    Above and beyond

I hosted my shower at The Briarcliff Manor, and it was perfect! I received so many compliments from my guests regarding the food, and the service was top-notch. The venue itself is stunning, with a beautiful atmosphere that made the day feel extra special. I had the pleasure of working with Kelsey, Emily, and Stephanie, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was flawless. The decor by Vincenza added the perfect touch to bring the whole vision to life. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

    Like celebrating with Family

From the moment I walked into the Manor it was like I was at home. Working with Perry and the admin team was easy. They were able to address any and all concerns I had, and even anticipated needs and wants for my day. Working with team, was like working with family. When I arrived on the day of the celebration, I felt like I was coming home. The staff was professional and friendly, and they also anticipated our needs. The views are incredible and the building stunning. All my guests loved the time they spent at The Manor.

    The Briarcliff Manor's reply:

Thank you Jamie for sharing such a beautiful review about your time here with us at the manor! We aspire to treat all of our couples and their guests with the warmest welcome and like a part of the family. We hope to help celebrate more of your special days in the future!

    An Unforgettable Experience

We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our wedding! From start to finish, the service was exceptional—every detail was carefully attended to, and the staff- Perry, Vincenza, Emily, Stephanie, Alex and the rest of the team, made us feel truly special. And a special shot out to chef Peter for the AMAZING food- guests are still raving! What really stood out, though, was how much the team made us feel like family. They went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, and their warmth and personal touches made our day even more memorable. We are so grateful for such an amazing experience and would highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a spectacular place to celebrate their love!

    The Briarcliff Manor's reply:

Thank you, Kelsey for sharing your experience and we're so glad we could help make your wedding dreams come true. It truly means so much to us and we couldn't be happier that you loved our hospitality and cuisine. Cheers to you and Jason!

Great Food & Top Notch Service!

My husband, Sal and I hosted our wedding at the Briarcliff Manor on Sunday, May 5th and I couldn't have imagined a more perfect celebration! Perry, Vincenza, Alex and the rest of the Briarcliff Manor team were amazing! From planning to execution, they were super attentive, responsive and most important of all understanding of the style of event we were trying to put on for our guests. The Manor is beautiful and the food top notch - not to mention plentiful (they feed us from the moment we got there until the second we left). I can't possibly thank the Briarcliff Manor team enough for executing the perfect day for us and our guests!

    The Briarcliff Manor's reply:

Thank you so much, Gabby! We absolutely loved celebrating with you! We appreciate your kind words and thank you for choosing us to celebrate your wedding day. We hope to have you back at the manor in the future for another event!

    Good wedding day, bad communication

Got married here fall of ’23 and have been taking our time thinking about what and how to describe our experience. For context, we are quite familiar with the area and NYS, and at the time of our planning, lived a number of hours away by car.

    DISCLAIMER:
IF YOU ARE: planning a very traditional wedding, and/or are taking a hands-off approach to planning, and/or are in a situation where budget is not a concern and you have a number of planning supports, this will likely be an ideal venue for you, and that is great; I am happy for you!
IF YOU ARE: anxious about planning, taking a hands-on approach, budget-conscious, navigating a lot of things yourself, and ESPECIALLY if you are planning to do anything at all that is non-traditional, read on.

I’ll start with positives. They say “it all starts with great food,” and they’ve got us there. It does take pressure off knowing that all your food is in-house. That included a tasting, signature cocktail and bar, cocktail hour apps, desserts, and some flexibility in terms of what items went where, and when dinner started. The view was fantastic. The venue itself is also great looking and recently underwent some upgrades (the ballroom opened up in the back by large windows, and a refinished floor).

On the day of our wedding, everything went just about as perfectly as we could have imagined. We particularly thank Erica and Stephanie for their attention to detail for us and our guests, and that they made us feel like we were truly in the middle of one of our most meaningful days, as well as an excellent group of staff including servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and everyone else that made things happen on the day of.

So, you might ask, what could have possibly been a negative?

