Wow what a great experience! I attended my friends wedding and Jessie the coordinator was amazing!!

We had an amazing experience! Brookwood is such a great place to have a wedding at. It fits small and large weddings perfectly. Katie and Jessie were so on top of things and made sure our day was absolutely perfect. The food was amazing as well. We had so many compliments from our guests about the food and venue itself. The dance floor was big and placed perfectly in the room which made it easier for everyone to want to go up and dance. The venue was beautiful. I couldn't have pictured a more perfect wedding than at Brookwood.

We can't say enough good things about our experience at Brookwood. Katie was incredible and guided us through every step of the process. We had a bit of a unique experience in that we got married a week after Hurricane Harvey hit Houston. We were worried about guests being able to make it in and the venue even being operational, but Katie was in constant contact, offered us every option (from refunds to rescheduling to relocating), and in the end bent over backwards to find an alternate reception space on site and made everything absolutely perfect, with very little different from how we planned. Katie's flexibility made our event happen in spite of local tragedy. Apart from our individual wonderful experience, part of why we chose Brookwood is because of the incredible work the community does. It was an affordable wedding venue where we knew proceeds were going towards a cause we were passionate about. The chapel is gorgeous and although we didn't get to have our reception in the Garden Ballroom due to the storm, the garden and cafe area where receptions typically take place is also beautiful and maintained by local residents- a cool extra touch. While Brookwood requires you do your catering through them, the chef and food are so good we wouldn't have had it any other way. Katie was very flexible with the menu and even offered to have the chef make any family recipes we might have. We had such a wonderful experience and can't say enough good things about The Brookwood Community and Katie. I am so glad we choose them for our perfect day!

When we started planning our wedding we knew our priorities were focused on ensuring that our community of friends and family felt welcomed and comfortable coming together to celebrate this little thing called love. From the moment we found the Brookwood Community during our research (and I did A LOT of research), we loved that their own mission statement directly aligned with our goals. Their chapel is breathtaking. The food is fantastic - I'm talking fresh from the garden delicious. Chef even catered to my gluten free diet and nobody noticed because they were too busy eating! We had plenty of room for 175 guests (could have easily had more). Being from Texas, we had a Grand March as a part of our reception. We weaved in and out of the reception hall, out the doors opening directly into the the garden and back through the foyer. Everyone had a great time!
We could not have been happier with Katie, our wedding coordinator. She listened to what we wanted and helped deliver everything down to the smallest detail with constant communication and clear expectations on costs.
We knew we were going to spend a lot of money on our wedding, and felt better knowing it was going to an amazing organization. I should also note, that Brookwood was the most economical choice that we were considering. That means we were able to check off EVERY SINGLE box - welcoming, delicious food, well priced, and a respected organization within Houston.
Overall - We love the Brookwood Community! And we loved our wedding!!
For a note on logistics - we had our hotel block at City Centre so that guests had plenty to keep them entertained with during the weekend. It was an easy drive out to the venue.

If you have any doubt in your mind about having your wedding at Brookwood before visiting the campus, I highly suggest that you go visit first! You might fall in love, again :) The chapel is stunning and doesn't need much extra decorating. Brookwood does have a fern package you can rent from its greenhouses, which is a really neat option. In fact, as you talk with Katie, the wedding coordinator, you will find there are many nice options that a lot of other wedding venues do not include. My guests loved the cocktail hour - the small bites, Photo Booth (Trendy Touches), the garden to explore and take a walk in (although it was a cold evening in November!) and drink options. Katie was really lovely to work with and is an excellent communicator, very professional, kind and thoughtful.
I love how Brookwood does the catering and hosts a top notch chef that is somehow able to cook for 200 people and get it just right! Our lemon chicken was even BETTER than we had at our tasting. What?! The guests loved everything about it and I know they would have had a great time wherever we decided to have the wedding...which is why I'm so glad my love and I decided to have it here, at Brookwood. What a special place that I can't wait to go back to with my husband and eat at the cafe and walk the gardens and just remember what a fantastic celebration we had there!

Our experience at Brookwood was better than we could have ever expected! My husband and I had a short engagement, only 4 months, and Brookwood offered a turnkey operation that allowed us to plan our wedding with ease. We loved working with Katie, and she made the entire experience a dream. We received so many compliments about our wedding, some saying it was truly the best they'd been to. Everyone loved the food, and the space was perfect for our needs. The chapel is stunning, as well as the banquet area, and the venue location was so easy for people to find. We also loved that our wedding contributed to continuing services for an adult with special needs at Brookwood Community. Honestly, I can't recommend Brookwood enough! It is a beautiful place that provides top notch service while impacting lives.

