The Bertram Inn Reviews

My husband and I are from California but decided to get married in October 2024 in Northeastern Ohio. Our reception was held at the Bertram Inn and Conference Center - what a wonderful place to hold our event!

Trying to coordinate my wedding/reception from over 2,000 miles away was challenging but working with Alex Shaffer-Rondinella and her team made the whole process easy and enjoyable. Throughout the many months of planning, Alex was professional, friendly, patient, knowledgeable, answered my many questions and always got back to my right away. She went out of her way to accommodate any request that I had, if it was at all possible to do so. Everything I asked for was taken care of. The ballroom where our event was held looked gorgeous; the wedding cake was more beautiful than I could have imagined and everyone who attending had a wonderful time.

My husband and I are thrilled at how our reception/after party turned out. Honestly, everyone should be lucky enough to work with Alex and her team at the Bertram - they're fantastic! I can't say enough good things about my experience and if there was a way to give Alex and her team a 6+ star review, I would.

Such an AMAZING venue! Everything was perfect! Alex, our coordinator, was amazing! The food was amazing! The cake was stunning and delicious! The wait staff and bartenders were super friendly! Its easy to dress up this venue and make it your own. We have had so many people that attended our wedding tell us that it was the most fun they have had at a wedding and the most beautiful wedding they have seen. This venue is such a great value and is completely full service. You really don't have to worry about anything but music, décor, and what you're wearing.. I can't recommend them enough! I hope we get to attend another wedding at this venue!

We had a very large wedding reception with 300 guests at The Bertram and it was amazing!! Everyone spoke highly of how beautiful everything was, as well as good food and drinks. Our coordinator Alex and the GM Frank worked well with our wedding Planner Maria from Elegant Events by Maria to make sure everything went smooth and ran on time. An amazing evening from beginning to from end.

We chose the Bertram because we knew how much of a phenomenal job they do. My sister had her reception in the main building years ago and we had ours in the Annex. Wonderful work by Alex and her team. It was a beautiful day and the team did an amazing job preparing everything for our wedding. The food was delicious and they way they decorated the annex was just beautiful. Hotel accommodations and brunch the next morning were great! Would definitely recommend the Bertram to anyone for their event!

I just had my wedding reception at the bertram inn a couple days ago, and I would highly, highly recommend it to other brides looking for a classy, beautiful venue. Brenda, the on-site coordinator, is amazing. She has been doing this job for 20 plus years, and her knowledge clearly shows. Everything was flawless. They work with you and try to do whatever they can to make the day special go go smoothly. They are so accommodating and attentive. Food was also incredible. The guests all raved about it!

The Bertram saved our wedding! We had to change reception venue 1 week prior to our wedding date do to unforeseen issues and the Bertram came to the rescue. Everything was flawless - from the decorations, rebooking the guest rooms, the food, atmosphere, etc- we believe this was a huge blessing in disguise. The staff was incredible to work with. We cant thank you enough for saving what could have been a disasterous day!

Although The Bertram is on the more expensive side of venues it is well worth the price. You get a professional wedding coordinator that helps you with everything happening there. (I suppose this is especially helpful if you have both your ceremony and reception there - although I did not do that). We worked with Brenda during my planning process and she was so helpful and accommodating. She did a great job helping us plan our reception. The staff at the Bertram did a fantastic job executing everything. They set up my centerpieces exactly how they were in the picture I sent and executed every detail. Everything looked perfect and I could not have imagined anything more perfect! Thank you so much Brenda and Bertram staff.

**We also stayed in their Getaway Cottage for the beginning of our honeymoon and highly recommend it! It is so beautiful and cozy!

WeOur wedding was completely perfect! The Bertram wedding coordinators were so accommodating and easy to work with. The price included pretty much everything so there isn't much more stress or money going elsewhere in your wedding. The food and service was amazing and the room was beautiful. Seriously amazing!

We haven't even gotten into the bulk of our wedding planning and already Valerie has made this such a wonderful experience! She has been so flexible with our schedules and so welcoming every time we meet. We were visiting the Bertram with the idea of having a backup venue and by the time we left we had made the decision that we wanted to have our wedding at The Bertram! Aside from Valerie being so honest and enthusiastic, the venue is lovely! We are so excited for our wedding to day to come!

