I went to my sister's wedding there. I'm a musician but I never played a wedding before that I was actually in and had to perform in. I panicked mistakenly and acted like a jerk to the staff but quickly apologized. They wouldn't hear a word of it. I know I was but they were so beyond wonderful. The beauty of this paradise was only surpassed by the beauty of everyone that worked there. I give ten stars and a comet too!! If my wife ever leaves me I am going to apply for a job there. Absolutely one of my best experiences and it wasn't even my wedding.

The Barn at Valhalla was my DREAM wedding venue. We got married at the peak of the autumn color change (end of October), and the gorgeous reds, yellows and oranges made our wedding simply magical. We had our ceremony on the hearth deck, shaded by the golden leaves of the property’s little forest. The cocktail hour was held in the lodge and on the wrap-around deck, our dinner was in a tent outside the barn, and dancing was in the barn. We loved how dynamic the property was; we felt that the guests could never get bored, as they were constantly seeing different parts of the property, and they were always free to roam around. Our guests RAVED about how beautiful the venue was.

The buildings are rustic but refurbished and well-maintained. The minute you enter the barn, you are engulfed by the rich smell of wood! Marguerite has struck the balance between elegance and coziness; the drapery and chandeliers are gorgeous and elevating, but there is also a humble and homey feeling to the space. We were so privileged to be able to stay there all weekend—not only did this give us the chance to set up the venue the way we wanted, but we had the opportunity to really bond with family and friends over the course of the weekend. Not to mention that the honeymoon suite is absolutely gorgeous, with an enormous walk-in shower (with three shower heads!), private hot tub and sitting room with piano, and plenty of closet space!

I cannot sing Marguerite’s praises enough. From day one, she was extremely flexible and committed to helping us execute our vision. It was clear throughout the process that her number one goal was to help us have an amazing weekend. On the day of the wedding, we had a total of 12 different vendors, plated meals for nearly 100 guests, and many decorations brought from home. She juggled it all, and I did not have to worry about a thing. She was so organized and confident, and she set everything up perfectly. She was available at all hours to help us with anything that we needed, and we were so grateful for all her support.

No venue is perfect, so here are some considerations that we wished we’d been aware of ahead of time: If you want a band for the reception, you will likely have to rent a separate tent for the dinner (the small tent for ~100 people ended up costing us about $3000); this also means that the band would play after dinner because the tent is not contiguous with the barn. Also, although the tables and chairs do come with the venue, you will have to rent all your tablecloths/tableware/catering items separately. Marguerite has a good selection of items for much cheaper than you would get from a rental company, and she will set up a design appointment with you to go through the options, but I wish I had been aware of this additional expense. In addition, as much as I love Marguerite and wish that she could be everywhere at once, her constant dedication to making every wedding great can often lead to slow response times during the planning process. I think that she could probably benefit from having an assistant coordinator. I can’t imagine doing everything that she does on her own, but she does make it work!

In the end, these were only minor considerations, and I am so grateful to have gotten married at the Barn at Valhalla. Thanks to Marguerite and her team, I had one of the best days of my life, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Mother Nature decided to rain on us all day, but Marguerite and the entire staff went out of their way to make the day a memorable one. We are truly grateful for their help making lemonade out of lemons. Umbrellas at every entrance. Seamless shift to a day full of “Plan B’s” because of the rain. While others panicked a bit, Marguerite and staff were the picture of calm and patience. Fantastic day after all. Thanks you again for a day I am sure my daughter will cherish forever.

I can’t recommend this place enough!!! Marguerite And her team absolutely killed it! It poured down rain the entire weekend and Marguerite did a fantastic job with helping me figure out plan B for shifting the ceremony inside and it was just as magical and beautiful as I dreamed it would be! And when I tell you it was pouring it was POURING! But Marguerite and her team didn’t skip a beat in making sure I was happy and putting things together to keep everyone as dry as possible! All our family came from out of town so to be able to allow our whole wedding party and immediate family to stay on site with us was a huge plus and just made the weekend even more magical being able to spend all that time with family and friends all weekend and not have to worry about travel on or before our wedding day! Through the whole process she made sure we had everything we needed and really made sure our day was still so perfect even with all the rain! The grounds are so beautiful and at every turn!! Highly highly recommend having your wedding here!! Such a magical place and the team is just top notch!!!

The Barn at Vahalla was the perfect venue to get married at. My husband and I wanted a woodsy/fairytale vibe for our wedding and that’s exactly what we got here! Marguerite and her team did an amazing job at setting up and directing the flow for our wedding. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect place! Marguerite is also so so so nice! She made planning the event super fun and easy.

