We booked Tan Weddings & Events for our wedding officiant and we had such a positive experience!
We worked with Rev Rick Tan as our officiant. Rev Rick was super organized and all communication was quick and clear. Rev Rick helped us craft our perfect ceremony script. We had the ability to provide a lot of input and include personal touches. I really loved that Rev Rick took our input and created a beautiful ceremony script that was well-written, clear, and sentimental.
The day after our wedding, my husband and I were talking about the ceremony and how impressed we were with how it turned out. The day was smooth and Rev Rick's words to us ahead of time really eased our nerves. He was able to obtain our witness signature quickly and helped us with submitting the marriage license to the county, We are so thankful for Rev Rick and recommend him to any couple looking for an officiant around Sacramento.

From the day we did our initial consult up until the big day (and then some), Rick and team were guiding us through every single step, making sure we didn't forget anything. Rev. Rick Tan officiated our wedding ceremony on June 3, 2023. I can't even begin to explain how perfect our ceremony was!!! Hands down best money spent on our wedding day and worth every penny!!!! If you're looking for a professional, well-spoken (loud & clear), personable, friendly, well dressed, well put together officiant with great presence and energy then look no further. I tasked my husband with finding an officiant for our wedding and I'm so glad that he found him. My husband searched wedding wire and originally reached out to another officiant but she was already booked so she recommended Tan Events & Wedding Officiant to us.
The whole process was so smooth and he communicated with us very well through email. He provided a selection of scripts that we chose from and then he personalized the script to our love story. He is such an amazing story teller! From the way that he told our story, it was so intimate and personal that all of our guests thought he was a relative or a very close friend of ours when in reality we had just met him 30 minutes prior to the ceremony. Pictures do not do his services any justice. If you want to see his actual work, you can see bits and pieces of it through our wedding trailer and video. We are also soooo pleased and impressed that he pronounced our names correctly!!! And extra points for stepping out of the shot for our first kiss! Highly, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

Fabulous - phenomenal team
If you are reading this, it probably means you’ve looked up the Tan Wedding and Events. Your next step should be - hire them ! I cannot begin to describe how their whole team is extremely organized, diligent, thoughtful.
To begin with the planning stage: what they do well is, breaking down the building blocks and making sure you execute every step in a thoughtful manner. Their timelines are helpful as it doesn’t overwhelm you. They are also there to provide unbiased advice. What they did very well was, they let us create our own wedding event while providing advice from their experience of managing myriad weddings (and they are good at also dissuading you from ideas that may not be the best from an execution standpoint). Their portfolio includes a diverse set of weddings, another reason why we hired them. The biggest benefit I think in this stage was their network of vendors - they helped us narrow the portfolio of vendors and helped us analyze the choices we had.
Execution stage: about 1-2 months before is time you will be most busy. They were very good about flagging items we may have missed and keeping us on track. They helped us design our wedding venue as well (layout etc) - we did not know how much we didn’t know until we got into it.
On the day of: production: the wedding looked incredible - everything was meticulously placed, beautifully designed. One of my bridal party members could not attend due to Covid, but their team helped me wherever possible. I do think they went above and beyond our expectations! Their level of calm and professionalism stood out to us. They helped keep time, process and they were flexible with changes too as our day progressed.
To summarize - my husband and I feel incredibly blessed to have TWE plan our wedding. When I look back at our wedding picture - my heart is filled with immense gratitude to TWE.

We were so lucky to have Tan Weddings plan our wedding. Having them help us was an absolute home run decision.
Rick and Jennifer are incredibly competent and had the experience, connections, and expertise to help us get clarity on what we wanted to have our wedding be like and then make that happen exactly as we'd hoped for. In addition to helping us come up with a vision, provide guidance where we needed it, and making it all come to life, Rick officiated the wedding, and did such a fabulous job. We appreciated his warmth and charisma.
The Tan's style is warm, calm, collaborative, supportive, and totally competent. We had no drama or stress during the entire process; I never worried about anything about the wedding because the Tan's so clearly had everything under control. We were able relax and enjoy not just the wedding, but the planning planning thanks to the Tans. We felt we found new friends, and I will miss our calls and texts!
I cannot recommend them highly enough; if you're looking for someone to help with wedding or event planning, you absolutely cannot to better. They are simply wonderful.

