Our cakes were more beautiful than I expected and Heather was so helpful in working with our limited budget, making sure that I got what I wanted within our price range!

Our groom's cake was absolutely perfect! I brought in a photo of what we wanted and our cake looked even better than the picture - plus it was super yummy! They have so many flavor combo options and the design possibilities are endless. We will definitely be back for additional cakes in the future!

We used Sweet Designs for our "cake" and groom's cake. The groom's cake was very unique, a Halo Spartan helmet (my husband is a nerd) and the quality was incredible. We ended up doing cake pops and cupcakes with a small cake topper for us to cut. The cake was delicious, we had NONE LEFT! The cake tasting experience was incredible and the price was fantastic. We're also looking forward to the fact that we get a small freshly made cake for our anniversary from them!

Sweet Designs Cakery is truly a blessing to the community. They went above and beyond in multiple ways to assist us with our wedding. Not only was our cake selection visually stunning, but I can't even count the number of people who told me it was the best tasting cake they have ever had. Heather, Roger and the entire staff were great to work with and are just wonderful people. We could not be more pleased with our experience.

I would recommend Sweet Designs Cakery to anyone who was looking for a wedding cake! They were great from the first time we walked into their shop for a tasting to the delivery and follow up of our wedding for our cake and grooms cake! The cake not only looked great, but also tasted wonderful!

Our wedding cake and groom's cake were a hit at our wedding. They were able to match my vision over the phone since I wasn't able to meet in person. I changed my groom's cake a few weeks before the wedding and this was not a problem. The cake was not only beautiful but moist and delicious. The strawberry is my favorite but the banana cake was a huge hit at our wedding and we ran out fast.

They also did my daughter's first birthday cake and smash cake. Both of these cakes were wonderful as well.

Had a very large event (non wedding) and needed a cake themed to match the party. We hosted over 500 guests. Even tho we had enough cake to go around, there was not a piece left! Everyone just loved it. It looked beautiful and tasted like heaven.

Even if you aren't that big on cake - it was honestly the best cake I've ever tasted.

The price, the design, the taste and the cooperation Heather and her team offered was outstanding! THANKS SO MUCH! We will be comming back!

Everything about Sweet Designs was wonderful. The process went very smooth, they delivered the cake and set everything up. I could not have been happier with my cake. Everyone at the wedding raved about it and not to mention it didn't only look perfect it was the best tasting cake I have ever had!

Heather Horton at Sweet Designs Cakery is super great to work with and a very talented lady! My experience with Sweet Designs was GREAT! Heather was the best vendor to work with from my entire wedding. She met with us one on one for our consultation. The samples were delicious! It was very tough to even narrow down our choices for our cakes. Heather's ideas were great, I was extremely pleased with the overall look of the cake as well as the taste! She responds to e-mails quickly and is very flexible. I even cut out one sheet cake the week before the wedding and it was no problem. I have reccommended Sweet Designs to others!

Sweet Designs is a wonderfull bakery. We were very impressed with the quality of the work, not only the artistic part of the cake but the flavor was amazing. I highly recomend Sweet Designs for anyone that wants great quality and a great price.

The cake was exactly as I had pictured it when I had my meeting with Heather. She did an amazing job!! I had an unusual cake because we put LED lights IN the cake! Heather was all for it! She was very excited to try something new, and she did it perfectly!! The taste of the cake was amazing... People are still talking about how good the cake was! It was moist, fluffy, and had great flavors! We also had the fondant covering on the cake, and Heather's is sweeter and so much better than any fondant I had ever tried before! Heather was great to work with, and her cake stole the show! It was amazing! I HIGHLY recommend Sweet Designs Cakery! Thank you, Heather!

I would recommend Sweet Designs Cakery to anyone who is getting married or is looking for a beautiful, creative, cake at a great price!! I am from Joplin, but I live in Wisconsin now. I planned my Carthage wedding from Wisconsin. The way I stumbled across Sweet Designs was through a blog posting where Heather had posted photos of her cakes. I was drawn to this shop because I could see that Heather had done cakes that looked classic, modern, elegant, creative, etc. I found an image of a cake that I liked and a vintage (50s?) cake topper and emailed them to Heather. She gave me great feedback and was very responsive to emails. At the last minute, I ordered 4 dozen cupcakes in addition to my cake. I really had no idea what to expect until I saw my cakes/cupcakes at my wedding because I didn't do a tasting beforehand. I was absolutely STUNNED! The cake and cupcakes were gorgeous and DELICIOUS!!!!! Each of the 4 layers had a different filling and they were all amazing! The price couldn't be beat either. I highly highly recommend this place - it is a really classy establishment!