I have nothing but absolutely wonderful things to say about the Bertram. I worked with Melissa and she was beyond wonderful. She was friendly, helpful, calming, and funny!

I was actually trying to select a venue that was closer to the city and would have been a bit more of a challenge due to different locations, parking, timing, etc. I was not going for a wedding hall kind of atmosphere but I was so glad I did! Not only is the Bertram beautiful, and it's awesome to have hotel rooms available onsite, but it was so easy! Planning a wedding is hard enough and I was in transition to a brand new job, and dealing with a lot of stress, and the Bertram made everything as simple as can be and completely customizable.

You could get your cake baked on-site so you didn't have to worry about a baker, and every vendor in Cleveland has worked there at one point or another so it was easy to get everyone to mesh into one seamless event. My day was absolutely beautiful and not a single thing went wrong. Melissa was not only my coordinator during the process, but my friend. I felt like I could e-mail her about anything and she totally understood my issues with a picky groom. My cake was my own design and it came out stunning, they let me see everything before the big moment, and they even threw in some cute extras just to make everything perfect.

Everyone had a great time, the food was out of this world good, and I just have nothing but great things to say. Thank you sooooo much Melissa and the Bertram!

The Bertram provided a beautiful wedding experience for us. Our coordinator was John, who was very responsive to all my calls and emails, and listened to everything we wanted. John and his team at the Bertram made all our wishes possible and made our beautiful wedding day dreams a reality. I would recommend the Bertram for any event, especially weddings. Their beautiful settings and professional staff made our wedding so special.

Our reception was held at the Bertram Inn's main room, the McKinley Ballroom, and was done fantastically. An event was held prior to our reception, ending at 3pm, and the team at the Bertram was able to change the room completely over by 5pm when our guests arrived for cocktail hour. Hors d'ouvres and cocktails were served, as well as a cheese table. Guests were promptly seated at 6pm, where our tables were set up perfectly with our centerpieces, guest favors, and table numbers as requested. Dinner service was a formal buffet of beef tenderloin, vegetable ravioli, and roasted sea bass, sides of almond green beans and parmesan crusted red potatoes. Guests made sure to tell us how flavorful and fantastic the food was all night. Waitstaff was attentive, and very friendly, garnering even more praise. Overall, The Bertram met all of our requirements and exceeded our expectations with little difficulty, going so far as to offer to contact our vendors for us to finalize details. We will fully recommend them for a fantastic and memorable wedding day!

Words alone cannot express how fabulous our wedding ceremony and reception were! As the mother of the bride you can imagine I wanted everything perfect. This could never have been accomplished if I didn't have Julianne as our wedding planner! She always responded to my several emails and put my mind to ease with all the details.She is very professional and gets the job done. After our last meeting before the wedding I had many requests and I was extremely pleased to see how everything was PERFECT!!!!! on the day of the wedding! I highly recommend Julianne and the food was superb!!! Lighting and ceiling drapes by Chris at the Bertram made the room look magical!! Thank you Julianne!!

We loved everything about The Bertram Inn! Our wedding planner -Julianne was fabulous, very easy to work with and she did a wonderful job! She went above and beyond for us :). All of our guests raved about the set-up of the wedding, the food (buffet) was excellent and the cake was to die for! I would have it there again in a heart beat !!!

We were recently married at the Bertram Inn and were assisted by Julianne Pittman with our planning. The quality of the food, cake, facility, linens, and service during the reception was outstanding. Many guests commented on the quality of the food and the bar. We felt that the money we spent was well worth what we received. We had high expectations of the facility and they matched and exceeded them. Every tiny detail was either taken care of by them or made aware of to us so that we could handle it. Our guests all had very positive experiences staying at the hotel, eating at the restaurant (brunch day after wedding) and with the other facilities.

Julianne Pittman assisted us throughout the enormous process of planning a reception for roughly 200 people. She went out of her way to give us honest, timely, and helpful feedback. She really helped make the process simple with the way she handled our meetings and conversations. Multiple times we changed out mind, some within the last few weeks, and she took care of it without issue. For a facility to provide someone like her to help a couple is a major, major plus. She really did a fantastic job, kept us sane, and made things easy. She gets our highest recommendation without hesitation.