My husband and I spent hours researching wedding venues and the barn stood out to us from the
beginning. After seeing it in person, we knew we had found the perfect place to have our wedding.
Throughout the entire process Marguerite and her team were incredibly helpful, responsive, and very
patient with all my questions. Leading up to the wedding I had no worries about the day because I felt so
comfortable with Marguerite and her team. We loved being able to have our family and the wedding
party stay on site, and the ability to have the barn from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon. We got to
spend so much extra time with our friends and family having the whole weekend with them. Waking up
at the barn the day of the wedding was made even better by how peaceful the setting is there. People
commented on how calm I was that day and it’s very much due to Marguerite and everyone at the barn.
I literally worried about nothing and while it seemed like an effortless day, I know there was a whole
team of people working hard to make sure that’s how I felt. The bonus of leaving the next day with the
only responsibility of taking home with us what we had brought, helped out once again by everyone at
the barn. I really can’t say enough about how much we loved having our wedding at The Barn at
Valhalla. The beauty of the venue teamed with the kindness and hard work of everyone who works
there truly made it the best day of our lives.

This place is gorgeous! Room for everyone to stay and a secret room! Marguerite was wonderful from beginning to end. Went above and beyond and we had a wonderful weekend!

The Barn at Valhalla was the last venue we visited, and we knew that it was the one right away. We knew we wanted our wedding to feel fun, joyous, intimate and personal and the Barn fit the bill perfectly! It was important to us that our families and wedding party could spend extended time together over the weekend, and this was absolutely the right place for that. This venue is the best of several worlds, as if a serene mountain cabin getaway, joyous overnight summer camp, and chic resort and spa were rolled into one space. At every step of the way, our family and friends were stunned by the Barn’s effortless charm, and we made sure to take full advantage of the property over the course of our weekend staying there. We chose to hold our ceremony down in the Grove by the edge of the lake, our rehearsal dinner in the Lodge, and our reception at the Barn (with the cocktail hour on the Barn deck). But really you can’t go wrong here, as Marguerite has put such care and attention into the Barn. She’s constantly updating and improving it, from the hidden basement hangout lounge (behind a secret door!) to added lodging like the RV and Tiny House - our guests took advantage of all of it! We loved staying here — the honeymoon suite is incredible! — and so did members of our wedding party. We didn’t want to check out and talked about how we wished we could come back for a weekend getaway on our own to soak in the hot tub, drink morning coffee out along the gazebo, and marvel at the year-round elegance and radiance of the Barn at Valhalla. We're so happy to have had the opportunity to celebrate our postponed wedding here; it was a dream!

Words alone cannot fully capture how beautiful and special the Barn at Valhalla is for a wedding celebration. When considering locations to get married, the Barn at Valhalla was at the top of our “dream venue” list due to the stunning location, the convenient weekend rental option, and proximity to a town near and dear to our hearts while still feeling secluded from the hustle and bustle of UNC. It was important to us to hold our wedding celebrations somewhere where our loved ones could gather, stay, and relax for the weekend without having to travel to and from a hotel. Having the venue from 8:00am Friday to noon on Sunday meant that we had plenty of time to scope out ceremony and reception options and fully soak in the beauty of the venue. Our guests were BLOWN AWAY by how gorgeous the venue is - I’m pretty sure “magical” is the top word I heard throughout the weekend to describe it. Having flexibility in selecting vendors and having endless options for where to hold each part of the wedding celebration brought a creativity and fun to planning that I’m positive we wouldn’t have experienced anywhere else. Marguerite and her team were friendly, responsive, and so helpful when snafus popped up during the wedding weekend. I’ll forever be grateful for Marguerite’s kindness when we had to postpone our wedding a full year due to COVID and for how easy and painless the rescheduling process was. Marguerite’s day-of coordination services made executing our “vision” a breeze, and knowing we were in good hands on our wedding day helped us relax and be in the moment. The Barn at Valhalla is a one-of-a-kind venue that allowed us to create a magical and unforgettable wedding, and we are so thankful to have made lifelong memories there!