Up to and including the day before the wedding you could have asked me, do you think this’ll go well, or do you think this’ll be a disaster? And my guess would have been 50/50. The reason for this is due to large gaps in and lack of communication with venue management prior to our wedding. We booked far in advance, and figured communication would improve starting the year of our wedding, more so about 6 months out. Additionally, we signed up for day-of wedding coordination via the venue as an additional service, which included “bi-weekly calls 3 months out from your wedding date.”

Things did not seem to improve. We regularly had to follow up, CC general emails, follow up again. When we got to day-of coordination meetings, not only did we start late, but they felt rushed. Our coordinator experienced personal family obligations during 2023, of which we are of course sorry for and understanding around. And, it is notable that issues were occurring regularly across our entire planning process, not just at that time. Typically, the responses we received were acknowledging that it has been very busy with weddings. But this is the venue’s bread and butter, no? And, we did manage to always get timely reminders, both automated and personal, about when next payments were due.

I had to sub out calls for “20 questions” style lists of both broad and specific topics, multiple times, within weeks of our date to get info on how vital details of our day would go, including menu and timeline. The fact that we designed and supplied our own decor added to the stress, despite the fact that setup was included in our day-of coordination cost (we ended up opting to set decor up ourselves the day of; we did not trust the setup would be completed properly).

The lack of effective communication and planning left us feeling anxious and frustrated directly leading up to our wedding. We felt with booking with lots of time to spare and adding day-of coordination that we would be relieved leading up to our wedding, not feeling intense dread. Every other vendor we worked with was great, and as responsive as you would want. Looking at reviews, I have seen that others have shared similar experiences. It sounds from other reviews, other times things do go smoothly. I’m happy for those couples. Maybe you’ll get lucky. Or, maybe not.

    My Dream Winter Wedding!

Hey! I’m Stephanie and I got married on March 4, 2023. I’m not sure where to begin about explaining how amazing this day was.
From the beginning of the planning process to the big day, everything was just so seamless and smooth. I was under a year away from my wedding date when I booked The Briarcliff Manor and usually that would be nerve wracking but the whole team helped me along the way!
I’ve always dreamt about my wedding and it felt like my vision of it may be out of my reach but I can’t say it enough, The Briarcliff Manor made it come true and even exceeded my dreams! All my friends and family were telling us how gorgeous the venue is. The food to this day is something that always comes back up in conversation, especially the brisket tacos! We even had a cousin that came up to us during the wedding that stated how they would love a wedding just like ours.
A special shout-out to Emily for helping me not to overthink the little details and to assure me that everything will be beautiful, and it sure was!
The Briarcliff Manor Team calmed my nerves, made us feel like family and made my wedding day one that we will never forget!
Words will never be enough to explain how thankful we are!

    Amazing Venue, Caring Team

The staff at The Briarcliff Manor were an incredible team to work with throughout our wedding day! Alex, Kelsey, Emily and Perry were all extremely attentive and on top of any and every issue that possibly arose that day, taking all that pressure off of my husband and I. The ceremony was moved indoors due to weather and it was still absolutely beautiful and the entire day was more than we could have asked for. If you're looking for a beautiful venue with a team of people who are genuinely there to help make your day as memorable and beautiful as possible than look no further than The Briarcliff Manor. Even two months later, guests are still raving about food, the beauty of the venue and how smooth the day ran. We are so happy that we chose The Briarcliff Manor and their amazing team!

    The Briarcliff Manor's reply:

Thank you, Briana for sharing your wedding day experience with us at The Briarcliff Manor! We're so happy your wedding day was everything you dreamed of.
We always strive to ensure that the day runs as seamless as possible and our couple gets to be fully present in celebrating with their loved ones. Congratulations again!

    Best wedding venue!