Brookwood Community was the absolute perfect place for us to get married! No other venue we looked at was able to compare. We loved everything about Brookwood- from the beautiful scenery, to the beautiful chapel, to the delicious food, and ultimately the fact that our wedding was able to benefit Brookwood and the residents. We barely decorated the chapel because it was so beautiful on its own. The green space outside of the chapel provided a beautiful backdrop for our pictures. The reception area was perfect to seat our 200 guests and provide for enough space to have a dance party. We had so many people tell us how beautiful the ceremony/chapel was, how delicious the food was, and how beautiful the garden ballroom looked for our reception. During dinner, they accommodated all of our guests' food allergies. It was great to have a cocktail hour before the reception while we took our family pictures. People were able to look around the lobby, go to the bar, as well as have fun at our photo booth. I have nothing but great things to say about Brookwood! Katie, our wedding coordinator, was very responsive, organized, and sweet. She was helpful and always willing to answer any questions I had. One of my favorite things is that we used ornaments handmade by Brookwood residents as our wedding favors. It was a special way to give back and incorporate Brookwood in to our wedding. I absolutely loved having our wedding at Brookwood and wish we could do it again!! :)

My husband and I had our wedding here and it was more amazing than we could have asked for! Katie was an excellent planner and I loved every single moment of our big day! Everything was beautiful and just the way we wanted it!

We loved Brookwood as soon as we pulled into the parking lot. The staff was amazing! They knew exactly what to do to make sure the bride has a stress-free day! All of our guest kept commenting about how wonderful the venue was as well as the food. The food was so good! All of our guest loved their signature salad and lemon chicken. I highly recommend this great venue! The price is very reasonable compared to other venues around Houston. The more important part is that you are supporting a community member for a year. You will not regret having your wedding at Brookwood!!

Brookwood Community was a wonderful place to have a wedding & reception. Wedding coordinator Katie and her co-worker, Kellen, were very professional, organized and communicated well with us during the months & days before the wedding day. They provided us with vendors that worked out really well and did a great job. (We highly recommend Cakes by Gina & DJ Brothers!) The chapel is picturesque and accommodated our guests of around 200. The bridal suite was a great place for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready. The Brookwood Community cafe was perfect for the reception. I can't say enough about how wonderful the Brookwood staff was to our guests. We received MANY compliments on the delicious meal and how accommodating the staff were to our guests. All in all, I HIGHLY recommend Brookwood Community for a wedding & reception. We are very grateful for everything they did to make our wedding day so very special!

Our daughter's wedding was beautiful, the chapel is lovely and the gardens surrounding the chapel and Ballroom were meticulous. Our wedding coordinator, Jerri, helped us choose vendors who were fantastic and some gave us Brookwood discounts. We used Rob Milton for our Photographer, Dream Bouquet for flowers, Susie's Cakes for the cake, and PRP Entertainment (DJ - Damon) -- these vendors were all amazing. Many guests told us it was the best wedding they had ever attended. Damon is already booked for all of 2014 and well into 2015, so call early if you want this amazing DJ at your event -- he had everyone on the dance floor for the entire evening. We had a seated dinner with filet mignon and crab cakes -- the service was quick and the food was delicious, prepared by Brookwood's Chef Laura. The very best part of using Brookwood, is that everything over and above expenses, goes to help the differently abled adult residents and staff who live and work at the Brookwood Community. Brookwood takes no money from any government agencies and survives through it's restaurant, plant sales, pottery sales, and weddings.

Brookwood was a wonderful place for our daughter's wedding! We had so many compliments about how nice everything was. Our wedding coordinator was so great...very thorough, knowledgeable, capable and motherly! She took much stress off of our shoulders. We also really liked that Brookwood's cost will help the residents of the Brookwood Community. Like they advertise, "a wedding with a purpose". It was the perfect place for us!

The staff was very helpful and made it easy to enjoy our daughter's wedding without any problems or surprises.

Fabulous venue! It's beautiful and elegant. The food is the best I've ever had at a wedding. My guests were over the top with their praise of everything!

Brookwood provided outstanding service - from the logistics, the meal, room outlay, and service, everything was high quality and professional. The staff were outstanding to work with. They went above and beyond to make our day special.

Brookwood provided a wonderful venue for our daughter's wedding. Very little decorating was needed as the chapel and cafe are already very beautiful. The menu was scrumptious and the staff very professional.

