Selecting Bernadette to bake our wedding cake was among the best decisions we made in our planning process. Bernadette provided a very personalized tasting experience and was happy to answer all of our questions about our various options. She is extremely knowledgeable and talented and was able to fully capture exactly what we envisioned for our wedding cake. After our tasting, the choice was obvious -- we knew Bernadette was the baker we wanted to make our wedding cake. From there, the hardest part was choosing our cake's flavors, because all of the options were so delicious! On the day of our wedding, the cake arrived on time as planned. It looked and tasted even better than we could have ever imagined, and many of our guests commented on the amazing flavor. You really can't go wrong with Sweetcakes by Bernadette. Thank you Bernadette for sharing your impressive baking talents with us and our guests on our wedding day! -

If you have the opportunity to book Bernadette, do so immediately!!! She was amazing! Our cake was delicious! Get the Italian Buttercream! Our cake was orange and Italian Buttercream and my husband hates oranges but when he tried it in our tasting he was sold and he had to have it! We also had cupcakes of Pistachio and orange also with Italian Buttercream! Delicious! Everything was decorated so elegantly and it matched the taste! We love her so much we already put in an order for Christmas cookies!!! Can't wait to get those!!! -

Bernadette is wonderful to work with. From our first appointment she made it feel so special and like she really cared. That's actually a hug reason why we decided on her for our wedding (besides the fact that our tasting was the best and most delicious) It's honestly the best cake I've ever had. We went with the Italian buttercream which was a huge hit. Guests raved about how good our cupcakes were equally sharing that it was the best cupcake they ever had. She decorated the Bride and Groom cake perfectly, it match exactly what I wanted. The cupcakes were amazing. We chose to get three different designs that matched our theme (moody colors and white pumpkins that were wrapped in a beautiful gold foil). The designs were gorgeous! Again guest raved about the designs as well. We couldn't be happier with choosing Bernadette. Her prices are fair and you really are getting such a quality product. It's money well spent and way better than any bakery. -

Sweetcakes made us the most beautiful 4 tier white cake for our wedding. We gave Bernadette a general idea of what we wanted our cake to be and she took that and made us something even better than we could have imagined. And it was as delicious as it was beautiful! -

Quinceanera dessert table
Sweetcakes made our daughters quinceanera cake, cake pops, and cupcakes. We received so many compliments from our guest that it was the best cake they have ever tasted. The presentation and service exceeded our expectation. -

Bernadette was a dream to work with! She was excited about our wedding as soon as we met. I lived meeting with her and bouncing some ideas off each other. Her tasting was what sealed the deal though. My husband is not a big sweets guy but even he was sold and loved what she made! We got so many compliments on everything at our wedding and I can’t wait to hire her again! Maybe she can do a small cake for our anniversary next year. Book with her, you won’t regret it! -

Bernadette is an absolute joy to work with not only because she's passionate about her art of baking, but she's also in love with love! My husband and I got married last month, and Bernadette was so genuinely supportive and enthusiastic about our wedding and our future together that she felt like our fairy godmother!
With over 180 guests, we chose to serve the more affordable option of cupcakes instead of the traditional tiered wedding cake. One of our friends shared with us that our guests flocked to our dessert table when they heard that spice was one of our cupcake flavors! Our spice cupcakes were also our personal favorite, especially paired with Bernadette's Italian buttercream frosting, which is creamier and less sugary tasting than typical American frosting. Bernadette decorated our cupcakes with a rose design for the frosting and added a touch of white sparkles. Embellished with greenery and a few artfully placed spray roses by our florist, Bernadette's cupcakes were the perfect tasty treat for our autumn outdoor wedding.

The chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and salted chocolate chip cookies from Bernadette were phenomenal. Bernadette and team were prompt and friendly in delivering the cake, and so helpful to put together a dessert spread that fit our friends and family's taste. It was such a beautiful cap to a special wedding weekend! Highly recommend Bernadette and team. Thank you for everything! -

My cake was gorgeous and delicious! It was so amazing! She added the flowers from our florist and from my bouquet and incorporated them very well with elegance and simplicity. Thank you so much Bernadette. I will be returning for all of our special occasions and referring our friends. Tradintional Almond w/fresh strawberries bottom cinnamon w/pastry cream and a whip frosting w/ a comb finish. GORGEOUS! -

