Perfect wedding planner for a flawless day!
We used Sweetchic Events to plan our recent wedding in Chicago on the recommendation of a friend and were lucky to have Charlene Liang as our planner. Charlene is a consummate professional and absolute master of her craft. We learned in working with her that she has decades of experience in the hospitality industry and wedding planning – it shows! She is prepared, direct, smart, and patient – perfect qualities in a planner. We had a winter wedding in the city, and it was very important for us that our guests did not have to deal with Chicago weather, that we had plans in place to be able to take photos, etc. Charlene found a venue – the Sofitel Hotel – only a few blocks from the church that checked every box and was under budget. She was able to negotiate discounts on our behalf and asked for things we would never have considered but made all the difference for the wedding.
We had a short (8-month) engagement and brought in Charlene only 7 months before the event. We also had quite a few hurdles to jump through with having a Catholic ceremony and had to work with a contingency plan for our ceremony cite up until a month before the wedding. Charlene handled everything perfectly and always made us feel like everything would work out – and it did! Every vendor she connected us with was exactly within our budget and was all-around excellent. Our DJ (Amplified Events), Florist (Flor del Monte), and photographers (Studio Finch) had worked with Charlene before, and it made everything so seamless on the day-of. We had to make a last-minute change to the hair stylist two weeks before the wedding and she made something that should have been stressful into a smooth process. She helped us translate a Pinterest board with a few photos into the most beautiful floral arrangements and exactly the timeless, classic look we were going for.
From recommending how to tweak our dinner dishes to making detailed day-of timelines – including pocket itineraries for our whole wedding party – and communicating with all our vendors, she was an invaluable part of making our day possible. Every vendor on the day of the event commented on how smooth and seamless the wedding was for them as well. It made everyone truly able to enjoy the day instead of it being stressful. In looking through our photos, one of our favorite pictures from the day is our photo with Charlene when we did a sneak peek at the reception set up before guests arrived – we think that says a lot about how important she was to making it the best day of our lives. We whole-heartedly recommend her for anyone planning a wedding in Chicago.

Our day wouldn't have been the same without Charlene and team!
My husband and I knew we needed someone to keep us on track and organized for our big day. We were so grateful for Charlene and her team for being there for us! We had their help for Wedding Day Coordination and Production, and she started helping us two months in advance, which was absolutely needed. Two months before the event, she started communicating and coordinating with all of our vendors, which took a lot of work off of our plates. Charlene thought of all those details I would've probably forgotten until that day, and she helped us to brainstorm ideas for aspects of our wedding we hadn't yet decided on. She was flexible with meeting times, which was absolutely essential for our job schedules. On the day of our wedding, Charlene and her team were organized, calm and relaxing: exactly what we needed. I wouldn't recommend anyone else! -

The Gold Standard
Hands down, the best choice I made in planning our wedding was booking Sweetchic Events. My bridesmaids have started referring to Sweetchic as the gold standard of wedding coordination. We booked Sweetchic’s Day-Of Coordination services, which actually included the two months leading up to the big day as well. Charlene’s organization is unparalleled, and she handled follow-ups with our less-responsive vendors like a champ. On the wedding day, Charlene and Brooke were truly the glue that held everything together. They were a constant calming presence as all the moving pieces came together, and they gave kind, assertive direction when it was needed. On top of that, their pricing is more than fair. I highly, HIGHLY recommend Sweetchic Events. -

Charlene and Brooke are the BEST
Charlene and Brooke were rockstars. I booked Sweetchic for day of coordinators and did they freaking deliver. Charlene worked with us for a couple of months leading up to the wedding helping guide us and ensuring everything was completed before the big day. Brooke was an angel the day of the wedding. I did not worry once about a single thing. The day was completely organized and taken care of, and that is saying a lot coming from someone who loves control and has a lot of anxiety! Brooke was so kind and excited for us and made sure everything I asked for came to life. It was a pleasure working with this team. -

Exceptional Wedding Planning Experience with Charlene and SweetChic Events
We had the pleasure of working with Charlene from SweetChic Events as our wedding planner for our wedding on August 3rd at LondonHouse, and she did an amazing job! Courtney Hart- Reichenbach Wedding Review
Working with Courtney was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. My husband and I often joke that Courtney was the best wedding gift we could have given to one another. From our first meeting, she impressed us with her responsiveness and communication. Courtney was always there with quick and thoughtful responses to our many questions throughout the entire planning process. Her ability to listen to our ideas and understand our vision was incredible. She brought so much creativity to the table that we felt confident and excited throughout the entire planning process.
Courtney’s organizational skills are second to none. She guided us through the daunting task of choosing our vendors, using her deep connections and extensive knowledge of the Chicago wedding industry to recommend the best options for our needs. She sorted through proposals, helping us make informed decisions that aligned perfectly with our budget and vision. Courtney managed every detail with precision, serving as the ideal point person with all our vendors so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. The amount of time and stress she saved us is immeasurable, and her professionalism and calm demeanor made the planning process smooth and enjoyable.
When the big day finally arrived, it was truly perfect—and we owe so much of that to Courtney. Everything was executed flawlessly, from the décor to the timeline, all thanks to her meticulous planning and execution. Wedding planning review
We weren’t totally sure if we wanted or needed a coordinator , just like many other couples out there probably think. Charlene with Sweet Chic Events walked us through different options and we ended up going with a partial coordination where she helped us starting about 2 months before our wedding. We chose all of the things we liked and wanted and Charlene put it all together so flawlessly. She also handles so much of the logistical stuff with vendors which was a huge help and allowed for us to just be excited for our wedding. Everything turned out absolutely gorgeous and we couldn’t have imagined it any better! We truly felt that Charlene and her team cared about us as people and were just as happy for us as our guests. We absolutely recommend working with Sweet Chic whether you need a full planner or just some help getting things organized! -

Incredible Experience!
Our experience with Sweetchic was seamless. Courtney and her team were incredibly prepared, thoughtful, and kind. There is no way we would have had an amazing wedding (or wedding at all) without their endless support. We especially appreciated Courtney's organization skills. She was on top of vendors, to-dos, and food for thought from the first meeting. Sweetchic also offers a helpful, personalized webpage that tracks key dates, assignments, and more. We utilized this service early and often.
The wedding itself was marvelous. Sweetchic's team of Brooke and Courtney helped make the wedding go on without a hitch. Everything was taken care of and all we had to do was focus on each other. We so, so appreciated their support throughout the entire wedding process and HIGHLY recommend them to future couples!

SweetChic is the Best!
Hiring Sweet Chic helped make our wedding day absolutely perfect. We initially didn't hire a day of coordinator thinking we could tackle things on our own, then when the final few months became stressful Charlene came to our rescue and was so wonderful to work with. She is incredibly organized, great with communication and offers a ton of knowledge in the wedding planning industry so she always had great feedback for us. We also loved that she was so willing to work with us last minute, I can't say enough positive things about our experience with her and the Sweet Chic team. Sweetchic (courtney) best money we spent on our wedding!
I cannot thank Courtney and her team enough for making our wedding absolutely perfect; and most importantly for ensuring my husband and I were able to ENJOY the event we worked so hard to plan. From the initial consultation to the last minute of our wedding, she ensured that every detail was executed flawlessly; and that we remained worry free & in the moment the entire time ! Our experience with Sweetchic was truly exceptional, and we are incredibly grateful for their dedication and hard work.
In a city with a lot of options for wedding planners, Sweetchic proved to be the epitome of value. Throughout the planning process I mid have said "best money I've spent,” a million times! I never once felt like I was being 'nickel-and-dimed' - they are upfront in the contract, detailing every aspect of the services they provide. Adding in a few extra services such as assisting & attending our tasting, & setting up transportation was easy to do "alla cart' & at a fair price.
Every vendor we worked with knew Courtney, and were thrilled to work with her! It was obvious right from the start that her relationships were based on trust & effective communication. Her experience, expertise & a strong rapport with the vendors was an invaluable asset to our wedding planning experience.
Courtney was extremely generous with her time, answering emails / messages / hopping on one off calls when we needed it. The basecamp planning tool made contracts, timelines, communication simple, organized, and easy. Everything from to-do lists, payment dates, milestones were housed in one spot, mitigating the overwhelming amount of emails & paperwork that come along with planning a large wedding. While I made sure not to take advantage of her time, given that I hired her as a day-of / month-of planner, she truly made communication so comfortable & easy. She didn’t keep track of extra communication and charge us for quick questions (which in my research is not the case with many planning companies).
Somehow in the busiest part of the wedding season, she made us feel like we were her only clients.
Courtney's meticulous planning and attention to detail were evident throughout the entire process. She took the time to understand who we are as a couple, and leaned in our vision; ultimately going above and beyond to bring it to life.
While we had a solid idea of what we wanted; she consistently brought our attention to details we hadn't thought of. Her creative ideas and expertise transformed our vision into a breathtaking reality. During wedding planning, you're faced with so many choices, all that come with a price, whether that be time, money, effort. She made sure we asked the right questions, took into account ALL costs, and logistics as we went through the planning process and vendor proposals. I can't express how good it feels to have a true expert, and partner by your side, whose priority is YOU, and only you. A few of examples from our experience : during the tasting she came up with a perfect way for us all to choose appetizers, mains, salads, wines showing us a rating system, reminding us about guests preferences and the need for variety. She gave feedback on everything from the centerpieces, to the tablescape; all while encouraging us to choose what WE loved. After I fell in love with very expensive crystal chargers, she helped us find a new option that the catering team could use as our “free upgrade.” The crystal water glasses were even better than those charges as they added an element that was on the table for the entirety of the dinner! She made sure the vendors were completely upfront on any extra charges and ensured we were getting the best options. She assisted in negotiating an earlier / extended getting ready time in the bridal suite, coordinating all of our beauty team and schedules perfectly. She helped us navigate changes in the ceremony flow, including the procession order given my husband's blended family. When we realized the guest count was above what we estimated, she helped us find ways to cut costs. She explained that a large sign would be expensive, and hard for guests to navigate. Instead she suggested a site to buy escort cards and had the genius idea to put couples on the same card - which not only brought costs down, but reduced guests' confusion and made room for more decor. She ran the rehearsal seamlessly, passing out pocket sized schedules for the bridal party and family, reminding everyone of their positions, etc. When my husband an I were taking a while to get out of the venue at the end of the night, we were pretty sure the bus would leave without us. However, just as she promised, the bus was waiting with all of our personal items, card boxes, etc.
Those are just a few examples of the countless times she added value and support. Every aspect, from the tasting / assistance with catering & decor proposal, transportation organization, event execution, flow of events, & clean up was impeccably coordinated, leaving us and our guests in AWE.
Moreover, Courtney demonstrated exceptional professionalism and responsiveness. She was always available to address any concerns and provide valuable advice, which significantly alleviated our stress during the planning phase. Her ability to handle any unforeseen challenges with grace and efficiency was truly commendable. She navigated family, differing opinions, and a guest count of over 265 people with such grace. She just made our lives so much easier, and I can't imagine having the same result without her!
Our guests have not stopped raving about the seamless execution of the event and the thoughtful details that made our wedding day unforgettable. Courtney and the entire team at Sweetchic undoubtedly exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a dedicated, creative, down to earth, & reliable wedding planner.

