Delicious!

Swiss is honestly the best bakery in the New Orleans area! They were the first cake we tasted and none of the others even compared!!
So amazing and customer service was superb! I'll be stopping to get petit fours for years to come!

Swiss was recommended by Bonnie at House of Broel. Lauren was very accommodating and so easy to work with. Both our wedding cake and grooms cake were delicious. All of our guests commented on how good our cakes were.

the cake was beautiful and delicious. the staff were professional and made sure everything was coordinated with the restaurant so that we didn't have to worry about a thing. also the price was very reasonable. highly recommend.

I honestly do not know why you would look anywhere else for a wedding cake. Swiss is an New Orleans staple, and will make any bride's vision come to light. They were so professional, and amazing to work with for my April 22nd wedding. All I literally had to do, was pick out my cake and get married! Everything else was taken care of, and that really means a lot - especially for someone that was planning their own wedding, from out-of-town! Also, as a tip to anyone looking - one huge advantage of going with Swiss versus another bakery - is that they have worked with practically every venue in town and because of that I didn't have to worry about having them connect and coordinate with cake delivery and setup the day of. That alone to me is priceless - the cake is pretty amazing too!

Swiss Confectionery is a New Orleans staple. My wedding cake tasted like a little piece of heaven. My cake was light and not overly sweet. The wedding cake was beautifully decorated. Swiss Confectionery did not disappoint. Everyone in New Orleans knows that Swiss has good cakes but it is the customer service that exceeded my expectations. I sent my mother in law to choose our cake and keep it a surprise until our reception. The staff was able to help her choose a design and filling. They even helped her locate the cake pulls that she had to have. My sister was impressed that the cake came along with an escort when it was delivered. The attention to detail really makes Swiss Confectionery top notch. I can't wait to use them again.

Swiss Confectionery prepared our son's Groom's Cake. We had ordered a Texas Longhorn-shaped cake with the particular color of burnt orange. They nailed it. We received many compliments from guests on how delicious the cake was as well. We are from out-of-state, but I would certainly use them again if ever in New Orleans.

Swiss made my wedding cake and my groom cake. My wedding cake was beautiful. It was exactly how I wanted, and it tasted so moist and delicious. My husband got a LSU themed grooms cake and it was exactly what he wanted as well. I didn't get to try the groom's cake but someone told me it was a little dry. Overall, I loved the service and attitudes of the workers, and I was happy with the way my cakes turned out.

We absolutely loved our cakes! I was able to take one of their designs, pick my own colors (which they provide color chips to choose from, clipped a sample, and saved with our order), make a few adjustments, and make it ours! Having some artistic background, I especially appreciated the color chips as it allowed me to pick specific shades rather than just saying blue and purple. And the cakes tasted just as I remembered from the tasting.

If you are looking for great service, great cake, and a great experience: go to Swiss Confectionery! They may not be as big name brand as others in the New Orleans area (or at least they weren't to me before), but Swiss Confectionery provides a great taste for a great price, and doesn't nickle-and-dime you. Their pricing is very simple and easy to understand.

The amount we spent with our vendor includes both our wedding cake and grooms cake with about 150 servings combined.

(P.S. I did also have a tasting with Gambino's on Veterans in Metairie, had a bad experience, wrote them a review and they had it taken down because I couldn't provide a receipt of service - I didn't buy anything because of the bad service!)

We knew we wants to use Swiss from the beginning, it was only a matter of tasting their cakes, fillings, and how we wanted it to look! We went in for a cake tasting, choose traditional with a strawberry filling and we were NOT disappointed. The service during the cake tasting wasn't the best, as we waiting around for a while, but our service with them after that was fine. And the cake was delicious! We also weren't big on having a cake topper, so they created a beautiful gold bow made of fondant to go on top. They incorporated gold ribbon we wanted as well, which we purchased from Michaels. Our cake was perfect for our 150 guests!

Swiss did an amazing job with our wedding cake. While trying to decide which baker to hire, everyone kept telling us to go with Swiss, and we are glad we did! The value was definitely the best out there too. They were very reliable and responsive and I did't have any issues with the delivery of our cake (even though our wedding was on a Sunday, when they are typically closed). I would highly recommend!

EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS!! I live in Dallas, grew up in New Orleans, and just had to have the New Orleans wedding! I have had several birthday cakes from Swiss so I knew that they made cakes that taste awesome! Lauren at Swiss made everything so simple and fun! We worked together through email, phone and photos. My wedding cake was absolutely beautiful, the grooms cake was perfect, and both were so delicious! Thank you Swiss for everything! My guests raved about both cakes for days following the event!!

Delicious wedding cake!

The cake wasn't that big of a deal to me and it was apart of our catering package with Joel Catering. We went in there and I told her that I didn't know what I wanted, she showed me some pictures and I literally picked it out in 2 minutes. The cake was simple and beautiful. The taste of the cake was amazing. I highly recommend the raspberry filling.

My wedding cake was the biggest surprise of my wedding. Swiss exceed my expectations above and beyond. My cake from Swiss was included as part of my catering package with Joe's Catering at the Hampton Inn Convention Center, and I am so happy with the caterer's choice. I had no real clue what kind of wedding cake I wanted, but when I went into the store there were pictures of previous cakes. After, I left and placed my ordered I had a general idea of what I wanted but all the details weren't complete. After some time I sketched a picture if my wedding cake, called Swiss and emailed it to them. On the day of my wedding I was so shocked to see how it turned out, it was perfect! The cake also tasted great. My wedding guest mentioned to me how the cake tasted. The next time I am in New Orleans I will buy a cake from Swiss just because. Highly recommended!

Everyone at Swiss did a wonderful job for our wedding! It was very helpful because they have a partnership with Pat O's on the River venue, so we had a deposit for our wedding cake. I would definitely recommend especially for anyone planning a destination wedding or event. They were great at communicating over the phone and emailing. They made everything work out just how we wanted it regarding the taste, look of the cake, and pricing. Our guests would not stop saying how delicious it was! We also kept our top layer and can't wait to enjoy it on our one year anniversary. Thank you Swiss!

I've heard many people claim that Swiss Confectionery has the best cakes in in New Orleans. Now I know how they earned the reputation. Not only was our wedding cake extremely delicious, it was beyond beautiful! They are very happy to take the time to talk to you to see what will make you happy. They were so easy to deal with and they made and designed our cake exactly the way we wanted. Excellent business! Professional and friendly customer service! Highly recommend. I will be going back for more cakes in the future. A+++++

Swiss did a fantastic job with my wedding cake and Groom's cake. We sent a picture of a roast beef po-boy to Swiss and when we arrived at our Reception, we were shocked at how realistic the cake looked. I am super impressed by their work and would highly recommend them. Both cakes were moist and tasted delicious!

Wonderful wedding cake and groom cake!!! The wedding cake was designed beautiful and made the cover of a book. The groom cake was just what we wanted and was so good we had none to take home, my poor groom didn't even get to taste his cake! Best cake in town!!!

We ordered both a wedding cake and a groom's cake from Swiss Confectionery. We went in for cake sampling months before the wedding and was very satisfied. Megan was very friendly and professional. The groom's cake that I requested was definitely non-standard - it was a weapon system that my now husband and I used to work on together in the military. They did such a fabulous job that my husband was blown away by the surprise. I sent them pictures and they created a cake that looked like it! That, and the cake was so delicious. We took some of it home and it was still absolutely delicious days after.

The best surprise for wedding and grooms cake. I let them decide the decoration of my wedding cake just because I had no clue what I wanted for design. I could have not been any happier. With my cake. They asked what I like and didn't like. What my colors are for the wedding and put them into the cake.

Swiss provided my wedding cake and groom's cake. I wish I had the photo right now to show you. I literally went in with a photo and they made it a reality. It was more beautiful than I imagined! Everyone said that my cake was the most beautiful cake they had ever seen and it also tasted simply amazing. My cake was not the typical swiss cake. This just goes to show you that they can do anything. Don't be fooled by the people that tell you Swiss only does one type of cake....not true. I had a 4 tier, triple layer cake with a pattern that I wanted and fresh flowers in between each layer and on top. The tiers were not all the same shape. They really did a great job on a cake that I knew would be a little difficult.

