Vow Renewal Perfection

The two best days of our lives were our wedding day some 30-odd years ago, and our Vow Renewal day officiated by the wonderful Rachel. We were in Florida in the middle of a cruise sailing with our best friends, and everything was perfect. Rachel is so friendly, warm and we just clicked from the outset, bonding over a mutual interest in a Scottish tv show and chocolate treats!

Her response time is excellent, she ‘gets it’ right away, has a comprehensive set of the information you need on her website, and this is in addition to being so approachable and sweet. Her prices are very reasonable - I had initially searched for ceremonies on the Caribbean islands we were visiting, and they were asking for crazy money. So it was a very lucky day indeed that I found thatweddinglady, and now have a lovely new friend.

Rachel let me get something I needed for the ceremony delivered to her home, nothing was too much trouble. The beach venue was all agreed, and we were good to go. We arrived in Fort Lauderdale and the weather was terrible - blowing a gale and lashing with rain at times. We found a little bit of shelter, and Rachel’s terrific husband helped shield us from the worst with a huge umbrella. Far from spoiling my dream image of us renewing our vows on a beautiful, sunshiny morning, the challenging weather somehow made it feel so much more fun, more real, more relaxed - and I wouldn’t have changed it! My hair was a mess, we got a bit wet, the wind blew - but it didn’t matter one bit.

Rachel’s ceremony was truly wonderful, her words perfect, and she deftly included our personal stuff. Beautiful sand and hand fasting ceremonies, a charming certificate and a copy of our ‘script’. Then great photos where she took a lot of trouble to get good shots in very challenging circumstances!

I cannot recommend the gorgeous lady enough - she will give you a day to remember.

Happy experience, great memories made! (Vow Renewal)

I have only high praises for Rachel. Our vow renewal was beautiful. She was in constant contact up through the day of the ceremony and gave lots of personal attention to every detail. The pictures she took was beautiful and she gave every picture a lot of thought. Rachel made us feel very comfortable, we felt like we had known her for a long time. And if that isn't enough, her pricing was extremely reasonable for what she included in the ceremony. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an officiant.

Amazing officiant!

Rachel was so helpful in our wedding process. She was extremely thorough, finding out every detail about us and our big day. We hired her for the rehearsal too and she explained everything to our bridal party and made all of our guests laugh. She was always very quick to answer any questions we had throughout the process. We would highly recommend her.

Wedding at Grande Oaks Golf Club

My husband and I had Rachel as our officiant for our wedding in March 9th, 2019. I found her on Wedding Wire. I noticed that she had the best reviews and she really cared about her clients so I sent her a message and she got back to me immediately. I was really impressed considering the other vendors took weeks to get back to me. When we spoke on the phone, we clicked right away. It was like we knew each other for years. Rachel is truly a sweetheart who loves her job. She goes above and beyond to make her clients happy on one of the biggest days of their lives. She really dug down into our love story. We had a sand ceremony and we used the sand from the beach that my fiance proposed to me with which was her idea. GENIUS! Not only is she dedicated to her brides happiness but she maked sure the ceremony went beautiful. The words to our ceremony and vows were enough to make the people at the wedding cry with tears of joy. She captured everything. She took our love story and made it into a fairytale story. I can't thank her enough for everything she did for us to make our wedding ceremony one we will never forget. All I have to say is "BEST OFFICIANT EVER!"

Above and beyond!

We did a renewal of vows ceremony for our 5th wedding anniversary, right before we went on a week-long cruise. Rachel put together such a beautiful ceremony, and it was truly the highlight of our vacation!

Rachel is very kind, patient, and creative, and is the perfect person to help you with your big day. Wedding jitters? Forget it! It was impossible to stay nervous, thanks to Rachel's calming demeanor.

After we're done the ceremony, Rachel pulls out her camera and asks us if we'd like to take some photos... Whaaaaat!!!!? We didn't even have to ask! They turned out so pretty, and will be a wonderful keepsake.