My husband I and used Tan Weddings & Events for their officiating services at our recent wedding. We enjoyed working with Reverend Rick throughout our entire wedding planning process. We postponed our wedding a full year due to the pandemic and Rev. Rick was very flexible, accommodating, and understanding. As we got closer to our wedding day, he made sure to check in with us and reminded us of important steps/dates along the way. We really enjoyed using their WedWordy app to create our customized ceremony words. Building our own ceremony script seemed daunting at first, but the app has a wide selection of templates to work from. Our experience was fun and easy! Our ceremony words held such a deeper meaning to us because we wrote them ourselves.
On wedding day, our ceremony flowed so smoothly and beautifully. Rev. Rick officiated with such professionalism and a calm presence. Magical Forest Elopement
Jennifer and Rick helped my husband and I have a magical elopement in the Redwoods! I couldn't have asked for more. The most amazing and beautiful wedding experience!!!
Husband and wife team Rick and Jennifer Tan bring an element of love and genuine caring into their wedding planning. I can not imagine how I could have ever pulled off all of the beauty and perfection that they brought to our life on that day without them. As we move forward to expand our family, I think back and remember Rick and Jennifer and that perfect day, and I want to let others know as well, so that they can have this same joy!! Although our life is not perfect, somehow on that day, it really was perfect. I had always dreamed of a certain kind of day for my wedding and when I found that my family was not on the same page as me for that vision, I was so happy, relieved and grateful that Tan Weddings and Events did see my vision, and created it for us!!! Although it’s often a family affair to have a wedding, the elopement that Tan Weddings made for us was made us so happy, and it was for sure the right decision for us. We’re forever grateful to them and to the vendors they gather together to work with! Thanks to Jennifer and Rick, we had everything we’d ever dreamed of, from the best photos of a lifetime, to the most delicious cake made by a world famous pastry chef and a Michelin star chef made dinner for 2, to flowers so gorgeous that I’ve never even seen better in the wedding magazines. They also made us custom watercolor invitations and Save the Dates, and Jennifer hand-dyed silk of my color choice to wrap the flower bouquet and for part of our ring ceremony. Rick played us custom music of our choosing on a full-sized harp as I walked down the aisle (let me tell you, Bryan Adams’ Everything I do on the harp is something to hear). It was truly a dream come true, and so far, it was the very best day of both mine and my husband’s life. Rick and Jennifer Tan at Tan Weddings and Events gave us a wedding elopement that will forever bring a smile to our faces and tears of joy to our eyes. We feel that even when life is hard, at least we will always have that day, and that joy is worth more than anything. We have Tan Weddings and Events to thank for that, and we couldn’t be more grateful to them for their effort, support, artistry and love that they put into their weddings. Both my now-husband and I don't have too much experience with weddings (mine was my first one!), so we trusted the Tans to help guide along the way and they really pulled through for us. We had a great vendor team that they helped us find, and were enthusiastic about working with our starry/moon/night sky theme. The wedding turned out to be a lot of fun and I had so many compliments about how great everything looked. Tan Weddings and Events was introduced to us by our venue, The Maples. From start to finish, Rick and Jennifer Tan were there with us and made the wedding planning process a breeze! The Perfect Elopement
So like everyone else our July 2020 Wedding wasn't what we originally planned. Instead of Chicago we planned an intimate elopement style wedding at Chateau St. Jean in Sonoma. Enter Jennifer and Rick Tan to handle everything and when I say everything I really mean everything. The decision to stick with our original date was somewhat last minute and Jennifer and Rick were fantastic. Can't recommend them enough. They handled everything from Hair & Makeup, cake, photography and even ceremony music. Once they got involved it just became a very seamless stress free process. Where do I even begin? Let me start by saying I would give the TWE team 10/5 stars if that was a thing. Actually, we will just make it a thing for them! And… BOOK THE TANS! Honestly, it was the best choice we could have made and they are worth every penny. Do not hesitate..trust me, you won’t regret it!
Our entire experience with TWE from start to finish was seamless. Absolutely stellar communication, organization, planning, and expertise. We booked TWE a year and a half before our summer 2020 wedding date. In the spring of 2020, the COVID 19 pandemic hit and the wedding industry and couples were in crisis mode. We struggled with what to do for our wedding, but Jennifer and her team were there every step of the way. Jennifer Tan is THE person you want by your side when planning a wedding in a pandemic. We ended up having an intimate micro wedding on our original date, and could not be happier with how it turned out. No matter how you decide to navigate your event during the pandemic, TWE will make it work and it will be incredible.
In the midst of this, we changed locations 2 weeks before the wedding and had some vendor changes. The Tans took this on full speed ahead, and everything went off without a hitch. In this extremely stressful time, we never lost confidence that the TWE team could make it happen.
As the bride, I handled much of the planning and communication with Jennifer. Jennifer Tan is a bride’s best friend through this whole process and on your big day! The entire time I felt like I was her only bride she was working with (which I’m sure she had many). That is just how attentive and caring she was. I appreciated her calm energy & can-do attitude through it all. We needed that!
Jennifer and Rick are not only talented and extremely professional, but also just kind, incredible people. These are the people you want by your side planning your special event. We cannot recommend Jennifer, Rick, and their team enough! I can’t imagine planning an event without them.

I had complete trust in TWE and it was an amazing experience!
We were planning a wedding from the other side of the country and definitely needed a planner to help with most aspects, from vendor suggestions, design, and planning. The Tans were recommended to us by a venue we toured and are so glad we choose them. Their pricing was very reasonable and we were returned an incredible value for what we paid. Amy guided us through the design process and Rick and Jennifer worked on the overall coordination and day of plan. They suggested vendors who matched our vision and budget and we were very happy with each one we decided on. The entire process up to the day of was perfect and absolutely worth the price. What happened the day of, far exceeded that! We were married in the middle of the fires and extreme winds. While our area was not affected by the fires or smoke, the winds did cause the power to be out, which meant no electricity or well water. The Tans and our other vendors took care of everything (moving the reception tables inside, finding generators, sourcing a lot of bottled water and finding luxury lavatories, etc.) and we had complete trust in them to take care of our day. Many of our guests did not know the power was out until the night was setting in. It was almost as if we planned a romantic candlelit reception! Not only are they well-connected and talented, the entire team is warm, friendly, and love what they do. If I am ever planning another event in the area, I will absolutely contact Tan Wedding Events and you should too!

