The Barn on the Pemi Reviews

So how we even found out about the Barn on the Pemi is a story in itself.
We had just gotten engaged two days earlier, while on a road trip out west. We were in Yellowstone national park, and we went on a cowboy dinner to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. We struck up a conversation with the woman sitting across from us at our picnic table. She was from Massachusetts and said that she had just been to the most beautiful wedding that she had every been to, and proceeded to show us some absolutely stunning wedding pictures of her niece’s wedding at the Barn on the Pemi. She raved about how the food was amazing and how beautiful the venue is and how everyone there had had such a good time.

Once we returned from our trip we started the process of comparing wedding venues, but we may have been a little biased due to our chance encounter in Yellowstone. When we actually got to tour the venue for ourselves, we didn’t have to look anywhere else, because we knew this is where we were going to get married.

Carole was awesome to work with throughout the entire wedding process. She was very responsive and would answer any question we had. And she was a huge asset during the planning process and helped to create a rough timeline and let us know what to expect during the wedding day. We always felt like we were in good hands with Carole.

So our wedding date was in late March, we knew there was always a possibility of a snow storm when we picked the date. But we felt pretty good all through March as we hadn’t seen a hint of snow since early February and we even had some 60 degree days already. So naturally, the week before the wedding the weather changes, and they were predicting a major snow storm on our wedding day.

It started snowing overnight the night before the wedding and just never stopped. We ended up getting over 2 feet of snow in Plymouth, and while we had a number of guests and vendors cancel due to the snow, everything else went flawlessly at the barn. Carole was out there herself snow blowing the walk way so that we could take pictures by the arch. Carole also setup a live stream on her phone so that guests that couldn’t attend could still watch the ceremony online. Carole and the entire barn team were amazing.

Speaking of amazing, the food was amazing! We went with the braised short ribs, mashed potatoes and green beans and I highly recommend. The bacon wrapped scallops and Thai meatballs for passed apps were great as well and the pretzel wall at the end of the night was a huge hit.

My one regret is that we were so busy having a blast during the wedding that we didn’t get to try all the food.

The two minor issues for us were:
1.) The trolley was canceled at the last minute due to all the snow, so we had to scramble to get ourselves and bridal party over to the barn.
2.) Some of our guests said it was little confusing booking rooms within the room block. And we found it a little confusing that the tiny cabin was available in the room block even though it comes with your wedding.

But overall I would give them 5/5 Stars, I would highly recommend the Barn on the Pemi for your wedding. Carole is the best :)

My husband and I got married this past August at the Barn on the Pemi and we cannot stop thinking about what an amazing day it was. All of our guests commented on the stunning views during our ceremony on the terrace, the beautiful barn, and the amazing food. Carole was our day of coordinator and was so extremely helpful not only on the day of, but the months leading up to our wedding. She was so responsive to all of our emails and answered every question that we had. She was so organized and made sure everything went smoothly the day of. She also helped family members set up the barn on the morning of our wedding, which we greatly appreciated. We cannot say enough good things about Carole! We wish that we could redo our wedding day over and over.

What an incredibly beautiful venue. We worked with Kendra, who was the saving grace to our wedding weekend. Kendra worked with us along the way to make sure that we had everything necessary for our perfect day. We were greeted with an absolute monsoon the morning of our wedding, which caused high humidity resulting in a trolley breaking down and me being over an hour late for our ceremony. Kendra and the team at the barn communicated with our guests and with me as I waited in the lobby of the Inn. Our guests received complementary champagne as they waited in a wet greenhouse and the second trolley fee was credited back to our account no questions asked. Despite the rain, our day was pure perfection. Kendra set up our decor to meet our vision, and she did it well. I could ramble on about this venue, but in short, everything from the food to the people was everything we wanted for our wedding day. I would choose the Barn over and over again if I had the chance!

My husband and I got married June 8,2023. I cannot express how happy we were with everything. Kendra, our coordinator, was extremely helpful, responsive, and patient with the 100’s of emails I sent in the months leading up to the wedding. On the day of the wedding, she made sure everything went smoothly and it did! I didn’t have to worry about a single thing, other than enjoying the day. She helped set up all of the decorations, and everything was beautiful. We were also very impressed by all of the food! We got a ton of food because we hate being a guest at a wedding that doesn’t have enough food. Everything tasted so good. There are also many severe allergies in mine and my husbands family, and they were amazing in making sure everything was safe for us to eat. Thank you SO much the Barn on the Pemi for making my wedding amazing!!!

