Ashlee impressed me not just because her cake was beautiful but because she was also incredibly professional and took the time to meet with us personally (on top of running a bakery and creating and delivering amazing cakes for many events) to make sure that we got exactly what we needed. The process began with my now-husband and I purchasing a cake-tasting box from the bakery. Her flavors are amazing, and she can create hundreds of spectacular combinations (including vegan options) to have a unique and delicious cake-tasting experience. The purchase money towards the box was taken off our bill when we booked with her. She then sat down with my husband and I to determine what our dream...Ashlee impressed me not just because her cake was beautiful but because she was also incredibly professional and took the time to meet with us personally (on top of running a bakery and creating and delivering amazing cakes for many events) to make sure that we got exactly what we needed. The process began with my now-husband and I purchasing a cake-tasting box from the bakery. The purchase money towards the box was taken off our bill when we booked with her. She then sat down with my husband and I to determine what our dream look would be. She listened to all of our needs, drew precisely what our cake would look like, and included details to make sure she got it exactly right. She expressed pure joy in doing her work, which led us to believe that she would meet all our expectations, and she did. The cake was beautiful and unlike any I'd ever seen before. Ashlee has incredible talent and her cakes are great signature pieces for any event. -

I can't stop raving about our wedding cake. She is so flexible and adapts to your style! We wanted a naked cake with berries and it was quite a hipster vision...and she did it better than I imagined! Seriously beautiful cake! Our cake was for 60 people and then we also had a small cake on the side that was for about 10 people.I can't stop raving about our wedding cake. Ashley was on it. I had a very specific idea for my wedding cake and she rolled up her sleeve and got to work! the cake was GORGEOUS. Too bad there was NONE left for me to try to try but all our guests said it was amazing. We also had cupcakes and there was not one left and we ordered enough dessert for 1.8X our guest count! Our meeting with her was very detailed, which is what I need because I'm an anxious person. For example, she drew a picture of the wedding cake during our meeting w/ colored markers -- so adorable and appreciate the level of detail and thought for your special day.Ashley was on it. Whenever I would ask for a recommendation on a bakery for my wedding cake, I was told to go to the Cake Artists Studio. They are simply the best in town!!
Ashlee (the owner) could not have been more of a pleasure to work with. I brought pictures of what I was thinking in terms of design to our consultation, and she sketched out the most perfect looking cake featuring exactly what I was looking for.
It was perfectly sweet and classy looking, with clean lines and the right amount of detail. Not to mention, delicious! I received many complements from my guests on her beautiful work.

Their cake is the absolute best in Champaign-Urbana. Buy a cake tasting box yourself to compare with other bakers (they apply the cost to your cake price). Our four tiered cake (lemon with raspberry buttercream filling and chocolate with cappucino filling) was gorgeous and the white sheet cake was as well.Their cake is the absolute best in Champaign-Urbana. The Cake Artist Studio does not only make the best tasting cakes, cupcakes, and cookies around, they decorate them beyond what you could ever imagine!! I went in for a consultation with my husband, and we really didn't have a good image of what we were thinking. We just let them know that we were thinking of some abstract flowers and tons of piping!! We also wanted a very beautiful clean cake, however, neither of us really care for fondant. We were assured that she could use butter cream icing and make it appear just as smooth as fondant; the finished cake looked and tasted AMAZING!!! I got so many compliments on not only the appearance but also the...The Cake Artist Studio does not only make the best tasting cakes, cupcakes, and cookies around, they decorate them beyond what you could ever imagine!! The Cake Artists Studio did an AMAZING job on our wedding cake! I came in with a completely custom idea and they made it look exactly how I wanted. It was a gorgeous cake. It was the centerpiece of our wedding and everyone loved it. The flavors they offer are delicious also! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who is thinking about getting married!The Cake Artists Studio did an AMAZING job on our wedding cake! We paid $3 per serving and we also rented a cake stand for $35. Having looked through many magazines and reading about cakes online, I was expecting this georgeous cake to be out of my very modest price range.
Wrong! I had 4 tiers (1 to keep) and an extra birthday cake for my uncle, for about $325. When we first ordered the cake we thought we were having more guests than we were, and they let us reduce the size of the tiers shortly before the wedding (which reduced our cost).
Because I was ordering exactly the cake design they had in the showroom they didn't add any charge for "custom design" but I had a cake that looked so different from anything else, and I was allowed to bring in fresh flowers from my bouquet to decorate it. Chef Roderick did an equally amazing job arranging the fresh flowers, something I'm SUPER picky about.
You should know that the pictures on her website are "ok", but they truly do not show the amazing work that the cake artist's studio does. They hold free tastings every month, and I highly recommend going. It'll totally sell you on her work. When I went, it was with my girlfriends and I couldn't decided between the numerous amazing cake flavors, so they packed up samples of of each one for me to share with my husband-to-be so that he could be involved in the choice, but NOT be dragged off to look at cakes. -

First off our cake was really a true piece of art. My aunt said the first thing she did when she arrived at our reception was take pictures of the cake. It was delivered on time, accurately and beautiful.
We had met with Ashlee over a year before the wedding, and in spite of some confusion (her mother isn't the nicest woman in the world and works in the front with the customers) we were able to meet with Ashlee at our initial agreed upon time for a consultancy.
Ashlee was wonderful to work with - kind, lots of good ideas and plenty of options. Designing with her was a joy. She also offers a gluten...First off our cake was really a true piece of art. When trying to get a hold of Ashlee to verify which flowers she would need for the cake, it took three calls from me (I kept getting her mother on the phone telling me "I'll have Ashlee call you back", which she never did) and finally my florist was able to get a hold of her.
Other than that, we got exactly what we were expecting and the cake tasted AMAZING!! Moist, not too sweet, perfect! And the design was exactly what we were looking for! -

Horrible Service
I’ve never posted a review but had to share this devastating experience with Cake Artist Studio on Bloomington Road today. I had the bad luck of turning into the wrong driveway and getting stuck in the mud behind @thecakeartistsstudio My dad showed up to help maneuver me out; as we did so, a lady comes out (assumed owner, she was an older lady with dark hair) and I smiled, thinking she had sympathy for my situation. Instead, hands on hips, she asks, “What’s going on here?” and scolds me, “You’re on private property.” I then try to explain to her that I’d made a wrong turn, am stuck in the mud, and my dad is now here to help...I’ve never posted a review but had to share this devastating experience with Cake Artist Studio on Bloomington Road today. It’s too bad that an establishment would treat someone in my situation like this, and I would definitely recommend to take your money elsewhere!