You NEED Tan Weddings and Events on your wedding team. Do not get married without them.. They are AMAZING!!! We are a couple based in Asia who recently got married in Sonoma. Planning a wedding is tough enough but to do it from miles away, during the COVID19 pandemic, posed all-new challenges. We feel blessed to have had TWE for planning, coordination, design and officiating. Rick and Jen helped bridge that distance and cultural gap for us and made everything seamless. They are a powerhouse couple. Their passion for events is undeniable. They also have such a great network. I met my videographer, DJ, florist, transportation and rentals through them. All top-quality vendors. Their designer, Amy is also wonderful to work with. I never got a chance to meet her but my few conversations with her made me feel assured, understood and happy.
Jen is just a wealth of information and I appreciated her insight and suggestions, even if they sometimes differed from my views. I leaned on her A LOT and each time she was so gracious and helpful. I would message at odd hours due to the time difference and she’s so swift with replies..sometimes I wondered if she ever slept. Haha. She made sure to keep us on track with gentle encouragement which we needed to make sure we didn’t slack off and forget anything.
Rick’s was our officiant but he was also involved in the planning aspect. He is skilled at putting things into perspective and helped us sift through different options and scenarios. He did the seating chart and signs for our wedding. All came out beautiful. He was also my officiant and took the time to personalize the service by using quotes from my favorite author. Rick is a gifted and charismatic orator, even my guests said so! His calming presence helped me through the ceremony cuz I was so nervous and emotional.
On the days leading up to the wedding day, COVID19 was starting to close down on events and cities. I was grateful that TWE handled all of the issues for me – they checked in with our vendors to make sure that all would take precautions. Our guestlist was dwindling and TWE also worked with our vendors to make last-minute adjustments.

We’re So Happy We Chose Tan Weddings!
Any Habicht was our officiant and we couldn’t more happy with her. I was mainly drawn to her because she spiritual and I am super spiritual as well. On our wedding day Amy was so amazing! After meeting my now husband at the altar and realizing all eyes are on us I was extremely nervous but she helped calm my nerves. During our ceremony she did the blessing of hands and I thought it was so beautiful and it almost made my husband cry.
Any was so sweet and great to work with on our special day. We highly recommend Amy for anyone looking for an officiant for their wedding day!

Made Our Wedding Day Relaxing and Carefree
We hired the TWE team for day of coordination and officiating services. From the moment we contacted them, they were professional, informational, and responsive. I cannot day enough kind things about Jennifer and her team.
First, Jennifer would always respond to any questions I had in a reasonable amount of time. She cares about her work and truly cares about her couples and wants to make sure they have an amazing day. The months, weeks, and days leading up to our wedding we had a lot of communication. One thing I really enjoyed was the phone details conversation we had. We talked about details but Jennifer also gave us some sound advice about relaxation and taking time for ourselves. It was so kind and personal and something I’ll always remember.
Second, their team is diligent and helpful. On the day of, Amy, was with me and helped to guide through the timeline of getting to the ceremony. She was kind, made sure I had everything I needed, and also did some guest wrangling when we needed them out of the bungalow we were getting ready in. She snapped some candids and were a great way for us to remember the day until we got our professional pictures back.
Finally, they made the day of so painless and we didn’t worry about a thing. Have DIY decor? They set it up. Cards and gifts? They load it in to the person of your choice vehicle for safe keeping and transport. Don’t want to worry about cleaning up at the end of the night? They take care of packing everything up and sending you home with any of your left over food/dessert.
Because of the TWE team, our wedding was relaxing and enjoyable. We didn’t worry about a thing and were allowed to be caught up in the moment and enjoy our love and celebration with friends and family.

What more can I say except that I’m obsessed with Jennifer Tan and her team. She was my brain and my other half. She was ALWAYS available and literally never forgets anything. She was on top of every single little detail and always one step ahead, anticipating needs, cost changes and always had an answer for every complicated question I would throw at her. She was by my side and kept me calm, collected and a “chill bride.” Her team pulled off the most magical weekend (four totally separate events, three nights and four days) that far exceeded any of my already high expectations. My father even gave a major shout out to her and her team during his welcome speech! Ps. They are an extremely talented husband and wife team with amazing supporting staff that all totally LOVE what they do. My wedding is over and I still text her because I miss her! Hire her. My husband and I have been married for almost 3 years now and we STILL rave about Tan Wedding Services! We recommend them to our family and friends because they truly made our day so special. Rick Tan officiated our wedding and did so much more. You don’t really think about the structure of how you want your ceremony to be and it can be overwhelming to create the perfect one for you and your partner. Rick made it super easy for us and guided us the entire way, even providing us a possible template of how our weddings vows could be! You can tell how passionate he is with his work it really shows in the results, a true professional. Not only did Reverend Rick Tan officiate our wedding, he also played our music for our ceremony! He played the harp and it was so beautiful. Just writing this review allows me to relive our perfect day and how smooth our ceremony was thanks to Rick! Incredible service -- hiring Jennifer and TWE was one of the best decisions we made in the whole process!
Jennifer was the consummate professional, and we feel incredibly lucky to have worked with her. She was organized, flexible, extremely helpful, and astonishingly responsive. Over the course of a year and literally hundreds of emails, texts, and phone calls, she kept us calm, focused, and on task without ever imposing herself on us. Jennifer incorporated every thought and idea we had into the larger plan or explained patiently and honestly why they wouldn't work. She handled all of our contracts and managed our vendors and venue so that we didn't have to. I can't even begin to say enough words to describe my experience working with Jennifer and her team. Every girl has their pinterest board of ideas but where do you really start? From my first call with Jennifer I felt at ease and comfortable that I knew that she was there for me and also knowing what to expect. She was good at checking in to ensure everything was on track and that I didn't need any help. But back to my pinterest board that I spoke about above... Not only did they execute every last detail but they perfected it with their professional finishing touches!
Lastly I know I already mentioned that our wedding was absolutely perfect but I left something out.. She ALSO did our Flowers, and I mean all of them to every last piece of greenery! I literally have tears in my eyes look back at every last detail of my vision and dream and to know that her team made it also their vision. Hands down the BEST WEDDING COORDINATOR. Choose Jose Flores!
Jose Flores was more than we could have asked to preside over our wedding. Right from the start, we knew we were in great hands upon our first meeting. Leading up to the wedding, he made the extra effort to come to our home to really get to know us better. He was always available to reach out to with any question we had.
On the day of our wedding, Jose was awesome! He did an amazing job helping to calm our nerves and assured us that everything was going to go perfectly and we had nothing to worry about.
Our ceremony was fantastic! Jose breezed through everything like a true professional. He even stopped to laugh with both us and our guests, as we struggled with our nerves in trying to tie our Fisherman's Knot! He didn't miss a beat, and sent us off a very happy newlywed couple!

