Amazing experience!

We used Sweet Root Village for my daughter's January wedding, They could not have been more wonderful for work with. They understood everything we wanted and improved on it. They were also able to use the flowers from the ceremony, adjusted slightly for the reception. Their energy and enthusiasm for our event just added to the overall joy of the weekend, I would use them again without hesitation.

Wedding florals of my dreams!

SRV did not disappoint!! I already had my eye on them before I got engaged as a potential vendor but after our first call, I was SOLD! They worked with my planner to create a perfect design deck right off the bat. Our in person mockup was so spot on for our vision that I forgot to even comment on the floral arrangements because they were so perfect. The team was so friendly and communciative- making us feel at ease during the process. The day of florals far surpassed our expectations!

Dream Floral Arrangements

The best of the best

The flowers and professionalism of my dreams!!!!! SRV was responsive and communicative and always made sure I was happy. They worked hard in the pouring rain to make the ceremony flowers happen. They are champions! Plus I could look at the reception florals everyday!!!! Worth every penny!!!

An Unmatched and Unforgettable Experience

Sweet Root Village was one of my favorite vendors to work with. While some typically deprioritize florals because of cost and longevity, I was the most excited about creating arrangements for our wedding. The team at SRV were incredible partners in creating the most gorgeous pieces that truly reflected us as a couple and what we wanted for our wedding. We got married at a museum so there were already many colors that were native to the venue that we wanted our wedding to agree with. SRV used cues from the venue to create something so special and memorable for us that the florals stood out to us and others over other elements of the wedding that people typically favor.

Their process is extremely hands on, so you feel like you’re a part of the process, which was a different experience for us compared to other vendors. With SRV you’re not forced to make decisions based on what you see on paper, instead you’re welcomed into their design space to create and build in partnership with the team. Your opinions and preferences are prioritized and treated with care and no decisions are made without you feeling comfortable. With SRV your dreams can totally come true. Book with them and there is no way you’ll be disappointed.

The most beautiful florals for our Indian fusion Wedding!

Sweet Root was the reason our 4 wedding events throughout the weekend were so warm and inviting while also beautiful and timeless. They not only worked with me to create the exact vision I had proposed, but when they made it come to life, it was more even more incredible. I was also extremely grateful for their willingness to be as intentional and sustainable as possible, given our multiple events, and their ability to repurpose florals and designs in fun and unique ways. I've already used their a la carte floral service, Simply Sweet Root, several times since the wedding because I love their florals so much. Obsessed with our Wedding Florals!

Absolutely obsessed with our wedding flowers! The Sweet Root team was wonderful in helping to pull together our wedding vision for our 10/7/2023 wedding at the Hay Adams hotel. The team was incredibly responsive and flexible in helping to create our design and truly took the time to bring our wedding dreams to life. Every detail was perfect and the florals themselves were STUNNING! The final installation was beyond our imagination. I can't wait to work w the Sweet Root Team again and would HIGHLY recommend to any couples getting married and/or folks looking to complete their event w fresh florals. They are the best!!!!

Sweet Root Village was an absolute joy to work with! They are beyond talented and creative (not to mention great humans)!!!!! They brought everything we could have ever wanted and more to life. I still can’t get over how stunning all of the florals were, our wedding had many different spaces and they decorated every inch with the most stunning flowers ever - it really made our wedding! Their attention to detail and quality of flowers is unmatched. They were always open to any idea we had, and they made whatever we had in mind turn out even better than we could have ever dreamed. They also decorated for our rehearsal dinner/ welcome party, which was equally stunning. We still receive compliments on all of our florals. We truly can’t recommend them enough!!!!!

Words aren’t enough!

SRV literally hit it out of the park! My daughter and myself had very specific and somewhat unique ideas about what we envisioned for her wedding in June 2022. They were so enthusiastic and excited about what we had in mind and were able to create such exquisite floral arrangements that they far surpassed anything we could have imagined. Rachel and her team were so lovely and always responded immediately and were a joy to work with. We almost wished we could hire them again and again and again or at least hang out with them at their wonderful workplace! We feel lucky that they agreed to work with us as they are always extremely busy but it was meant to be. We felt as if we were their only client! SRV is indeed a special company with such creative talent that one would be foolish not to hire them.

Stunning, creative, and personal

The best part about working with Sweet Root was that by collaborating together, we created something more beautiful than I could have imagined on my own. We started with my inspiration but then Rachel and Lauren were able to elevate each element to something totally unique and special for us. Not only were the flowers to die for (especially my bouquet and ceremony flowers!), but in general they are the kind of humans you want to work with and give your money to. If you're not working with Sweet Root what are you even doing?

Working with the team at Sweet Root could not have been a more lovely experience from start to finish. Dream wedding

Sweet Root Village are the best! My husband Dave and I had a pleasure working with Lauren and Rachel. The flowers were fantastic! EVERYONE, and I do mean EVERYONE was talking about how unique and beautiful they were! I especially loved my bouquet and its amazing colors! A large overgrown arch of greenery at the altar was amazing, all the guests complimented on it.