Do not hesitate to book your wedding at Brookwood. The facilities are gorgeous and require minimal decoration. They were easily accessible for our out-of-state guests with ample parking. Brookwood offered many amenities that other venues wanted to charge extra (i.e. audio/light technician; use of their campus for bridal portraits) Their list of recommended vendors is comprehensive. Several venues can make these same claims so let me tell you what sets Brookwood apart:

Any inquiry or request was answered promptly and positively. Jerri Sadowski, our wedding consultant at Brookwood, had excellent ideas to make my daughter's wedding special and unique. When the weather interrupted the plans for the bridal portraits, Jerri worked with the staff who kindly changed their plans so that the Worship Center would be available for our use on a Sunday afternoon allowing my out-of-state daughter to make her flight home that evening.

The food at the reception was over the top and even though I was familiar with Chef Laura and the wonderful food at the Cafe at Brookwood; to be able to bring the same quality to 160 people at a seated dinner was extraordinary. Our guests are STILL talking about the food at the reception!

Brookwood is a venue that cannot be duplicated for one reason: the citizens. Brookwood provides residential and vocational services for adults with disabilities. We met one citizen at our tasting who had the "responsibility" of maintaining the Worship Center. He was so proud of his work and of Brookwood and was so excited we were planning a wedding there. On the day of the wedding, as we were preparing for the ceremony, he stopped by and asked if he could sign the guest book. There is no other venue that would give you the memory of opening your guestbook and the very first signature was the delightful gentleman who had helped prepare the chapel for your wedding. That memory is priceless.

From the first time we met with Jerri Sadowski to tour the venue and talk about their packages it was a stressless process. I was coordinating with Jerri and my daughter in North Carolina through the whole process. Brookwood is a wonderful place to have a wedding and reception. Our guest continued to tell how wonderful the food and service was. We all had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend Brookwood to anyone looking for an affordable but amazing place to have their wedding/reception. Besides all the wonderful things about Brookwood, you would also be helping Special Needs adults live independently and be self supporting. A wedding with a purpose is truly what it would be.

The Brookwood Community was so beautiful and everyone loved the food!

The coordinators at Brookwood are phenomenal. My husband and I worked with both Jerri and Elise, who both made us feel relaxed and flexible with the venue and our ceremony. Even with another wedding following ours, they made sure that we enjoyed the time and didn't feel rushed. From the candles to the altar, guest book table, and the beautiful Bridal Dressing Room, the details provided by Brookwood made it both a bargain venue and stress-free experience. We are so thankful to have had our wedding ceremony at Brookwood! My husband and I also enjoyed supporting the Brookwood Community and plan to visit the cafe and gift store again in the future.

Brookwood Community has a great set up for weddings. The chapel is beautiful and has plenty of space for the wedding party to get ready. The grounds are beautiful and allowed for excellent photos before the wedding. They turn the cafe into a ballroom - complete with a dance floor and bar area. The reception area in the building and the garden area outside allows for plenty of room for guests to mingle after dinner if they aren't on the dance floor. The food was absolutely the best! We received many compliments from guests that it was the best wedding food they had ever had...kudos to the chef at Brookwood. The planning of the entire event was overseen by Jerri, a joy to work with as she took care of all the details. We like the fact that because we held the wedding there, clients that live out at Brookwood will benefit. We knew right away after visiting out there that Brookwood was the perfect venue for the wedding.

Brookwood is a beautiful place to have wedding and to have photos taken. The fact that Brookwood Community serves such a well deserved population and that the money spent there goes to support these services, was the driving factor in our decision to have our daughters wedding and reception there.

They are inclusive in their services. They provided everything except the cake and flowers, but offered many outstanding vendors to choose from. The wedding planner, who is an employee of Brookwood, that we worked with was outstanding in offering suggestions, being available and walking us through every step of preparation and wedding day.

Everyone who attended was very impressed with the setting and the food.

Truly cannot say enough good things about our whole experience with the people of Brookwood.

My daughter was married in the Brookwood Chapel on September 8, 2012. Everything was absolutely perfect! The grounds were beautiful and the Chapel makes the perfect setting for an intimate ceremony and celebration!

Brookwood is not only a beautiful venue but one that of excels in quality and care. Where else can you find a stained glass chapel that is not just a venue but is really a church. Where else are you guaranteed beautiful grounds all year round? Elise Ashey, our coordinator, treated us as if we were the only event she had. She happily answered questions, dealt quickly with concerns and genuinely cared. We opted for a formal, sit-down dinner and she and her staff did a phenomenal job making sure all ran smoothly! And the food! Chef Laura and her staff did an amazing job! Many comments were made on how delicious it was.
Several guest made the remark that they had dreaded "wedding food" but now wanted more! As you can see we were extremely please with our Brookwood experience.

