November Wedding
We held our wedding at Tarrytown House in early November this year, and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Sales Manager Jenna Kresback worked with us having just joined TTHE, but was extremely knowledgable, responsive, and helpful during all aspects of the planning, answering all my specific questions during the planning process and helping us make the best decisions for our needs. Our wedding was in the Biddle Mansion, with the ceremony on the West Terrace, cocktail hour in the library and music rooms, and reception in the Winter Palace. On the day of the wedding, she and the venue staff worked seamlessly with my day-of-coordinator to make everything run smoothly.
The venue itself is picturesque beautiful and made for a perfect backdrop for all photos and events. All ours guests commented that the food was delicious and we loved being able to do the espresso martini as our specialty cocktail. We also did a room-block at the hotel, and the TTHE staff was very communicative and helpful as we worked out details of our guest's stay, which was necessary as the room-block system was a little clunky without help. Overall we had a magical and perfect wedding day at Tarrytown House and would recommend the venue to anyone!!-

TTH Wedding November 23rd, 2025
November 23rd, 2025 my wife and I had the privilege to get married at the Tarrytown House in Tarrytown, NY. From the start we were assisted by catering sales manager Ann Callaghan. Ann as well as the entirety of the TTH staff helped us pull off an incredible weekend within only a few short months. Ann’s level of responsiveness, care, professionalism, and dedication left myself and family quite reassured and confident through the entire process. TTH with the assistance of Ann is a must. I alongside my wife and family highly recommend.Tarrytown House Estate's reply:

Ann Callaghan will be delighted to know how much her responsiveness, care, and dedication meant to you and your family. Amazing Venue
My brother recently got married at Tarrytown House Estate, and the entire experience was so incredible that I felt compelled to write a review. From start to finish, the whole weekend was absolutely perfect. We kicked things off with a welcome reception in the Cellar, celebrated the most beautiful wedding, and ended with a lovely farewell brunch. The food throughout the entire weekend was absolutely delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly and professional. It truly is an amazing venue!
Ann was our catering manager, and words will never fully express how grateful we are for her. I work in the industry, so I know how demanding these events can be — but Ann handled everything with such ease and professionalism. She basically planned the entire event with my brother and now sister-in-law, and she was incredibly hands-on the day of the wedding. Her calming presence and impeccable organization kept us on schedule the whole day. For a family that is always late to everything, she somehow made sure we were on time!
It was a magical experience for everyone who attended, and we will recommend this venue to anyone planning a wedding. Thank you, Tarrytown House Estate, for making the day absolutely perfect not only for my brother and sister-in-law but for all the guests that attended.Tarrytown House Estate's reply:
DearTaylor,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this incredibly thoughtful review. We are truly honored that your family chose Tarrytown House Estate for such a special celebration, and we’re delighted to hear that the entire wedding weekend—from the welcome reception in the Cellar to the ceremony, and finally the farewell brunch—was everything you hoped it would be.
It’s wonderful to know that you enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and the warm professionalism of our staff throughout the festivities. Creating memorable experiences is at the heart of what we do, and your kind words mean so much to our entire team.
We are especially grateful for your praise of Ann. She brings an exceptional level of dedication, organization, and calm to every event she touches, and we’re thrilled that her guidance made the weekend seamless for you and your family—especially on such an important day. We will be sure to share your sentiments with her.
Thank you again for your heartfelt recommendation. It was a joy to be part of this milestone for your brother and sister-in-law, and we hope to welcome your family back to Tarrytown House Estate for future celebrations. -

Magical Wedding Weekend!!
Our son got married at nearby Lyndhurst Mansion, but we used Tarrytown House Estates for guest lodging, the rehearsal dinner, and the after-party following the reception at Lyndhurst. The rehearsal dinner space was perfect for 50 guests with a bar area right outside the room. The food was delicious and service wonderful. The back area with patio chairs and a fire pit was the perfect place for a low-key after-party for those not ready to have the night end. I would also recommend House of Flowers for locally prepared/delivered centerpieces.Tarrytown House Estate's reply:
Thank you so much for your amazing experiences, we will certainly share this with our team.
Congratulations. and we hope to see you here at The Tarry town House in the future again!
Kind Regards,
Jake Maas and the entire Tarrytown House Estate team

Highly Recommend!
We hosted our Passover Seder at Tarrytown House Estate in April 2025, and it was absolutely perfect! Living in Florida, I needed to find a venue that would be convenient and welcoming for my family, and Tarrytown House exceeded all expectations. Working with Ann made the planning process smooth and stress-free—she was responsive, thoughtful, and attentive to every detail. The staff the evening of the event was just as impressive: professional, respectful, and always ready to help. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our guests are still talking about it! We had such a wonderful experience that we’ve already booked again for next year. Highly recommend! -