The best decision I made this year was to marry my best friend. The second best decision I made was hiring Tan Wedding & Events to plan our dream day.
We were very nervous about planning a wedding in 6 months with a tight budget but Jennifer was an absolute dream to work with. From the very beginning she understood our vision and helped us find the most amazing team of vendors, within said tight budget, to make it happen. She graciously and promptly responded to all of my emails, questions and concerns and truly held my hand through the entire process.
Her husband, Rick, officiated our ceremony. He met with us a few times before the big day to get to know each other more and do some pre-marital counseling. He used WedWordy to help us create a custom, beautiful ceremony script that I will forever cherish.

I cannot say enough about Tan Weddings! We got engaged in June and were trying to plan a quick elopement in August in Napa so I did a ton of research and contacted so many planners. I had an exact vision of what I wanted (something intimate with a private dinner for just us) and I was disappointed that so many planners told me "not sure anyone does that". I was also disappointed that so many planners were so unresponsive with a complete lack of follow up. But then I contacted Jennifer Tan. Right from the first exchange of emails, Jennifer was so responsive and if I said I wasn't sure about anything she responded that she would check on some other options. When we first talked on the phone, she wanted to understand what we envisioned and it was clear that she was really listening and wanted to ensure everything was perfect. When our wedding day came, we could not have been more thrilled with how everything turned out. The vendors were top notch (photography, hair/makeup, venue/catering) and every little detail was taken care of (they did our flowers and they were GORGEOUS!). It was an elopement (just the two of us!) but Rick and Jennifer never made us feel like we were less important than the big weddings that I know they had on the near horizon. Bottom line, Tan Weddings is amazing to work with and worth every single penny. We would highly recommend them to anyone!!

How do I put into words their tremendous assistance during our special day.. Let’s just say we asked for a day of coordinator and we basically got a whole team who seem to have the talent or maybe intuition to be situated where you need them the most. There is nothing they wouldn’t do to make your wedding day go as smoothly as they can humanly possible. They are so thoughtful, made sure that everyone in the wedding party is fed and hydrated during the event, especially the bride and groom. Very easy to communicate with, they would guide you to achieve your vision, not push you into an idea they have and they worked really well with my other vendors. My husband and I even see one of them serving the drinks as the Catering needs extra hands. We were able to relax and enjoy our wedding day. Highly recommended!

We chose to hire an officiant for our wedding ceremony because we did not want to put any sort of pressure on a family member or friend. I found Tan Weddings about a week before our wedding as our other officiant had dropped out last minute. I had made a post about needing an officiant on a Wedding Recycle page on Facebook and thankfully they had replied back within 5 minutes. I ended up being able to meet with them the same day and chose Reverend Rick to be our officiant. He was very kind, very flexible and everything I wanted for my officiant so I hired him the same day.
He came up with a very beautiful ceremony with the perfect hint of corniness and humor to help ease our tensions and make our guests laugh. Everything was perfect and even after the ceremony, my guests were raving about our officiant! I definitely will be recommending Tan Weddings and Events to other people!

To start I am a chill, yet elegant-perfectionist type of bride. I found Tan weddings online and simply sent a email. Then after the initial email ( everyone knows it takes days for vendors to respond or not even do that- but Tan Weddings responded in less than 2 hours max) it was a match made in heaven. Jennifer and Rick Tan were amazing from start to finish. Jennifer is a fairy godmother that every bride should have on their side. Let me clarify.. I personally don’t like to repeat my self on what I like and my expectations- Tans Weddings are top notch professionals. Once The Tans meet you, they already know what kind of bride and groom to anticipate. I didn’t have to repeat a word, just sit back and relax - after I did my little assignments that were asked of me.
They allowed me to have peace of mind with the planning and organizing which was shear bliss and a dream. Tan Weddings are professionals, miracle workers, affordable, and a wonderful individuals to plan your event. Their staff that works prior and during the event is spectacular. Everyone on their team is undoubtfully perfect.
The day of the wedding, I was greeted by Mr. Rick then shortly after Mrs. Jennifer and the weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders. I know every bride says their wedding was perfect but I must say honestly Mine was PERFECT; with a rainbow and family of deers roaming, seriously ... Tan Wedding & Events is A MUST to hire for any bride that wants sheer perfection with makeup, food, cake, decor, venue choice, photography, videography, musicians, and true friendship after everything is over and done.
One last comment though, I have only one regret... not finding Tan Wedding &Events sooner. That would have saved the pre marriage arguments with my now husband on choices. Take my advice: they are amazing and worth every penny in the world for that PERFECT moment in life.

