Wow! I’m thoroughly impressed by Sylvia and her team. She is extremely professional and amazing at her craft. Our wedding photos look like they are straight from Vogue magazine!

We received a first look at a handful of our wedding photos 2 days after the event! It was great to have some immediately after while the energy was still so high.
During the wedding, I could see Sylvia and team having so much fun suggesting different poses, locations and styles!
Despite the heat that day and my eagerness to get back to my guests, having a photo shoot with my husband right after the ceremony was one of the many favorite parts of my wedding day because Sylvia made it so fun!

Josue Badilla is one of the photographers on Sylvia's team and he is the best. He's extremely talented and his attention to detail is unmatched. He is creative, a critical thinker, quick on his feet, charismatic, accommodating, and so kind. He will go above and beyond and his work is simply stunning. Sylvia and her team were an absolute blast to work with. They made us feel so comfortable and provided great direction. After researching multiple photographers I always kept coming back to Sylvia's work—her photos are stunning and still look so natural. She's able to capture amazing moments between couples as well as families and friends. We definitely recommend hiring her for all your wedding/event photography needs! She also turned around an extensive preview of photos only a couple days after our wedding, which was so much fun to look through!!

Photographer With Passion for her Craft!
We found Sylvia through our wedding planner at Tropical occasions. We chose her because her photos on Instagram were phenomenal... and we are so glad we did. Not only was Sylvia and her team professional and efficient, but they exuded positive vibes all day long and put us at ease. Its clear that she has a passion for her craft and knows exactly what she is doing! We hung around at sunset for magic hour shots that are simply amazing. Sylvia captures light beautifully, knows hoe to frame the photo to get the moment and the environment here in Costa Rica. We would highly recommend!

We are so happy that we chose Sylvia as our wedding photographer!! She did such an amazing job and we love how our photos turned out. They caught the emotions we wanted and really listened to what was important to us. We were also worried about finding a photographer who knew how to photograph an interracial couple well and she did a great job and we’ve found it’s not easy for most photographers. Super talented!!

Easily the best decision!
As a professional wedding photographer myself, I was very picky about who I wanted to have photograph my wedding. We are from the states and were planning an elopement to Costa Rica. I had figured I would end up having to fly a photographer out from somewhere else to capture our big day but was so relieved to find Sylvia! I loved her work instantly! It's so clean and timeless, exactly what I had been wanting. After contacting her I realized that she is also very sweet and so professional! It was an instant booking and I am so happy with this decision to of hired her! Not only was she professional, kind and insanely talented, but I also feel that she went out of her way to help me bring my vision to life! Sylvia and her team were incredible! I can't say enough great things about them. My husband and I really are not big on taking pictures but she made it a lot of fun. She also captured a lot of precious candid moments that we will cherish forever. She was finished with the album so much quicker than I anticipated and I really don't have a single bad thing to say about the pictures. They delivered a big variety of pictures and have so many cute unique poses to help make incredible pictures. There is no way anyone could be disappointed in their work! When picking a photographer I did lots of research. I looked at many websites, instagrams, facebooks, and reviews. When I was told about Sylvia I stopped looking. The reviews alone were why we picked her. We were in contact throughout COVID and she always was excited about our big day. We did not actually meet Sylvia until our wedding day. Even meeting for just that first time it was effortless. She was very professional and fun. Our session was perfect and she knew exactly what we wanted. She made sure to keep asking if there was anything else. We received our sneak peak within 48 hours!!!! I was beyond impressed! THE PHOTOS!!!! Man were they beautiful. She captured the light and the best backdrops a girl could ask for. I cannot wait to see the rest of them as I know I won’t be able to choose our favorites. I know that when we go back to Costa Rica and need photos taken, I will definitely be reaching out to her again.

