Hiring Tara was one of the best decisions we made!
She was SO much more than a photographer. She helped us create our timeline, kept the day flowing smoothly, and gave us incredible recommendations for our officiant, florals, and hair/makeup. Having someone that experienced and thoughtful in our corner made such a huge difference and took a lot of stress off of us.
And then the PHOTOS. We were completely speechless when we got our gallery back. She captured the day so naturally and perfectly. We’ve already looked through the gallery so many times and still can’t get over how beautiful everything turned out.
She is unbelievably talented and genuinely wonderful to work with. She was such a calming and fun presence, which made being in front of the camera feel super comfortable. We will treasure these photos forever! -

I have been skeptical of some wedding photos as they often can feel forced or fake. However, Tara captured the joyful essence of our relationship. Though she has an incredible knowledge of the lighting and the scenery to get a wonderful backdrop, her ability to document our love and happiness on our big day is second to none. The photos during the ceremony showed us scenes that we love replaying as well as ones that we completely missed but are so happy she recorded. As for the family photos, it was so well organized that everyone could get to the cocktail hour in a timely manner. The sunset photos are breathtaking and we adore the photos captured during the speeches and first dances. We highly recommend Tara Lee. -

Wow, Tara is a pro. My husband and I had our destination wedding in Maui and were so glad we chose Tara! She has such a keen eye for lighting and composition and really captured the best of everyone. I have never loved having pictures taken of me but I absolutely adore our photos! She really knew what to do to make everyone look and feel their best. All our wedding party and families have been loving looking through the gallery and we can't wait to order prints! She was so easy to work with and communicated super well. 11/10, would recommend to anyone! -

Tara was absolutely wonderful! We travelled all the way from Norway for our small, intimate elopement ceremony in Maui, and she made us feel comfortable from the very first meeting. Tara helped us with everything — from planning the ceremony and recommending the best locations to suggesting the perfect time for photos.
Throughout the shoot, she created such a calm and relaxed atmosphere that we could truly enjoy the moment. The entire experience was incredibly positive, and we’re absolutely thrilled with how the pictures turned out. We could not imagine having another photographer for our special moment.

5 stars for Tara Lee Photography - scratch that, 50 stars! Hiring Tara was one of the BEST DECISIONS of our elopement in Kapalua, Maui in September. From the first call she was organized, professional and proactive in helping us plan the timeline, decide on locations, suggesting ideas, and helping shape the energy of our entire trip. She listened to our vision and built a plan that felt 100% us!
What we loved most was that the photoshoot felt like an extension of our ceremony! It was so much more than we expected and so meaningful and magical. During the shoot it genuinely felt like JUST US. Long, quiet eye contact. Melting into each other in embraces. Sweet kisses that sealed and resealed our commitment. And then bursts upon bursts of laughter doing playful poses like piggybacks, jumps, spins, and dips. We literally had SO MUCH FUN!
When we opened the gallery yesterday, we were floored! Editorial and glamorous, yet undeniably real - undeniably US. We teared up, laughed and relived the memories as we oohed and awed over every frame. We can’t wait to share with our family and friends!!
Tara was wonderfully directive in the best way during the shoot. No awkward guessing. She guided hand placement, posture, angles, and tiny micro-adjustments with a constant flow of creative ideas. But it didn’t feel overwhelming or inauthentic in any way. I was worried a photoshoot might feel stiff and awkward but that was the FURTHEST from the truth! We were present, relaxed, and had SO MUCH FUN. She kept the timeline smooth and anticipated what we needed before we asked.
Turnaround was SO FAST! We received a set of stunning photos in a sneak peek within 24 hours and our full gallery EXACTLY 4 weeks after the wedding. She even coached us on how to experience the gallery together so we could savor it. Communication was clear, delivery was seamless, and every detail felt intentional.
As far as what we plan to do with them, we’re planning on a big album for our coffee table, gifts for family, and a few framed prints for our home, so we can remember the magic of our elopement every day.

