny! I don't even know where to begin. Every aspect of our experience with The Cotton Room exceeded our expectations. The rustic elegance of the venue was a perfect fit for the vision we had for our big day. Wood beams, wood floors, brick walls, floor to ceiling windows...a beautiful space. At first glance it definitely takes up a large chunk of any budget, but we quickly realized we were truly getting what we paid for, and more. The Cotton Room took care of so many aspects related to our wedding, including food, alcohol, dinner and bar staff, linens, and dishes. Even their every day decor was an added bonus to the look we were going for, such as the beautiful draping and lounge furniture throughout the space. And probably my BIGGEST compliment to this venue is in regards to their in-house coordinator they provide. We were privileged to have Becky Chapman as our coordinator and she truly made preparation for the big day, and execution of the big day, a smooth, easy and enjoyable process. She was always available to answer EVERY question I had and never hesitated to help me make my requests happen. On the day of the wedding, she was there for me from the moment I awoke until the evening came to a close. The bridal suite and groom suite were the perfect place to get ready, and the suite attendants were amazing. We had the pleasure of having Dawn help us all afternoon and evening, always there to get us anything we needed. She even helped my flower girl with her hair! She truly was a gem that made the day so great. The staff and coordinators at The Cotton Room are a well oiled machine that helps make your day run perfectly. They found a way to stay in the shadows and out of the way, while still somehow always being there the moment you needed something. I could not have imagined having our wedding at any other venue but here. From people to food to service to experience, we definitely got what we paid for and more.

Last year, my husband and I started to look at wedding venues in NC since we knew that we were moving to Raleigh/Durham from Boston, MA. We saw several venues but The Cotton Room was the most accommodating of our schedule and our tour exceeded our expectations. When meeting with Laura, she helped us visualize what a wedding at the venue would look like and showed us menus, linen colors, pictures, and answered all of our questions. She was extremely responsive and worked with us to create multiple proposals as we weighed our options. Once we went under contract, we were connected with our wedding coordinator, Summer, who was a pleasure to work with. We had several planning meetings with Summer to work out the details for our wedding and she helped us with everything along the way from table linens to escort cards the day of my wedding! Summer absolutely went above and beyond for us and did not hesitate to answer any of our random questions. Not only was the staff amazing but our guests raved about the food and the event space itself was beautiful. I could not have asked for a better venue/staff to work with!

My husband and I got married at The Cotton Room on July 30, 2016! Not only was the food delicious but the staff, organization, and venue space were all incredible. Our wedding coordinator, Becky Chapman, did an absolutely amazing job and helped give us the wedding of our dreams. Her calm demeanor, positive attitude, and confidence in executing all aspects of a wedding will help ease any anxious bride's nerves. Also, two members of the staff, Maranda and Anthony (there are many more but these two stood out in a lot of ways), made us and our guests feel welcomed and valued. Our guests could not stop talking about our "storybook" wedding days after the event. We would like to thank everyone at The Cotton Room for their excellent service and we would highly recommend this venue!

Before choosing our venue we looked at a lot of places online. The Cotton Room was the first place we looked at in person and ended up being the only place we needed to! We fell in love with the look of the venue right away as well as the menu and flexibility of food options. To put it simply, they did whatever we wanted and we were able to have amazing food and drinks for all our guests. After having our coordinators switched a couple times Becky ended up working with us and we could not have asked for a better coordinator. She seemed to know everything about the venue and the menu, she answered emails immediately (no matter how many I sent her in a day), and made our day stress free for us. Becky and The Cotton Room helped make our day everything we imagined!

We haven't had our wedding yet, but I'm going to rave about The Cotton Room anyways. So far our experience with The Cotton Room has been amazing. Our wedding coordinator, Amalia, is so wonderful. She is quick at responding to my emails, and flexible when it comes to arranging meetings. She has been super helpful with updating our contract and returning it when I ask her to add something to it. I fell in love with The Cotton Room the minute we walked in and saw the brick walls, the high ceilings, the drapes, the hardwood floor, everything. Everything about The Cotton Room is perfect and I cannot wait to get married in September.

The Cotton Room exceeded our expectations for our April 16, 2016 wedding. It all started with our planner, Becky, who was very enjoyable to work with. She was easy to talk to, organized, professional, and offered great feedback. She gets big props for making our big day so perfect.

The venue itself is beautiful. It has a very unique look that came together just right on the big day. To boot, the food was absolutely delicious and the servers were very attentive and friendly.

I've had many family members and friends rave over the venue and food. We wouldn't have changed a thing. Thanks Becky and the rest of the Cotton Room staff!

Would highly recommend the Cotton Room for a ceremony and reception. The ceremony felt intimate even though there were almost 150 people there. The team quickly transformed the space during the cocktail hour and it was magnificent. I was able to thoroughly enjoy the wedding. Amalia is personable and quite professional and was a joy to work with.

Absolute Perfection! The Cotton Room in Durham was the exquisite setting for our daughter's amazing wedding this weekend, 4/2/16! Incrediblely delicious and.creative menu, served hot and plentiful by an attentive and friendly Wait Staff. Bar tenders kept it fun and responsible. Decorations, lighting and linen curtains kept it rromantic and exciting. Best of all, Wedding Planner Amalia saw to all the details beforehand, the rehearsal, the transition of ceremony to reception, the sparkling send off of the Bride and Groom, and even to packing up the cars to leave. Orchestrating the timing of the evening in a calm and kind manner, Amalia and her Assistant brought out the best of the wedding party, the large extended families and their guests! Bravo!

