We celebrated our wedding ceremony and reception with 125 guests at the Barn at Sunset Ranch in June 2024. Where to begin? The location - the mountain views were stunning, the property is perfect for a full day’s event and has all the amenities you could desire to design your day. Buena Vista is also a lovely, quaint town that our guests enjoyed exploring for several days. Everyone (the owners and venue manager) that we worked with were incredibly kind, accommodating, and communicative. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience planning the day, even from afar. We had the opportunity to host the dance on the patio, which was a total hit for our guests. We also loved the ability to customize our day by choosing each of our vendors. We can’t recommend the Barn enough. Thank you Sandy, Jim and Jayme for being such gracious hosts and for sharing this beautiful property with us and our loved ones.The Barn At Sunset Ranch's reply:

October 18th, 2025 Wedding
The Barn at Sunset Ranch is incredible and we cannot say enough how much we loved getting married at this venue. When my now husband and I visited The Barn back in November of 2024 we immediately fell in love with the venue and booked for our October 18th, 2025 wedding. The location is absolutely beautiful inside and out and the space is so well designed. The biggest thing that drew us to this venue for our wedding was not only the gorgeous view of Mt. Princeton but the fact that we had the freedom to make the space our own and do with it what we wished. The owners are incredible to work with and so responsive. Their staff and partner vendors were also great to work with. The Barn at Sunset Ranch allowed my husband and I to have our dream wedding day! The Barn at Sunset Ranch will forever hold a piece of my heart. This was truly the best day of my life, and the venue played such a meaningful role in making my day everything I dreamed it would be. Mrs. Greenfield was so pleasant to work with. Communication was quick and seamless. Setting up times and days for our special day, was less stressful because of the flexibility and kindness. Not to mention this barn being a dream wedding destination!! The bridal suite was a perfect place to get ready, plenty of room and space for quests and the cutest liquor trailer. All the staff was incredible and made me feel on cloud 9 the entire time. Thankful for this venue, the employees, and the memories! -

The Barn at Sunset Ranch was the perfect venue! We were in awe of the breathtaking mountain views that created the most stunning backdrop for our ceremony and photos. It was clean and ready for us to use at 8 am the morning of our wedding. They had great and fast communication during the whole process, even after you’ve booked the venue.

Brunch Wedding!
We loved this venue so much! I had a lot of family coming from out of state so we wanted to give them the ultimate Colorado experience! The views were beautiful for our brunch wedding and I love the indoor/outdoor combination so there’s wiggle room with poor weather. Jayme was super responsive during the whole process, very friendly and accommodating to our requests! It’s definitely on the pricier range considering you still have to do all the decorations/setup yourself, but we knew this going into it since you’re pretty much paying for the views.The Barn At Sunset Ranch's reply:

The Barn at Sunset Ranch was the perfect venue for our wedding. We were looking for a space that allowed for a more DIY approach, and this one checked all the boxes. The indoor-outdoor layout gave us so much flexibility, the mountain ceremony site was absolutely stunning, and we were able to include our dog in the celebration, which meant the world to us.
The on-site Airbnb made a great spot for the bridal party to get ready and have a home base throughout the day. We also had a child-heavy wedding, and the space offered plenty of room for kids to run around safely while adults enjoyed the evening, something we really appreciated.
Our guests had an incredible time. Some danced inside with the DJ, others sipped drinks around the fire pit. It offered the perfect flow for all ages and energy levels. We’ve heard nothing but great feedback from friends and family across the board.
There’s also convenient on-site parking and restrooms, which made everything seamless. Jayme, the owner, was a pleasure to work with. She was friendly, responsive, and helpful with every question along the way.
This venue holds a very special place in our hearts. We’ll always look back on it as the backdrop to one of the best days of our lives. Highly recommend the Barn at Sunset Ranch if you’re looking for a beautiful and versatile place to make your wedding your own.The Barn At Sunset Ranch's reply:

A gorgeous venue that easily accommodated our group of about 110 people. It was easy to get to, stylish, and so clean! The property was very well maintained and thoughtfully designed. Despite a massive snowstorm and continued snowfall during our event, the parking lot was plowed and the patio was cleared of snow so that our guests could step out and enjoy the fire pits and crisp mountain air. The owner Jayme was exceptionally kind and accommodating, even allowing us to host our event on an off season weekend! The manager Sandy was a joy to work with. She was present to greet us on arrival early in the day to help us set up our decorations and get things ready for the bar service she runs (The Pour Trailer - also great!). We loved having our wedding at The Barn at Sunset Ranch. It was an amazing day and they have thought of everything to make it go perfectly! We wanted a venue with mountain views so our guests could really experience the Colorado we love. The views at the barn are truly stunning and so many of our guests told us they were absolutely blown away. We had an unusually rainy and overcast day and it was still beautiful.
It was also important to us that we be close to a town both for an after party and for ease of access for our guests. Buena Vista itself is the quintessential cute mountain town and the downtown is only about 7 minutes away by car/shuttle. You get the experience of feeling as though you are in an isolated mountain retreat during the wedding but then can shuttle your guests to and from the venue without a long journey or losing steam before the after party.
The ceremony site is set up perfectly for stunning photography, the cocktail hour area has the same great views, and then the barn is perfect for dinner and dancing. The bridal suite is very large and spacious and they offer an Airbnb on site you can rent for more getting ready space or to spend the night after the wedding. We worked with Sandy as the venue contact and she was incredibly helpful and responsive!! I truly think she answered me within 10 minutes pretty much anytime I reached out to her. Any questions I had or concerns she was able to give me a solution and it's clear they've done so many weddings and have thought of everything. Sandy alone makes this a venue worth looking into! She also runs the Pour Trailer for the venue and will handle serving drinks/bartenders. We saved a lot of money on alcohol this way!
You do need to bring in all your own vendors so it can be a bit of work but they offer so many suggestions. Many of their vendor suggestions have done hundreds of weddings at the barn so they know exactly what to ask/provide. Plus you can bring your dog! Ours hung out the entire wedding tied to our head table and it was so special having the freedom to include her as much or little as we wanted. The Barn at Sunset Ranch is the most beautiful wedding venue you can imagine! We could not have picked a more special place for our wedding day! Jim and Jayme were so kind and made us feel welcomed at their beautiful venue. The manager, Sandy, was incredibly helpful, quick to respond, and answered all of our questions from the day we booked the venue a year before to the day of the wedding. Best day ever
My husband and I got married there August 1, 2024 and let me just say it was PERFECT. We live in Texas, and decided we wanted to do a destination wedding in Colorado, I booked this venue without touring it in person and trusted it would be as beautiful as it looks in pictures. It far exceeded all of my expectations and it's even more beautiful in person. The views are so UNREAL and we loved how spacious the barn was. Everyone couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the venue was! Sandy was BIG help along the way and the communication is so spot on, they are always there to help. Great place to get married!!
We had such a great experience at the Barn! They had a wedding the day before ours and when we arrived on site at 8am on our wedding morning, the venue was spotless and there was someone outside working so hard on the landscaping, which didnt look bad to begin with, but they wanted to get it perfect for us! You can tell they have a great system down and great team! Also, we loved having the pour trailer make our drinks! All of the vendors we used were recommended to us through the barn and they were all amazing. Overall, we could not recommend them more! Absolute Dream
We could not have asked for a better venue! From the staff (Sandy is amazing) to the space and the backdrop, everything was absolutely amazing. Most of our guests were from out of state and were just amazed with how beautiful The Barn and Buena Vista itself is. Having a bar custom to what we like was a huge added bonus and all of our vendors were suggested from the website and were a dream to work with!! Amazing venue
I can’t praise The Barn enough for helping us along every single step of the way in the emotional roller coaster of wedding planning! We had both our ceremony and reception there on May 23rd of this year. The ceremony area has a breathtakingly stunning view of the mountains which left all our guests in awe. The Barn itself (both inside and outside cocktail area) has an elegantly rustic feel and was fantastic for all our reception needs! The owners, Jim and Jayme, were very kind and communicative! They responded to any and every inquiry in a quick and efficient manner which always left us on a clear path during our journey! And THAT SANDY is one of the most kind, fun and efficient managers we have ever had the pleasure of working with in any field! She helped two people who felt overwhelmed at times and had no idea what they were doing through the ups and downs of our entire process and we can’t sing her praises enough! We absolutely hit the jackpot with this venue for our destination wedding! From the beginning, Jayme was super helpful and stayed in contact with us throughout the months leading up to our wedding. The space is absolutely incredible, we had beautiful weather and got to make use of their patio and outdoor space as well as the cozy barn. Sandy was amazing and the pour trailer was a huge hit on our wedding day! She worked with us to customize our menu and make it all happen. There are so many things to do in BV, our guests loved coming out there, so it’s a great destination spot. Everything about it was just fantastic. Highly recommend! -

We booked The Barn at Sunset Ranch based off of a single Tik-Tok that we saw two years ago. We crossed our fingers that it was going to be amazing and it easily surpassed all hopes and expectations. We had roughly 105 guests and it was the perfect amount of people for everyone to be comfortable in both the patio space for cocktail hour as well as for dinner in the barn. Throughout the night, majority of our guests came up and told us they had never seen a prettier venue...just book it! We also loved that it is a DIY venue because it led us to working with so many amazing vendors and people, the venue is dog friendly, and it has an attached airbnb which was SO cozy and convenient. We'd book it again in a heartbeat. Thank you Sandy, Jayme and Jim!