Sweet Root Village has a team of very talented florists!

My husband and I hired Sweet Root Village for our micro wedding in February, 2021. We absolutely enjoyed the whole process that we worked together with SRV. Rachel at SRV was our primary point of contact and she was so very sweet. Even though it was a small scale event due to covid, Rachel and the team perfected every single detail. From the start, Rachel was very fun and personable to chat with. I showed her my pinterest board and she was able to immediately grasp my vision. Again, even though it was a small event, Rachel was so attentive to my requests and dedicated the time to put together a customized color board and all the details for us. SRV is truly a group of floral experts. Rachel was able to provide her expert opinions to make our vision better than we could imagine. It was so great to meet Rachel and the team in-person on the day of our micro-wedding too. Their floral design made all the difference at our venue and made the day so magical, dreamy and romantic for us. We are so so happy with our decision to choose Sweet Root Village. Thank you!

Fantastic Florist

The ladies are Sweetroot Village are truly top-notch. They were able to work within my budget after I explained my priorities to them, and they came up with a some great ideas to really help me get the most bang for my buck. The flowers were certainly the major decorative element at my mid-November tented reception, and they put together so many impressive pieces, including several installations, that really stole the show. They are also easy and fun to work with. They are fabulous and I can't recommend them more highly.

An absolute dream - they are incredible in every way!!!

From start to finish I knew we were in the best hands with Lauren, Rachel, and the entire SRV team. Not only were they so kind and easy to work with, but from the very first meeting, we knew that they were going to absolutely nail my vision as well. They listened to what we were looking for, gave great advice, and also gave us options for the absolute perfect florals! I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and they didn't flinch when I changed my mind and sent revisions to the original proposal we had agreed to. I never had a single doubt that what they put together would be absolutely perfect. Day of, it rained as they were setting up the ceremony florals and the team huddled in the venue's gazebo until it passed and they could finish! The flowers and all the little touches (candles, centerpiece vessels, etc.) were absolutely perfect, and the team just nailed every detail. I cannot recommend them enough! They are the best of the best, don't expect any over-done stuffy cheap-looking florals here, these ladies are like flower artists! I cannot recommend them enough, they are worth every penny!!!

January Modern DC Wedding

As a bride who didn’t know what she wanted and had no floral vision, I struggled with dictating what I wanted. Fortunately SRV and my planner worked with me and came through with the most beautiful floral and candle design! They came up with 3 different arrangements that worked well together and the room was stunning. The bouquets were all gorgeous and our chuppah flowers were more than I could have imagine. The SRV team was honest about what we could do within my price range and where I should spend for my bang. Loved them!!!!

Vineyard Wedding in September

Let me just say that Sweet Root Village will exceed your expectations 100 times over. It starts with a proposal, complete with pictures, detailed descriptions and pricing. It is so well organized and thorough. It tells you right away that they know what they’re doing. Planning was easy - Rachel listened, offered suggestions, and reassured me that she would handle everything, including the table assignment display. Everything her team touched was beautiful and creative. We had an outdoor ceremony with a round moon arbor, covered with greenery and white flowers. It was spectacular. Our reception room included four chandeliers, two fireplaces, and two bars in addition to the usual table centerpieces. SRV’s team worked their magic and when you entered the ballroom, it took your breath away. It was a showstopper --- even the male guests commented on how beautiful it was.
There are no words to really describe just how talented this group is. Hopefully, these pictures will give you a glimpse of why they are the BEST.

Absolutely amazing: Professional, Kind, Inspiring, and Innovative

Sweet Root Village made our English Garden dreams come true. The entire team is extremely professional, creative, and an overall joy to work with. Our wedding was in June 2019, and we came to SRV with MAJOR asks: cascading vines, centerpieces “growing” out of the tables, flowers wrapping around the staircase, the most stunning bridal bouquets, and so much more. From our very first meeting, they treated us like family and we felt like we were a part of their team. We felt like they really saw OUR vision, and completely transformed our venue, a gorgeous estate, into an old English Countryside & enchanted garden, and they exceeded all of our expectations. Perfection!!

Rachel, Lauren and the entire Sweet Root Village team were essential at making our wedding a beautiful event. We interviewed 3 floral designers. From the beginning, we knew that Sweet Root was the right choice. The initial meeting was terrific and engaging. Rachel and Lauren asked us a series of questions that allowed them to determine who we were and the look / vibe we wanted. They had a laptop with numerous arrangements to give us a sense of the options and colors available to us. Sweet Root worked with us to choose the vases, candle and votive holders, ultimately deciding on a smoky green, gray and silver theme that complemented the arrangements and linens.

Our guests were more than impressed!!!

Finally, we are a gay couple. One never knows how someone will react. Rachel and Lauren made us feel comfortable, accepted and valued for the outset!

Perfection!

