Would highly recommend The Cheney Place - we hosted both our ceremony and reception there and had a great experience. From initial planning meetings to confirming final details, their staff was on top of everything and worked hard to ensure our wedding day went smoothly! We loved being able to select pieces to fit our style/vision from their warehouse, enjoyed the ease of planning with their team, loved the quality of the photobooth included in the design suite, and the overall vibe/layout of their building for each wedding day element (getting ready rooms, first look areas, etc.). We also appreciated their staff coordinating with all our vendors and setting up/tearing down our items as that was a big selling point for us. Working in events myself, I was worried about not being able to control everything; however the TCP team was amazing to work with and our guests had nothing but nice and positive comments about our big day. So glad we chose TCP and would recommend them time and time again!

Venue of my dreams!
My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Cheney place this summer. I fell in love with The Cheney Place when I was a guest at my friend's wedding in 2017. Ever since, I knew this was where I wanted my wedding to be. They sure delivered on making my dreams come true! They help you out every step of the way & the staff is so helpful & organized. We had Meg as our day of coordinator & she helped to make sure everything went perfectly & I didn't have to think at all & could enjoy my day! Cannot recommend this venue enough :)

The Cheney Place is such a beautiful venue, and the staff is amazing! They coordinated with all my vendors, were accommodating with my timeline the day of the wedding, and made the entire planning process less stressful. TCP is such a beautiful venue with wonderful people who consistently checked in with us to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible. All our questions were answered in a timely manner and the creativeness to be able to layout our reception area for different types of tables as well as little vignettes for couches/chairs/coffee tables was so neat. At our rehearsal the night before, we had Sara to help us with coordination and give suggestions as needed and we really appreciated having her there. We were provided day of coordination working with Grace. She was absolutely amazing and willing to do anything within her power to be able to make sure our day was as beautiful and stress free as possible. Excellent communication and was an absolute joy to work with.

The best day ever!
I honestly can’t say enough great things about the Cheney place and their staff. From our first tour to the day of they helped make everything go so smoothly. Our day of coordinators were amazing and made my Pinterest board a reality. Fringe made our event look so beautiful! We had so much fun utilizing their design space! Punch bar service was so great! We loved the beer package, the selection was amazing and the bar tenders were so fun! Not having to pack up at the end of the night was such a blessing so that we could go home and go to bed because we were exhausted from the best day ever!! You can’t go wrong at the Cheney place! Everyone hyped it up to me and I knew it would be great but they were beyond my expectations!

Wedding Must Have
Wow!! Just wow!! I could not have gotten through my wedding or created the vision I had if not for the Cheney Place staff, particularly my girl Sara! She was an angel on earth helping me through the whole process and especially the day of. They did EVERYTHING for setup and tear down which I can tell you was a life saver. All us and our guests had to do was enjoy the day. They were so professional and kind which is so important on such a big day. They do stuff like this every week but I felt like the most important person to them. Our guest all lived this venue so much and commented in the uniqueness all night long. And brides..that elevator entrance to your ceremony is like no other!! Start your wedding process right and book with the Cheney Place!

Dream Venue
I fell in love with the look and vintage vibe of the Cheney place but their service and attention to detail is what made my wedding day perfect. Ali, Colleen, and Meg were absolutely wonderful to work with. They were responsive to my questions through the whole process and made sure they had my vision in mind while they set up my decor and reception space. Stop looking for any other wedding venue-- YOU HAVE FOUND THE ONE!!!!! I honestly don't even know where to begin. Ali and Colleen are two of the KINDEST souls you will ever meet and helped me create the wedding beyond my WILDEST dreams. They are quite literally, the best wedding coordinators on planet earth. I credit the two of them for making my entire wedding process as easy as I could have ever hoped for. I am truly sad my wedding is over because I will not have the joy of working with these wonderful humans again. The venue speaks for itself and pictures do not give the venue justice (and the pictures are BEAUTIFUL-- so imagine it in person). If I could give The Cheney Place a bajillion stars, I would. They are absolutely incredible at what they do and I would recommend them to anyone who is searching for their venue! The staff is SO helpful and work as wedding coordinators for your big day. They went over everything and made me feel so good during planning; they think of allllll the details! Abby was my day of coordinator and she is fabulous. I can't say enough good things about her and the other girls I worked with during planning, rehearsal, etc. The venue takes care of setting up your decor, working with your other vendors, and making everything run smoothly the day of. Best venue ever! Colleen and Brooke were so so helpful not only leading up to my wedding but also the day of! Not only is the venue so cool and fun but there is so much that comes with it! I cannot say enough amazing things about this venue! Our first meeting here we were sold. We had an intimate wedding so we were able to use the second floor as our reception space. It is gorgeous! Everyone complimented on how beautiful and unique the space was. The staff is very responsive, and willing to help with anything. They truly make your day run smoothly. I am so happy we chose The Cheney Place for our wedding. We had the perfect day and our photos are gorgeous!!

