Wonderful cakes!

Our experience working with Steve was wonderful! He was easy to work with, flexible and was willing to work with us to create exactly what we wanted for each cake. The cakes tasted AMAZING. We loved everything about them!

Amazing dessert bar!

We opted to have a dessert bar at our marriage celebration this summer, since we had already had an intimate wedding and small cake during the pandemic. Steve was so easy to work with, and his set up was beautiful. The desserts were absolutely delicious, our guests raved about them!

Sweet Sensations is the best!

Sweet Sensations made the most delicious cake and desserts for our wedding day! Not only were they beautifully crafted, but tasted incredible too. Steve was so amazing to work with and we were blown away by his creations. We highly recommend Sweet Sensations for any wedding day sweets!

The best cake

Steve made us the best cake we have ever had! We had multiple guests come up to us after the wedding to say it was absolutely amazing. It was moist, flavorful, and beautifully decorated. Highly recommend his cakes!

Best Cake Ever

Quick version: buy your cake here. Seriously.

Longer version: we came across Sweet Sensations/3 Dogs Cafe because it was on our wedding venue's suggested vendor list. Interestingly, our DJ also gave an unsolicited recommendation as well. So with that in mind, my fiancé and I scheduled a tasting. Now, it's important to note that we both felt strongly about having a great dessert at our wedding. We're also a little unconventional in that we wanted taste over presentation, planning to opt for sheet cake over more traditional "fancy" option (and, in fact, thought we may be a little judged by some vendors due to this preference).

Off we went to 3 Dogs to meet Steve. It was an excellent experience, learning the 3 Dogs story while trying some of the best cake we've ever had. We spent the next 6 months raving about it to our guests and are happy to report the cakes on the day of our wedding easily met all expectations. On top of that, Steve was wonderful in wanting to provide exactly what worked for us - no hesitation whatsoever on providing delicious sheet cakes for 115 people. (For the record, we did look through the photo album of their more complex cake creations and they too are impressive.)

We chose 3 cakes, each one different, each one delicious. The logistics were quite easy with no glitches. We also had an unusual number of gluten free guests and Steve provided excellent advice on what his bakery could provide and, according to our guests, delivered one of the best GF baked goods they've ever had.

We will be sure to stop by the cafe whenever in the area and recommend that anyone with a wedding on Maine's mid-coast makes sure their cake comes from Steve and team.

Most beautiful, most delicious wedding cake ever!!

My husband and I are still talking about how amazing our wedding cake was a full month after our wedding. Steve and his team created the most beautiful, most delicious wedding cake I have ever had. We ordered the 3 tier cake for approximately 40 people, and it did not disappoint. The bottom (and favorite!) flavor was the carrot cake, the middle was chocolate and the top was vanilla. The whole cake had this amazong buttercream frosting that complimented each flavor, and was not overly sweet. They even used flowers from our florist to beautifully decorate the cake, and delivered it well before the wedding reception at our restaurant. Thanks again Sweet Sensations and 3 Dogs Cafe - we had the cake of our dreams!

Steve was great! We met with him for a tasting and knew he would take care of everything for our wedding. We wanted a smaller simple cake along with a dessert buffet with many different options. He even made a custom dessert that we asked for to surprise the groom with his favorite dessert! Highly recommend this vendor!!

Steve from Sweet Sensations is the BEST. Our cake was gorgeous – a 4 tier, buttercream frosting cake with ruffle edges brushed with gold. Steve hand selected the flowers and placement on the cake for the cascading look I had dreamed of. The cake tasting was so fun – we loved everything! So we did 3 different layers to our cake – vanilla with lemon, chocolate with raspberry and carrot cake. So happy with our choice! Everyone loved that cake. Can’t wait until our 1 year anniversary so we can defrost the leftovers and enjoy all over again!

We had high hopes for our wedding cake! My side of the family has a sweet tooth and pleasing all of the guests was a must! Steve and his team went above and beyond our greatest hopes. We wanted the traditional side of a cake, and the flavors offered were incredible. In addition, we were able to have a spread of blueberry tarts representing our love of Maine. They were a hit!
Our cake looked incredible, the ribbon matched so well with the nautical knots and texture on the cake. The texture even pleased my OCD husband! Our topper matched beautifully and I couldn't imagine a combination working better with our vision. The entire spread added a beautiful touch to our wedding.
My one worry was was that spreading the love between cake and tart may not have enough for everyone or people may be disappointed with one or the other. Our guests loved both and were able to have as much as they liked!
As weddings go, my husband and I did not have either during the wedding night despite that being our goal! (The dance floor calls1) However, we did have cake and tarts throughout the next day and they were everything we could have hoped for! Cake, blueberry tarts, and champagne are a great way to recover from wedding craziness and celebrate being a new couple!
Sweet Sensations and 3Dogs Cafe made a huge impact on our wedding. We couldn't be happier!