The Bertram made our wedding absolutely perfect!! First of all, the wedding planner (Julianne) was extremely professional and assisted with every step of the process. She assisted with every big and small request from myself as well as my parents. She also made sure we had appetizers at the head table, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. Secondly, the food was phenomenal!!! We are still receiving compliments from our guests regarding the food. Lastly, they were responsive towards the elderly guests (with coffee/ cake) and towards our vegetarian guests (with preparing special meals for them). The wedding was amazing thanks to the Bertram Inn and Julianne!!

Our wedding reception was perfect. The staff is so helpful and they showed that they were really happy to do all that they can to make an event perfect. Valerie at the Bertram is a great wedding coordinator. I am so happy I chose this venue!

My daughter got married June 7th at the Bertram. It was PERFECT in every way possible. John was FABULOUS as the wedding planner. There was not one glitch in the entire wedding...we stayed Friday and Saturday night, did the rehearsal dinner there also. We had 42 rooms reserved for guests. They went out of their way to make everything special!!! I would HIGHLY recommend The Bertram to anyone planning a wedding!!!

Our wedding could not have been any more perfect and a huge part of that was our amazing wedding coordinator, John Roach and the staff at The Bertram. We had the best weekend of our lives and received so many compliments about how smoothly and gorgeous everything was. They truly listened to us and made our vision for our wedding a reality. Arianna Bezon was very helpful, accommodating & professional during the planning stages and especially on the day of our event. Arianna played an important part in the success of our wedding and it was a pleasure and hassle free coordinating all the details with her - from start to finish. If there was an issue Arianna was quick to provide a solution. The food, staff and ambiance at the Bertram were all a great match that greatly enhanced our special day.

The Bertram was exceptional! They went above and beyond to make our special day everything we wanted. Valerie was our wedding coordinator and I can't say enough good things about her. She's sweet, thoughtful and down to earth. I trusted her 100% and she delivered!

Everything turned out beyond expectations. I would definitely recommend The Bertram, especially The Annex. Our coordinator was wonderful, and helped us through the entire wedding process. Going into my wedding - I was wound up tighter than a clock. I set my expectations low (just so I wouldn't be disappointed) and was ready for the stress to be over. Looking back, I wish I could relive that day every day. It was perfect! The Bertram is not only a beautiful venue, but the staff and their service is top notch. We worked with Monica. She was super fun to work with and she handled every detail to a "T." Seriously, I did not have to lift a finger - and every detail looked more beautiful than I could've imagined. Our rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception was all held at the Bertram. Would not have changed a thing! The food was the best I've ever had at a reception and the service was fantastic. They heated up leftovers and brought plates up to my new husband and I at 2am, after we were done partying with our guests at Paws. Seriously! It is worth every penny!

The Bertram Inn was everything we could have asked for and more. Monica DeMassimo is just amazing to work with-she couldn't have been anymore helpful or thoughtful. The entire staff is so friendly and professional and the food was delicious. At first glance the cost might seem a little high but with all the services that are included (like the cake), it was very reasonable. I would highly recommend the Bertram and Monica.

Monica was our coordinator and SHE IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She made everything and more happen. I have no idea how she did it all and stayed so clam and sane, not to mention she kept everyone else on track and going where they needed to be. From making the hospitality room a huge success to creating a dream like wedding, she did it all. After having our wedding there I know why they are ranked #1 in the area! They know how to do it and how to do it right. All our guests are still talking about it, the food (OUTSTANDING), the location, to the bar and bartenders. Everyone at The Bertram is amazingly accommodating and has the best customer service I have encountered in a long time. They made it go so smooth and all while in such a unique location. The whole hotel is built in a way that makes weddings fun for the whole weekend for the guests. All the guests loved the hotel and some have plans to go back for lunch/dinner in their great restaurants and for overnight stays. The guests never even need to leave the hotel. We stayed in the Honeymoon cottage that night too and it was the perfect ending to a great day!! If you are looking for a reception site book The Bertram and ask for Monica!!! :)

We planned the wedding in 2 months. The Bertram handled the late notice and did not make me feel stressed.