We cannot speak highly enough about The Cotton Room and the services of Amalia Sarnecki-Ackley. Critical to our wedding vision were space, food, and libations. The Cotton Room is a gorgeous and versatile space that was conducive to all of our needs and desires. I could not find any fault in the food they provided. The beef was succulent. The salads were savory and colorful. The hors d’oeuvre, visually appealing and non-messy, were a well received at cocktail hour. And the flambéed donuts with ice cream were a hit with guests as a wedding cake alternative. Guests never noticed we didn’t have a cake to cut until hours after the reception ended! To make the wedding trifecta complete, the venue’s open bar won over our guests. The variety of beers and wines provided, in addition to liquor, satisfied all palettes.

Most importantly, the venue’s personnel were attentive, responsive, professional, and amicable at every step of the process. Though our wedding was adults-only, several guests had newborns or toddlers. The venue allowed us to convert the bridal suite into a childcare center where a local childcare professional watched all children while their parents partied 200 feet away. This also permitted nursing mothers to have some privacy to feed their children throughout the night. This consideration by The Cotton Room was invaluable for several close relatives and friends. It allowed the parents to be near their children and enjoy the celebration unencumbered with constant childcare demands.

If you’re looking for a spacious venue with great staff in Durham, NC, then The Cotton Room is your destination. You cannot go wrong. And ask for Amalia!

The Cotton Room is an absolutely beautiful venue for your wedding and/or reception. The Cotton Room hosted our wedding reception on 11/8/15, and I have not yet stopped receiving compliments on how gorgeous the room was, how great the food was, how much space we had, and how much FUN all of our guests had. Shelley is absolutely stupendous, and she assisted us every step of the way by helping us make decisions without stress, being responsive and attentive to our questions and desires, and with all of the work she put in to our wedding to make sure that it was not only decorated beautifully, but that the food was great, that everything went smoothly, and that everyone had a good time. BOOK THEM!

Shelley (our day-of coordinator) made my dream wedding come to life at The Cotton Room. She was so responsive through the entire planning process and really understood my vision. She was there with suggestions when I needed help, and really went the extra mile the day of the wedding. The venue itself is gorgeous and offer so much more than just a place to stay. The food was incredible and I could not have asked for anything better. Thank you to everyone who helped us!

The Cotton Room is ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR!!! The venue itself is gorgeous with exposed brick, high ceilings, and wooden pillars. The food is SUPERB and all of our guests commented on how delicious everything was! Additionally since all the catering is done in house, it greatly streamlines the planning process. However, by far the greatest asset of the Cotton Room is their wedding coordinators, who facilitate the planning process, all setup and decoration, and execution on the day of the wedding. Michelle, who coordinated our wedding, is THE BEST!!!! She helped us plan our entire wedding and made sure everything was beautifully arranged on the day of our wedding. Furthermore, she's super flexible and easily adapts to difficult situations!! She was there the whole time and made sure everything was exactly as we envisioned! Michelle truly made our wedding special and completely stress-free! A HUGE THANK YOU to The Cotton Room and Michelle for a FANTASTIC experience!

Our wedding at The Cotton Room was 1 week ago today and it was PERFECT! Michelle Aldred and her amazing staff made our day more special than I could ever have imagined. I was overwhelmed at the thought of planning a wedding and waited months before deciding to do anything. Once we visited and saw The Cotton Room, we knew it was THE venue for us. From that point on, everything was so easy and fell right in to place. Every single guest ranted & raved about how beautiful everything was and how delicious the food was. We could not be more pleased with our decision to have our special day in this gorgeous space. Michelle was also super quick to reply anytime I had a question and was very helpful every step of the way. The day went off without a hitch! It actually went by so fast, I wish we could go back and do it all over again! I would highly recommend booking The Cotton Room for your wedding or any other special event!

Ps. ALL of the food is superb, but the pork puppies are ridiculously good and we had the Asian scallop spoons and I literally (and not exaggerating!) ate about 8 of them myself! You just can't go wrong with any of the available food options!

My husband and I had our wedding on January 3rd, 2015 and could not have asked for a better venue and experience. We worked directly with Shelley Clayton and she made sure every little thing I requested, big or small, was taken care of. The venue is beautiful and and makes for such beautiful pictures. The food and drinks were amazing. We had so many compliments on how delicious everything was. Our wedding was rather large (240 people) so I was nervous about the timeliness of dinner being served, however The Cotton Room did an incredible job and the food was served promptly. Having their own catering in house made it so much easier for me as the bride (all flatware, dinner plates, barware, etc was included) and the food is much fresher when cooked on location. I would 100% recommend The Cotton Room to anyone looking for a wedding venue.

The Cotton Room was AMAZING. Hands down best vendor choice of my wedding. From day 1 of planning to the final night before their planning and expertise was calming and professional. Each planning session fell at a logical time and got the appropriate amount done. We had a brunch wedding and not only was the value incredible, the lighting and venue was perfect. Lots of people told us it was the most beautiful wedding they'd ever been to. Also, the mango mimosas were delicious - as was all the food. Amalia was our wedding planner, and she knows her stuff. Plus she still loves planning it with you, its the right balance between professional and objective with having a friend's opinion. You can't go wrong with the Cotton Room.

Michelle was so accommodating and responsive and helpful. My wedding day was flawless and Michelle was a huge part of that. The space was absolutely gorgeous and well worth the expense. The food was also fantastic and many of my guests have commented on how delicious the food was. Thank you so much for making my wedding day an absolute dream.

Michelle and her staff were simply amazing. The space exceeded our expectations. The planning was pretty Uneventful thanks to Michelle and her staff. We were planning the wedding from across the country and it was wonderful to know we were in such great hands. All of our guests raved about the food! And the romance of the space.

My daughter, Heather and Zack, now son-in-law had their wedding on June 8, 2014. It was absolutely beautiful. The staff was great and pampered my daughter on her wedding day. The wedding decor and food wonderful! This event was like fairy book story.