Great venue
Great venue choice for our wedding. Having everything on site - parking, hotel, ceremony space, reception space - made a huge difference. Our main liaison did switch twice throughout the 9 months from signing til our wedding, but everyone we worked with we really liked. Lauren, Ann and then Jenna K. were really nice, helpful and professional.
Our guests had great compliments for the ceremony space (hudson river view!), the reception hall, the professionalism of the staff, and the ease of having the wedding on the same site as the hotel.
We also had a great experience working with the hotel. It's a very large hotel, so it can accommodate a big group.
The amenities are really nice, great gym, two pools, sauna, and a nice restaurant on-site (Goosefeather). Arranging the hotel block and dealing with a few guests' special needs was very easy. In particular, the front desk staff was extraordinary, especially Ordalina D., who went the extra mile to make our stay (as the couple getting married), our officiant's stay, and many of our guests' stays as comfortable and easy as possible.
All in all, we were very happy with choosing Tarrytown House Estate. -

A Great Venue for a Beautiful Wedding
Pros:
-Everything in one place. Tarrytown House Estates has a hotel on site, but is also able to host multiple events. We held a rehearsal dinner, our ceremony, cocktail hour, after party, and a breakfast the morning after all in one place. This was especially great for people who were traveling from far away
-GORGEOUS place. The grounds, the rooms, and the mansions themselves were beautiful and you got great views of the Hudson depending on where you were
-The recommended vendors list TTHE provides was incredibly helpful, not only were the different service providers familiar with the grounds which is an obvious plus, but in hindsight, it is clear that TTHE has curated a list of some of the best professionals in the wedding space in and near Westchester county.
-Staff at the hotel was incredibly kind and the rooms were comfortable
-The Staff for the ceremony and reception were excellent. They made sure that everything was set up to perfection
-The food is fantastic, better than any wedding or large event we’ve been to in many years. Only the best things to say about the chef and their staff.
-Julie Ann was knowledgeable, personable, and so detailed and organized. She was a massive help throughout our time working with her, but even more so the day before and the day of. She took the time to get to know us, which is something given how much she has on her plate every day, and made sure our experience was as personable as possible.
Cons
-Before Julie Ann, we had worked with 3 other catering sales managers. Each of those 4 individuals was great, especially Juile Ann, who really put us at ease as the date got closer, but the overall feeling of things being passed around did have us feeling concerned at times.
-The mobility-impaired individuals in our wedding party did not receive rooms that accommodated them. They were given rooms that ended up being a long walk for them and had to use multiple staircases
-The suite in the King Mansion had a beautiful balcony and great views of the Hudson. However, the King Mansion had a bad odor in the carpeted areas -

Special venue and a gracious and accommodating staff
We had to reschedule our wedding because of the pandemic and these guys were very helpful and understanding. Working with Jennifer was so easy and she is quite possibly the sweetest person in the world! And the whole staff - everyone was just so nice and helpful. We loved our wedding there and hope you do too! -

Perfect day, wonderful working with Tracy
I got married at Tarrytown House in June 2019 and everything was perfect. I worked with Tracy and I could not imagine planning a wedding without her. I was constantly asking her questions and changing things up until the last minute, she was always there willing to help along with a smile. She found a solution for everything I could throw at her and I could tell she genuinely cared about making this the best day possible for us. She really seems to love what she does and has experience doing it. I felt like I was the only wedding she was working on, when in reality she probably had dozens of other brides and events being planned, she is truly amazing.
The food was excellent. I had an idea what to expect for the sit-down meal from when we did the tasting, but the cocktail hour surpassed my expectations! (I would recommend the Hudson Heirloom station with the Burrata and Mozzarella, it got particularly high praise from the guests!) Everything was really well done; everyone enjoyed the setting out on the patio as well. The food during the reception was very good, and the service seemed very attentive, covering guest’s meals if they were not sitting down so it would not get cold.
The setting was perfect and having the hotel right there was a huge plus for the guests and us. It really made for a fun and easy weekend with everyone together on the grounds. I was a bit nervous about the hotel since I had seen some negative reviews. There were a few minor issues that I heard about; AC not working, guests given the wrong room number, etc. But I did not hear about anything major and was overall pleased with the hotel.
I would definitely recommend Tarrytown House, especially if you are working with Tracy! -

Our daughter had her wedding here exactly one year ago and it was perfect from beginning to end. We loved that no one had to leave the property for the after party or breakfast the next day and each venue was done with the utmost care. We had more than a few of our guests tell us that it was one of the best weddings they ever went to. The staff couldn't be more accommodating and the food was fantastic from horderves to the wedding cake. In fact, we just ate the wedding cake after it had been in our freezer for one year and it was still amazing! We ate every piece of it. Sweet Grace travels from New Jersey to make wedding cakes for The Tarrytown House and they are a work of art. The same thing with their florist Forever Bloom. The owner Shelly is a master at Elegance.
So here we were, exactly one year later, and we had to go back again which could be dangerous with our expectations so high, but we couldn't help ourselves. It was exactly as we remembered it....truly sensational from beginning to end. If anything, it is getting better with time. The grounds have new plantings and we understand that the ballroom has new curtains and a beautiful new rug. The staff is just as accommodating as we remembered and the food is even more delicious than we remembered! We are so glad that we went last night. It was everything we remembered and more. -