We have received many compliments on how wonderful our wedding was.Everything from our wedding was perfect and we could not have chosen a better place to have gotten married.

My daughter's had a morning wedding ceremony at Brookwood Community Worship Center, with the wonderful help of wedding coordinator Elise. She was very kind and patient, and helped us every step of the way. Elise made sure we were able to get into the chapel at a time to accomodate the makeup and hair appointments early the morning of the ceremony. The bride's room was very clean and spacious with great lighting and mirrors. The ceremony was beautiful and was just what the bride and groom wanted. The chapel is so beautiful, you really don't need to add much in the way of flowers or decorations. We were very pleased with the decision to use Brookwood and definitely recommend it, and especially Elise!

I recently had my wedding at the Brookwood Community and had an amazing experience. After looking at a few other venues in the Katy area, Brookwood not only had the look I wanted but the price I wanted too. A few other places cost thousands of dollars simple to reserve the place and cover landscaping. Brookwood was one of the cheaper venues I found ,and the money goes back into the community to help their residents. My coordinator was Jerri and she did a fabulous job. Lots of helpful ideas and always returned any emails or phone calls. The look of the day was wonderful and I couldn't have imagined my day going any better. Brookwood is very well known for their fabulous lunch, my guests didn't know Brookwood could look so lovely at night. The place really did transform into a ballroom. Also I cannot leave out the food. Chef Laura dd an amazing job during my tasting and the day of the ceremony. Be prepared to be hungry the day of your tasting, its not a sample ,its a full meal! And was delicious which made decieion to be more difficult. The food at the ceremony was also amazing and we had many compliments. Chef Laura even came out of the kitchen to make sure everything was to my liking and that I was happy with the service. Very prefssional and friendly. I really enjoyed working with the whole staff at Brookwood and they gave me an amazing wedding experience.

Best place in Houston and surrounding areas to get married at. Absolutely beautiful church and reception venue. Everyone was extremely accommodating and made the hectic day run smoothly. If you choose to get married anywhere else other than the Brookwood Community you're wasting your time, sanity, and money. 5 STAR service all around. Could not have asked for a better Wedding Day.

Brookwood is a community for adults with disabilities. My aunt lives out there and Brookwood has been such a special place to my family. My husband and I were honored to share this special place with our friends and family. Our guests are still going on and on about our big day. Everyone was so impressed with Brookwood.

First of all, Brookwood is beautiful! It is set back in Brookshire, Texas away from the hustle and bustle of Houston. There are beautiful trees covering the property - great for pictures! And the chapel is stunning! You must go visit and see it for yourself!

The food at our reception was to die for! Brookwood has the most amazing chef who has tons of options for you to choose from and is happy to work with you and create a menu that is perfect for you. One of the hits at our wedding was the avocado bar that allowed guests to top an avocado with toppings of their choice - everyone loved it!

Third, the staff at Brookwood is unbeatable. You will never work with people like this anywhere else. They are incredible - caring, interested, attentive, responsive, creative, and so fun to work with. I, personally, was not the biggest fan of wedding planning :) but working with the staff at Brookwood made wedding planning fun! They are so creative and just want to make your day perfect. The big day went flawlessly - all because of the amazing staff out at Brookwood.

Cannot recommend Brookwood enough. Go visit and take a look for yourself. You will be so happy you did :)

I would highly recommend Brookwood for a wedding ceremony and reception venue!

- The chapel and grounds are absolutely beautiful. They have a truly unique feel, something that you want your wedding to feel like-- its not a wedding factory.

- The reception area is absolutely elegant and can be made to fit any style: from the wrought iron chandeliers, gigantic windows and doors that open the garden and water fall. I have not seen a more picturesque venue.

- THE FOOD ROCKS! Chef Laura is extremely talented and creative. Her food is delicious (we have eaten there many times besides our wedding)! We had "surf and turf"at our reception- fillets and shrimp with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was extremely high quality and our guests were raving. Laura is also open to new ideas and is passionate about providing a great experience. We had our rehearsal dinner the night before at McCormick and Schmicks Seafood and Steak... Brookwood was a fierce competitor on taste and quality and came out ahead of a well known restaurant.