Enthusiastic and Professional
From our perspective, a good wedding planner shares the majority of traits for being a good project manager, and Charlene definitely checks these boxes.
She made sure that deadlines were met, meetings were scheduled, and did a good job a presenting us with important information (i.e. filtering out extraneous/less important details). Her vendor suggestions were all fantastic local options that fit well within our budget. Also, with her experience as a wedding planner, she provided great feedback for when we needed to bounce ideas off of her for our wedding aesthetic.
Day of, she handled all the nitty gritty behind the scenes work. The majority of communications between vendors or those within our party that had wedding responsibilities went through her, and she kept things running smoothly so we could enjoy the night.
On top of this, she was genuinely a pleasure to work with in terms of personality and enthusiasm for our wedding! -

The Best Wedding Planner!
We had the absolute best experience with Courtney from Sweetchic Events. She was the first vendor that we hired, and it was the best decision that we made. She immediately understood the vision that we had for our day and helped us to implement it perfectly. My fiance and I were both incredibly busy with work during our planning, and she was patient with us while helping to keep us on track. Our wedding day went perfectly, all thanks to her. She managed all of the vendors so well and organized all of the details so that everything went off without a hitch. We have gotten so many compliments about how smoothly the day went from our guests and wedding party. Most importantly, Courtney was so fun to work with and made the whole process as stress-free as possible. I would HIGHLY recommend working with Sweetchic for your big day! -

Excellent experience every step of the way
Working with Sweetchic and Charlene was integral to bringing our wedding vision to life. Charlene is incredibly organized, proactive, and cool and collected at all times. We never once found ourselves worrying about something she was overseeing being subpar or falling through the cracks. And we weren't exactly working under the easiest of circumstances -- we hired her around the start of the pandemic planning for a 2021 wedding which we later had to push back to 2022 including most of the vendor contracts, and our wedding was a complex, modernized Indian fusion ceremony and reception in an uncommon venue (Union Station). But there was nothing Charlene couldn't handle and she made it easy every step of the way, from lining up vendors we could trust for our selection to navigating day-of chaos. She seemed to have great working relationships with the vendors which certainly helped them all organize together. Working with Charlene gives you the feeling of working with a thoughtful, seasoned pro who's going to ensure your special day goes by as smoothly as possible, and thankfully she was available to do that for us. -

Fantastic Planner!
Sweetchic was the ideal planning firm to help us execute a wedding day that was as enjoyable and stress free as possible. The firm seemed well run overall, but we especially connected with our planner, Kelsey. When looking for a planner, my wife and I were interested in finding someone who would get involved in the few months leading up to the wedding, help coordinate and put together the final pieces we’d arranged, and most of all be a supportive and reliable presence on the day.
From our first meeting, Kelsey made it clear that she would do fantastic job with each of these requirements (and she did). She was a friendly, organized, and down to earth partner in our planning process. She took time to get to know both of us, our personalities (i.e. anxious people), and our priorities for our wedding. She made sure to put our priorities first while also bringing up items that we had forgotten to consider. We’re most grateful for Kelsey’s willingness to creatively problem-solve with us. We decided to have a relatively strict covid policy at our wedding, and intended to require each guest to bring a rapid test along with them. Kelsey was instrumental in helping us figure out how to coordinate that process.
Overall, we were extremely satisfied with Sweetchic and Kelsey for our planning needs and recommend them highly. -

Worth well it!
If someone asked me for my number one wedding planning advice I would say to hire a planner! There were so many things we wouldn't have even though of, and having someone who does this daily take care of so many details for us was a dream. Even day of, we didn't have to worry about a thing because we knew the Sweetchic team (Courtney and Mia) had everything under control! We would HIGHLY recommend them to any couple looking for a dream team to help plan and execute their big day! -

Great service, and no complaints!
We found Sweetchic after a Google search and saw they were highly-rated - and we totally understand why! I worked with Courtney who was very knowledgeable, helpful and worked hard for us. She and her team were very responsive, answering all of my numerous questions throughout the process - and Courtney was just so nice and friendly, too. Courtney H. at SweetChic is amazing! We interviewed with three wedding planners and decided on Courtney almost immediately after the interview. She is punctual, great with organization, and responded to all of our stupid questions/needs quickly without hesitation. BEST wedding planner!
Hiring Sweetchic (and more specifically Courtney Hart) was the best decision we ever made. Courtney took care of everything for us every step of the way and I honestly do not know if our wedding would have been as spectacular as it was without her. She provided us a pool of trusted vendors to choose from based on our budget and we LOVED every single one. Courtney kept everything organized and they use a very nice website to help keep track of things and communicate. I truly hardly ever felt stressed during the planning process because of my planner Courtney (which is not the experience most brides describe when planning their wedding, so I feel very lucky). Everything on the big day went according to plan as well because of the wonderful Sweetchic team. I was completely stress free, which is every brides hope and I was able to just have fun and enjoy my big day. Courtney brought our dream wedding to life- from vision board to reality- and we cannot say thank you enough. My (now husband!) and I have demanding and unpredictable jobs. Charlene was absolutely vital and made the whole process of wedding planning and the day itself amazing.

Amazing planning experience & execution
Cortney Hart from SweetChic Events was our wedding planner, and she was instrumental in planning and execution. She was KEY in keeping everything organized and precise. She was incredibly responsive, within minutes of my emails, I would have a response. It was amazing! On our wedding day we actually had a tornado touch down a mile from our venue. Courtney kept me incredibly calm, and made other options work for the wedding ceremony. True test of an amazing planner, is making things work when plan A falls through. I am so thankful for her, and would recommend her to anyone I know. -

Wedding Planner
We hired Kelsey as a partial planner for our January 2022 wedding and it was a great experience! She was so helpful and supportive throughout the entire process, and helped us deal with COVID-19 curveballs up until the day of. She helped us track budgeting, suggested vendors, and coordinated an amazing timeline to take all the stress out of our big day. Would happily recommend her to anyone interested in booking Sweetchic. -

Amazing and organized!!
Charlene was amazing from the beginning. As the wedding got closer she would email me things I didn’t even think about doing. Her timeline that she made was impeccable and we actually were on time for everything!! She is extremely organized which was super helpful. She also responded immediately to all emails. Which I really appreciated ( I know most brides would as well). Thank you for Charlene for making my day amazing!!
Ps. The assistant she brought was amazing and extremely professional. She even waited in the cold for like 30 min while we did photos outside holding my fur!! -

