Best makeup artist in stl

It was such a pleasure to have Tara as my makeup artist throughout my wedding season! As soon as I got engaged I booked her because she is simply the best makeup artist in St. Louis. From the engagement photos, bridal shower, and especially on the big day; every look was stunning and most importantly I still looked like myself-just more glamorous which was my desire. Tara made sure to ask all the right questions and made sure she delivered exactly what I wanted. She exceeded my expectations! I’d highly recommend her services as she was on time for every single appointment. I had a large wedding party (9 faces total) and every single person loved their face! We received so many compliments. Her prices are fair and the quality is impeccable. I’m beyond happy with how everything turned out. Thank you again for making me feel and look like the most beautiful bride!!!

Tara did such an amazing job on my makeup for my engagement photos. Not only did I look amazing, I felt amazing. I received so many compliments. Her hands are truly gifted. Best MUA hands down. I can't wait to work with her again not only for my wedding but I will definitely be booking her again for other engagements as well.

I thoroughly and sincerely enjoyed having my makeup done by Tara Lowery for my wedding. She is the epitome of a professional - on time, pleasant, and accommodating. Tara Lowery arrived at my church early, set up her table and professional wares and used her phone to play gospel music as she worked. This immediately set the atmosphere for my wedding party as we dressed - it was calm, God-centered, and comfortable. These are the little touches that matter but are hard to verbalize or place a price tag on.
I am 100% satisfied with my wedding makeup! Indeed, Tara Lowery performed wonders and transformed me into a stunning bride. I do not wear make up often - and have only had my make up done professionally once before. I was utterly blown away by her talents! My makeup was flawless. Tara Lowery also did my mother and mother-in-laws makeup as well. Needless to say, it was beautiful.
The experience, professionalism, and artistry of Tara Lowery is top notch. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to feel special on his/her big day.

I was extremely pleased with Tara's services. Everyone was taken on how stunning I looked and my husband kept reminding me of how beautiful I was. Our pictures were absolutely amazing and I'm sure I will be pleased 40 years from now when I look at our photos. I was gorgeous. Tara is a Transformer!!!!It's worth two consultations so don't wait until your wedding day. She was extremely patient and flexible as well. Two words...book her!!!!

Omg ,where do I start. Tara was amazing. Everyone loved my makeup and so did I. My husband cried, and I think she played a huge role in that. My mother still talks about how gorgeous she looked lol. I will be using her again in the future.

Tara Lowery did my Make up for my wedding day and she made look flawless. She arrived early to my venue and was fully prepared. She was very professional, and so kind. Her make up felt very light, and for the final look....I was so amazed how beautiful and stunning I looked! I would definitely book her again. She is truly amazing at what she do.

Couldn't go wrong.... Was in complete "aww" after seeing the results. Truly skillful and talented. I naturally do not have any eyebrows-- Tara created natural looking brows and you wouldn't even know any different.

Nothing but amazing things...makeup was not "caked" on but an enhancement!!

Loved every minute of it!! THE BEST ARTIST ? hands down!!

I've had the pleasure of receiving Tara's services twice, the first was for a wedding I was a bridesmaid in & the second was for my wedding. The moment I seen her work I knew I wanted to book her for my special day.

Not only is Tara's work amazing but she's also great to work with ;-). Whether it's responding to emails in a timely manner or making special accomodations, she knows how to make her clients feel at ease.

What I love most about her work is how natural the makeup application looks. She really knows how to bring out each person's features without over doing it. And best of all the makeup with stands tears!!! I cried my eyes out during my friends wedding plus my own wedding & my makeup didnt run at all! Infact by the end of the night my makeup still looked flawless, I didnt even want to wash my face lol.

Tara is one of the best in the area so if you have the chance, book her! It'll probably be one of the best decisions you make when it comes to wedding planning.