BEST. CAKE. EVER! My guests were raving about the wedding cake. It was moist and super flavorful. It was sooooo good that my husband and I decided to eat the top right away instead of waiting for our anniversary. We are just going to order a small cake from them again next year! They were easy to work with; we did everything over the phone since I was from out of town (although I did get to go taste it). The cake design was beautiful and classy. Fantastic job!!!

There's no wondering why Swiss has been in business for 50+ years. I was initially torn between them and one other bakery in New Orleans. Aside from their delicious cakes, it was their customer service that sold me. My wedding cake was so good and it was decorated exactly as I described it to them. Awesome bakery!

Swiss is a New Orleans institution. If you want a classic wedding cake with buttercream frosting, this is your place. We had a 4 tier, simple cake with our monogram and it was absolutely beautiful and tasted great!

These guys were amazing!

I was (ashamedly) an indecisive bride...and these guys were great. They were professional and patient.....and then- the cake was amazing! My guests loved it so much- they asked the caterers to take the leftovers home in boxes!

These guys don't toot their own horn enough- some seriously good cake! (and it was really pretty). They even made the decorations according to a picture I drew for them. AMAZING !!!!!!

our wedding cake was exactly like the picture we gave them. It was delicious. We had a king cake for grooms cake. it was a last-minute decision. I had never had their king cake before, and I probably would not get it again. But other than that everything was fantastic

Swiss did everything I dreamed of and more!! Meagan was a great help and I could not have had designed my dream wedding cake without her! We also got our groom's cake from here. Both cakes looked amazing and tasted great! Each tier had a different filling!! :)

My cake from Swiss was AMAZING! They made it look exactly how I wanted, and they even perfectly matched the color of my bridesmaids dresses for a splash of color on the cake. Loved it and can't wait to eat the top of our cake!

Simply amazing. We had shopped around to several local bakeries in NOLA and had difficulties (mainly with who would deliver at the time dictated by our reception venue and trying not to spend a million dollars on a couple of cakes). Swiss Confectionary should have been the only place we went because it is out of this world. The staff are courteous, attentive and knowledgeable. The cakes are absolutely delicious and just what I had wanted. I did not want fondant and was able to get poured icing, similar to the icing on petit fours. Our wedding and grooms cake were delivered on time and we received nothing but compliments on the design and especially the taste.

After growing up in New Orleans and having Swiss' cakes for almost every major event, there was NO WAY I was not going to have my wedding cake be from Swiss; even though my wedding was in Atlanta, GA.

Swiss was 100% on board with my cake vision, and packaged it so that it could be transported from New Orleans to Atlanta. Needless to say, it went off without a hitch, and it was absolutely delicious! Only a few pieces were left!

My wedding cake was the final piece to a perfect day, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Thanks, Swiss!!

I would HIGHLY recommend Swiss to anyone looking for a wedding cake, or a cake of any sort for that matter. Swiss by far has the highest quality, best tasting cakes around. They are very easy and pleasant to work with in creating your cake and will gladly do special requests. I had always dreamed of having my wedding cake created by Swiss and was so happy to have that dream come true. Also, if you have never had a Swiss wedding cake before, stop by their bakery and ask for a taste!

The cake turned out wonderful! I wanted something plain and simple, but Swiss fixed the cake up with Fleur De Lis and it came out great!! Everyone was commenting how beautiful it was!! The groom's cake was also from Swiss, and they did a good job spicing it up. It was a volleyball, and it was so cute!!

Our cake looked absolutely gorgeous. It was better than I expected! I really didn't know how it was going to turn out since I put a couple of designs together but it was beautiful and elegant and matched my dress perfectly. I didn't get a chance to try it but can't wait to try it on our anniversary. We went with the untraditional devil's chocolate and the guests loved it.