If you’re on the fence about booking a wedding venue location, this is your sign to book with The Briarcliff Manor!!! My husband and I recently had our wedding reception at The Briarcliff Manor in September of 2023 and it exceeded our expectations in every way! We opted to hire Emily King as our day of wedding coordinator, and we’re so happy we did! She is so organized, always two steps ahead, anticipating our every want/need. She helped with coordinating all of our vendors (photographer, DJ, flowers, cake, decor, etc.). She created an extremely detailed day of itinerary for us. She also made everything run so smoothly the day of. The day of the wedding, my husband and I did not have to pay any attention to timing/coordination, as Emily had it under control. Emily made sure the bride and groom could just enjoy the day and be present in every moment. The food was so delicious and abundant! The Briarcliff Manor is so beautiful and picturesque inside and outside. Overall, 10/10 experience! So grateful for the whole Briarcliff Manor team!

    The Briarcliff Manor's reply:

    Hi Lauren!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
On behalf of Emily and the entire Briarcliff Manor staff, we thank you for choosing us and we're so pleased you and Steven were able to be fully present on your special day. Thank you again and we wish you all the best!

    Magical Briarcliff Mansion

The Briarcliff Manor was an absolutely magical venue to hold our wedding of 120 guests this past September. We were seeking a castle or mansion setting for our wedding, and The Briarcliff Manor fit the bill perfectly with its classic Roman columns and grand, white exterior. When we arrived to first visit the venue for a tour in January, we had to envision what it would look like with more foliage and warmer temperatures. In addition, the floors were being refinished, meaning we could only see the main party room through its glass windows. Maybe it’s cliche, but we got that positive feeling and we could quickly tell this was going to be the setting of our dream wedding very early on. Working with Emily and Perry to review their wedding packages and negotiate our minimum head count and price was easy. We were thrilled that some prime dates in Sept of 2023 were available and we put our faith in them to help us put on a great wedding.

The team at The Briarcliff Manor have things down to a well oiled machine and it was easy to follow along in the planning process and their milestones. For the most part we took the initiative to plan everything we needed to do to put together all our vendors and details, but they were there for recommendations and guidance as needed. At times, the busy wedding season kept the team occupied and slowed down their response turnaround time, so be aware that that can be an issue for anxious couples that need more hand-holding along the way. Overall though, it was easy to work with Emily, Perry, and Stephanie to bring together a fully planned event.

On the day of our wedding, I couldn’t say more positive things about how perfectly the staff executed to plan. The personal and detailed touches we imbued our wedding with were implemented with great care and turned out beautifully. Perry and Emily are hands on during events, and were amazing to see help take care of our guests and quality control all aspects of the services. Isabella, our Bridal Attendant was on top of keeping us to schedule, and always taking care of us as Bride and Groom with food and drinks. That too often trope of Brides and Grooms not getting to eat during their wedding didn’t happen here thanks to the team! We couldn’t be happier with how our wedding went, and we receive nothing but rave remarks from our guests as well. Thanks to the team at The Briarcliff Manor, our dream wedding became reality.

    The Briarcliff Manor's reply:

    Hi Christopher!
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're so pleased you loved your experience with us and your dream wedding came true!
We're so happy you saw our vision while we were renovating. We put a big focus on constantly improving our space. Congratulations again and we wish you all the best!

    Katie G. - 9/23/23

We just had our wedding at briarcliff and it was the most amazing day of our lives! Despite the rain, the whole team at Briarcliff including Emily, Perry, Vincenza, Stephanie and Kelsey were incredible and made our indoor ceremony just as spectacular. The day couldn’t have been more incredible from the beautiful decor and food to the detailed planning that made everything run seamlessly. We decided to do day of coordination services as well and Emily made such a detailed timeline and itinerary that every one of our vendors that we met with leading up to the wedding complimented how organized everything already was. We literally did not have to do a thing on our wedding day which made it so stress free. They anticipated every need, brought us upstairs for alone time to enjoy a meal during part of cocktail hour, and prepared everything from the set up of our guest book and seating chart to our exit and everything in between. We couldn’t be more grateful to Emily and everyone at Briarcliff for the most amazing day!