They clearly know what they're doing, they are very organized and professional, and it's clear that they enjoy what they do. Their calm demeanor and professionalism made our day smooth and seamless. Of all the officiants I have worked with Jennifer stood out to me with her warm demeanor and professionalism. This is why I had her officiate my wedding! And of course she did an amazing job and stepping us through everything for the ceremony in a clear concise way. We were a little nervous beforehand but once we went over everything with her we felt completely at ease. Jennifer was the officiant at our October wedding and she and Rick also made signs, table numbers, and the seating chart, and provided us with photo frames for our wedding. They are very experienced and clearly know what they are doing. I never had to worry about any task that had been assigned to them. Jennifer did an amazing job officiating our ceremony. I was very nervous about the ceremony, but she prepped me adequately beforehand about how the ceremony would go and patiently answered all my questions. My husband works in the wedding industry and had worked weddings with Jennifer in the past, and she was his first pick for our wedding. Jennifer and Rick are also the sweetest people! They are so kind and easy to get along with. I'm so glad Jennifer was a part of our wonderful wedding!

We are so very incredibly happy we chose Rev. Rick Tan to be the officiant for our wedding!! He is kind, easy to work with, and responds to emails promptly. Choosing our ceremony words was very easy to do on their online website. Rev. Rick Tan came to rehearsal 30 minutes early and patiently waited/chatted with everyone while the rest of the bridal party were still on their way to rehearsal. He walked the bridal party through rehearsal very smoothly and made sure to give us lots of tips! Rev. Rick has an excellent speaking voice, very calm and soothing. As I was listening to him speak during our ceremony, I started tearing up listening to his sweet words about love. I would 1000% recommend choosing Rev. Rick Tan as your officiant!!! It will be the best decision you will make throughout your whole wedding planning process!!

I honestly don't believe I could have done better with any other vendor, level of experience, or additional finances. I felt as if the Tan's were good friends helping me have the most special day possible and never sensed or felt as if it were a contracted job or service. We didn't have to worry about a thing. We just showed up and let the good times roll.

I used Tan weddings and Events through Wedgewood as one of our vendors. Working with Jennifer Tan from the beginning was great! They are very organized and made sure everything during our ceremony was perfect! Love their ceremony words maker, too!! Getting to choose the exact words that would be spoken was priceless to us. Even with having an unexpected turn of events the day of our wedding, with Jennifer getting stuck in traffic and not being able to make it, she had another officiant who lived near by ready to go and perform our ceremony. And it turned out Rev. Corkie was the best!! So sweet, and prepared both of us for what we had to say and do during the ceremony. I couldn't have asked for a better ceremony for my wedding and the Tan's made that possible!

Reverend Jose Flores with Tan Weddings & Events did a perfect job as the officiant for our wedding. Our wedding ceremony was just as we had planned, and it's all thanks to Jose's planning and preparation. We met several times with Jose to prepare and arrange our ceremony script, in addition to meeting for our wedding rehearsal to ensure everyone knew where/when to walk and talk. Wow! We cannot say enough good things about working with the Tans for our wedding ceremony in Napa Valley. They were a dream to plan our vows and the flow for our ceremony -- they are incredibly organized and experienced in translating and delivering couples' wishes for their nuptials, and at every interaction along the way, they were so lovely and positive and supportive. I loved having Jennifer officiate our wedding, if I could I would giver her 10 stars! She was so wonderful right from our first meeting, my husband and I immediately felt comfortable with her. Not only did she officiate our ceremony, she helped us to find our florist, made putting together our ceremony effortless and fun, and was there if we needed help every step of the way. By the time our wedding day rolled around, it was as if we were having a friend marry us, not just a professional officiant. We had several guests approach us after the ceremony to compliment Jennifer, they felt she did an amazing job and had enjoyed listening to her. Jennifer really set the tone for our ceremony, emphasizing the love we wanted our guests to feel as we said "I do".

I can't imagine anyone other than Reverend Rick Tan as our officiant. I was a little nervous because of the different "religious" views of our parents . Knowing my mom wanted us to get married in the Catholic Church, I worried I would disappoint her. But Rick's way of letting you choose each step of the ceremony wording (from nondenominational, religious , spiritual , contemporary) it made me feel so much better and let us choose what we wanted (and the chance to mix it up / combine ideas to make everyone happy) . He was so flexible when we changed from unity candle to Celtic knot at the last minute , he was very understanding. His warm, calming presence helped ease my nerves on the big day . I cannot speak highly enough of Tan Weddings and recommend them to anyone in need of an officiate, ceremony music, or assistance in wedding planning and/or coordination of vendors!! Jennifer Tan officiated our October wedding and Rick Tan played harp. From the moment we met them, we knew they were perfect for us. We had an original venue in mind and, after a few months, decided to down scale but were lost on options. Jennifer immediately offered suggestions, and even took us to view a few ceremony locations. She also set me up with Bloom&Vine, a wonderful florist! Jennifer was prompt and responsive every step of the way. She truly went above & beyond. She is very charismatic and has a soft, soothing voice that instantly calms your nerves and makes you feel comfortable. Rick is extremely kind, and a talented harp player. He accommodated our modern songs choices, and played beautifully. All of our wedding guests complimented both of them! Plus, they both love LOVE and show it by their enthusiasm and joy! Their prices are small compared to the time they ultimately give so be sure to tip!! :-) You can't go wrong with these two!!