100% would recommend Sweetchic Events
My wife and I hired Charlene as our wedding planner in 2019 and it was the best decision we made.
There are so many reasons why Charlene is the perfect wedding planner but here are our highlights:
- She is incredibly kind, patient, understanding, and calming. When wedding planning becomes crazy, she is at her calmest. Nothing fazes her and she never adds any stress to our plates. Some examples, a guest unexpectedly brought their child to our reception and she created a last minute name card, got a meal, etc without even letting us know. Or my family is always late to things but she never made any part of our day feel rushed. The process was so streamlined and we were just able to enjoy our reception because of Charlene.
- My wife and I felt like we could trust her completely. And this is with vendor selection, hotel selection, proofreading contracts, etc.
- Exceptionally professional and respectful with both of our families
- She helped us navigate all the ups and downs of the COVID pandemic with ease. For example, at one point both our reception venue and sangeet venue cancelled our contracts so we had no major venues. She helped us find a great venue last minute and helped us navigate the uncertainty of the Palmer House closing and reopening. She kept tabs of all contracts and cancellation fees. When we needed to move our date 2-3 times, she coordinated with all vendors to ensure a seamless transition.
- She has experience with multicultural weddings and helped us create a two part celebration - a sangeet on Friday at the Palmer House and a more typical Western reception on Saturday. She was knowledgeable of Indian culture and traditions and was eager to learn things that she maybe didn't know initially. She helped us plan two amazing events and we had the weekend of our lives.
- Very fast, kind, and considerate with communication, answering questions, providing opinions when asked on things like invitations, table cards, contracts, navigating tricky relationships with others, etc.
I am sure there are a million other examples that I am forgetting, but, to summarize, she is a wonderful person and an amazing planner. Hiring her was the best decision we made in planning our wedding and reception. We would 100000% hire her again or recommend her to a friend. -

Simply the best!
t was truly a remarkable 3 year experience from the “sweetest” team at Sweetchic Events! You really put a lot of trust into a wedding planner for such an important event as a wedding. Charlene and her team live up to that trust. We began with her in 2018 only to see my daughter’s May 2020 wedding date change three times due to Covid. Not only did Charlene expertly navigate the re-contracting and re-booking of the myriad of vendors and venues, she graciously coordinated our July 2020 micro wedding in Lakeview. She made sure every detail from catering to personally arranging silverware sets was addressed so that I could enjoy my only daughter’s wedding. My 20 something year old son summed it up best when he commented, “Charlene- wow!” Fast forward to July 2021 when at long last she helped realize our initial vision of a large reception in River North. Again, no detail was too big or too small for her or her team. Charlene’s Basecamp computer system centralized ALL important details so all parties involved in planning know exactly what is going on at all times - an invaluable asset. Also be reassured that Sweetchic will return emails and texts usually within 24 hours. Charlene’s consistency in that over our 3 year relationship is a true testament to her commitment to her clients, and makes her a standout. Aside from Charlene being incredibly knowledgeable, organized and detail oriented, she is genuinely kinds to work with. Several times she stepped in last minute to handle details I had undertaken at a time when I felt a bit overwhelmed. This truly made all the difference to me! My daughter would often comment, “What would we do without Charlene?” as both she and her husband remain beyond grateful for both gorgeous events Charlene produced for them, as well as for her patience and thoughtfulness throughout their long journey. The Sweetchic team is likewise stellar. Charlene’s assistant Brooke attended my daughter at the vow renewal/reception where she not only kept the wedding party on track, she helped my daughter literally cool down after a warm pre-ceremony photo session. I would say Sweetchic is the ultimate blend of the professionalism you need for a seamless wedding and the warmth you want for a beautiful experience. Unlike other event planners, there is no one size fits all mentality, and they will do as much or as little needed for your special day. And while Charlene’s input was invaluable, she always made it clear that the specific vision was at all times in our hands. Our family agrees - nobody does it better than Charlene and Sweetchic Events.

Wedding of Our Dreams!
We hired Courtney at Sweetchics in the summer of 2019 for our original wedding date of 5/23/20. Before we knew what we know now, we were thrilled with her from the start. I immediately had a connection with her on day one and felt so in sync as the plans slowly came together. Even the inspiration board she made was a carbon copy of my dream - it matched to a tee. It's important to find someone that you vibe with as you'll be spending the majority of your time leading up to the wedding with this person. Courtney has great energy and is very easy to get along with. She was also able to handle my procrastinating, indecisive nature and professionally kick me in the butt when I needed to get things done. Takes a special touch.
Then there was Covid. We had to postpone 2 times - once rescheduled to Fall of 2020 and the second to July 2021. Without Courtney in particular, I don't know if we would have been able to do it. She swiftly rescheduled every single one of our vendors to the new dates without a hitch. She even was there to handhold throughout the different city restrictions/regulations to ensure we were prepared for the worst but hoping for the best.
On the wedding day, Courtney was the vendor coordinator at the venue and Kelsey stayed with me until I walked down the aisle. Kelsey was so sweet and helped calm all the nerves I had. They were both so professional yet fun with all our friends and family to make sure everyone stayed on schedule. Not one of my family or friends had to lift a finger. They were truly the best!
The weekend was a dream and I'm so glad they stuck with us for two years to pull off the best day of our lives :) If you're on the fence about a wedding planner, just book Sweetchics. You will not regret it.-

Thank goodness for Kelsey and Sweetchic!
The best decision we made for our wedding was hiring Kelsey as our planner. It was summer 2020 and our wedding was in one year- and we knew we needed support around choosing vendors (especially in the context of COVID) and creating a cohesive wedding vision. We decided to go with custom/partial planning to get this extra support as well as day of coordination, and we started working with Kelsey immediately. She was essential in helping us navigate all the options when it came to floral, lighting, decor, hotels, and transportation. She was always quick to respond to any question we had, and has a knowledge of the business and systems that proved to be invaluable. Kelsey was open and flexible to our unique style, and we never felt like she was intense or pushing us to do one thing or another (something we were a little worried about before we picked a planner!). She really made us comfortable and made it clear that she was there to support and execute the vision we had for our wedding. Kelsey was also very communicative about her knowledge of the fluid COVID restrictions, and grounded us when we were feeling stressed that we might only be able to have 50 people at our wedding.
The wedding day turned out totally beautiful and exactly what we wanted, entirely due to Kelsey's ability to stay organized and on top of various snags. The transportation company we had hired told her the day before the wedding that they did not have enough buses to transport our guests from the hotel to the venue. Kelsey handled this challenge with ease- alerting us to the situation while also fixing it by finding another bus company with less than 24 hours notice! She also spent a long time ensuring that the original bus company refunded us for the service they weren't providing. We truly cannot imagine how this would have played out if we had not had Kelsey by our side-- it would have led to so much stress for us. We feel so grateful to have chosen Sweetchic and would highly recommend their services to anyone who is looking for a wedding planner!! -

Amazing experience with SweetChic!!!
For anyone who thinks they don't need a planner or that they want to save money, I say spend the money on SweetChic - they will save you an insane amount of time, energy, and stress! Courtney is phenomenal at her job - from the start of working with her she was on top of everything - very timely and helpful with whatever I needed. We did this during COVID together so it was not an easy feat, but she guided us through it so well and made me feel at ease. The day of, she executed everything perfectly and truly gave us the perfect day! We didn't have to worry about ANYTHING, she made sure everyone was in the right place at the right time and gave us the extra push when we needed it so everything stayed on schedule. Kelsey was our assistant that day and she was SO helpful, too. These ladies know what they're doing, I would recommend them to anyone in search of quality wedding coordinators!! -

Our Flawless Micro-Wedding!
My fiancee and I decided to move our wedding up—INTO the pandemic—rather than wait until things returned to normal. We planned it to be a small, intimate, safe, outdoor ceremony that we thought we could manage ourselves. After getting into it more, we realized the extra issues with planning a micro-wedding during COVID. We were hesitant to hire a planner, but we truly couldn't have had such a great wedding day without Charlene! We both felt fully confident in turning over everything to her. She was very professional, flexible to the numerous changes that occurred during the short planning period, and lent her expertise in guiding us toward a most memorable day. She was completely "buttoned-up"—we always felt like she was prepared and organized. Our ceremony was far from "traditional", yet she was adaptable to understand what kind of wedding we envisioned—and pulled it off with the right mixture of sentiment, joy, creativity and humor.

Amazing!
All I have to say is WOW! Courtney was absolutely amazing!!! When we first got engaged I really toyed around with the idea of having a " Day of" Coordinator. I wasn't sure if it was Really necessary. But after speaking to many people who had already planned a wedding in the past, we were quickly convinced. And to anyone out there, I would say it is absolutely necessary to have AT LEAST a " day of" Coordinator for your wedding. Courtney was able to help us with every little aspect for the 2 months leading up to our wedding. She was so extremely professional ( She knows what she is doing!!). With anything that we had a question about, she was able to help us. She was so sweet and trustworthy. We had a ton of issues with our venue coordinator and thank god we had Courtney with us each step of the way! Our wedding day went so incredibly smooth and I can hands down say that is because of Courtney!! Her assistant Brooke was also so helpful and sweet on the day of the wedding. She stayed with the bridal party to make sure everything was running smoothly and on time while Courtney handled everything at the venue.
If you are in need of a wedding planner or "Day of" Coordinator, you need to hire Sweet Chic Events!! You will NOT be disappointed!!