I highly recommend using Sweet Designs Cakery for wedding and groom's cakes. Our wedding cake was custom designed just for us, incorporating our personal tastes as well as an embossing on the cake that matched our wedding invitation. Heather also helped me with surprising my husband with an amazing LSU groom's cake. She replicated the LSU fluer-dis-lis with the tiger eye/stripes onto his cake. We live over an hour from Sweet Designs so we kept in contact via e-mail. Heather was proactive and responsive in her communications with us. Our cakes were set up beautifully and on time in spite of a long drive and nasty January snow storm. This kind of one-on-one attention, flexibility, and creativity - all for a reasonable price - is a rare find.

If you do a cake-testing, you must try the strawberry with cream cheese icing. We had three different flavors but the strawberry with strawberry filling and cream cheese icing was by far the guest favorite. It was the only kind we didn't have left-over and it left us wanting more. For weddings, Sweet Design's offers either a complementary 3-inch cake preserved and ready to go in the freezer on your wedding day OR a fresh 6-inch cake on your 1 yr. anniversery. We can't wait for our fresh strawberry cake on our anniversery! :)

Sweet Designs Cakery did a wonderful job on our wedding cake. It turned out beautiful!!! They made the process so easy!! I live several states away and decided to have our wedding in my home town, so all the communication was through email or phone. All we had to do was tell her our hopes and wishes and they came up with the perfect cake. We even got to taste test the cake (they sent us samples through the mail)!!! Heather was a joy to work with. Absolutely awesome cake designer. Communication was great - we live 3 hours away from Pittsburg and kept in touch via email and phone. Any time I had a question she was quick to reply. Prices were very reasonable - especially for the quality of work!

We had cupcakes 'sweetcakes' for our wedding cake with a small two tiered square cake at the top. She built us a square cupcake tower and it looked beautiful!

Our flavors were rasberry with chocolate buttercreme, lemon zest with vanilla buttercreme, and pumpkin with cream cheese frosting. ALL of the flavors were awesome. Many of our guests went back and tried all 3 cupcake flavors!

Overall we were very pleased with Sweet Designs Cakery. Very professional and would love to use Heather for any of our future cake needs!

Heather worked with me by email a lot because I live out of town. That was a huge help. I knew I could trust her to create something I would love. She listened to my ideas and opinions and was able to give me feedback and give me ideas I hadn't thought of on my own. We loved the cake and the cake bites and are still enjoying leftovers!

Heather was wonderful! She made an absolute beautiful wedding cake for us along with an awesome Groom's cake. The 3-D Jeep cake was amazing! Everyone thought it was a toy, and no one wanted us to cut it because it looked so awesome! We had cupcakes as well and they were amazing. Everyone definately got their share of cake and even wanted to take some with them after the wedding was over....so I got behind the cake table and started cutting! I don't think I could cut fast enough. I would definately recommend her for your wedding! You will get a New York style cake for a Pittsburg style price.

My wedding day was as wonderful as it could possibly have been. I am in the United States Army and am stationed at Fort Louis in Washington state. Needless to say, I had to plan my wedding from several hundred miles away. I only had a brief window of opportunity in February to choose and book my cake. I was pleased that Heather made herself available to fit my rushed and hectic schedule on very short notice. It can be overwhelming when you are trying to make decisions and choices, and you are provided with such a vast array of cake designs--nothing was outside the realm of Heather's capabilities. Anything that came to our imagination, she was game to try. She was very helpful in helping me narrow down the plethora of cake choices. We had no idea how much cake we were going to need. We knew we had to have enough to serve about 200 people, but we didn't want too much cake left over either. Heather seemed very knowledgeable in this area. She suggested the cake size and we went with it. After the wedding, there was very little cake left. People loved it so much, they kept going back to get more, especially the chocolate with the creamy filling. We didn't need to worry about how to "get rid of all the leftover cake." People were more than happy to help us finish up the last of the tasty remains. Heather kept in contact just the right amount--enough to share information and stay on track, but not so much she was annoying. She emailed pictures of cakes and made numerous phone calls to make sure everything was the way we wanted it. When we had to change the location of the reception, she didn't even wince; she just said, "Oh, that's no problem. I'll just stop and see my mom on the way home." What a trooper. Not only is Heather pleasant and knowledgeable, she is quite the cake connoisseur. I would highly recommend her services to anyone; especially anyone who has trouble making choices and decisions as I did. Good luck Heather, and we look forward to our 1st anniversary cake from Sweet Designs Cakery!