Would recommend all out of town guest stay at the Hilton Garden Inn/University Medical Center, Durham. The staff and service is outstanding and so close to the Cotton Room! Great Hotel!!

We had our ceremony and reception at The Cotton Room and worked with Jeriann as our wedding planner. I have to say, I was definitely shocked by the prices at first, but after the wedding, seeing how smoothly and beautifully everything came together, I would pay it all over again. Jeriann was always easily accessible via email and phone, and was a pleasure to work with. I can easily say that because The Cotton Room takes care of everything, I was not nearly as stressed as I imagined I would be with the planning. All of our guests raved about the food (summer dinner buffet and sweets table) and thought the room looked stunning. The staff were all incredibly nice and responsive and made sure that we were happy and that everything stayed beautiful. Working with The Cotton Room and Jeriann was fabulous and I would recommend anyone getting married or holding a large event to use them!!!

Throughout the wedding planning process I was frequently told, "I can't believe how calm you are - you must be a Really great planner." It's true, I was able to stay calm and anxiety-free throughout 95% of the days leading up to my wedding - but nearly all of that had to do with the incredible venue that I was fortunate to book.

The Cotton Room sincerely is an all-in-one venue providing in-house floral (stunning), decorations (perfect), linens / china / flatware / seating / chairs (convenient), and catering (phenomenal - the best wedding food I have tasted, despite my bias). Amalia served as my wedding coordinator, also provided by The Cotton Room, and she did everything for me it seems except walk me down the aisle. She managed vendors. All of them. She managed the scheduling. All of it. She got creative to help me make the most of our budget and added in special "extras" where she could. If I needed a hand to hold, Amalia was there. If I needed a mimosa, Amalia was there. If someone was missing, Amalia found them. If anything went wrong at all on my wedding day I certainly wasn't (and am not) aware of it. Because Amalia and The Cotton Room are awesome. Even down to the kitchen and waitstaff.

If I had to do it all over again, I would select the exact same venue. I would beg for Amalia, and I would sleep well every night knowing that this venue and its people have got weddings covered.

Thank you to the entire team at The Cotton Room for so many incredible memories and peaceful months leading up to my big day :)

Our whole experience from beginning to end was wonderful! Everything was just perfect. We (I am the mother of the bride. My daughter and her husband did most of the planning and communicating since they live in Durham but I made several visits, too) worked with many nice people, but Amalia was our main "consultant". She was wonderful.

Whitney is our only daughter but if I had more weddings to plan I would want to do it again at the Cotton Room with Amalia.

The Cotton Room was the PERFECT place for our September 2013 wedding reception. Working with Amalia and their staff was incredibly easy. The set up and flow of the day were outstanding. The food was simply amazing! We are still having guests requesting recipes for the food that was served. The service was phenomenal- staff was bringing wedding party drinks and food without being asked throughout the night. Everything about our wedding there was just perfect. Holly Ward and The Cotton Room were ridiculously amazing. Holly took over my wedding reception 2-3 weeks before the event was going to take place. During our first conversation, which was probably her first week on the job, maybe even first day, she already had an answer for every question, asked me about many specifics I had not yet thought of, and helped me plan out those fine details. Not only was she on point with my event, but she was friendly, encouraging, and excited while working with me. She responded very quickly and professionally. We met in person only one time, and that was a few days before the wedding. We went over the timeline and details, and sorted out some last minute things. I even made some difficult last minute changes and she was able to pull them off!! The day of the wedding, she was at The Cotton Room all day overseeing the entire start to finish process, making sure everything was in the right place and on time. She was available if I needed her that entire day. She met me as soon as I arrived after the wedding ceremony, and even helped bustle my dress! Holly then led me back into the reception hall, away from the cocktail hour, so that I could see the reception laid out and decorated with out anyone in the room yet. It was AWESOME. The place was gorgeous and everything was perfect. I really enjoyed that moment. She did an amazing job!!! The Cotton Room is lucky to have someone that fantastic. If I could do all of that over again, I definitely would! And I wouldn't change anything! I would even plan it all in two weeks with her again, she made the entire process and that day so relaxed and easy. The Cotton Room is beautiful, all of the staff is so nice and professional, my husband and I really appreciate everything they accomplished for us that day. The food was delicious! And of course, Holly, the event coordinator was superb!! Our wedding day was absolutely perfect!

We loved having our reception at the cotton room! It was a neat venue different then the country club or hotel reception theme. The CR staff went above and beyond to meet the needs of our guests during dinner, cocktails, and at the bar not to mention the food was delicious! It was the perfect venue for us and I was at ease during the planning process knowing our catering, rentals and other little details were being taken care of by a fabulous staff.

The Cotton Room is the most beautiful venue I have ever been to! When the sun goes down and the lights are on, the place looks magical! Michelle worked with my husband and I, planning out every last detail of the wedding days events. She made sure we had everything we needed while the girls and I got ready in the bridal suite (which is gorgeous) and kept us on time the whole day till it was time to go. The staff was so nice and responsive! The food is amazing, they have hushpuppy bbq bites that will thrill any southerner, and the prime rib and cheese stuffed chicken were delicious! If I had the option to do my wedding over I wouldn't change the venue because it was perfect!

Our wedding at the Cotton Room was exactly as we had imagined. This venue is absolutely wonderful. The cathedral windows are as beautiful as you will find anywhere. The way they can flip that room from a ceremony room into a cocktail and finally a reception area is amazing. All the staff are professional and courteous. They stay in the background but they are very much in control of everything. The food was delicious with the hush-puppy barbecue appetizers being the hit of the evening. All of our guests are still raving about those! I am so glad that we decided to use the Cotton Room. It was perfect and we are forever grateful for everyone who helped to make the wedding a dream come true.