Rachel was a dream officant. We chose her based on her personality, great price for what fit our budget, and her large amount of experience that made us feel like she would take care of us. Leading up to the wedding, she visited our venue for us as we were out of the country and wrote a blog post personalized for us about every detail of her visit. We had multiple emails and FaceTime calls where she helped us tailor the ceremony to our unique ideas while also providing us with smart choices to make everyone’s life easier and simpler. On the day she came dressed so cute to fit our exact wedding style, had amazingly sweet and special words to say about us and for us, and all of our guests and parents told us multiple times how great she was and how perfect she was for us. Rachel truly is "That Wedding Lady." My wife and I renewed our wedding vows on the beach and we couldn't have been more pleased. The experience we had with Rachel was better than our original wedding ceremony.

Rachel was amazing and took care of every ceremony detail for our intimate beach wedding. I had no ideas about how I wanted the ceremony to go about a month prior to traveling to Florida, other than wanting it nonreligious and sweeet. She handled it all, from when to vows to a sand ceremony and it was perfect! Would absolutely recommend.

Rachael is an absolute doll! I fell in love with her just over the phone! She is such a pro at this wedding stuff. She constantly let me know that I was in her thoughts and on her mind. The week leading up to it she made sure we were prepared. The day before we had our rehearsal and my wedding party all swooned over her! They kept asking where I had found her! She is so funny and quirky and was the complete package. She kept me laughing and having such great memories of the rehearsal. Day of she was amazing, we ended up moving up the ceremony an hour ahead and she made it a priority to get there an extra hour or two early just to make sure we were good with what we needed. She calmed my then fiancé down when he saw the clouds moving in on the beach. Rachael I love you and I wish you could marry my husband and I every year!

Rachel was AWESOME, we had a small vow renewal ceremony, but that did not matter, she paid attention to every detail large or small. I had to coordinate as a surprise from overseas but everything went perfectly, thank you SO MUCH!

Rachel was awesome! I was very skeptical not meeting her in person before the wedding (even though she did offer if we needed it). She got to our venue super early on both the rehearsal day and the day of our wedding which put me at ease! Very affordable and was attentive via email thru the whole process. If you're looking for an officiant she is definitely your lady! She won't disappoint :)

I cannot say ENOUGH good things about Rachel!!
My husband and I decided with only a month's notice to forego our December 200 guest Ohio wedding for a relaxing ceremony for 2 in Delray Beach. As soon as I reached out to Rachel, I immediately heard back from her to start the planning! She made me so at ease that everything would be absolutely perfect for our sunrise ceremony. And it WAS! Her words were better than I could have expected during the ceremony..it was like she knew my husband and I for years with how she described our love and our personalities.

Rachel was more than we could have hoped for in an officiant. She went above and beyond. She even offered to pick us up from the airport and drive us to the courthouse to obtain our marriage license! This was in no way a part of her service but she offered gladly to do this for us. She made the whole experience a true dream for us.

Where do I being...Our wedding day was the most BEAUTIFUL day in the world for me, first because I married the woman of my dreams, and because of Rachel. I can't being to explain how scary it was for me especially not knowing a lot about weddings, Rachel made everything run smoothly. Fantastic is the word, to describe Rachel. We realized 2 days before our wedding that we actually did not have an officiant to perform our ceremony. I called Rachel, she laughed with me (or at me, either is fine and well deserved haha) and took it from there. In only 2 DAYS she had time to write a ceremony customized to who we are. 2 DAYS!
Rachel definitely has a way with words; halfway through the ceremony, half the attendance was in tears, touched by the beauty of her words!
I would recommend Rachel to everybody!

Where do I start!!!! My husband and I decided LAST MINUTE to get married on 12/13/14. I called Rachel about noon on the day I wanted to get married. She called me back within the hour and said she already had a wedding scheduled but she would be happy to come after and suggested a moonlight beach ceremony. She was so sweet and calming to me over the phone as my heart was racing at the thought of getting married so last minute. We couldn't have been happier with her services. Since it was last minute (hours notice) I wasn't expecting much but she far surpassed all our expectations. Afterward she even helped us snap a few pictures. You can tell she loves what she does and she is very good at it. I highly recommend her and when we have our "celebration of marriage" I hope she will officiate that too.

