We had our ceremony at the Taubman Museum of Art and it was absolutely gorgeous. We loved the stone wall, the long staircase, the light coming in through all the windows - it was just perfect. In addition to all that, Whitney was hands down the best person to work with. She was super responsive to any questions I had and didn't mind me email her a bajillion times in a row. The girls and I got ready on the third floor - we had mimosas, brought in Benny's for lunch, and took pictures out on the balcony. Whitney and Jackie were absolute professionals and made the entire day super easy and stress-free. I would definitely recommend the Taubman to anyone wanting to get married in downtown Roanoke. -

The Taubman Museum is an iconic gem in the heart of Roanoke. While most events are hosted in the dramatic atrium, we chose the balcony for our micro wedding—complete with breathtaking sunset views over the downtown skyline.
From the very beginning, the Taubman team was responsive, accommodating, and easy to work with as we planned and scheduled our event.
On the big day, we were blown away by the professionalism and attention to detail of the entire staff. My wife and I had taken a “simple and stress-free” approach to planning, which meant a few details inevitably slipped through the cracks—but the Taubman team didn’t miss a beat.
From staging and flow to refreshments and even full-length mirrors, they anticipated and handled every need—ours and our guests’—with care and precision.
We couldn’t have been happier with the entire experience and wouldn’t change a thing. -

The Taubman Museum of Art was the perfect choice for our wedding. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous—classy, clean, elegant, and modern. It provided a breathtaking backdrop that elevated every moment of our special day. But the incredible team behind the scenes truly sets The Taubman apart.
Whitney, the event coordinator, and her assistant Jackie are BEYOND five stars. They are, without a doubt, the best of the best. Whitney guided us every step of the way, asking all the questions we didn’t even know needed to be asked. Her attention to detail, proactive communication, and genuine care ensured that we had a stress-free, perfect wedding. She was engaged, polite, and kind in all her interactions with the vendors while advocating for us at every turn.
Whitney and Jackie thought of everything and had anything we could possibly need at a moment’s notice. Whitney worked seamlessly with Blue Ridge Catering and Lighting Ninja, creating a team effort that ensured every tiny detail came together beautifully. Her flexibility and communication with her team are unmatched.
Using The Taubman as our venue came with so many additional benefits. The location in downtown Roanoke made everything convenient for us and our guests. There are amazing restaurants nearby for rehearsal dinners, lodging options within walking distance, and it made the entire weekend so easy to navigate. The Hampton Inn’s corner room, with its balcony view of the museum, was such a cool and unique feature for our stay. Parking for the venue is easy, and our after-party at the Hotel Roanoke was the perfect way to wrap up the celebration.
If you’re looking for an elegant venue with the added perks of convenience, stunning views, and a world-class team to make your wedding day flawless, The Taubman Museum of Art is it. We are so grateful to Whitney, Jackie, and everyone involved for making our day absolutely unforgettable. -

Working with Whitney at the Taubman was amazing! If it had not been for her I would not have been sane on my wedding day. Taubman staff are so helpfuL. From day 1 when we decided to book the museum for our wedding, it was a breeze working to coordinate things with Whitney. She ensured everything was absolutely perfect at the museum. I could not be happier that I chose the Taubman museum and I had Whitney as the most amazing added bonus. If you’re considering having your wedding at the museum, there’s no need to think twice- it’s 100% worth it! -

Whitney was a wonderful coordinator. She was responsive and is very knowledgeable about events specifically weddings. She truly cared and wanted to make sure I had a wonderful day. The venue is amazing and is perfect for big or small weddings. My goal was to have a small, inexpensive ceremony that did not look cheap and the Taubman exceeded my expectations. I give Whitney a 10 out of 10 and give the Taubman a 10 out of 10. -

Delightful!
Whitney, the coordinator at the Taubman, was fantastic to work with - I cannot say enough about her bright personality, professionalism, and the timely and patient manner in which she responded to questions / requests leading up to our big day! She was always able to guide us in the right direction and provide insights based on her previous experience. Whitney worked well with the other vendors and is clearly experienced when it comes to event planning. We could not have asked for more! Highly recommend Whitney and her team at the Taubman! -

Magical Museum Wedding
My husband and I can not speak highly enough about our experience getting married at the Taubman Museum of Art in July. The staff went above and beyond to make our experience smooth and easy. We got so many compliments from our guests about how unique and beautiful our venue was and my friends still talk about my entrance walking down the grand staircase during our ceremony. I do not think you can beat the value for the price and I would 10/10 recommend getting married at the Taubman. -

A perfect wedding venue
We are so glad we chose the Taubman for our daughter's wedding. Management was easy to work with and professional. Our family and friends thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful setting, delicious food and great service. We received glowing feedback from our guests and we couldn't be happier. -

