We chose Sweet Hearts Patisserie for our wedding cake, and the entire experience was seamless, enjoyable, and absolutely delicious. The cake tasting sampler was fantastic, but we had a custom flavor combination in mind. Their team brought our vision to life and exceeded all of our expectations. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how amazing the cake tasted, and it looked exactly like the inspiration photos we provided. We’re already looking forward to enjoying it again on our anniversary! -

I have nothing but great things to say about Sweet Hearts and our experience working with them for our wedding. Our cake was absolutely delicious and so beautiful! We worked with Ashley, the Operations Manager, and she was great. Very professional and had great suggestions. We walked in there having no idea what we wanted and we walked out with a better spread than we could’ve hoped for. We went with a 2 tier cake because we didn’t have many guests. And my husband loves chocolate but I’m not a fan, so she suggested we get a few cupcakes and that was the best idea. We got the Strawberry Champagne and the Paris Tea cake flavors and they were divine. Overall, our experience with Sweet Hearts was awesome and I’d highly recommend them for wedding cakes. -

10/10 Best Cake!
Sweethearts Patisserie is one of the best bakeries I’ve been to. When I decided a wanted a macaron tower for my wedding cake, they were a no brainer. They worked with us on the flavor of the macarons (even down to the specific color) and how we wanted the cake to be decorated. I gave them a general idea of what I wanted and they nailed it. The cake was nice and soft with the perfect amount of icing. The macarons were absolutely delicious and there wasn’t a single one left. I would definitely recommend them! -

We originally were planning to rent a private room at a restaurant for our wedding and they recommended Sweet Hearts based on working with them in the past. We went ahead and placed an order with them as everything sounded delightful. Fast forward a few months and we completely changed gears... to renting a VRBO and having a small backyard party instead because it was much more "us." We called Sweet Hearts Patisserie and they were easily able to update our order from delivery to the restaurant to pick up the day before our big day, and we added cookies to the order to make up for the delivery charge we had already paid. Now, let's talk about taste! The cookies you could tell were made with fresh ingredients and real butter. Everyone that had one commented just that! We had the chocolate silk cupcakes which were a hit. We had gotten to-go cupcake containers to make sure none went to waste and actually had to make sure to set a couple aside for ourselves or would not have had any left to enjoy the next day. The icing was so smooth and creamy! The petit fours were also well loved. We had triple chocolate, vanilla raspberry and caramel chocolate. Some guests tried all three and couldn't decide which was their favorite. These definitely went the fastest, there were zero of them left by the time people started leaving. On to the cake! The husband said it's a good thing we don't live in Maryland because it's the best chocolate cake he has ever eaten, and he would want one for every occasion! I'm not a cake eater in general and even I have to admit it was delicious. From their customer service to their beautiful and tasty desserts, we could not recommend Sweet Hearts Patisserie enough! -

Delicious Dessert and Great Service!
Sweet Hearts Patisserie provided the dessert for my Oct 2025 wedding. The pricing was very reasonable for a cutting cake and dessert bar and they were great to work with. I had a lot of communication with Kristen while trying to create the menu and she was super helpful and patient. Not to mention, everything was delicious! I highly recommend Sweet Hearts Patisserie!! -

We used Sweet Hearts Patisserie for a relatively small dessert order (i.e., cake, brownies, and macarons off their online store) and their service and professionalism throughout the planning process was still excellent! They were more than accommodating to our budget and the delivery service went off without a hitch. The quality of the cake and desserts was also excellent and we got multiple compliments from our guests. They were also extremely respectful and knowledgeable about any potential allergens in their desserts, and the macarons were a hit with our gluten-free guests. I highly recommend Sweet Hearts Patisserie! -

Though our wedding was coordinated on short notice and they were tightly booked for the day of our wedding, they offered to still make and deliver our cake and desserts on the day of. The treats were all delicious and the guests all had great things to say! We appreciated them delivering to the yacht where we were getting married. Sweet Hearts Patisserie ensured us a delicious and gorgeous dessert experience at our wedding. They traveled to the venue to set up our dessert table, which was absolutely beautiful. The desserts--brownies, petit fours, macarons, and a small 6-inch cake--tasted even better than they already looked.
For the entire 13 months of lead up to our wedding, Kristen was always so responsive whenever we had an update or questions, such as about matching wedding colors or day-of timing. We highly recommend going in for the tasting; not only is everything tasty, but it was clear from the amount of attention that Kristen demonstrated, and the amount of ideas that she shared, with us that Sweet Hearts Patisserie really cares about doing the best job and satisfying clients. I never had to worry about them for a moment.
I had asked Kristen to set aside a couple of desserts for the groom and me to take back with us after the wedding. As it turns out, the patisserie made sure the package looked classy and also included both a bonus treat and a little slip congratulating us by name. It all made us feel so special that night.
All of our guests are still raving about our desserts, and we are still thinking about how yummy and pretty they were. Sweet Hearts Patisserie is a fabulous choice for your dessert needs--you could not go wrong with them! -