The cakes were awesome! Especially the groom's cake. They made a battlefield with little soldiers, water, rocks, dirt, etc. It was so realistic and the topography was great! It tasted great too! It was a good experience and I highly recommend Sweet Designs for anyone in the Pittsburg area who is planning a wedding. You can't go wrong! :-)

I didn't really know what I wanted for my wedding cake. I threw out some ideas and she created a cake on a software program and showed me the picture. I loved it. All I did was buy some ribbon that I wanted on the cake and she did the rest. She also did the grooms cake which was a beach theme. We had a round cake and cupcakes for the groom.

The cake was amazing and a great price too. This was the only part of my wedding that i had no fears about the set up. Heather had everything put together and the topper on the cake before anyone saw it. I didn't even see it until the reception.

We had a lot of conversation about the cake over email b/c the storefront isn't open yet. Heather is so easy to get along with and full of ideas. She made a beautiful and very tasty cake with three different cake types and three different fillings. Yum.

We were highly pleased with Heather's work. She is an amazing artist...I haven't seen so much talent and creativity before with food & the price was so affordable. We recommend her to everyone we talk to. We also forgot to mention how yummy the cake was. I used to go to the grocery store for birthday cakes and such, but now I rather go to Sweet Design's.

Sweet Design Cakery did a wonderful job on my wedding cake. They were willing to go the extra mile to create the cake of my dreams. After numerous emails and constant changing of the design we came up with a beautiful cake and also a great grooms cake!!!

Heather at Sweet Designs was great! We were able to choose different flavor combinations for each tier of cake, so we had something to satisfy everyone! The cake was delivered on time, looked gorgeous and tasted amazing. Guests complimented it all night long and it was quickly devoured. Would definitely recommend any bride to use Sweet Designs.

Heather did an amazing job on our wedding cake! It was gorgeous and everyone said it tasted really de-lish! She was very helpful and also helped us with our cake topper too. It was delivered and set up just perfect. My husband and I really loved it and will be sure to use Sweet Designs Cakery again!

I have had a picture of my dream wedding cake in my head since I was about 10 years of age or so. Although it was sort of an old fashioned idea, Heather knew exactly what I wanted and immediatly built a model of it for me. She was very knowlegable on every detail. The variety of cake flavors, icings and fillings were outstanding. I got my dream cake (and husband) on March 5, 2011. Heather's presentation and the taste of the cake got rave reviews and I recommend her services to anyone that asks.

Heather was just amazing!!!! I gave her my idea of what I wanted and she took it and made it ten times better. Just what I wanted her to do! The cake was beautiful and one of my favorite things about the wedding. (besides getting married! :D) She also made wonderful chocolate cupcakes with chocolate covered strawberries of them. They were to die for!!! She was just wonderful to work with and had a great price for the amazing work she does! In Jan. 2008 she will have her own bakery shop in Pittsburg! I would recommend everyone to at least go and look at her creations that she has made!

Heather was very easy to work with. We lived in a seperate town than where she was located, but she was always willing to keep her shop open and be available after hours for us. We were able to communicate easily with her through email as well. She does digital mock-ups of the cake once you decide on a few details. Unfortunately, she had some issues with the program when it was time for her to send them to us, but this was no fault of hers. She suggested what she thought would look best, and we trusted her whole heartly. Our cake was amazing!! We had provided 5 to 6 designs that we liked and she managed to blend them all into one cake perfectly! And it tasted heavenly!!! Not only were we in awe, but all of our guests were too. When we were unsure of a cake flavor, she even sent us home with samples to help us decide.

Heather's cake's are so pretty and she is very artistic. The cake will not taste like a traditional wedding cake, but they are moist and very flavorful. If your looking for an alternative style of wedding cake, Sweets Designs Catery is the place to go!
