Great wedding ceremony and reception venue

Loved working with this team and doing multiple walkthroughs. The all in one package for food, drinks, ceremony, reception, and parking made it so easy. We had the whole place to ourselves! Lots of walking distance hotels nearby.

Fantastic location!

I cannot recommend the City Club highly enough! It was very important to us that our guests be comfortable: out of DC's hot and rainy summer, not cramped into too small of a space, etc. We were also looking for a venue that provided as many services as possible, including catering and an on-site coordinator. The City Club more than met our requirements! We knew we were making a good decision after meeting with Morgan, who was one of the event coordinators at the time. Our only moment of doubt during the year leading up to our wedding was our transition to Aleks when Morgan left—how could anyone be as fantastic as Morgan?!—but we soon realized how right Morgan was when she told us that we'd be in good hands with Aleks.

The City Club makes everything so easy by providing you with what you need. Why hassle with bringing in chairs, tablecloths, napkins, a dance floor, etc.—not to mention a caterer—to a venue from somewhere else? Getting married at the City Club will take all of that off your to-do list and allow you to focus on other things. Their bar packages were the most reasonable of any venue we looked at in DC. We worked with Morgan and then Aleks to put together a delicious menu that pleased everyone, vegan and gluten-free guests included. The entire staff was fantastic and really helped everyone enjoy the evening.

The City Club works with you to bring your vision to life (there is only a very short list of rules that might limit you). Aleks handled all of our outside vendors on the day of, and of course made sure her staff were on top of things. Between Aleks and some delegation of tasks to the wedding party, we did not need to hire a wedding planner! In fact if we had hired someone I really don't know what they would have even done that day. So if you are looking to avoid hiring an outside planner as we were, the City Club is a great choice.

In short, the City Club is a beautiful location, good value, and a great decision if you are getting married in the DC area!

Perfect DC Reception Venue!

Going into our wedding planning, we knew that we wanted to have a very DC wedding and The City Club of Washington provided us with everything that we could have asked for and more! Being that it is only a few blocks away from the National Mall and just down the street from The Capitol, the moment we first visited The Club, we knew this venue would be perfect for our DC wedding reception. Aleks and the rest of the Club Staff were very attentive and accommodating with any requests or questions that we had and we were so pleased that all the food and drink as well as tables, chairs, glassware, stemware, silverware, plates, tablecloths and napkins were provided by The Club. There were many times that we asked if we could drop by The City Club with our vendors, family, or just the two of us to either meet with Aleks or to envision details of our Cocktail Hour and Reception. Each time, the City Club accommodated our work schedules and made time after hours for these many drop-ins.

For our food tasting, The City Club provided a full complete meal for ourselves and both sets of parents where we were able to taste every single item we requested from the menu. They answered all of our questions and were very accommodating to our family members with severe allergies, including gluten-free and vegetarian options.

In the days leading up to the wedding, Aleks was on-call for any last-minute schedule and detail questions that we had. On Friday morning, we were able to drop off all of our cocktail and reception items and on the day of the wedding, Aleks and The City Club team were there every step of the way and ensured that our cocktail and reception ran absolutely perfect! Having a July wedding, we knew it was going to be hot, and the City Club ensured that the AC was blasting and kept everyone cool throughout the night of dancing. Aleks even set up the board room for the bridal party and ourselves with water and snacks and a place to sit and re-group before the reception. At the end of the night, we were able to do a grand exit on the streets of DC with the Washington Monument in the background. If you’re looking for a DC wedding venue which provides great customer service, fantastic location and value, then The City Club of Washington is your place!

City Club of Washington Put on an Incredible Event!

The City Club of Washington DC put on an amazing event for my daughter's wedding. The facilities were top notch, the food was awesome, the service and attention to detail was incredible! Cassandra was very helpful every step of the way and responded to all our needs. She customized the menu for us and made sure everyone on her staff understood everything that needed to happen on the wedding day. She met with us many times to go over any details and was very prompt about replying back to our numerous questions by email. Although she wasn't able to assist during the wedding day, Morgan was there for the rehearsal and knew exactly what to do.
The venue itself is very unique in its layout and very well suited for hosting a wedding. We feel very fortunate to have found a ceremony and reception venue and catering services all with The City Club of Washington. Considering the location and other convenient qualities about the venue, we feel that we received more than what we paid for.