    Think twice

Was inspired to finally tell my story about my wedding at The Briarcliff Manor by another bride who waited. Years after my wedding and this debacle is still the first thing I think of when people ask about my special day-it's sad really.
This place started off great. When I went to check it out I was told the weird bump outs by the backdoor would be going away and the rear of the main room was going to be expanded. This never happened and I've been told as of today it still hasn't been done. Be aware of this as some of your tables will most likely be in their own world cut off from the rest of the party. The food was amazing and the man who was dedicated to my husband and I the day of-Jimmy or Robert?-was amazing. Taylor who helped closer to the day of was also amazing-don't think she's there anymore. Emily who is also a planner or helper was pretty useless.

From day 1 I was pressured to use the owner's wife Vincenza's wedding decor services which I declined. She's really was just a middle man between the bride and her choice of vendors from whom I'm sure she gets kickbacks. Whatever, if that's your thing fine, but don't fault me for wanting to plan the wedding myself. I happen to enjoy that part. After declining her services, it was problem after problem-funny how that works. Suddenly all the options I wanted like nice tablecloths and napkins were going to be extra.

I decided to bring my own gold chargers since Vincenza was trying to charge me $2/plate to "rent" hers ($2/pate x 120). I ended up buying them for $1 each at the dollar store so I could at least keep them after. After they were made aware they tried to charge me a $100 labor fee to "wash and pack up" the chargers for me. I declined that since they weren't going to be eaten on.

I was told a week before my wedding that as per Perry, my flower arrangements could not have water in the vases. This was when the insane behavior really picked up. This sparked an emergency visit from me to inquire as to why on earth flower arrangements could not have water in them? My flowers which were being dropped off in the morning would have been dead by the time we got to the reception. It was just little things like this that they made up out of the blue that caused me unnecessary stress. I went up there to speak to Perry and he changed his tune immediately when I brought up that there is no way that was in the contract that we both signed. I was then told that since the vases were tapered that water was allowed LOL. Truly unhinged.

The day of my wedding I had to have a close friend of mine go to set everything up since I truly did not trust these people to set up place cards, decor or really anything. I was told Vincenza was watching my friend the entire time and I would not have put it past her to sabotage my decor if I didn't have someone there. They didn't lift a finger to help my friend-guess that would've been an extra charge.

The story really kicks off at the end of the reception. Everything the day of went well-no complaints. At the end of the reception my brother took a beer off the bar as everything was being closed down. I understand this shouldn't have been done, however in the grand scheme I don't think it was a huge deal when we're spending $20k to have a reception there and we brought our own wine. This prompted a truly unhinged reaction from the owner Perry who I was told by several people has been standing at the bar drinking all night. He began irately screaming at my family members that they were "disrespecting his house". In the midst of this my mother in law and another guest were pushed by Perry as they were attempting to break up this encounter. Perry's own staff were trying to drag him into his office, but he was like a caged animal. My guests were also irate that family members had been pushed and others were crying. My wedding night ended with people screaming and Perry calling the police stating that he was assaulted. All of this in front of my elderly grandparents who were appalled.

I received an email a few days later from Perry apologizing for what transpired at my wedding. Interesting coming from someone who "was assaulted". Nothing ever came from the police being called, but it was super fun driving past them with their lights and sirens as I was leaving my own wedding reception.
I was actually warned about this place from a bride who had a similar experience, however that came a bit to late as I had already put my deposit in. I'm writing this to hopefully prevent it from happening to someone else. There are plenty of other great places to choose from where the owners can differentiate between their actual home and their place of business. This is a day you can't get back so please think twice if you want that memory tainted forever.

    The Briarcliff Manor's reply:

We’d like to start by acknowledging that we apologize for any mishaps or challenges created by us and our staff. That was never our intent. At the end of the day, we are glad you had a great wedding, enjoyed the food and the service. There are a few points that we believe need some clarification.

In the 5 years since your wedding, we’ve hosted Hundreds of Successful Weddings, brought on new wonderful staff and improved many of our operations and policies – as we’re a growth/improvement focused company. We’re not perfect – however, we learn from every experience.