- The staff at Brookwood makes the wedding experience. Jerri is a wonderful person to work with. She has energy, enthusiasm and is FUN! Elise is also wonderful and full of good ideas. The excellent staff at Brookwood extends to the service and kitchen staff. They did a spectacular job (at our wedding and our tasting)! There is nothing that is more irritating than a poor quality service staff-- not the case at Brookwood. Tammy was my favorite!

If you want a truly beautiful, unique, well-managed wedding venue-- Brookwood is the perfect place in Houston!

The only thing more fun and perfect than planning the Brookwood ceremony and reception was actually enjoying the Brookwood ceremony and reception. Alise and the entire Brookwood team surpassed all expectations - no detail was overlooked - outstanding food and presentation, lighting, sound - they know it all and overlooked no little detail. When my mom first suggested that we should get married at Brookwood, I was not very interested. I finally agreed to meet with the coordinator to make my mom happy, and it was the absolute best decision I made in all of my wedding planning. The facilities are gorgeous, the food is beyond delicious, and the cost of the wedding goes to support an incredible ministry. The night was absolutely perfect, and we got many compliments about it being one of the nicest weddings our guests had ever been to and had the best food. I also love that my husband and I can go out to Brookwood for a lunch date or to shop for beautiful gifts to continue to support such an amazing place.

Working with Brookwood was wonderful. Elise and Jerry were so professional, on the ball, and flexible. They helped make my big day absolutely perfect. Best of all, any profit Brookwood made from our wedding helps fund scholarships for the Brookwood citizens. I would highly recommend this venue to others!

I attended a wedding at Brookwood Community and was absolutely stunned by the beauty and excellence of service from the ceremony to the reception. It was like a slice of heaven on earth. I understand that the proceeds from the wedding go to underwrite the community where 200 adults with disabilities live and work....it exceeded my expectations in every way. To think that not only could you have the most elegant wedding in this part of the country, but that the money they spent went to support the people of the community makes it a "win-win".
The food...was over the top. I was concerned about the drive...coming from the Galleria area, however, I will never miss a wedding there. It only took 30 minutes to get there and 0 minutes to park! Even if you do not have a chance to attend a wedding there...go eat lunch and have a tour.

The Brookwood Community is the perfect place to get married! Brookwood has a beautiful worship center, a very helpful staff, and a great cause. I would recommend it to anyone! My husband and I's wedding day ran as smoothly as possible.

Brookwood was absolutely amazing for my wedding. I don't think there was a single request that I had that they said no to. They were so incredibly accommodating, and they really made me feel like my wedding was the first and last one they would ever do. We originally picked Brookwood because we believe in what they do, and we wanted our money to go toward something worthwhile. While I still am grateful for that aspect, even if that hadn't been the case I would do it at Brookwood again in a heartbeat. The value for the money is great, and you won't find more pleasant people to work with. Brookwood truly helped make my wedding the best day of my life!

I attended a wedding at Brookwood last November and I am still talking about it with my friends!! It was one of the most AMAZING weddings I have ever been to!! The atmosphere was great, the food was wonderful, and the place was just beautiful. My friend that was married there talked about how easy the Brookwood staff was to work with and helped to accommodate her every wish! It was definitely a night to remember!

My daughter had her wedding and reception at The Brookwood Community Chapel and Garden Ballroom and it was TOTALLY AMAZING. That night FAR exceeded our expectations and I am still receiving notes from our friends that it was the "BEST wedding they have ever attended". "THE FOUR SEASONS on STEROIDS" was what one friend said and I have to agree. My daughter decided on a formal wedding and elegant reception however, in the process of planning, the staff had some great ideas about a more casual affair with a "TEXAS" theme. The red carpet that was used as they left for the night, lighted with lanterns and candles, was one of the most memorable parts of the evening. She wanted an avocado bar with "all the frills" and they accommodated that (even when avocados weren't in season). We had a dessert bar with "tasters" on individual spoons filled with all the unbelievable desserts that are served at Brookwood. It was a 10 star wedding with a 4 star price tag....and our money was used to help support this wonderful Community for adults with special needs. A truly unique experience with an "over the top" menu with the most incredible staff that you would ever want to work with. It was a "black tie" affair with passed appetizers on silver trays (included in the price of dinner). I can only imagine how awesome a garden wedding would be. We did not have to spend hardly anything on flowers because Brookwood has so many blooming plants that it set the stage for and "affair to remember". They had candles in the garden lighting the paths and outlining the waterfall. Go see Brookwood....you will be inspired on many levels. We had our wedding favors custom made by the citizens of Brookwood. That was one of the most amazing parts...they made custom crosses for us to give our guests. We also made a donation to the Community and had a sign at the sign in table that said "The Elliott Family has made a donation in your honor to the Brookwood Community". I have received several comments saying how meaningful that was. I could go on and on....just check it out!