The Cheney Place is the best venue around!!!!!! Not only is it gorgeous, but everyone who works there is kind, helpful, and 1000% knows what they are doing! We specifically worked closely with Abby who was fun, caring, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Seriously the day went PERFECT because of them! Every person at our wedding commented on how beautiful the venue is and my friends told me everyone who walked upstairs to cocktail hour mentioned how cool it is up there. The elevator entrance was so fun and made the day even more memorable. My bridesmaids told me watching me come down made them sob even more. Seriously you won't regret booking with this venue!! They are organized and were so helpful during the days leadings up to the wedding.

We absolutely loved this venue! The Cheney staff were amazing with all their help, from preparing beforehand to the day of. It took so much stress off us with there assistance during the day. The place is beautiful on every floor, especially the cocktail/second floor, which every one of our guests complimented. They also allow you to have options for a caterer, instead of only one, which made it possible for us to have one of our favorite meals (nachos!) for the dinner. We highly recommend this venue for others and can't thank the staff/venue enough for everything they did!

The best venue in West Michigan
We cannot express in words how glad we are to have booked the Cheney Place for our wedding. The perks are pretty much endless, but here are a few that meant most to us: a team of employees who worked hard to set up and tear down our decor so our families could simply be present with us and enjoy the wedding day, incredibly communicative staff throughout the whole planning process, the ability to drop off most of our decor the week before our wedding and pick it up the following week, an absolutely beautiful bridal suite and groom space, a venue that's so wonderful it barely needs any decor to shine, a whole warehouse of vintage furniture to use during our reception... I could go on! There are so many elements of the Cheney Place that simply can't be replicated elsewhere without paying a whole lot more money, and we'll forever be grateful for their attention to detail, kindness, and hard work in creating a perfect wedding day.

Unique, vintage, and romance at its finest!
This venue is full of fun and different experiences for you and your guests at every corner! So many of our guests after the wedding commented on how beautiful, unique, cool, and fun our wedding venue was! The staff, especially Carmen, are amazing too! We had to postpone a year due to Covid, and they were very flexible and accommodating towards our situation. Due to being pushed out a year, we did have some miscommunications, but nothing that ruined the day. We are very thankful for this crew and romantic, unique venue! It was also so fun picking our vintage furniture for the ceremony and reception! I also recommend upgrading your ceremony to include the chandeliers, some of my favorite touches! Also, the elevator entrance for the bride is EPIC! Was the perfect touch to celebrate our love! And so fun that it's downtown GR!

The perfect wedding venue!
The Cheney Place was the perfect wedding venue! First of all, it’s beautiful and unique. Our ceremony was picture perfect, and the cocktail hour seating on the second floor is straight out of a magazine!
All of the preliminary meetings with our Cheney Place day-of planner were delightful and stress-free, and everything went off without a hitch! They have a great staff and excellent planners. They even set up and tear down your decorations for you, so we were able to fully enjoy the evening!
The Cheney Place also connected us with incredible vendors who all have a great relationship with the venue and work together seamlessly. We can’t recommend The Cheney Place enough!

Beautiful and unique venue in Grand Rapids!
Our experience getting married at The Cheney Place was a DREAM - from our first tour of the venue all the way through our wedding day. Stephanie and the team at TCP are incredible and go above and beyond. Stephanie made everything so relaxed, fun, and easy on our wedding day and made sure we didn’t have anything to stress about. We were so grateful to be able to fully and completely enjoy every minute of our special day, thanks to her! She is a total rockstar at her job, and we are so grateful to have worked with her.
In addition to TCP’s top notch hospitality, this venue is absolutely amazing. Every little space of this huge venue is thoughtfully and beautifully designed. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue and experience for our wedding! We would highly recommend getting married here if you’re in the market for a beautiful and unique space for your wedding!