We had a wonderful experience working with the City Club of DC for our wedding. We were looking for a venue that was "affordable for DC" and could accommodate a smaller group (around 75) for both ceremony and reception. The staff (shout out to Cassandra) were very helpful with the planning process and working within our budget. The venue itself is conveniently located next to a metro station and is attached to a parking garage (we also used a shuttle service). They handled the catering/bar service, organized chair rentals for ceremony, and provided many of the extra items. The food was delicious, all staff were friendly, and we had a wonderful wedding! Would recommend this venue for future events.

Morgan Webb, was OUTSTANDING to work with. s an event planner, I all know that weddings can come with many changes as well as challenges, but no matter what curveball was tossed at us, Morgan seamlessly handled each one with grace and professionalism. Morgan was fantastic making sure everything was perfect. The breath taking venue was everything we wanted. Chef Lee and his team are second to none. Customer oriented and outside vendors (cake, flowers & DJ) commented on the ease of working with Morgan.

Words can not describe how amazing this place is. We had the pleasure of working with Morgan, She not only made the experience seamless and personable, she and the staff of The City Club of Washington went above and beyond on our wedding day. Not once did I worry about any of the small details on our wedding day. Every single one of our guest said we had the best food ever!

The club is located in DC steps away from Metro Center Station. Walking distance to many hotels and museums, which helps if you have out of town guest who like to explore.

We had a beautiful wedding day that couldn’t have been any better!
Morgan was fantastic, she did such a great job planning and coordinating our wedding even leading up to the few minutes before the ceremony.
She was always willing to change the menu and food selections when we didn’t like something. She even was able to plan our rehearsal dinner just a few days before the event!

Thank you again Morgan, we cannot express in words how special you made our day.

The City Club has a great team who helped make our wedding the night we envisioned for our guests. I worked with Cassandra and Mariah, who were ROCK STARS for us. The team even made sure to set up their Christmas tree arrived in time so that we could put our ornament favors on it!

Working with City Club was extremely easy and their flexibility on vendors made the coordination a breeze! The catering was provided by their in house kitchen and everything was delicious. I did have an issue with the handling of my cake, which was delivered by outside vendor. I'm not sure the venue team had proper instructions for how to thaw and serve for ideal texture and taste. We had a dummy with fondant on display and sheet cake for guests. I was very disappointed in how my guests' slices tasted. If you have an external cake brought in, make sure the team at CC has instructions for thawing.

It's also extremely reasonably priced (for now). The location fee (for non members) is very reasonable/affordable for D.C. Prior to my fiancé finding this spot, we were looking at restaurants. I'm so glad we found the City Club and hosted our event there. It's a great venue for a reception after a church wedding, but they also have a gorgeous atrium that could be used for a ceremony.

Perfect if you want a traditional indoor space with a ballroom.

The City Club of Washington hosted our 10 year Vow renewal. Excellent customer service, food and the establishment was phenomenal. A very unique location to host any event. Parking is available and not too pricy. The facility natural beauty reduces decor needs since there is natural sunlight and a water fountain. The celebration was EPIC!!! If you are looking for a unique experience, choose The City Club of Washington. This is a phenomenal establishment with superb customer service!

My daughter & her fiancee went to at least 12 venues before deciding on The City Club of Washington. Best decision we ever made. The food and staff were amazing. The venue itself is breathtaking. We had a great time. Hats off to Mariah for going the extra mile for their function. Don't hesitate.

I never would have guessed I could afford a wedding in the middle of DC. Everything was so expensive and I almost gave up my search when I discovered the City Club of Washington website. I couldn't believe this gorgeous space was within the budget.

The final production was more beautiful than I had imagined. I worked with Mariah (Event Coordinator) she was responsive, helpful and cheerful. She keep me on track with subtle gestures and open dialogue. It was an amazing experience and never once did I feel stress or pressure.

My guest all raved about the space and the food and really just had a wonder time. Thanks to the staff and the City Club for a job well done.