The Tarrytown House hosted me and my husband's wedding weekend in October 2018, and the venue and staff truly made our wedding weekend more incredible than we ever could've imagined. Throughout the planning process, there were multiple contacts to work with and they were very accommodating to our busy work schedules. They provided recommendations of vendors (all of which turned out fantastically) and provided wonderful professionalism that made the planning process so much less stressful. More than half of our attendees were traveling from out of town, and it couldn't have been a better venue for a multi-day event. With guests arriving Thursday, we hosted a welcome BBQ on site on Friday, ceremony/reception Saturday, and brunch Sunday. Every event was executed flawlessly by Tarrytown House, and our guests could not stop talking about how incredible the grounds and people were. With the grounds boasting generous space, it never felt like guests were "stuck" in a hotel which can happen during a multi-day event. It truly was a weekend getaway for them and the most beautiful landscape to marry my best friend. My husband and I are extremely type A and planned everything to the second which could usually lead to disappointment, but Tarrytown House (thanks to their remarkable staff) truly is the reason our weekend exceeded our expectations and made it even more wonderful!-

Romantic. Grand. Vintage. Chic. Our wedding at Tarrytown House Estate was whimsical, to say the least. We had such a warm and welcoming experience from start to finish with the full team at TTH. Our wedding coordinator at TTH, Liz Edwards, was incredibly professional, communicative and accommodating. She was always smiling and just a lovely, sunshiny person to be around. If you are a bride and have the opportunity to work with Liz, you will be forever calm and collected in planning your big day. My confidence in her and TTH was steadfast throughout and I had little to no stress during/leading up to our whole weekend celebration. I was also very lucky to have Sandra as my bridal attendant. She was amazing! The venue itself made for a very easy environment - where we could stay in the hotel rooms and wake up in the same place of the wedding and have all events of the day on property. Super smooth for us and our out of town guests. Day of, we had an outdoor ceremony on the Terrace. It was beautiful! And our cocktail hour/reception were in the Biddle Mansion. Our reception was an energized party, full of life and love and laughter and yet we had an intimate feel inside the Winter Palace room of the Biddle Mansion. The aesthetic is classic, elegant and historic in essence. The exterior's natural greens and florals are beautiful. We had little decor needed because the venue truly speaks for itself. The food...well, still daydreaming about all the food! Not only was everything just as delicious as it was at our tasting, but there was also such an abundance of food and beverage. Totally worth the money. My family and friends are huge into food/drink and everyone went back to their rooms happy and full. The cocktail hour is too good! Many options and many interactive displays. And the 3 course meal, plus dessert was exceptional too. Overall, we had a blast and the absolute best time celebrating with Tarrytown House Estate. I whole heartedly recommend TTH! -

AMAZING!!!! We were married just over a month ago at Tarrytown House Estate and we could not be happier with the decision to trust them with executing the absolute best day we could have asked for. Liz was wonderful to us in the months leading up to our big day - she took her time to answer every one of our questions about the menu and space to help create both a Ceremony and Reception that was exactly what we hoped for. I emailed her MANY times along the way and she was very responsive and helpful by sending me photos of prior events and making suggestions so that I could create the perfect timeline for our day. Sandra was my Bridal Attendant and she was the BEST! My lace dress ripped a few minutes before photos and she was there to sew it in place. She also helped me with my bustle and and continually made plates of food for my husband and I and made sure we had drinks and were well taken care of as we focused on mingling with each of our guests. She took care of moving all of the items my bridal party and I left in the bridal suite over to my honeymoon suite the evening of the wedding, and she packaged all of our keepsake items and had them ready for me in our suite so that I didn't have to worry about anything at the end of the evening. We also reserved the Cellar 49 space for our after party and our guests really loved being able to stay on the property for every portion of our event. Our phones were ringing ALL DAY the day after our party to say what a great time they had. We contracted the Grand Duke package (for a party of 100) and THE FOOD IS AMAZING! We had enough food at cocktail hour to serve a small wedding. The dessert hour and party enhancements were a great way to add a little something special and unexpected treat for our guests. Our photos just came in and the West Terrace and Biddle Mansion lawn are a gorgeous backdrop for photos. They provided a table for our Cigar Roller and a space for a Sinatra Singer as well. They were completely amenable to -

We had our wedding in the King Mansion this Halloween. Everything was so beautiful, and it was a lot of fun to get to have all of our friends and family stay in one place. We worked with Liz and Gina, who were both incredibly helpful throughout the planning process. Liz was there on the night of our wedding, and she kept everything running very smoothly. She's also an absolute sweetheart-we loved having her there. :) While it's certainly not a cheap wedding, for the NYC area, it's a fantastic value, and the quality of everything you get is unbeatable. The property is so beautiful, and the food was amazing. Everyone who works here goes out of their way to make you feel special, too. I'm so, so glad we decided to have our wedding here.
One note of warning: we had some trouble with the reservations department. I'm still not 100% sure where all of the confusion came from, BUT they're moving their system online, I think, so hopefully this won't be an issue at all in the future. Just make sure you're very, very clear and follow up with room block info. Even with this issue, however, I'd recommend TTH without any hesitation. -

We are so happy that we chose to have our Wedding at Tarrytown House Estate. The entire weekend was perfect, and we are so thankful for all of the hard work of all of the staff. In particular we worked with Liz who was amazing throughout the entire planning process and on our wedding day. She was always accessible, able to answer all of our questions, and wanted to make sure we were always happy. On the day of the wedding we are also so thankful to Sandra for all she did too! The grounds are beautiful, the food is delicious, and the staff are wonderful. We had the most perfect wedding day! Thank you Tarrytown House! -