We originally planned our trip as a babymoon and decided the week before to elope -a very spontaneous decision made possible in part due to Tara L and Tara T! Because we were booking everything last minute we didn't have high expectations on even getting a photographer booked but luckily for us, Tara was SO easy to work with and was so accommodating in helping us get everything planned, including working with Tara T who was our photographer the day of. She was absolutely incredible, such a joy to be with on our special day, and, as two people who are typically uncomfortable in front of a camera, thankfully helped direct us to some beautiful photos. We couldn't imagine a better experience and are so extremely grateful to both Taras to have these pictures to remind us of one of the best days of our lives -

Mahalo Tara!
High quality, exquisite photos! My husband and I were Lahaina residents and planned to marry in October 2023. We wanted to hire vendors with strong roots on Maui and Tara was born and raised here. She also loves pups which was essential because our dogs were part of our wedding.
We hired Tara for our engagement photo shoot and wedding and all the photos were exquisite. Our personal preference is for rich quality photos that reflect how things actually looked, as opposed to filters and lighting changes to manufacture a certain aesthetic. Tara delivered every time! We could not be happier with her product.
We also want to share that not only is Tara a great photographer, but she is also a truly incredible community member. Tara was one of many community members who immediately jumped to help Lahaina fire survivors delivering food and other essentials to the burn zone. She was also great about getting information to survivors to find various resources after the fire. After we lost our home and town in the August 2023 Lahaina fire, we had to plan our wedding ... again. We knew Tara was a "non-negotiable" and any future wedding date had to work with her.
We were so happy we had her to capture our special day. She was great with our dogs and captured exactly what we wanted. You cannot go wrong with Tara!

Working with Tara was one of the best decisions and investments I made for my Maui family elopement in December 2024.
Not only did the pictures candidly capture my husband and I, and our families in a natural, interactive way, but Tara was immensely helpful throughout my planning process. I had done minimal planning two months prior to the wedding date, and Tara was so helpful in suggesting the items that needed to be taken care of, securing the requisite permits, suggesting vendors, etc. In particular, Tara was very willing to be our "boots on the ground" -- prior to the wedding day, she went to the beach area where we wanted to get married to first scope out the physical layout and parking situation. I booked the two hour elopement session and she was willing to take us to a second location for more pictures (we didn't end up doing it, but she could easily have squashed that idea out of convenience).
Tara is dedicated to her craft, flexible in her role as partial planner/photographer, and perhaps most importantly, super kind. From initial outreach to final product, she was a bona fide professional. She even ended up sending my pictures back 3 weeks after the wedding! Certainly no guarantees her turnaround will always be so fast, but we do really appreciate it. -

Tara photographed our elopement last month and we are OBSESSED with our pictures. Tara made the process of planning an elopement easy by giving recommendations and frequently checking in with us. We had never been to Maui before so it was hard to know where exactly we wanted to get married at on the island. I described to Tara what kind of vibe we were looking for and she picked the PERFECT location for us. I cannot wait to print out our elopement pictures to display in our home. Maui's best photographer
Tara captured our wedding day perfectly. Only with a brief conversation and survey, she was able to capture our vibe perfectly. She got every shot we wanted and even more than what we dreamed of. She maximized every minute with us and our guests. Her team as so efficient and gracious and patient with everyone. We had hired a photographer for engagement pictures on Maui a year before and did not have the same experience unfortunately. We would hire Tara over and over again.
Also, a very important thing after going to several weddings and having our own this year: sometimes, photographers dominate the scenery, getting in the way of the experience and ruining it for guests. This was not the case with Tara and team. They blended in seamlessly. -