My family used Sweet Root Village for my brother’s wedding a few years ago, and we absolutely blown away by them. When my wedding came around, they were the only vendor that we immediately knew was a must have! Before we even picked a date, we checked to make sure SRV was available ! Rachel, Lauren and the entire SRV team wowed us every step of the way. After our first planning meeting, we could not have been more excited! Throughout the entire process, the team was fun, attentive and super easy to work with. I still feel emotional when I think about seeing all their hard work at the wedding. All of the flowers were beyond my wildest dreams. I will never be able to get over the absolutely stunning, creative, jaw-dropping flower displays from bouquets, to the escort table, to the ceremony room, to the cocktail hour, to the reception. SRV made our wedding dreams come true!

From beginning to end, working with SRV was a fantastic experience. Lauren and Rachel are lovely and I immediately knew during our first meeting with them that our wedding planner had suggested the right floral vendor. As I learned more about their business, I was inspired by their honest and transparent approach and ultimately could not have been more thrilled to be supporting two wonderful female entrepreneurs. Lauren and Rachel were extremely responsive, going through multiple iterations of a contract with us as we worked to nail down the specifics of our wedding day florals and answered my many questions quickly and with a smile on their faces! They were also extremely open to re-using arrangements throughout the day to ensure we were getting the best "bang for our buck", and proactively offered suggestions as to where we could cut back to ensure we stayed within our budget without sacrificing the overall aesthetic we were trying to achieve. Given the positive experience leading up to our big day, I knew our flowers would be beautiful - but SRV's work exceeded even my greatest expectations. The true show-stopper was an elevated arrangement they created for our head table, which was so beautiful that our guests are still talking about it several months after our wedding. My husband and I are so thankful to the incredible SRV team for making our wedding dreams come true!

A MUST HAVE wedding vendor!

Seriously, 5 stars are not nearly enough to describe how amazing Sweet Root Village is! Working with Sweet Root was a joy (seriously, Rachel and team are the nicest and happiest people you will ever meet) from beginning to end. They are masters of their craft and we were truly amazed at the product they delivered. They made us feel so special through the planning process and we never once doubted that they would make our wedding day perfect. They were awesome in helping craft our vision while being conscious of our budget and working well with all our other vendors.

Great team, very flexible

Sweet Root was great at helping us plan a great wedding. They were very responsive to our needs, listened to what we were thinking designwise, offered us suggestions for improvements, and were VERY flexible as our event needs changed. They even offered a few ways in which we could save money by reusing displays (moving them from the ceremony to the dinner tables) which was more work and less money for them, but much appreciated by us! They were nice, friendly, responsive, great people to work with, and we'd use them again for another event in a heartbeat! Thank!

Words cannot capture how AMAZING Sweet Root Village is to work with!!! From the very beginning of my wedding planning process, they were incredibly responsive about not just florals but also a zillion other aesthetic details - lighting, photography, linens...you NAME it, and they were there in a second to offer the most generous, thoughtful insight. The girls are truly spectacular - passionate, professional, creative, patient, flexible, committed, and, above all, KIND (If you can, visit their studio in Virginia...it will seriously want to make you leave your job and work for them!).

When they delivered my and my bridesmaids' bouquets to the getting-ready location, my mom and my mother-in-law said in unison, "Those are the most beautiful flowers I have EVER seen." But, I have to say, nothing can beat the feeling of walking into our reception, which Sweet Root had TRANSFORMED into the most magical, ethereal, utterly romantic fairyland. It took my - and everyone else's - breath away.

Quality flowers on a budget!

My husband and I were operating a tight budget for flowers as it was a cost we didn't feel like prioritizing for our already expensive wedding. We were also willing to be flexible with how grand/opulent our flower arrangements were going to be, so when we found Sweet Root Village's s a la carte service, Simply Sweet Root, we knew we had found a winner. You can order from Simply Sweet Root's site up to 30 days before your wedding, and they have a nice variety of clean, simple, and chic collections to choose from. If you want something easy and no-nonsense for your floral arrangements...look no further!

We had a couple of last minute additions to our order very close to our wedding date, and they were so accommodating and responsive! My husband and his groomsmen were in charge of picking up the flowers from their storefront and it seems like everything was nicely packed and ready to go by time we specified. Our centerpieces, bouquets, corsages/boutonnieres all looked fantastic. Although our flowers were not the star of our wedding, we are so grateful that we found such a great solution for our laid back floral needs!

Stunning florals, dream team

We could not be happier that we chose sweet root village for our florist! We had so much fun with them designing our florals, and they more than delivered! As someone who knows almost nothing about flowers, I was so grateful they were able to turn our vision into a reality. We were floored when we saw the space and the bouquets (so many guests took pics of the tall arrangements!). They also did an incredible job with our escort wall and provided a custom-built shelf to make it look amazing. Above and Beyond

Choosing Sweet Root Village as our florist was the best wedding decision we ever made! They were a pleasure to work with - always lovely, always available and always responsive during meetings and emails. More importantly, they understood our wedding vision perfectly and then exceeded every expectation we could have imagined. We requested a lush, garden ambiance and found ourselves in the middle of sprawling trees, textured greens and bountiful white flowers. They practically transformed our ballroom at the Pendry Hotel in Baltimore into a magestic garden. To say that our guests were blown away is an understatement, there isn't a single person who hasn't gushed over the ballroom and its outstanding design. Rachel, Lauren and the SRV team are incredibly talented and they deserve every bit of praise for making our wedding into the most gorgeous event that we have ever seen. The fall wedding of my dreams