We had the most wonderful experience at the Tarrytown House Estate. The venue was perfect for us, as we had 130 guests, and many Westchester venues are either too big or too small to accommodate that intermediate number on a prime Saturday night (we were married 5/21). The Biddle Mansion was the perfect spot, filled with romantic details and a nice big dance floor! The event team at the Tarrytown House is top-notch, and Liz and Gina are fabulous event planners! They responded to emails promptly, answered all of my questions/concerns, and made the whole process smooth and easy! Everyone was kind and courteous, led by the awesome Tarrytown House Hotel Manager, Joe Santore, who made a point to welcome us to the property on our wedding weekend. The staff took care of everything, and had all aspects of the event organized so that I could enjoy the entire day. In particular, my bridal attendant Sandra S. was the most amazing person to help me throughout the wedding day. She paid attention to every detail. In addition to helping us get settled in and ready during wedding prep beginning at 10am, she saved us a plate of our cocktail hors d'oeuvres, carried my bouquet during pictures, helped bustle my dress, and even knew to hide tissues inside my bouquet just as I was about to walk down the aisle. She made me feel so very special, and I am so thankful for her help throughout the day and all of her bridal expertise. There was plenty of food and it was all delicious. We were able to choose from a variety of add-on options to customize our wedding menu. I was considering a few different upscale Westchester venues before I decided on the Biddle Mansion, but in retrospect, we didn't need to look any further than the Tarrytown House. We are so happy that we celebrated our special day at this fantastic wedding venue! Thank you for everything! -

The Tarrytown House Estate was wonderful! We worked with Liz and Antonio and they were awesome! They were both extremely helpful and responsive. They were easy to talk to and a calming presence the day of our wedding. All of our guests are still talking about how great the food was for both the rehearsal and the reception. The service was exceptional. We are so happy and couldn't not have asked for a move perfect experience. -

I cannot speak highly enough about the Tarrytown House as the venue for our wedding. Even more specifically, about the service received by Amanda DePalma (Catering Sales Manager). My husband and I loved the estate from the moment we saw it (we both agreed on it!), and Amanda was just delightful from day one! Professional, friendly, helpful, patient - for 13 months, Amanda was all of these things and more. As we got closer to the wedding and I met more of the staff, I could immediately see that there was a very high level of service all across the board. The Chef and Sous Chef came out to meet us during our tasting and were absolutely accommodating to our requests. In booking a venue, the one unknown factor I was concerned about was the food. You book a venue, and in most cases do not have the opportunity to taste their menu first. I had no reason to worry! The food was phenomenal! In the weeks after the wedding, as I spoke with family and friends, it was all anyone could talk about! Everything was delicious! And there was tremendous value for the money: we selected the smallest of the available catering packages because on paper, it seemed like a lot of food...and it was! The food was plentiful and my guests wanted for nothing! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our wedding day, and a big part of the reason is because we knew we were in good hands. As a final comment, the location is stunningly beautiful and so picturesque! Thank you! -

My husband and I got married here September of 2012. This was the first and last venue we visited while looking for a place to get married. We were sold after meeting with their event coordinator Dave Smith and seeing their goregous grounds. I really wanted to have our ceremony outside and they provided a stunning stone patio for that with an amazing view of their garden and partial view of the Hudson River. Our ceremony was so beautiful and perfect. Their mansions are very special and the insides are breathtaking. Excellent for photos. The Biddle Mansion (where our ceremony/cocktail and reception were) has an upper class historic feel. Not only was our ceremony and reception just beautiful but the organization of their staff is unparalelled. Everything went off without a glitch because the staff at Tarrytown House is on their A game. Right down to the set up and dismanteling of our candy bar. Which I took extremely seriously. The service was amazing. They really thought of everything and did all the thinking for you. I can't say enough about Dave Smith. He takes his job extremely seriously and genuinely wants your event to be perfect. He put so much care into our wedding I will never forget it. I realized I forgot to put my veil on seconds before walking outside for our ceremony and Dave ran to my room to get it in a flash. And made sure it was safely delivered back to my room after the cocktail hour. I knew our wedding would be perfect thanks to him and it was. They served so much food and it was extremely tasty. Our guests raved about it. One thing that surprised us, pleasantly, was Dave ushering us into a private room directly after our ceremony so we could take a breath and eat some food before stepping out into the crowd, where we surely would not have eaten a thing because we were too busy greeting our guests. I could go on and on about this amazing place. We very much look forward to visiting again and again to relive our unforgettable day. -

Beautiful setting both indoors and outside. Attention to all details both large and small. Hotel on property and multiple mansions allows for a Friday to Sunday weekend with no repetition of venue. A special place for a bride to have the wedding of her dreams! -

From the moment we drove through the front gate, we knew this is where we wanted to have our wedding. The beautiful landscape and the architectural detail of the mansions on the estate makes you feel as if you have been transported to another time and land. Dave Smith, the catering manager, is absolutely amazing. He was attentive, kind, professional, informative and an absolute pleasure to work with. Every e-mail I sent over 12 months of planning was answered in the same day. The convenience of having a hotel on site is also a plus. They gave us a special group rate, and my wedding wound up booking almost 50 of their rooms. Everyone said they had a nice stay. Our wedding was perfect and everything ran smoothly. The cocktail hour was 1/2 inside and 1/2 outside on the beautiful terrace - luckily we had beautiful weather. The reception was in the Mary Duke Ballroom. All my guests were raving about how amazing the food was - every entree was delicious. We also did the dessert hour which was a huge hit with our guests. Overall, I could not say enough wonderful things about this venue. They surpassed my expectations, which is not easy to do. -