The staff was very patient and helpful throughout the process. We had a 3-layer semi-naked wedding cake and an additional layer on side. Each tier cake had a different flavor. Our guest and I loved the variety of cake flavors and raved about the cake. Would highly recommend for wedding cakes and more. -

100/10 would recommend Sweethearts Patisserie for your upcoming wedding, event, or just because.
From the start, Ashley at Sweethearts Patisserie was so helpful and easy to work with. She helped us to choose the perfect cake flavor and design, and she was always available to answer our questions. We also ordered mini desserts, specifically we were after mini pies - chocolate peanut butter for me, and key lime pie for my husband, which we thought was a special touch, given each flavor is our respective favorite. Ashley reassured us that this was no problem at all and could easily be accommodated. She even reached out the week leading up to the event to check in, even after we had already confirmed our order, which was so reassuring and felt like she truly cared.
On the day of our wedding, Sweethearts Patisserie was efficient and professional, arriving and delivering our wedding cake and desserts early, and ensuring the setup was up to standard. Everything was to-die-for-delicious. I made sure my wedding planner packed me any extras there were and lucky for us, we are still enjoying the now-frozen mini macarons and lemon bars to this day.
We highly recommend Sweethearts Patisserie to any couple planning a wedding. They are the best in town! -

Cake for a Small Wedding
We loved working with Sweet Hearts Patisserie for our wedding cake. Our wedding only had 40 guests so we needed a small cake and Sweet Hearts Patisserie was one of the only bakeries who was able to accommodate this and their cakes were delicious. It was a win-win! They were also very easy to work with and responsive via email leading up to our big day. We would highly recommend them to other couples looking for a delicious wedding cake. -

Would book again!
I absolutely loved Sweet Heart Patisserie and working with Ashley the owner! I felt so welcomed as soon as I stepped in the door. Ashley walked me though each and every step while listening to what I wanted. Ashley and the team went above and beyond what I could have imagine and the taste of the cake was just like I remembered. My favorite part was not having to save the top layer of the cake. She’s going to make a whole new one on our anniversary that’s fresh! -

We had a fantastic and easy experience with Sweet Hearts Patisserie! The tasting was a lovely experience and there were many delicious flavors to choose from. We saw a cake we liked in the book of their previous work, and they recreated it perfectly! The cake plus the flowers they arranged so perfectly on it came out beautiful, a true showstopper. And, most importantly, it was TASTY!! It was really easy to work with them, too. Couldn't have asked for a better cake vendor!

We had a smaller, mostly DIY wedding but decided we wanted to splurge on a big, beautiful, delicious cake and Sweet Hearts Patisserie was just the place to pull that off for us! Working with Ashley and Kristen was great and they helped deliver the perfect cake and macarons! So many people asked us where the cake came from because it was so tasty! Just a warning to other couples out there - if you want a darker blue cake, it will turn your mouth blue so maybe pick a lighter color, but we thought it was hilarious and will make for a few silly pictures and definitely added a few good laughs! -

We used Sweet Hearts for our wedding at the CBBC and could not be more pleased! Ashley was super easy to work with and very professional and responsive with our questions via both email and calls. We did a wedding cake, cupcakes, and crab cookie party favors for our wedding and Ashley and team took care of everything from delivery, set up, and packaging! They even provided little cupcake boxes for guests (and us) to take home any leftovers! Everything turned out perfect and presentation was BEAUTIFUL! Ashley was so helpful and took the time to go through all of our options with us, and the desserts were DELICIOUS! Ashley and her team at Sweet Hearts Patisserie were incredible. We ended up hiring them within a month of our wedding date because our original vendor had to cancel due to a family emergency. Ashley was extremely responsive and professional, and we were able to get in for a tasting right away! We ended up with a desserts table for about 160 guests instead of a traditional cake, and they were some of the best wedding desserts I've ever had. We had five different flavors of french macarons, four different flavors of petit fours, 4 different cupcakes, lemon bars, and 2 different cake pops. Everything was an absolute HIT. And Sweet Hearts is very reasonably priced, much cheaper than our original vendor was going to be. I highly recommend Ashley and her team at Sweet Hearts Patisserie for any wedding desserts needs! -