My flowers were absolutely PERFECT!! Rachel and Lauren did such a wonderful job at making my wedding day (I think) the most beautiful wedding in the world :). They were so responsive via email and very creative with different ideas of how we could add to the table setting/escort card table, etc... After the wedding, we had a brunch and the transition of the flowers to the brunch venue was seamless and people after got to take a centerpiece home and enjoy the flowers all the next week. The flowers were fresh, so tasteful, and the centerpieces had great dimensions. I would absolutely work with them again in a heartbeat and can't thank them enough for making my day JUST PERFECT!

The creative vision, friendly suggestions, and professionalism of Lauren and all the Sweet Root Village team are beyond compare. The floral pieces they created for my daughter’s wedding were jaw-dropping magnificent.

The bridal party bouquets were simply gorgeous, and I cannot begin to describe how stunningly beautiful the arrangements were for the outdoor wedding ceremony and the indoor reception décor. The outdoor pieces created the perfect backdrop for the beauty of the moment when my daughter and her husband exchanged their vows. At Lauren’s suggestion, those arrangements did double duty when they were transferred indoors as part of our reception décor. Even my husband, who usually doesn’t notice flowers, candles, or decorations, was overwhelmed by the beauty created by Sweet Root. At the end of the evening, Sweet Root transferred the compote arrangements and greenery to where our breakfast was going to be held in the resort for the next day, so we could continue to enjoy their splendor!

From the very beginning, Lauren listened to my daughter’s vision and worked with us to create the perfect ambiance for her reception. The variety of table pieces and arrangements were spectacular– high arrangements on pedestals, low compotes, candles with greenery – all worked together to create the perfect look. We cannot thank you enough for designing such a beautiful setting. Lauren and the amazing team at Sweet Root are simply the BEST! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

We were so lucky to have been able to have Sweet Root Village as part of our day. They approached each conversation from the very beginning with a smile and warmth as though you've been friends for a long time. It was clear that they tried to embraced our personalities in the design while also providing their expert opinion/artistic eye to enhance the vision. It felt like more of a collaboration and you could see that they are inspired by their clients. SRV understands that new ideas may come along the planning process and they are open and excited to hear about your ideas. No surprise, the wedding day outcome was stunning. One of my favorite moments from our wedding day was being able to hug Rachel to say, "thank you." It was clear the that she was just as excited about celebrating us as the guests at the wedding.

Sweet Root Village is an outlier among their competitors who we met with. It is a competitive market with talented individuals all around, but SRV makes each event/client feel like they are exclusively focused on you, even if there are 3 other events happening that day. Wedding planning is stressful and I'm really glad I picked Sweet Root Village because they made what could have been a difficult experience, easy. I first fell in love with Sweet Root when I saw a picture of my wedding venue that they had decked out with hanging greenery. I knew then and there that I needed to have that at my wedding and reached out to them for a meeting. We went through photos I collected on pinterest as well as some of their boards for inspiration and they drew out my vision on the proposal. It was honestly so fun to work with them, and throughout the nearly 10 months from when I hired them to the wedding they were soo responsive to any questions/concerns and proposal edits. On my wedding day my husband and I wanted photos at the Jefferson memorial however it was brutally cold and my bouquet was basically dead by the time we got back to the hotel for the ceremony--I was so upset thinking I ruined it but immediately when we walked in they grabbed the bouquet and fixed it up. They truly are flower geniuses and also just generally really nice human beings that are enjoyable to be around. You definitely want Sweet Root at your wedding!!

SRV was our top favorite vendor to work with throughout our wedding planning process. Not only are their flowers and décor are stunning (we have been getting compliments on them for months after our wedding), but they were excellent to work with. They had impeccable communication with us throughout, were incredibly responsive and thoroughly answered all of our questions within hours. My partner and I did all of the planning ourselves, and having an extremely responsive vendor meant so much to us in the chaos of wedding planning. The team feels very much like a family-run affair, which we loved when we first met with them in person, when we were deciding on vendors. Other vendors we met with made us feel a bit more like we were one of many on a conveyor belt of events, but SRV made us feel like it was truly a personal experience. We made a few (potentially weird) requests for incorporating certain things into our décor and they executed with aplomb and excitement. We also made a few last minute changes a few weeks before the wedding, and SRV was flexible and happily reorganized some of their plan to accommodate our requests.

Be aware that if you live in DC and don’t have a car, their warehouse is a little bit tricky to get to as it’s not accessible by public transportation, but that being said SRV went above and beyond to accommodate us carless folks—picking up vases from us at our apartment in downtown, meeting us at our tasting across town, and just being so nice and considerate to the fact that we were struggling a bit without a car.