Tarrytown House Estate is a magnificent venue to have a wedding. There are so many choices of indoor and outdoor spaces to choose from. So if it rains the indoor spaces are beautiful and if weather is good, the outdoor spaces are so scenic. If you have a smaller number of guests, there is the Biddle Mansion or Winter Palace. For larger numbers the Mary Duke Ballroom is available. The Statue Garden is where we had the ceremony (the weather finally cleared up). The lawn and gardens are beautifully kept and make for a scenic backdrop for a ceremony. Staff is courteous & friendly. Our wedding planner, Gail, was there every step to guide us and make suggestions. Rooms (very nice & clean) are available for out of town guests, which was important to us, since we had people flying in from all over the world and didn't want them to have to travel around for the rehearsal dinner, ceremony & reception. Very happy with our choice.
Food was delicious, lots of variety- everyone raved about the cocktail hour too. Get the Chocolate Sampler for dessert. -

I can't even express in words how wonderful our wedding was and it was all made possible by the Director of Catering and his staff. David was absolutely amazing. The grounds gorgeous and still 8 months later I'm hearing comment of how fantastic the food at our wedding was. I would recommend Tarrytown House & Estates to anyone looking for a historic venue w/ a Director who caters to your every need. -

HIGHLY recommend the Tarrytown House Estate! It is what little girls dream of as their wedding site. The views are breathtaking, the grounds are impeccable, on-site hotel, cellar 49 and the castle feel of a fairytale wedding. We worked with David Smith, the catering manager and I can not speak highly enough, he was very hands on, quick to reply to any question asked and so personable - amazing to work with. The entire staff was amazing and it really made our wedding all that we could of dreamed of and more! Lauren & Steve Hay -

My wedding was this weekend at the Tarrytown house. All I can say is WOW. The day went better than I ever pictured it. From the moment we arrived the staff helped us get settled into our rooms and brought us some food to munch on while we were taking pictures. Then we flowed right into cocktail hour and I can not say enough about the amazing food. And the staff they were great. The entire night from start to finish was picture perfect. Dave Smith the catering manager took care of every single detail and he did not disappoint. : ) -

Tarrytown House Estate is a Wonderful Place for a Wedding!
We just celebrated our daughter’s wedding at Tarrytown House Estate and it was magical! All our guests commented on what a fabulous celebration it was in the most perfect setting, with amazing food, excellent service, wonderful accommodations, and the most beautiful property both inside and outside. There are endless opportunities for wonderful photos throughout the property. The Catering Manager, Jenna K., was an absolute pleasure to work with, and was always responsive to all our questions and concerns throughout the process. In addition, she was there on Wedding Day to make sure everything went according to plan. There are so many wonderful spaces at the property, and you can definitely tailor your event to your needs. We had a late October ceremony outside on Duke Terrace under the string lights with outdoor patio heaters for warmth. Cocktail Hour was inside the Biddle Mansion rooms which are stunning. And the reception was in the Mary Duke Ballroom, which was nice and spacious to accommodate our band and a photo booth. The Linden Room outside the ballroom was also lovely and spacious, where we set up the guest book and other personal items. There were also wonderful getting-ready rooms for both the bride and groom and their attendants. Overall, Tarrytown House Estate is a wonderful place for a wedding! -

The Tarrytown House Estate is an absolutely gorgeous venue for a wedding; the mansion overlooking the Hudson and the entire campus inspired our photographer and impressed all of our guests. The venue itself is also designed well for a ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and the convenience of the onsite hotel made the day a breeze for our out of town guests. We highly recommend their catering for your reception as their chef was able to build a menu that satisfied our guests, some of which had dietary restrictions. The day of coordinators (Gina and Elizabeth) was also very easy to work and communicate with, and even helped us to store our day-of decorations. -

The venue was beautiful, the staff was super friendly, and everyone was beyond helpful. Very professional. The food was the best food I've ever seen at a wedding and was plentiful! They were even offering some guests seconds (though everyone was too full to accept)! Tarrytown House coordinated everything with our vendors and lead the events of the evening so that my bride and I were fully able to enjoy our night. It was stress free and full of fun for us. The rooms were clean and very convenient for our guests. Overall, this venue was money well spent. -