We had our wedding at the Bertram a few weeks ago and everything went smooth sailing thanks to marsha and the staff there. Everyone commented on how delicious our wedding dinner was and had a great time. There were a few hiccups regarding wedding block but all to be expected when planning for a wedding. The Bertram was flexible and accommodating and the on site coordinator Marsha went above for our guests and our requests. Marsha, you were so incredibly helpful for our wedding planning. Thank you!

The Bertram was the perfect place for our fairtytale wedding because we wanted a classy venue where we could hold all the events of the weekend, have an outdoor ceremony, and throw a killer reception. The Bertram offered all of this, plus a great staff and amazing food. To this day, even four months later, we still get texts and comments about how delicious the food was at our wedding.

We absolutely loved working with Victoria, Alex, and the Bertram staff for our wedding. From the time I met Victoria the summer before, I knew I wanted her to help me plan my wedding. Everyone was so kind and genuine ad truly wanted to help make our day all we dreamed of. They made everything so easy and they were so accommodating. We had about 180 people for the ceremony and reception. We held our rehearsal and dinner there the night before and most of the bridal party spent the night on the grounds. We used their hospitality suites for getting ready- we had hair stylists and make-up artists come to us. It was so convenient to have it all in one place, and we loved having the pool for our guests. We also had everyone share a buffet breakfast on Sunday. My husband and I loved using the getaway cottage for our first night as a married couple, and we look forward to staying there again in the future for an anniversary.

I would highly recommend the Bertram for your wedding. The grounds provided beautiful pictures without us having to go offsite. The patio was perfect for our outdoor ceremony, and it offered a great space for guests to converse or get fresh air during the reception. We loved using the pre-function area for our cocktail hour, and it was an elegant, Plan B option if it was rainy and we couldn’t hold the ceremony outside. We especially loved the natural light. We also liked that the bar was outside of the reception room because it gave our guests a lot of space to converse and hang out. The staff was so helpful in planning our day and they allowed us to bring a lot of personal touches and decorations to make the ceremony look and feel like our own.

One of the last things that is important to mention was how the entire hotel staff made my husband and I feel like royalty the whole weekend. We were treated with such great service and everyone working knew we were the bride and groom and knew us by first name. These personal touches really show how Victoria and her team go above and beyond.

Many of our guests gave us compliments on the venue, but all in all, we just keep hearing rave reviews about the food. As a bride, this makes me happy because I wanted my guests to have a delicious meal.

Very happy with our ceremony and reception at The Bertram Inn, Very Affordable, accommodating, food was very good, clean, just needs some minor updating, but overall, it was an extremely elegant, pleasing venue. Use of hospitality room, providing parents of bride and groom a complimentary room night of wedding, allowing us to do our personal touches and not have to pack them up until next Day was really outstanding service. Staff was very pleasant and courteous.

The Bertram Inn blew us away when we went on our tour - this was definitely the best place to have our wedding. Everything was in one place, ceremony, reception, bar, and hotel. Additionally, Monica (Bertram coordinator) was beyond helpful. She made sure we had everything ready to go and she made sure the place was beautiful for us. She even made sure things were perfect for us on our wedding day. Right down to making sure my train was cooperating down the aisle.

The Bertram inn is a beautiful venue for a wedding and/or reception. I had my ceremony as well there and it was beautiful. The transition from ceremony to the cocktail hour was flawless and smooth. I loved having ceremony, reception and hotel all in one place. They also did a great job with including all their services into one package. It really cut down on the vendors I had to hire and it made it very cost effective. The cake was amazing!!!! The bartenders and waitstaff did an amazing job. Food came out super quick and the drinks were not skimpy! Everything I expected and then some. Our photographer loved the grounds and architecture for pictures. It is a great venue! The only reason I did not give it a 5 out of 5 was some of the communication was off. We had an issue with the contract terms 4 days before the wedding and even though everything was worked out in the end, it was a slight blow receiving this information so close to the big day. Better communication over the contract terms would have been appreciated earlier, but I know a lot is involved in the planning.. That being said, I would not be deterred from using the Bertram again for other events. I'll just pay more attention to the contract terms!!!