I just had my wedding and could not be happier with the turn out. Michelle kept telling me that she had it and to quit worrying and enjoy my wedding and she did not let me down. She, and Lauran and Ad, were all great. They all made me feel important and like a priority. All the guest raved about how wonderful the food was, many said the best they've ever had at a wedding!!! Such a beautiful venue and the prices are more than fair! The all inclusiveness made everything SO much easier that it could have been. I will speak highly of The Cotton Room to everyone!

My daughter, Carrie, had her wedding at the Cotton Room on July 15, 2012. There were guests there who were local and people who had come from very far away, and everyone agreed, it was one of the best weddings everyone had ever been to. The venue was fantastic and set up to run like a well-oiled machine. Some of the biggest food critics at the wedding all thought the food was delicious, and it was. Michelle was there thorughout the whole wedding and I never saw any event run as smoothly as was this wedding. Thank you Michelle and your staff for providing everything needed for a one-of a kind wedding.

We had our rehearsal dinner for around 140 people at The Cotton Room last summer and I could not have been more pleased with the quality of the venue and the service. They were very willing to work with us to tailor their standard packages to our preferences and to incorporate all of our ideas into the event, and I found the prices to be very fair. It was an extremely stressful weekend as we got married during Hurricane Irene, but I did not have to worry about a thing during the rehearsal dinner thanks to Michelle and her staff. The entire event from beginning to end, including coordination of bridal party speeches, a DJ, etc., went flawlessly and all of our guests were incredibly impressed by the beautiful space as well as the friendly and attentive service. They were a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend them.

My only daughter had her wedding reception at The Cotton Room. Everything was fantastic! The communication leading up the the reception was excellent. Bottom line upfront: I give The Cotton Room my strongest recommendation as a venue for a wedding reception. Whenever I wrote an e-mail, it was always answered in a timely manner. I found everyone we dealt with extremely professional and competent. I can't begin to tell you how beautiful the space looked. We had the venue draped during the cocktail hour and then they pulled the drapes back. My sister told me that when they did that, she said "Wow!" I described my daughter's wedding as casually elegant and it was. Also, the food was delicious. We had stations, chicken and waffles; shrimp and grits; salad ladders; mini pork sandwiches. Everyone raved about the food. One person said, "I've been to 45 weddings, this was the best ever!" About two weeks before the wedding we decided to have up lighting, I had no idea what a huge difference that would make, it really set the mood.

Lauran and everyone at The Cotton Room was so helpful!! We discussed with her our vision, dropped off the decorations and the result was even more fabulous than we could have imagined! And the food!! Oh my goodness, the food was AMAZING! Crab beignets, pulled pork stuffed hush puppies, risotto filled chicken - oh so good! They made the venue feel so comfortable for our guests and the space can easily accommodate 50-400 and still feel intimate. Love, love, love this place!!

We had a beautiful, flawless wedding at the Cotton Room. Michelle and Lauran are very flexible and easy to work with. Everything turned out beautifully. Michelle is a bulldog as a day-of coordinator (which is included when you book the venue) and will make sure everything gets done perfectly. I literally was not concerned about a single thing all night. I would recommend this venue to anyone!

I got married at The Cotton Room this past April and everything turned out GREAT!!! The venue in itself is so beautiful! The food was delicious and my guests really enjoyed themselves. Michelle and her team were very responsive to my questions and even accomodated last minute requests that we had. The table linens were of great quality and matched our wedding colors perfectly. The exposed brick interior (and exterior) really made our wedding photos pop! I highly recommend the Cotton Room for weddings or any other event.

The Cotton Room in Durham was the perfect space for my wedding reception. My fiance and I had looked at similar venues before coming across the Cotton Room right after it had opened. The space itself is gorgeous. The exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and tall windows overlooking downtown Durham are elegant, but also unique. We were looking for somewhere that brought something different to the table than a country club or hotel ballroom and this is certainly that.

The main selling point of the Cotton Room, however, is their outstanding service. My event coordinator Jenn was with me from the moment she answered the phone the first time I called for information to the very end. We booked the venue a year and a half before the wedding and even though the event was a ways off, she was still available to me to answer questions very early on. Even when I would happen to run into her outside of a work environment, she remembered my name and wedding date and would stop to talk to me.

The food was delicious and we were provided with a variety of excellent choices that were fancy, but still reasonably priced. The fact that the food is prepared there also means that it comes out fresh and delicious and it is so convenient not to have to add yet another vendor to your to-do list. The event coordinators at the Cotton Room also helped us find other vendors such as our florist and band.

We had an amazing time at our wedding and everything turned out even better than we had expected. I highly recommend this venue to anyone getting married in the Triangle!

As soon as I entered The Cotton Room, I knew it was THE VENUE I would have my wedding and reception at. The space is just GORGEOUS (when I first saw it the room was empty) so I knew it would be even better once it was set up. We chose a white, black and green apple color scheme for our wedding and it turned out amazing! It looked elegant and the ambiance of the room added so much.
We worked closely with Michelle throughout the planning process. She helped us make decorating (linens, set up, etc) and catering decisions, and when we were second guessing our choices she was willing to tell us her TRUE opinion on them. She was TERRIFIC! You will be in good hands if you choose The Cotton Room.
On the wedding day, we worked closely with Michelle and her assistant, John, to make sure it all went as planned. They were easy to work with and willing to do anything to make day alll we wanted it to be. Since the wedding, we have received many compliments on the venue and catering. They really enjoyed the cocktail hour hor d'oeuvres that included BBQ hushpuppy bites, grilled cheese and tomato soup shooters and asian fusion scallop bites! They were delish.
If you are considering having your wedding at The Cotton Room I would say go for it! They will work with you to create a memorable experience that you will never want to end or forget. Thanks to all The Cotton Room staff for making my wedding day so special.