Couldn't be happier.....
I am so beyond thrilled that SweetCakes was available to provide the cake and cupcakes for my mother's 90th birthday. I have had Bernadette's creations before so there was no doubt in my mind who could make this amazing milestone that much more special. Everyone came back for seconds and a few even had thirds! There was not a crumb left by the end of the party.
I highly recommend SweetCakes for all of your special occasions. You will not be disappointed! -

I hired Bernadette to make a rustic-style three-tier wedding cake for my summer camp wedding in Angelus Oaks. Because I was traveling up from LA with the cake topper and decorations, Bernadette had to deliver the cake plain and decorate it on-site during the reception! I was only able to give her brief, vague instructions for what I wanted because I was rushing around, but when I came back later, the cake was exactly what I had envisioned. It was gorgeous! And she was so friendly and flexible to work with!
Not only was the cake beautiful, but it had a wonderful texture and flavor. We chose the almond cake with pastry cream filling and Italian buttercream frosting. The cake was absolutely delicious - moist, very delicate, and not too sweet, which was what we requested. I've been to so many weddings where the cake may look impressive but it isn't *good!* but I was thrilled with this one. I wasn't able to try a piece until the next day because I was too busy with the wedding and it was still perfectly moist and fresh more than 24 hours later.
I can't recommend Bernadette highly enough - I'm already wishing I had more of that cake... -

First Class June 1 2019 Wedding
There are not enough words for the way Bernadette treated us and the quality of cake and cupcakes were First Class. When we first met for a tasting we immediately knew this was the person who we wanted for our wedding cake. Throughout the last month we had several changes and additional cake and cupcakes to add. Bernadette was very attentive and was determined to make sure the cake and cupcakes were perfect. When we saw the outcome, we were blown away at the 3 tiered cake and 200 cupcakes. The decorations was exactly what we imagined. One important thing you want your guests to remember is the taste of your wedding cake and side desserts. Our guests are still talking about how great the taste was. We will always remember the treatment and forever remember the taste. Getting to one week later and the cake is as moist as the first day. Thank you Sweet Cakes. We couldn’t ask for anything more. -

I wanted a cake that looked like it was Hungarian embroidery and Bernadette LEARNED A NEW TECHNIQUE for it!!! It was so beautiful and her cakes are so delicious. Everything from the tasting to the wedding was magical and I got two cakes for far less than I would from competitors. Also she made me LEMON GLUTEN FREE CUPCAKES which I am still hearing about!!!! Hire her. I'm telling you. -

A great cake tasting experience
After having a terrible wedding cake tasting experiences with another local bakery, I found Sweetcakes on this website. I contacted Bernadette to schedule a cake tasting for my wedding. She asked what flavors we wanted to sample and provided 4 different cake sample, filling choices and frosting samples. Side note her raspberry filling is delicious. She made the layers in the flavors requested. The cake looked exactly like the picture provided to Bernadette and was absolutely delicious. She added fresh flowers to the cake at the venue, which the other bakery would not do. We got the cake tasting experience we were looking for. You can't go wrong hiring Bernadette she is awesome to work with. -

There were so many little details my fiance and I were very impressed when we met with her for our tasting. From the 1st email to the tasting date she was very responsive and knowledgeable. She has so many flavors and really tried to work in my price range. Our favorite flavor was the dulce de leche! She gave us a lot of options and we really appreciated it.

She is definitely #1 in my book, I would give her 100 Stars if I could.. -

She also was more than willing to do styles for our cupcakes and cake that she didn't have displayed. We love that she is willing to work directly with vendors, as apposed to having us play middle man, so we can focus on our day. i would recommend this 'sweet' lady to anyone who is looking to book their wedding in the area. Sweet 17 Ceremony: OMG Amazing Cake!!!
No exaggeration, our cake tasted amazing! The decor was exactly what we asked for and more! We had 3 flavors, Lemon (extra lemon) w/ fresh raspberry filling, strawberry and carrot cake, with Italian Cream frosting. She exceeded our expectations. ALL our guests not only complimented, but ate every piece on their plate. We didn't throw any cake away, they loved it! I got calls afterwards. We are soul food, down south and gourmet eating folks. We are quite particular and she wow'd us! Her pics don't do it justice, you'll be happy you chose her! She's now our go-to baker! Thank you Bernadette, your cake was the star next to our daughter! -