Worth every penny
We got married at TCP on 12/7/19 and we would do it all over again 100 times over. BOOK EARLY! This is a hot venue for good reason.
Our coordinator Stephanie was sweet, organized and thorough throughout the 1.5 year planning process. Every question answered (some before I even asked them), every accommodation made and every worry subdued.
The venue is beautiful and very little decor is needed which is why we loved it! Less work! They also assist with set up and tear down for you (try finding a venue like that anywhere else!).
Because the venue is so popular I was worried our experience would've feel unique or special (there was literally a wedding the night before ours) but they really put all their attention and love into YOUR special moment that you feel like the only bride of the year.
Going down the freight elevator is a must! Getting ready onsite in the suite, also a must! Do it all, you won't regret it. Just take every moment in because you wont want it to end.
My grandma is still texting me things like "I can't believe how neat that place is!" :)

I have nothing but amazing things to say about The Cheney Place and everyone I worked with when planning our wedding! They are experts, so incredibly responsive, always there to offer suggestions and assist with anything and everything. I felt like I had a team of wedding planners!
They have a couple outlines you can use and in-person meetings they set up, where you can just throw inspiration at them and they come back with real, applicable ideas to make the day yours. We utilized their Fancy Frey rentals and gave them a general color scheme and they created the cutest little seating areas! Also - their linens ... I don’t even know where to begin but they have every linen under the sun, we mixed and matched three. Their resources are outstanding!
They are right there around every corner to make sure everything on the day of moves seamlessly. They coordinated with all my vendors - I don’t think I did a thing! I was always able to find someone on the floor and their staff was so pleasant to us and our guests! Just so glad we picked such a welcoming and fun place to tie the knot. Amazing Experience
We hosted our wedding ceremony and reception here and it was stunning. The staff was incredibly helpful during every stage of the planning and especially on the big day. They worked hard to bring our vision to life and always made sure we were going to get what we wanted. Can't thank them enough, we highly recommend!!

Magical! Exquisite service!
We are beyond happy with my daughter’s May 3 wedding at The Cheney Place. The facility, the staff – EVERYTHING was perfect. Emily was fabulous to work with as we planned the event…and then she and Noah were an absolute dream to work with the day of the event…as was the entire staff. Every single person was just so intent on making sure we had a seamless, trouble-free, magical day. The facility is just charming with the various seating areas and décor. Our guests raved about it. Thank you The Cheney Place for helping us create a dream wedding!

The Cheney Place is outstanding!!! Hands down! you never know how your wedding day will go and if everyone will remember all the details you so carefully planned. The Cheney Place made sure everything was perfect and Stephanie was absolutely amazing to work with. She kept me at ease through the entire process. They made our wedding day perfect and kept the good vibes all day. This venue is so beautiful and the ability to select your furniture/decor options and work with someone along the way was very helpful for my husband and I. I loved the ability to have my own bridal suite to get ready with my girls with plenty of space and fabulous decor. Absolutely loved our day and highly recommend The Cheney Place!

I cannot say enough about what a great experience our wedding was at The Cheney Place. The Cheney Place is such a beautiful venue, the guests could not believe it. The staff worked so hard to make sure everything went right. They also communicated with all the vendors such that all I had to do was pick out the details, and they handled every communication past that. Absolutely everyone I worked with was responsive, friendly, and flexible. From the consultation, to emails, to the day of, it could not have been an easier or more beautiful experience. Every detail of the wedding was so perfectly executed by them. I will be recommending them to my friends at every chance!

Wow! Where do I begin? The Cheney Place was worth every single penny we paid for it. Not only is this place full of gorgeous vintage furniture and fun details, but the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We hosted our ceremony and reception here, and it was the most stress-free and relaxed day. Jenna, the Venue Manager, was an absolute dream to work with. From the minute we first met with her to the follow up after the big day, she was on top of everything. She responded to emails almost immediately and brought my wedding's vision to life. Even when I changed some things last minute, it wasn't a problem. It was like having a wedding planner without paying for a wedding planner! Jenna did all the coordinating for the timing and put everything in place to make our big day extra special.
On the day of our wedding, Jenna and her staff organized everything, setting up tables and coordinating with vendors. I was able to completely relax. She told us where to go and what to do the whole day, so we didn't have to think about anything. I can honestly say that the day was perfect and perfectly executed. If I got married again, I'd choose The Cheney Place in a heartbeat.
Fancy Fray, the vintage furniture rental, and PUNCH, the TCP bar, were absolutely amazing, too. Fancy Fray's selection was amazing. We were able to handpick everything. And the bar had a drink ready for me every time I went up to them.
So much love to this vendor. Nothing bad to say about them at all! If you're wavering, just go for it! It's worth it!

The Cheney Place is the best venue around! My husband and I were looking for a warehouse feel for our August wedding. It fit the bill perfectly. We knew the minute we walked in, this is where we were going to get married. The building itself is absolutely beautiful and the girls that work there are amazingly friendly, organized and very very easy to work with! If you are looking for a one-stop shop for your wedding, this is it! We had the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one building, plus we were able to take all our pictures on site as well! It made things so simple and stress free on our big day! Our guests loved the venue as well, as there are many fun places to get great Instagram pics! Would definitely highly recommend The Cheney Place!!