Tl;dr: amazing communication and attentiveness, personal connection, very flexible, kind and awesome team of ladies to work with. And obviously, gorgeous flowers!

Book them right now!!!! Sweet Root Village is honestly the most amazing florist in the DMV area. They came out to Annapolis to work on my wedding and they did a phenomenal job. Prior to the wedding day I was so nervous that I wasn't communicating my vision well enough but the florals they showed up with were AMAZING, show stopping pieces of art. Seriously these ladies are the best to work with and they're always listening and adapting to your needs. If you see their portfolio you'll see they make amazing work no matter your style. Seriously, I was very grateful to have found them and their work is worth every penny! Plus once you get to know these women, you know that they put their heart and soul into making every wedding/event amazing!
I would also send them ideas of things I was interested in doing all the time, and they always gave practical advice. They were never trying to up-sell me, but genuinely wanted me to have the best day so when I considered the idea of a wreath decorating our getaway car they asked great questions like how long will it be parked outside, will guests be able to see it, etc. Before wasting tons of money on something that wouldn't be appreciated, they were able to help me figure out whats best for the venue and my needs.
Seriously amazing ladies!! Book them :)

Lauren and Rachel delivered our dream-come-true. They lent creative advice with confidence and managed the process with patience and a genuine commitment to us. When I stole away from cocktails to take a peek inside the reception space, I couldn't believe my eyes! What I saw was the image I had held in my mind's eye but wasn't sure could ever be created. Lauren and Rachel are absolutely the most talented and professional florist to work with on your wedding! We had our wedding at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Old Town Alexandria - a pretty bare-bones concrete building. We were getting grief from family and friends that it would be very industrial and plain looking...this was not the case at all! SRV constructed a massive 8' tall x 10' wide flower wall of roses in addition to 19 tall centerpieces for our big day - it was a total transformation and looked amazing in the space! Our guests were extremely impressed and are still talking about it!

From the first day that we contacted Lauren and Rachel, they have responded quickly and professionally to all emails. They worked tirelessly with us to bring down our total cost while still maintaining our vision of a blush floral-themed wedding! They were open to all ideas and never hesitated from the challenge. Full disclosure - we talked with 2 other florists from the area, and they were pushing us to go with fake flowers for the flower wall! SRV never tried to pare down our vision and happily took on all of our over-the-top ideas.

A few months before the wedding, Lauren and Rachel sent a care package to our apartment - this was so unexpected and such a nice gesture - it shows how much they really care about their clients.

A month before the wedding, they did a mock up of the centerpieces for us. This was hugely appreciated, since we were right in the midst of wedding stress - it was a great reminder that our flowers were going to be gorgeous and not to worry!

On the wedding day, we heard nothing about the set up and tear down of the flowers - a huge relief that even if there were snafus, we were not clued in to them! SRV really has it together and are a well-oiled machine. They are self-sufficient and do an AMAZING job! I felt heard throughout the entire process, but also felt at ease to let them do their thing - artistically. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! It is impossible to adequately express our appreciation and sheer wonder at the amazing talent and generosity of spirit of Sweet Root Village.

SRV accomplished, with our tiny budget, what only a fairy godmother could have done!

We were simply blown away by everything their hands touched.

The flowers for the wedding party were exquisite!

And it took our breath away when we walked into Oxon Hill Manor. SRV somehow managed to make the venue appear simultaneously grand and elegant but also as warm and intimate as our own home.

With nearly half of our 250 guests under 20, one of the centerpieces of our reception was an activity room complete with legos, games, books, and selfie props. The way SRV lovingly placed each item--it looked like the playroom of Jane and Michael Banks!

And the break down after the party was like something right out of Camelot--bravo to Rachel's brother-in-law and Lauren's sister!

We feel strongly that no matter the size of the budget, there is only one florist anyone should ever consider for a happy, magical wedding--Sweet Root Village! Thank you for a perfect day--you are quite simply the BEST!

I cannot adequately describe how incredibly amazing the team at Sweet Root Village is. They made my wedding the most perfect day, and took so much stress off my shoulders. From our initial consultation to the day-of, the team at Sweet Root Village was always so responsive, thoughtful, positive, and just plain excited for us. They provided the decor at our wedding, including the most gorgeous flowers/greenery on our arbor and the most stunning centerpieces. Their artistic vision is truly one-of-a-kind, and I was so impressed by their ability to create the most unique and jaw dropping pieces. I still have wedding guests telling me what a beautiful sight it was, and that is all thanks to Sweet Root Village. What I also love is that Rachel, Lauren, and Rachele become your best friends throughout the process - they are the sweetest, funniest, and most genuine girls, and it was truly an honor to work with them for our big day. Their team is also so professional and lovely - in particular, our parents were amazed at how efficiently they took down the decor at the end of the night as vendors were packing up. Seriously, there are not enough wonderful things to say about all of them. I promise you that choosing Sweet Root Village for your big day is the best decision you'll make!