The Barn at Valhalla was our top pick for venue and with their option to get married on a weekday for a lower price, we were able to afford the venue of our dreams! The flexibility and expansiveness of the venue meant that we had TONS of options for rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception spaces, picture opportunities, sleeping accommodations, getting ready rooms, you name it! Having the venue from 8am the day before the wedding up until noon the day after also meant we had plenty of time to set up and take everything down before and after, and all our friends were able to stay at the venue in their gorgeous bedrooms. There is even a game room with ping pong tables, a mini putting green, a poker table, foosball, etc. that kept our guests (and groomsmen!) entertained. We had a hot tub in our honeymoon suite and the Lodge has dorm-style (but way nicer) bathrooms so everyone can shower and get ready at the same time. Once we checked in, we were basically left alone unless we had any questions, so we had a lot of privacy but could also rely on venue staff to set up and move the tables as we liked to prepare for the big day. The venue had basically EVERYTHING we could ever need except an ice-maker which was an easy fix. I wish we could've stayed for a whole week to make full use of the amenities and to enjoy the grounds because they were so beautiful! If you're looking for a huge venue with lots of sleeping space and gorgeous views that you can enjoy for three days, look no further!

This venue is absolutely amazing. We chose the 3 day stay, from Monday to Wednesday, and we couldn't be happier with our decision. Staying on the property made the entire wedding experience what it was. Myself and my guests created the most amazing memories in those few days! Between the man cave and the late night s'mores by the outdoor fireplace, my guests were thoroughly entertained and we got tons of positive feedback from them. I am forever grateful for having the opportunity to stay there! There are endless options as far as places to hold the ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner, etc., and because of that, you are truly able to create a unique experience tailored to you and your wedding vision. The property owners are great to work with. Very responsive and helpful! The venue also provides so much...if you need it, they probably have it. This was very helpful when staying overnight at the venue. Choosing this venue was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding!

We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect venue for our wedding. Everything was beautiful and there was even space for the entire bridal party to spend the weekend with us. The owners are friendly and answered any and all questions in a timely manner. We strongly recommend this venue.

Great place for a wedding, lots of options to design just the wedding you want. Having a wedding party that was entirely from out of town. Val Halla accommodated the wedding party and then some!

This venue was amazing! Not only was it affordable, beautiful and still talked about to this day... but the experience with everyone for this location was so nice. It was a dream come true at the Barn at Valhalla! Love at first sight!!! And I will always love it!

I was a guest for my Aunt's wedding at this venue last May. Coming from the city of Chicago, this venue was breathtaking. It is nothing from what I'm used to seeing. The deck gives a romantic feel as the trees and music surrounded us. We ate our meal inside the barn, and the decorations were set up beautifully. There was plenty of space to do our makeup and get ready as well (above the barn). I enjoyed being in a rustic venue and 100% recommend couples to choose The Barn at Valhalla!

We are so happy we chose the Barn at Valhalla. Marguerite was easy to work with and great about quickly responding to emails. We visited the site 3 times over the course of our planning, and each time, everyone there was hard at work painting and repairing to make sure the property was in top condition. You could tell the owners are really proud of that place.
We rented for the whole weekend, which meant we had run of the place and were able to host our wedding party in the ample guest rooms so they didn't have to buy hotel rooms, and we could have the rehersal, ceremony and reception on site instead of having to book different locations. Wedding venues are expensive, but we felt we really got the maximum use out of this place.
It was absolutely beautiful, and we wouldn't have wanted to get married anywhere else.

My son and daughter-in-law had a beautiful wedding weekend at the Barn at Valhalla in October 2019. The facilities gave us many great options for rehearsal dinner, reception, lodging for the wedding party and the ceremony. The weather cooperated for an outdoor ceremony, but the facilities would have supported an indoor rain option. The staff was very professional and anticipated our every need. I highly recommend.

The Barn at Valhalla was the perfect place because its not like any other venue. My dads wedding was not about the decor (even though it was amazing). It wasn't about the food (even though it was also amazing). It wasn't about the dresses or the shoes or the photos...It was really just about the people. We had family and friends come in from as far as Asia and as close as Chapel Hill. At the end of the day it was just about us coming together. So it was really important that we had the perfect place. Our friends and family were able to stay at the barn for the entirety of their trip. From the rehearsal dinner to the after party we were all at the barn. The entire venue became our home and our place for the weekend. We were on over 30 acres of land all by ourselves. It was serene and woodsy. The Barn is not an easy place to capture through words alone. The Barn is the type of intimate, romantic experience not many can say they have had. I recommend the Barn if you are looking for the a place to create unique experiences for you and your family. In summary, the Barn was a dream come true for our family.

The Barn at Valhalla made my wedding an absolute dream. There are so many beautiful spaces and incredible views. It was truly an unmatched space. It’s not far from downtown chapel hill but the venue feels very secluded. Marguerite was responsive and helpful during the entire planning process. Words cannot do this venue justice. Having the venue for the entire weekend as well as having many sleeping spaces makes it a good value. I cannot say enough good things about my experience working with The Barn at Valhalla.

