Best Wedding Venue in WV!
We had the perfect wedding thanks to Tama and her Sweet Retreat!
Tama met with us months in advance to walk through our plans and help bring our vision to life. She was so flexible, even when we needed to add an extra night to our reservation a month before the wedding. And on the wedding weekend, she was right there, managing the delivery of our tables and chairs (which she also supplies upon request!), helping our coordinator set up decorations, and even supplying extra decor and tableware (when we were inevitably missing a few things). Through it all, she was cheerful, kind, and incredibly supportive. We can't recommend this venue enough!
If you're looking for the perfect outdoor wedding in West Virginia (I mean, c'mon, look at these shots), you won't find better quality or value than Sweet Retreat! -

We eloped last winter, and decided to have a celebration with friends and family in the fall, since that's the time of year we had our first date! We called it our "After Party". We had a not-so-traditional hand fasting performed, and actually "tied the knot", followed by a pig roast and bonfire.
Sweet Retreat was the perfect choice for our celebration. The sky and pops of fall colors even matched our wedding palette. The venue is nestled in the woods. The log "sanctuary" had power for music and lighting for an evening ceremony. The reception area had room for a banquet, a dancing area, and a huge firepit to keep us cozy into the night. Firewood was provided. They even have a large pig roaster on site, which was very convenient. The kitchen is large with warming ovens to keep things warm until they were needed, which made the rehearsal dinner a breeze also.
Tama Sweet is the owner and made sure everything ran smoothly. We appreciate everything that she did to keep us calm and for adding creative touches to our theme. Her work is shown in some of these pics. A good time was had by all. In fact, we didn't take many photos because we were having too much fun, but the professional pics should be ready soon! We highly recommend this place to couples! -

Perfect place for our wedding!
We picked the most perfect place for our wedding! Everything turned out so beautifully. The host, Tama, quickly made us feel like family! Her help alone was worth every penny spent. Our day wouldn’t have been the same without her. The house was big enough for the wedding party and our family to get ready comfortably. Everyone that came complimented our choice. 10/10 recommend The Sweet Retreat. -