The best views in Buena Vista!
The Barn at Sunset Ranch is the most beautiful wedding venue in Buena Vista. We booked it because of the ceremony views, but every part of the property is delightful. The barn is a bit more intimate, but it provides beautiful updated decor, a spacious bridal suite, and even an on-site Airbnb. The team at The Barn was so easy to work with. They allowed us to have access to the venue early when possible and were so responsive and accommodating since we were planning from out of state. Beautiful Venue
The venue is absolutely gorgeous, we really wanted an outdoor wedding, in BV, with an incredible backdrop and The Barn delivered! The staff is also incredible, both Sandy and Jamie are super responsive with questions and were so helpful throughout the process. Genuine, kind vendors that treat you like family with the best view
Jayme, Jim, and Sandy (of the Pour Trailer at the Barn) are the sweetest people and were so wonderful to work with. After seeing photos of The Barn, we were instantly drawn to Buena Vista. This venue has absolutely everything you need for a beautiful Colorado wedding. Communication was excellent (both with us and our vendors) and the entire process of both planning and executing a wedding were seamless. We wanted a combination of mountains and rustic elegance, and the Barn delivered! We could not have been happier with our experience. The suite to get ready in is spacious, the ceremony site is beautiful, the Barn itself is gorgeous. I loved being able to choose my own vendors and bring our own alcohol. (Although a word of caution - with flexibility comes a fair amount of work on your part. I enjoy DIY so this was perfect for me, but if you want a one-stop they-do-everything for you then this is not your place!) Our acceptance rate put us over the 160-guest limit so we worked with Jayme and Sandy to put up a tent which worked out perfectly. And I really appreciated the section on the Barn's website with vendor options - we got a lot of our vendors there! -

The Perfect Rocky Mountain Wedding Experience
Looking back on our wedding so many months later, we are still so happy that we had it at the Barn at Sunset Ranch. The facility and property is so beautiful and well kept, the mountain view is better than pictures could ever capture, and the on-site beverage trailer is incredible. Additionally, the in-house tables and chairs are a great perk! Our guests had so much fun and to this day tell us that it was the best wedding they've ever been to! As soon as we got engaged, we knew that we wanted to celebrate our marriage somewhere special to us with an epic view of the mountains and Buena Vista was at the top of our list. We found The Barn at Sunset Ranch through a friend who went to a wedding there and were blown away by the photos. Once we met Jayme and saw The Barn, there was absolutely no question it was where we wanted to get married. Jayme and Jim are incredibly special people. Their warmth and kindness are unparalleled, and they pour so much love and care into building and maintaining the perfect wedding venue. We were so grateful for all the amazing updates they made to The Barn between booking with them and our wedding day. We fell in love when we first saw it, and it was even more beautiful by the time our day came! We were also very lucky to spend our wedding night at the Airbnb on site. It was so nice to enjoy the day until the very last moment knowing we were staying just a few steps away. Since our wedding, family and friends are still in awe of how beautiful The Barn at Sunset Ranch is. The barn was a dream
Wow, where do I start?! The barn gave me my dream wedding! Of course the view from the ceremony is just to die for. All the little details included in the venue; the suites to get ready, the back area for pictures, the fire pit, the outdoor patio for dancing, the brick wall inside, were all beautiful and unlike anything I’ve seen in another venue! Amazing beautiful
We had an amazing experience getting married at the Barn at Sunset Ranch. The views of the mountains are absolutely breathtaking, they were beautiful a backdrop for the best day of our lives especially having people come from out of state! The out door space was breathtaking! The owner Jayme is wonderful to work with and very accommodating. The venue lets you supply your own drinks and alcohol which really saves a lot of money. Sandy, who owns the Pour Trailer made amazing drinks with our menu! It truly was a magical day and we are very grateful to all our vendors but especially the Barn at Sunset Ranch. -