Perfect is the only word I can use to describe my wedding day. The Cheney Place is such a beautiful venue, and the staff work so hard to make sure everything goes right. From our first consultation Stephanie and Jenna were so easy to work with, so organized, and so kind. Every detail of my wedding was so perfectly executed by them. Even when I couldn't find my vows, they quickly offered to print new ones and saved the day! You can tell they are seasoned wedding pros. If I were planning my wedding again, I would choose The Cheney Place a thousand times over!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! I highly recommend getting married here or at least having your reception here! The venue is absolutely gorgeous (you hardly need to decorate because it is already so beautiful) and the staff is so helpful with planning and coming up with new ideas. The staff also handled pretty much all the set up and tear down and they even had an event coordinator for the entire event. The bridal suite is awesome and the vintage furniture makes the space feel so special. I don’t have a single complaint about this venue!

I don't know where to begin in expressing my gratitude and high recommendation for The Cheney Place. From the very beginning of our interaction to following up on last details in the days following our wedding, they were fun, professional and always left me feeling like I was in the best hands.
As someone who did not know the first thing about wedding planning when we began, they helped me to really organize my thoughts and figure out my overall vision. Everything after that was truly them executing what I related to them in our first few meetings.
All of the pre-work was so smooth and helpful, that it is amazing to say that our wedding day itself made them shine even brighter. Everything was perfectly executed and all the little details that I could not have possibly forseen, they already had the perfect answer to. I cannot say how many of our guests stopped us throughout the evening just to say how beautiful the space was, how exquisitely it was decorated, and how nice everybody was!
Our day went without a hitch, which is something that I feel grateful to just be able to say. I would love to get married all over again just to work with their staff again and see what amazing-ness they could cook up. My husband and I are so especially grateful to Jenna, Stephanie and Aubree for all of their hard work and for making us feel like family.

My husband and I recently had our reception at The Cheney Place and we can't say enough about this place. The staff, the venue, everything. Our guests gushed over the beautiful space, lighting, everything. It's charming, chic, vintage, and beyond breathtaking. If you want great lighting and great photos, this is your place. As a photographer, this was one of my must-haves; a venue with exposed natural lighting as we were having a winter wedding. We took all photos upstairs and it was perfect. The management here is unbelievably kind, helpful, and on top of their game. There wasn't a single hiccup. Jenna & Stephanie were amazing gals to work with and I will truly miss them. I wish I could take them through life with me! I also highly recommend using GiGi LaClede, the onsite rental company. Holly is amazing to work with and has beautiful rentals that I took full advantage of. The in-house bar service TCP uses was also exceptional. For weeks my now-husband and I looked for a venue that was large enough to accommodate our big families, yet more unique than most of the banquet halls and golf course venues near where we live. The moment we walked into the Cheney Place I was shocked, because it was exactly what we were looking for. The space is beautiful, the staff accommodating and helpful, and it doesn't hurt that vintage furniture rentals are easy to add to the plan for your big day! We also loved that the Cheney Place was so flexible with the decor - we dropped off everything a couple days before the event, they set it all up beautifully and took it down for us at the end of the night. We just had to pick it back up a couple of days later! So convenient to not worry about what is happening to all of your stuff at the end of the reception. Additionally, the cocktail hour space and bridal suite are amazing and so full of character! They made for beautiful photos, and I have guests commenting on what an incredible reception venue months later!
Our only slight issue was that a stranger came in at one point during the evening because the doors were unlocked and wandered into the coat room. Luckily, he was spotted right away, and the staff said they would review their security tapes to make sure nothing was taken. Besides that one small hiccup, I absolutely loved my experience working with the Cheney Place! If I could throw an event there every year, I would in a heartbeat. Any brides looking for a unique and low-stress experience for their wedding should consider the Cheney Place!

My husband and I are so thrilled we chose The Cheney Place for our ceremony and reception! The venue is beautiful and very unique. The artwork, furniture, and light fixtures in the space give it a distinct style. If you like that aesthetic, this is a great place to get married. Many of our guests commented on how much they loved the venue! We actually saved money on decorations because the space is so beautifully decorated on its own. We enjoyed working with Jenna and other TCP staffers throughout the planning process. They were always quick to respond and eager to provide referrals and advice. The day of could not have gone more smoothly. The TCP staff coordinated with our other vendors and remembered and executed every specific detail we asked for. My husband and I were able to relax and enjoy our day knowing that all the details and logistics were in expert hands. I would very highly recommend this venue. Note that they book up far in advance so you will need to plan accordingly!

