User1595160 Sent on 04/23/2014Brian is the best. I cannot say enough good things about him. My husband and I got married at the Forest House Lodge where Brian has done many weddings. He was so easy to work with. He met with us as many times are we wanted to discuss music, really listened to what we said, and made suggestions based on what we liked. We didn't know what we wanted for a few things and he sent us over his favorite tracks to chose from. That was super helpful. I also decided to dance the Merengue with my step dad as a "first dance" song. He didn't have the song I was looking for (a hard to find song, requested by my step dad), but worked hard to find it (and did!). We also wanted a unique song he didn't have for our bridal party and he was able to find that too! (His music selection is huge!) He was respectful of my must play and my do not play list. I was amazed at how he kept the whole dance floor full- from young to old. My family is very different than my fiancé's family and I was worried about keeping everyone dancing- well, Brian is a professional and he totally knows what he is doing. Brian was also our MC and did a great job. He kept the flow of the evening going well. I didn't want a "wedding DJ" because I didn't want the dance floor to be cheesy or typical. It wasn't at all. Brian did such a great job choosing music that was fun to dance to, while not staying in one genre for too long. He noticed who left the dance floor, and changed the music appropriately. Brian is the main reason I wasn't worried the day of my wedding. He knows how to forsee any issues and fix them without me knowing. He also works well with all the vendors and helped keep everyone on track and working as one big team. Brian made us feel like the most important Bride and Groom he's ever worked with. I really trusted his judgment and expertise. I honestly do not have one regret and would highly highly recommend Brian's work. Also- he's such a SUPER nice guy. -
User1230567 Sent on 07/07/2013Brain Taylor is the DJ for Swerve Ent. I wasn't too impressed. We got Brian's name off the preferred vendor list from our venue. Brian was on time and kept the night moving along, although at the end of the night he came and asked me for a check to finalize payment that had been taken care of more than 6 months prior, and he assured me that it hadn't been resolved. I felt as though he was possibly trying to take advantage of a busy bride (maybe hoping I had too much to drink, which was not the case) thinking that I would just cut a check as if I didn't know what was going on. I also heard from a relative after the fact that he (our guest) went and requested a change of music genre because no one was dancing. Brian changed the music and everyone started dancing...problem solved? Not quite, he then thought he would approach our quest and tell him that it was rude of him to request a song change and that he (Brian) knew how to do his job and even proceeded to threaten to have our relative thrown out. Completely out of line.

I've been a DJ for a long time and, with that, accustomed to extremely intoxicated guests who are unable to hold their alcohol. I know how to handle them professionally and typically can diffuse situations with humor and communication. But as a non-drinker, I am very aware of my surroundings and I know when my personal safety is at risk. Suffice it to say, that's pretty rare. In your case, your XL guest clearly had too much to drink and was disrespectful, threatening and way, way beyond the boundary of decent. He was on my side of the table, insulting me and cursing and then chest bumped me (as in "come at me bro"), causing me to have to get security to deal with him just so I could continue to work. He was in my face. It's a guest problem NOT a DJ problem and it's unfortunate that you don't see that. I apologize that your relative was such an embarrassment.
With regards to your payment, I was up-front and extremely apologetic when I realized that, as coincidental as it is, I had a Bride with the same name and a very close wedding date still owing a balance and, mistook you for her. It was an honest mistake that anyone can make. While I understand that the world is full of folks just trying to bully and get one over, I am not one of them. I am guilty of making a mistake and I am most sorry that the experiences you have had led you to suspect (and then announce on social media) that you felt I was trying to take advantage of you rather than believing that it was an honest mistake.

User2025204 Sent on 01/28/2015Brian was the DJ for our wedding and we were very unhappy with our experience. We should have listened to the other brides and grooms that told us not to choose him. He took it upon himself to cut 1 minute and 30 seconds into the song that I walked down the aisle to, and he didn't even ask me if that was ok. I was informed by my wedding coordinator 30 seconds before I walked down the aisle. He also promised a video of our ceremony, which he has not followed through with and he has yet to return any of my emails.

Thank for bringing this to my attention; your negative review has prompted me to make a few positive changes to my business.
Point #1: Your wedding coordinator came to me 30 seconds before your bridal party was going to walk and changed the plan, REQUESTING me to "cut out the beginning" of your song. I should have been made aware of song modifications earlier, by you. Asking any DJ to change course at such a critical time would have gotten you the same (or a worse) result. Moving ahead, I will add to my contract that any song modifications are made at least 24 hours prior to the event.
2- Re: your "video". I am a DJ, not a videographer. I offered to help you because you had mentioned that you wanted video but were on a tight budget. I did this out of kindness and caring, for FREE, just wanting to help you. In going outside of my contract to do this, you slammed me in a review. You slammed me for taking too long to get you something that I offered you outside of music, outside of the contract FOR FREE. You slammed me because you didn't get free services when you wanted them. In the future, I wouldn't do something out of kindness. If it's not in the contract, it's not happening.
I am blessed to work with amazing clients every day. For the great experiences I have, I'm okay accepting that there will always be the one or two who don't accept personal responsibility, have unrealistic expectations and then, use social media as a one-way tool to get revenge. Those are the exception to the rule and while the negativity is unwelcome, I'm glad for the opportunity to strengthen my contract, ensuring that I keep the number of "exception" clients to an absolute minimum.