The Common Man is a New Hampshire staple. We wanted a venue that would handle everything and require very little from us as a couple, which was The Barn to a T! Kendra was our point person for the majority of our planning process, she was thorough, quick to respond, and even facilitated a last minute rehearsal dinner at The Common Man Inn and Spa. The food was amazing, especially the french fry bar as our late night snack! The Barn is a well oiled machine, great for those brides that want a beautiful day and want to enjoy it as well! The only thing I would change is I wish that the bridal party got ready somewhere else, they did warn me that The Cabin in the Woods was not the best place to get ready, but we really liked the idea of staying on the same property as the reception. Overall fantastic experience!!

We got married at the barn in the Pemi in 10/21/22 and to say it was the best day ever is an understatement! As soon as we booked the barn for our wedding Carole our coordinator was right there answering any and all questions making sure we had all of the information needed for our day to run as smoothly as possible! From the rehearsal to the end of the reception she was right there making sure everyone had what they needed. The barn is absolutely gorgeous. From the lights to the old wood to the farm style tables, it’s truly a fairy tale venue. The food was incredible and all of the staff working were so friendly. We are so sad it’s over and wish we could do it all over again. We highly recommend the barn on the Pemi!

The Barn on the Pemi was love at first venue tour, and Kendra was extremely helpful in answering all of our questions and helping us find a date with peak foliage within our budget. Carole was our day-of coordinator and was absolutely incredible. Not a thing went wrong and I attribute most of that to her hard work in keeping everything running smoothly and on schedule. Photos don't do the views or venue justice, the food was delicious, and the staff was so helpful all evening. We couldn't have picked a better venue to get married.

Kendra and The Barn on the Pemi absolutely knock it out of the park! We looked at countless barn wedding venues across New England and The Barn was our favorite by far. The barn itself, the multiple ceremony options, and the overall location/surrounding area is visually stunning. Not to mention, with the two ceremony sites, you get a variety of photographs, no matter what! The Barn’s menu is vast and their tasting event allows for you to sample many things before making a final decision. Our meal selections were outstanding, along with the dessert and late night snacks we chose. Plus, the dessert and late night snack displays are so fun and creative— they were such a huge hit! The Barn staff and service were incredible, both dinner and bar alike. Then, there’s Kendra. I’m not sure I can even do her justice in this review. She is gold!!! From start to finish, she made the planning process and the event itself absolutely seamless and perfect. She’s professional but humorous, responsive no matter how many questions you may have, prepared and organized, got all the answers and if she doesn’t she can get you them, so fun but calm and down to earth (which kept me calm even on my wedding day), efficient and takes the lead without being bossy, got a fantastic eye for detail (she beautifully set up all of my decor). I seriously could go on. If I could have invited her to my wedding as a guest, I would have! A connection that I will forever cherish. Our wedding at The Barn was everything I could have dreamed of and if I could do it all over again, I would!

What a magical place!! This venue has it all! It provides the rustic feel of a barn but has been renovated into a beautiful event space. The Barn has multiple floors but is handicap accessible with an elevator which was wonderful to keep everyone included in every aspect of the day.
The entire grounds are well manicured and provide an open feeling so guests could relax in a variety of spaces. The backdrop for our special day had the natural beauty of the New Hampshire landscape with 360-degree picturesque views. The greenhouse ceremony space offered a classic victorian style, giving off a romantic ambiance; while fitting well with the barn event space. The large paver patio was the perfect place for cocktail hours. Our guests could mingle while enjoying the fresh New Hampshire air.
We had 140 people and could seat everyone in the second-floor tiered dining space, allowing us to look out at all our guests from the sweetheart table during dinner. After dinner, the entire first floor turned into the dance floor giving plenty of room to boogie down!
When it got dark, they lit the firepit. Some of our guests took advantage of this quiet space, away from the dance floor, to gather and reflect on the day's events. My husband and I cannot stop talking about what a perfect day it was at the Barn on the Pemi.
We are from CT and got married in NH because it hold a special place in our hearts as avid hikers. It was a little daunting to plan a wedding during the COVD pandemic, living multiple states away, but the Barn on the Pemi helped us to coordinate all our wedding day needs. Their preferred vendor list offers a variety of services, and all the vendors are very familiar with the Barn, making the planning much easier. The Barn on the Pemi offered an expansive catering array allowing us to choose the best dinner format to align with our vision. And as a bonus, all the food was delicious! Their Hors d'oeuvre Sushi Martini bar and late-night snack french fry bar were a huge hit with all our guests! People have still been raving about botht hese unique meal offerings weeks after our wedding.
The customer service at this venue was out of this world. All the staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. A big shout out to our Day of Event Coordinator, Kendra. She did a phenomenal job organizing and keeping us on track so we could enjoy every second of our special day. She did a great job overseeing the day and checking on us in case we needed anything. We looked at several other venues but are so happy we decided to go with the Barn on the Pemi. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and beautiful experience!