Perhaps the craziest things my husband and I have ever done was book our wedding reception venue BEFORE even getting engaged, and we have Cheney Place to thank for that! Knowing that we were thinking about getting married and that we happened to be in Grand Rapids for work (we live in Chicago), I suggested to my husband that we check out this place that might work for the wedding. He was game, since we certainly weren’t in a place to commit to any vendors yet. Again, we weren’t even engaged yet! This was supposed to be a casual visit just to get an idea of what was out there! But, we fell in love with Cheney Place. It’s beautiful, unique, and full of antique elements that make it one of a kind. We loosely told Jenna, who walked us around, that we wanted to get married the following year and she said they were completely booked through that fall, except for a weekend in September. After 5 minutes of high-energy consultation, we decided to throw caution to the wind and booked it! So, Cheney Place picked my wedding date and I’m thrilled! Working with them was incredible (special shout out to Jenna, who is organized, cheerful, and oh so competent), and we even booked Fancy Fray vignettes and farm tables from them. Jenna gave great recommendations about solid vendors which got us started on our adventure. Our wedding guests still comment about how amazing Cheney Place was, and we agree! We’ll look forward to renewing our vows their some day. Strongly recommend you check this place out and book quickly!

If you are looking for an amazing and different venue, THIS IS THE PLACE!!! Words can't express how happy we were with this company. Everyone from owner to plannersl to clean up crew were warm, courteous, professional and downright amazing. As a mother of the bride, it was so important to me that everything be the way it was pictured in my daugher's head. In her own words, it was her "dream wedding." This would not have been possible without the staff at The Cheney Place! If we ever renew our vows, I would want to that here!
Additionally, I was a little skeptical at having to choose from their specific vendors, and their list was extensive and thorough. Like TCP, the other vendors were amazing! And all had great things to say themselves about working with the TCP staff.
IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

My husband and I looked at many venues in the Kalamazoo/Grand Rapids area. We were set on having a unique venue for our non-traditional wedding. I stumbled across The Cheney Place and instantly fell in love. We scheduled a tour with Ben Peterson and he answered ALL of our questions about the space. We were able to host our ceremony and our reception here & it was absolutely breathtaking. We opted for the styled ceremony which included soft seating (vintage couches) in the first two rows for family, chandeliers down the aisle, an arch for us to stand in front of & a ride down the elevator for my father & I. Our guests were brought to the second floor which is styled by Ben & Mindy (owners). You cannot change the styling, but I promise you won't want to! Our guests were raving about the space and fell in love just as we did. After cocktail hour, our guests came back to the first floor for the reception. We were able to use the farm table for the head table (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) and had a seating vignette near the dance floor. I have to also give a major shoutout to Aubree for all of her help planning the day and for being their the day of! She is phenomenal! Overall, I would recommend The Cheney Place to any and all future couples. We want to relive our wedding day there over and over again! Thank you Cheney Place for make our day absolutely perfect!

The staff at TCP is fabulous! Each time I called or sent an email, it was always answered quickly and kindly! They were so very helpful, and anticipated things we needed, as well as solved whatever issues arose with efficiency and a smile! I would recommend them to everyone! The Cheney Place was nothing but amazing for our wedding night. We were a little nervous because we didn't have a day-of wedding coordinator nor did we have a Master and Mistress of Ceremony but TCP team took over the show like Beyonce's Single Ladies video. They had a team of maybe 4-5 that took care of literally everything from start to finish. If you go with TCP, bars by butch, Bradley productions, Kangaroo kitchen combo, they will NOT disappoint. All night we had comments on how awesome our venue was and how beautiful it looked! Thank you again for making our night perfect!

The Cheney Place is the only space you should look at in the Grand Rapids area. After a TON of research... we found that The Cheney Place is the most unique, upscale, spacious yet intimate venue out there. The staff is down to earth and very organized. They kept us on track for wedding planning and made everything so easy! They were also very accommodating to our requests and took care of every detail for us! Its truly the best spot to host any event!