We chose Tara to work with for our wedding and it was the best experience that we could have asked for. Initially it was a struggle trying to find a photographer who would respond in a timely manner and in such short notice as we were planning our wedding in 2.5 months. Tara responded very quickly and immediately set up a phone call with us to go over any and all details prior to actually booking her. She was kind and very informative. She answered all of my questions, so we booked her right away. We currently live on Oahu and she was willing to meet with my mom at our wedding location on Maui to scope out the venue and get ideas for our wedding day. We had a few more calls and even a in person meeting prior to wedding day with her to go over any other details and her wedding questionnaire was perfect to touch all of the bases which helped to get us really thinking of everything we wanted. Wedding day came and she was on time, delightful to work with, and helped with prompts and poses. She got all the shots that I could have dreamed of and even double checked with us to see if there was anything we had in mind. She even made sure to take into account our most precious guests, my grandmother and kids and got the best shots of them that I’ll be able to cherish forever. We just got our album and I am completely obsessed and we are swooning over them. Trust me, book Tara for your next event because these are photos caught in such an amazing way and highlights all of the emotions we felt throughout the day. -

Everytime I looked at my wedding pictures I felt so lucky that I have Tara at my wedding day. She's super sweet and extremely nice to work with and the quality of the picture is another level. I like cameras and taking pictures, which makes me appreciate Tara's skills even more. She caught counteless beautiful moment in the most magical day of my life. A month before the wedding she sent over a questionaire to get to know more about the details of the wedding. Me and my husband had a meeting the day before the wedding to run through the details, questions and some wedding photos I liked and shared with her. One of the photos I sent was a champagne popping, Tara loved it and even prepared a set up for that shot at the wedding night! It was one of the most amazing shots I love from that night.
At the wedding day, there were things unexpected and we were falling behind projected timeline, but Tara and her second photographer Tara were super flexible and managed to work it out. They helped more than just the photos. I truly appreciate all the help and the beautiful work!! Thank you thank you thank you for recording the most perfect day for me!!! Tara Lee was a pleasure to work with! She's grounded, personable, organized, professional, and everything you'd want in a photographer!
She was great to communicate with and gave us great recommendations and guidance, so I felt confident in planning a destination elopement.
During the day of our elopement, she kept us on schedule because we had different places to be and we didn't feel rushed. Her eye for framing was amazing. She gave excellent directions for different poses and shots which were captured beautifully on video and in the photos. We've never had professional photos done before but she made us feel really comfortable and we had a lot of fun.
Our jaws dropped when she sent us the sneak peaks and of course, we were happy to relive that day over and over again when we saw the full collection. There were many nice pictures that I can't wait to print and frame! We're so happy we chose her to capture these unforgettable moments. If we could do it all over again with Tara Lee, we would. She's fantastic! -

Got married in May of 2024 and Tara and her team were amazing. She touched bases with me the day before the wedding to go over all the details and was very knowledgeable and attentive to all of our wedding and family details. Fast forward to the wedding day and they were amazing in getting all of the photos we wanted and making sure everyone was where they needed to be. We just received our photos last week and they are absolutely beautiful. She got us the best sunset photos, even better than we could have asked for during our overcast wedding day. 10/10 would recommend using Tara Lee Photography! Our wedding day was documented from start to finish in the most PERFECT way. From capturing all the small details to capturing all the moments she executed it all so seamlessly. I told Tara on our phone call that I wanted everything documented, and she got ALL THE THINGS!! We had a mishap and my husband hurt his knee... about 30 minutes before the wedding ended we had to leave for the ER. Tara was respectful and compassionate, she asked if she was okay to document the family and friends surrounding him in a room. Tara lets us have fun, be goofy and just go along with all our shenanigans... I love that she just laughed with us and snapped away at the moments.
We received our photos within FOUR WEEKS, our contract stated it would be 6-8 weeks... so I was beyond over the moon to get them early. Major brownie points!! My husband and I sat and looked through all the photos on our TV together for the first time...it felt like if a stranger were to look through all the photos they could tell you the story of our night. It was just what I wanted from our photographer... to look back in 15/20/40 years and relive the amazing moments. We plan to have a coffee table book made, along with prints to hang in our home. BIG MAHALO to Tara!! -