Rachel was our officiant for our wedding and she did an absolutely amazing job. She was easy to get in touch with and flexible. We had to change our ceremony location last minute as we got rained out, and she was easy to get ahold of and had no problem altering plans. The ceremony was beautiful, personalized, and intimate. I know she took the time to write the perfect ceremony for us as a couple. She was well spoken, funny, and polite. I don't plan on getting married again, but if I did I would use her every single time! My husband and I recommend her to everyone.

When my husband and I got engaged we wanted a very contemporary ceremony that was short and sweet and due to our beliefs, we wanted one free of any religious readings. My mother accidentally stumbled upon Rachel McMurray while we were looking for a venue. It ended up being such a lucky finding. Rachel was wonderful. She sends you a questionnaire to fill out and it's very easy and straight forward. She takes the time to get to know the couple you are and then creates a ceremony for your day that is unique and meaningful to you and your special someone. Even though she already had a wedding the night of our rehearsal she worked with our time and came and walked us through everything. She is informative and clear and leaves no questions to be answered. She has an amazing personality and made our rehearsal stress free and care free and fun. Our ceremony was everything I could have ever dreamed of. She gives you clear instructions on what and how to do everything and then makes sure it's exactly what you want. We got married in a gazebo and she even took the time to show us where me and my husband as well as our bridal party should stand for the photographers to get the best pictures. Cole and I did a very low cost wedding and she has very reasonable prices. I STRONGLY recommend her to anyone. I was very concerned with having someone marry us who knew us. I wanted it to mean something. I wanted the person to be standing next to us to know us and speak those all important words over us. And even though we had only physically met her the night before at the rehearsal, she was that person for us.

Rachel was perfect for our wedding! She was poised, professional, and personable.
It was a bit difficult for us to find the perfect officiant. We wanted a nonreligious, intimate, light-hearted ceremony. Rachel delivered! I think she's one of those people that can read people's styles well enough to squeeze her way in as the perfect fit! haha I would relate it to getting the perfect haircut!
Anyway, throughout the year of planning for our prolonged engagement, Rachel was helpful with what we needed to do and what she need from us in this process. She was quick to respond via phone, text, or email. This flexibility was much appreciated by us, since we didn't hire a wedding planner. Juggling many vendors is no easy job, but Rachel was super easy to work with!
Rachel completely understood when I told her that my husband did not want to recite vows, but rather, just wanted to say "i do". She wrote our ceremony script, advising us not to read it, so that the first time we heard it would be during the actual ceremony. I have to agree with her on this part, and recommend it to you all that can stand not to read it. Our script was perfect for us, and she even tied in a poem excerpt that was meaningful to us.
Just before the ceremony, Rachel separately visited with my husband and I to let us know how the ceremony would proceed (we had opted not to do a rehearsal). She was funny and at ease, but also very direct and clear in her communication. Her professionalism in this way, helped us both to calm down a bit, knowing that she'd be the one to lead us through the ceremony.
We'd recommend Rachel to anyone because as I mentioned, she's good at understanding people and what they want!

Can I give Rachel a 10? If I could I would. I did a lot of research/review reading to find an officiant who I felt that my Husband and I could work with, and who would provide us with a wedding ceremony that we would both love (funny, not stuffy, but professional). Everything you read about Rachel is true. The day of our wedding, our ceremony was amazing, she was able to capture our personalities completely. Everyone at our wedding was incredibly impressed with Rachel, and asked "how long have you known her?" When we informed everyone we had only communicated a few times through email, and our wedding day was the first day we actually met her face to face, they were shocked. They all figured Rachel was a friend of ours who has known us for years. THAT is how good she is. Rachel, Chris and I want to thank you for providing us with a wonderful ceremony on our wedding day. You are more than amazing!