Absolutely the BEST!
We met with Charlene about 14 months prior to our wedding date, and she completely understood the vision that we had wanted for our wedding. I had originally met Charlene 6 years prior, as my sister’s wedding planner in the city of Chicago. She obviously had done such an amazing job on my sister’s wedding, that there was no question who we were going to turn to for my own wedding. She had carried out my sister’s vision so well for her own wedding, that I also knew she would understand my vision (though it would be completely and totally different).
Charlene was extremely responsive to every comment, question, concern, and request that we had. No matter what day of the week, or time of day, she was always quick to respond to us and never left us feeling unheard or in the dark. She understood what parts of the wedding day and weekend were most important to not only us, but to both of our parents as well, making sure she would help us choose vendors that we felt comfortable with, both style-wise and price-wise. She could not have found a more perfect wedding venue, as well as the most amazing live band, and not to mention the florist we chose, providing the most beautiful flowers I had ever seen.
Charlene will always hold a special place in our family. She completely took care of all the things that make wedding planning sometimes so stressful and overwhelming. I never felt like I was behind in planning anything, never felt rushed to get things taken care of, and never felt overwhelmed and unable to deal. I appreciate Charlene so much for all of her hard work in planning our most perfect wedding weekend. I would never have been able to find even one quarter of the vendors she had, and never even knew that the wedding venue we ultimately chose for our wedding day even existed!! I wish we could go back and do it over and over again each year going forward and have her be a part of it each time. I can’t say enough good things about Charlene, and she is ABSOLUTELY the best thing to ever happen to the Chicago wedding planning scene. I simply can’t recommend her enough to anyone. Working with Kelsey and Sweet Chic was the best decision we made. After our initial meeting, even as a 'day-of-coordinator' we started working with Kelsey ~2 months prior to our wedding. She helped ensure all of our ducks were in a row, from contracts & payments, to minor details, you name it, Kelsey was on top of it all. Her creation of our day of schedule and organizing all of our vendors over the final two months was such a relief and allowed us to enjoy the process. She and her assistants were there every step of the way during our wedding, and if there were any hiccups, they managed without any of the wedding party or guests knowing what was happening behind the scenes. It was so nice to have someone else in charge, so we could relax and enjoy time with family and friends.
Kelsey is professional, detail oriented, thoughtful, and kind- a great addition to any wedding planning. We had 100%+ confidence in her and could not have gotten through the last 2 months of planning, particularly the day of, without her!

Kelsey is awsome!
My husbad and I worked with Kelsey starting about 8 weeks from our wedding date. A few weeks before the wedding we found out we could no longer use space at the venue for myself and the bridal party to get ready. Kelsey, like with all other snags we hit, took care of it immediately, and was an advocate for us with regards to our wishes, logistics and budget. She is incredibly adept at what she does, working with grace ease, efficiency-quick on her feet, and able to problem solve anything that comes her way. Along with being a trusted resource, she also became a friend and source of comfort that was well needed throughout the process. We had 1,000% confidence that if Kelsey knew, it was handled :) -

Great Experience with Sweetchic!
I was really on the fence on whether a wedding coordinator was worth the extra expense, especially once I started realizing how much weddings really do cost! After talking to friends, and meeting with Sweetchic, I decided to go for it, and it was one of the best decisions I made! We worked with Courtney, and she made us feel so comfortable and confident that all of our planning would come together for a smooth day. She came on in the last month or so of planning. She handled all of the vendor communications, supported us on our venue walk through, and kept everyone on point leading up to the wedding. On the day of, it was so nice to have someone else in charge, so I could relax and enjoy my time with family and friends. Courtney and her team kept everything running smoothly throughout the night. Kelsey and Sweet Chic were a pleasure to work with! We hired Kelsey as our "day-of coordinator" but she was so much more than that. Wonderful stress-free wedding planning
Having seen the overwhelming success of Charlene’s work on my sister’s wedding the year prior, there was no question in our minds that Charlene and Sweetchic Events were who we needed to help plan our wedding—she was the very next call after our closest family and friends following our engagement. We did not have any strong ideas about what we wanted for our wedding ahead of time and Charlene was able to combine her expertise and our vague descriptions of the wedding we were looking for into a dream-like wedding day that surpassed all of our expectations. Rather than feeling overwhelmed by choices and costs, Charlene made it so we chose from a smaller list of vendors that she trusted and were within our budget.
In the months leading up to the wedding, the streamlined organizational system that Sweetchic used was super helpful to making sure we were on-task and didn’t miss any of the smaller elements that can make all the difference. Living on the east coast, planning a wedding back in our hometown of Chicago would have been unimaginable without such a reliable and trustworthy planner as Charlene and the Sweetchic team. Charlene made it easy to plan out our in-person visits and meetings around our already scheduled trips back to Chicago. Charlene is laid back and did a wonderful job keeping us all on schedule during planning and the day of without making us feel rushed or stressed out. On our wedding day, it felt like Charlene was almost magically always where she needed to be to direct last minute preparations and make sure that everything proceeded completely seamlessly for us and our guests. Could not recommend more highly for anyone’s special day!-

Amazing! So worth it!
We worked with Courtney and she was worth every penny and more. We initially struggled with whether or not we wanted to spend the money for a day-of coordinator, but are SO glad we did. I don't know how we would have made it through without Courtney. She was super responsive, patient, and took the pressure off the last 2 months, right when it was really needed. If anything didn't go according to plan on the day of, we had no idea because she handled everything. Because of that, we were able to enjoy every minute of our special day. Absolutely the best!
We don't even know where to begin when it comes to thanking Kelsey and the team at Sweetchic for helping us plan and execute our amazing wedding day! We hired Kelsey to help us with day of coordination, and could not be happier with our experience. From our first meeting about 2 months out, Kelsey did a phenomenal job putting together our timeline, making sure we were on track with all the little details, and really helped us put the finishing touches on our big day. Whenever we had a question, she responded right away with great advice. We also loved how they used Basecamp - it's a great tool.
Fast forward to the weekend of our wedding, and she was there right on time for our rehearsal. We had a big wedding party of 19, plus our families, but she was easily able to coordinate everyone and make sure we all knew where to go the next day.
On our wedding day, she and her team were with us every step. There were probably a few things that went wrong throughout the day, but with Kelsey's help we had no idea and were able to truly enjoy every moment. She did an amazing job and hiring her was one of the best decisions we made throughout the whole planning process. -

Kelsey was a dream start to finish. I could not have planned my wedding without her. She thinks of EVERYTHING and didn't pass judgement about us deciding to forgo certain traditions. Our wedding was really our wedding because of Kelsey--she understood our specific needs and priorities, and acted as my therapist throughout the whole process (not technically in her job description). I am not the sort of person who has dreamt of my wedding my whole life, so having Kelsey there to hold my hand throughout literally every detail of this process was essential for me. She helps with every aspect of the planning, and is there with an assistant on your wedding day to be a liaison between the couple and the vendors. She writes many drafted itineraries so that everything runs smoothly, and has the knowledge and experience to be realistic about the timeline. She's also just a really kind and very professional person, and she clearly loves weddings and takes a real interest in her clients. Because of my experience with Kelsey, I have told all of my friends that having a wedding coordinator is essential--it's the best decision we made in the many months of planning and hiring vendors. -

Charlene Liang is an expert wedding planner that any bride would be lucky to have planning their perfect wedding. She worked with my husband and me to develop an elegant, cozy, and tastefully whimsical small wedding of 44 guests in downtown Chicago. She honored our budget for an economical luncheon wedding and reception while also displaying expert taste in vendor recommendations. Her firm yet kind negotiation was helpful in determining contracts for hotel blocks, photography, décor rentals, flowers, and hair and makeup. And at in-person meetings, Charlene was always on time and prepared with research and questions that I never would have thought to ask to make the wedding day run smoothly. A favorite detail from the Sweetchic experience was a wallet-sized schedule that the wedding party could put in their pocket or purse to keep track of wedding day events. Charlene’s attention to detail was also helpful with wording advice for invitations and menus for my designs on Minted.
Charlene is open-minded about non-traditional wedding elements. Our groom’s party was a gender-neutral assortment of my husband’s closest friends. Our ceremony included a prelude scene, chemistry, and contemporary music in an acoustic presentation. She never once judged our unique choices for their progressiveness and instead helped us to create an inclusive wedding embracing all forms of love. Our reception did not have dancing in favor of toasts, games, and activities. Charlene helped structure seamless transitions between each event in the absence of a designated emcee.
I ordered my cake from a trusted baker from my neighborhood of Andersonville. He relayed to me after the wedding that “Your wedding planner was as professional, courteous, and competent as any I’ve worked with. Recommend her with confidence.” A vendor’s words hold as much weight as mine! Do yourself a favor and hire Charlene to plan your dream wedding!-

Charlene from SweetChic Events was absolutely amazing to help plan our wedding. She was so understanding of our wedding vision and was easy and prompt to communicate with. I felt like she went above and beyond to help with anything (even if it wasn't directly related to wedding planning) since I was clueless on almost everything and had no time to plan/figure things out. I felt like she truly cared about us and advocated for us when meeting with vendors as well. We worked with Charlene on our recent December 2017 wedding for “month of” services. Charlene is very responsive and organized! This was the selling point for me because I needed someone to take charge when I couldn’t.
Charlene was at every meeting we asked her to be and also had very valuable advice and questions to ask at vendor meetings. A HUGE thank you to Charleneand her team for helping with a minor floral issue on the day of so that I didn’t have a break down! :)