Stunning & Captured Every Moment!
I was so happy to have met Sylvia early in the planning process of our wedding! She was an amazing resource for vendors and I often sought out her expertise. She is confident and so experienced, a true master of her craft and her passion shows in the end result. We did a small engagement photo shoot the day before the wedding and I thought that was really helpful for us getting comfortable in front of a camera. She gave us good advice for the next day so we felt more fluid and natural. I was so appreciative to have her calming presence around in my anxious moments. I was truly taken back by our photos and couldn’t believe that was us! She was so quick in getting our photos back too- even sent us a sample the day after our wedding! Sylvia came highly recommended by our wedding planner and after scrolling through her website and Instagram page, I knew I wanted to hire her! We were told Sylvia books up fast, so we booked her over a year in advance of our wedding. Sylvia worked with us to create the best photo package for our needs and give us exactly what we wanted. I did not meet Sylvia until the day of the wedding, but once I did I felt like I already knew her. Sylvia was so so sweet and so much fun to work with. Sylvia did such an amazing job capturing our wedding, from the first look, to the detail photos, to the party on the dance floor. The day after our wedding, we received a preview of about 150 photos from Sylvia. We got the full gallery back within 4 months. She has such a quick turn around time! Sylvia beautifully captured every aspect of our wedding and I am so happy with how the photos turned out.

My husband and I normally hate taking photos, and we had yet to actually like a picture of us until we met Sylvia... Sylvia made us feel the opposite on our wedding day! We felt beyond comfortable with her and her team, and there wasn't one photo that we didn't absolutely LOVE. Picture Perfect!
Sylvia is the best photographer in all of Costa Rica. She came highly recommended from our wedding planner and we were told she was so much fun to work with. We booked her right away and also decided to come out soon after and do an engagement shoot with her. Leading up to the engagement shoot, she gave us suggestions on what to wear and where we would shoot. We are so thankful we did the engagement shoot because Sylvia got to know us personally, we got the ‘camera nerves’ out of the way, and it made our wedding day shoot that much more special. I was so excited to be reunited and see Sylvia on our wedding day. We knew the funny cues she would give us and just being in front of her camera was so much more natural. I was truly sad to say goodbye to her at the end of the night.
We received our wedding pictures within 4 weeks of our wedding and I can’t stop looking at every picture. She captured every moment so perfectly and my husband and I will forever be able to relive our wedding through her pictures. Even the reception pictures, we can hear every song being played with each picture she took! Thank you for capturing every special moment of the night. I can't say enough good things about Sylvia and her work. From the beginning, she was very quick to respond and thorough in answering my questions. The day of the wedding went very smoothly. We had a large group at our destination wedding (43 total) and she did a great job of keeping everyone on track with the time and kept pictures moving. Her photos were absolutely beautiful and we love them so much! We also did a "trash the dress" session the next day and those turned out amazing as well and she had a great local spot that she took us to. Sylvia is excellent at capturing the natural light of a location and using the surroundings to complement the photos.
The value is fantastic, the service and professionalism is excellent, she is great to work with, and the photos turn out beautiful. She also recommended my hair/makeup artist to me who also did a fantastic job. I'd highly recommend hiring Sylvia for anyone's photography needs in Costa Rica!

Sylvia is absolutely amazing! My husband and I can't believe how lucky we were to have found her. Neither of us are used to being at the center of attention and thought we would be awkward in front of a camera but Sylvia put both of us at ease almost instantly. She helped coordinate the day perfectly so we could utilize all of the amazing light from that day and made sure we were always listened to and got all the photos we wanted. She was so easy to trust and we are so glad we did. We have some truly spectacular pictures as a result! We also couldn't believe how quickly we got our photos! We had a large preview before we even left Costa Rica, and got our remaining gallery less than a month later. When we were choosing photographers for the wedding, let's face it, you want it to be perfect. Sylvia not only was professional but she was also compassionate. She took pictures while helping my wife get ready so later I was able to see all that went into her looking so beautiful that day. But more importantly, she has a sense of what types of photos would look best. She also let us be us and just have fun while doing it. I have seen weddings where the photographer was so serious that you forget why you are taking them. She actually took the time to enjoy the moment with us and we REALLY love the photos. After our wedding, guests at the resort continued to tell us how beautiful we looked taking pictures and how much fun we looked like we were having. Truth is, we really were having fun with Sylvia and her assistant. They were fantastic and you would be doing yourself a disservice if you pick another photographer. Whenever we show people our wedding photos, they stop and their jaws just drop. We are so happy we choose Sylvia.

