Joel was the MVP of our day! From having mics all set for the ceremony to curating the vibes for all parts of our day, Joel was just the best DJ we could have had -- and he is literally the kindest human on the planet. Because he had played events at our venue before, Joel was able to recommend certain things he's seen before, which helped us figure out what we wanted. He also created a google doc with all pieces of a typical wedding and asks you to populate in songs or ideas -- whether it was just a small description of a vibe we were going for or a specific set of songs we wanted to hear, Joel made it all work!
I am especially grateful for the way he was able to be flexible with the little details we had -- in place of my father daughter dance, I had a dance with my 3 brothers that was to just one song. This was a really emotional moment for my family and it just felt so perfect because of the way Joel introduced each one of them and helped it feel like it flowed. Joel made everything so seamless for us and we had so many people tell us how much they loved the music.

Joel was the chillest vendor we dealt with, which honestly made me nervous that he wasn't on top of of our playlist and preferences. I couldn't have been more wrong. Joel threw an amazing dance party--multiple friends asked us who the DJ was during the reception because they were having so much fun. He integrated our requests seamlessly with his own choices, and people danced all night. One of the nicest guys ever too. Hire Joel! -

Words truly cannot describe how grateful we are that we booked Joel for our wedding day! What first drew us to Joel was his approach to DJ-ing weddings. Instead of pressuring people to get on the dance floor by yelling through a microphone, he listens to the couple/guests, observes what music gets people most excited on the dance floor, and lets the music speak for itself! Even guests that SWORE they do not dance, were dancing on our dance floor. One of our favorite moments of the wedding day was when all the guests spontaneously circled around us during the last dance; it was a truly indescribable moment that was brought about by the subtle intentional choices Joel made throughout the night to make people feel comfortable and have a good time. If you dont believe us, just check out the photos! Oh and did we mention that Joel stepped up just a couple months before our wedding when another vendor fell through on one of their commitments to us? He was truly the BEST. -

Joel was a 10/10 all around! He is very organized, and makes everything easy! He was recommended by our planner, and was very responsive to our emails. We had a consultation with him where he clearly laid out the details of what he offered, and how he would apply it to our wedding specifically (where he would likely set up, how the night would go etc). Sending him a list of the music we wanted to play, and when we wanted it to play was easy. He also let us know that he would also be able to include song choices that would fit the moment if we wanted him to or if we ran out of song choices for different parts of the day. On the big day, he did an AMAZING job with our rooftop wedding. He played everything on the list as requested, and arranged the songs that we asked him to play in a way that kept the reception fun for all ages, and lively - everyone (young and old) got up to enjoy the fun! As a bonus, he also gave us each a pair of customized shirts for our wedding - what an awesome keepsake! I can't recommend Joel enough! Thanks for making the soundtrack to our wedding special! -

We hired Joel for our wedding and he has been awesome throughout the entire process! He was always super responsive and flexible - which was extra appreciated while we navigated COVID and date changes. While Joel was super professional, he knew how to put on a good party! He certainly found our vibe and had us, our friends and family dancing for hours! His transitions were seamless and song choice was excellent. We would highly recommend booking!! -

Joel is such a fantastic DJ, and I could not recommend him more! He is incredibly personable, took the time to schedule several phone calls with us (one lasting over an hour), and gave us so many great recommendations. He gave my husband the fun idea to have a groom/groomsmen song for the ceremony, and our guests LOVED it! Joel was also happy to work with us to edit songs we wanted for the ceremony and reception introductions, and they turned out perfectly. He knew exactly what songs to play to keep the dance floor packed, and many of our guests told us how much they enjoyed his music. Thank you so much, Joel, for helping make our special day so much fun and so memorable! -

We first talked with Joel over the phone and instantly clicked. Despite not meeting in-person, we instantly knew that he was the right fit for us. Working with Joel was simple and easy, and he walked us through everything we needed to know, incorporating the vibe we wanted.
On the day of the wedding, everyone was out on the dance floor all night, some even skipping dessert because they were having too much fun dancing! We have gotten so many compliments about Joel, and some of our friends have even said that it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to! A lot of the credit for that goes to our DJ.
Bottom line, you should book him! -

Joel was easy to work with and fun throughout the whole process. He listened to our ideas, answered our questions with patience, and handled a couple of changing-our-minds on details from us with grace. and incorporated (the very strange!) requests from our guests as well as respected our do not play list. Joel read the room, playing songs that brought people to the dance floor, ending songs early that guests weren't responding to.
We have heard from so many of our guests how fun, nice, and simply excellent Joel was. He brought a special energy to our wedding reception, and we are so grateful. Highly recommend!! -

