  Professional, thoughtful, and heartfelt!

  We were really happy having Theresa as our officiant! She was well prepared, professional, generous with her help, easy to reach and communicate with. More importantly, she helped us create a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony for our outdoor mini-wedding. She had really nice templates to get us started, and we were able to customize the ceremony to really suit us. She was thoughtful about our needs and suggested several things that helped address our needs and our guests, including many who were participating virtually. Theresa was able to accommodate our schedule on pretty short notice and even offered use of her garden as an alternate rain location. We really felt she was invested in our wedding and with us each step of the way. Our guests really liked her, and so did we! She was a big part of making our wedding day so special.

  Theresa Thoden did an outstanding job. From day one, she was responsive and super helpful and super friendly. She made us feel special throughout the entire planning process of the ceremony. She is very reliable and looked beautiful the day of our wedding (her dress even matched our wedding colors perfectly). Theresa is so easy to work with. She helped us create a special ceremony with several personalized touches and made it all so easy to do. My father had heart surgery 5 days before the wedding and we didn't think he'd make it. Theresa and her husband came prepared with the webcam all set up for us. My father was able to make the trip but got ill the night of the wedding and couldn't leave his room so we are so grateful for the recording of the ceremony. Theresa is a delight to work with and provides amazing, friendly service. We are so grateful that Theresa officiated our ceremony. Thank you Theresa!

  I cant even begin to say how much of a pleasure it was working with Theresa Thoden. We got engaged in January and only a few short days later my father became very ill, so the wedding had to be planned in a very short 4 month period. I originally called Theresa (http://www.idopronounceyou.com/) to inquire about officiant services and received a lot more than I ever expected. Not only was this a very difficult time for me due to my father’s illness but the stress and headaches of planning a wedding were taking its toll. Theresa was extremely dependable, professional in every possible way. I felt as though this wasn’t just a service I was paying to have done but I was gaining a friend. Someone who truly cared about what was happening in my life and wanted to help me through it. She not only provided officiant services but was able to help me with my ceremony music (which was absolutely beautiful- thank you so much Christy and Devon). ME and my fiancé recently purchased our first house and wanted to have our rehearsal dinner at the new house so all of our out of town guests could celebrate with us. She provided everything I needed for my rehearsal BBQ dinner (tables/chairs/linens/cups/decorations/plastic cutlery that looked like real silver). She also set everything up for me as well and had tents on hand in case the weather turned. She has these darling 2 seater resin chairs with small tables that provide an intimate atmosphere. Her prices are unbelievably reasonable, I will definitely use her services again and recommend her to everyone !!!! Im sad to say that my father passed before our wedding date. Theresa handled the situation with such a delicate manner. She customized our ceremony to pay respects to him but was subtle enought that it didnt overpower the event, it was perfect. Thank you Theresa, I couldnt have accomplished this without you !!!

  Theresa performed well above any reasonable measure of excellence in officiating our wedding.
  
  Pre-Wedding:
  Theresa was easy to contact at any point during the pre-wedding process. She was interested not just in giving us what we wanted for a ceremony but also in making it painless and fun to plan as well allowing us as much input on the ceremony as we wished without taking any offense to changes or suggestions that we made. Theresa is a well of knowledge: she knows people in all elements of the business so she can make suggestions about anything you need to know; she knows what is traditional, what sounds good, what is easy, what is fun, etc.
  
  Wedding Day:
  Theresa arrived on our wedding day before even the bridegroom (who was organizing the pre-wedding stuff) got there and was already making sure that everything was set up. She was prepared and helped make sure that all elements of the ceremony outside her control were aware of what was going on. We both musicians and we have seen how typical officiants treat musicians with a mild to total neglect. We were particularly impressed at how she was willing to talk and work with musicians that were not a part of her organization and make sure that they knew what was going on. Having played as many weddings as we have combined, we can tell you that this is a more critical asset than you can ever know if you are not a musician. If you want the best out of your musicians, make sure that the officiant and the musicians are on the same page about everything. Theresa will do that for you without you needing to worry about anything. Like all weddings, there were some minor glitches but everything was beautiful. Theresa's words were inspiring and her preparations paided off in making our wedding go wonderfully.
  
  Post-Wedding:
  Theresa handled everything quickly and efficiently without us needing to worry. By the time we had returned from our honeymoon, Theresa had already finished everything without any need for worry on our part (exception: see next section).
  
  Special:
  Theresa offered for us (we were the trial wedding) and will be offering in the future a web casting and web conferencing of the wedding so that your important persons whom for whatever reason cannot make it to the wedding can see a streaming video and audio of the wedding and the reception. In our case, the bridegroom's grandfather who had a heart attack a week before my wedding, the bride's good friend who lives in the UK, and others got to watch our ceremony and then we were able to talk to them during the reception. Further, Theresa and her husband recorded the ceremony during the afore mentioned broadcast. We got a nice, though not "professional", video of our ceremony without the price of hiring an expensive videographer. The editing of the video, as this was the trial run, took a little while longer than our honeymoon to complete and there were a few minor glitches in the post-ceremony contact with the tele-attendees of the wedding. However, we believe that, after an excellent trial run which left all of the tele-attendees very happy, Theresa and her husband's service in this regard can only get better.
  
  We would highly recommend Theresa. You could not as for a more personally caring officiant who will do everything in her power to make your wedding wonderful and give you exactly what you want. Having attended many weddings, as musicians working for the bride and bridegroom, we can say that Theresa shattered our preconceptions of the problems that officiants have. She was wonderful! I would give her 6 stars in Value and Quality of Service in particular if I could.

  Terry Dearmore was exceptional as our wedding officiant. He is reliable, flexible, personable and affordable. All the qualities that you are looking for in an officiant.   Theresa was absolutely amazing. I contacted her very late in relation to my wedding date and she was so helpful and responsive. I felt like I'd known her forever when we talked on the phone for the first time. I got an unbelievable number of compliments on my ceremony, both the wording (much of which she wrote herself) and the officiating. Unfortunately I don't plan on marrying twice or I would use her again in a heartbeat!

She is willing to work and rework every aspect of the ceremony until it is absolutely perfect, although we found that she was on target with the first ceremony that she wrote.   I have attended many weddings, so I feel like I can say this without bias-Theresa Thoden provided us with the most special and personalized wedding ceremony that I have ever been witness to. She listened to our requests for the flow and order of the ceremony, made wonderful suggestions as to the readings and music, and put her personal unique touch on the entire event. Plus, she was willing to travel to southern VA to perform the ceremony for us. Her words were beautiful and she really put the two of us at ease, not only on our wedding day-but throughout the entire ceremony planning process. I had no fears about the actual ceremony, knowing it was in her capable hands. I would without a doubt recommend her as an officiant for anyone's wedding!