When we got engaged I wanted to go somewhere no one else really goes and go somewhere we had never been! When I found mil Besos That specialized in weddings in Costa Rica I knew I wanted to get married there : the beaches were amazing , it was unlike anything I had ever seen before plus there was monkeys on the resort! And we both love animals !
When we were picking a photographer I had looked through a few peoples work but the way Sylvia worked just stood out to me it was amazing how she could make her subjects look! I still get compliments on my wedding photos to this day! She really captured the moment and got amazing shots of us (that I’ve already started to frame around the house ).
When we stayed at the Westin we went to the monkey sanctuary, zip lining, and snorkelling. The resort is the best resort I’ve ever been to it was such a dream!
Sylvia captured every moment of the our elopement perfectly - the lighting , directions ,etc all flowed so naturally and none of it felt posed (as most traditional wedding photos do).
I can’t wait until we go back to Costa Rica as it was such an amazing place !

Absolutely LOVED working with Sylvia & her team!! Living in the US & planning a wedding in a different country, responsiveness is HUGE for me as you're working with different time zones etc. Sylvia was great in this department which made the planning smoother. Although I speak Spanish, Sylvia note only speaks but also writes PERFECT English which was helpful for me as I communicate in email much easier in English. Her pictures were gorgeous and great quality--she also have a very quick turn around time considering the amount of photos she provides. The site she gives with the pictures is super easy to navigate.
Sylvia is super cute & fun making her a joy to have around during the time we got ready with the bridesmaids. I would be cautious of how much time you have for your pictures and ensure you get a list of what pictures you want to ensure are taken. They print the list off and go off of your recommendations. All in all, if I were to do it all over again, I would use Sylvia & team for sure!

Selecting Sylvia as our photographer was the best decision. She was truly amazing. It was easy to communicate with her over the phone during the planning phases. When Sylvia and her team showed up the day of the wedding they were very professional yet inviting and warm. There was no awkward moments or issues and every special moment of our day was captured. Sylvia did a great job of helping me time manage my shots. As my time with Sylvia was winding down, she graciously pulled me aside and explained that she could spend the last hour photographing guests eating dinner or we could chose to move the cake cutting ceremony to capture that moment (she also would have extended her time if I had asked). I chose to cut the cake before dinner and capture that special moment, that way the cake was ready to be served as dessert. I highly recommend Sylvia for any special event!

Our property management company referred us to Sylvia and we are so fortunate that they did!
We arranged the outdoor, sunset, beach photos for our family of six with Sylvia via email prior to our trip. We were so lucky that she had an opening in her schedule during our stay. She was so professional and friendly throughout our experience with her. We knew upfront what time we would be meeting and which beaches near our accommodations we could pick from. I think we decided the day prior exactly which beach we'd meet at and it worked out perfectly.
On the day of our photo session, Sylvia was already there when we arrived. She met us and each of our four children ages 18, 15, 8 and 6 and got to know us and explained her ideas for our time together. I had one photo request (all of us in height order) and she took care of that pretty early on in the session and took time and care getting the shot . She photographed us naturally walking and being on the beach with an eye for "that" shot for each of us that would capture us in a candid moment. Sylvia was responsive to our requests, gave clear direction to us in what she was going to do for a series of shots. She had ideas but was also willing to go wherever the shoot led us in terms of how the kids would be organized, whether they splashed in the water or wanted to climb the rocks. The shoot went very smoothly and everyone enjoyed it... which is a rarity with four kids, and that is all due to the genuine kindness and professionalism that Sylvia exhibited throughout our time together. You can tell from her photos online that she is talented... what you can't see yet is what kind of magic she will work for you.
Once the session was over, she sent us a few preview shots and so far that's mostly I've shared on Facebook with family and friends and _everyone_ has raved about the quality of Sylvia's work and the beauty of the shots that she took for us.