I would first like to apologize for the lateness in this review, but with current events, I'm sure everyone's lives have been topsy-turvy as of late.
When we were first meeting with bakers, my husband and I knew that we wanted a cake to complement our dinner menu. We wanted something simple in decoration on the outside but delicious on the inside. Ashley and her team we're incredible to work with from first meeting all the way up until they delivered the cake to our venue.
Seven months later and some of our guests are still talking about our cake. If that isn't a testament to their work then I don't know what is.

My husband and I were blown away at how moist and decadent the cakes were during our tasting and how Ashley walked us through our options. We ended up with a two tier cake with strawberry amaretto for one layer and lemon berry for the other. We also had cupcakes in a variety of flavors and the salted caramel chocolate was to die for. All of our guests thought they were delicious and we had zero leftovers! The whole team was great at keeping in contact during the process, delivering the cake and setting everything up for us. -

Amazing experience
Everyone at Sweet Hearts patisserie was extremely professional and fun to work with! This bakery was the perfect choice for our Annapolis wedding! We had a dessert spread -- sugar cookies, assorted cupcakes, wedding cake, and an ice cream bar provided by the venue. All of our guests had something sweet and delicious at the end of our night!
Sweet Hearts was so accommodating. I created a little sketch of how I wanted our little cake to look and they brought our vision to life! Ashley and Paige were professional and responsive, and we did all of our post-tasting communication through email. The tasting, by the way, was one of the best moments in wedding planning for us as a couple! Sweet Hearts also came to set up the dessert table for us with display elements they provided -- all we had to do was leave our cake toppers out for them! So convenient.
I would recommend this vendor! We most enjoyed the sugar cookies, chocolate cupcakes, strawberry cupcakes, and lemon/berry cake. We will definitely be returning for future anniversaries and celebrations! -

Amazing and easy!!
I can’t recommend Sweet Hearts Patisserie enough!! We hired them for our wedding cake and, not even being much of a cake person, I was trusting their expertise and advice with the very little information I gave them - they did an unbelievable job and made the entire process so easy! From scheduling the tasting and being very accommodating for any additional tasting as my fiancé couldn’t be there, to me simply sending an email of how I wanted the cake to look and it was SPOT ON!!, to the delivery which they already knew every detail before even discussing it with them and sending me options of cake stands at no additional cost - honestly this was one of the best experiences throughout our vendor process! Very quick to respond, experts at what they do, delicious AND pretty products, very professional and made this process so easy, yet perfect!! Highly, highly recommended!!
3 weeks after the wedding we also bought cake pops from them for a baby shower!! Several guests that had attended my wedding not only commented on the amazing wedding cake, but were also standing by the dessert table at the shower to grab an extra pop if any were left over! Absolutely delicious!! -

The bakery made the cake exactly as I requested, it looked gorgeous, and it tasted AMAZING! We did have alot of cake left over, I think the caterer cut the pieces smaller than intended portions. We did a mixed dessert bar of cake pops, macarons, and cupcakes as well as a small naked cake. Every single dessert bar piece went and we got so many compliments on our little cake. Sweet Heart's was fantastic to work with - so quick to respond and providing multiple options, pricing (and repricing when we changed our minds a few times!). It is also fantastic that they provide a complimentary anniversary cake in your flavors so you don't have to worry about storing the cake topper and just get to enjoy your wedding day. Would highly recommend to all! -

So happy we chose Sweet Hearts Patisserie. We had booked a tasting with another local baker a month in advance before or only trip into Annapolis before the wedding. A few days prior I called to confirm the appointment and was very curtly told they weren’t available. No explanation, no apology. I was so mad. I called Sweet Heats Patisserie and they went out of their way to get me in for s tasting that weekend! Their customer service was top notch and the cake tasted amazing! -

