I’ve used Millie several times for my cake needs, and recently hired her to bake our wedding cake in September, 2017. As always, she did a downright fabulous job. The cake was incredibly beautiful, and exactly what I had described to her that I had wanted. And Y’ALL – it was DELICIOUS!! We went with yellow cake, with milk chocolate filling and butter cream icing. It was so moist and perfect!! We provided cake flowers (including succulents) for Millie to add to our cake and she did a beautiful job arranging those on our cake. I will continue to use Millie for my future cake needs!! Thanks again Millie!!

Millie did such an amazing job with our wedding cakes! We had a pretty traditional bride's cake which was amazingly delicious and so beautiful! Exactly like her sample photos. She even placed the flowers/cake topper perfectly and provided a cake stand. The groom's cake had a "traditional tattoo" theme which needs a certain level of artistry and technique to pull off - Millie pulled it off perfectly! It was probably the most talked about thing at our wedding. Definitely a special touch and the groom loved it and couldn't get over how accurate the artwork was. Any time I need a cake in DFW I am definitely reaching out to Millie again! Amazing value for the quality, and you deal directly with the owner who is incredibly professional and friendly.

I cannot say enough good things about Takes the Cakes by Millie. She designed the most beautiful and thoughtful cake for my son's first birthday party. Millie was a dream to work with and the cake was the hit of the party! The details of the cake were amazing, and all eatable! And not only did his cake fit the theme to a T (camping theme), but it was moist and delicious! I will continue to use Takes the Cakes by Millie for all future events and highly recommend her to family and friends. Thank you Millie for making such a special cake for my son's first birthday!

I absolutely loved the cake! It was delicious and looked stunning. Millie did a great job. She was so easy to work with and very quick to respond if I had any questions. The cake was delivered and set up on time. I was so impressed with Millie throughout the whole wedding planning process. I would definitely recommend Millie to others for a wedding cake. We requested a Marine theme groom cake. Even though I am familiar with Millie's great work, I and everyone at the venue were amazed by the intricate attention to detail. Simply beautiful and stunning! Thank you Millie for another masterful work of art!

Millie with Takes the Cakes did the most beautiful wedding cake for me. I was completely stunned when I saw it. I have used Millie several times and am always amazed at how responsive, talented and easy to work with she is. My wife and I were extremely pleased with our shower cake, wedding cake, and couple's cake. Millie created a beautiful tiered cake that tasted just as wonderful as it looked. Her cakes are always lovely, no matter the event, and we would recommend her to anyone who enjoys cake.

My wife's cake was absolutely gorgeous! She was so excited when she saw it because it was just as she imagined it. The intricate detail of her cake was amazing and it tasted wonderful too! I highly recommend Takes the Cakes, you won't be disappointed!

We had called and emailed a picture of the wedding cake to about 4 different wedding cake companies. Most prices were too high and the staff impersonal. We were so pleased with Takes the Cake for several reasons; her prices beat the other bids, she was very pleasant to work with, the cake was absolutely beautiful, and it tasted great - very moist and delicious. She delivered the cake right on time and it looked just like the picture we sent. I would recommend Takes the Cake to anyone needing a special cake. I was pleasantly surprised that she set aside an extra box with a cake for the bride and groom to have on their first anniversary. She was very professional. Thank you Millie.

Millie did a great job. She was very patient as we looked through her cake design and options. She made open suggestions with the plan we had in mind. Millie was very professional during our interactions with her. The cakes arrived on time and were very well done. On top of all that, the cakes tasted wonderful!

Millie is fantastic! I found her on the internet while planning my daughter's wedding. We met with her in her home office, myself, my daughter, future son in law and his mother. She had several taste samples ready of both cake, and filling options. She listened to my daughter as to flavors and styles, and we looked at a huge variety of cakes until my daughter found just what she wanted. We selected a 3 tier lemon, with a scrumptious raspberry filling. The groom's cake was a chocolate, with rich chocolate frosting and huge chocolate dipped strawberries "dressed" in tuxedos. Both were beautiful, moist and delicious. We received many compliments at the reception. Mill is so easy to work with, and I'm glad we found her!