It was so great! The venue is beautiful, the space is a wonderful size and it was perfect for the rehearsal dinner! It really was the best bang for your buck because of how much you get!! I loved it and so did our guests. I'm also the lucky one who woke up the day after my wedding to 7 inches of snow and it was EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL covered in snow! You can't go wrong with the Barn At Valhalla!

From the first email to the final check out, the owners are responsive and accommodating! Any question or needs that my mother and I had were answered quickly and without any hassle. The place itself is just gorgeous and was the perfect location! We got married on a Tuesday so we had the venue Monday-Wednesday. It actually worked out fantastic and saved us some money. We had all day Monday to set up the venue, and to hang out as a family, as well as had the rehearsal dinner there. It was nice to have a place for the bridal party to sleep both before and after the wedding. It made the day seem longer since we were with everyone since Monday morning. I have heard nothing but positive comments from our guests about how gorgeous the venue was. There is so much space so it never felt congested. Plus there are amazing places to get your pictures.

This Venue is Absolutely my favorite of all the ones I've seen. You have the SO many options for where you can get married at this place. Its yours for an entire weekend. even tho I feel its a bit pricey its totally worth it!!

I cannot recommend this venue enough. One week ago, I married the love of my life; not only was the setting perfect, but the people who we worked with were so amazing and helped everything flow seamlessly. The entire process, from reserving our date to helping on the actual wedding day, was easy and they were always helpful. They answered all of our questions, even the ones that were last minute, every step of the way. I cannot thank you all enough for everything!

My now husband and I live out of state from most of our family and friends, so choosing a venue that would allow us to spend quality time with our out of town guests was important to us. The Barn at Valhalla allows rental for the entire weekend of your wedding, including guests to stay with enough sleeping accommodations to allow for our whole wedding party to stay with us for the entirety of the weekend! Not to mention, the venue itself is absolutely stunning! Once we laid our eyes on the Barn, we pretty much knew it was where we were going to get married. We looked at other venues afterward, but kept coming back to the Barn. We are so glad we did! We had our ceremony outdoors underneath the trees, and despite a hurricane hitting the weekend before the wedding, the owners were very responsive to any issues that came up as a result of the storm and were promptly available. We did have some issues that were unresolvable, but the owners handled it as best they could and were very apologetic. We realize that mother nature took things a bit out of their hands, and we appreciated how attentive they were to our needs! The Barn at Valhall is the most stunning backdrop we could have asked for, and our wedding photos (as well as our engagement photos, also taken there) will be cherished forever because of it!

We cannot say enough amazing things about this place. From communication through the planning process, to amenities and little touches, to the venue itself, everything was perfect. This place is a total dream and was absolutely perfect for our wedding weekend. We had a small wedding (70 people) but most people had to travel here, while we are local. The Barn at Valhalla felt like a destination event in our own backyard, providing enough space for out of town family and friends to stay with us. It was an extremely comfortable home for the weekend and an incredible wedding venue, all rolled into one! Our guests kept telling us how amazing this place is - "pure magic" I believe was the phrase thrown around! The value for the cost is totally worth it, and the memories we created will last a lifetime. Thank you!

Our family's experience at Valhalla was outstanding! From the time of our first tour to checking out the day after the wedding, we were shown incredible cooperation and patience. Any question you had was answered quickly and you never felt as though the question was silly.
Marguerite and her family offered suggestions when we had doubts about set-ups or anything else. Definitely, professionalism with the heart to see that my daughter's wedding was going to be as she wanted it. It felt like her wedding mattered and that they were family too, pulling along with us to make sure all went well.
For those that were there all three days, it offered a time for two families to bond and old friends to rekindle memories. All our guests were impressed by the beauty of the venue and the peaceful atmosphere it radiated.
The back drop of nature made every bridesmaid walking toward the outside stone fireplace beautiful and made my daughter, the bride, glow among the fall leafs as she said her vows.

The venue and location could not have been more perfect and the owners made our wedding experience a true dream come true! Everything about our big day from the start of planning to the day of went about as flawless as any bride could hope for! Wouldn’t have wanted to have our special day any where else!

Words cannot begin to express how much we loved having our wedding weekend at the Barn at Valhalla. Since most of our guests were from out of town we loved being able to rent the venue for the whole weekend so that everyone could stay there and enjoy themselves. Not only is the venue beautiful, but it includes everything you could possibly need including tables/chair, large industrial fridges, audio hook-ups and plenty of photo-ops. The new chandeliers and hearth deck were stunning. My bridesmaids also couldn't stop raving about how comfy the beds were and one of them immediately went home and ordered the same mattress topper for her bed!