Steve and his team made our wedding cake for our August 15th, 2015 wedding. I have never been more pleased with a cake. It was absolutely gorgeous, and breathtaking ...it was unforgettable! The detail they added to our cake was stunning. Nautical elegance was exactly what it portrayed. In addition, we had them make our wedding favors, whoopie pies, which were beautifully packaged and delicious. I would highly recommend them!

Sweet Sensations worked with us to create a gorgeous 3 layer wedding cake topped with fresh berries. They also made a wide assortment of beautiful tarts, cannolis, eclairs, cheesecake bites, and brownies! It was a wonderful addition to our dessert table and there was plenty left over to take to the after party. They worked with our budget and delivered and set up everything at our venue on time. I highly recommend them!

We worked with Steve from Sweet Sensations to design our perfect wedding cake. It was perfect! We did a cake tasting with him and he outlined all of the information he would need, and we continued to work with him and his assistant on our vision as the date got closer. Very professional, responsive and a delight to work with! Plus it was absolutely delicious :)

Amazing! Sweet Sensations was incredibly flexible with accommodating our requests. We wanted assorted desserts and a smaller cake. They provided an unbelievable assortment, each choice was better than the last and the presentation was beautiful. We live several hours from here and may have made a special trip to Camden just to get more rum balls. Our guests are still talking about it. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

If you are looking for an amazing wedding cake in style and taste Steven is your guy! We could not have more pleased with how our cake turned out for our wedding day! The design was beyond perfect, Steven can really do anything! He took our design and made it even better than I could have imagined! We still have guests talking about how delicious the cake was and most have said it was the best cake they have ever had!

We got our cake through Sweet Sensations as part of our package with the Samoset Resort. Unfortunately we were unable to attend a cake tasting as we live in NY and were not able to make it to Maine before the wedding. Luckily we were easily able to arrange for our cake through phone and email and the bakery listened to everything that we said. Many wedding cakes are beautiful to look at but not necessarily that tasty but ours was both. They exactly recreated the picture that we sent and the cake was delicious. I wish I lived closer to visit the bakery more often and we will definitely stop in when we are back in the Rockport area.

Another 10 out of 10 in my book! We ordered a small cake from here as there was already a cake as part of our caterers package. The cake we did have was delicious and beautiful! Our parents wanted to have a send off breakfast for out of town guests the next day which went off with out a hitch. The owner allowed us to make little vouchers to hand out at the wedding and notified all his staff of the plan. Everyone loved it!! They were all extremely accommodating and the food was DELISH!!

Steve Watts of Sweet Sensations is THE BEST!!!!!!! When we discussed the wedding cake with Steve he came up with perfect ideas! We had a three layer cake - all yellow cake - the groom's favorite- but with different fillings and icings. This was supplemented by 3 sheet cakes 2 of which mirrored the wedding cake and one of which was chocolate. And 12 gluten free cupcakes! The cake was fabulous!!! Everyone said it was the best cake they had ever had. Rave reviews all around. Steve is easy to work with and totally reliable. We loved every moment of our time with him. The cake is superb!!!!!! He also delivers all over the place!

We chose not to have a tradtional wedding cake since neither my husband nor I liked cake. We worked with Steve to create fun desserts that would please not only us, but all of our guests. He and his team created three different flavors of mini cheesecakes as well as three different flavors of cupcakes.

The display of the variety of the desserts was absolute perfection! We received so many compliments on the desserts.

Thank you so much Steve and your entire crew for making different desserts that satisfied our needs and tastebuds and still keeping them classy enough for a wedding!

Loved, loved, loved working with Steve to make the vision we had for our wedding cake a reality. The whole experience was nothing short of amazing. He was very professional and had the answers to all of our questions. He offered suggestions based on his knowledge and experience that made all the difference on our wedding day. He created not only a beautiful, scrumptious wedding cake- but also worked with me to suprise my husband with his "grooms cake", a chocolate replica of his lobster pot bouy! To die for! This cake was amazing. Period. There isn't much more to say.

But here goes: We got married in September at the Samoset in Rockport, ME. Sweet Sensations and the Samoset work together, which was really nice. In April we met with the owner(?) at Sweet Sensations and he consulted with us about our wedding and colors, gave us inspiration books to look at etc. By the end of the meeting we had sampled incredibly moist and flavorful cakes, chosen to use alternating tiers of yellow cake and carrot cake and designed our wedding cake. He took copious notes and we thanked him and left.