The Cotton Room is a FABULOUS venue to hold your wedding ceremony & reception. We could not have been more pleased with our daughter's wedding that was recently held at this historic site. The owner, Michelle Aldred, and her assistant, John, were so well organized and so willing to please, it made the wedding almost effortless. We received rave reviews from our guests about the wonderful food, especially the tomato soup shooters with grilled cheese bites and the BBQ Hushpuppies. You couldn't get enough of them! With fall approaching and the sun going down early, the room took on a feel all its own with the crystal chandeliers we had (yes an added expense, but truly worth the cost), the floral arrangements with hanging tea lights and the candles on the table. We had many comments that described the room as "magical". As you can see, I can't rave enough about The Cotton Room. I would highly recommend having your wedding at this venue as you surely won't be disappointed. Book early as I hear they are already taking reservations for 2012.

The Cotton Room was the perfect venue for our reception. The room looked so beautiful. My guest couldn't beleive it when they walked in. Jenn and Michelle were so easy and fun to work with. They both captured my vision and turned the room into the reception of my dreams. I had some older guest attending and the staff were so accomodating of their needs. Michelle and Jenn even designed a special menu for a few vegetarian guests. If I could give 10 stars on here I would for this vendor!

Michelle Aldred and the Cotten Room, not only did everything I asked them to for a very reasonable price but they provided things I didn't even know I needed. The Cotton Room did an amazing job for our wedding! Amalia was very helpful with everything from the floor plan down to helping me establish a timeline for the big day. Emails were always responded to within 2 business days. I arranged all of my flowers (fresh flowers) for the wedding and she allowed me to bring the centerpieces the day before which helped me out a lot since I live in Raleigh and was getting my hair done in Louisburg the next day. Our wedding was at 11:30am and she was there before 6:30am. She helped keep us on schedule even during pre-season pics, which is hard to do with a wedding party of 20. And our wedding actually started on time! The food was beyond delicious, especially the donut flambe station. We received so many compliments on not only the food, decor, and drinks, but the service as well. The biggest thing is that there was a wedding there later that day after ours and they didn't make us feel rushed at all when our event ended.

The Cotton Room is a beautiful venue staffed by warm and professional people.

We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day, thanks in large part to Michelle and Lauran’s help. Though we were not their only clients, they made us feel special and did everything they could to make sure the day went smoothly and the whole event was memorable.

They made planning our event relaxed, fun, and easy. We especially appreciated that the Cotton Room was all-inclusive but still flexible enough to accommodate some of the DIY elements we wanted, such as bringing in our own flowers and decorating a wedding canopy earlier on the day of the ceremony. The staff was incredibly helpful in this regard. The cooks made space in the walk-in for our flowers the day before, despite a busy schedule. Lauran even came in on her day off to check if everything was going well.

Our wedding was the last one of the weekend, but you never would have known it. We had both the ceremony and reception in the same space at the center of the room. The staff was incredibly efficient at shifting the room during the cocktail hour. The food and drink was fantastic and skillfully served. Our friends and family are still raving about the food, especially the hush puppy hors d'oeuvres!

We felt the staff’s attention to detail was very high. Nothing was overlooked. At the end of the night, Michelle even had all of our presents on a cart and helped us load up the car.

We wanted to give our wedding an authentically “Durham” feel, celebrating the history, food, and culture of our little city. The Cotton Room was the perfect place for our wedding.

May Wedding

I had my wedding at the Cotton room in May and it was amazing! I fell in love with the space the first time we toured and it lived up to every expectation. The getting ready suites are so amazing for getting ready on site - My bridesmaids could not stop talking about how amazing the set up was. The venue staff is so nice and helpful. I have no regrets about choosing the Cotton room for our wedding.

Excellent Venue!!

We had the BEST experience at the Cotton Room! The space is BEAUTIFUL. Also, from the moment we booked our "day- of" coordinator helped us stay organized with planning she kept our wedding day running so smoothly. Planning is also easier with lots of in-house services and recommendations for vendors not associated with the venue. I would recommend to any bride!

I got married at the Cotton Room on a Sunday Oct 8, 2017. When I say it was stunning, I mean it was stunning. It was the perfect place to have a wedding. The food was superb, the service for that day was outstanding. The wait staff and servers were fantastic. Becky Chapman was our coordinator and she was just great. She followed everything that I presented to her to the letter. If something happen, she was right there to contact you in a timely manner. The only complaint I had was there was no air in the grooms suite, but they were able to sustain without it. The rustic look was a nice touch and my guest are still talking about how stunning the wedding and reception was. They are still talking about the food.

Wow, I can't say enough about The Cotton Room and Shelley and the staff!
They made everything easy and fun every step of the way. Shelley was there immediately through email whenever I needed her! When we had meetings to plan things, she made things easy and was also so helpful. She's so professional.

The day of was gorgeous and so easy, they pulled all my ideas and DIY stuff into the most beautiful place I've ever seen! We had our ceremony and reception here, and it was so romantic. The drapes and candles honestly took my breath away. The food was delicious and if there were any problems, I had no idea! It was the most beautiful day and it was flawless. I wish I could relive it all over again. Thank you Shelley, and the Cotton Room! You made all my dreams come true!

I cannot rave enough about The Cotton Room. Not only it is a truly beautiful and unique space, but the staff worked hard to be flexible and supportive of us throughout the whole experience. This was particularly true when Hurricane Joaquin was threatening the area, and my ceremony had to be moved inside last minute. Seriously - lifesavers. And the food - wow, the compliments keep coming.

We were 100% happy with our wedding at he Cotton Room! Everything was done beautifully and professionally, and our guests complimented us all night on the food, service, and decor. We had a June wedding, and the room looked light, airy, and summery. Our coordinator, Shelley Clayton, did an amazing job making sure everything ran smoothly before and during the wedding. She accommodated all of our requests with no problem, and made sure we had a fun, stress-free time at our wedding.