Rachel was awesome with her words for our ceremony and very helpful throughout the whole process. She told our story at the beginning of the ceremony and her comical timing was perfect. Rachel officiated our wedding ceremony, it was raining so the ceremony had to be moved inside at the last minute, she did a fantastic job at organizing things on a whim. Our ceremony was exactly what we wanted. We did the sand unity ceremony with a few modifications and she was extremely open to my ideas and embraced them with no questions asked. She was extremely knowledgeable and professional and me and my groom feel very relaxed and at ease on a very nervous day. I have already highly recommended her. All of our guests and family commented on her professionalism and what a wonderful job she did at officiating out wedding ceremony. We thank you Rachel from the bottom of our hearts for making our day so extra special. Could not have asked for better!!! She really got to know us as couple and wrote a personal ceremony just for us. She really went far and beyond to make this day our best day. She suggesting great locations for the service since we were not from Florida, just knew the beach was where we would like to be married. Not only was she wonderful for the wedding details but was also great in helping with hotels and other things in the Amelia Island area. Definitely went out of her way in making our wonka vision pieces go together.

I was wed by this magnificent woman on 6/7/14.

Not only did Rachel do my ceremony, but she actually SAVED my wedding.

Due to family circumstances I was forced to plan a wedding in TWO WEEKS. Every bit of planning I had done for our wedding set in 2015 was no more, and being put up with the daunting task of trying to salvage anything from my dream wedding had turned me into a little big ball of emotions.

I didn t know where to begin.

I had seen reviews of That Wedding Lady everywhere, every single one of them was positive, and believe me, THEY RE ALL TRUE! I decided I would call her to see what all the rave was, and just talking to her had lifted weight off my shoulders and cast out any doubt within my heart. Her cheerful voice, her knowledge and can-do attitude were what sold me.

She kept in touch with every e-mail I sent her, every text, every call, she kept me calm and collected all the way till the big day! She even helped me salvage the scene, I wanted enchanting trees to surround me, and she delivered.

She helped make our ceremony more personal, and it was so eloquently delivered that there were tears all around of joy and happiness.

I am still blown away by everything that day, I actually looked at my wedding album today, I was hit by all the emotions again, because she helped me create amazing memories to remember for a lifetime.

From her beautifully written ceremony, to her soul inspiring spoken words, and her genuine persona, if you re looking for that in your wedding, she IS, That Wedding Lady.

I called 5 or 6 different officiants off of the web and was fairly disappointed in the interviews I had with them. I eventually picked Rachel. I listened to her voicemail and was almost sold before we even spoke in person. Her message was upbeat and fun. Then when we did connect, I knew she was the one. She's energetic, fun, and not stuffy like the others I'd called. We wanted our wedding to be fun for all involved. It was a destination wedding and we had to place our faith in the fact that she'd do a good job and make it special. We weren't disappointed. She assured us all would be fine and it was. She helped to make it a wonderful ceremony and her suggestions on what to add made it memorable for our guests. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone refreshing and upbeat to help you "tie the knot"! .

Rachel was perfect! Our situation was a bit different, in that we did not have a confirmed address until the morning of. My dad was ill and I was unsure of where location of wedding would be; the hospital at St. Vincent's or my brothers home who cares for him in Jacksonville FL. Rachel was so flexible, kind, and put together a perfect ceremony based on little information. I was so focused on my dad, that I did not have time to speak with her personally, plan what I would like her to say etc.

Experience makes a difference! I would recommend Rachel based on, anyone that can pull off the perfect ceremony, professional and made my day stress free deserves much more money then she requires!

Rachel was great! I reached out to her to help me with my sister's destination wedding. I wanted to be a part of the ceremony so we worked together on creating a ceremony for my sister and her fiance. Rachel came up with a script, I had a part, we discussed the unity section, I added a reading, it turned out beautiful and very personal. I could not have asked for a better officiant to work with. We chatted on the phone prior and were able to communicate the day of as well. She is very down to Earth and such a wonderful friendly person with good energy! Rachel is a very unique and funny soul and I liked that about her, which is why I hired her as our officiant. I was very adamant about not wanting to be given away, no religion, and much more, and Rachel found a way to get everything we needed in to our ceremony while leaving out what we didn't want. She also wore an awesome outfit, quoted Willy Wonka, which was hilarious, and just kept it lighthearted. I definitely recommend Rachel.