Everyone at the Bertram was great. The staff on the day of was professional and helpful. The ceremony went very well and they set up the ballroom better than I could have expected. Everything went so smoothly. The food was fantastic and I had so many complements from guests on how great everything tasted. The wait and bar staff were super friendly and went above and beyond to ensure that I got everything I wanted. I would highly highly recommend.

The Bertram Inn was a great venue to hold my reception. Not only is the space beautiful, the food is very good and the service is outstanding. Drew at the Bertram Inn is amazing! I had a lot of moving parts to my wedding reception, and was fairly demanding (as I am an events planner myself) and Drew and the rest of the Bertram Inn staff were spectacular. I highly recommend this venue for an event! Many of my wedding guests told me and my parents that our wedding was one of the best if not the best weddings they have been to and that ours was the one to compare all weddings against. I attribute a lot of this success to the outstanding service that The Bertram Inn provided.

Amazing staff all weekend. The venue was beautiful and the wedding extended all night at the restraunt bar with such a fun group of people.

The Bertram inn was comfortable and accommodating to work with for our daughters Christmas wedding!!! The coordinator, Ariana Bezon, was a delight, fun and knowledgeable and guided us through our entire process smoothly and professionally. The reception was held in the McKinley ballroom which was set up beautifully. Everyone was so kind, professional and accommodating from Ariana, the front desk staff, to every last bartender and server. The food was nice and hot and delicious. Many guests stayed in the hotel rooms and had good experiences there as well.

The Bertram Inn did an outstanding job with our wedding reception. The venue is fabulous. The food and sevice were excellent. Everything ran smoothly and was on time throughout the evening. The event coordinator, Monica, was great to work with. Our daughter, family, and friends all had a great time and raved about it afterwards.

Some of the vegetable appetizers came out brown and some of the pieces were a little to big for people to eat. When i brought it to the servers attention they took care of it right away. It was just embarrassing because it was one of my guest that brought it to my attention. Also i had made, trayed, & wrapped all my cookies. We stored them at the Bertram on Friday. When my brother brought the cake to the hall Saturday morning he found them all unwrapped. It was hours before our party was to begin and we were worried about them drying out, sitting out in an open area etc. When he brought it to someone's attention they really copped an attitude with him. Again this was one of my guests who was helping me out. He had to rewrap everything! It wasn't a small amount either. He was very upset about the whole thing.
I have recommended the Bertram to a number of people so I was a little upset about that. I think overall everything else went very well.

We chose to go with the Bertram Inn because of the unique set up of the Hayes ball room and the room accomodations. We are very happy we made that choice.

Our coordinator was Monica and she was very cooperative and accomodating. She did an excellent job going over the details of our wedding and making sure there were no loose ends.

We had some set backs on our wedding day that caused some unwanted stress on us. I got a call from my mother as I was entering the reception hall. She said I was going to forget everything that happened earlier once I see the ball room. I will be blown away! and I truly was. Betram did an AMAZING job setting everything up for us. Monica did not miss a singe detail and everything we ordered and asked for she did. She even went above and beyond by putting lights around our cake, that we didnt ask for. She knew I ws a big fan of candles and lighting. The food was AMAZING! Bar tending staff was incredibe and the liquor was delicious. My husband and I are still receiing comments from our guests on how beautiful the place and room was. Also, how good the food was and we received many ciompliments on the bartenders. I am so thankful the Bertram came through for us and they made ALL the pain go away from earlier. It meant everything to us.

We had the best time at our wedding, there were just a few things we did not care for regarding the staff. We had specifically ordered a specialized meal for one of our guests who is a vegan vegetarian and her pasta meal was completely forgotten about and not served until almost everyone was done eating. My husband and I were walking around to all the tables thanking them for coming and found out she hadn't even eaten yet. I had to personally go out and find a waiter to inform them of this unfortunate mishap, and sure enough they went back into the kitchen and got our guests food. Our band did not require any meal at all since they were playing only from 8p-12a. The staff offered meals of food to the band (the band was sitting at a table in the "cocktail" room of the Garfield) when all of our guests hadn't been served yet. I had people telling me they didn't get what the ordered (even though it was good) and I was very disappointed by this, and assumed it was because the staff was offering away food to people who weren't even guests and the staff did not even ask me permission to serve them. Lastly, at the end of the night all my centerpiece flowers disappeared. I paid a lot of money for those arrangements and had every intention of giving them to my family and bridal party as an additional parting gift, but to my surprise after I said my goodbye's, they were all gone. All I was left with was my bouquet, and the flowers from the head table. Overall, the rest of the event went well and we were all in all happy. I just wanted to put it out there in case there are still issues with that regarding the staff and/or just as a heads up so you know! Thanks!