We got married in May so this is a bit overdue, but I just had to post how much I loved our wedding at the Barn at Valhalla. It was beautiful! It was just like having a destination wedding without going too far from home.

We had many out of town guests and we wanted to spend as much time with them as we could on our wedding weekend. We hosted our rehearsal dinner our first night at the Barn, the wedding and reception the 2nd night and then a casual brunch Sunday before everyone left to head home. It was so easy to have the space to ourselves the entire weekend.

Having rooms to stay for the weekend was wonderful and worked out well for the majority of our wedding party to stay onsite all weekend. The hotel we reserved was nearby and had a shuttle we could sign up for which helped a lot as well.

I personally liked the fact that we were not restricted to a specific vendor list to use, we could do whatever we wanted. This was a lot of extra work on my part to make sure I had little details figured out, that I am sure would not be an issue with more inclusive places, but I liked this factor so I could make it our own weekend.

Anyone we contacted at the Barn was always quick to respond and very helpful. I want to plan another event there just to go back!

Our experience with the Barn at Valhalla was nothing short of exceptional. Carly and Dillon were wonderful hosts, owners, and were more hands on than one could have ever imagined! Carly and I may have even developed a small friendship due to the amount we communicated! :) No question was too large or small (or too late at night), they were willing to go above and beyond to accommodate us and ease or stress levels, and of course - provided an AMAZING venue. I HIGHLY recommend renting the venue for the entire weekend like we did so you can fully enjoy the gorgeousness of the venue! You're basically walking into a Pottery Barn catalog. No expense has been spared in the decor and details, they have not forgotten a single thing you may need, you have an large and lavish inventory available to use for your big day (which is a huge stress reliever), and you have an expansive amount of property and space to use which you do not find anywhere else! Being able to rent the Venue for Friday-Sunday REALLY allowed us to be able to enjoy time with our family and friends, enjoy the setup and decor process, and not feel rushed or pressed with timelines. Carly and Dillon were ALWAYS available if we needed anything never hesitated to respond via e-mail or text if we needed anything. As with my other vendors, I truly feel that we made a friend with them, we would highly recommend this venue to anyone, and we knew at first sight that this was it for us! We encourage you all to venture out for yourselves. Everyone deserve the wedding experience we had! Thank you so much guys!

Initially, we were concerned about the higher cost of booking the Barn for the weekend. However, the flexibility the Barn gives you in bringing in your own vendors gives you the opportunity to stay within your budget if you are on a tighter budget.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Choosing the Barn at Valhalla was one of the smartest decisions we made in planning our wedding! Carly and Dillon made sure that the venue was immaculate and ready for our special weekend. We were very lucky to have perfect weather for our fall wedding, and the fun and stockpile of amenities helped with that. It was very helpful to have coolers, tables, chairs, etc. at our disposal for us and our guests. Everyone also enjoyed the pool table, ping pong, darts, and more!!! The venue provided plenty of room for many, and the master suite was FANTASTIC! We highly recommend choosing the Barn at Valhalla for your wedding. You won't be disappointed!!!

Dual-hatted as a business owner and the father-of-the-bride, I was a bit skeptical when my daughter and her fiancée said they had found the perfect venue for their nuptials. The price seemed reasonable and their description of The Barn seemed over-exaggerated. Suffice it to say that I rarely feel that I got more than my money's worth, but what Dillon and Carly have created is a rare gem of a venue which offers intimacy and beauty at a tremendous value. Their attention to detail, professionalism, dependability, responsiveness and flexibility made this an ease to coordinate, financially manageable and -- most importantly -- a wonderful and memorable milestone for us and all our guests. The location and amenities are absolutely incredible and we are already hoping our next daughter will consider holding her wedding at the Barn.

Our wedding at The Barn was absolutely phenomenal! The outdoor fireplace, the gazebo, the Lodge and the Barn were all the best venues ever. Our guests are still talking about our beautiful wedding setting and it was a month ago!

The Barn at Valhalla was the absolute perfect venue for our late summer evening wedding! Carly and Dillon, the owners, along with the venue manager were incredibly accommodating and made our wedding weekend an absolute pleasure! The grounds at the Barn are gorgeous (hello awesome pictures!) and incredibly well kept and having the option to also rent the Lodge (which we did) was amazing! The bridal party, along with the parents of the bride, were able to spend the entire weekend on the property which made for a hassle free and relaxing wedding weekend! I highly highly recommend this venue for your wedding celebration! I could not be happier with our choice and will cherish every minute we spent at the Barn at Valhalla! The Barn at Valhalla was the most amazing and special venue for our wedding. The location is breathtaking, from the fields to the pond to the buildings themselves. When we learned that there were sleeping quarters included, we knew it was a perfect fit. We were able to host our entire wedding party at the venue, so that it truly felt like an experience, from getting ready to dancing to morning coffee. The staff and owners made us feel so welcome and taken care of. They've truly created a unique venue and experience that I would recommend to anyone.