This venue is awe inspiringly beautiful. I cannot imagine a better setting to get married! People can't believe the views are real when they look at our wedding photos. Our guests kept stepping outside during dinner to snap photos of the sunset. If you want a quintessential Colorado mountain backdrop for your wedding, get married here. It was so nice having access to the venue all day so that there was no stress about set up time and the bridal suite was lovely for getting ready in. Every detail of the property is perfect for pictures (they even painted the storage shed to look cute). We also loved being able to choose all our own vendors (there are no required vendors other than the bar which is pretty uncommon) which helped us design our perfect wedding on our budget. The ability to but our own liquor (served by the AWESOME bartenders at the Pour Trailer) also saved a lot of money. While the beauty and amenities of the venue speaks for themselves, the thoughtfulness of the owners adds a really special touch. some of the other venues we toured had a very commercial/money-making vibe. This is SO different. Jayme and Jim built this place out of love (in fact they literally lived in the venue the first year since they love weddings so much) and continue pouring their loving touch into updates. From the time we toured and signed a contract they had added so many thoughtful little upgrades such as fire pits and a corn hole area that just showed how much they care about making the venue better and better. Jayme had so many lovely stories about couples they had met - she definitely cares about all the wonderful love stories on their property. Thank you for a truly incredible wedding day! -

Overall wonderful experience
We had an amazing experience getting married at the Barn at Sunset Ranch. The views of the mountains are absolutely breathtaking, they were beautiful a backdrop for the best day of our lives. Our guests loved the venue. There are so many great outdoor spaces you can use/ design for your events needs. The owner Jayme is wonderful to work with and very accommodating. The venue lets you supply your own drinks and alcohol which really saves a lot of money. Sandy, who owns the Pour Trailer made amazing drinks, we set up a second bar for cocktail hour to help with the bar surge. It truly was a magical day and we are very grateful to all our vendor and the Barn at Sunset Ranch. -

This place is one of a kind. My husband and I loved the Barn so much and it made our perfect day so much more special. This wedding venue not only has the best views and reception area, but Jayme is incredible and so helpful to work with. Our family and friends had a great time outside playing corn hole or by the cozy fire pits when it got chilly in the evening. Still today everyone talks about how amazing our venue was. My husband and I highly recommend. -

My husband and I got married at The Barn at Sunset Ranch on June 24th, 2022. It was everything we could have dreamed of AND MORE. Jamie and the staff at the barn are incredibly responsive and so great to work with. They made our experience what it was! There is an incredible Airbnb attached to the venue that worked perfectly for our wedding planner to stay in the night before AND the night of our wedding. This allowed for a smooth setup & cleanup once the night was over. The entire property is immaculate in every way - from the ceremony site to the barn to the reception area. I have zero complaints from our entire wedding weekend in Buena Vista... I would do it all over again in a second! -

The Barn was a blessing for our special day!
Having our wedding at The Barn At Sunset Ranch was an incredible blessing and an answered prayer. Beautiful venue aside, it was an absolute joy working with Jayme. She was so attentive and caring, down to every detail — a wonderful reassurance, considering my (now) husband and I were wedding planning thousands of miles away!
Just from the photos alone and from our conversations with Jayme, it was easy to book The Barn for our destination wedding, even without visiting the venue. Once we did get a chance to visit, to say it was "stunning" would be an understatement. Unbeatable views, immaculate weather, and thoughtful, intentional charm throughout the whole space — all of that interwoven together made this the perfect spot to say "I Do." Every aspect of The Barn is perfect, from the ceremony spot with Mt. Princeton decorating the skyline and the rustic beams and warmth of the reception space/charming outdoor patio, to the beautiful Bridal Suite and Groom Room, and even well-styled restrooms.
The day before, knowing the hectic planning my husband and I had with our travels, Jayme even let us start moving things into the venue and decorating ahead of time. (As there was no wedding the night before.) She met with us, prayed with us, and gave us so much wisdom and kind words, just as beautiful as The Barn itself! The Barn at Sunset Ranch was the most incredible setting for our wedding day! Not only were we surrounded by breathtaking views of the Collegiate Peaks and Mt. Princeton outside, but the inside of the barn itself is simply beautiful. There is also a beautiful Airbnb on-site where some of our family members stayed. On top of it all, Jayme & Jim could not have been more wonderful to work with! Jayme was so helpful and accomodating, and it is so evident that she cares deeply for every couple who is lucky enough to be married at the Barn at Sunset Ranch.