The Bertram was a bit of a surprise actually. They had all of the brides/grooms/families for a tasting and while I thought they would have show cased there very best, I was much more impressed with the food on actual day of our wedding. We managed to cut down our guest so we were able to select a more expensive plan. Everyone raved about how great the food was, my favorites included the roasted red pepper bruschetta, bacon wrapped scallops, shallot potatoes and london broiil. I wasn't impressed with their cake so we went with our own baker and to make up for the cost of the cake they took $3-4 off our per person cost. They did our ceremony outside of the Hayes Annex which was lovely with their gold chivari chairs, cocktail hour inside (which was a must in muggy july) and reception in the ball room. You havecomplete access to the entire building all day so vendors have a lot of time to set up. Only down side would be if there is a wedding there the night before which limits your ability to set up a day before if you're having an early wedding. The ballroom itself is not very impressive but once you add the tables, chivari chairs and other decorations it looks a lot nicer. I definitely reccomend them.

Sometimes it was hard to schedule and appointment or to be able to talk with our coordinator. However, they were very flexible and bent over backwards to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. The venue was beautiful, food was great and everyone seemed very happy! I would absolutely recommend this vendor.

The Bertram was very accommodating. I wanted to be creative with the menu and they worked with me to make the wedding I wanted. Everything was wonderful!

Brenda and the rest of the staff at the Bertram were perfect from beginning to end. I was amazed at her attention to detail…at our meeting the Wednesday before I arrived with boxes and boxes of random decorations with instructions, and what she ended up doing with all of those supplies just blew me away. Plus, the food was amazing, the cake was included in the package and it was beautiful and delicious, they somehow supplied my bubbly-guzzling friends with champagne all night long even though they don’t include it in their regular bar package, supplied their shuttle to get us around (a group of 20 to the rehearsal dinner, guys to the church, etc.)…the list goes on and on. And having the hotel on site was key – tons of people who lived just across town ended up staying so they didn’t have to drive…and they could because the group rate was so affordable. Even though this venue seems like it’s pricey per person, all these extras made it totally worth it. They do a lot of weddings here, and know how to do them WELL. Highly recommend it!!

The Bertram was fantastic. Brenda was the wedding planner, and did a fantastic job. They set up a wonderful food tasting, had samples of linens, chairs, table setting options, even napkin fold options. So for the detailed bride they were wonderful. The food was outstanding, we got several compliments. The service was wonderful, I would recommend The Bertram to anyone. I was an out of town bride, and they helped me more then I ever could have asked for.

venue is beautiful - and the food is delicious. we were highly disappointed that some of our decorations that were left overnight (a basket with guest favors) "disappeared" along with a few of our gifts. it took multiple phone calls to get a response, and some pushy behavior (which should've been unnecessary) to find our missing gifts. they were stored away in someone's cube in the back office! our basket with favors never appeared.

Throughout the planning process we had 3 different coordinators for our wedding because the people stopped working for the hotel. The front desk girls were very rude and confused every time we came to make a payment, ask a question about the hotel and even told my guests the wrong check in time. On the wedding day- they forgot to pass out our out of town guest bags. The final coordinator had a very cold personality, was not clear about what was included and took longer than expected to return emails. I had to ask her several questions about the timing to finalize things that I felt she should have notified us on. The hotel is beautiful, but the rooms are not impressive. The room we had booked for our wedding night did not have a working ac unit- they did give us a new room, but many are outdated. All in all the actual day of the wedding it did all come together, and thankfully with the help from our dj the night was a blast! The food was delicious- definitely the best wedding food I've ever had, and we got tons of compliments!