Millie made us the MOST BEAUTIFUL wedding cake we'd ever seen!! She listened to our ideas, threw in some fabulous suggestions, and the result was stunning. Many guests commented about how they normally don't like the taste of wedding cake, but that this one was delicious! Honestly, we hate fondant, but love the clean look it gives. Millie was able to create an incredibly smooth surface without using fondant. She also double-stacked the layers so that there was chocolate and white cake in each slice. It was so perfect we almost didn't want to cut into it! Best of all, she was completely affordable.

Mille did such an amazing job on our cakes for our wedding. Everyone loved them and wanted to know where we got our cake. Mille was very friendly and easy to work with and made my wedding go smooth with an on time delivery. She even was willing to meet with me after work as I work in healthcare and have an awkward schedule. I would highly recommend takes the cakes any day and will use her again.

Millie did such an amazing job on wedding cake. I arranged a day full of cake tasting appointments for my husband and I; Millie was the first on our list. After meeting with Millie and tasting her amazing creations, we canceled all of our other appointments. I ordered a 4-tier butter cream icing cake in layered of French vanilla and chocolate. I found a picture online of a cake I liked, I brought it to Millie and she executed the design and detail exactly to the picture. Millie offered a very flexible payment plan option, which was wonderful. Millie was very personable and genuine and baked such an amazing wedding cake.

Our wedding cake from Takes the Cakes by Millie was perfect! The design was beautiful, the cake was delicious, and the price was very reasonable. I have to say that Millie was not my first choice. I was a little hesitant to use with a baker that worked out of their home, so I went with a baker that had a store front. Two month before the wedding that baked closed their store and disappeared with my deposit. Searching for a new baker I came across Millie’s website again and the calendar on her site (which by the way I love that she posts a calendar of her availability) showed her as available for my wedding date. I emailed her to schedule a consultation and tasting appointment and she responded to me within hours, not days. The appointment was scheduled for me, my husband, and my mother in Millie’s home. I was worried that a meeting in someone’s home might be awkward but I was pleasantly surprised when Millie greeted us at the door and took us into her very comfortable and professional home office. We tasted cakes, icing, and fillings, which were all super yummy. Millie even packed up some extra to take back to my husband who was not able to make it to the meeting. The day of the wedding Millie showed up exactly when she said she would with exactly what we had ordered. She placed the cake on the cake table, she let my dad put the cake topper on and used some of the extra flowers to decorate the cake because I had forgot to prepare something ahead of time. Our experience with Takes the Cakes by Millie was wonderful and we would recommend her to anyone looking for a beautiful and tasty cake.

Millie provided us with quality service. The cake was delicious and beautiful. Millie even called us a couple of days prior to the wedding to make sure everything was on schedule and who her contact would be at our wedding venue.

I honestly can not say enough great things about Millie. My cake was gorgeous and delicious! Everyone loved it. She may have been a little more expensive than some of the others we talked to but it was worth it. Besides she's a small business owner and I feel like they usually care a little more about their clients.

Millie was great to work with! She was responsive and flexible and the cakes were absoutely DELICIOUS! We orderd a brides cake (white cake and chcolate cake with buttercream frosting) and a grooms cake (all chocolate). We had about 115 people at our wedding and enough cake for 160 servings, all that was left was about 20 servings (tops). The cake was moist, the frosting was TO DIE FOR..everything was PERFECT! After the wedding all of my coworkers and friends couldn't stop raving about how good the cake was--one person even told me it was the best wedding cake they have ever had! I would recommend Mille in a heartbeat and I will be ordering more cakes from her in the future!