Mariah at the City Club of Washington made the day exactly what we were hoping for. We came in with some unusual requests, family style service, a menu that combined Cuban and Italian cuisine, long banquet tables without seating cards, and some last minute decision making. Mariah worked with the staff and chef to make everything we wanted a reality. The staff at service were fun and friendly ensuring that everyone was having a great time. My Grandmother still asks about the bartender Toni.

After looking for venues in Connecticut and Washington, DC, the City Club was the only venue that fit our budget, accommodated our requests, and didn't require a large guest list.

The City Club of Washington is the best value in the city, hands down. The venue is gorgeous, the service was fantastic and the food was really good. I had to plan the wedding from California, so I was so happy to find a venue that was all inclusive (really!) so I had one point of contact. Having everything in one place meant I didn't have to worry about transport and logistics between the ceremony and reception. Mariah works really hard and she made sure everything came together perfectly. She went out of her way to accommodate my requests, even letting me use their wooden wine boxes for my guest cards and order special wine for the head table. It was really amazing coming down that grand staircase and seeing all my loved ones waiting below and I got so many compliments on the beautiful venue, even though I didn't decorate at all. I never thought we could afford such a beautiful venue in the heart of DC.

I can not say enough about the City Club of Washington, Mariah Howes, and the rest of the events team. Everything about our day was perfect and exactly how we envisioned it. Mariah was incredibly helpful and responsive through out our planning process. They were able to accommodate all of our needs and changes as they arose. Our guests loved the convenience and flow of having the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in one place. The convenience of having everything in on location really allowed us to spend time w/ our guests. We were also able to take advantage of the beautiful atrium for pictures before the ceremony and were able to sneak in a few more right after cocktail hour. The food and service were amazing. We were truly able to enjoy everything about our day because we knew that without a doubt the City Club Team had everything handled. Given all that, we still found the venue to be very reasonably priced and the location right at metro center was convenient for both locals and out of town guests. I would recommend the City Club over and over again!

The City Club of Washington is an absolutely wonderful wedding venue; I cannot say enough good things about it. First, it is beautiful and very photogenic. The staircase and fountain provide a gorgeous indoor setting for the ceremony, and I loved how the staircase allowed for a more unique entrance for the bride and wedding party than the traditional walk up the aisle. The Club itself is a classy and elegant space for the cocktail hour and/or reception, and the cost is very reasonable.

The food is incredible. We had reception stations, which provided a large variety of options. The amount of food served was generous, and we received lots of positive feedback about it, including one guest who commented that it was the best wedding food he has ever had. We had a carved sirloin, risotto, seafood, and vegetarian stations. I would highly recommend them all. The seafood station is awesome!

The service was also great. The staff were very professional and friendly. Everything seemed to run perfectly smoothly. Our event coordinator, Mariah, was amazing! We exchanged countless e-mails planning various details of the wedding, and she knew all the right questions to ask in order to cover details that we didn't think of ourselves. She cheerfully took care of all of our requests, including a couple very last-minute ones, which really helped keep any stress and anxiety down. We could not have been happier with our choice to have our wedding at the City Club. Book your wedding with them now!

We were thrilled with our wedding ceremony and reception at the City Club. Casssandra and Mariah were true professionals who took care of every last detail we asked for. The venue is very classy with the wood paneling, exquisite bar, marble, fountain, great DC-themed art decorations. As always, the food at the City Club is top-notch and all of our guests commented as such... not your normal dull wedding fare. Their attention to detail was spectacular - every single minor detail that we requested, they captured without us ever having us to ask again. The chef accommodated us for two tastings as we had some indecision on the appetizers after the first tasting. Their bar manager, Ian, was also very flexible and helpful by special ordering local beers that we wanted vice having all big brand beers, all at no extra cost. One of the highlights of the venue is that they take care of everything for you (food, drink, chairs, tables, linens, ceremony set-up, clean-up, and advice throughout the planning) all of which made planning so much easier. We highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a classy, affordable, and "easy" venue right in the heart of downtown DC.