Would 100% use again for anything! By far the best bakery in Annapolis and the most helpful and polite service. Easiest part of my wedding day! They come and set up everything. We had an amazing expierience with Sweet Hearts Patisserie. They were very flexible and were able to squeeze us in last minute to accomedate my fiances military schedule. Upon arrival we were offerend water, tea, and coffee. We began to discuss what I visioned for my wedding cake, and she had already had printed off the images that I had emailed to her! We got to taste 7 super yummy cakes, and decided to go with two flavors for our 4 tiered cake. -

We love Sweet Hearts Patisserie!
We loved working with Ashley Royer and the staff at Sweet Hearts Patisserie. They were super easy and pleasurable to work with and put out a great product! Everyone raved about hour delicious our wedding cake and cake pops were! I don't think I have ever had better wedding cake! -

Heather Sent on 06/02/2018Working with Ashley and the team at Sweethearts Patisserie was wonderful! My husband and I had the best time cake tasting and Ashley met us with open arms. Even better, she took the time to listen to what our favorite flavors and combinations were- my Dad even got his own special mix of chocolate and raspberry, which he still talks about, to this day! We were so lucky to have the most beautiful cake for our big day and it tasted as good as it looked! Our guests gave us endless compliments and we couldn't be happier. Sweethearts Patisserie is worth every penny from the first bite, to the last! Thank you!

As soon as I got engaged they were the first vendor I contacted :) Ashley & her team were wonderful & offered great suggestions to make my wedding cake & cupcakes fit my style & budget. The strawberry champagne petit four favors were a total hit...& tasted amazing!

Lori Sent on 11/27/2017I got my beautiful wedding cake and party favors (macarons) from Sweet Hearts Patisserie. Both were absolutely delicious and I cannot say enough how in love I was with my cake. They hosted us for two tastings and we were treated like royalty. The second tasting was to check out the new fall flavors. The pumpkin is to die for. We picked amaretto strawberry, pumpkin, and cookies n cream for our 4 tier cake. So beautiful. They are going to make us a fresh top tier for free for our first anniversary so we didn’t have to freeze anything. Our macaron duo as party favors were strawberry and creme brûlée. My guests loved everything.

Michele Sent on 11/04/2017Oh my goodness. We had so many compliments on our dessert table! The flavors were perfect for the fall weather, and we were able to customize our table to be exactly what we wanted. The apple spice and maple bacon cupcakes were mouth watering. The hazelnut, tiramisu, and pumpkin petifours were ALL gone. Our wedding cake was the lemon almond crunch with buttercream frosting designed in rosettes, and it was so delicious we didn't want it to end. We also went with 2 different style macarons, the amaretto and cappuccino. Sweet Hearts Patisserie designed each dessert to whatever we wanted, and altered the color of the macarons to match our wedding colors. They supplied signage and trays with their delivery that went with our theme, and it listed the flavors of each dessert option.
In addition, my husband was obsessed with his grooms cake. They were able to do exactly what I was thinking in my mind. -

Jennifer Sent on 10/16/2017We came to Sweet Hearts through a recommendation from our wedding planner after having a less than stellar experience at a previous bakery (dry tasters). I communicated with Ashley Royer via email to make the appointment for my Fiance and I to come in. She was able to get us a morning appointment in just a few days to come into the store for a tasting. In advance we filled out their online “tasting request form” where I was able to give her some wedding details and link her to my Pinterest cake board. During our tasting we sat down and talked with Ashley about what were were looking for; since she had already combed through my Pinterest board and had pulled out her favorites we were able to go over the initial designs pretty quickly. After tasting around 8 different combos (all pre-selected by Ashley) we eventually settled on 2 flavors, the Lemon Almond Crunch and the Strawberry Amaretto. One of the things that sold us was that they specialize in buttercream, neither my husband or I are fans of the taste of fondant. We decided to do multiple cakes and Ashley was great at recommending what sizes we should go with (we ended up with 3 various tiered cakes). Once we got within a few weeks of the wedding we had another quick in-person meeting to finalize the cake designs. Ashley was always super responsive and easy to deal with, she also had a great eye for design. Once our wedding date came the cakes were perfect! Moist and tasted like cake should, like buttercream! I am still amazed that she was able to make such beautiful cakes out of buttercream (I always assumed it could only be done with fondant). Overall, I am thankful to have found them and we had the most delicious cake and I cannot wait to go back for other goodies now that we moved to Upper Marlboro (so much closer!). Cannot recommend Ashley and Sweet Hearts Patisserie enough and it doesn’t hurt that the store is an IG dream - so French and cute!