Millie made our idea of a classical, Harley motorcycle wedding cake come to light. Through emails, phone calls, and texts she created our vision of silver ghost flames. And the chocolate and white cake were delicious! It's been a week and I've been eating a piece everyday. Her cakes and flexible, professional service can't be beat for the price. Thanks Millie!

I sampled cake at several places in the DFW area. None of them gave the 'wow' factor that Millie's cakes did. My husband and I were so impressed! She specializes in quality vs. quantity of flavors, icings, etc. If you want AWESOME cake that is beautifully decorated- this is the place! Some cake shops have too many choices so they didn't put effort in to making any of the cakes TASTE GOOD!
I gave her a picture of what I wanted her to create, and it turned out even more beautifully than I imagined! Guests raved about how yummy the cake was- definitely not your average wedding cake that a lot of guests come to expect. The groom's cake was delicious as well and looked great!
She was prompt for our meeting and with delivery.
She even had us cake to enjoy the night of the wedding with strawberries, etc. which was a nice touch when we got back to the room.... :)
Fair pricing as well. Couldn't recommend her more highly for this special time in your life!
I'll definitely be contacting Mille on our anniversary for some more of our yummy cake- Our freezer died recently and we lost our 'couple's cake'. Looking forward to eating it again!

If I had a dollar for every time some said "this is the best wedding cake I've ever had" ... I'd be rich! Seriously, hands down the best cake. Not only was the taste amazing, the details, and the professionalism and service Millie provided. She is very sweet and makes you feel like you can go to her whenever needed. She was WONDERFUL!! My cakes were GORGEOUS and just what I wanted I gave her a months notice and she did better than I expected.. I was SO picky about the cake I wanted and she showed me one picture and it was THE CAKE!! I didnt eat any cake except the cake taste with my husband and I but everyone told me the cake was delicious.. I would recommend Millie to everyone. And she is VERY resonably priced..

I'll admit, I was nervous about talking with a baker about what I wanted for the wedding cake - I had it all planned out in my head, and I hoped that they could follow my plan to a T. From the moment I walked in, I felt compleetly at ease with Millie, and talking with her was like chatting with an old friend.

She showed me some of her past work to see if there was something I liked, and I completely fell in love with one of the cakes she had done. It was just too beautiful to pass up! She asked if I had found a florist yet, and I hadn't, and she said just to keep in touch with her so that she could decorate the cake with real flowers. She gave me some incredibly delicious samples, and we chatted for a long while about life, love, and cake. It was just wonderful!

You know how people say the week leading up to the wedding is the craziest? Well, it is, and I forgot to keep in touch with Millie about the flowers and the cake topper. As it turns out, my mom did the flowers for the reception, and we sent some of those flowers along with the cake toppers over to Millie the day before the wedding. I felt so awful for holding out on her, but I hoped she had time to use some of the flowers or at least just the toppers.

The next day, walking into the reception with my husband and seeing that cake was one of the best moments of the day. I was in awe of how beautiful that cake looked! Millie had arranged the flowers just so, and the toppers were absolutely perfect. I wanted to hug it, and then devour it. When it was time to cut the cake, I couldn't wait! The flavors were just amazing, and I wish I had more time to eat it. Thank goodness Millie had a box set up for us to take the top layer in at the end of the day.

In short, Millie is a fabulous and wonderfully talented woman. She makes you feel like you're her own daughter, that she would do anything to make your day special. It's people like her that made my wedding day so beautiful. I cannot thank her enough!

Millie was the absolute best vendor to deal with...so helpful and really knew the vision my daughter had for her wedding cake. She also did the cake for the shower and it was absolutely spectacular! Can't say enough about how wonderful she is!

There is so much that I could say about Millie and her cakes but you really should just go see for yourself. I told her my theme and some of my favorite things and she ran with it. I even through her a last minuet curve ball and she pulled it off flawlessly. Millie is one very tallented proffesional and she will take excellent care of both you and your groom.