Sweet Root Village worked with us by providing the flowers and photography. Both Lauren and Rachel did a phenomenal job in executing what I had envisioned for my wedding day. I highly recommend these talented ladies to anyone. We are still getting compliments on our photos and flowers!!

Our first consultation was great. I went in knowing what direction I was going for as far as colors for my flowers along with Pinterest photos. They took my vision and made them my own and in the end did an amazing job!! The flowers were perfect!

Lauren was the only photographer on site and seemed to have captured every moment beautifully. She was very professional, and very organized. We went over the pictures we wanted her to capture prior to our wedding day and it helped put me at ease that she knew what shots I wanted. She was able to manage getting our large family together and helped us stick to our schedule.

We had originally planned on having our ceremony outside, however it was raining that day and so plan B was implemented very quickly with no issues. Their staff set up everything indoors for our ceremony and then rearranged everything back accordingly for the reception. Everything ran smoothly. The flowers were gorgeous, luscious, and vibrant and the pictures are amazing. If you are looking for a professional, crazy talented, and creative bunch – these are your girls!

Both Rachel and Lauren were creative and thoughtful in putting together conceptual ideas for our wedding ceremony. From our first meeting, they put us at ease and were willing to work through our budget with some beautiful and creative ideas. Since this was our first time getting married, they brought forward ideas and variations and showed a LOT of creativity and style in putting together a special look for our wedding. Since we are a same sex couple, they showed a tremendous amount of thoughtfulness in just just delivering a "cookie cutter" approach to any wedding, but something that reflected our own personal style. I would highly recommend and think their local connection as well as personal hands on approach should make any couple feel GREAT about their big day. They exceeded our expectations when it came time to final delivery - it was FLAWLESS and left us completely at ease during our big day. Thank you so much!

Sweet Root Village is phenomenal. After one look at their portfolio I made the easy decision to hire them as our wedding day florist. For our wedding flowers I was hoping for a traditional (yet whimsical) and classic (without being stuffy) look and the SRV made the vision come to life! During our consultation I had no idea how to describe my vision, but the SRV team listened and were able to translate my rough descriptions into the most beautiful sketch to give me an idea of what the arrangements could look like. It was incredible--they just understood! The SRV team asked the right questions and were able to offer recommendations that tied in perfectly with the rest of the wedding day look. There is no way that I could have made the decisions without their help! The team worked within my budget to deliver the most beautiful reception arrangements, flowers for the wedding party, and the showstopper--my bridal bouquet (it had artichokes!). I can’t say enough great things about Sweet Root Village!

Sweet Root Village was one of those vendors who I knew I could trust to complete my vision on my wedding day. They are truly the best! SRV helped transform my venue and make the space more personal to my fiancé and me. Planning the flowers was definitely the best part of the wedding for me. Lauren and her team are incredibly talented and so much fun to work with.

Working with Lauren at Sweet Root Village was such a blast! She is so creative and wonderful to work with that it made the overwhelming task of picking decor/flowers such a breeze! She was always receptive to our thoughts and ideas and was able to take our small nuggets of creativity and blow them out into something beautiful. Their flowers, centerpieces and decor (including a handmade chuppah) made the event fabulous - everyone is still talking about it!

The Sweet Root ladies are some of my most favorite people. They are so creative, so fun, so welcoming and warm. Every bit of the process was fun and they could not be more helpful. Rachel and Lauren were awesome to work with! My planner offered me a couple of flower vendors to choose from, but the moment I saw SRV's work I fell in love. I used SRV's full package of flowers, photography and day of coordination for my wedding this past summer. They made the process very easy for me as I was planning my wedding from abroad and even skyped with me to discuss details. I worked directly with the owners Lauren and Rachel and the whole process had a nice personal touch.

On the day itself, it felt like everything was taken care of and the flowers ended up being even more beautiful than I could have imagined. I had only booked one photographer for the day, but they decided to add a second shooter for me at no extra charge and I'm really glad that they did. I recommend a second shooter for anyone who is on the fence like I was. The pictures turned out beautiful and I could not have asked for a better group to work with.

Overall, I would highly recommend their services and would book them again for myself.

Rachel, Lauren, and the rest of the Sweet Root Village team are absolutely fabulous. They took care of our flowers, engagement photography, and wedding photography. Sweet Root Village was incredible to work with - they completely understood my vision and were able to pull together al my different ideas into a cohesive look. Throughout the planning process they were very responsive and flexible. For example, adjusting the number of bouquets needed, suggesting alternative options if I was concerned about impact value compared to cost. I would absolutely recommend SRV to any couple planning a wedding. They were a completely easy, stress-free vendor to deal with, and are extremely talented and reasonably priced.

The girls who work there are amazing to work with. They totally got my vision and made it come true. They customized a plan based on my pinterest that was exactly what I wanted. They were experts about the types of florals and design that would work for the time of year and venue. Their designs are so unique and really different from typical wedding flowers.