My husband and I could not be more thrilled with the sweet, emotional, and very "US" ceremony that Rachel put together. She spent time getting to know us, asked us relevant and important questions about who we are, what our relationship is about, and our lives. She took that information and created stunning vows that really spoke to what we are about. There wasn't a dry eye in the house during our vows. We've only been married two weeks and EVERYONE who talks about the wedding, says that the vows were the pinnacle of the day- which they should be. That Wedding Lady, Rachel, was an absolute savior for our wedding. We had previously chosen another officiant who backed out 6 weeks before our wedding. I contacted That Wedding Lady ten days before my ceremony date. She was so accommodating, since she already had two events planned for that date. We talked on the phone, we emailed and we texted over the following days. Rachael was so helpful on every aspect, from tips on what to expect with a beach wedding to the process for changing my name. Rachel is more than just an officiant, she's a friend. We were both incredibly impressed from the first time we spoke with Rachel by her promptness, availability to discuss details, friendliness yet professionalism... I could go on and on. The event itself was on a day she doesn't normally work, yet she went out of her way to help us. Rachel went above and beyond what I ever could have asked for as far as an officiant for our wedding. We wanted a small intimate ceremony and Rachel helped me by giving me a selection of venues as well as referred us to the photographers we used (alexandcammy.com). Rachel stayed in contact with us which was extremely helpful since my mind was all over the place and she really made me feel at ease. We did not have a rehearsal, but the second we met Rachel for our ceremony she made us feel at ease and it felt like we've known her for a long time. My husband and I decided to get married on short notice. Due to him being in the military we were unsure about the dates he was able to get leave. Rachel was wonderful, she was understanding and patient. She was flexible and willing to work with us. She was great and the ceremony was beautiful.

Rachel was amazing! She did everything for us all I had to do was tell her what I wanted and when and she made it happen! She is perfect for this line of work she really cares how your day goes and wants it to be absolutely beatiful and special for you. I would recommend her a million times over!

Rachel is very friendly, flexible, understanding, knowledgeable, and FUN!

To be honest I was expecting some boring old lady but turns out Rachel is quite the opposite!

Hand delivered our documents even though she only had to mail them which was REALLY nice and comforting

Will recommend to all friends!

Rachel was a pleasure to work with and from her first email response to me right up until the day of the renewal she was absolutely brilliant. Rachel took some time out to meet me for coffee pre ceremony and even assisted me with finding the right makeup. On the day she was also amazing and was helping with everything she could. I would highly recommend her service and for the price you are going to get your money's worth and then some. I know I will keep in touch with Rachel for a long time to come. We cannot thank her enough for everything.

Rach was just incredible. As the officiant of our wedding she played a huge role in our big day. She was incredibly flexible, caring, and warm as she guided us through the process. Last minute (literally during the ceremony) we changed to doing our vows quietly and Rach went with the flow. There is absolutely no one else I would have wanted to marry us. She has truly touched our lives.

Highly recommend Rachel's wedding officiant service to other brides. I was never one of those brides that relished planning the wedding. I didn't even know where to start! Rachel went so far above and beyond to put me in contact with providers in the area meeting my needs. It made everything so so so easy!

The ceremony itself was very sweet and written especially for us. We just downloaded the standard template from her website and used it as a guide to help us even figure out what to say. It was a great collaboration.

And the wedding certificate she gave us after the ceremony is a beautiful thing. The paper it is printed on was thick and gorgeous.

All in all, I was just really glad I stumbled across her website. She was a real lifesaver!