Goodness, where even to start! Having our wedding at The Barn at Valhalla was absolutely lovely. From our first visit until the Sunday after the wedding, Barbara, Dillon and Carly were the best to work with. They were so flexible in helping us find the PERFECT ceremony spot (those woods are magical!), they made sure we had everything we needed, and were truly invested in Joel, myself, and our families as people, as opposed to just clients. Having the barn and the lodge for the whole weekend was such a treat - Friday night was a relaxed rehearsal dinner, and all the bridal party stayed at the site for the weekend. It made things so special to have dear family and friends all in one place. We can't recommend this place too much - it's absolutely stunning, it's the perfect place to foster togetherness, it and made our celebration so sweet. My daughter's Winter Wedding at the Barn was perfect! Barb was fabulous to work with and made the planning process a breeze. Carly and Dillon, the owners, truly want to make your EXACT wedding vision a reality! They even helped us unload and setup when we arrived. The entire property was like "our home" for the weekend. We wouldn't have changed a thing! The Barn is a true gem for any special day!

WOW! The Barn at valhalla in chapel hill N.C. What a beautiful way to complement our wonderful state! My wife and I, Jessica and Jonathan Kalanarhos got married at this venue 9-9-17. The options at this venue are endless! You are not restricted by any means for creativity as every inch of this venue was extraordinary! The Barn comes with all the bells and whistles classy dish wear and silverware to the decrative library and out of this world man cave and hot-tub. They have all the tables and chairs for your ceremony and reception. Style of round rectangle or square to fit any dream exactly how you dreamed it. They have really nice folding ( white chairs) to complement an elegant wedding as well. Everything was so easy to get to without any issues. An extremely spacious venue but not over whelming. There is a great staff that will assist you with any of your needs or concerns. They are dedicated to making sure your special day is all you ever wanted. They went above and beyond for my wife and I. Great Americans! Extremely friendly and sincere.
This venue sits right beside a beautiful lake. And softest grass you will ever put your feet on. Eligant! I cannot say it enough. The joy and expierence you will have is litterally breath taking. Its worth every penny!

I know a lot of people just throw 5 stars up and move on, but I can't tell you how sincerely I mean it when I give the Barn at Valhalla 5 stars. Barb, Carly, and Dillon are the kindest people and they really care about your experience at the Barn and the memories you make there! And just think about the benefits-- a place for you and your guests to sleep, its really like 4 venues in one and you can use it however you like! The more creative the better.

For our wedding, this was the perfect venue. Dillon and Carly (the owners) are very nice, very helpful, were insistent on being there when we arrived and help setup things as much as they could. I feel like anything we wanted they would have done happily. They really wanted us to have the best weekend possible.
We loved the autonomy we were given. Basically, here is a beautiful venue with a lot space, gazebo, tables, etc - do whatever you want them, just try not break anything.
We had a lot of Indian ceremonies, so having the venue for the whole weekend was perfect for all the events.
Being able to stay on site with a lot of family also helped with organizing and setting up all these events.
The suite for the bride and groom is ridiculously cool. I just wish we had more hot tub and relaxing time.

Misc: for events over a certain size they need you to have a portapotty as backup as they’re on septic, that was ~$150ish. They also require wedding insurance through their provider at BB&T which was ~$400, apparently it’s tailored for the wedding but also to cover the people staying on site over the weekend.
They have some preferred vendors, but allow you to use whoever which is great because some other venues we were looking at required you to use their specific vendor which is also owned by them and was always much more expensive.

Awesome venue with exceptional value. Renting both the barn and the residence gave us space and flexibility to entertain our guests for the rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception. There is plenty of room for our guests and wedding party to stay on-site.