Best Photographer and Elopment Planner EVER!
We are so happy that we worked with Tara as our photographer and elopement planner. My now wife and I eloped in Maui in September 2023, and from the very early planning stages Tara was a pleasure to work with. She made the entire process and experience stress free and took so much off our plate. She helped us pick a location and plan the specifics of the day, she connected us with other vendors, outlined the day, and she clearly communicated everything with us and our other vendors throughout. On top of that, she had numerous recommendations for things to do on Maui that contributed to the wonderful trip that we had. She was always available for questions or check-in calls, and her attention to detail gave us confidence at every turn. Keep in mind that the timing of our elopement was only about 6 weeks after the devastating and tragic fires in Maui, so having Tara guide us and give us advice was crucial for us.
We recently got our photos back and to say we’re happy with them would be a major understatement. Our pictures are amazing and instantly transported us back to Maui. Tara is seriously the best and I highly recommend that you work with her. Her photography is top notch, and she is very well organized when it comes to the elopement planning piece of things. I can’t recommend her enough, and I am so, so grateful that we had her to help plan and be our photographer! -

Tara is the BEST of the best! I am so glad my husband and I chose her to photograph our wedding elopement on Maui. She took two socially awkward people, and made us feel SUPER comfortable and relaxed while photographing our special day. She has so much knowledge and experience with photography, and was able to adapt every photo taken minute by minute to the ever changing scenery. We eloped in Maui, and hired Tara as our photographer. Tara was very easy to work with and the photographs she took were absolutely beautiful. Growing up on Maui, Tara really knows the local area. She was able to suggest a stunning second location that was nearby. She also made the planning process from New Jersey much smoother for us with a great list of vendor recommendations for hair/makeup and flowers. Sneak peeks were turned around quickly, and our full collection delivered ahead of schedule. 100% would recommend. -

Tara is the best ever!
My hubby and I cannot say enough about how amazing our photographer, Tara was on our wedding day! As a couple who never takes photos we knew we needed someone that could capture the candid moments without us having to do anything and give us instructions on how to pose without us feeling like it was too much or a tiring process. We had our wedding at Merriman's so Tara was able to capture our beautiful intimate ceremony/reception and sunset photos on the rocks where we got views of the mountains and the water. Extra bonus points for helping me walk and pose on the rocks and making me feel comfortable the entire time!! We also loved that all of our vendors had worked together many times before--it was very clear that our photographer and videographer were in sync. To top everything off Tara got our photos back SO quickly--we were shocked! It was so much fun a couple of weeks later sitting on our couch going through all our photos and being able to truly relive the moment. Thank you Tara for absolutely everything!! We look forward to seeing you again soon when we're back for vow renewals!! -

Amazing!!!
My wife and I were married in March and we are so glad that we choose Tara Lee for our photography! After speaking with multiple photographers we just thought that Tara went above and beyond responding to all our questions and by the time we had decided to use her we felt very comfortable that she was the right person for us. I especially liked how hands on she was during all of our shoots, she was so organized and we had multiple calls prior to our wedding ironing out all of the small details that she would need for our wedding as well as educating us on what to expect. The perfect wedding photographer ❤️
We were so happy with Tara as our wedding photographer! We had an overseas wedding in Maui so we really put a lot of trust in our vendors to make the day perfect and it’s safe to say Tara and her team did just that!
We had photo shots, locations and angles we wanted throughout the day and Tara made it all happen seamlessly through preplanning and of course thinking on the fly on the day.
She made us and our guests feel comfortable during our shoots and keep everything running on schedule and not missing a thing.
She was so kind and welcoming to work with, Tara always responded to any questions we had and provided suggestions to ensure we had the perfect day and photos and we did.
Our top take away from our wedding photos besides the amazing photos of us - are the wonderful photos of we have our guests. Having an overseas wedding, it really was a holiday full of special memories for our guests so we wanted to ensure they had photos of themselves to remember the day. We briefed Tara and her team on capturing candid shots / couple photos during the cocktail hour and reception. These were so fun to look at as it showed us what an amazing time our guests were having and memories we can now share with them.
We had Tara for 7 hours from getting ready to the end and it was the perfect amount of time capturing all special moments.