When I was originally looking at wedding venues, I passed over the City Club of Washington because I assumed that they were outside of my budget. I wound up signing on with another space that seemed to be a better deal. Several months before my wedding, that business closed its doors and cancelled my contract without warning. I don't live in DC, but I had been planning a trip there the following weekend to handle a few wedding errands, so I frantically began calling DC venues, asking if they could fit in an appointment with me. Cassandra at the City Club of Washington really came to my rescue. She immediately impressed me with her knowledge and experience managing wedding venues, and I discovered that City Club is a great value because it is both a beautiful space and a dining club. After Mariah was hired, she took over most of our correspondence, but the transition was seamless, and Mariah proved to also be extremely capable. Both of them are fantastic at managing all the little details and know all the right questions to ask. I actually became grateful that my original venue did not work out because they could not have surpassed the City Club in their level of service.

We were incredibly happy with how my daughter’s wedding turned out and much of the credit goes to The City Club. Cassandra and Mariah were a pleasure to work with, very pleasant, responsive, and well organized. They made the whole process much easier. Physically, The City Club is an excellent venue, we had the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception there and everything flowed seamlessly from one to the other. There are also plenty of rooms for the different functions including rooms for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to gather. The space is very elegant and the food was very good and we received a lot of compliments from our guests. To us it’s a five star venue. One last point: we ended up using their recommendations for the florist, bakery (for the wedding cake), and wedding planner and they were all excellent.

We held our reception at City Club after having the ceremony at a nearby church, and the venue was absolutely beautiful. We received so many compliments from guests on how lovely a space it is, and the staff provided phenomenal service during our event. During the entire planning process, the Club's event planning staff were friendly, extremely quick to respond to emails and phone calls, always helpful, and organized. The whole team was clearly versed in how to manage and execute weddings, and it was wonderful to be able to relax and enjoy the day knowing we were in good hands.

After having trouble with an initial vendor we booked, we were in search again for another venue! The City Club of Washington's sales team is fantastic! Very accommodating, informative, helpful, and responsive! We are thrilled to have chosen the CCW as our venue for our reception and our ceremony! Definitely give them a chance. :) This venue is all inclusive for food, drinks, ceremony space, and the full reception with areas to get ready for both the bride and the groom!

We held our wedding, cocktail hour, and reception at City Club just two weeks ago, and now cannot imagine hosting it anywhere else. The food was to die for. The service? World-class. Elegant does not even begin to do our event justice.

The event staff was responsive, professional, courteous, and took care of everything for us (our engagement was over a year and a half long so we'd been planning with City Club for quite awhile). There was nothing we had to stress over the day of the wedding because everywhere we turned, someone from City Club was ensuring everything was covered. Staff stayed late on occasion to answer our questions.

The entire team was so very kind to us, and their concern for small details and pride in their work shone through - the nicest element being small details we didn't even think of or ask for already taken care of or, in some cases, added to enhance the evening. What other venue would provide this kind of service?

Everyone keeps complimenting us on our wedding day: the details, the decor, the service. City Club made the day better than we could have possible imagined (please note: we had no relationship with/did not know of the City Club prior to booking, and, for those interested, this was for a same-sex wedding).

Cassandra and her staff were awesome. They made my bride and I feel special. They help walked meh through the panning while my bride was out of town. The price for the service they gave us was a real steal. More importantly the food was outstanding. You have to select the crab cakes as part of your menu, you won't regret it.

The quality of the event planning, culinary and service staff could not have been finer. The facility was beautiful. Our wedding could not have been more perfect.

The City Club of Washington was the perfect site for our reception. The facility has beautiful dark wood wainscoting that makes it feel warm and it's in a convenient location in the city. It is quite reasonable priced for a wedding in DC. They worked with us to find an option that fit our budget and modified the menu to accommodate all of our food allergies and dietary preferences. The food was very good as was the service. During the reception they assigned an attendant to my husband and I so that we never had to wait for anything.

The City Club of Washington is THE best place to have your reception in Washington. The venue is cool and upscale without being stuffy, and in a great location. downtown. We didn't use the parking garage. The City Club is closed to outside guests on the weekends, so we had the place to yourselves. It's rather intimate despite being spacious and definitely perfect for a wedding. They absolutely delivered on our big day! The catering was great, the club was immaculate, and our day was flawless. They really took care of us and will take care of you too.