My son and his wife were the first wedding of the 2020 year at the Taubman Museum of Art. After 18 months of helping the happy couple plan, organize, and execute the event, I can't say enough great things about our experience with this venue. Carley, the Event Planner for the Museum, could not have been more considerate, caring, and responsive throughout the process. She guided them (and their bridal party) through the rehearsal, patiently handled many phone calls and emails, and was present throughout the process, including ensuring the wedding and reception themselves went off without a hitch. The night of, the museum was stunning, and the extensive coordination between the Taubman and their preferred caterer, Blue Ridge Catering, was in evidence throughout. Everything was stunning! This was an experience I would happily go through again because of the service and care received throughout the process and the day of the wedding. Thank you so very much! -

We had the most magical experience with the Taubman Museum of Art and their coordinators Carley and Hannah! They worked so closely with us when we were trying to plan our reception from across the country - and we could not have been in better hands! The venue itself is a stunning modern architecture museum that houses galleries upstairs that your guests can actually experience during the reception. The staff and housed vendors made the entire experience so easy and perfect! We could not have asked for a better reception site! -

We loved our wedding at the Taubman! It allowed us to be creative and unique for our wedding reception! We enjoyed the ability to truly design our wedding, the entrance down the stairs & how accommodating the Taubman was with all of our requests! The vendors, especially Carley, were so so helpful throughout the entire process (and we planned everything from a distance) so this was extremely helpful! The Taubman worked with us to truly make our day so special and we can’t thank them enough! -

Working with the Taubman was a great decision for my fiance and I. Carley was so personable and a pleasure to work with. She allowed my family and I to visit the Taubman multiple times before the wedding in order to try out different decorations and figure out how we wanted to organize the space. Additionally, Blue Ridge Catering, who the Taubman exclusively works with, was extremely hospitable and provided wonderful service. Our point person was Hannah, and she worked very closely with us throughout the whole process. We really felt like part of a family. -

Having our wedding at the Taubman this past April was the easiest, best choice I made in the entire wedding-planning experience! The venue is absolutely breath-taking, and it doesn't take much to turn it into a space out of a fairytale. The glass airplane from the ceiling is what first caught our attention - and it was a highlight of a lot of our guests' night as well! Carley was incredibly wonderful to work with, and she did a flawless job at turning our dream wedding into a reality. We truly could not have had a better experience! -

I cannot recommend the Taubman enough! Carley and the staff at the Taubman helped make my wedding planning experience easy, and my wedding ended up feeling and looking like a fairytale. We wanted an indoor venue because our wedding was late fall and we didn't want to risk the weather. We chose the Taubman because the price was amazing compared to other venues in the area, and Carley, the museum's event coordinator was so informative, helpful, and efficient. The Taubman totally transformed from an art museum to a beautiful nighttime wedding venue. We got married in the atrium, we had cocktail hour in the black box theater, and we had our reception in the auditorium and atrium. We used the bridal ready room on the third floor with the balcony that overlooks Roanoke. Our guests enjoyed dancing under the airplane in the lobby and thought it was unique to go upstairs and view the galleries during the reception. At the recommendation of the museum, we hired Lighting Ninja to cover the walls of the museum with white curtains and backlighting. I cannot emphasize enough how helpful Carley and the staff at the Taubman was in our planning process and on the day of the wedding. She was willing to meet with us several times, very responsive to emails and phone calls, and flexible. Overall, the venue was spacious, beautiful, easy to decorate with minimal decorations, budget-friendly, and unique. Highly recommend!!! -

She is so kind and sweet. She answered all the questions I had and worked diligently to ensure everything was just how I wanted it. She was a great mediator between me and all the venues arriving the day of the reception. Everything turned out absolutely beautifiul!

Aimee Hall was a terrific event coordinator and this wedding could not have happened without her! Location was perfect. Facility itself was beautiful if you appreciate modern/artistic/different. -

Whitney and the Taubman team were great. They were responsive over email, always willing to help, and compassionate through our whole reception.
The only downside is that you are required to use Blue Ridge Catering (BRC). The Taubman staff and BRC staff did not get along, causing awkward planning and communication. BRC was also much more expensive than their initial brochure led on.
Overall it was a great wedding reception, with much of the success being due to Whitney's help. -

This venue is stunning to look at, even during a winter evening wedding. The ability to have the galleries open during the reception and the alcove for a dance floor were big plusses for our guests. Planning with the Taubman was generally smooth, though there were numerous staffing turnovers along the way which required some duplication of efforts. While the planning process was bumpy at points, the Taubman provided a smooth facilitation of the wedding day! 95% of the staff we interacted with were friendly and supportive. One of the Taubman employees, Mark, really went above and beyond with me (the bride) waiting to walk down the aisle, and we heard of numerous guests raving about his knowledge of the art in the galleries throughout the night.