After seeing Rick Tan at my nephews wedding, we immediately knew we wanted Rick Tan to marry us. Our wedding ceremony was wonderful, we even adding in a funny addition to our vows that I forgot to mention to Reverend Tan and we went with it and adjusted accordingly. Reverend Tan was easy to get a hold of guided us through each step and made everyone feel at ease and very comfortable. Working with his website was extremely easy and user friendly. My husband and I chose Reverend Rick Tam to officiate our wedding. He was so helpful on the wedding day process and he really walked us through the ceremony. He allowed to choose certain ceremonial traditions as well as readings to customize the wedding the way we wanted it. We had Jennifer Tan officiate at our wedding, and she was absolutely wonderful! She helped us put together a special ceremony, and the process was very easy.
Jennifer is very experienced, and yet not at all jaded. She’s genuinely warm and enthusiastic, and helped make our ceremony a truly joyous occasion.
Even though we didn’t have her attend our rehearsal, everything went smoothly on the day of the wedding — she helped us work out all the logistics in advance and gave us very clear direction.
During our vows, the wind picked up the bride’s veil and nearly blew it away, if not for the quick hands of the best man — and Jennifer handled the incident like a pro, making it both humorous and memorable.

Reverend Jennifer Tan was absolutely AMAZING!! The Tans were recommended by my wedding planner. We were doing a destination wedding and wanted a semiformal ceremony and officiant. We are spiritual but not super religious but needed help and guidance in this whole department- Reverend Tan provided it. We did a phone interview and after speaking with Jennifer we knew she was the one for us. She was happy and eager to help. The ceremony builder was super helpful and instrumental. It gives you plenty of options to choose and customize the type of ceremony that you desire down to every word if you choose- the range from super religious to poetic, and their guidance through actually getting the marriage license in California (we are from Texas) to their immediate response time was absolutely what we were looking for. Jennifer provided us with a wonderful ceremony and her joyous spirit brings light in a very serious moment. Her calmness throughout the process makes you feel more at ease and confident with your decision the more you get to work with her. I would hands down recommend her as your officiant- across all boards

Excellent! Had a wonderful experience with the entire team for my wedding. Spoke to Jennifer on the phone and organized everything online, including the vows themselves. Their system made it incredibly easy to get our vows ready. Paid it all online as well.
Reverand Ron was the officiant at our wedding. It all went smoothly. I truly had no issues with this company from start to finish and highly recommend them for your wedding! They even make copies of the wedding license after the wedding so in case something happens, there are copies! We mostly worked with Rick Tan for our wedding, although I am sure Jennifer is incredible! He didn't just officiate our wedding.When we first met he walked us through what would happen and what the process looked like for our vows. He asked us how the whole process was going and upon hearing that we were struggling with finding a florist, he coordinated our working with Bloom & Vine which delivered some of the most beautiful flowers I have seen! He played the harp for our entrance (which was beautiful) and gave us advice on how to pick what to walk down to (I was anti-wedding march!). Our vows matched us and flowed seamlessly thanks to the Tan's online wedding vow writing process. We were intimidated by writing our vows, but it ended up being one of the easiest parts of our wedding! When it came to the actual day, he was calm and collected. He picked up on my husband slowly getting ready to pass out and was at the ready to catch him if needed! Thankfully, he didn't go down and managed to hold it together!
We were so happy to use the Tans! Online pay made everything easy (woohoo to earning points on our credit card!) and just went above and beyond our expectations. As someone who initially wanted to marry at the courthouse, I would absolutely do it again with Rick Tan.

No words can express our gratitude for Reverend Jennifer Tan, she was beyond amazing and Heaven Sent. Before the ceremony I started freaking out because I forgot the ceremony music I didn't know what to do (download it all..it will take forever) my nerves were frantic I only had 15min until the ceremony. Reverend Jennifer totally understood and totally helped organize the grooms men and the ceremony. We worked on the ceremony and the order a few weeks before. Five minutes before the ceremony I called my now husband and told him sorry I had forgot our music and luckily we hired a Mariachi band and had them play. Reverend J. Tan talked with the band and everything was smooth sailing. She is an expert at what she does. Much praise I couldn't of had my beautiful wedding without her. The day goes by so fast and she took over and created a beautiful ceremony I will always remember. Thank You Reverend Jennifer Tan we are so grateful! ?????? ????

We live in Chicago and have never traveled to Northern California before so as you can imagine, it was intimidating to plan such an important event with very little knowledge on how to do so from afar! After just a few simple email exchanges, I knew she was the one who would make our elopement that much more special. It's hard to express fully my appreciation for Tan Weddings & Events. For about a year I worked closely with Jennifer Tan as she helped coordinate my wedding day. From the day I contacted her she was always quick to respond to my emails, knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The part that is hardest to express is how much she seemed to actually care about us and our wedding. She handled all parts of my wedding from the suggesting locations to choose from to obtaining all of the fantastic vendors that participated. Because of her experience she made everything so easy and stress free during the wedding planning process and the day of the wedding. Anything idea I dreamed up for my wedding she made possible, such as designing centerpieces and a beautiful handcrafted bouquet. I truly can't say enough about her. Additionally, Jennifer and her husband, Rick Tan, are amazingly talented. They added some unique handmade elements to our wedding like signage, centerpieces, corn-hole games, invitations and so much more. Jennifer and her intern worked throughout the wedding day with prep and decor. Jennifer also officiated our ceremony and played live music! The ceremony was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. Numerous guests told me after the event that "this was the best wedding they had ever been to" and that is all because of the hard work of Jennifer and Tan Weddings & Events.