I wanted to plan and hold a wedding in less than 60 days. As you can imagine, most venue's and caterers were not in a position to make this happen in the style my fiance and I wanted. The City Club was perfect for our simple but elegant event. Cassandra and the rest of the staff at the City Club were amazing! The were responsive, flexible and very helpful. We had a one stop event with the wedding and reception in the same venue. With on site garage parking, our guests didn't have to waste time finding parking. The ceremony was held in the beautiful atrium near the fountain and the decorated ballroom looked magical! Most importantly, it all came together stress free - and yes, I made a lot of changes in everything from menu, to bar services, to linen, etc. We received many compliments from our guest on a truly elegant event. Most importantly, my husband and I can look back knowing we had our perfect, simple but elegant wedding.

Cassandra was great and always got back to me in a timely manner which I really appreciated. I had my reception was there and everyone raved about how great the food was and how beautiful it was. They were able to work us to meet our price and it was all really reasonable. I couldn't of asked for anything more!

Truly a great wedding venue, particularly if you are looking for a "city" feel for your wedding. My husband and I really liked how open and unique the ceremony space on the steps is -- at first, I wasn't sure about it, but the more I looked at it the more I liked it. It's also very practical because it's indoors, but there's natural light, so it's wonderful for photos. (One caveat is that it IS downtown Washington, DC, so there's always a chance of some random noise from the large lobby, which happened during our ceremony -- but what can you do? It was still a great wedding.) The bar is wonderful for cocktail hour, and the entire space is laid out well for transitions. Additionally, the City Club is priced very competitively in comparison to other downtown DC venues and hotels. I highly recommend at least getting a quote from them.
Cassandra, the event coordinator, is truly oustanding! Over the 11 months of planning my wedding, I must have emailed her hundreds of questions, and she answered all of them promptly -- sometimes within the hour. She was so accommodating with our many changes, and listened carefully to what we wanted to ensure it happened. The food was great, and the service was top notch as well. We had one minor misunderstanding with charges for several vendor meals, but the City Club was kind enough to write off this charge for us. (I recommend making sure your vendors know whether or not they should accept a meal to avoid confusion.) Our guests all raved about the venue and asked how we had found it! The City Club is a true gem, and we highly recommend it to future couples.

The City Club of Washington was a fantastic site for our ceremony and reception. The appetizers, dinner, and various deserts were delicious. The servers, bartenders, etc were wonderful to all of our guests. We worked with Cassandra to organize our event and she was there to keep things moving the day of too. Cassandra was excelent and helped us as the number of guests increased, the type of food changed, and we altered other details. You will be happy if you choose the City Club of DC as your wedding venue.

There are so many good things to say about City Club. The venue is unique and beautiful and right in the city. Cassandra is incredibly responsive. The food is fine restaurant quality. The chef, waitstaff, club staff, and servers are very friendly and professional. This venue is on the more expensive side but we got exactly what we paid for in a good way.

A few notes if you are considering City Club: opening the parking lot costs extra, no red wine in the atrium during dancing(marble floors), and no bar upstairs(we rented one), the building security guard stays at his desk throughout the ceremony and reception(I really didn't notice).

There is no way I could possibly say enough good things about the City Club. Suzanne there is amazing and was largely responsible for the success of the event, single-handedly. She is organized, attentive, and very calm -- all great things to have around you, not only when planning, but, importantly, the day of. The venue itself is gorgeous and flows wonderfully for weddings. I could really ramble on and on about this, but I'll just say that I could not have imagined getting married anywhere else. If I had it to do all over again, I would always choose the City Club -- maybe we'll even do anniversary parties there!