Brookwood went above and BEYOND in making our wedding day absolutely flawless. We were married in November 2010, and our friends are still talking about the incredible food, gorgeous venue and impecable service. We chose the Brookwood Community as our wedding venue because we knew that we would be helping people with special needs. Brookwood is a God-centered, non-profit community for adults with special needs and it was a joy giving to this wonderful organization. Brookwood holds a special place in our hearts!

My husband and I were blessed to have our wedding at The Brookwood Community on November 13, 2010! We cannot say enough about the wonderful people we worked with and the absolutely beautiful venue. I didn't worry at all on the day of my wedding because there were so many people attending to every detail. The Chapel has gorgeous stained glass throughout that provides an intimate feeling. The atmosphere at the Garden Ballroom was elegant while the food and service exceeded all expectations. I still have people commenting about how beautiful the overall wedding was and I have Brookwood to thank!

The ultimate decision maker for us choosing to have our wedding at Brookwood was the purpose behind Brookwood- to provide functionally disabled adults a place to lead productive lives. It's a great feeling knowing that we helped contribute to this :-)

We celebrated our wedding at Brookwood on May 21, 2011 and LOVED every minute of it!!! So did our guests. The chapel was beautiful (the acoustics are pretty much amazing), the Cafe transformed into the Garden Ballroom at night was stunning! The Brookwood staff are accommodating, professional and attentive to even the most minute detail. We also must mention that Chef Laura is a culinary genius -- we've received many comments along the lines of, "This is the best wedding food we've ever tasted!"

Brookwood is a wonderful place for a wedding ceremony and reception. The Chapel is absolutely beautiful and needs very little added decor. It was very important to my daughter and son-in-law to have the ceremony performed in a church setting, and Brookwood definitely met that requirement. The Cafe is delightful, the food wonderful and Chef Laura will provide multiple options to choose from. During our selection process, we had lunch at the cafe and Jerri, the Brookwood wedding coordinator, made sure we selected several different entrees so that we could sample a variety of selections. They were all WONDERFUL, including the dessert. Jerri joined us and walked us through the entire planning process and options Brookwood offered. We were surprised when we went to pay our bill that the account was already settled. That kind of personal service and kindness won our business. The added benefit of knowing that all proceeds benefits the special needs adults who live on site was the special touch sealed the deal for us! In addition to suggesting several vendors who are familiar with Brookwood, Jerri coordinated the arrival and set-up with all of our vendors. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, the dinner reception was spectacular and our 160 guests raved about the delicious food and beverages. Brookwood was the perfect venue for the wedding and we are still receiving comments and congratulations from our guests saying it was the best wedding they've ever attended. Thanks to Brookwood for making the event "perfect." Brookwood was the perfect venue for our wedding and reception.

This is a great venue, a lovely place filled with wonderful people. The service and food were fantastic and we received many comments from our guests about it being the best wedding food they had ever had. We felt that they cared about us and our event, and not that we were just another event for profit, like at some other venues we visited. We could (as many of our guests also commented) feel the love there. Every little detail was handled so well. Also felt good that profits go to support a faith-centered, and very meaningful cause.

I can't speak highly enough of the Brookwood Community as a vendor for our daughter's April, 2012 wedding. The chapel is lovely and perfectly suited to pretty much any size wedding. We had about 150 guests and even though we didn't come close to filling the chapel seating, we didn't feel like we were 'rattling around.' The arrangement of the pews lends and intimacy to the setting that was very nice.

The two wedding coordinators that Kari and I worked with were excellent. Our initial meeting was with Elise Ashey who did an excellent job of presenting our options and explaining about what to expect with regard to weddings at Brookwood. Later we were privileged to work with Jerri Sadowski who, at that time was relatively new in the position. You would never have known it however, with her attention to detail and her commitment to seeing that we had the best event possible.

With some humor, I noted that some of the younger folks in the wedding party were a little taken aback at what they called her 'drill sargent' approach to making sure that things ran smoothly. That said, some of those same young people sought me out to tell me how smoothly things ran from the beginning of the ceremony to the end of the reception. I can tell you, that as the mother of the bride, I appreciated her willingness to go the extra mile to make sure our ceremony and reception went off without a hitch.