Tara, did an amazing job! Even though my wedding day was very hectic she still managed to stay on time with the makeup appointments. She even started on face before the scheduled time. I was very satisfied with her work. She made me look and feel beautiful on my special day. My makeup lasted all night long. Everyone kept telling me how beautiful I looked. I would recommend Tara to any bride or anyone else wanting there makeup done for a special event. She was punctual, professional and caring. I say caring because my mom was in a lot of pain while getting her makeup done and Tara was very attentive during that time. I loved Tara’s work! She’s great and I would use her services again!

Tara Lowrey is an awesome artist!!!! She made my day so beautiful and special!!! Tara did an absolute awesome job, I had no complaints about her work what so ever! She did an amazing job on myself and my entire bridal party everyone loved our make up and so did we. I recently had my marriage vow renewal ceremony on 7/26. My husband and I originally went to the courthouse, so this ceremony was the full blown wedding of my dreams. All I kept hearing was how flawless my makeup was and how beautiful I was. I initially had a trial session with Tara and I liked the makeup. But the day of my wedding I LOVED IT! It was better than the makeup trial. I looked amazing! The best part about the makeup is that it lasted ALL NIGHT! My wedding was at 6p, she finished with my makeup at 4p. We left the wedding at midnight. My makeup was still on. Also it was a really hot and humid day, my wedding was indoors with A/C but it was still rather warm in the space. Throughout me hugging and dancing and breaking a sweat, the makeup remained. Also one of my bridesmaids makeup appointment was at 11a, hers stayed on all day and night also!! Tara was so sweet and such a professional. I would recommend her for any bride wanting fabulous and long lasting makeup!

Tara is awesome from A to Z. Her service was very prompt, courteous and all around good. All of my girls looked stunning and it was the best make over look a girl could want. Flawless is the word to use. My makeup was jaw dropping. I was completely satisfied with all of our services and will definitely refer and use Tara again in the near future. Location: She has a cute little studio she recently opened that is conveniently located in the city.

Service: She is professional, personable, and most importantly (to me at least) punctual. She was very friendly as well as accommodating.

Cosmetics: The makeup application was flawless! She did an incredible job and is one of few that does African American makeup. I am along with many others that I know of are slightly apprehensive about who does my hair and makeup for this reason so she was a great find! The makeup lasted throughout the evening/night for several hours without needing to be touched up and was always camera ready.

Great service, great product, great artist!! I would definitely recommend her to any and everyone I know!

Omg!! Tara is absolutely fabulous. She worked her magic on three of my bridesmaids as well as myself. After she had finished our makeup we were totally gorgeous. Tara is wonderful! From the trial run I knew that I would LOVE my wedding day look! Her makeup application technique is FLAWLESS and after a hectic rehearsal the day before, limited sleep the night before (I was too excited for my wedding), she created a fresh face that stayed flawless all night! My makeup application was at 930am, my wedding started at 1pm, pictures at Forest Park at 4pm, Dinner reception at 6pm, and after a fun-filled night of dancing, I received SO many compliments at the reception, which lasted until 10pm that my makeup still looked beautiful. THANK YOU so much Tara, I recommend her to EVERYONE and look forward to booking makeup application services again! (definitely anniversary and whenever the newborn photos happen ;)

I dreamed of the day I would get married & how it would turn out but most importantly how I would look. I knew I wanted to go with the whole fairytale theme when it came to my dress, the decor, etc but I didn't know how I could become a princess. I never really was into make-up and quite honestly I was hesitant to hire a make-up artist but I wanted to go all out for such an important day. I am so glad I did because I couldn't believe how beautiful I was nor could I believe it was even me. The facial expressions on everyone's face when I came down that aisle let me know that I had achieved the look I wanted. I received tons of compliments saying I was flawless; it was very natural & not over the top. I was referred to Tara through a friend and I honestly feel blessed. This woman is AMAZING! I have used her for several formal events and most recently an anniversary. I am not exaggerating - when I walked into the event all heads turned! My husband's mouth dropped and I felt like a bombshell! You KNOW you look good when your husband compliments you on your makeup! Guys typically don't notice that stuff. I also think it's cute when we have an event to go to my husband actually suggests that "maybe you can have that nice girl do your makeup again". She's THAT awesome. I also have her booked for my vow renewal ceremony and I absolutely cannot wait. Tara is always a pleasure to deal with. Tara is hands down the best Makeup Artist in the Midwest! Everything about my look was perfect! She made me feel like the most beautiful girl in the world! A few of the ladies in my wedding party had never gotten their makeup done professionally and they were so happy with the results. She has a way of bringing out a woman's natural beauty without caking the makeup on or making it look heavy. Everyone looked so young and fresh:-)