We held our wedding at Tarrytown House Estate over Labor Day weekend. The hold a number of events every weekend, so they have it down to a science and everything was seemless. You also do not realize that the other events are going on (so I didn't feel like I was in a wedding factory). Big plus.
Everything was on-site: outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour (they also have indoor options), indoor reception, rehearsal dinner, and a cocktail hour for guests staying at the hotel the night before the wedding. All events were perfect. Since it's a hotel, we could stay onsite too, so no transportation was necessary. The hotel itself offers a breakfast (it's not free, but it is very good); they have a terrific hotel restaurant with a very nice adjecent bar area; lots for guests to do on the property -- two pools (the outdoor pool with a very nice bar/cafe), fitness center, massages available by appointment, tennis, raquette ball, bocce, horse shoes, basket ball; and it's close to a numer of tourist attractions. It's super easy to get there too -- some friends made it all the way from La Guardia on public transportation alone (except for a quick cab from the train station in Tarrytown).
The quality of the food and the service was excellent. It was beyond what I had hoped for. Our event coordinator from Tarrytown House, Dave Smith, was outstanding. He gave a thousand percent to us and our event. I can't say enough good things about him.
A few potential negatives are as follows: you must choose your baker and florist from the list they provide. I was very happy with the choices offered to us, but if you have your heart set on a certain florist, they may not be on the list. Also, the hotel restaurant and bar is only open to guests of the hotel, so a number of our guests not staying at the hotel could not join us for the after-party. However, I found that the people who would have stayed at the after-party stayed at the hotel anyway. Finally, you may also have some problems with their reservation department. For some reason, they cannot figure out how to make their reservation process easy. The majority of our head-aches came from this group. You need to make sure you are crystal clear when talking to the reservation department, and follow-up with them fanatically. However, Dave Smith immediately helped us fix any problems, and the wedding itself was so terrific, as was the whole weekend, that it makes those problems seem completely insignificant now.
I would recommend Tarrytown House Estate many times over. They made my wedding everything I had ever wanted. -

We LOVED Tarrytown House Estate for our wedding!
TTHE was an amazing venue for our wedding weekend 9/26/2025 - 9/27/2025. We had a large guest list of almost 250 people and several events, and TTHE was the perfect setting to accommodate our needs. We used Biddle Mansion's beautiful spaces for all of our events, and most of our guests ended up staying on the property because of how convenient, accessible and enticing it was! Everyone ranging from young kids to elders enjoyed their time at TTHE both during the wedding events as well as the downtime -- they loved the lawns to play on, spaces to congregate, and how close the nearby towns are.
TTHE's services were excellent and Jenna was always very communicative, helpful, detailed and organized. We absolutely loved working with her. The rest of the staff was also very bright and friendly, many of our guests reported having warm exchanged with staff members, especially at breakfast.
Our wedding weekend at Tarrytown was incredible, this venue allowed our families to spend quality time together and merge into one! -

Beautiful venue!
We had an amazing wedding at the Tarrytown House Estate (TTHE)! Julie Ann was particularly wonderful to work with. We decided on this venue, mostly due to how accommodating they were with our dietary preferences. They provided 4 out of 6 hors d'oeuvres vegan, plus a non-vegan custom choice that the chef created just for us. And they provided a custom tasting menu with all vegan dishes for us to choose from (we ended up having 1 chicken and 2 vegan options for entrees). The venue itself was so beautiful, that we saved a ton of money in decor - the statue garden had plenty of flowers and trees to serve as a backdrop. My only note here would be that there may be a few extra emails needed, and questions may need to be asked a few times to get an answer. And its a separate entity, but the hotel booking experience was less than pleasant for us. If you're also booking a group block for a wedding - make sure to be patient with the Room Director and double check *everything* to make sure your guests are all accounted for and are getting the proper rate.
All in all - we had a wonderful wedding and are very grateful to the TTHE for helping us make it happen. -

The Venue was the Total Package!
We'd recommend this venue for any couple's special day! The Tarrytown House was the complete package and exactly what we were hoping for when looking at different venues for our wedding weekend! The property was perfect, with all of our guests being able to stay at the hotel for a reasonable rate, not to mention the ceremony site in the garden was beautiful during August. We were able to utilize the entire Biddle Mansion from Rehearsal to getting ready, Cocktail and Reception. Special shout out to Lauren who manages all weddings onsite - she was not only extremely personable but ensured everything ran smoothly throughout the day! -

We had our wedding in the Winter Palace in September 2018. It was the most perfect day and everything went off without a hitch. Tracy was our catering manager and she did a fantastic job. She went above and beyond to accommodate the two of us and all of our guests. A huge thank you to her for managing the whole day so well. Both of our bridal attendants did an equally great job helping us with little things throughout the day. I was so grateful to have them around. The entire staff did a great job and we are so grateful. The venue was so beautiful and I have gorgeous photos as a result. We had cocktail hour on the back patio of the Biddle Mansion, and got to see a beautiful sunset. Our guests raved about the beautiful venue that we chose, and the delicious food that was served. We are so glad that we chose the Tarrytown House Estate for our wedding venue. We highly recommend them to others. -