In regards to the room expansion, unfortunately, we were denied this improvement by the town in the final stages– however, this renovation was not promised or part of your contract. In the last five years, we’ve renovated much of our museum like facility – expanding these wings to improve usability and visibility, along with many improvements to the interior and external of our facility.

In regards to vendor policies/floral/DIY policies, we include all of the policies in our contract, and in recent years, have buttoned up our policies to be very clearly communicated far in advance to all clients and vendors alike. These policies are rooted in safety our your guests, our staff and our historic building.

In regard to Perry “drinking all night”, we must deny this claim. This has never and will never be the case for any wedding/event held at our facility. This is an aggressive and untrue comment.

Regarding the altercation – in 700+ weddings, this has been the only time police have ever been called to the site. While we acknowledge things got out of hand, we must shed light that inebriated guests went behind the Closed Bar and illegally took alcoholic beverages. The situation escalated as they were told not to do so, on both sides. In the five years since your wedding, our bar policies have been strengthened immensely. Our bar is now roped off when closed, and monitored by staff.

Once again, we apologize that your experience was not as you had hoped. While we always strive to provide a wonderful experience for our couples and their families, we’re not perfect, and don’t claim to be, weekend after weekend we show up and give it our all. From every experience we learn and grow. We’re always available to discuss further and can be reached at the office.

The Briarcliff Manor is Pure Elegance!

We planned a wedding in two months and The Briarcliff Manor made that happen. This place stands out from all other venues. It is so elegant and beautiful! The grounds are gorgeous for an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. Everyone loved the river view during the ceremony. The setting was absolutely stunning and perfect for pictures.
The team was extremely helpful with every detail. We could not have done it without Perry, Emily and Vincenza. My bridal attendant, Stephanie, was the best! She was one step ahead of any needs. I could not recommend her enough.
The cocktail hour and food was amazing, and the guests all expressed how delicious the food was. The guests also mentioned how great their servers were at each table.
I would definitely use The Briarcliff Manor for other celebrations.

    Mixed feelings

The Briarcliff Manor is a lovely venue, well-maintained with gorgeous grounds and a beautiful interior. For 75 guests, it provided the perfect space for a cozy and intimate wedding. Throughout the entire event, there were plenty of staff members on hand to ensure everything ran smoothly and according to schedule. At some moments, we felt slightly rushed, but their efficiency was certainly undeniable. The food was delicious, and guests were particularly impressed with the cocktail hour offerings. It’s worth keeping in mind that while the reception tables can seat up to twelve people, they’re actually quite cramped with even eleven. Nine to ten people per table worked better and allowed everyone more space.
The wedding was overall quite successful owing to the venue’s high level of organization and experience, and we deeply appreciated that the staff gave us an extra hour to fit in a few more photos, despite being tired from a long week of work. My bridal attendant Stephanie was also amazingly courteous and patient, making sure I had everything I needed and offering assistance until the very last minute. One of the servers, Jimmy, was especially attentive and very sweet—he was mentioned to me by several guests.
However, collaborating with this venue was quite frustrating for me, and the stress of the entire planning process was greatly exacerbated by lack of communication on the venue’s side. I do understand this was one of their busiest seasons, and they were definitely swamped with work, so slow replies were to be expected. Still, I had to constantly reiterate questions and requests, especially the ones sent through the client portal, which were seemingly ignored or not received most of the time. Even in the days leading up to the wedding, there was virtually no communication, and we received almost no replies to emails or texts.
I also didn’t feel the venue was particularly accommodating throughout the planning process, and there seemed to be many restrictions in place, although we were allowed relatively more freedom the day of. At some point between cocktail hour and reception, perhaps while the tables were being moved, the reception place cards became completely disarranged. Luckily, my friends discovered and rectified the situation, but the staff members were initially unhappy with them, claiming that the placement was correct. One staff member was seen speaking rudely to some of my guests, even losing her temper momentarily.
Additionally, the venue neglected to follow through in some aspects—we paid for 81 guests and were promised during the final meeting that we would receive takeaway meals in compensation for the 6 who did not come. However, those meals were not packed for us and, being in a huge rush to leave, we didn’t remember to ask. I had assumed the coordinator would have made the appropriate arrangements to honor our agreement, but I was sadly disappointed. Similarly, the venue agreed earlier to provide a gold cake stand, but upon learning that our baker (a family friend) had brought one herself, immediately told us their own cake stand would require a rental fee.
Perhaps I was just unlucky to have booked my event during such a busy time, when the venue was too overworked to take care of all the details. The wedding was still very enjoyable, and I appreciate the venue and its staff for their hard work in making my big day a success.