Sylvia did an amazing job for our wedding and the pictures came out fabulous! We are so happy with her completeness in telling our wedding story through the pictures from start to finish. We opted against having any professional wedding videos and with Sylvia we didn't need to! The problem now is how to choose which pictures to enlarge as we would never have enough room in our house for the ones we love! We love so many and they are all so special. Sylvia hands down captured our wedding in such a beautiful way we were overwhelmed. We didn't hire a videographer but it wasn't necessary bc Sylvia captured all the moments we were able to re-live it. She was accepting of poses I wanted to have taken and asked who everyone at the wedding party was so she could familiarize herself with who she's taking pictures. We felt like she believes more in action shots and not a lot of set up shots which was perfect for us bc that's what we wanted. And her photo-shop skills! Our wedding was on a hilltop house overlooking the ocean and there was a massive phone tower in our view. Somehow she was able to eliminate the tower in almost all of the photos.

Our wedding in Costa Rica was perfect for so many reasons, Sylvia being one of them. Not only did she create incredible photographs, but she felt like a friend by the end of the evening. I can't say enough about her customer service. She wasn't watching the clock, but instead, took pictures until she got all the great shots she wanted of our incredible sunset. She gave us more than an hour extra of what we expected. We got married at Andaz (incredible place) and after taking pictures at the resort, Sylvia was kind enough to take us in her car to a beach that has incredible sunsets.
Sylvia was a perfect mix of kind, professional and fun. Our photographs are amazing --- the only tough part is narrowing down our favorites to decide what we actually want to print. I 100% recommend Sylvia as your wedding photographer.

My husband and I just received our gorgeous photos from our wedding in Playa Flamingo a month ago and they are absolutely breathtaking. Sylvia captured our magical day perfectly. Sylvia made us feel comfortable throughout the day, and gave great suggestions for poses with options to choose from. It was clear that she was very well organized as she asked up front which guests were from each family and scouted the location so she could plan her shoot.
During the ceremony, Sylvia was working against the clock with difficult backlighting as our wedding was at sunset. She was extremely efficient, working quickly to get the shots she needed, and she and her assistant blended in very well without getting in the way. Even with bright sun behind us the photos look fantastic.

We booked with Sylvia while we were on our honeymoon in Costa Rica. I really wanted to capture some beautiful pictures while on our honeymoon and knew that if I didn't do it I would regret it. She was recommended to be by the even planner at Andaz, in Costa Rica, and after I saw her work online I knew that she was the one I wanted to photograph our wedding! Sylvia Guardia was a dream to work with for our Costa Rica wedding at Hotel Riu Guanacaste! We knew that it was a risk to have your wedding on the beach during rainy season but we were pretty laid back about the situation so we went with it. It ended up pouring rain all afternoon. Despite the rain limiting our picture location options, our pictures turned out amazing! Sylvia had great ideas to make the most of the space that we had and was not afraid to get creative with us. After the ceremony, we even went to the beach and got some really cool pictures in the dark drizzle. Sylvia was very familiar with the resort and was able to meet me at our suite without me having to do anything to find her. Also, she was very flexible throughout the planning process as our ceremony time changed a few times. Overall, my husband and I were very happy with her professionalism and her product. We would definitely recommend her again and again!

We used Sylvia to do an engagement shoot at the Andaz Papagayo Resort in Costa Rica in September of 2016. I contacted her about 6 weeks before our scheduled arrival and asked about her availability. Sylvia was quick to respond, flexible and very professional. On the day off, she arrived on time, met us in the lobby of the hotel, and we quickly started on photo adventure. Having worked at the venue before, she knew secret spots to take us to and was very patient and encouraging as we posed for photo after photo. Post session, we received 10 preview shots within 24 hours and approximately 100 edited photos in total after waiting less than 1 month. The pictures turned out lovely and we were very pleased and happy with our experience with her. Because of these aforementioned comments, I would not hesitate to recommend her to any bride, couple or family looking to capture memorable photos in the Papagayo area!

Sylvia was not available for my wedding day, but I loved her work so much, I asked if she could still come the day before my wedding to take pictures of my husband and I and our family. She was so wonderful to work with overall and her pictures are gorgeous! She guided both my husband and I in effortless ways that made the shoot fun and relaxed. Our family has tons of children, and she was great working with and capturing all of their little spirits as well! We were thrilled to have her take our pictures and portraits of our relatives that will stay with us forever! Beautiful work!!!! Thank you!