Where do I even start... The Barn at Sunset Ranch was the absolute perfect wedding venue for my husband and I. Not only is it an intimate, private venue sitting at the base of impressive 14,000 ft. mountains, but working with Jayme leading up to our big day made the experience fun and worry-free from start to finish. Like many 2020 couples, we wound up having to push our wedding date back a year to be able to accommodate all of the guests we had planned to invite. Jayme made sure changing our date was as easy as possible, and ensured we were able to have the same date we originally planned to have. Working with them throughout the planning process reassured me that we made the right choice when we picked this venue.
The gorgeous patio was the perfect setting for our cocktail hour. Mt. Princeton's beauty gave us a run for our money. And the attention to detail that went into every aspect of building the barn - from the romantic lighting inside to the comfortable carpet in the bridal suite - made for the perfect setting for our mountain wedding. If you're looking for a ranch-style wedding with impressive views owned by the sweetest people, look no further! If I had to do it all over again, I would pick the barn every time! -

When looking for venues I couldn't find anything in VA that WOW'ed me for the price that venues charge these days. My MIL suggested looking in CO because that is where all of my husband's family lives. I stumbled upon The Barn and the mountain views were just breathtaking. Jayme was timely and responsive. Our first time seeing the barn was via facetime and I was fortunate enough to meet Jayme at a bridal event they hosted at the barn pre covid. When COVID became a potential issue for our wedding she answered all of my crazy questions and reassured me that everything would be just fine! Our guests had a fantastic time, and everyone said how beautiful it was and I couldn't agree more.

My husband and I got married at the Barn at Sunset Ranch in August of 2019. We first viewed the property in early 2018, and even before the barn was built, we knew that this would be the perfect venue for our wedding. Throughout our wedding planning process, Jim and Jayme were the perfect hosts - they were responsive, caring, and hospitable. It was clear to us that they cared about so much more than just booking our wedding for the weekend - they asked us questions about our relationship, prayed for our upcoming marriage, and talked through countless details with us. During our wedding weekend, we couldn't have been happier with the venue. It was the perfect size, it was beautifully decorated, and it was the perfect setting for a Colorado mountain wedding. We received numerous compliments from our guests about the beautiful barn and the mountains behind it. I can't emphasize enough how PERFECT this venue (including it's wonderful owners) is! -

My guests raved about how beautiful the venue was! Everyone I have showed our video to has commented on how stunning the mountain views were for our ceremony. The barn was a blank canvas which makes it very easy to customize to your taste or style. I went with a very modern, bright, and gold theme and it worked beautiful there. I have seen photos from other weddings that were more rustic. The views and the simplicity of the barn are so great in that you can make it exactly what you want it to be. Jayme, the owner was easy to communicate and work with. I would highly recommend hiring a wedding coordinator with this venue as it is not included in the rental. I would say this about any venue that does not include a coordinator. The only thing to note is that it can be windy, so it's best to plan for that when thinking of decor for the ceremony site. The wind did make for some fantastic wedding veil photos and is to be expected with any outdoor mountain wedding venue in Colorado. I have already referred several people to the Barn. Being a newer venue it is an absolute steal for the price and I expect the prices will go up to reflect how wonderful of a venue this is! -

The Barn at Sunset Ranch was the best wedding venue we could have chosen. We looked at 17 venues and the barn was the last one we saw. The second we walked in (and saw the views out back) we knew we had to get married here. So much heart and soul was put into the venue by the owner Jayme! This venue is the most incredible and beautiful in Colorado. Jayme & Jim were very easy to work with from afar and Mount Princeton created the best backdrop of the entire evening. The interior is gorgeous, but the outdoor space (the majority of the wedding was outside except dinner & speeches) is to die for. A lawn for dancing, cobblestone patio for cocktails and never ending field of sage. DOG FRIENDLY & has an AirBnb room in the back for the newly weds if wanted! (we did not use this area, but it's a nice touch!). -

We got married here in August of 2022 and it was beautiful! The venue was clean when we arrived and we were able to get in early to get set up. We used a lot of the recommended vendors and they did great! The ability to use the whole venue from 8am to 12am is a huge plus. In some pictures you will see a white tent, which is not there anymore. Some cons. The groom's room is super small and not manageable for all the guys to get ready in. The bar your required to use will not supply water or maintain a water station which I thought was odd. Your food vendor will have to do that. They will not set up the tables a chairs for you which was frustrating, so I had to rely on others to help me with that and it was stressful. Communication could be better throughout the hole process. the wedding packet we got, was pretty outdated by the time we had our wedding. When we booked we were told we got to use the small room at the back of the venue which has a bedroom, but they we were told that is wasn't included and it was an extra cost. The room also is a ridiculous time frame. You pay a lot for less than 24 hours if you were going to use it. Overall, I would recommend the barn. Compared to other venues, the price seems to be on par with other similar venues. -