The Wedding of our dreams!
The Barn on the Pemi delivered a warm, romantic, mystical, and rustic scene for our perfect day. This was a destination wedding for us but Carole, and her staff, made the planning process easy (seriously ... they took care of everything)! Professional, attentive, and kind. My guests are still raving about the food and the fantastic service. If my husband allows, I will have another wedding here. 5 STARS! THANK YOU!!

I've always wanted a fall barn wedding and I am SO happy I discovered the Barn on Pemi. We had a large wedding wiht 230 people and with this 2 floor barn it did not seem like there were that many people there. Guests were able to spread out, use an elevator if needed, get drinks from upstairs or downstairs. Unfortunatly it rained on our wedding day but it didnt even matter with the beautiful greenhouse on site to have the ceremony. Corey was our wedding coordinator and she was so thoughtful, helpful and took so much stress off of me throughout planning. As for the food, I am still getting compliments on how delicious it was! Look no further this is the perfect wedding venue!!

I don’t even know where to start, The Barn on the Pemi was the most incredible venue for our wedding day. We got married on 9-18-21, and the greenery in the greenhouse for our ceremony was stunning, the grounds were beautiful and the barn was out of this world amazing. Throughout the whole planning process we worked with Carole, she was AMAZING. Always quick to answer emails, and she was so helpful setting up day of. The food was absolutely delicious, and the wedding day and night could not have gone more perfectly. We have received so many compliments from guests on the food and how beautiful the venue was, and several guests said it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. We had an after party at Foster’s Boiler Room at the Common Man Inn, and it was the perfect way to end the night. The staff at the Common Man Inn and The Barn on the Pemi were so friendly, and they took care of everything so my husband and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. It truly was the best day of our lives, and a huge part of it being so great was because we chose to have our wedding at the Barn on the Pemi

The Barn on the Pemi is an absolutely stunning venue. Everything was perfect! The food was incredible, Carole Palmer was so amazingly helpful. The entire staff was super professional and nice. I can't say enough good things about the barn. Highly recommend!!!

I don’t even know where to start!! Carole was amazing to work with during this pandemic! She took all of my emails with a sense of ownership and emailed right away, no matter how tedious the question was! She was very calming during the whole process and assured me everything would be amazing. Our guests raved about the entire thing from the stunning views, to the sanitization and safety measures they had in place, all the way to the next delicious food! All the staff was so great! Guests can’t stop talking about it!

There isn't a way to describe how amazing the barn is in one quick story. Whatever horror stories you've heard about venues, forget about them. Every member of the staff at the Barn on the Pemi and the Common Man Inn was an absolute pleasure to work with. This team goes above and beyond with everything, whether it is being really nice/classy/respectful or being the most helpful/honest group of people we've ever worked with. Somehow every single detail of our wedding day felt like we were the only couple to ever get married here, like every human was working just for us, like they set up the barn just for us - everyone and everything so personable and perfect with amazing attention to detail.

We had Kali as our coordinator, words can not describe how we feel about her. Amazing human, amazing at her job, we love her both as our coordinator and now as a friend. She was so nice about everything, worked so hard, made sure everything was perfect for us, so responsive, so easy to talk to, I can't say enough about Kali the human or Kali the employee of the Common Man. We had a wedding day problem with our young flower girl, somehow Kali came up with a bunch of rose pedals for her which saved the day, stopped the tears, and it all worked out well. It may be a stupid example, but it is one of many that describe Kali as a lifesaver. Throughout the planning process she was the best, always willing to do way too much, made us feel like we were the only humans getting married at the barn every time we talked.

I could go on forever. The bar service was amazing. All of the Common Man employees made our lives stress free at times where it should have been very stressful. Whether it be our coordinator Kali or one of the young guys clearing our dinner table, everyone was so quick to help and do an amazing job.

You just don't expect a venue to go above and beyond, you don't expect a venue to make your wedding party and guests feel super special, you don't expect to fall in love with the group of people you work with on a wedding - all expectations were shattered with the Barn. It was the most perfect day and perfect experience.

My husband and I got married in early July of 2019. We were looking for a rustic barn that included the whole package (food and beverage service, set up and breakdown etc.). When I toured the Barn on the Pemi it was still under construction, but I knew it was the right choice. The barn is absolutely stunning and the views from the terrace are so beautiful! Everyone (Kali, Jen, Carole) I worked with prior to my wedding was very prompt and helpful. They answered all my questions and were open and honest about all of my ideas.

The day of our wedding it was in the high 90s with expected thunderstorms. Our ceremony was scheduled for 4:30 and at 4:00 it started to storm. The staff at the Barn was so accommodating. They quickly set up for an inside ceremony without any issues. The bridal party had to wait upstairs in order to stay out of the rain and the food service staff was so kind bringing us snacks and drinks while we waited.

