We cannot be happier with Ted as our DJ! His price was right and from the first interaction we had we knew we wanted to work with him. His timeline template was thorough and he was flexible the entire time. Day of the wedding he helped the day move along and played fantastic music! He read the room. I cannot recommend him and Sweet Sounds enough! -

Had an amazing time working with Ted (Owner) and Hugh ( Our DJ ). We initially met with Ted and had an in-depth conversation with him regarding what we were wanting. He then sent over a google doc timeline for us to update throughout the planning process which was super helpful. A few weeks before our event we connected with Hugh and had a final check in call with him and went over the timeline and discussed everything. Hugh arrived on time and was great through the whole event both being our DJ and Emcee for the night. He kept the music bumping and everyone enjoyed dancing the night away. I would definitely recommend their services !! -

Wonderful wedding MC'd by Ted
Ted was an absolute delight to work with from start to finish. While planning for the event, he made certain to know what the timeline for the evening was, what vibe we wanted for the music, they playlist for the evening, and who was and was not allowed to get in front of a mic. He was full of tips and tricks about how to help guests keep a good time rolling, while minimizing any drama from grumpy or tipsy guests. Day of, he was full of good humor and energy, made sure to introduce himself to anyone giving a toast so they'd know who to go to, and kept people on the dance floor all night with some great music. Absolutely would recommend Ted to run your wedding or reception. -

Ted was the MC/DJ for our wedding and from the very first phone call he was everything we were looking for in an DJ. He hit the nail on the head by emphasizing a good, personable MC and the guests loved him! He was also very quick to respond and provided us with the timeline/info sheet we needed to stay organized. He also leaves a judgement-free space for you to talk about those family members/friends who might be a challenge at the reception. Totally put us at ease and made wedding planning a whole heck of a lot less stressful. Highly recommend! He traveled all the way out the Ellensburg for us! -

I was nervous about having a DJ because I'm not a big dancer and he came through in all areas and absolutely exceeded all my expectations. He was very flexible and made the day of changes I forgot to record (on the extremely convenient excel spreadsheet he provided). My friends even liked him so much they got his information for when they have their own wedding, he made the day memorable. -

My name is Chris, and I was lucky enough to marry the most beautiful bride & my favorite person. I was the groom, but I did the lion's share of the planning for the wedding. I've heard it's a little unusual, but that's how we work! I'm writing this review to help YOU save some time & expense. Call Ted @ Sweet Sounds.
If you're reading this, you're probably looking for some guidance. Having the right DJ/MC on your team is hard but SO important. When I was in your position, I found a huge range of offerings, limitations, and services. Some charged for 'extra lighting.' Some owners would commit but send someone in their place. Others refused to "MC" the event (unless paid extra, of course). Some tried to take over the event. My advice to you: go ahead and call a few companies. Then, once you're good and frustrated, call Ted @ Sweet Sounds.
I think what I appreciated the most about the company is that they were just part of "your" team. They took the time to get to know what was important to you, and when the day came, they made that happen. They provided music, MC, lighting, and whatever else they could. No matter how much planning you do, schedules change; needs change, wants change. When they do - and they will - you want Sweet Sounds in your corner. Ted was wonderful to work with, was really fun, and filled in where needed. Everyone had a great time. Folks were dancing all night, smiling, laughing, and having fun. Setup was early, payment was straightforward, the lighting was awesome, the sound was great, no surprise costs, and ultimately, people are still talking about the event. It was awesome - sincerely, thank you, Ted.
Call Sweet Sounds. Plan early. Be willing to let go of things that don't matter to you, and enjoy the day. Oh - and congrats on your engagement...it only gets better :) -

Sweet Sounds is a team of DJs led by owner Ted Mase. We had Martin as our DJ for our wedding in September. He did a great job getting people onto the dance floor, including his idea to welcome couples to join the second half of the mother-son dance instead of just fading the song out, leading people in some steps for one song, taking a few requests, and keeping up a great flow from song to song. There may have been some miscommunication between myself, Martin, and Sweet Sounds owner, Ted, in the initial arrival and set up time, so I started getting nervous when Martin hadn’t shown up 2 hours before the ceremony start like I thought he would. But he did show up with plenty of time to get setup and ready, so no harm there. We ended up making a few on-the-spot changes with our dinner timeline and moving toasts later to accommodate for sunset photos, and I appreciate how flexible and accommodating Martin was to any changes we wanted to make. Sweet Sounds made everything easy, providing a microphone and stand for the officiant, and having their own small dance lights that could fit on a 6 foot table along with all the sound equipment. It was less than $1,300 for 6 hours of music, which seemed like good value compared to some other DJs. -