We were so incredibly lucky to have Tara Lee photograph the best day of our lives and more. It’s the first time we worked with someone as skilled as her. She knew exactly how to tell us to pose to get the most amazing and natural looking shots. She works fast and effectively, always paying attention to the details and capturing the natural environment along with optimal lighting.
Tara is beyond professional. She is extremely organized and detailed, fantastic communicator via emails and text, gave us instructions leading up to our wedding to help us prepare for the shoot, was always available for any questions or concerns we had.
Tara even met us in person while we were on vacation in Hawaii prior to our wedding just to get to know each other a bit better.
When we received our photos we were stunned! They surpassed anything we ever could have imagined and looked like something out of a magazine! There are soooo many good photos it’s hard to choose which ones to print out!
Tara is extremely easy going (aloha vibes all the way!) and fun to work with. We highly recommend her for any wedding or adventure shoot or anything photo related.

Amazing and incredible!
Best experience and photos!! From the very beginning, 6 months out, I contacted Tara inquiring engagement photos. This was something I have never done and on top of that I was preparing to ask the most important question to my now fiancé. From the very start there was very VERY good communication on what I could expect and what I should do! It really makes the whole experience stress free for me! There was multiple times if I had any questions I could call Tara and speak on the phone! Weeks prior to the engagement I even received a very detailed email with times, pictures, and specific instructions on where to be!! There was a never a doubt or worry in my mind and I feel like that’s something hard to find in business’ in todays world!
The photos are absolutely amazing… I’m not a very photogenic person and my fiancé and I never really were the best at posing but when we did these photos it’s was the most fun and best experience we could ever ask for.. we were truly caught in the moment!
The photo quality is absolutely incredible! We sat down with family and took our first glances at them a day ago and let’s just say there was some emotions… the photos the photographer took truly capture the moment and we are so blessed to be able to revisit that for a life time!
Can not recommend Tara enough, INCREDIBLE work and all around experience! -

Haleakalā Engagement!
I can’t recommend Tara enough! My fiancé hired her and her team to photograph our surprise sunset engagement on top of Haleakalā and I had no idea that the photographer there was there for us! My fiancé and I aren’t naturally good at posing for pictures but Tara and her team helped us the entire time all while making us feel comfortable! She gave us sneak peeks 24 hours after the proposal and got the full album 2 weeks after! She did an amazing job editing them, I can’t stop looking at them!! I would HIGHLY recommend working with Tara. Her photos are truly a work of art. My husband and I could not be happier with our wedding photos. They are absolutely stunning, and the best photos we will ever have together! She truly is an artist, and I love her editing style. Her second shooter was also incredible! My husband and I aren't very comfortable on camera. Tara did a GREAT job posing us. She somehow made us look like models, and we received so many compliments on our wedding photos. Highly Recommend, Beautiful Photos and Style
Our photos were BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL and she captured all the little moments perfectly. Every time we look through our gallery it takes us back to our special day and all the emotions we felt come rushing back. We are NOT comfortable in front of the camera and Tara did an amazing job directing and posing us so that all our shots came out very natural. She was also wonderful and easy to work with and checked in multiple times leading up to our big day. We had a lot planned - getting ready pics, first look, tea ceremony, pre ceremony, post ceremony, sunset portraits etc and she managed to keep us all organized and get everything we wanted. I was a little worried that the lighting in our hotel room would not be ideal but all our photos turned out stunning and cohesive. My husband and I got married in Maui in February. Picking out a photographer was one of the most important things for me as a bride. While looking at all the options I couldn't help but to love Taras style and was happy to find out she was available for our date. I've never had any sort of professional photos done before and wasn't sure how the process will go, especially during a wedding. On top of that my husband does not like taking picture at all! I cannot recommend Tara Lee Photography enough! Planning a destination wedding from afar, and doing all the planning and decision making based on emails, and portfolio reviews can be nerve-wracking, but this was the absolute best decision for a wedding photographer! I knew immediately when I looked through Tara's portfolios that her style was the perfect match for our "vibe" for our dream wedding/photos and we were not disappointed one bit! All correspondence before the big day was professional and timely. The day of the wedding, Tara and her team immediately made us feel comfortable and relaxed and like we had known them forever, when we had really just met! We received a sneak peek the day after our wedding, and our full gallery within the promised timeframe. Once we received our photos, we have not stopped scrolling through them!! I cannot write a review that does Tara and her associates any justice. My husband and I live in California and had to make all of our decisions based on phone calls and reviewing portfolios. It was so nerve wracking to make a huge decision, like your WEDDING PHOTOS, without actually meeting the photographers. When we first saw Tara’s portfolio, we knew her style was just for us. After meeting her at our wedding we were thrilled with her as a person and a photographer. We aren’t the most comfortable behind a camera and her and her partner made us feel so great!
We just received our photos this week and we have been scrolling through them multiple times. I don’t think there is a bad photo in all 700 photos she gave us! The way they captured the day as a story and sent it to us so we could relive the day was brilliant! 100000% would recommend and would hire her again. Finding the right photographer for our big day was the most important part of planning for us. We had spent countless hours messaging back and forth with numerous businesses and finally felt most confident when we spoke with Tara and looked through her portfolio. From the moment we booked with her, she guided us through the rest of the steps and processes. She gave us suggestions on floral, hair, an officiant, locations, etc. The day of our wedding was flawless and went just as described as the timeline she put together for us prior to. As for the actual photos; they are perfect. She captured every single moment that she possibly could have and they turned out better than we could have imagined. Maui and especially Ironwoods Beach hold one of our best & meaningful memories in life and Tara helped us every step of the way and caught every single moment perfectly. -