The Cotton Room was the perfect venue for our reception! We have lived in Durham for several years now, and wanted our wedding to be somewhere with a local feel - this renovated building with exposed brick walls and beautiful windows was perfect for that. Throughout our planning process we were transferred between three different wedding coordinators as people left the company, and we weren't always informed of that transfer right away, which is the only reason I'm giving them 4/5 for responsiveness. I'm SOOO glad we ended up working with Amalia in the end for our tastings and the bulk of our other decisions, she was the best! The food was the best wedding food I've every had (and a lot of our guests thought so too!) and the whole evening ran very smoothly - if there were any hiccups along the way we didn't find out about them or have to deal with them. For the planning process their list of approved/preferred vendors was great, it really helped us to find vendors that were familiar with the space. We wanted to pick a site that coordinated the food, linens, decorations, etc., and the Cotton Room was perfect for this.

The Cotton Room is an absolutely amazing venue, which is why we chose it. The staff was amazing to work with and accommodated me and my requests/changes up until the weekend of the wedding with no problems. The room has several large windows with hardwood floors and wood pillars that really make the space amazing (especially since you don't need to decorate the room much). In addition to the appearance of the room, The Cotton Room provides amazing food. My guest were surprised to come to a wedding where the food actually tasted good!! I absolutely loved having my wedding here and I would definitely recommend The Cotton Room to anyone looking to have an event in the Raleigh/Durham area. Also, I would encourage anyone interested in The Cotton Room to attend one of their quarterly open houses to taste the food and to see how the space can be decorated.

We had our reception on June 28, 2014 at The Cotton Room and worked with Amalia as our planner. Words cannot describe how PERFECT our reception turned out. Amalia is so creative and brought my vision to life… she didn’t meet my expectations, she exceeded them. She understood our “style” and matched it with every detail – she thought of EVERYTHING. Apps and cocktails were waiting for us in the bridal suite when we arrived as promised. We got to see the room prior to guests’ arrival – WOW – My jaw dropped. Every detail we had discussed was executed to perfection. The chalkboards (hand done by Amalia!) were exquisitely written, layout of cocktail “lounge” spot on, the floral vignettes perfectly placed, room overflowing with candles (as requested) and so many other extra touches! Amalia gets a A++. She steered me in the right direction and her suggestions (like adding the hanging modern chandeliers over the cocktail tables) truly made our wedding over the top GORGEOUS (special thanks for surprising us with a bottle of our Prosecco and a large pizza in the cab after our sparkler sendoff!). Compliments to Chef Dodd on the best wedding food EVER! My guests could not stop raving and we are New Yorkers and know good food. Beyond taste, the food is presented elegantly and modernly – talk about attention to detail! In-house floral was AMAZING. My bouquet was STUNNING and the in-room floral was like my Pinterest board came to life. I found the prices to be better compared to other local florists too. ALL the staff was phenomenal (esp Shelley who was so attentive, catering to my every need and even helped me put my Converse on!). As Amalia promised, we’d never have to ask for anything. My drink was magically replenished without ever asking. The Cotton Room is a beautiful and unique space that can be made your own. They have a phenomenal stock of décor to choose from. I couldn’t have been happier with how my wedding turned out.

We had our reception at The Cotton Room and it was AMAZING! Everything was beyond expectation and our guests raved all night and well past the wedding day about how great everything was. I don't know how many times we heard how this was the most beautiful venue they've been to for a wedding. The food was delicious and our guests made several return trips to the buffet line. Service was excellent. Their in-house florist, Flair, did our centerpieces and they were gorgeous! Michelle and the whole staff were great to work with and made sure everything went smoothly that night. The all-inclusive aspect was great and so convenient especially since I didn't have a wedding planner. Couldn't be happier and can't say enough good things about The Cotton Room!

The Cotton Room is an amazing venue to have your wedding ceremony and reception. The site itself is beautiful with brick walls, large arched windows, and wood floors. It is a renovated textile warehouse with some of the original workings still in the ceiling. The place is beautiful in the daylight and becomes spectacular as the sun goes down.

The services provided are set up to be all-inclusive, as The Cotton Room is owned by Triangle Catering. You get the location, catering, tables and chairs (chiavari chairs), cocktail tables, bar, lounge furniture, linens (lots to choose from), and coordination services on the day of. It really makes the bride's job easy! The food is delicious!! I liked everything I tried at the tasting! On the day of, they were able to cater to special dietary needs that we did not anticipate. I even loved the way that they came out of the kitchen and provided dinner service one table at a time.

I worked with Michelle, one of the owners, for planning my event. When you are meeting with her in person, she is absolutely amazing. She and her team will do anything to help you make your event perfect. I relied on email for communication between meetings, and did not find that to be the best way to communicate with her. Nevertheless, I had no doubt that things would be wonderful on the day of.

I highly recommend The Cotton Room as the venue for your wedding ceremony and reception!

We had a great experience working with Jeriann and the rest of the Cotton Room team. My husband and I both live out of state, so most of our planning was over email or phone. Jeriann was extremely responsive with all the questions we had, but also made sure to keep us on track by letting us know what she needed from us. We also wanted a special menu for our wedding and they let us use a local Indian restaurant to have our event catered. The folks at the Cotton Room are very professional and know their stuff when it comes to weddings and special events. And the venue itself is STUNNING. Our guests loved it.