    Wonderful Wedding Experience!

We had our wedding on 06/16/2023 at the Briarcliff Manor and we absolutely LOVED it! We knew immediately upon visiting the venue for the first time that we would be getting married here. The venue itself is stunning, and the outdoor ceremony space has amazing views. It was exactly the vision we had for our wedding!
The entire team at Briarcliff Manor are amazing - both Perry and Emily and the rest of their team made our experience seamless and they were all so lovely to work with. Perry was there the whole night to ensure the guests had a great experience. Emily was fabulous the day of the wedding and ensured everything ran smoothly. Vincenza did our florals, from the reception room to the outdoor ceremony space, and it was all beautiful! She truly captured everything we were looking for. Alex was our bridal attendant who was absolutely wonderful - truly couldn't have imagined the day without her!!

Highly recommend Briarcliff Manor - they will go above and beyond to ensure your wedding day is truly the most special day ever!

    The Briarcliff Manor's reply:

    Amazing and 1000% recommend

My husband and I got married on April 14 and we cannot express how amazing everyone at The Briarcliff Manor was. From the beginning, Emily was very professional, informative, and honest - she is also the sweetest person. She made us feel comfortable and truly, helped us stay organized throughout the planning process. She made wedding planning A LOT less stressful.

Our guests are still complimenting us on the food served - it was SO good from cocktail hour through dinner and dessert, we don’t have the words to how happy we were with the food. Delicious with a beautiful presentation.

At the wedding, I was feeling a bit sick… not only did Emily step in to save the day but so did her sidekick Stephanie. They both really got my emotions together (lol) and we’re helpful, patient, and understanding through it all. They promised to make the day amazing, and truly it couldn’t have been better.

If I could do it over, I would have my wedding at The Briarcliff Manor again. It was wonderful, and we couldn’t be happier.

Oh, THE PICTURES ARE STUNNING! Such a beautiful venue with a beautiful backdrop and really, really good lighting everywhere.. haha!

My husband and I highly recommend The Briarcliff Manor and working with their team.

Emily - we cannot thank you enough!!!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and those beautiful photos! We appreciate all your kind words and we're so happy you had a stress-free planning process with us. We wish you all the best! Congratulations and we hope to have you back at the manor for future events!

    Amazing Wedding Experience

Note we are not writing this because we are getting paid / got a discount for our wedding. We simply had an amazing experience and want to share it given selecting a venue is such a big decision. We got married at The Briarcliff Manor in April and had an overall fantastic experience with the whole process. When we were shopping wedding venues a year beforehand, The Briarcliff Manor stood out from the start. It wasn’t just the beautiful manor and backdrop that blew us away, but the staff as well – Perry, Vincenza, and especially Emily King, who we hired as our day-of coordinator. They all made us feel very welcome from the start, and that continued throughout the entire planning process and with every in-person visit that we made. They were very responsive and also extremely flexible and accommodating with our requests. While they have a few different wedding packages to choose from, they were happy to continue customizing everything as we worked to finalize our guest count. We are both big foodies and can say that all the food here was incredible (our guests also raved about the food). The staff were all extremely respectful and the whole reception felt very ‘homey’ (my drink was never empty). Perry was even there the whole time to make sure everything was running smoothly. Safe to say everyone had an amazing time!