I called around 8:00 pm the night before the ceremony totally desparate for someone to preform our ceremony the next morn. (Due to a hurricane our plans had changed.) Luckily for us, she immediately agreed to do it! She was wonderful and did exactly what we asked for. I would highly recommend her!!! Thank you Rachel!

We were very nervous about renewing our vows. Once we talked to Rachel she immediately put out worries to ease. She was very helpful, listened to us and was able to give us ideas that made the experiance a very memorable one. Rachel was an absolute joy to work with. From the moment my fiancé (now husband) and I met with her we knew right away that she was the one we wanted to perform at our ceremony. She was very knowledgeable about all the details; from giving us all the options we needed to decide how we wanted the ceremony to go to all the behind the scene details of how to go about getting the marriage license and what needs to be done by when. You can tell that this is something she does because she enjoys it and that it’s not just a job to her. At the end of our first meeting with her she told us that if we did not decide to use her services we were still welcome to call her with any questions that we might have and she’d be more than happy to help us. I thought that spoke volumes about her and how much she enjoys doing this. From the moment that we decided to go with her up to the big day, she stayed in contact and checked to see if there was anything that we needed and I also thought that was another great quality about her. The day of the wedding she has her husband come along to assist with anything that she might need or that we might need and we were certainly glad to have him there. I am so happy that found her and will recommend her to any friends or family in the future. Thank you Rachel for being you 

I wish I could give Rachel a 10 on this review. I called her only days before we needed to get married and she not only put together a wonderful ceremony, but she was dressed in the colors we wore and she even brought to bug repellant to keep the yellow flies at bay while she officiated our wedding. I cannot recommend her enough, she kept in touch with me for the few days that I gave her to prepare and she picked the perfect spot that connected me, from California, with my new husband, from Florida.

You cannot go wrong having Rachel do your ceremony....she is FANTASTIC!!! Kat

I think that she is the best! Not only did she find the perfect spot for our beach wedding, she made it fun too! Additionally, Rachel is a great photographer and all around "wild and carazyyyyy gal!' If it was not for Rachel and her network of amazing professional associates, we would not have been able to pull off our wedding as 'out of staters' in six short days! Thank you so very much Rachel!

I AM in LOVE.. I wish Rachel could marry us everyday!! From the minute I spoke with her on the phone I felt like she got who we were as couple. She was so sincere and truly believes in what she does. The day of the wedding she walked into our hotel room and it was like a BURST of sunshine..she was so upbeat and happy and may I add she looked FABULOUS!!!

My best friend decided to get married 05.22.14 and we are using Rachel for her wedding.

Rachel, you were amazing! Thank you for making extra special. Mary and I were so lucky to find you, after emailing and searching for a month we were running out of options. It was a bit difficult to find someone willing to do a same sex commitment ceremony. You were very professional and followed up as you promised. You were great with our flower girls and ring bearer; they did everything you asked without a problem. Thank for meeting with us before the wedding and again for rehearsal. I can't say enough good things about Rachel. Having a connection with my officiant was very important to me and during our first conversation it just clicked that she was the person to facilitate this special day. I was looking to incorporate a lot of different aspects into the ceremony and her patience and feedback and sharing of ideas was such a big help. We met a couple of times before the wedding and exchanged a lot of emails and the fact that she was open to the different ideas my husband and I had allowed us the freedom to really create something special and I can truly say no one will have the same ceremony we did and Rachel made that happen. Her true talent came in not only helping me narrow the focus to a few key items but in scripting the ceremony itself so that each piece flowed into the next and was one cohesive presentation. She even kept a few pieces of the wording secret until the day of so that it wasn't all preplanned. I think she even adlibbed some of the opening to account for the crazy rainstorm we were enthralled in during the ceremony which made it that much more personal and meaningful to our day. Thank you Rachel so much! You really made our vision come to life!

Rachel was the officiant for our wedding and she did a lovely job. She made the ceremony fun and our friends and family really enjoyed her. She was very organized and was able to give us direction and suggestions on how ceremonies are typically performed since we weren't really sure what we were doing. I would recommend her, she does great work.