Ted Mase was our DJ/MC and everything was so simple and great. The day of our ceremony was rainy and Ted worked with our Day-of-coordinator to help us with last minute plans. He is super kind and looks out for the needs of the bride and groom. He also has a great sense of humor, he can improvise where needed, entertain the crowd, etc. We highly recommend using Sweet Sounds DJ -

Best DJ/MC ever!
Ted Mase of sweet sounds made our wedding so much better! Without sounding too cheesy, it wouldn't have been as awesome without him. Professional, on time, knew how to talk to the crowd, but more importantly, just a really great guy to talk to. Sense of humor goes a long way!
Ted helped us with wedding games, wedding plans, what to watch out for, etc... he really knows his stuff! During the last minute decisions of the wedding, we were able to have him quickly react and take control. Phew! .
Hope to see him again in the near future. Thanks Ted! -

We are so grateful that we chose Sweet Sounds and Ted Mase for our wedding reception. We honestly could not have selected a more professional, friendly, and easy to work with DJ/MC than Ted and Sweet Sounds. With all of the choices out there it is hard to know whether or not the choice you make will be a good one, let alone, the right one. Trust us when we tell you, Sweet Sounds and Ted Mase is the one. You cannot do any better! From our first contact on the phone with Ted we knew immediately that this guy was the guy who was going to make our reception worry free. There is plenty to worry about when you are trying to make sure that all of your guests will be entertained and go home after the event and say, "That was really an amazing time. We're so glad we went!" Thank you so much, Ted and Sweet Sounds for the awesome and special evening! Your talent and your personality was everything that we knew it would be, amazing and just plain perfect! -

We absolutely loved having Ted emcee/DJ our wedding. Finding a DJ was one of the stressors in my wedding planning, and I had no clue where to even start. We met Ted at a wedding show, right from the start he was so personable and seemed like a great fit. He had worked at our wedding venue lots of times, and reassured me that he knew exactly what he was doing. Having him there took so much stress off of me and my bridal party because he kept the day flowing perfectly. If you are debating between DJs, Ted is an amazing pick. He was attentive and listened to exactly what I wanted, and he was flexible on the day of when we wanted more time for pictures and videos. Thank you so so much Sweet Sounds and Ted, you were amazing! -

Ted did such an amazing job for our wedding! From the planning phone calls to the night of he was just awesome! Really helped me plan everything out and make things easy for us. i am torn about writing this review because I have heard wonderful things about Ted's services, from close friends and reading online. This is why we hired Ted. I don't know if we caught him on an off night, but this has continued to nag at me so I am posting my honest thoughts.
Ted, my mom and I went over my playlist a few days before the wedding. I even had a separate area of the playlist that I made clear to Ted was to be played when I was able to be on the dance floor because they meant a lot to me. You can imagine my horror when I heard them off in the far distance when I was taking pictures. We had every minute allocated out to a particular song, and sure enough, it did not follow my instructions. I had to ask my coordinator to go up to Ted and remind him of where we were in the schedule; even more alarming, I had to leave the very few moments i had with friends to go tell Ted he was skipping over the bouquet toss/garter belt part.
I had very few artists on my do not play list- maybe three. Number one is Pit Bull. He played Pit Bull, in addition to other loud, club dance songs that did not follow our theme at ALL. Our guests even asked us about our music choices, to which i had to firmly respond that was not the plan.
My mother was the most upset that the bridal procession music didn't go as arranged, and she had multiple emails with Ted how she wanted it to go. This was the most important aspect of the wedding to my mom and a huge disappointment.
Again, I am really disappointed that this arrangement did not go as we would have liked. Sweet Sounds has great ratings, so I don't know what happened on our wedding night. These issues aren't the end of the world, but unfortunately hiring Sweet Sounds was the most disappointing aspect of our wedding.