Would I recommend Brookwood for a major event? Absolutely. It is a beautiful facility, the staff and service is top notch, and value for the dollar is excellent. I checked several other venues both online and in person, and I felt like we got a heck of a bargain at Brookwood.

I just want to say that my wedding looked ten times more expensive than it really was, thanks to everyone at Brookwood! They were extremely accommodating and easy to work with. The place is SO beautiful and the chapel is every girls dream, with a red carpet going down the aisle! Before seeing Brookwood, i had never wanted to get married in a chapel, but the first time i walked in, i was speechless. Then the food was amazing! Honestly, everyone at my wedding told me they had never been to a wedding like mine and my mom said after my husband and i left everyone wanted to stay because the reception hall was so beautiful and comfortable. It's definitely worth looking at! You'd also be helping out everyone who lives there which is a major bonus!

We were married about a month ago at the gorgeous Brookwood worship center and celebrated at their reception facilities just down the road. Trust me when I say that you CANNOT go wrong. The entire staff WILL take care of you, especially Mrs. Elise Ashey, the wedding coordinator. In addition, their cause (providing homes and careers for adults with special needs and giving them a sense of pride) makes it a whole lot easier to put all your savings toward one day! My overall expenses at Brookwood for the wedding and reception were around 8K, not including all of the things I purchased myself (cake, decorations, linens, etc) for about 120 guests. They can accommodate many more guests as well!

PLANNING: Incredibly flexible with all aspects; Elise makes sure to ask you about everything that you have not specified to ensure a truly perfect day. There was not one detail that was executed wrong! The only difficult part may be getting the date and time that you want. Their first priority is serving the residents, so holidays and Sundays during their regular church service are usually not possible, as well as during the time when their cafe is open for business (a main source of income for the residents). You gotta respect that! Being flexible on your end, however, is the way to go if there's a conflict.

WORSHIP CENTER: The most amazingly beautiful sanctuary; please see photos at: http://robmilton.blogspot.com/2011/02/beauty-is-light-in-heart-kahlil-gibran.html . It may be a little pricey depending on how much you spend at the reception, but well worth the money.

RECEPTION:

-FOOD: I had multiple guests come up to me and say, "This is the best wedding food I've EVER had"--no joke, it was delicious. My husband and I were even served food in our seat. Told you they take care of you : ). To make your selections, simply go in for a free tasting with a friend or two and ENJOY!

-LINENS: you have to get these on your own, except the buffet/tea tables.

-CHAIRS: Beautiful mahogany chiavari chairs! no need for covers.
-TABLES: 60" round

-DANCE FLOOR: portable; optional and I believe you can make it small if you want.

-OUTSIDE: Behind the reception building (the cafe/gift shop), is their plant shop/garden with little lights along the paths to offer guests a peaceful escape.

-RED CARPET: they laid out a red carpet for our departure!

-TABLE SIGNS: they let me borrow some frames for the table names.

FUN FACT: They let you borrow anything and everything that they might have : ). Many guests donate supplies after their weddings, and they just pass them along for future use!


COMPLAINTS: None. Any little detail that I might complain about is a) too hard to remember, and b) definitely not worth complaining about. The staff is reasonable, friendly, flexible, and ready and willing to do anything is terms of planning and executing. As with anyone, do it with a please and thank you, and you should have the most amazing wedding experience you could have hoped for : )

We had a wonderful wedding at Brookwood! Katie was personable, responsive, and flexible. The chapel was beautiful, especially with the candlelight for an evening ceremony. The cocktail hour space was gorgeous and a big hit with our guests. The reception space fit our 100 guests nicely and had a lovely backdrop of the garden lit up with string lights (an extra package we paid for). Several people told us that the food served, Thai chicken kebabs as a main course, was the best wedding food they had ever had. Brookwood's mission was also a huge highlight of our experience, as our wedding fees helped to support Brookwood Community citizens.

One small note to keep in mind with all wedding vendors is to make sure you're aware of what is in your contract. There was a staff change at Brookwood during our planning process, and because we read our contract carefully, we were able to easily verify all invoices even with the changes happening at Brookwood. Katie was awesome at making sure we got what we were supposed to.

It's a little off the beaten path, but Brookwood is a great venue for both ceremony and reception!

Our wedding day at Brookwood was simply a dream come true. The wedding coordinator worked tirelessly to accommodate our special requests and was very organized. She understood our vision for the big day and I felt very comfortable on the wedding day placing all of the logistics into her capable hands. She also provided recommendations for local vendors, which all turned out to be outstanding.