My wife and I were very lucky and blessed to have found Reverend Tan. We were originally looking for a wedding officiant and getting quotes from a variety of vendors. But after finding Reverend Tan, we no longer had to deal with all that. She helped plan as well as coordinate our wedding ceremony and reception. She made everything very easy for us. We were working overseas then and the only way to communicate was through email. She would email us just about everyday to help get our wedding package together. After we signed on with her, we were sending emails multiple times a day. Reverend Tan would update us every time something happened. If my wife or I had a question, she would respond very quickly. On the day of the ceremony, she and her team made sure everything ran smoothly. They set up our reception and provided the decor, flowers, food, musician, makeup and hair stylist, photographer, cake, and wedding favors. After officiating our ceremony, she looked after our wedding reception. We were worried about the cake and food since we didn't have the opportunity to taste them beforehand, but we didn't need to worry at all. Everything was great! I don't think we could have had the wedding we wanted without her. I highly recommend her to anyone. We were very lucky to find her, so don't waste anymore time and contact her now!

Me and my husband had a Mission Impossible when we decided on our wedding date with only less than 3 months to plan for our wedding, and both of us are working in another country. The day I found Reverend Jennifer Tan is the day I finally felt relieved. She has been the most amazing help I got, and I'm pretty sure she is a God-send. When Reverend Tan realized that we are not even in the country to do any planning in person, she offered to help us get everything ready. Since then, she took care of the caterer, flowers, decor, music, and even hair and make up for us. She even got a photographer booked in time, sorted out our menus with the caterer, shortlisted the flowers that we wanted, linked us up with the relevant people to take my headache away. She was trustworthy, professional, dedicated, and understanding. Even when I was too busy to respond to her immediately, she was still working relentlessly on our wedding plans, sending us videos of different flower decor and pictures of cakes, while she patiently waited for me to make up my mind. The final touch that took my heart away was how she is sensitive to my Chinese roots, and included a tea ceremony for us to pay our respects to our parents and in-laws and officiated the tea ceremony for us as well. That really meant a lot for me and my husband to be able to express our gratitude for our parents and to be welcomed to the new family through the formal and traditional way. Even during the ceremony, she is wonderfully patient and encouraging. As our wedding coordinator, she made sure everything followed a flexible but orderly schedule, and constantly offered her professional advice in a soothing and assuring manner. Without Reverend Tan, this wedding wouldn't have happened at all. Thank you so much for being you, Reverend Tan.

Words can not express the love, kindness and immense gratitude we both feel towards reverend Rick Tan. He made our most beautiful day even more beautiful with his kindness, generosity, wisdom and his gentleness. Every thing reverend Tan did, from the moment we met him, was motivated by pure goodness and by the desire to make both of us happy as we can be and make our day a day to remember. On the very first interview, he was gentle, kind, understanding and attentive to all of our needs and desire. We had been interviewing other officiants but something was off and we just couldn't really feel it in our hearts to decide so we kept looking. The moment we heard reverend Tan’s voice we knew he was the one. His kind gentle caring voice soothes people and makes you genuinely want to listen to everything he has to say. He was very attentive to our needs and desires and was beyond flexible to work with our Albanian-Indian-Buddhist 10 hour long wedding which had 5 parts to it. We had two ceremonies, a hindu ceremony in the morning and a non denominational ceremony where we exchanged vows. On the day of the wedding Reverend Tan showed up early, set up his instrument and played harp for one hour for our guest before the bride walked down the isle, then he played the bridal march as the bride was walking down the isle. He is incredible at playing the harp and it sounded like angelic music. Everything about what reverend Tan did was exceptional. Of the entire wedding the exchange of the vows and what reverend Tan spoke of, was our favorite part and the favorite part of all of our guests. Words can not do justice to the beautiful human soul reverend Tan is and to what an amazing experience we had because of him. We are beyond grateful to him for making our most special day even more magical. He exceeded all of our expectation and will forever be in our hears for one of the most memorable moments of our lives.

Rev. Rick Tan did everything we asked of him and more. We met with him and his lovely wife twice before the wedding. We worked on the ceremony together and he listened and gave great feedback. He customized out ceremony and it was perfect. He attended our rehearsal to make sure that everything would run smooth. He played harp for us before the ceremony and during the cocktail hour. The ceremony ended up being beautiful and we owe that to Rev Rick! We got so many compliments on the ceremony! Reverend Jennifer Tan was awesome. She is extremely responsive and very helpful. We had many questions and she gets back to you right away with helpful advice and suggestions. She worked with us to make sure we had every detail with our ceremony just right. She is very friendly, and we both felt comfortable with her, which is extremely important given all the nerves and excitement surrounding the ceremony. She was right there with us before the ceremony to help with the final details. We highly recommend Reverend Tan!

For not being able to coordinate a wedding in or near our home, we had to rely on reviews upon reviews to decide on who to officiate our wedding at last minute. We had 3 months to plan, and six weeks before our wedding, a relative who had previously agreed decided to back-out of performing the ceremony. We were highly disappointed, but very glad that we were able to find someone in such short notice to deliver such a beautiful ceremony on a labor day weekend. Planning it was easy with Rev. Tan through his online portal. He had so many scripts/templates available to choose from that I didn't need to think to hard. I felt a connection to many of the pieces of his ceremony script, and although templates were available we also had the chance to customize it in any way we wished, which we did, and doing so was easy. At not one point after deciding to go with Rev. Tan did we feel stressed about this part of the wedding planning process. We felt like we were in good hands, and on the day of, the tone of his voice and pace of his delivery was perfect.

She did an excellent job and made sure everything went smoothly for our wedding. We initially were not very sure as to what we wanted for our wedding and she was very willing to help give her recommendations and help us along the way. What she suggested for us was perfect for our wedding and our personalities.