The ceremony went off without a hitch. The staff did a great job keeping me out of the rain and out of sight from guests during the transition to walk down the aisle.

I was told by many guests that the food was great! I personally really loved the food as well! We chose the family style dinner service and the staff was very prompt about making sure guests had enough food! The girl that attended to the head table was an absolute gem! Always smiling and offering to take pictures if people asked. At one point the bar line was getting pretty long and she brought us over a tray of cold beers! Props to her!!

I highly recommend the Barn on the Pemi for your wedding venue. The Barn is stunning, the food is delicious and the staff is welcoming and warm!! You can’t go wrong!

We had the most stress-FREE experience and wedding at The Barn on 10/8/18 that we ever could have imagined. Lauren and her team were incredibly responsive, so involved and helpful with all of our details incl. menu, decorations and day of timeline. The overall feel and ambiance of The Barn itself is incredible, and adding a few of our own simple touches made it so personal and magical. We had the best experience after a very last minute venue change from another state, and Lauren told us from the get go, "you're in good hands now". She didn't let us down. The only one complaint we have, is that WE cant do this over and over again with them!! A truly magical day filled with so much happiness and love!

The Barn was absolutely incredible for our late September wedding. It was the perfect mix of elegance and rustic. We had our ceremony outside on the terraced grounds and our cocktail hour in the greenhouse.
The entire Barn's staff was amazing, especially Lauren and Jen, who went out of their way to make sure our day was perfect. They even personally picked up a few of our guests from a local hotel when there was a mixup with the transportation we hired. Thank you so much!

We had recently got married here and couldn’t have asked for a better day! Kali and the staff made sure everything was exactly how we planned out. The food was AMAZING and our guests couldn’t stop raving about how awesome the venue and food was. The barn is absolutely gorgeous and really doesn’t need a lot of decor as the lights and barn itself are beautiful. We had our dinner served upstairs and had the cocktail hour and ceremony downstairs in front of the fireplace! We even had a cluster occur with the flowers and the staff at the common man salon came together and saved the day!! I can’t say enough great things about this place. It was just amazing. Kali is the coordinator and was very responsive to all my emails and questions and was very pleasant to work with. Our wedding day ran so smooth a- huge thanks to Kali and her great staff who ensured this!

My wife and I had our wedding at the Barn this past year, and we couldn't have had a better experience! The staff was incredibly flexible and understanding (including through all the COVID-related challenges), the food was delicious, and the venue was beautiful. We had a magical day, and it was in large part because we chose the perfect place to get married.

This barn is absolutely beautiful!! We had our ceremony in the greenhouse on the property and the reception in the barn. Both spots are equally as lovely and peaceful! If you live in the New England area, I highly recommend you take a tour. The food is amazing as well; all of our guests complemented the quality and goodness!

For the most part we had a very positive experience! Jen Tower is a fabulous human being who knows her stuff. We met with her to discuss our day and she made sure that everything ran smoothly! The food was absolutely phenomenal, A+ to the head chef. I think some of the things they could work on is their coordination between the venue staff and the hotel staff, we had to work with 4-5 people all for the same general results. Multiple people responding to the same email address made it hard to get all of our questions answered. I would also recommend our original tour person Kali work on her customer service skills a bit more. When we toured the venue we asked a few questions and we frequently got one word answers. It felt like we were an inconvenience. She was fairly helpful on our actual wedding day however. Overall thank you so much for such a wonderful day and experience!

My fiancé and I attended a wedding here recently and while most parts of the evening we OK, it was really odd to have a vegetable crudité out with dessert. Veggies looked like they were on the dry side too like they had been sitting for some time. Bride seemed a little bothered by it so I am guessing this wasn’t the plan. Pretty unprofessional in my opinion and definitely a good indicator of where I won’t be having my wedding.

We were so happy with our decision to book the barn on the pemi for our wedding!!!! Our greenhouse ceremony was absolutely beautiful!!! Guests loved being able to go outside on the patio during cocktail hour!! Dinner upstairs was perfect - we loved the separation between dinner and the party downstairs! Our guests have been telling us for 2 months now how delicious the food at our wedding was!!! Good food was important to us when searching for a venue/caterer so we are beyond happy our guests had a great culinary experience!! One of the best parts of the venue is how beautiful it already is- you don’t need a lot of added decor because the barn is so beautiful as is!! The American flag behind the sweetheart table was one of our favorite touches too! Overall amazing venue and great experience!!! We cannot wait to attend a wedding at the barn soon as a guest to experience what our guests experienced!!