As son as we got engaged I was desperate to decide on 3 things; location, music and photographer. The moment we saw Sylvia's photos we were in love! I booked her immediately and even though I am from Costa Rica I was not able to meet her until my wedding day, which was making me ver anxious. As soon as she walked through the door I started feeling at ease, she made me feel calm even though I was very jittery. She was amazing at our pre-ceremony photos, during the ceremony and all throughout the night, she made us feel comfortable, relaxed and truly enjoy our photo session. Needless to say when I received the preview of our potos I knew I had made the right choice!!!

She is professional, organized, timely, very responsive, fulfilled all of our special requests, experienced with all types of lighting/weather, discrete during our wedding ceremony, a very sweet person overall and has great recommendations for other vendors too. Sylvia was amazing. The consummate professional, she was able to take spectacular pictures without us even realizing that she was snapping the camera. We had just taken family pictures a few months prior, so I was hesitant to spend the money to have them again but wanted to take advantage of being in beautiful Costa Rica. I'm so glad that we did! We will treasure the pictures she took for years to come. She was right on time to take the pictures, and she sent the link to the pictures within the exact timeframe she promised. She's great!

Sylvia was by far the best photographer I've had the chance to work with. We took our engagement photos with her on the beaches of Costa Rica and can say we felt so comfortable with her. Not once did we feel that we were "posing" everything was very comfortable and natural. Her views of her surroundings were unbelievable and they absolutely show in her photos. I was very happy with how they came out! Would recommend her anyday and not from around here with the trip ;)!

We cannot recommend Sylvia enough! She photographed our engagement and our wedding with the most beautiful results. She is easygoing and really gets what you want and who you are as a couple. She captures such happiness and joy. She also avoids doing cliche poses or shots and focuses on the natural relationship of the couple. You are making the wrong decision if you pick anyone other than Sylvia to capture your special moments. We will use her in all of our celebrations to come!

I had a destination wedding in Costa Rica so did not have the pleasure of meeting her before the big day, rather I had only her portfolio pictures to peruse and knew I would be in good hands! she is a complete pro and her kind, relaxed demeanor immediately put me at ease. I couldn't have been happier with our photos! We hired Sylvia to photograph our destination wedding without ever having met her. We chose her because her work is beautiful, but she was also a pleasure to work with. I cannot express enough how happy my husband and I are with the pictures Sylvia took of our wedding! It was very important to us to find someone who could capture our wedding in a way that truly reflected who we are as a couple. Sylvia was able to do this in a spectacular fashion. We had never met her before because we had a destination wedding, but she was more than we could have hoped for. Our photos are amazing and we are so happy with the whole experience. We have had nothing but wonderful compliments on our wedding pictures and though scenery has a lot to do with that, so much of it is because of Sylvia. She did a spectacular job and was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. She is extremely professional and incredibly talented. We have many creative photographs that are beautiful simply as pieces of art, above and beyond a "wedding photo." I love that the photos do not look staged, fake, or cliche - Sylvia created lovely images that capture the beauty of our location and the excitement and romance of the wedding day.

We hired Sylvia to do our wedding photos at Cala Luna right by the beach. She arrived after my hair and most of my makeup was done. Sylvia took a few pictures of my hair and makeup before heading outside in the Costa Rican heat. There was one image in particular everyone fell in love with of me getting ready. It was a side image taken off my reflection in a large circular mirror while I was looking down. She was creative and very professional. We took many pictures of us together walking down a beautiful tropical path leading to a path of rose petals on the ground and to an arch. Our ceremony was just during sunset and the photos with that in the background along with the beach waves and the beautiful tropical flowers on our arch were stunning in the photos. I definitely recommend her for wedding photos.

Sylvia's communication was great as it isn't always easy working with someone in a different country; however, she was very professional and her response time was fast! Sylvia was very kind and professional yet she did not take any photos of our guests. All the photos from our reception are candida. None we can put in a frame. There are zero pictures of myself or the groom with our guests at the reception or during cocktail hour. There are zero photos of the best man and made of honor speeches. She did amazing job capturing our moments during the ceremony but other than that we have no memory of the fun celebration. Very disappointed.