The Brookwood campus is beautiful and perfect for bridal portraits and day-of wedding party shots. The Brookwood staff is incredibly friendly and a pleasure to work with. And the food is delicious!! It's nothing like typical "wedding food" - all of our guests were very pleasantly surprised by the food quality.

I highly recommend considering Brookwood for your wedding and reception venue. You will not be disappointed! Brookwood really strives to make your wedding day a special day - mine was one I will never forget.

The staff at Brookwood made our wedding more than I could have ever wished for. Katie was organized and efficient. She would listen to our ideas and run with them to make our night the most memorable ever. Katie helped us to enjoy our wedding by taking the stress off of us and overseeing the vendors. My husband and I, our families, and our friends were treated like royalty by the Brookwood staff. They took care of our every need. There is no place else I would rather have had our wedding!

Brookwood provided the wedding of my dreams. The venue was warm and inviting, the food excellent, the service responsive and the value great for what was included. The wedding coordinator, Jerri was very helpful with suggestions and quick to help with our needs. The serving staff was professional and courteous. They did, however, pick up the charger plates too soon. That was minor but I would have liked the chargers on the table for the entire meal as we rented them.

The chapel is a beautiful place for the service and the campus has huge live oak trees that add to the photos. Just a wonderful place for a wedding.

Everything about Brookwood was amazing, professional, and simple. I was initially worried about how casual it looked, but the cafe looked completely different on our wedding day! The staff dimmed the lights and the room looked very romantic with the candles we had as center pieces. They have full length table cloths, but our flower decorator started setting up before Brookwood put the long table cloths on. Our pictures were beautiful, especially with the stained glass in the chapel. The food was the BEST, our tasting was the most enjoyable part of wedding planning! We had a lot of food and even had a lot of leftovers. The food is included at Brookwood, so we didn't have to do additional planning. We had alcohol, but a few people told me the actually preferred Brookwoods Apple Mint Tea- highly recommend trying it! I was initially worried about the small size of the dance floor. Turns out, it was the perfect size! We had about 130 people at the wedding, and the small dance floor meant everyone was in close proximity, which made our reception pictures look fantastic! (SGI photography). Since Brookwood is open to the public, we were able to visit multiple times before the wedding and get ideas on decor and seating. The cherry on top was that every dollar spent went to the welfare of special needs adults!

The Brookwood team came together and made my wedding a beautiful event. The staff member that i was working with quit and no one bothered to pick up my wedding or contact me with the changes. There were a few rough weeks without hearing from anyone and setting up the last 6 weeks before my wedding. Overall I was happy with the experience.

We couldn't have picked a better venue to host our dream wedding than at The Brookwood Community. For my husband and I, having a wedding meant celebrating with our loved ones, of course, but we were very much aware of the cost associated with such an event. Hosting our wedding at a place where we knew the money would go towards a great cause and not just towards lining someone's pockets was a great joy to us. And the fact that the venue was beautiful and the food was magnificent was icing on top of our cake.

Jerri was amazing and made sure that everything was in order. She was a bit late responding to some of my correspondence, but always made sure that everything was done correctly and beautifully. I knew that between Jerri, my mom and my husband that I could relax and that everything would be beautiful.

AND THE FOOD! All of our family loved the appetizers, salad, and the That's Amore chicken that was served. I wish I could package the parmesan risotto and take it to go!

All in all, it was the perfect day, with the perfect food, at the perfect place, with my perfect (for me) groom. You'll definitely want to check out Brookwood for hosting your special day!

Brookwood is a fantastic place to consider having a wedding. Ours turned out beautifully.

Brookwood boasts flexibility, personal touches, and a heavy emphasis on quality customer service. All these things are true, but the flexibility is harder to come by. It's very obvious that there is a way they they prefer - and if you stray, you're the black sheep.

Overall, great location, great venue.

The chapel was beautiful. Fairly well priced however the buffet food was cold.

If I could give less than a star on some of these I would. If you want to kick your shoes off and have a good time both literally and figuratively, this isn't the venue for you. The lack of organization is astounding. We didn't even know what time we had to be at the wedding until the rehearsal and I was in the wedding. The coordinator Katie had no clue and had little to no communication with the rest of the vendors ie photographer and DJ in terms of timing and event detail (the photographer almost missed the cake cutting because she never told them when it was happening!). The exit was poorly timed and horribly planned and my mother, the mother of the bride mind you, was asked to put her shoes back on after she took them off to be more comfortable dancing. I could go on and on but suffice to say they need to step up their game and find a more professional staff.