We recently got married at the Barn at Valhalla and could not have been more happy with choosing this venue for our wedding. We booked the Barn and Lodge Thursday through Sunday for our Saturday wedding and hosted our international and out-of-town guests on site for the weekend. Having the space to keep our family and friends close to us throughout the weekend was amazing. We definitely used the venue to its fullest - we had our rehearsal dinner in the lodge (~30 people), the wedding outside on the grounds (~90 people), the cocktail on the barn deck (~90 people), dinner inside the barn (~55 people), and a brunch the day after the wedding on the hearth deck (~30 people). Barbara, Dillon, and Carly were all extremely kind and helpful in the months and days leading up to the wedding, and willing to work with us to make all of our wedding dreams a reality. We really believe that second to its charm and beauty, the best part about booking the Barn at Valhalla is the ability to turn your wedding day into a wedding weekend and extend the time you have to enjoy every moment of this special time. We were able to set up the day before and clean up the day after, eliminating the need to worry about stopping the party to pack up and leave before midnight. We 100% would recommend hosting your wedding at the Barn at Valhalla.

The Barn at Valhalla was such an amazing place to have my wedding! The barn is so naturally beautiful that it really doesn't require much more décor, but at the same time it is easily customizable with whatever theme or look you desire for your wedding. It is also a lovely bonus that it has air conditioning, which was much appreciated for our hot June wedding. We also used the lodge for our wedding weekend, which made it like a destination wedding without the stress of actually planning from really far away. It really made the whole weekend that much better (and less stressful) that we could stay the night with our wedding party from Friday to Sunday. With the boys getting ready in the man cave in the lodge and the girls having the entire upstairs to the barn for ourselves, it was really just the perfect setup. Everyone at the barn is so easy to work with and they really do everything they can to make your day exactly how you dream it!

My sister got married at the Barn at Valhalla last month. It was such a beautiful and wonderful experience. We were able to be on the property from Friday-Sunday. It was so nice to be able to stay at the venue the night before and the night of the wedding. The barn was beautifully furnished and the bridesmaids had more than enough space to get ready for the day of the wedding! The main house was a great event space for the rehearsal dinner and a cool place for the groomsmen to hang out and get ready before the ceremony. The property as a whole made this weekend so special for my sister and our entire family. The lawn was the perfect backdrop for the wedding ceremony and wedding photos. Having dinner in the tent was a great addition to the party space in the barn. Again, I cannot say enough about how awesome it was to not have to travel for any part of the wedding weekend. The owners were extremely helpful and definitely added to everyone's positive experience!! I did not want the weekend to end because I did not want to leave this beautiful property!

We had our wedding at The Barn at Valhalla two weeks ago and everything about our day was perfect! One of my favorite things about the barn is that we were able to see the amazing upgrades and work that the owners put into the barn. We booked the barn over a year before our wedding, so every time we looked at pictures/visited the site new things were updated (like the speakeasy and the Gazebo). Each time we saw the venue it got better and better!! Something that sets the barn apart from other venues is that we had access to the venue for the whole weekend (Friday-Sunday) which was wonderful for setting up. We used the house at the barn for our rehearsal dinner and the space was perfect for a family dinner (of about 60 people) . Our families could not stop commenting on how beautiful the venue and the surrounding grounds were. Another major advantage is that our entire bridal party was able to sleep at the house and above the barn the night before and the night of the wedding which saved everyone from having to book a separate hotel! We had our ceremony by a tree on the grounds and the property manager had no problem cutting the grass to fit our ceremony site perfectly. We rented a tent which attached nicely to the barn and had our tables for the reception under the tent. We had our dancing and other details in the barn, which was a perfect set up. During cocktail hour we utilized the hearth which was perfect because our guests were able to explore the grounds and not be too confined to one space. So much was included at the barn that booking it as our venue was a must! We could not be happier about our wedding location and would recommend The Barn at Valhalla to friends and anyone looking for an awesome venue!

This place is a hidden gem in Chapel Hill! The barn has a beautiful view of a small lake, and the whole area looks lovely at night when it's lit up with white lights. Though it's a barn, it's far from what you might picture with hay bales and fork lifts-- the main area is a great finished space with plenty of room for dancing, and there's the option of seating outside or inside-- we held cocktail hour outside and all of the youngsters enjoyed playing outside during the reception. Upstairs, the barn has a bunch of guest rooms that have been beautifully decorated, and the bathrooms are impressive-- no detail is overlooked. And the staff was very helpful and personable-- Dillon was great in making sure we had everything we needed. Thanks for helping us have such a wonderful wedding!!

We haven't had our event yet, but we just signed out contract and Barbara (the property manager) couldn't have been more helpful. The property is beautiful and well-maintained and they are super laid-back and will work to make your visions come true. Highly recommended.

The "Barn" is gorgeous. Marguerite and team were very pleasant to deal with and sensitive to our needs. They were fastidious about details and calm in all interactions. The venue was a good value since we held rehearsal dinner there as well. The only precaution I can give is to clarify decorating upfront. What can be decorated and by whom. We were not allowed to make our own custom drapery but instead were required to rent their drapery. It turned out to not be a big deal but knowing that upfront would have been preferred. 2 thumbs up!