Hands down the best venue in Michigan. We looked all over the state for the perfect place and The Cheney Place exceeded every expectation we had. Prior to the wedding Jenna helped us so much with planning and designing everything we needed, she is absolutely an expert at what she does. The day of the ceremony everything was flawless thanks to all of the hard work behind the scenes. Our guests keep telling us it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to, and we have The Cheney Place and all the staff to thank for that, especially Jenna and Stephanie. Our experience with TCP was top notch. First of all, the venue is incredible, gorgeous, and unique. We had hundreds of compliments from our guests. More importantly (now that I have been a bride) the TCP staff- Jenna and her team- were incredible communicators. Very organized, flexible, accommodating, and responsive. From planning stages all the way through the night of the event, they went above and beyond, and handled many small details of our event that took a great deal of pressure off of me and my "bride tribe".
Also, as a bride, the bridal suite is clutch. It was very nice to be able to get ready there and then have that spot as our "home base" all the way through the end of the event.
I strongly recommend TCP to any recently engaged couples! Congrats and good luck!
Oh also, we had our ceremony there as well, and the guests could not stop talking about my elevator entrance. What a unique touch!!

My husband and I looked around at many venues in Grand Rapids, but we truly fell in love with The Cheney Place the minute we walked in. Not only is the space beautiful and unique, but we could not say more about the staff and service we received. Leading up to our wedding, Jenna quickly responded to any questions we had (and there were many:)). She guided us on how to customize the space to fit us as a couple and our vision for our wedding. We were blown away on our actual wedding day by how much TCP staff did for us. We had both our ceremony and reception at TCP; on our wedding day, the space looked more beautiful than we could have imagined. Having the ceremony on the main floor, heading upstairs for the cocktail hour, and then back down to the reception went flawlessly. Heading into our wedding day, we knew our contract said the TCP staff would take down decorations, but we were unsure how much this actually entailed. At the end of the night, the staff literally picked up and boxed everything for us. We were then offered multiple dates after our wedding we could come by and pick things up. Not needing to clean at the end of the night was such a gift for us and our families. We cannot overstate how wonderful The Cheney Place was; they truly exceeded our expectations in every way!

Where to even begin? Our wedding at The Cheney Place was absolute perfection. The venue is so unique and the décor absolutely stunning. Our guests are still raving about its beauty and how they have never seen a building like it. What truly set The Cheney Place apart from other wedding venues are their staff and services. Jenna, the venue manager, worked with us throughout the planning process and was AMAZING. She was very prompt in response to emails or phone calls and pretty much guided us through making decisions with vendors, decorations, etc. I am so grateful for her because I am terrible with event planning and décor. Jenna helped me through everything from developing wedding timelines to the layout of ceremony and receptions. I always figured that for my wedding I would have to hire a wedding planner. However, with all of Jenna’s guidance and coordination, that wasn’t necessary. I pretty much got a wedding planner with my booking of The Cheney Place. Our decorations and ceremony/reception layout ended up looking far better than I would have ever imagined. Their staff is truly talented and so creative! We pretty much only told them our theme and gave them a few items we wanted displayed for decorations. The rest we told them to do whatever they needed to do to make it look nice and they beyond exceeded our expectations!
Another helpful service The Cheney Place provides is complete setup and takedown of all decorations, tables, chairs, etc. Even better, they can store it for you at the venue to pick up later so you don’t have to worry about it at the end of the night. Once I arrived there to get ready, I seriously did not lift a finger. Their staff handled everything and I could just enjoy the moment. I still can’t believe how stress-free our wedding was. I kept waiting for something unexpected or for something to go wrong and it never happened. Our wedding could not have been this perfect without the staff and services of The Cheney Place!

Honestly, The Cheney Place is a fairy-tale venue. My husband and I (well mostly I:) fell in love with The Cheney Place the moment we walked into the venue. It was the perfect setting for our special day and totally fit our personalities. Jenna and team were such a pleasure to work with. They were quick to response, offer ideas, and allowed me to stop by a few times to see different setups and take out-of-town family through the space before the wedding. I recommend this venue to any couple planning to their wedding. The space requires little to no decoration. It sells itself and fits a large group easily.

We recently had our ceremony and reception at the Cheney Place and could not have been happier. With the help of Jenna and her awesome staff, our day went perfectly. Jenna was always very timely with her email responses and I never felt like I was bothering her with the (several) questions that randomly pop into your head. Look no further! Jenna and her team were absolutely amazing! We live in the Detroit area so her responsiveness was extra helpful. Her team did everything from set up to tear down and had everything ready for us to pick up a couple of days after. The Cheney Place is AH-MAZING! If you're considering having your wedding here--- Stop debating and JUST DO IT! Best decision I made through the whole wedding process, besides my groom of course :) Jenna, the event coordinator was seriously awesome, like I have a friend crush she is so cool. She answered hundreds of questions from my mother and I, and always with a positive and immediate response. The quick response rate made a world of difference with all the different stresses I was under during the planning time. Jenna and the staff were helpful and creative with ideas when needed, but not overbearing at the least. Very accommodating. I didn't even hire a wedding planner or day of coordinator-- the Cheney staff did it all for me which saved big bucks! After working with them for a year and knowing how detail oriented they are, I had complete faith in them to set up day of and handle any obstacles without hassle or hiccups. The space is absolutely gorgeous and looked stunning once all said and done. I highly recommend renting furniture through their sister company, Fancy Fray too! It made the space just right, and gave the vintage feel I was looking for. Having the second floor available for cocktail hour was really cool and my guests loved all the different scenic backdrops - it really elevates the space and makes it fee less like a "wedding hall" plus It is awesome for pictures too! The bridal suite is adorable for all your ladies to get ready in-- we had so much fun and had some really cute candid photos taken up there! Most local hair places will waive the travel fee to come to The Cheney too because its so convenient to downtown (Only located about a half mile from the downtown bars and hotels so its perfect for your out of town guests). My friends and family are still beaming about the wedding and the space, weeks later and I owe that in big part to The Cheney Place. Please book this venue, and then invite me to your wedding ;)