Fairytale Wedding
Our wedding at Tarrytown House Estate was nothing short of a fairytale. It is a BEAUTIFUL venue both inside and out and I honestly couldn't have been happier with our choice.
Pros
- Gorgeous location and buildings - like a castle!
- The food was unbelievable. Beyond expectations. I feel like wedding food is usually "eh" but every single person raved about it!
- Guests can stay at the hotel on-property, which was so convenient (and its a BIG hotel, so everyone can stay there, plus rooms are very reasonably priced). The rooms are very nice, beds are very comfy. There's also an on-site restaurant and bar that we frequented every evening that was very fun and super convenient. Staying at the hotel also offered great amenities like a pool, gym, outdoor lounge areas, and all of the guests could eat breakfast together (SUCH GOOD BREAKFAST)
- While during the booking process they seemed a bit inflexible about some things, in the end we were able to do everything we wanted (bringing in food/champagne for getting ready, sparklers, etc.)
- Everything is pretty much included in the venue (food, booze, day of coordinator, tables/linens, etc.) which made life so much easier not having to deal with a million vendors
- The staff are all SO nice and helpful. During the weekend and wedding they always remembered my order, made sure my drink was filled...it was so nice not having to rush about.
- Dog friendly!
Cons
- I really don't have many cons and wouldn't change anything, but if I had to say anything the coordination/communication was sometimes a bit challenging. The event planning staff is small and very busy, and while they were incredibly lovely, helpful and experienced it could be difficult to get in touch. I'm incredibly organized and planned everything myself so this wasn't a huge deal, but if someone was going to rely on the venue to handle a lot of details I could imagine it being a little frustrating
Overall I would definitely recommend! -

We got married June 2014 and Tarrytown was absolutely beautiful this time of the year.
Our guests are still talking about how great our wedding was. The food was absolutely amazing. The best I ever had at a wedding! The venue is beautiful. We had a few issues with service. The cocktail hr menu was not what we ordered. It was still good but not what we ordered. Our favors were forgotten and not given to our guests. Tarrytown needs to improve its customer service and how it handles their mistakes.

It's almost a year since our wedding at the Tarrytown House and we still have family and friends raving about the venue. The location is obviously beautiful and historic, and, for us, it had the added perk of being conveniently located for both of our families.
Here are some main takeaways, in hopes they can help you with your selection:
Outstanding:
- Staff that helped plan our wedding (notably Antonio and Liz). They were accessible via email ahead of time and very accommodating the weekend of.
- Options; the folks at the Tarrytown House are pros at making sure your wedding is suited for you (For example, I was worried about getting married outside because of temperamental weather in August and there was always an indoor option. Also, the flow of our wedding from area-to-area worked out exactly as we hoped for.)
- Food (I eat salmon now because of the salmon served at my wedding).
Constructive Criticism:
- I found the event department easier to work with than the accommodations department for our room block.
- There was one policy that changed after our contract was signed and I was disappointed the old policy wasn't grandfathered in. (To be fair, staff worked with us for another after-hours option).
- Because the location is historic, there are more stringent rules about vendors, outside food etc.
Overall, I would recommend the Tarrytown House and am very happy we decided to get married there. -

I wish I could write 2 separate reviews - one for the wedding venue itself, and one for the hotel part - because my experiences could not have been more different. I knew this would be my venue from the moment I stepped on the property - it is an absolutely breathtaking estate and exceeded my vision. We hit a few bumps about a month out from the wedding when my "day-of-coordinator" Elizabeth (who had been doing a great job!) unexpectedly gave me a week's notice that she was resigning, so I had to rush to finish my table assignments to ensure she would be able to look everything over. I was given a new coordinator, Kevin, who ended up leaving a pretty sour taste in our mouths. Then, when we arrived at check-in almost EVERYONE in my entire wedding had issues with their check-in process, which the front registration manager Joseph H did nothing to resolve. My rehearsal dinner, which was on site, was set to start at 5 pm and yet my MOH, who had arrived at 2, was not given a room until 4:40 and was unable to freshen up before the rehearsal. She was also given a room with a warped bed, complained, and no one ever even visited her room to resolve it. On the morning of the wedding, Kevin walked into the bridal suite at 11 am unprovoked and warned my mother and mother-in-law "not to pick any fights so early in the morning". Nonetheless, my wedding itself went off without a hitch and it was a beautiful, perfect day. The food was phenomenal and my guests had rave reviews. I would highly recommend the wedding venue itself, but would advise against using their hotel blocks to avoid you and your guests some stress. -

Beautiful venue
The grounds and venue space at Tarrytown House Estate are amazing. We loved it as soon as we saw it and booked very quickly afterwards. The wedding weekend turned out amazing and we had the best time. However, the planning process was extremely stressful. We know that businesses have been dealing with a lot with covid, but the lack of communication was horrible. Emails and phone calls would go unanswered for weeks. We would have to follow up multiple times and even still wouldn’t receive what we were asking for. We switched people that were working on our wedding account 3 times, but are very happy that in the end we worked with Lauren. She was by far the best communicator of everyone that we worked with. She made sure the whole wedding weekend went smoothly and paid attention to all the details we had asked for. Jose, who was in charge of setting up and overseeing the wedding was also great. Overall, we had an amazing wedding and our guests had a great time, but the communication issues really caused us unnecessary stress throughout the process. -

All in all the TTHE is a wonderful place to get married. Very easy to get to from NYC and has the convenience of a big hotel with beautiful grounds and ballroom (The Winter Palace) of an estate. What really sold us on the venue was the food - both in terms of quantity (especially for the cocktail hours which I find so important not to leave people hungry for!) and quality it was fantastic.
The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is the coordination staff while very pleasant seemed to be a bit overwhelmed and disorganized - I felt like I had to be much more proactive with planning and organizing because of it. They also have multiple events on the property at once which I did not mind but because of the disorganization and lack of communication between the event coordinators there were competing events on the grounds during my pictures and we had to switch plans because of it - something I was guaranteed would not happen when I signed our contract.
The rest of the staff (particularly the bridal attendant!) was wonderful, professional and very much on top of their game. -