I decided to go with Tara Lowery for my makeup need on my special day. I do not reside in STL so all communication was completed via email. She responded to all my questions and helped me decide a look! Ms. Tara exemplifies true passion for the art of enhancing beauty. She was professional, on-time and down to earth. Not once did I question her expertise (as this was only my second time wearing makeup). I was greatly surprised by the end result. I loved everything about her and the end result. Tara agreed to do my wedding makeup on a short notice. There was inital miscommunication, but we eventually got on the same page and I was able to schedule the service with no problem. She did a great job applying my makeup. The only complaint that I have is the fact that I had a hard time seeing clear out of my left eye after she applied the lashes. I eventually took out my contact and realized there was mascara or lash glue on the surface of my contact lense. It wasn't necessarily her fault, but it was uncomfortable for me. It took me half of my wedding day to figure out what was causing the vision blurr. Overall, she did a great job and I plan to refer her and use her again for future events. My 30th birthday is approaching, so I will call her for that. Everyone absolutely LOVED my makeup at my wedding! Thanks!!!

This was my first time getting my makeup professionally done and I was a little nervous. Tara was absolutely amazing!! I booked her for my September wedding and could not have been any happier with my choice. Not only was she professional but she really catered to the needs of each individual in the wedding party. Responsiveness: She is very fast on the replies email and TEXT!
Professionalism: SUPER showed up on time without needing my assistance on how to get there ON TIME and Ready for the task with all of her equipment chair lighting etc.

Flexibility: If I could give her a 10 I would... I was running later for my touch up session and she was even willing to show up to a different lout cation even after she met me at the church she came to the reception an hour and a half later to touch me up even though I still looked amazing but I cried a little so my eyes needed a bit of help.

Out of ALL of My vendors( I had some very reputable professionals well known in the St. Louis area) she was the only one to provide the exact product I was looking for no surprises or regrets at all.

Hello all upcoming brides and anyone simply looking for makeup services. Mrs. Tara Lowery is the best and her pricing is very affordable. She did my makeup for my wedding on July 27, 2012 on a last minute notice due to my makeup artist canceling out just hours before my wedding was to start. My wedding coordinators contacted Mrs. Tara and within 30 minutes she was at the church with all her accessories ready to make me over for my big day. She was very professional and made me feel very welcomed and relaxed while she was applying my makeup. Under the time constraints that she had she was able to work extremely well with the other vendors and assist with keeping my wedding on time by having me ready at the designated time. I had so many compliments on my makeup its impossible to list them all, but I will say personally I thought it was amazing; I looked like a doll out a magazine. I would have to recommend this vendor hands down. I am not a woman that wears makeup on a regular basis. I usually can get by with lip-gloss and a little eye shadow. So when I met Tara I was not completely convinced that hiring a make-up artist was an important expense. I am a natural girl and I did not want to look overdone or look like someone else on my wedding day. Tara stands out from the crowd. Not only was she flexible with her time she was very friendly and informative about the products she was using. I remember when I looked in the mirror after she completed my full face of makeup, I was astonished. I have always thought I was a pretty girl but she really enhanced my beauty. Weddings generally require a dramatic look, a day you never forget. The make-up for my daughter's wedding was great. Most of the young ladies in her bridal party wear very little make-up and had concerns about overkill. However, the make-up was so natural and defined, that everyone loved it.