Sweet Root Village turned my idea and inspiration boards to reality!! My wedding was at the Torpedo Factory and I had a vision that was industrial chic. The flowers, candles, votives, and vintage bar cart for the cake were GLAMOROUS!! Everyone was talking about how transformative the venue was and I have SRV to thank for that:)

Rachel and Lauren (in particular Lauren) were fabulous to work with. Our wedding was in the fall and in terms of flowers I wanted rich jewel toned autumnal colors, lots of greenery/vines, and a ton of flowers---Sweet Root Village more than delivered! The ceremony and dancing took place in a gorgeous clear tent, and in the tent I wanted to have jewel toned flowers dripping over a large 20 ft. boxwood wall as the backdrop to the ceremony. What they created was stunning! It deserves to be in a magazine! In addition to the boxwood wall-they draped the antique crystal chandeliers in the tent with vines, which helped to really created a gorgeous garden for us to get married in and dance the night away in. In terms of the bouquets, they used the most beautiful flowers in perfect jewel toned colors. The bouquets were a little deconstructed (as requested)--very organic looking. Each bouquet was wrapped with a blue jewel toned velvet ribbon (mine was wrapped with an ivory velvet ribbon). The bouquets were the perfect size. I specifically asked that they not be too big. I didn't want them to block anyone's dress. In addition to the bouquets, they also created a gorgeous floral collar for our English Mastiff to wear, that was so beautiful, she didn't want to take it off! The reception space (which was a ballroom built in the early 1920s with gorgeous chandeliers) was filled with crystal candelabras that Sweet Root Village found especially for our wedding, and they paired them with tall tapers and tea candles to create the most romantic glow. The head table was long and had flowers and greenery cascading down the middle of the table, up the candelabras, and then down the ends of the table to the floor. It was beautiful. The table arrangements on the surrounding round tables in the ballroom were beautiful dark jewel toned blooms that branched out organically from the the low vessel they were nestled in. Bottom Line- Sweet Root Village is amazing. Book them now!

I chose to use Sweet Root Village as it was one of the florists listed in the Morrison House Elopement Package. I am so glad I chose them. We worked with Lauren and she has an incredibly bubbly and friendly personality but takes her job very seriously and is incredibly passionate about it. We had an in-person meeting where she was very attentive and took excellent notes when I showed her pictures of what I wanted. Lauren and Rachel's passion for what they do came out in their work. My bouquets, alter garland, and dining room centerpieces turned out more beautifully than I imagined. My wedding was in October 2015 and I had a few unusual color requests such as blue thistles paired with champagne roses, leucadendron for a red accent, succulents, and light orange roses. When I saw the bouquets, boutonnieres, and the BEAUTIFUL garland and flowers draped over the door for the alter, I was floored. Everything turned out more beautifully than I imagine. I wanted simple centerpieces so I requested of birch branches in water for the dining room. Lauren recommended using branches with red berries to add a pop of color. Again, it turned out beautifully and better than I imagined.

We booked flowers one year in advance. Lauren was incredibly flexible when I would randomly call and make requests to change things. She was happy to make the changes and also made recommendations when I asked her opinion. She was very prompt in providing a contract and subsequent updated contracts when I made changes. I felt that I received a lot of personalized attention from these two and would absolutely recommend them for your wedding or special event.

Lauren and the Sweet Root team were absolutely wonderful. Finding a florist was hands down the most stressful part of the vendor process for me. I felt that nobody was really listening to me and that the quotes we were receiving were so high I was beginning to feel that I would really have to compromise on my vision for the flowers. This was until I found Sweet Root, meeting Lauren for the first time I was immediately at ease and could tell that she understood what I wanted. We had a small miscommunication in our final coordination call and ended up having that a little later then we should but Lauren worked late into the evening to make sure that I understood everything that she was planning prior to placing the order. The final product was breathtaking, the venue, National Museum of Women in the Arts, is such a beautiful space that it was important the flowers compliment and not detract from the space. The result was perfect and I could not have been happier. It was also very important to me that the flowers get donated to the nursing home where my grandmother was, some florists thought this was an over the top request while Sweet Root thought it was great and were more then accommodating.

Sweet Root Village did the flowers for our wedding at the Decatur House, and they were absolutely amazing! They worked within our budget, but still managed to create centerpieces that fit our vision perfectly and looked like we had spent a million bucks on them. So many of our guests commented that the displays looked like something out of a magazine! They were also very easy to work with, and adding items (e.g., a beautiful garland for the entrance of our venue, and an adorable crown for our flower girl) was a snap, even very close to the wedding date. Everything was just perfect -- I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Sweet Root Village (SRV) is simply the best event planners. They do it all. I am a highly satisfied repeat customer. We used all three services for two daughters’ weddings: florals, photography, and day-of planning. We were initially attracted to Sweet Root Village when my artistic daughter saw some of Lauren Anderson’s wedding photos online. We met with Lauren, saw more of her beautiful wedding photography, and learned that SRV also provides florals and day-of planning. Sold! When we walked into the wedding, every table looked like a magazine cover. There was eye candy everywhere! I am talking now about BOTH weddings. My daughters chose different styles/venues, yet both were perfection! I have never seen a wedding, not in person, not in a wedding magazine picture, not in a bridal TV show that was more beautiful than my daughter’s wedding this past weekend. The decorating team is led by Rachel Bridgewood and she has a painter’s eye for beauty, color, and flow. Lauren is equally as artistic with her coordinating floral arrangements. Our day-of coordinator was Julie Kwon. Julie kept us organized months before the wedding, at the rehearsal and on the day of the event. Her advice and feedback were invaluable. During the wedding day, Julie kept everything on task and on time without ever making her presence obvious. The event happened like a well-choreographed dance – thanks to Julie. It is difficult to put into words how invaluable SRV is to a wedding. Let me just say that my son is getting married next year and I have already reserved the date. I can’t imagine doing it without Sweet Root Village.