As mentioned, we hired Emily as our day-of coordinator and that was easily the best decision we could have made. A day-of coordinator, at a minimum, is essential to being able to enjoy your wedding day. From several months out, Emily started coordinating periodic update meetings with us to help her get a better sense of how we imagined things and which vendors we were thinking about using. She also gave us her recommendations / experience with everything, which proved helpful as she had a good rapport with many of the vendors we ended up using. She always catered to our availability, whether our check-in calls be late at night or over the weekends as we both have busy schedules and live in NYC.

As we got closer to wedding day, Emily coordinated directly with all of our vendors – sending them the schedule of events, delivery schedules, etc. She even helped deliver our wedding favors to our hotel herself. And on our wedding day, it unfortunately was raining, but Emily already had Plan B in motion from the start. She personally delivered breakfast for the bridal party, and her assistants helped coordinate the shuttle transportation for the guests. Emily also personally came to our hotel to pick up the wedding dress and anything else we needed to bring to Briarcliff Manor (she made sure everything was under her direct watch). Throughout the day, Emily and her team made sure we were both fed and relaxed. She would help sneak us away a few minutes before the next portion of events so we could enjoy a few bites and just have some time to ourselves. Without her, I’m not so certain that we would’ve found time to enjoy the hors d’oeuvres with so many guests to say hi to. But we were definitely glad we were able to find time to enjoy the food because it was all so good!

Long story short, beautiful venue with caring and respectful staff. I would recommend The Briarcliff Manor to all of my family / friends and would highly encourage everyone to hire Emily as a day-of coordinator – it will make your day better and more relaxed!

Amazing Wedding at The Briarcliff Manor

We had our wedding reception at The Briarcliff Manor in November 2022, and it was AMAZING! We highly recommend using The Briarcliff Manor as your wedding reception venue: Emily (the director of events) and her team did a fabulous job every step of the way!

We immediately fell in love with the historic manor: it exuded classiness, tradition, and elegance. We were impressed with the food and beverages offerings, which exceeded those of their competitors. We also appreciated the location, about 30 minutes south of West Point, NY, where we held our wedding ceremony, and 15 minutes north of Tarrytown, NY, where we reserved our room block. Emily King answered all of our questions and was very patient and helpful throughout the consultation process. She provided a list of recommended vendors with whom the venue had worked with in the past, and all of these vendors were excellent.

The food was delicious. During our tasting (approximately 3 months before our wedding), we sampled many different options. Their bartender provided samples of two unique cocktails they could make, and was open to suggestions. This ultimately allowed us to choose a Trader Vic's original Mai Tai (think rum punch, without the dark floater) as our signature cocktail. They provided numerous options for our guests with gluten intolerances and our vegetarian/vegan friends and family. Selecting the foods was easy, and Emily and her team answered all of our questions along the way.

On the day of, the venue looked beautiful! We did a lot of the decor ourselves, and Emily worked with us to pre-position decorations and flowers so that we had less to do day-of. We did our own DIY florals (from Costco), which turned out beautifully. One small surprise for us was the venue's "setup fee," which surfaced after a consultation with Vincenza, their in-house design specialist. The setup fee was about $500 for DIY flowers. However, Vincenza was able to rent us linens, chargers, vases, and a cake stand, which helped reduce our burden. We had to constantly reiterate our vision to Vincenza, but luckily Emily and our MC were able to make it a reality.

Our cocktail hour was outdoors, on their beautiful back lawn overlooking the Hudson River. The Briarcliff Manor put out more than enough heat lamps (like you see in outdoor restaurant seating) and built a medium-sized bonfire in the fire pit. The amount of food and beverages for the cocktail hour was exceptional: there was so much! All of our guests raved about the food and beverage options at the cocktail hour.

The ballroom looked stunning. The team made our vision of a classy, elegant, yet cozy wedding come to life - no easy feat when you have 140+ guests! Table service was prompt and attentive. Our guests ordered their meals at the table, which helped eliminate the hassle of pre-ordering via guests' RSVPs. The kitchen did a phenomenal job getting everyone's meals out on time. Chris, the maitre'd, kept everything running smoothly. He and our MC perfectly timed everything so that guests could eat, dance, and drink throughout the night.