The City Club and Deb Roth made our wedding day absolutely wonderful. They gave us a beautiful venue, delicious food and superior service. After months of searching for a venue, we stumbled across The City Club's Columbia Square venue. Their Franklin Square location looked more appealing in the photos, but I was unable to coordinate a time to meet. It happened that Deb Roth at the Columbia Square location was available on a weekend we would be visiting from NY, so we decided to give it a shot. The website pictures didn't do it much justice. The club was beautiful and the bathrooms were outstanding (you'd be amazed at how many venues had undesirable bathrooms). What really sold us though, was Deb. She was wonderfully professional; level-headed, courteous and amazingly accommodating. Our budget was modest for the DC area, but she assured us we would be able to work with it. No matter how flustered I felt, Deb was always calm and focused. A trait not to be underestimated in your event coordinator. I'd like to return to list the details of the food, as they surpassed our expectations. For now, I'll say this... everyone at City Club was awesome!

We had our wedding at the City Club. It was a very nice experience.

The over all price is fair and the venue was impressive. I was looking for a ceremony venue that allows me to have a dramatic bridal entrance and nothing could beat the grand marble staircase. We felt any decoration would be unnecessary and we hired a harpist and let the music to fill the air. This setting allowed the photographer to shoot from many different angles. To quote our photographer Deb Lindsey: "...In the building adjacent to the Warner Theater, it's an interesting space with an endless atrium. Another cool feature was the industrial looking scaffolding inside the building that glowed green at night. The photos of the two of them by the fountain later in the evening turned out to be some of my favorites." In addition, thanks to the venue, the ceremony wasn't interrupted by the rain.

The event planner, Cassandra, was very helpful and thoughtful along the process. She put much thought into details and made sure the whole process went well (we didn't have another specialist or wedding planner). She worked with all of our vendors and things just magically turned out the right way. For example, we didn't get a cake stand but Cassandra managed to set the cake high and beautifully. Finally, the food was good and they were able to let us bring our dessert.

We got married in October 2017 and City Club of Washington was such an amazing host for our wedding! We absolutely loved everything! From the day we toured the location until the day of our wedding, City Club and all of the staff made sure we had a night to remember!

An enchanting, intimate and unique venue in the heart of D.C. filled with surprising details and top elegance. The food was also delectable and nicely sized and the service was excellent.

Cassandra Centers was awesome. She kept me on task and was very patient considering I do not live in DC. The staff was very attentive and helpful. We enjoyed our wedding so much that every time we go back to DC we visit!

We had our wedding here on 4/16/16 and LOVED it! Mariah was an incredibly helpful planner throughout the whole process, and we could not have gotten everything done without her! We rented out all three ballrooms (they are not that big separately) to make for one big ballroom to accommodate our 135 guests. The big beautiful waterfall and the stately wood paneling certainly made for beautiful pictures! The food was delicious! We probably could have gone without lighting because the lighting there is gorgeous as long as they dim them. A huge plus was how they allow you to extend your wedding for longer than the typical 4 hours, which definitely kept us from feeling rushed. Also, there is a garage that comes right up to the ballroom floor, which obviously is very convenient. We had so many compliments on the venue and are very happy we chose to have our reception here!

Event planner was amazing to work with! The space was gorgeous as was the price! Really enjoyed it. Only complaint would be that the wait staff were a bit inattentive during the event - not distributing cake or lighting candles.

We loved this location right in downtown of DC. There are many hotels nearby and the building is right next to Metro Center. The feel of the Club was very rich, with dark wood, a beautiful fountain, and a marble staircase. The setting is not utilized much for weddings, but the staff is very well trained as they do lots of business events and dinners. The cost was low compared to all the other nice locations we looked at in DC. Additionally, there is a discount if a member will sponser you. We worked with Maria at the City Club and our experience varied. She was great at our initial meetings and on the day of the wedding, but we were a little frustrated during the last few months before the wedding when it took multiple emails and phone calls to get in touch with her. We were somewhat disappointed that the beverage director appeared willing to work with us and change out some of the wines on our drink list, but the charges that he wanted for the changes were completely outrageous. In the end, it was fine because the wines included in the package pretty good. The bar set-up was good and they even allowed us to request some specialty cocktails to include with our bar service at no extra charge.

very pleasant to deal with and competent personnel - limitations are impossed by physical facilities, i.e., size of rooms, etc. which are beyond personnel control. In general it was a very pleasant experience . I would recommend it to friends and acquaintances.