DO NOT underestimate how crucial a good DJ is for your wedding! I honestly cannot say enough good things about Joel, who DJ'd our wedding this past Saturday (June 8, 2019).
Guests from all generations were absolutely raving about how great of a job he did - it's basically impossible to please everyone, but he did it. During the planning process, Joel made plenty of time to discuss our song list, and made sure to check in with us during the reception to make sure all was going well. And, most importantly, he went above and beyond in the face of unforeseen circumstances to make sure that we had a wonderful dance party. He's calm, cool, and collected, but also fun and engaging. PLUS he has a super cool DJ booth setup that is so much fun! We especially loved that he made a special t-shirt to wear during the event (and gave us our own to take home!). Please do not hesitate to book him for your next party. We made the best choice, and we couldn't be happier. THANK YOU JOEL! -

I wish there was a way to give more than 5 stars for Joel. We contacted Joel to be the DJ for our wedding and he immediately set up a video call so we could discuss our vision. No matter how crazy our ideas were, he was very flexible and excited about our vision for our wedding. Our vision would never have been possible without him. He would always respond quickly with any of our questions and even changed songs on our playlist in the week leading into the wedding. He was extremely professional the day of the wedding and all of the days leading into the wedding. Once the dance party started, it didn’t stop!! Joel played all of the important songs and read the crowd and mixed in other songs that he knew the crowd would enjoy. I had many guests that raved about how great he was and his play style. I can not recommend Joel enough for your next event. Do yourself a favor and book him for your event. It will be a lot less stressful with Joel running the play list for your event and he will definitely get everyone out on the dance floor!! -

Renee Sent on 07/17/2018Joel was a truly stellar DJ. We had a diverse range of guests and I can honestly say that we had people from age 2 to age 72 up and dancing during our reception!
But, let's be honest, while it's awesome to have a DJ that can pack a playlist full of danceable music, what really makes a vendor is when they make the couple's job easier. On this, Joel delivered. He was responsive and proactive, working with us to find out our musical interests and even helping to edit our ceremony music to fit within our programming. He told us exactly what he needed on the day-of, and coordinated with our other vendors to make sure they could work together seamlessly.
He was awesome on our wedding day, too: When a rainy forecast threatened our outdoor ceremony, we had to make a last-minute decision on whether or not to move the ceremony and cocktail hour under-cover. We thankfully were able to have the ceremony outdoors - music and all - but decided to move our cocktail hour into the covered barn where we hosted our reception. It was only later that I realized this required an incredible amount of last-minute work from Joel: He had to find a new location for his audio equipment which would be safe from the weather but still audible to our guests at the ceremony, take down that equipment in heavy rain, and then be ready to go to announce us halfway through cocktail hour. I still have no idea how it all happened, and to me that's the mark of an amazing vendor because it means it was "handled" without my involvement or stress on the wedding day.
I'd highly recommend Joel to anyone looking for a wedding DJ. He was great to work with before, during, and one of our favorite vendors. -

He was very friendly and responsive during the planning process, and we appreciated his honest, unique approach. He wanted us to define the feel of the wedding and choose our "Must Plays" but also was hoping we would be open minded. He said his job is to read the crowd and if we were okay with it, he may play a song that we don't love but the crowd might. He said if we hand picked every song, we may just sit around and listen to our favorite songs or, he could play what our guests wanted and have a dance party! He did an amazing job blending the two. He played our Must Plays and also used the style of those songs to help him pick some crowd favorites that matched the vibe we wanted. Our guests danced from 7:30pm - 10pm, non-stop and that was all thanks to Joel!!
We highly recommend Joel - you will not regret it. -

He had asked us for some suggestions of songs and things we didn't want to hear, but the best was his ability to read the crowd and keep everything flowing. Also, his pricing is very reasonable for the DMV area, some of the quotes I got were out of control. -

Christina Sent on 11/05/2017Joel came as a recommendation from my day of coordinator and boy am I glad he did. Without the ability to see most DJs perform before the big day (unless you happen to be at a friend's wedding and really fall in love with theirs), DJs are one of the hardest things to choose for a wedding. AND THEY ARE ONE OF THE SINGULAR MOST IMPORTANT ELEMENTS! Joel made our wedding.... literally. MADE IT. He was subtle (not too much interruption to an otherwise awesome dance soundtrack), picked all the right songs, and transitioned each song perfectly into the next (which is my one necessity when picking a DJ - nothing like transitioning from a full dance floor into a slow song that makes people head for the hills). The one thing I tell people when they ask about my wedding is how "I danced my face off" - those are my literal words. We got so many compliments on Joel - the fact that he played all of our favorite new and old hits - and how he never stopped the dance party. Just check out some of the pics below. He even went the extra mile by making a tshirt with our hashtag on it and wearing it for the event. He is perfect! My only regret is that Joel doesn't follow me around every day of my life just playing all the right jams! -

Joel DJ'd both our ceremony and reception. He was fantastic! Our guests gave us so many compliments on him. The music was super fun, and people were dancing all night. Highly recommend him for any event!