Cut to the day of the wedding. We had not spoken to them since that day in April. We didn't have to coordinate with the venue to figure out when thy were arriving, who they should meet when they got there etc. The Samoset and Sweet Sensations worked together seamlessly, without me even knowing about it. The cake was beautifully displayed at our reception and I didn't have to think about it once since that day in April when we designed the cake. The ease of this experience was incredible.

Even MORE importantly, the cake is just plain delicious. My husband (the groom) actually went around eating other people's cake. It was that good!

Whether you get married at the Samoset or not, in Maine or not...this cake is worth it!

Our wedding cake was fantastic! I wish that I had a chance to taste both of the flavors because we had three different layers with three different flavors, but I LOVED the carrot cake that I had. Everyone that I talked to at my wedding was really impressed with how great the cake was. Most wedding cakes taste like the store bought standard cake, which no one really likes to eat, but many people were going back for seconds so they could taste all the flavors we had. The cake came out looking amazing too. We did not like the way the fondant tasted at the cake tasting, so we went with a butter cream frosting. They made it look beautiful, with a lot of details with gold leaf, so it matched our cake topper perfectly! I would definitely recommend Steve and his crew at Sweet Sensations to anyone in the area!

Our wedding cake was the best wedding cake we've ever had. The cake was very important to my husband. He comes from a family where his mother made baked goods on a weekly basis. He is a pretty tough cake critic, and our wedding cake from Sweet Sensations with by far the best wedding cake that he has ever had.

We were pleased with the entire cake process. It all started with our tasting. We were blown away by the quality of the cake and the frostings. We had done a tasting at another venue in Rockport that paled in comparison to what we tried at Sweet Sensations. It was a no-brainer. Steve was fantastic to work with. He listened to our ideas, made some suggestions, and was able to see what we wanted for our cake. In addition to a wedding cake, we also wanted a birthday cake for my uncle, whose birthday was that same day. Both cakes were beautiful and delicious! I would recommend Sweeet Sensations' wedding cakes to all brides to be. It is the easiest decision you have to make.

My wedding cake was perfect in every way. It was beautiful, it withstood the humidity, and more than anything it was the best thing I had ever tasted. Even on our year anniversary when we brought the top out of the freezer, it was as good as the day we were married.

Excellent! Stephen is an artist! He did exactly what I asked him to do. He matched the color of the swiss dots to a swatch of cloth I mailed him. He was on time, baked a yummy carrot cake, and made it look like a work of art. I was glad that he made my cake and not one of his workers. Would definitely use him again (actually we have for three or four birthday cakes since my wedding). He's also appeared on Food Network Challenges so you know he's very qualified.

We had the most DELCIOUS wedding cake ever, thanks to Sweet Sensations. We were married almost a year ago and are still eating our cake (we cut the top tier into 12 slices and share one slice each month on our wedding day). It is still delicious! The cake was also beautiful. The only thing I was slightly disappointed in was that on our wedding day I was not consulted when they added the flowers to the cake, and I wasn't 100% thrilled with how it came out. It was still pretty, just not exactly what I had in mind. All in all, I would 100% order another cake from Sweet Sensations - they were a pleasure to work with and delivered a beautiful and delicious product.

Steve did an awesome job with our cake. It was delicious and the decorations were perfect. He really listened to what we wanted. Our guests thought the cake tasted great too! We also appreciated that he was able to accommodate a last-minute tasting, since we were having a destination wedding.

We had an usual themed cake; it was a Celtic forest basically with a tree vines and knot-work. 3 dogs was very accommodating on the design and worked hard to get us what we were looking for. They did a fantastic job and the chocolate raspberry cake was amazing. We definitely recommend them to future Maine Wedding couples.

Steve of Sweet Sensations was fantastic. From the first meeting to wedding day we did not have any difficulty with Steve. We meet with him months in advance to select our cake, due to scheduling conflicts. We also had special dietary needs that had to be taken into account. Steve was very flexible and was able to make suggestions. We meet with him months in advance to select our cake. We heard nothing but positive comments about the cake at the reception. People went back for seconds. The cake was beautiful and simple and fit the theme perfect. The guests could not figure out how he made the cake look like it did. We are looking forward to eating the top layer on our anniversary.

Steve of Sweet Sensations did a fabulous job on our wedding cake! We met with him a few months in advance at his bakery and we were very impressed with the quality of the cake and the ease of selecting a style. The only negative I would say is that we felt like we were talked out of using the color that we wanted to use and into using a different color. When we got the cake we really wished that we had gone with our original color selection because the alternative did not match our theme. Other than that one item the cake was very well done and it was delicious.