I live in Scottsdale and was getting married in Chicago, so was definitely in need of a wedding planner/coordinator. I am extremely picky and did some research on several wedding planners in the Chicago area and talked to them all on the phone to see which would be the best fit. Charlene was recommended to us by a friend when we decided we needed a wedding planner less than 3 months before the big day. The whole time, from finding out how much planning was left to do to my last-minute panic attacks (too many RSVPs, last-minute hotel blocks, unpleasant vendors, and so much more), Charlene was cool as a cucumber. Her planning is incredibly detailed and organized (each couple gets a Basecamp site), she's impressively responsive (even though she's super busy), and has a great knack for understanding your wedding vision and helping you work toward it. "We can't say enough good things about Charlene and Sweetchic events! Starting the wedding planning process was stressful and we quickly realized we needed a planner to help us out. After doing some research and meeting with a couple folks, it became clear Sweetchic was our best option. Charlene was friendly, supportive, and laid back. She was also affordable and we could customize exactly the help we wanted from her. I am pretty high maintenance to say the least an a perfectionist. This meant that wedding planning was going to be a huge feat. My husband and I interviewed 20 wedding planners and got quotes from over 50 of them. Sweetchic was the clear winner. They were the most affordable while actually having beautiful non-cookie cutter weddings in their profile. Charlene did an amazing job! I couldn't be happier with my wedding planner! We had a very intimate celebration and the wedding was planned in a very short time frame. Charlene is super organized. The very next day after I signed a contract with her she sent me a list of venues which I might like, a list of photographers who can work with my budget, and couple of stores in my area where I can get a wedding dress. With our daily communication it really seemed like our wedding was the only one she was planning at that moment, although she was working on couple of others at the same time. We had to make our decisions fast, but with her experience, good knowledge of vendors and understanding of what we want it was not very hard! It was fun actually!
She was very involved and attentive to details. For example she didn't like restaurant's version of menu cards (it was not pretty), so she created one herself which was lovely and matched our style. She also offered to write place cards herself with beautiful calligraphy!
On the wedding day she was there all day with her assistant to make sure everything goes smoothly and is on schedule. And everything went perfect!
I really recommend her as a great professional and a very nice person!!! -

If you're looking into a wedding planner, stop looking and contact Sweetchic Events! When my husband and I first got engaged, we weren't sure if we wanted to use a wedding planner or not but we're SO HAPPY that we did, and SO GLAD that we found Charlene and Sweetchic Events! After cruising the internet and yelp reviews, I found Sweetchic, and after a quick phone call with Charlene I knew she was who we wanted to work with. We live in New York City and got married in Chicago and from the start she made everything so easy and fun for us, even though we weren't in the same state. She took lots of care in helping us plan site visits and vendor appointments when they fit in with our already scheduled trips to the Midwest, and did a great job communicating with us and with vendors when we weren't able to meet face to face.
My husband and I were both very laid back in the wedding process, and at times unsure of what exactly we wanted to do outside of keeping it laid back, fun, and chic at the same time. She did an amazing job of taking our ideas, personalities and preferences and finding the perfect vendors for us to use. She asked vendors all of the questions that we never would have thought to bring up and was super helpful at explaining all of the different components that went into our wedding.
We got married at The Ivy Room in September and the day was truly perfect. Charlene took all of the stress out of our wedding day and took care of all of the last minute little details and requests so that we could focus on enjoying everything. The day was everything we could have hoped for and never would have been possible without Charlene and her team at Sweetchic! -

When we tell people our wedding was perfect in every way, we truly mean it. And that is in large part due to the help that Courtney provided us as our wedding coordinator. She was simply the best! A day of wedding coordinator (which ended up being support that started two months out, thank goodness) was something that was not originally in our budget, but when we were thinking about what we wanted for our day - not to feel stressed, not to have to worry about the small details, to just enjoy the party - we starting researching coordinators. Like, when the sunset is scheduled so that we can make sure our cocktail hour outside wouldn't end up being in the dark. Courtney started working with us 2 months out, took over all the coordination with the vendors (which was a lifesaver), developed our day of timeline, coordinated our walk through at the venue, and managed the ceremony rehearsal. My husband and I loved working with Charlene for our 2015 summer wedding in Chicago. She was highly professional in every interaction and was a whiz at keeping track of every aspect of our fete, down to the smallest details. I particularly liked that she used the online project management software Basecamp, so that all our wedding contracts, her handy checklists, etc. were all stored in one central place that we all could access (keeping track of a million emails would have been a nightmare!); she is superbly organized. TL;DR: Charlene was an amazing wedding coordinator, you should hire her.
When we were beginning to organize our wedding, my husband to be insisted we hire a wedding planner. I hadn’t attended a wedding since I was six and knew next to nothing about what it entailed (other than it would be good to invite people and give them food) and he had never attended an American-style wedding. We were clueless, busy, and chronically disorganized. Enter Charlene.
Here is why she is awesome:
1. She is scary organized and has coordinated many, many weddings. She knows what needs to be done and when.
2. You (the couple) do not have to remember when a given task needs to be done nor do you have to sift through dozens of vendors. Charlene will tell you when to hire, for instance, a florist and give you a short-list of names. Everyone she recommended to us was AWESOME.
3. She can answer your questions about what different wedding components are and whether or not you need them. For instance, I had no idea why we would need a guestbook…
4. She is never pushy about making sure you have all the ‘stuff’. My husband and I didn’t want our wedding to be too typical and we wanted to represent both of our cultures; Charlene helped us achieve both of those goals.
5. She will attend meetings with you and advocate on your behalf with vendors.
6. On the day of, she will be in charge of wrangling vendors and making sure everyone stays on schedule. You won’t have to remember anything other than your vows!
I can say without reservation that our wedding was wonderful and that it could never have happened without Charlene’s expert guidance and help. Seriously.

If you are reading this review and cant decide if you want to hire a day of coordinator, Im here to tell you to DO IT! I went back and forth trying to decide if I needed one. I interviewed a few and Courtney really stuck out to me. It was the best wedding decision I made to hire sweetchic. Courtney is so organized, helpful, and responsive. She was so helpful in the weeks leading up to the wedding she kept me on track with a calendar and to do lists. Furthermore, she was such an asset to have on my wedding day and I honestly don't know what I would have done without her. It was so helpful to have someone there to organize everyone, keep everyone on schedule, and take the stress off my husband and I so we could enjoy our wedding. Honestly, hire her, you will not regret it! -

I used Sweetchic for their day-of coordination services and I am SO glad that I did. It wasn't something that I thought I was going to utilize (I'm a very organized person) but ultimately I don't know how I would have done it without Courtney. She kept everything on the perfect timeline and seamlessly got everyone where they needed to be, she arranged arrival times for all vendors so that I didn't have to worry about hearing from anyone and could simply relax day-of. This was an awesome team to work with and everything went so smoothly because of them! -

I love Courtney!! When I brought up needing a coordinator to my then fiancé, he was very resistant to the idea. I think it wasn't until after our first meeting, when she talked us through the details of our day that he saw the light. By the end, neither one of us knows how we would have gotten through without her organization and advice!! I think my exact words were, "if it wasn't for Courtney I would probably be over in a corner crying right now." We had one venue where it was more DIY. There were tons of details to execute and vendors to coordinate. Plus, the other one of our venues was giving us some serious headaches over our contract. She contacted every vendor and venue and confirmed all of the details. It was such a relief to have her help.
After everything, the day went so smoothly. She kept us on time, informed on what was going on, and smiling. Plus, I cannot forget to mention how helpful her assistant for the day, Kelsey was! She kept track of my personal stuff, calmed me when I was just hanging out before the ceremony getting anxious, took some great photos, and helped me out with an aspirin and a granola bar when I was in need (they made such a difference.)
Because of Courtney and Kelsey I got to enjoy my wedding! Courtney really put the time and dedication into making my day a success. You can tell how much passion she has for her job and the couples she takes on as clients. She truly is amazing to work with! -

When I started the wedding planning process, the only thing I knew for sure was that I was going to need a day-of coordinator. I met with a few different coordinators, but Courtney really stood out to me. She was super organized and friendly, which made for the perfect combination. She really helped keep me sane throughout the weeks leading up to the wedding. Not only did she keep me on schedule with all the things I had to do - and things I didn't even know I was supposed to do - but she was also there to reassure me and provide feedback when I needed it. I was definitely one of those brides who had no idea what she was doing and had an endless amount of questions. Courtney was super patient and always lightning quick with responses. She really went above and beyond, answering my nonstop questions, asking questions I didn't even know to consider, and even listening to my random concerns. Seriously, she was doing double duty as coordinator and therapist. And nothing rattled her, like when we found out at the eleventh hour that the violinist for the ceremony wasn't going to be able to make it. She worked it all out with the DJ so that I wouldn't have to walk down the aisle to silence and murmurs!
On the day of the wedding I felt panicked until Courtney showed up. Once her and Jessica arrived, I knew everything would go smoothly. Together they were a power team making sure all the details were in place. The mother of the groom's dress has static cling? They had spray. The tag on my necklace won't come off? They had tools. Where are the shoes I want to change into to dance? They're already discreetly hidden them in a bag under my chair. Nothing got past her or Jessica. They kept the entire evening running perfectly and I really can't sing their praises enough. I kept expecting something to go wrong that day (everyone always says that something will definitely go wrong), but nothing went wrong and I fully believe that it's because of Courtney and Jessica! -