We want to point out a few things for out-of-town couples. We communicated pretty effectively with Emily and The Briarcliff Manor team via email throughout our 11-month planning process. We made regular payments in-person (about every 3 months) and were generally able to schedule those payments with a consult, or a vendor fair, etc. The Briarcliff Manor graciously offered us a cash discount. They also offered a $5 per person incentive, which we applied to a special option (lamb) for our cocktail hour. We had to be very clear about our DIY plans and vision, especially because it was out of the norm for Vincenza, but everything worked out well. Emily was fantastic to work with: thank you for all your help!

We loved our wedding at The Briarcliff Manor: thank you for an exceptional event!

Couldn't have asked for a more perfect day

From the moment we walked into Briarcliff, we knew this was the venue for us. Beyond just "a feeling" - everything objectively speaking was on point - the service (shout out to Emily King), the food, and the day of help exceeded all expectations.

    Delightful

My husband and I visited 4 different venues before the Briarcliff manor. As we drove into the lot we were so amazed of how beautiful the manor is and once we stepped inside we were in AWE. I mean the place is beautiful insides and out.

Once we sat with Emily and Vincenza, they both thoroughly explained how they can bring our vision to life and we were IN LOVE. We knew this was it and the search had come to an end!!

They stressed how the food was as IMPORTANT to them as the decor/look, and for us that was music to our ears! We are family oriented and the Briarcliff Manor made our wedding day both BIG and intimate. I worked personally with them for months, and I am so grateful for their patience because I called for every little thing and they always made time for me. My family and my friends couldn’t get enough of the place and all their service! They were so kind, respectful, attentive. Everything felt so easy because Emily and Vincenza had my back!!!

I recommend the manor to all of my friends/family. I know I would be planning any event here!!!

    An Absolute Dream Experience

My husband & I got married at The Briarcliff Manor in September and were just blown away by our experience. Emily, Perry, and the staff handled all of our requests with grace, and left my husband & I completely stress-free on our big day.

The wedding ceremony backdrop is STUNNING. Your guests will get to watch you at the altar surrounded by the Hudson Valley landscape.

Our guests were also raving about the food. Everything from cocktail through dessert received positive reviews.

We also used Vincenza for our decor and a beautiful altar arch floral backdrop. She was so professional and kind, and produced amazing work!

I would highly recommend The Briarcliff Manor to anyone who is still searching for their perfect venue. You will not be disappointed!

    Outstanding.!!!!!

My husband and I recently got married at the Briarcliff Manor on November 3. Our wedding was perfect, and the outcome was better than we envisioned thanks to the venue’s entire team. We had nothing but positive experiences with the Briarcliff Manor since the day we went to inquire about the venue. The staff were all professional, friendly, and attentive. Perry, Vincenza and Emily made us both feel welcomed and as if we were part of family since the day we chose the Venue.

We decided to chose Vincenza for the decorations, and she did an amazing job with everything. She was very attentive to detail, she understood my vision, provided great input, and worked with our budget.

All our meetings with Emily went well. She is very friendly, professional and accommodating as well. She always explained everything to us thoroughly and answered all of our questions. The day of tasting was incredible. Everything we ate during the tasting was spectacular, making it difficult to narrow down the options. She provide a great input for us to design our menu.

The wedding day went flawlessly thanks to the venue’s day of coordinators, the bridal’s attendants and the groom’s attendants. We would like to give a special thank you to Stephanie and Chris, who went above and beyond that day. Stephanie and Chris were on top of everything, and they made sure the wedding went as scheduled. They were like two angels sent from above. Thanks to them we did not have to worry about anything that day.

We would also like to thank all the other staff such as the waiters, the bartenders and the kitchen staff who all provided excellent service. They all made the experience a memorable one.

We would definitely recommend this venue to any couple. We were very pleased with our experience at The Briarcliff Manor, and once again, thank you all, Perry, Vincenza, Emily, Kelsey, Stephanie, Chris and the rest of the Briarcliff Manor team.