Steve and Sweet Sensations was the best! My fall leaves wedding cake was so beautiful and elegant, it was everything I dreamed it would be. Steve was very accomodating and even took the cake on the ferry to Islesboro to deliver my cake. The cake was the highlight of the evening!

The owner/baker is an amazing man. Really worked with our budget and made a beautiful yummy cake. However, his staff was unresponsive and unprofessional.

Our cake was absolutely gorgeous! It also tasted amazing. Everyone loved the cake. They were extremely professional and delivered the cake to our reception, so that was one less thing to worry about. I would highly recommend 3 Dogs Cafe, they are rather pricey though.

These were, hands down, the best cakes I've ever had at a wedding. Our cakes had to travel by boat, so we got 10 regular-sized cakes instead of some tall fancy thing (although they do that too!) I didn't have a clear vision of what I wanted for decoration, so I gave them free rein and they decorated each cake differently within our color scheme. The only complaint I had was that the blue decorations were a little more royal than navy. They were a little more expensive than other places we looked at, but it was completely worth it.

Excellent Wedding Baker, Both Cake & Desserts!

We are so happy that we chose Sweet Sensations at 3 Dogs Cafe for our wedding dessert caterer! We scheduled a tasting at the cafe and got to try SO many different cake/frosting combinations and sweets. We knew we wanted to do a traditional cake-cutting, but also wanted to provide other desserts that guests may enjoy more than cake. Steve suggested doing a smaller cake that would serve about half the guests, and supplementing the dessert table with other sweets such as mini whoopie pies, cheesecake squares, carrot cake squares, chocolate truffles, fruit tarts, etc. My worry was that the smaller cake wouldn’t look as impressive, so Steve recommended using a “dummy layer” on the bottom tier to give the illusion of a full cake. Our cake flavor and design was classic and elegant—lemon/blueberry for two layers and chocolate/raspberry compote for one layer. They both tasted amazing! The rest of the dessert bar was elegant, delicious, and everyone could find something they enjoyed! We loved Steve’s accommodating nature and delivery/set up, too!

I can't say enough about Steven and his business. A longtime family favorite, he provided a perfect wedding cake, delivered to our location (almost three hours away from his business), and everyone was delighted. His talent is exceptional. Prices are up there, and he's incredibly busy so you need to plan way ahead, but for the quality of the product it's totally worth it.

It was difficult to get ahold of Steve at first, but once everything was ordered he really delivered. The treats were so good! Our guests have told us many times that it was the best dessert they've ever had at a wedding. Steve even set up our dessert table and let us incorporate a cake made by a personal friend.

Sweet Sensations did an excellent job with our wedding cake - the final product is exactly what we hoped for and was delivered promptly with professionalism. The only thing I will say is that if you are looking for a creative cake, bring your ideas! Sweet Sensations will do their best to accommodate them but won't necessarily offer up anything new, and are not easy to reach once wedding season approaches. In the end, they came through and the cake was beautiful!

A very tasty cake! Everyone liked the cake. Mmmm. I gave Steve a picture from Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine and he recreated it exactly like it.

The quality of the cake was fantastic, and to date it is still the best wedding cake I have ever tasted. It even tasted good after a year in the freezer! The professionalism and other criteria, however, were less than stellar. There are limited options. I felt rushed, and very unimportant. The person who was supposed to be helping us stuck us in a corner with about three cakes, three frostings, three fillings, and a photo album of things Steve had done in the past. Then this person just left us. Totally alone. Never checking in until the end, when we were clearly sitting around bored. Not really too concerned or interested in our ideas. (Luckily, I had my pushy pants on that day and made sure I was heard.)

Getting Steve on the phone to ask questions, confirm the cake, etc. was next door to impossible. Steve is very busy, so plan your cake as far in advance as possible, especially if you are getting married in the summer or the fall.

Despite all this the final product was, as stated, perfect, in taste and presentation. The cost was not too extreme. I have returned to this vendor, for a cake for my first anniversary.

Our wedding cake was delicious...this part was a 5 star.

I also found Steve to be genuine, caring and try his best to be good to customers.

However, the overall process and end result was disappointing. During our initial visit, I felt rushed and that there were limited choices. It felt forced on us to go with flower decorations over other options. We did this, and the final look did not come out as desired at all; I still get upset when I see photos of the cake.

When the cake was delivered the caterer was instructed to keep it in the fridge as long as possible because it was melting. (?) It wasn't placed out for our wedding until half way through the reception, and this was very disappointing.

Overall, I felt like we were a somewhat small, unimportant project on our wedding weekend and was disappointed with the final result. I would choose something different if I had it to do over, or at minimum be much more assertive and emphasize exactly what we wanted more than I did.