As a medical resident, I knew that it would be difficult to plan an out of state wedding without help. Not only was Charlene very nice and professional on our first phone call, but she also sent us a sample budget spreadsheet after that call without us asking. I felt like this showed initiative on her part, and I knew that she would be great!
Throughout the wedding process, Charlene kept us on track to make sure all of our tasks were completed, even though we were often delinquent ;) She listened to what we wanted, offered suggestions when we couldn't decide, and recommended great vendors. She was extremely timely with email responses. And the day of the wedding, her team was indispensable to us. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our big day. We felt well taken care of all day, and we did not have to worry about any of the details. She even saved the day when I had a minor veil crisis minutes before the wedding ceremony. Would have chosen Charlene and her team again if I had to do it again. -

As a couple comprised of one very busy full-time MBA student and one even busier part-time MBA student, we knew it was in our best interest to use part of our budget to hire a wedding planner. We did our research and reached out to a handful of Chicago wedding planners and had our first meeting with Charlene at Sweetchic. We left the meeting, looked at each other and knew we wouldn’t even need to meet with anyone else; Charlene was just what we were looking for. At our initial meeting she was extremely organized, professional, warm and calm; exactly what you want in a wedding planner. Throughout the process she did a great job of providing input when asked but also letting us steer the ship when we wanted to. For example, the venue and location were extremely important to us, and she narrowed down the available options within our budget easily, giving us only downtown Chicago, non-hotel venues with some special charm that would allow guests to enjoy the city and asked all of the right questions at the venue visits. That’s how we ended up at River Roast. She also took the lead on parts that weren’t our expertise, such as flowers (listening to her and Zenia at Flor Del Monte, whom I highly recommend, talk about flowers was sometimes like listening to a different language!). Charlene answered my endless questions about etiquette, details, wedding party, you name it! When the Grateful Dead announced their shows in Chicago on our wedding weekend a year after we had booked everything and hotels sold out in minutes, Charlene kept us calm and worked to find some creative solutions for lodging for our guests. And finally, on the big day, Charlene and Courtney made it easy for everyone involved, from the pocket-schedules for the whole wedding party to all of the details being executed properly. After the wedding my husband and I decided that the mark of a great planner is of course that the day goes as flawlessly as it can, but also that as the bride and groom you don’t have -

People who know me well would agree that I like to plan and stay organized, particularly for parties and events. When it comes to wedding planning, knowing which vendors to work with (in your price range) is as big a part of the process as any. I could have spent hours upon hours researching, but instead I had Charlene there to guide us through the whole process. I've had so many friends get overwhelmed by the number of things that need to get done, but Charlene was there every step of the way with suggestions and answers to keep everything moving along and keep our stress levels at a minimum. When the big day finally came, between Charlene and her team (who were there to support in full force!), and the vendors we had worked with, we knew that everything was being taken care of and not to worry about the small stuff. Having received our photos recently, I was reminded of what a great day it was and how happy and relaxed we looked as the bride and groom. I wouldn't change a thing! -

Hollywood Glam Wedding!
After countless search for a wedding planner we came across Sweetchic Events. Our first meeting was with Charlene from Sweetchic Events. When we first met her, we couldn't help but to notice how professional, organized and attentive she was during our meeting. After we left her office on our first consultation, her price was very affordable, and we decided to book her. I have to say she's a joy to work with!
During the planning, Charlene kept us on track, on budget and was able to find us our vendors without a stress! Charlene, was on top of everything before we even thought about it. Her attention to detail was phenomenal! We all know that keeping track of wedding vendors, and countless emails while having a day job can be very stressful. For us, knowing that we had Charlene in our corner, was a blessing because she made sure everything was handled and kept all the vendors in check when needed without us even having to get involve.
On the wedding day, Charlene and her assistant Jessica were a wonder! Not only did they made sure the bridal party had what they needed but they went above and beyond to make each guest feel like one of their own! We even had some guests called us personally to tell us how much they appreciate the way Charlene and Jessica were able to attend to them and made them feel like family. Charlene did a great planning that even my husband who doesn't like party was able to enjoy the day to it's fullest. I have to say to all future bride, a wedding planning should be stress free and if you have Charlene from Sweetchic in your corner, rest assure it will be just the way you dreamt it!! We will definitely recommend Sweetchic Events! -

My husband and I cannot recommend Charlene enough!! We both live in NYC, but were married in Chicago (where I'm from) a little over a month ago. Our work schedules are both very hectic, so planning a wedding from halfway across the country would just not have been doable had it not been for Charlene. I met with a few wedding planners, and knew Charlene was the right choice immediately (thanks to a family friend for recommending her!!). She is extremely organized, responsiveness, warm and personable, not to mention her attention to detail is unparalleled! We must have exchanged several emails almost everyday for the 6 or so months leading up to our wedding. I'm sure she was working with several other clients at the same time, but you really would not know it. I felt as if she was only working on helping me plan mine! Not being much of a "wedding person", I had a slight idea of what I thought I wanted. Charlene took that small idea and helped me create and perfect a vision which became a reality on our wedding day. Because of her, I did not stress about anything, even the day of the wedding!! Throughout the wedding process, she kept us on track in terms of timing and was very budget conscious. It made making decisions so much easier and more efficient (and cost effective!!). She truly put together an all-star team of vendors and planned us the wedding of our dreams. Charlene is the absolute best!! Book her immediately :) -

When my husband and I got engaged, we originally did not want a wedding planner, thinking we could do everything on our own. My parents who live out of town convinced us it would be beneficial, and we hired Charlene. She and her team at Sweetchic Events were phenomenal in coordinating our wedding day!
Charlene has a great personality and is extremely down to earth. With her, it is all about your wedding and she will do whatever possible to make your wedding day dreams come true. We attempted to be budget conscious at the beginning of our planning and Charlene was able to find us some amazing vendors. She constantly kept us on track throughout the process, which I appreciated since she could organize all our appointments, keep our vendors in line and answer my many many emails - and keep everything archived through our specialized Sweetchic wedding site. Charlene even made some of the littlest details, like deciding on guest favors, fun!
Charlene and her assistant Jessica did an awesome job on our wedding day? My husband and I and our families didn't have to worry about a thing and could enjoy the day. My mom even commented on how much fun she had, feeling like a "guest" at her daughter's wedding. Everything ran smoothly, the ceremony and decorations were beautiful and we all had an incredible time!
If you are skeptical about hiring a wedding planner, take my advice and hire Charlene at Sweetchic. She has such a passion for planning weddings - you will not be disappointed! -

We just got married in November and whole-heartedly recommend Charlene and her team to any couple looking to have the wedding of their dreams!! We used her full planning services and are completely thrilled that we did. We had a wedding with about 170 guests in Chicago.
We did a bit of online searching to try and find a highly rated planner at a reasonable cost. I called around to a few planners to get price quotes and a feel for their services and it was an interesting experience. Then we found Charlene and Sweetchic and it was smooth sailing from there on out. We sent in an inquiry through the Sweetchic website and within ten minutes we received an e-mail from Charlene about setting up an initial consultation with her. We met her at her loft space and just chatted for awhile about us, what we envisioned for a wedding, and how the planning process would work - by the end of our meeting my husband and I knew that Charlene was the right planner for us! We needed Charlene to help with everything. And she did just that, and then some! Charlene offers a wonderful blend of knowledge, organization, creativity, style, and approachability. She answered every single one of our e-mails, and was so much fun to work with. We didn’t spend a single second worrying about or second guessing anything that Charlene helped us with. We also didn’t have to spend time worrying about the next thing we should be doing, Charlene made sure we were on track with planning and reminded us when there was something we had to do. She recommended fantastic vendors, accompanied us on all of our vendor meetings, knew the right questions to ask, and took care of all the follow up. We had Charlene with us on the day of as well as her awesome assistant planner, Courtney. We have been repeatedly complimented on how smoothly everything seemed to go on the day of the wedding – and it really did. There is absolutely nothing at all we would change about our wedding day. Sweetchic is the best!