Tara did a beautiful job with our wedding. She captured photos that surpassed my expectation. I couldn't believe the beauty when we received them. From start to finish she was so easy to work with. There was only 1 photo missing from my shoot and its a photo of me, my husband with my family, the bride. We got one including my grandparents with my parents and siblings so its not the end of the world by any means. I also have some with my parents and some with my siblings separate. There just isn't one of us and my parents and siblings (my immediate family). We got one with his side, but missed mine by accident. There were sooo many photos so not the end of the world by any means. That would not stop me from recommending her to anyone. She is amazing and her assistant was just as amazing. Our photos are perfect and she captured all the perfect moments.
She was extremely quick. She sent us 5 sneak peek photos the next morning and had the rest in our hands about 6 weeks later which was impressively fast. I would recommend her to everyone! She is fabulous :) -

We had our wedding day at Olowalu Plantation House and chose Tara for our photographer because we loved her style and we liked that she’s very familiar with the venue. And I’m so glad we had her! Tara was absolutely amazing on our wedding day! We have a really big family and she was just so patient when taking the group photos. She made sure to capture all the special moments on our big day; the first look, my husband with his grandparents, our walk down the aisle etc. And the sunset photos are absolutely gorgeous! The pictures came out so good! Everyone looked beautiful in them. Tara did such a wonderful job in capturing just how beautiful our wedding day was. As the bride, a lot is going on so sometimes you get distracted and aren’t able to take some time to just admire the details of your own wedding. Details are so so important to me and being able to look back at my pictures and see what the sky/ocean looked like, the colors of my bouquet, the room I got ready in, how the guest check in table was set up etc just makes me so happy!! I honestly can’t stop looking at our photos. Our family and bridal party are also in love with them! Tara is so sweet and such a talented photographer! You’ll absolutely love her work! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I don’t know where to start.. it was all PERFECT. The photoshoot with Tara was easy, fun, relaxed and SO PROFESSIONAL. It’s not easy with a toddler but she worked with the elements and the pics turned out more than AMAZING! Wedding in Paradise
We booked our wedding at Olowalu Plantation on Maui. This venue alone is breathtaking but having a photographer that knows the venue and staff, along with the ability to capture some of the most breathtaking picture’s is everything. Tara is so kind and professional, she was so easy to work with and captured our day perfectly. We also had our two children with us and they were some tough subjects to take pictures of.