The Bertram was a great place for our reception, but you can definitely tell that they need to hire another wedding coordinator. There were 3 weddings at the Bertram the same night as mine, and it was hard to find someone to help us when there was a problem. The food was excellent, the room looked fantastic, and our cake ended up looking and tasting great, but there were some problems with the staff not being very responsive at times. I would still recommend the Bertram for a wedding reception, but definitely think they need to add another coordinator if they don't want their reviews to start getting negative.

First and foremost: the reason for my subpar ratings is from my disappointment at communication skills and organization from this venue. That being said, my reception ended up being great, but I didn't see Bertram staff at all. It was great because of the DJ, florist, and most importantly my wedding planner.

Even weeks before my wedding, I did not feel confident that my day was going to run smoothly. There is no alignment between employees, I felt like I was being annoying whenever I had a clarifying question, and when I would ask for certain things (pictures of the decor they provide, menus, etc...) they would forget and not follow up with me. I felt like something was off. I won't name the person who worked with me for my wedding because overall I believe she had good intentions-- I think she was just overworked or unhappy at the Bertram.

Food: no. We read great reviews about food and we were excited for our food tasting, but I was not impressed at any of the entrees. The cake baker they work with is awesome though. I took initiative and called her a few days before (because I did not trust the Bertram) and she had the wrong cake planned for my wedding day. So yeah. Thank God I called to confirm.

If you're considering this venue for your reception, check out other places first if pre-wedding planning/feeling at ease is important to you. The value was pretty good though compared to some other newer and nicer hotels in the NE Ohio area.

First let me say that I completely regret my venue choice. Secondly, the food was outstanding, everyone raved about the food and bar! After our first tour we were given a certificate to stay at the hotel for free. AAnndd they charged us. They fixed it and promised us another free night (which we never got btw) but that was our first red flag. But due to my husband's reluctance to tour more venues and because the Bertram had a special going on, we booked the Bertram. We originally had Brenda as our coordinator, who was OK but a little dismissive because our wedding was still pretty far out. Which I get, but I shouldn't feel that way. And she quit, not giving proper notice to her brides and I found out through the grapevine! I think she emailed everyone with a few days left. Then we got Alex. Alex is very sweet and she always answered my questions promptly. I thought we understood each other and were on the same page. I could not have been more wrong. I arrived to my rehearsal in a panic because all of our rooms were wrong (and we booked it WITH the front desk and double checked it two days earlier!) We also noticed that our napkins were wrong, the dance floor was missing a small piece, and several other small things were off. Well, none of those were taken care of. Our card box was thrown around and the top was lopsided, the entire prefunction area was a hot mess and the absolute worst part was the completely messed up our floor plan in the reception area! My husband's family was against the wall and on the opposite side of their small children. My 91 year old granddaughter was put in the back and couldn't see anything. I could go on and on with their mistakes but what you don't know is my type A, super organized personality. I literally gave Alex an itemized list of all my belongings and exactly where to put them. AND SHE STILL MESSED UP! Either they weren't put out at all or they were put in the wrong spot. And the kicker is they lost about $200-300 worth of my stuff. And the stuff they did return was THROWN in boxes with no care. They did give me two free nights within their hotel chain, but honestly that's what they should have done. Then to wrap up our wedding night, we went to the front desk to get our room keys and it wasn't previously set up! I'm walking around in my heels and wedding dress, we weren't offered help with our bags or anything. And we get to the room -and there is NO bed! So at midnight we have to get a new room. The hotel service was absolute crap and the rooms are only Ok. Finally, Alex did have another wedding that night and I was told that the other coordinator would be available. Well, she wasn't there and I wasn't told why. So there was a good half hour we were looking for a coordinator and nobody was around. My wedding day was amazing because I married the man I loved. But this venue was the worst decision we made.

I made appointment with Ms.Victoria in anticipation of a wedding venue for my daughter and when we reached the scheduled time, Ms. Victoria was nowhere to be found, nor did she picked up the phone for the front desk receptionist. Later on Ms. Mandy, very professional from the other department was kind enough to give us the tour. She said Victoria will give me a call or email me but it's been more than a week, she still never responded. I can't believe the unprofessionalism on their part.