Rev. Rick Tan was beyond phenomenal! My wife and I could feel the great energy that surrounds him. He also provided our ceremony music which was fabulous, his Harp playing made our ceremony magical. His style was very genuine and warm, so it didn't feel like he was just doing the job that he was hired to do. Rev Rick Tan made our ceremony flow so well! My wife and I highly recommend him!!!

We booked Rev. Rick Tan for our wedding in Sonoma. We submitted an inquiry and got a response right away. Both he and his wife Jennifer (also a reverend!) hopped on a Skype chat with us so that we could get to know each other since my husband and I weren't sure which person to book. They were both incredibly nice and professional. We ultimately chose Rick because he played the harp.
We weren't completely sure if we wanted to use their music services (Jennifer plays the flute and Rick plays the harp) but we wanted to keep our options open. About a month and a half before the wedding, we decided to proceed with the harp and Rev. Tan was completely flexible. He threw in the service and updated our invoice.
The best part: they have templates available that fit a variety of needs (religious, spiritual, non-religious). We chose one that was non-religious and more about being grateful for everything. We were able to remove a section we didn't quite like, and we decided to also throw in our own vows. Rev. Tan adjusted as needed, placing our vows at the right time.
Our guests absolutely loved him. They said he did such a great job officiating, that they loved the words and vows, and that the harp was such a beautiful touch. For the harp we chose "Can't help falling in love" for the bridal party entrance, "just the way you are" for the bride's entrance, and "here comes the sun" for our exit.
We also asked Rev. Tan to announce that our ceremony would be unplugged (no phones or cameras out) and he did so in such a respectful manner. He pointed out that we had two great artists to capture the moment (photographer and videographer) and that we wanted everyone's full attention for the very special moment.

I used Reverend Rick Tan as my wedding officiant. He is amazing! very easy work with. he will want to know the story of how the couple met first and history together to get to know more the couple. Hes very flexible and was able to accommodate my request of speaking 3 languages. He spoke Tagalog, Spanish and English throughout the ceremony to give respect to our heritage. He will help you throughout the wedding ceremony preparation. he also offers a lot more services than being an officiant. Very talented and caring family!

Rick and Jennifer Tan provided multiple services for our elopement... they helped with EVERYTHING!! Setting, Glasses, Cake, Flowers, Music, Ceremony, Picnic Lunch, Special Arrangements, Gifts... You name it, they were our "go to" power family. It was an amazing experience that I couldn't be happier with! Everything they were involved with from the very beginning worked out perfectly! I expected something to not work out... We went through the entire experience and not one time had that happen. I can't recommend them enough. As Napa is now the site of our elopement, I look forward to staying in touch. Everything they did was extremely professional while maintaining a very happy and laid back disposition. They worked extremely well with everyone to make our day so special and EXACTLY as we had in mind. Thank you!!

I really cannot say enough good things about Rev. Jen Tan. She was recommended to me by my wedding planner and I was so so happy with her. We had a destination wedding and so we didn't meet in person until the rehearsal, but Jen took time to speak to me over the phone to get a sense of our individual personalities and what my husband and I wanted in our ceremony. She was open to our style and sent us a lot of helpful templates and suggestions when we created our script. At the wedding Jen was calming and did a great job incorporating the elements that were important to us. I wish i knew how creative her and her husband were before the wedding. Since our event has passed I have seen some beautiful calligraphy done by the Tan's and I would loved to use them for other things! Thank you so much Jen!

Rick and Jennifer were absolutely amazing! They were extremely responsive and knowledgeable in the wedding planning process. We provided Rick 3 songs to use in the ceremony and his rendition was beautiful. The crowd had a great time enjoying the music and got involved when Jennifer conducted in the readings. Reverend Tan came recommended to us, and she was wonderful as our officiant and song-leader! She was prepared, thorough, professional, and just a pleasure to work with. And, this may sound like a strange compliment, but she has a lovely voice for officiating. It's quite pleasant! From first speaking with her on the phone to the day-of service, we felt assured every step of the way that we chose the right person. She even offered a great idea--opening the ceremony up for blessings from our guests--which then became the highlight of the ceremony. The blessings we received were unscripted, touching, humorous, and made the ceremony feel intimate. It was such a pleasure working with her!

I will definitely recommend Jennifer and Rick to my friends! They are the most amazing people I met. Whenever I have a question or need anything, they will always be there. Even if I send them an email during the night, I got an immediate response. Rick played harp during the ceremony and catering, the music is so romantic and all of my friends love his music! It will be a long story to talk about how wonderful they are, but right now, we sincerely appreciate them being our Officiant and musician.

Reverend Tan was able to put my mind at ease at my rehearsal. After it was over I knew that I was in good hands. I was so relaxed for my wedding day because I knew that she was going to make sure everyone knew exactly what to do. It was totally worth the little bit of money that we spent to have her come to our rehearsal. She did a great job officiating our wedding and I'm so glad that we chose her.

Reverend Tan officiated our wedding about a month ago. He was an absolute pleasure to work with! I found our experience to be very pleasant and stress-free. He is extremely personable and made us feel at ease. What impressed me the most was that he was so prompt with all of my questions and emails! When we had questions to him about writing our own vows, Reverend Tan provided a lot of helpful links and suggestions as well. Overall, I would most definitely recommend Reverend Tan!

Jennifer was so wonderful all are guests were so impressed with her genital calm demeanor and her translation skills-she preformed the entire service in Spanish and English as we requested. Both my spouse and I appreciated her quick response to our questions prior to the day and following. We highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a officiant.