Really great flavor and service at an excellent price. Nancy uses real butter - not lard - which is important for flavor. Our cake was gobbled up even though we almost had 2 slices per person. Nancy was very careful too, that everything worked out well and was co-ordinated in advance. I am a very tough reviewer and Nancy was my best vendor. The only thing I could have done better was discuss the design more and not worry about flavor - with Nancy the flavor is slam dunk.

Millie was so wonderful and professional. Our wedding and grooms cake was so beautiful and delicious, all of our guests wanted to know where we purchased them from. Such a great experience working with Millie at Takes the Cakes!

We chose Takes the Cakes by Millie because we tasted her cake at a Fairy Tale Manor open house and it was incredible. Her cakes are very reasonably priced and our cake turned out beautiful. Millie was a pleasure to work with and even worked with our venue to coordinate delivery. We were very very happy with our wedding cake!

Millie was wonderful to work with. Her cakes are beautiful, and they are very good. We sent her a picture of my husbands airplane, and she did an amazing job replicating it for the groom's cake.

Millie met with us at length to set up our order for both cakes. She is very professional and talented. She helped us select our sizes and had a tasting to determine what kind of icing and fillings we liked best. When we saw our cakes of course we were thrilled. They were beautiful and delicious too!I might also mention that she doesn't skimp to make sure she has enough cake, there is plenty for everyone to enjoy!
The prices were so reasonable and that was for 150 people.

I honestly wasn't too concerned about my wedding cake before I started looking. My husband nor myself are big cake eaters so we truly weren't too worried about it. But when I met with Millie all that changed. She created a spectacular cake for us that was not only delicious but more amazing than any cake I've seen. It was one of the things I was most excited about when the day cake. Thank you Millie!!!

Millie's cakes are absolutely stunning. I told her what I had in mind but when I saw my cake it was more than I imagined. Did I mention how delicious it was? The price made it even more spectacular!

Both the wedding cake and the groom's cake were absolutely delicious and decorated beautifully! The guests raved about the flavors with most saying it was the best wedding cake they had ever tasted.

Millie was wonderful to work with, we'll definitely recommend her, and we've found a great baker for future cakes!

I would highly recommend Millie at Takes the Cakes!! Not only is she wonderful to work with and very professional, but her cakes are OUTSTANDING!! One of my bridesmaids was getting married the weekend after me. After tasting my bridal cake, she was thinking that she should have had a different baker for her own because the taste was just to die for!! I definately would recommend her services to anyone! We will be utilizing her for cakes in the years to come!! Thanks Millie!! :)

What can we say, we tasted a lot of cake. Millie and her husband had not only some of the best tasting cake, they also had a winning attitude when we met them. When we interviewed them we did not feel like just another customer, we felt like they were going to take good care of us. Both cakes were delivered exactly as ordered and tasted wonderful. The custom groom's cake was a hit, and I might add a bit of a trick to make ... but it was awesome.

Millie handled all the dealings with the florist and worked seamlessly with her to get the cake topper just right. We would highly recommend. The price was also right!

Millie, the baker, was amazing. She designed custom cakes that looked and tasted amazing. She built a base for our cake topper and of course delivered and set up everything.

She took her time to show us different styles and worked around our schedule for the tasting and payments. I would highly recommend her.

Wow! Our wedding and grooms cake were so amazing. My wedding cake was so beautiful and I coulnt have asked for more. Millie was so great too. She came and delivered our cakes during a flip of our room since we had the wedding and ceremony in the same place. She was great, and her cakes are just to die for! You won't be disappointed here!

Millie scheduled a tasting with us in her home. The samples were delicious. The wedding cake itself was beautiful and scrumptious. She provided an additional "sweetheart" cake for the bride and groom in a separate box. There were no problems with the delivery or set up.

Don't bother find another cake company. I can say from their rating they are awesome, so much so that you won't get your date. I am giving almost a two year advanced notice and they said they are booked.