The bride looked fabulous. She glowed and glimmered as she walk down the aisle. She was especially satisfied with her soft delicate look.

As the mother of the bride, I have never had such a look as I got that day. I was a little unsure at first, but grew to like it more as the day progressed.

In the area of professionalism, the only reason I scored her 4 out of 5, was that there were a few difficulties in signing up with her online service, but was corrected after it was brought to her attention.

Quality look that lasts without the caked makeup!

The quality of our makeup was great! Everyone loved their looks. My mom, however, missed her appointment time at no fault to Tara. This particular day was very busy for them and they could not stay past the allotted time we had scheduled. Be sure to be mindful of this when scheduling large parties!

Loved Blush Initially - Customer Service Review

I’m not sure why it was necessary for you to say you missed out because of me.

I loved working with this vendor until I encountered some changes and needed flexibility. I initially planned on going to their salon for bridal make up the day of my wedding. Then my hair vendor changed a few months out so I asked if they could come to my site. I found out they refuse makeup at my site because the lighting is bad and that they were no longer offering that option.

Understandable. Due to my vendor change for hair services I could not make it to their salon for my original wedding day appointment. I paid for a trial and the day of make up in full. The contract states no refunds so I asked if they could do my bridal makeup for one of my pre-wedding events instead. They were unable to accommodate that, understandable, and I received the message below.

“Unfortunately, the services are for the original date booked only. We’ve actually lost out on working with other big bridal parties because we were blocked for your date.”

I understand the policy is that services are for the original date booked but I’m not sure why it was necessary for you to say you missed out because of me. I’m sorry for making you lose out by booking. I have lost out as well being I paid for services I did not receive in full.

I would recommend giving brides a minimum book amount if you are looking for a way to secure certain profits. I was just trying to book a makeup artist for my wedding day. I never intended to make you miss out on big wedding parties. I hope all works out well for you in the future.

Stressful, frustrating, miserable

My amazing hairstylist referred me to Tara Lowery over a year ago so I acquired her as my makeup artist last spring of 2019 and paid 1/2 as required by the contract. I had some questions which I emailed and initially she responded back. When I tried to inquire a little later about the free trial bridal makeover and a few other questions by email, I didn’t get a response so I called the shop and left a message. It took months to get in touch with Tara. I was told there were two different emails in the system. Towards the end of 2019 she responded back to one of my many emails and calls with a phone call. I went online and made an appointment for a makeover but didn’t see where to sign up for the free bridal makeover so I paid $100.00 for that particular makeover in February 2020. The makeover was fabulous and I was extremely satisfied with it. I asked about the bridal makeover trial and she said it was free and to just call and reschedule it with her between February and May. The pandemic hit and businesses closed so it is what it is. However, when businesses began to reopen, most vendors began to make some exceptions due to the virus. I emailed to inquire about my wedding day makeover and free bridal trial via email and phone call. No response back towards the free trial and it took awhile to receive one regarding my wedding day. I paid the second 1/2 of my payment on time and still I felt stressed and frustrated as the client because it was like a game as far as communication and receiving a response. Tara finally did respond and we set a time to meet for my wedding day. She asked what I would do to make her and the other makeup artists feel safe during the pandemic. We met at a church for the makeover so I expressed I would spray Lysol as long as they wore a mask, gloves, etc and I would have to keep my mouth shut. It was awkward because usually it would be the opposite in regards to how do you make the client feel safe. I packed up the Lysol and then the night before my wedding I received an email around 8:30 pm from Tara saying that she couldn’t render her services due to health reasons but would send someone fully qualified and amazing and Kim was definitely amazing, kind, professional, excellent and fabulous all in one. We were extremely happy with her services. I know Blush is amazing but the lack of communication with the client was horrible. I paid close to $600 overall to be treated like that. That’s why I’m giving the rating of a 1.