Great venue and value

The Cotton Room was the perfect choice for our wedding! We chose to have our ceremony at a nearby church but the space was perfect for our guests (~200) for cocktail hour and dinner. The drinks and food were excellent. While we opted not to have a private tasting for food, the sip session was really nice. The open houses were a nice chance to sample some Of the offerings from the menu of offerings. On the night of our wedding the food was amazing!
We loved the look of the venue and how you could personalize with linens and decor. It was great having the dance floor as the center of the event space and our dance floor was so much fun throughout the night.
It’s also an incredible value as far as chairs, tables, cutlery, etc. as so many nice things are included in part of the fee.
There are some very nice bride and groom suites, however due to limitations in timing (for the evening event booking, access to the suites starts at 1 p), we didn’t really use them for getting ready. In order to have access to the suites starting at 8 am, we would have needed double the venue fee. In the grand scheme, this wasn’t a huge deal.
On the night of the event, the staff was incredibly professional and helpful. Everything went very smoothly.

We booked The Cotton Room after we had been to an open house and fell in love with the space. Owned by a catering company you will pay for that convenience and are unable to bring in your own caterer or alcohol. It is one less thing to worry about, but you should know in advance how it works. The space is beautiful. They allowed me to hang up market lights I had bought for our ceremony space and it was amazing. We used a LOT of candles. Shelley was our coordinator and she worked with our own planner to make our day a success. They are a busy venue so there can be lapses in communication but overall I didn't have any major issues. The only complaint I heard from guests was that the waitstaff would take glasses off the table before they were empty so they had to go get drinks more often than they would have otherwise. We had amazing food and great compliments on it. The space photographs well and they allowed me to do bridal portraits in the event space which was a great option. We would definitely do it again and choose the same place.

We absolutely loved our venue, The Cotton Room. Its exposed brick, wooden columns, giant windows, and beautiful hardwood floors make for amazing scenery and hopefully amazing photos. Our coordinator Shelley was incredibly helpful and delivered everything we asked for. The menu, handled by Triangle Catering, was amazing. We're still getting compliments on our food, our party, our drinks - everything! This venue has all that you need so it makes a great one-stop shopping experience. All you do is book the venue and right away you have catering, linens, tables, chairs, flatware, and alcohol managed. The price will vary depending on the time of day, day of the week, and menu/booze options - the end result was worth every penny.

I have worked with Michelle and the Cotton Room for several years now. My guest always walk away loving the venue and talking about the food till the next event. We had both of our daughters receptions here. Our guest love coming here. One of the most popular foods is the Pork Puppies. If you have not tried them, you must.

I recently got married there and my wedding was exactly what I wanted. I am a very organized, OCD type planner , so that also helped, that I was all over everything and I hired a wonderful wedding coorindator as well. I also had the luck that our wedding was the 6:30pm wedding and no one had booked the venue for the morning wedding. We had the bridal suite/grooms room earlier then usual.
Everything went wonderfully, the room was set up with all the correct linens, lights, etc and it looked beautiful. The food was great, we went for our tasting and it was just as good the tasting.
I loved the venue, it was expensive but you get what you pay for, they have lots of hands on coordination once you get within about 4-6 months of the wedding (there isn't much coordination earlier than that from their end, nothing much they can do). They will give you a list of recommended vendors if you want it (which I did) and I used a majority of those vendors after speaking with them and it helped things go well, everyone knew each other & the cotton room and that helped make things go smoother too. They were easy to work with, very accomodating and provided a wonderful place for people to come and party at our wedding.
Everyone who attended our wedding LOVED it and thought it was a great venue and a great party! If you have the money and want to spend it I recommend them.

This place can be transformed into any style wedding you can think of. The 'room' was simply amazing as far as aesthetics, it really can't be beat for indoor weddings. The food was better than most weddings I've been to. Due to the popularity of the place I'm thinking that's why the response time is a bit tardy. Keep in mind that brides planning their wedding can be a little too chatty, I probably was! They are super busy and popular so plan early! As far as one other review mentioning no place for the bride to get ready....no more! They have a huge bridal suite fit for a queen and a smaller, but more than enough for the groomsmen. If we had to go back to the planning stage we would positively use this place again! I would have given 5 stars on all but in all honesty I feel 4.5 is a fair assessment.

Overall, our experience at the Cotton Room was wonderful. My disclaimer on the "Responsiveness" score is that we first worked with an employee that ended up leaving the Cotton Room. We were not notified and were left without a point of contact in the beginning stages of our planning. We also had an issue where my husband and I both were called multiple times in ONE DAY for a pending payment. This employee was new, and we were apologized to. However, once we were assigned to Amalia, our coordinator - it was absolutely fantastic. She was a pleasure to work with and incredibly responsive via email and phone. We appreciated her help so much.

My only other complaint is that they charge extra for using a credit card. Not a big deal, but was something we were annoyed with when making that payment.

Our tasting was great as well - the food was very yummy and not over the top expensive. I highly recommend the beef dish - fantastic. The alcohol selection is also really high end and very expansive. Lots of wonderful local beers and great wines.

The venue is just gorgeous - the pictures here turned out wonderfully and we had so many comments from guests about how beautiful the room looked. I have zero regrets in choosing this venue after not looking at any others. The first impression was enough to sell me. It was a truly special place to have our reception.

Beautiful, expansive venue with lots of options for set up and variations to the traditional wedding/ceremony. All my guests loved the event and felt a personal touch, which was encouraged by Michelle & Lauran. They were ALOT of fun to work with, easy going and provided lots of fun input & feedback. The space does require a lot to decorate, but itself alone provides alot of ambiance. THe food is excellent and the choices amazing. The all inclusive decor with so many options really makes planning easy. Also, knowing we could rely on Michelle and her staff made the day alot smoother with little to no stress. I will miss my planning meetings with Michelle!

The Cotton Room in Durham, NC created my dream wedding! I wanted simple casual with style and The Cotton Room delivered. The venue alone with no decorations would have made a great wedding... wonderful lighting (your photographer will love you for it), great exposed ceilings... just a wonderful place to have a wedding or any event. Not only was the venue great but the food was equally wonderful! My guests are still talking about the food I had which does not compare to any place locally. I have continued to use Triangle Catering for food functions within my workplace! The Cotton Room is the best - you won't be sorry you had your wedding there!