From the second I walked into the Cheney place, I knew my husband and I had to get married there. Jenna (is a complete wedding GENIUS) and her team ROCK! From start to finish planning was a blast, execution was perfect, and the staff walked through the entire process with us. Wedding planning and the actual day should be FUN and stress-free, it was exactly that for us! We didn't have to worry about a thing, from working with us on our budget and making our vision come to life, all the way to refilling donuts the second our guests devoured them....we are SO grateful for this place! They set-up and cleaned up everything with care and thought, as if it was their own wedding. I am truly amazed at the heart that every single person put into our special day (and they didn't even know us!) We can't say enough good things about the Cheney Place. Our wedding at The Cheney Place was absolutely perfect. The venue itself is beautiful, but it was the staff that really puts it over the top. Everything was so well planned and organized that I didn't have to worry, and they kept things moving perfectly between the wedding, the cocktail hour, the reception, and finally the sparkler send off. They took care of everything from floor plans, to working with the vendors, to decorating, to clean up after the event. These people know how to run a wedding, and they were amazing to work with!
I also loved that we could spend the day getting ready in the bridal suite. It was a blast having hair and make up done there and being able to have family and friends be a part of the getting ready process. It was also nice to be able to see everything all set up and how beautiful the space was before the guests arrived. It really was a perfect day and can't thank Jenna and the rest of The Cheney Place staff enough for all their work!

The Cheney Place was a dream. We loved it, our guests loved it (we received so many compliments!) and the staff was incredible to work with. They were helpful and responsive and they may the day itself go incredibly smoothly (they handled all the set-up and tear down and kept everything on track). I absolutely loved this venue and everyone on staff, especially Jenna :) !!! They were amazing and accommodated everything we could possibly want. We loved having our ceremony and reception at The Cheney Place. We had to plan our wedding from out of state, but our coordinator Jenna was so amazing, great at responding to emails and answering questions. Cheney Place set up all of my wedding decor, when I walked in I was blown away. They did a better job with the decorations than I had even imagined. Most importantly, Jenna and the others at TCP single handedly made the wedding day a success with scheduling and keeping the day on track. I would highly recommend using The Cheney Place!

I CANNOT convey how AWESOME our experience was at The Cheney Place! The pricing for the space is a fantastic VALUE for everything that comes with it. We were able to use all 3 floors (3rd floor only for photos), I was able to work with Audrey who made the 6 month planning window I had as peaceful as it could've possibly gone, and the perks of being able to use items from Fancy Fray stock to make the setting absolutely stunning. I elected to use the elevator for my entrance and Audrey was there to operate it and fix my train before my father and I walked down the aisle. It was so perfect! Every aspect was well above any average standards. Audrey listened to my vision and helped make it a reality while staying within budget. Thank you, Audrey, for playing a key role in the development and execution of our wedding!

Such a fun hip space! We fell in love with Cheney Place the moment that we walked in! We found the space itself charming, and with the incorporation of fun vintage furniture touches from Fancy Fray, the actual decorations we brought in were minimal. We had a beautiful ceremony on the first floor, with the help of Fancy Fray's church pews, and then a cocktail hour on the second floor, and returned to the first floor to find (quickly flipped) gorgeous reception. The staff was so helpful in planning the logistics of everything, and being there for day of support and coordination. I would highly recommend this venue. A truly unique charming space with fabulous owners and staff!!

We loved having our reception at The Cheney Place. It was such a cool atmosphere, and made for a unique experience for us and our guests. Audrey was on top of everything and was well prepared and helpful through the whole planning process. I did not feel that I inconvenienced them at all asking questions and/or giving suggestions. It was a wonderful venue, especially for those with a larger number of guests.