Sweetchic - through Charlene and Courtney - really made our wedding a success. My husband and I were not especially into the whole wedding planning process and Sweetchic got us where we needed to be, had us decide what we needed to decide, and brought to life our mostly vague ideas about what we wanted on our wedding day. We also really wanted to incorporate traditions from both sides of our family and Sweetchic ensured that went smoothly and made everything feel cohesive and painless. I'm not even sure where to begin to review Charlene, because, honestly, words cannot describe how amazing she was throughout my wedding planning process, as well as on the day of my wedding. Charlene is extremely organized, hard working, professional, and knowledgeable in "the world of wedding." She never steered me in the wrong direction, and she truly took my wants and needs into account for absolutely every decision she made. Charlene helped me plan my décor, menu, and unique wedding ceremony down to every last detail. She made herself available to me at all hours of the day, everyday leading up to the wedding, and there was never a question or request too small, or big for that matter, that she couldn't handle with a confident nod of affirmation, and a smile on her face. Honestly, of all the things you can spend money on in planning your wedding, hiring a wedding coordinator is probably the most worthwhile. And Charlene was most definitely worth it!
Charlene saved us so much stress, especially the day of the wedding. I've been to so many weddings where the bride/groom or parents are frantic through out the wedding because of last minute details that they are trying to address. Because of Charlene and her carefully planned schedule, I was able to truly enjoy our wedding and the entire experience. I did not have to worry about whether the vendors were able to set up at the venue, whether the shuttles we hired arrived on time, whether tips were delivered to the vendors, or whether we'd have time to scramble around to organize escort cards. The day is already so hectic and emotional, that not having to worry about such logistical details really was a blessing.
In preparing for the wedding, Charlene was great to work with through out this past year. She was organized, hard working, and responsive to our many (MANY) e-mails. Even though I'm sure she had several other clients to handle concurrently, she always responded to our numerous questions within a day. She was able to help us visualize the wedding we wanted, and knew the right vendors to suggest for lighting, music, florists, etc. She was flexible with her schedule and met with us when we were in town so we could accomplish venue walk-throughs, tastings, etc.
Lastly, Charlene is just a really kind and fun person to work with during a stressful time. You spend a lot of time emailing and speaking with your wedding coordinator, especially as you get closer to the wedding date, so finding someone with a personality and style that matches your own is really important. My husband and I really enjoyed working with Charlene this past year, and were beyond happy with our wedding day. -

I came across Charlene of Sweetchic Events through my sister who is also in the wedding industry, and I am so glad I did!!! I have never been good at organizing and staying on top of things, and in addition, my husband is out of country most of the time for work and so am I. So my husband gave me the go to hire Charlene as our wedding planner. Going with the full package, she helped SO much on our wedding...she pretty did the entire planning for us!! It could not have been possible without Charlene and her wonderful team. She kept me informed and in contact couple times a week, and reminded me up of upcoming meetings (thank God for that or else I would have forgotten). She has been so wonderful through the entire process, and I am so ever grateful for her service. I HIGHLY recommend Charlene and Sweetchic Events to brides-to-be, whether you decide to go with her full service or even her day of coordination. I am going to preface this by saying, my husband and I were not going to get a wedding "day of" coordinator. Our venue had a events manager on hand that we were going to utilize on the day of. Yet as we got closer and closer to the big day and more and more vendors were added into the mix of things it started to get overwhelming. So when my Mom suggested at the last minute getting a photobooth and I very plainly said "that's fine but I don't know who's going to coordinate their arrival, set up, etc; because I can't do it." That's when the light bulb went on for my Mom. She later approached me and said...."have you thought about getting a DOC?" Point being always listen to your Mom!!
We were so lucky. We hopped on Yelp and found Charlene and she's been nothing but an angel. She responded promptly to my many, many....many emails. She answered questions, followed up with my vendors (which was a god send especially when some vendors were unresponsive), provided structural guidance to the day and brought an assistant who would magically appear and nicely remind us how to stay on track. Charlene basically took all the work my husband and I had done getting a dream team of people together and then orchestrated a symphony with them. And like every event we had a few sangs however I never saw her sweat and she did everything in her power to make things right. If you are lucky like we were and she has your date open, don't think about it...just hire her! She will work hard for you and keep you on task. Inevitably this is your day and you have to be happy. And let me tell you happiness is NOT running around after vendors at the last minute and trying to figure out who's on first and who's on second. Happiness is a day that moves smoothly without worrying about what's going on behind the scenes. Leave that to Charlene and team and focus on what it's all about - getting married. -

We had a great experience with Charlene. We really appreciated her help in setting everything up at the reception, coordinating our party favors which were books and also our centerpieces, collecting all the odds and ends at the end of the evening, making sure we walked home with our gifts in hand, and most importantly just coordinating all the details in the weeks leading up to our wedding. My husband and I chose Charlene of SweetChic Events to help us plan our wedding after our first meeting with her. We were initially impressed with how responsive she was to our inquiry and when we met her in person and discussed our vision with her we knew she understood us.
With demanding jobs and a cross country move planned, hiring Charlene was the BEST decision we made. She was involved in every step of the planning process, guiding us and helping us make the best decisions to achieve our vision while still staying within our budget.

Having Charlene and the Sweetchic staff onboard during the planning process of our wedding was incredibly helpful and made the entire experience very low stress. We're not sure how we could have possibly planned this on our own! Charlene is super organized, so from the beginning, she had checklists, spreadsheets, and timelines for us to help us keep on task. She was always in tune with the vision we had for our wedding and what we were looking for in our vendors. Charlene is also very approachable for advice/opinion on vendors, design/decor, and pretty much everything else! One of the most helpful aspects of the service was Charlene's attendance at vendor meetings. Since she knows weddings so well, she often asked the questions that we didn't know to ask, and we knew she always had our best interest in mind. As we got closer and closer to our wedding date, her reminders were extremely helpful, and she made sure that we were in good shape- we ended up finishing most preparations with a week to go! On the day of the wedding, we got a little behind schedule because of hair/makeup, but Charlene was calm and reassuring, and everything got back on track in no time; the ceremony and reception were perfect! Her team Jessica and Lindsay were super helpful and so easy to work with as well! We had so much fun on our wedding day, thanks to Charlene and her team! I would not think twice to recommend Sweetchic to any bride-to-be! -

I loved working with Sweetchic. We used them for the same day coordination. It is great to be able to work with them starting two months before your wedding. The website they use to help you keep track of to do items is really helpful! I worked with Hollie & she was great. She was super responsive & helped keep everything organized up to the wedding. She made my life easier! She did our timeline and confirmed all our vendors the week of the wedding and came to our last walk through at the hotel & rehearsal. We just got married and used Sweet Chic Events to plan our wedding. Charlene Liang is the reason we were able to enjoy our wedding day. We were very overwhelmed with where to start for a downtown wedding. Charlene helped us narrow down venues and vendors while staying within our budget. She guided us through the whole process answering our endless questions, offering suggestions along the way. She is extremely organized with monthly to-do lists, planning time line, budgeting information, and calendar reminders. Charlene took control of the wedding day details, organized all of the vendors and worked directly with the venue director. She arranged our wedding day itinerary making sure we were all in the right place at the right time. We were really able to enjoy our ceremony and reception with our friends and family because she orchestrated the whole day. We would highly recommend her to anyone planning a wedding, especially in Chicago. Without Charlene we would not have been able to enjoy ourselves at our own wedding. -

Our wedding was wonderful because of Sweetchic Events and Charlene, our wedding coordinator. My fiancé and I hired Sweetchic Events six months before our wedding when we realized we were over our heads and needed wedding planning assistance and “day-of” coordination services. I contacted Sweetchic Events and Charlene got back to me right away to schedule a meeting. Charlene is a great listener and was attentive to our vision for the wedding—we wanted a unique and fun wedding ceremony and reception with many personalized touches. Charlene at Sweetchic Events helped us organize and prioritize our “to do” list for the next 6 months so we could achieve the high level of customization that we set out to accomplish. And we did! Charlene at Sweetchic Events not only helped keep on track, but found great vendors for us and gave us helpful advice us at our food tasting and during venue walk-throughs. She also made the wedding day easy for us by creating and coordinating the “day-of” schedule for our vendors and by giving out pocket-sized wedding day itinerary that she made to our wedding party and family at the wedding rehearsal. We didn’t worry about one thing on our wedding day! Even several of my guests complimented me on the organizational skills they saw of Sweetchic Events and Charlene and how well the wedding day went off--without a hitch! I would definitely recommend Sweetchic Events and Charlene to any other brides!