The Cotton Room is an absolutely beautiful and unique venue, we loved having our wedding there and would do it again. However, there is no good place for brides to get ready in private, which should be taken into consideration. Also, the staff is not always responsive to requests and after the wedding they were not very accommodating with some issues we had a the wedding. But, overall a wonderful place, wonderful food and a very special place to have an event.

My husband and I had a wonderful wedding! The Cotton Room is a stunning venue. We opted for the daytime slot and a “brunch buffet” reception; we couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome. There were a few bumps along the way in regards to communication (we had trouble meeting with our coordinator for the initial deposit and emails were not always responded to a timely manner ie more than 1-2 business days) but some WW reviews and google reviews allude to this so we were somewhat prepared. All the “flair” was gorgeous; from the flowers to the linens. Our vision truly came to fruition. Even though some of the food we selected was not featured at an open house tasting, it was delicious and worth the risk to select something we hadn't tried. Our coordinators and the Cotton Room staff were quite attentive on the day of and not a single detail was overlooked! Overall we would definitely recommend!

We had a roller coaster of an experience with The Cotton Room. At the beginning, we had a lot of disappointing interactions with them- disorganization, lack of responsiveness, terrible customer service. It was very frustrating because this venue is absolutely breath-taking. After we confronted them rather directly after months of service way below the expected level, we heard directly from upper-level management and they were VERY apologetic. It seems like they had a lot of administrative turnover during that time, and unfortunately for us the people we had been in contact with were not their best employees. After that point, they were falling all over themselves to help us, and we were reassigned to a new event coordinator- Amalia, and she was fantastic! She helped us a lot with details of our event, planning, choosing vendors, and on the actual day of the event she was great! She anticipated everything, was very professional, and she made the event run so seamlessly we had to do nothing. The food here is also amazing- but very pricey. Everyone raved about the food, but we definitely paid a lions share for it. Having good food was something that was really important to is. Also, they did a specialty cocktail- purple hibiscus margarita- and it was really cute and includeded with our bar package. Overall, our experience with them was very good and we had an amazing wedding, but it was filled with a lot of frustration and stress at times. This venue is beautiful and romantic, and exactly the right feel for who we are as a couple. Hopefully they've made changes based on feedback we gave them and will provide excellent service for all of their couples in the future.

The Cotton Room is a beautiful venue and the food is outstanding! The majority of our guests were coming from out of town, so they raved about the “Southern charm” of the venue. Ariana, our venue coordinator, was patient, thoughtful, and wonderful to work with. Since we were planning from out of state, she made things easier during the process and definitely went above and beyond for us. The Cotton Room’s waitstaff was fantastic--friendly and polite, and really took care of us and our guests throughout the night of our reception.
While we are still thrilled to have had our wedding at The Cotton Room, their customer service could use some improvements, especially with communication. The groom was frequently left off of emails, the couple was asked repeatedly about their parents' contact information despite them not being financially involved in the wedding, and we spent some unnecessary amount of time arguing about contradictions in our venue contract. One of the most frustrating incidents was The Cotton Room calling the bride the day of the wedding asking for her father's contact information to discuss billing questions. Again, all necessary billing information had been provided previously. One other note: The Cotton Room traditionally has Open Houses in lieu of tastings. These events are a good opportunity to meet other vendors, try some of the food, and see the event space decorated with various options. If you have a chance to do so, we would recommend attending. However, sometimes The Cotton Room doesn't provide much notice of these events, so if you are coming from out of town, it can be tricky to plan in advance. Also, we found that most of the food served at the event is not necessarily what one picks as the main meal(s). It was mostly some hors d'oeuvres and "extras" that could be selected (e.g. chicken & waffles station) as part of your meal package.

This venue is gorgeous!! The food is quite expensive, and if you book it for reception you have to buy their food, so we are using it for ceremony only and doing the reception at my home church so that we get the beautiful pictures at the nice venue and then can do the reception elsewhere. The venue does not need much dressing up, which is nice, and no lighting since there are so many big tall beautiful windows lining the room and it is a day wedding. There are white curtains they can put up in various ways that are very pretty but we thought it an expensive unnecessary addition since we are only using it for ceremony. People to work with were not always super prompt and it was initially confusing which of two people we were working with, but over all it was good. No sound system is built in so you need to pay extra or have a DJ bring equipment or something for microphones even just for the pastor.

The Cotton Room is a gorgeous venue and the food is outstanding! We were very happy to have our wedding here, but I will say that their customer service is somewhat lacking. We had a lot of ups and downs in the planning process with them. This is an all inclusive venue, so you are assigned a wedding planner with your package. After some rocky communication to start with, I didn't hear back from my planner for over a month. When I finally called, a new employee answered and informed me that my planner had left the company a couple months ago and someone would be in touch. Very stressful! Once they knew I had found out, their office coordinator, Courtney, did get in touch with me and apologized and got me a new planner right away. Courtney was very accommodating and responsive and I really appreciate how she handled the situation. Based on other reviews I have read, it seems this has happened to other brides in the past, so hopefully they will figure out how to handle things better in the future.

Our new planner, Ariana, was wonderful! She made things so easy for the rest of our planning process and definitely went above and beyond for us. We loved their quarterly tasting events. It helped us make our food selections and was a lot of fun! They really pull things together beautifully on the day of. They even threw in some extra flower arrangments for us. Ariana was such a pro - she had everything we needed and things went off without a hitch! Their waitstaff was fantastic. They were so friendly and really took care of the groom and I throughout the night.

Overall we were very happy with how things turned out. With the amount of money you spend at this venue, you do expect a certain level of customer service. While we did have a rocky start with the Cotton Room, they did make our wedding night very special.