I couldn't be more happy with my choice! If I had to do this all over again, I wouldn't change a thing!

We had our wedding weekend at the Barn at Valhalla and could not have been more happy with our decision! Our favorite thing about this venue is that we were there from Friday morning through Sunday afternoon so our wedding day was really more of a wedding weekend! We loved that all of our friends and family from out of town were able to stay on-site which offered more of an intimate and cozy experience. Carly and Dillon were absolutely amazing to work with. Although our interaction with them was limited, they went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for our weekend. The only downfall was the cops were called (based on a noise complaint) at 7 P.M. and arrived in the middle of the Father of the Bride speech at dinner which was pretty distracting. Otherwise, the venue itself is gorgeous and we are very fortunate to have spent our wedding weekend at The Barn at Valhalla! -Katie and Brandon

My husband and I are incredibly pleased with our experience at the Barn at Valhalla!!Right off the bat we were thrilled that friends and family could stay on-site with us the whole weekend. The lodging is so beautiful and comfortable (incredible bridal suite and enormous shower!) and the grounds are gorgeous! There are multiple ceremony spots to choose from (we chose in the woods next to the pond), so many great places for photos, as well as for guests to enjoy. Our guests loved sitting and chatting by the big fireplace and spending the cocktail hour on the huge porch overlooking the pond. The getting ready rooms above the barn are decorated beautifully-- perfect for spending time the day-of with bridesmaids -- and of course for photos. We were really glad that we could have our rehearsal dinner on-site on Friday night, just following the rehearsal, but that it was in a different area than the wedding reception (we had it in the atrium of the Lodge). This meant we could have the rehearsal dinner catered by a restaurant, bring our own wine and beer, so that it was more of a close party with family and friends (and save a lot of money!). Since the venue is so customize-able, we were also able to save tons of money by DIYing our decor, bringing in our own flowers and drinks (from a grocery store!), and finding the caterer who was right for us. The one downside to this though was that we ended up bringing a lot of stuff in and out of the venue, setting it up, etc; but for us it was totally worth it. From beginning to end, the owners of the Barn at Valhalla were so responsive, kind, and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure all our questions were answered- even texting with us day of when we couldn't find something we needed. Overall, the Barn at Valhalla was exactly what we were looking for the biggest day of our lives, and we are so pleased with our experience!

The barn provides an unparalleled setting to host- the variety of locations, the quietness of the venue and the space is worth the money if you plan on having multiple events. They recently expanded the hearth deck and there are so many great places to hold a ceremony. The beds are comfortable and the venue is great to stay at.

Like previous reviewer mentioned, while the venue comes with chairs, tables etc, the amount of space means that you have to put a lot into decorating and space management. Unless your wedding is smaller than 200, you'll end up using the outdoor space to host a lot, and probably needing a tent. Worth thinking about in overall expenses.

The owners are kind and helpful! Super receptive to feedback and were available for any issue that arose over the weekend.

The Barn at Valhalla is an absolutely gorgeous place to get married! All our guests raved about how amazing the whole property was. There are so many cool and beautiful aspects to The Barn.

They provide a lot in the way of tables, chairs and lodging, but there is a lot of responsibility that falls on you with planning when you get married at a venue like this. I think it’s important to know that going in. I’m so glad we had our wedding here! It was so worth it! And the owners are the nicest people to work with!

I loved the Barn at Valhalla! I got so many compliments on how beautiful it was, and I enjoyed having a secluded place. It was great to book the location for Friday-Sunday, for about the same price you would pay for 8 hours at a banquet hall! I did hear, however, that the price went up about $1000 since we booked it last year. I'm not certain we would have felt it was as good of a value if it were a higher price. We did have an issue where we were confirmed to stay at the Barn until 3pm on Sunday because we had scheduled brunch, and the manager booked the next party to arrive at noon. She said she would push it to later and be there for the transition, but they arrived at noon and did not know we would be there until 3, and she was nowhere to be seen. Additionally, there is a good inventory of major items like tables, chairs, etc, but other items like pots and pans for the kitchen, enough blankets for the pull out beds, and other smaller items were difficult to find or not available at all. We had to overpack for a lot of things because we just didn't know if it would be available. Lastly, and this wasn't an issue for me, but may be for other brides, if you use the stone hearth for the ceremony, there is no back entrance, so you cannot walk down an aisle. You enter from the front, so the bridge is your aisle.