My wedding day was perfect, and exactly what my husband I envisioned our wedding day should be. All of our guests had a fantastic time. We could not have done it without Charlene and her team!
I got engaged in Dec/Jan 2012, and wanted to get married in June 2012. Given the short engagement period, I wanted a knowledgeable planner who can take control and get things done. I got the full service package and was worth every dollar. What I love about Charlene:

Charlene booked all my appt, and went to a few on my behalf when I was busy. She steered me in the right direction when I was un-decisive. I could be sending her 10 emails a day, and she would reply every single one within an hour. On our wedding day, 2 of her assistants came to coordinate: one stayed with me and other stayed with my husband. The entire experience 10/10 and highly recommend her and her team!! -

Sweetchic Events provided day-of coordination for our wedding. We actually did a lot of planning and DIY on our own, but got a day-of coordinator upon the recommendation of friends. We do not regret this decision, especially with the specific selection of Charlene and her team.
Although the service is for "day-of," Charlene's package actually starts 2 months prior, which turned out to be a huge help in figuring out all the final details and logistics with each of our vendors. As organized as I might pretend to be, I didn't even realize how much I was holding my breath until after we kicked things off with Charlene! She really jumped in and confirmed everything with our vendors, and answered lots (and I mean LOTS) of our questions about everything from design to schedule to etiquette....all with endless grace, patience, and professionalism.
Charlene actually couldn't work our event herself, so on the wedding day, we had Hollie and Lindsay, both of whom were very sweet. When I arrived frantically at the church with lots of stains from taking First Look pictures on the streets of Chicago, Hollie and Lindsay both got right down on the ground armed with Tide sticks and Shout wipes to clean it all up (and they got most of the dirt out!). We were ahead of schedule during our reception(!!), and Hollie did a great job managing all the vendors so that we started dinner sooner. We also had a nice surprise when Charlene showed up towards the end of the night, just to wish us congratulations and check on everything!! We couldn't have had better coordinators, and loved working with Sweetchic! -

You need to hire Sweetchic. My wedding day was absolutely perfect thanks to Hollie from Sweetchic. I met with several planners before choosing Sweetchic, and I was not impressed. One planner talked about herself for the first 20 minutes of our meeting, another expressed her love of spreadsheets to me as a selling point, so when I met Hollie and Charlene I was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. Hiring Sweetchic was the best decision I made throughout the planning process.
There were a couple of things that could have been cause for panic that Hollie took care of immediately, so I did not even have a chance to think about them. First, our contact at our caterer moved out of state six weeks before the wedding, then our contact at our venue informed us she was no longer working there the day of our rehearsal (which was two days before the wedding). In both cases, Hollie instantly determined who the new contacts were and made sure everything was taken care of.
I could go on with tiny details about why Hollie is awesome (like running to our messy apartment the day of the wedding to grab the toasting flutes I had forgotten); instead, I will just say that my wedding day was perfect from start to finish, and that would not have been possible without Hollie and Sweetchic Events. -

We decided to use a day of wedding coordinator about 3 months before our wedding when we realized our vendor list had doubled what we had initially thought and there were too many pieces to keep track of without stressing! When I met with Charlene and Hollie from Sweetchic Events I immediately felt like I would not have to worry about anything on my wedding day!
Having Hollie as a part of our wedding was perfect! Throughout all of our meetings, emails, and phone calls she was so organized, enthusiastic and up-beat! She made me feel completely calm, especially leading up to the last hectic weeks before the wedding.
The day of the wedding she was amazing- all the things that she and her assistant, Lindsey set up for the reception were exactly like we discussed- they did such a great job, especially with our dessert table! From the start of our photography session until we were tucked into our limo back to the hotel Hollie was on top of everything! At the end of the night she even packed up a box of treats for us to take with!
Hiring Sweetchic Events was by far one of our best decisions throughout our wedding planning!

I used Charlene at sweet chic events as my wedding planner for my wedding this past November. This was after I fired my first wedding planner. My wedding was very complicated, involving a lot of out of town guests, 275 people, and it was a 2 day affair. Charlene was awesome! My wedding was at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, and Charlene met me there multiple times to plan. She was always prompt, friendly, and incredibly organized. She has a great eye- and I loved her suggestions. She really knows what she is doing. The vendors she suggested were all reasonably priced and fantastic, even if I mostly used my own. She even met me at my florist in napaervlle, and because I live in the suburbs, she also met us halfway between my house and the city to plan. The actual event was flawless. I could just relax and not worry about the details because I knew charlene and her two assistants could handle everything. She made schedules for everyone and even made little pocket size schedules for the two days since we had a complicated event.
I cannot say enough good thing about her and her company! I almost wish I could have another wedding, just so I could use her again. Don't waste your time interviewing other wedding planner. Charlene is the best! -

We hired SweetChic for our hotel wedding this November. We had about 200 guests and WAY too many vendors --- about double the average wedding has. The minute Hollie came into the picture, everything changed. She practically memorized our wedding, and was making calls, organizing, and running the show. She always knew what was going on, was early for every meeting, and handled all our vendors. Even some difficult vendors and hotel staff who could have ruined the mood and wedding -- Hollie stepped in and buffered us all the way.
We would have gladly paid 3 times what they charged us. You guys need to raise your prices -- you guys are just ridiculously good at what you do!!! -

Imagining what my wedding would be like was easy. As a graphic designer I knew the color palette I would use, the concept and design of all paper products, and the overall feel I wanted for my wedding, "fall elegance with a vintage charm", I called it. However, the logistics of making all of my ideas and projects come together, that seemed like an impossible feat I didn't think I could do and/or I didn't want to deal with.
Not too long after becoming engaged, I started searching for wedding coordinators. I found Charlene through WeddingBee, a wedding blog I was an avid reader of. I immediately contacted her over a year before our wedding date. Even from our brief initial correspondence, I knew she was perfect! She was extremely responsive to ALL of my many questions and concerns and always made me feel like she was available at any time by email and phone. The tools, checklists and online "virtual office" she provided helped me stay organized and made me think of things that I seemed to completely overlook. Her warm personality, yet assertive professionalism made me feel overwhelmingly confident in her abilities as a complete wedding coordinator.
The week of the wedding came by and she contacted me at least once a day to make sure all loose ends were tied and all final arrangements were made - she touched base with all of my vendors once again too to make sure everybody knew where and when they should be and how it should be. The day of the wedding Charlene was calm, cool, collected and on top of EVERY detail. My bridal party commented on how attentive she was to all of us, and guests commented about how smoothly the wedding day went - that was no accident - it was Charlene and her assistant, Jessica. While Charlene was perfecting the entire cocktail and reception space after the ceremony, Jessica stayed with us on the Trolley ride to pictures and make sure we were on time for everything. I swear the only thing I did that day was enjoy it.. which was exactly what I told Charlene I wanted to do on my wedding day that first time we corresponded.
Sweetchic Events proved to be worth every penny and Charlene was an absolute joy to work with. If you are contemplating hiring a wedding coordinator, but think you don't need one because you already have a "wedding vision" and you can DIY everything, please reconsider. With all of my projects, no guest would have seen ANY of them if Charlene and Jessica did not set them up/ display them even better than I had imagined. If you need a complete vision, I am certain Charlene can do that better than anyone too :) Thank you Charlene and Sweetchic Events! -

I was probably the most relaxed and laid-back bride you've ever seen on her wedding day.
The reason I was so relaxed on our big day was due to the fact that I knew we were in good hands thanks to Charlene and her team at Sweetchic Events.
Charlene definitely knows her stuff. She was beyond helpful throughout the whole wedding planning process and knows all the in and outs of weddings. I was actually really anxious when meeting with vendors because I don't know anything when it comes to weddings. Luckily for me, Charlene was always there with me with helpful advice and suggestions.
On our wedding day my husband and I were able to relax and enjoy the day without having to worry about anything else. Hollie and Jessica of Sweetchic Events made sure everything was in order and the day went by without a problem.
I did find out later on that there were some glitches here and there but I never knew anything was wrong because Hollie and Jessica took care of it right away without having to bother me.

I met Charlene of Sweetchic Events almost 6 months after I started planning our wedding. My fiance (now husband) was very hesitant about the actual need for a day of coordinator. With costs piling up, you naturally think what's an area that we can cut back on and could we manage to do it ourselves. Needless to say months after meeting, our work schedules became quite hectic and I dialed who else but Charlene to assist with fixing what I considered to be a floral issue. She helped to work with my florist to bring to life my vision. Not only did she provide amazing suggestions but she detailed out the perfect palette so I could visually see what everything could be prior to meeting with the florist to adjust the design. Three months prior to our wedding I accepted a new job and knew that I would be limited on time so we decided to hire Charlene for day of coordinating services. All I can say is it was a complete event changer. When you hire Charlene as your day of coordinator, you get more than just someone who is there the day of and coordinates people but you get a whole breadth of services prior to the wedding. Charlene is amazingly detailed, easy to talk too, always available and a complete professional...her services are unlike any of those I've experienced and even my bridesmaid was quite impressed in comparison to the coordinator she had hired for her wedding. The tools and documents Charlene provided are great to use and make life so much easier. All my vendors raved about how thorough Charlene was and great to work with. The day of she kept things going, addressing issues, organizing things, ensuring we were on track with timing, and most of all making sure we were relaxed, happy, and enjoyed our day. What more could you ask for?! Charlene was one of the best investments we could have made and I highly recommend her!! -

I booked her for wedding coordination services, since I had a pretty flexible schedule up until spring. Early on, Charlene always responded to my emails in a matter of hours. She provided me with lots of email advice & guidance. In our 2-month meeting, she again helped calm me and provided me with a list of important to-do's. When my work schedule became crazy, she helped guide me.
Wedding week, she was a dream! She confirmed all my vendors, ran our rehearsal, and provided all of us with pocket-sized itineraries! How awesome is that? On the day of my wedding, people just kept showing up and doing things. I didn't have to think at all. I just enjoyed my wedding day, which really went "without a hitch".