Months after, I am finally writing my review and I really do wish I had more positive to say. We were beyond excited to have our wedding here as this venue is truly unique and gorgeous. We were even able to move past the stressful negotiations and contracts at the beginning. We had an issue at one point with the reservations dept, but they did fix it and Alex was so helpful in the process. Leading up to the wedding, we knew there was a chance of rain on the day and we were pretty nervous about this as our plan was to be married on the terrace of the biddle mansion. The day came and of course it did wind up raining, but early enough where it did clear up in time for our ceremony. However, this is where is just all went wrong. The way Tarrytown House handled this was so disappointing and truly ruined our day. I wish I could give them an excellent rating, but they did not prove their professionalism, responsiveness or flexibility in this event. Other reviewers had met the manager Joe. Unfortunately we did not. We found out after speaking to him that he was there that day however, he never did come welcome us or intervene during our ceremony setup. Our banquet manager caused so much stress between my husband and I that it left us not even wanting to go to our own reception. When rain was in the forecast, she kept coming to us repeatedly asking if we wanted our ceremony outside(even interrupted our first look), but failed to acknowledge our request of keeping it outside. Everything was set up inside and when we asked to move it, we were told there was not enough time and our wedding party would have to help. A wedding venue with a full staff is incapable of moving 90 chairs in a matter of an hour? Joe admitted this was a mistake on their part and offered us a partial refund but it was not enough considering it ruined our wedding day. I caution other brides to be VERY upfront and forceful with what they want. No one should have felt the way we did on our wedding day. -

Do not recommend
I was at a wedding last weekend at Tarrytown .. I’m assuming there are new management there in the last year , as it was not a good experience .. Valet parking at 6pm was great and coat check was great . Alas down hill after that .. The cocktail area had empty salad and cheese dishes .. The meatballs were cold and the pasta just stuck together .. chicken pieces just there sitting on a dish .. no presentation what so ever ..
Entree, we could not eat the steak .. Salmon was good . No cream on table for coffee I had to go to the serving table to get some .. then my drink was taken off the table while I was out dancing ? Ok you want to go home but the wedding wasn’t over .. We were asked to go to lower level for sandwiches and food from 12am -2am. We got down and it was an extra large hero (game night hero) nothing properly presented .. plenty of cookies, peanuts, chips and brownies.. I long hero for 180 to share 😳 so bad . No supervision and the kitchen was closed so no more sandwiches .. Terrible, terrible ..
I then needed my coat and car .. I had valet parking so I had no idea where my car was .. it was raining heavy and I had to go up to the hotel parking to look for my car as the Valet guys were gone home .. I didn’t even know where the car was ..just wild ..
I got my coat eventually after asking a server to tell me where the cloakroom was as we were the other side off the venue ..
would not recommend and I’m happy to say the family were refunded money due the the terrible service .. TT H & E not for me 😐

Do Not Book Your Wedding Block
The Good
The grounds at Tarrytown House Estate are absolutely stunning, and our wedding photos turned out amazing.
The Bad
Unfortunately, the customer service, contract execution, and financial disorganization were a complete nightmare. If we had known the volume of headaches this hotel block would cause us and our guests, we would have booked elsewhere.
Detailed Issues
Hidden Fees & Price per Room: They pushed a strict 80% attrition rate with no discount and after asking about it, were given a discount of only $10/room. Later, we were quoted $1,000 for a getting ready room but later received an invoice for $1,700. This included hidden administrative fees, mandatory gratuity, and a ridiculous $300 charge for bagels for just 8 people. Management justified this by saying they emailed us a price of "$1,000+" after we spoke.
Booking Chaos: The hotel's internal communication was terrible. Guests were told our room block was completely full, yet a week later, we received an email from management claiming we hadn't met our attrition rate. Staff also gave guests conflicting information about the availability of adjoining rooms.
Morning After Breakfast: We wanted to book a wedding breakfast the morning after for 60 guests. Not only was there no group discount on the $30+/person rate with a contract guaranteeing a minimum number of guests, but they included additional per-person admin fees, making it more expensive than if our guests had just walked in and ordered individually. Needless to say, we had our breakfasts somewhere else.
Discount Issues: Weeks before the wedding, guests noticed it was cheaper to book directly through the hotel website than use our "discounted" block. Management lowered our rate by $20 after we caught the issue. Shortly after, another guest found a public rate over $100 cheaper per night resulting in a further price reduction to our block, which we should have never had to ask for.
Despite adjusting the rates prior to arrival, the hotel still overcharged our guests at checkout. The front desk promised to correct the bills and refund departed guests, but the very next guest to check out was immediately overcharged again. We still have no confidence our guests were billed correctly.
Lastly, a groomsman who wasn't even staying at the hotel purchased a single beverage at the front desk and was charged $420 on his credit card the next day.
Final Thoughts
Save yourself the stress. While the property is beautiful, the administrative incompetence and predatory pricing practices are not worth the anxiety on your wedding weekend. Book your block somewhere else. -