Lauren & Rachel did such an amazing job on the flowers for our wedding at The Morrison House. The centerpieces, the bouquet, the boutonniere...everything was beautiful and perfect. I had a request for them- to attach to my bouquet the cross my fiancé gave me that was blessed by Pope Francis. The put in on beautifully and I was so happy with their presentation.

Lauren and Rachel, the owners of Sweet Root, are hands down the most talented and delightful florists. My daughter and I had a very specific vision and they translated our vision to perfection. From the most beautiful Chuppah decorated with Cherry Blossom branches and white hydrangeas (it was magical and a dream come true), to the personal bouquets which included black eyed anemones for the bride, and to the table centerpieces that reflected the soft, romantic wedding colors, they created a breathtaking backdrop for our guests to enjoy. Not only are they talented, but they are also a joy to work with. They are professional, creative, responsive and kind. They also know how to work within a budget. They go above and beyond to bring nature to life for your event. Every guest told us what a beautiful atmosphere we created within the venue and this is due in large part to the tireless efforts of Lauren and Rachel. We would highly recommend them without hesitation and would use them again for our next event.

What an absolute dream to work with the SRV team! They were creative and extremely flexible. I couldn't imagine working with an easier and more awesome team. The SRV ladies created flower crowns for our bridal party and for me as well and they were out of this world! The installation they created in the barn where the reception was held was truly magical. Lauren and Rachel have been a joy to work with from start to finish! Even in the midst of their busy wedding seasons and growing business, they made us feel like our photos and flowers were their top priority. Sweet Root Village did the bridal party flowers for my wedding. As I had a fairly limited flower vocabulary, I need a great deal of help in translating my vision for my bouquet. Sweet Root Village absolutely nailed it, turning my "this, not that" and "more like this than that" directions into an absolutely beautiful arrangement. What can I say about Lauren and Rachel other than that they are absolutely amazing?? I was a picky bride and carefully selected my vendors after interviewing multiple companies. Lauren listened and created the perfect flowers. The bouquets were just right size, flower, quality. If we could rate her a 6 for value, that's what she would get!

These women are the BEST. From our first meeting with them, we knew we wanted to work with them. We worked with both Lauren and Rachel. We discussed our style with them and they encouraged us to send them ideas of what we wanted. We changed what we wanted in our contract several times and they were quick to make updates and incredibly understanding about us wanting to stay within a budget (and it changed toward the end).

I was blown away when I walked into the bridal suite at our venue and saw my bouquet and the bridesmaid bouquets. It was exactly the style I wanted and the flowers they picked were beautiful and the colors were perfect. The colors looked amazing with the navy blue bridesmaid dresses. At other weddings with other florists, the flowers can look generic and not special, but Lauren and Rachel are so good at what they do and it was unlike anything I'd ever seen. We had a big piece hanging on the barn where our ceremony was and it was stunning (and I'm sure not easy to hang up). Our ceremony pictures look astounding because of those flowers. PLUS, they did our centerpieces and we received compliments on how beautiful the flowers were.

I highly highly recommend Sweet Root Village as a florist for any couple getting married!

Lauren at Sweet Root Village was an indispensable part of our wedding planning; she did so much more than just photography and became a trusted advisor in our plans. The photography was excellent; we felt very comfortable working with Lauren, and she has a great eye for capturing the good moments. On the floral side, we had beautiful bouquets and boutonierres made up as well.

Lauren and Rachel did the flowers for my wedding and they were absolutely stunning!!! I got so many compliments on them!! Everything was just perfect, and they were so amazing to work with!! I HIGHLY recommend these ladies!!!!!!

We used Sweet Root Village for our flowers & décor for our fall wedding. They were perfect!!! Everything came out so stunningly beautiful and I couldn't be happier with the result. Throughout the process they were super easy to work with and very responsive. I definitely recommend them!!

Sweet Root Village is simply amazing. They provided photography, floral/decor, and day-of-coordination services for my wedding and all were superb. The flowers/decor turned out even better than I imagined, and the photography is stunning. The day-of-coordination was critical to ensuring the day ran smoothly. Sweet Root was wonderful to work with! They did the flowers and photography for our wedding. They were super friendly and always professional. They are extremely creative. Our centerpieces were absolutely gorgeous! Our pictures came out amazing! I would absolutely recommend them for either service to anyone looking.