The Cheney Place has been amazing! Jenna was very helpful and organized which was a load off our shoulders in planning our wedding. She was very responsive and accommodating to our needs. I had my one year anniversary reception at TCP and wish I could go back every year - from the staff to the venue itself, the entire experience was smooth, exciting and extremely flexible. Audrey was our lead and she was so friendly and welcoming; never hesitated to confirm a question or adjust a detail. All of the staff we came across from Francy Fray was just as excited about our event as we were - so excited they even worked with me on cost to ensure the event was set up just right! In working within the event planning industry myself I would recommend this unique, memorable located to any bride looking to host a one-of-a-kind event. If my husband would let me, we would go back any chance we could!!

The Cheney Place WAS AMAZING. Seriously. The best venue ever.
Jenna was fantastic and did SO MUCH for us. She organized everything and made everything BEAUTIFUL for our wedding. I can't believe how full-service the venue is, and we rented a lot of beautiful antiques from Fancy Fray, which looked amazing in the space and made our wedding so unique and wonderful. I can't express how special this place is. It has a vintage/warehouse/industrial feel that is so unique. Everyone commented on how beautiful the space was, and loved the cocktail hour upstairs, which is decked out in Fancy Fray and stays that way all year round!
My cousin is an event planner in NYC and she coordinated our wedding day, and she said she isn't used to the venue doing so much set up and everything. She was amazed by the organization and efficiency of everyone at The Cheney Place- especially Jenna.
Every time I emailed Jenna with a LONG list of questions she calmly emailed me back answering everything I asked and looking into everything that needed sorting out. I trusted her completely by the time the day rolled around, which was so important, since no bride wants extra things to worry about on her wedding day!
Everything was beautiful, and I can't recommend this venue enough. It really is FULL service.

We booked with the Cheney Place for our wedding, and so far have had really wonderful experiences working with all of the staff there. We have taken 3 tours total so far, and gotten valuable feedback about booking other vendors for catering, bar. All of the staff there have been professional, responsive, and really a pleasure to work with. We cannot wait to get married there and are very excited about our choice.

Amazing venue and the most awesome staff! We loved hosting our wedding reception at the cheney...and so did our guests! We still are receiving complements on the reception! We were able to use both floors at the cheney for our cocktail area and they allowed us to get ready in the bridal suite early Saturday morning. This was perfect because we had a large wedding party! Audrey is the best to work with! Laying our the floor plan was something we dreaded and she made it easy on us! We gave her some thoughts and she gave us options...simple and easy! Highly recommend to everyone! I (the bride) want to do it all over again!

I cannot say enough how much I love The Cheney Place. The staff is incredible (responsive, helpful, informative, professional and just plain wonderful), the venue itself is gorgeous and we continue to receive compliments on our choice and all of that together makes for a magical evening.
I would recommend this place for any bride looking for a unique, classy and modern venue. The arcade style lighting, wooden beams, brick walls and open spacing make this the best place to let your creativity run wild.
The girls (Jenna and Audrey) are great! They helped us with every detail every step of the way and never made me feel like I asked too many questions (which I'm sure I did). We paid for the extra for an "All-Inclusive" package and I would say EVERYONE should do this, I don't know why you wouldn't. They take care of every bit of setup and tear down for you leaving you with a stress free wedding, it was INCREDIBLE!!
This was the best night of my life and I'm so thankful I chose The Cheney Place as the venue for our reception. It was absolutely stunning and it all felt very magical the whole time!!

My guests continue to talk about the atmosphere and how neat the building was from our wedding night. I have no complaints and would highly recommend using them :)

The Cheney Place is an amazing spot to host any event! The space has a great balance of rustic and modern elements which makes it very unique and full of character! The staff (specifically Audrey) is great to work with as she consistently put my detail-oriented brain at ease. She responded quickly and had the place set up exactly how I imagined it (actually, better!). Once we arrived there for our reception, we knew immediately that they had everything under control and we didn't have to worry about a thing. We are SO happy we went with TCP for our reception and would recommend this venue to anyone!

The Cheney Place is an amazing place to host your wedding reception. The staff is so accommodating and was always easy to communicate with and answering my questions. The space is an old warehouse so it has a very rustic feel to it where you are able to customize it the way you want it--you pick all of your own vendors. We had a winter wedding where we had a shuttle service and we were able to decorate the venue the day before. Everyone complimented on the warm feel of The Cheney Place. I couldn't be happier to have had my wedding reception there. Thanks again!

I had a fantastic experience at this venue. I loved the old warehouse feel and the building has so much character. I was blown away with the transformation for the reception. It was beautiful!