I loved my cakes from Swiss! I had a vision for exactly what I wanted in mind & was very disappointed when a different cake vendor tried to charge an arm and a leg for fondant instead of buttercream . When I went to Swiss, they said the addition of fondant would be 1/3 of what I was previously quoted at the other venue and the bakers were actually excited to make it. I appreciated the intamacy at Swiss, the samples weren't pre-packaged trays, but were fresh from that day's cakes; I felt like they really cared. I also enjoyed their variety of cake pulls beyond the "traditional" ones in a variety of price ranges. The wedding cake was beautiful & very delicious!!
The one issue I had was around the grooms cake. While it looked great under the mood lighting of the venue, when the real lights swapped on we saw that the cake was the wrong color (blue instead of purple). I was pretty disappointed, especially since I provided a color image of what I wanted. My fiancee could still tell what it was supposed to be though, and other than one small detail, they were a fabulous vendor that I would still recommend, although you might want to do a follow up for the more obscure cake ideas.

Swiss made our wedding cake beautiful and it was delicious! We also brought in our own cake pulls and they were happy to incorporate these into the cake with no problem. Be aware that you must either have an in-town personal check or else cash as they don't have credit card machine. They wouldn't even take a check from across the lake. There was also some trouble getting them to understand what my husband wanted for a groom's cake, so we ended up getting this elsewhere. However, swiss was our definite choice for the wedding cake and we highly recommend it!

I would use Swiss again. They are very stuck in their ways for wedding cakes, so don't expect to change their minds, but they do a fabulous job at what they do, and the cakes taste excellent! Good investment!

Swiss is the classic New Orleans bakery for wedding cakes, and they delivered a great cake for my wedding. They took time to work with me to design the cake I envisioned, and it turned out beautiful! They have quite an operation there - at first I thought I would not be treated with personal service, as they have SOOO many customers - but they were wonderful. The cake was delivered on time, and was a hit. I definitely recommend them.

Swiss Confectionery is a legendary bakery in the New Orleans area. The cake they provided for me was beautiful. However, the words were smeared on the bottom layer. When I explained to the lady there that I am not overly fond of traditional wedding cake and asked for other flavor suggestions, she gave me a piece of their wedding cake to try. She stated that I may like it better. When I tried it and still didn't like it, she stated that "it was what my guests would be expecting" and to stick with it. Because they were included in the cost of the package with the Embassy, it was free of charge. However, I am not sure I would have chosen them otherwise.

their hours on Saturdays are not very flexible. The options for a contemporary cake is also not flexible. The cake tasted the great and looked beautiful.

My relationship with Swiss started off a little bumpy! My in-laws love Swiss, so there wasn't really a choice in bakeries. The first meeting, they only had one flavour of cake to taste (Do not go early in the morning for cake tastings). Then I learned that they only made 3 kinds of cakes with different fillings - no other choices. But when I expressed my concern, the lady did suggest adding brownie and cheesecake bites! In the end the cake looked and tasted amazing! We did go back for a second taste testing, when the poor lady dropped the last piece of chocolate cake on the floor. The one thing that did upset me was that I was told to "suck it up" on my wedding day and not have all chocolate. That I had to think of my wedding guests - but oddly enough, I have only been to one wedding that has thought of my dislike for vanilla and had a chocolate cake! Overall Swiss Cakes did an excellent job on my wedding cake in the end. If White, Vanilla and Chocolate Cake are all that you want - they are the place to go!

The cake was awesome. It tasted great and it was very pretty. My problem was that they would not do what I wanted. They have been doing wedding cakes forever and they are pretty stuck in their ways. Having said that, do not deal with any men at the bakery. The one guy that I dealt with was rude and very insensitive. The women are wonderful there. Would I go back to them for another cake? Absolutely! They have the best cakes in the whole city. I would just go in there with an open mind. My cake was beautiful and I was very happy with it on my wedding day.

Very disappointed in quality of cake, dry and tasteless. Wedding cake was design that we ordered but they forogt to put the cake pulls in. Did not realize until we were ready to cut the cake.
Grooms cake again was the desgin that we ordered, but also very dry.
No compliments from any of our guest on the cakes and we can see why.
Disadvantage to using the same bakery for both cakes is that if one is disappointing in taste then you have a chance that the other may be better. Have often found that grooms cakes are more tasty than the wedding cake at other weddings I have attended.
