perfect, delicious wedding cake!

Sweet Cheeks Baking Co. has the best cake I have ever tasted in my life! My wife Karli and I are so happy that we got our cake with them. They were really easy to communicate with throughout our planning process. Sweet Cheeks adapted their tasting during COVID to a take-home tasting box, and I loved the experience. We ended up choosing a strawberry champagne flavored cake, along with a vanilla cake that had fresh berries and lemon curd. We loved it so much, we ordered another tier to eat after our wedding, too. I highly recommend this bakery for any event / wedding!

Wedding cake of my dreams!!!

For my wedding, I was blessed with an INCREDIBLE, MAGNIFICENT, FANTASTIC, BEAUTIFUL experience of working with Elaine from Sweet Cheeks Baking Co.!!! Elaine just GOT ME! I swear, in another life, me and her were sisters! She got my sense of humor as well as my vision! I gave her a rough idea of my hopes and dreams in cake form, and she put into reality (with her extraordinary team of bakers and artists) the wedding cake of my dreams! Elaine provided drawings and pictures and the funniest emails EVER to really make sure I was confident in what they would create! And boy oh boy did they deliver! They also allowed me to rent a gorgeous cake stand that matched the cake style perfectly, and safely delivered and setup the cake (or delicious artistic masterpiece, I should say) to absolute perfection!! When I saw the cake, I was over the moon! I didn't have to compromise in the slightest, it was EVERYTHING, and then some! Elaine... I LOVE YOU and your team! Thank you for all you did for me and Adam! We are so lucky we had Sweet Cheeks as part of our wedding! HUGS!!!! xoxo
Also…. I almost forgot to mention, we had the Triple Chocolate and the Fresh Lemon Berry cake! Both were very loved by our guests and we purchased for 124 attendees (which was or original guest count, but only 105 ended up coming). The only thing I would change would be actually getting some cake! Other than the bite we got for the cutting, Adam and I didn’t get any cake! I guess the guests loved it so much they ate it all!!! Lol

Highly recommend Sweet Cheeks!

Sweet Cheeks did a fantastic job with our cake and assorted cupcakes. The cake looked amazing and all of the flavors were delicious. We loved being able to have a variety of flavors for guests to choose from. They also made us monogramed cookies as our wedding favor. Those were a hit! Our wedding was postponed twice due to covid. The team at Sweet Cheeks was flexible and responsive throughout the process and postponements. I highly recommend Sweet Cheeks!

Scrumptious!

The Sweet Cheeks Bakery team provided our wedding guests with scrumptious cupcakes! We had a simple, single tiered cake to ourselves. Our cake flavor was Smashing Pumpkin, and our cupcakes were Smashing Pumpkin, Fresh Lemon Berry, and Triple Chocolate Darkness.The cake itself was a perfect blend of pumpkin and cream cheese; it was so delicious! As for the cupcakes, our guests kept going back for more!

Because of the pandemic, our cake tasting involved us picking up the samples and trying them at home. The process was easy and Candace was super welcoming when I arrived. We also decided to rent cupcake stands through Sweet Cheeks. The team was great about providing options for us to choose from.

After our wedding, we returned all the rented stands at the bakery. Our dog was waiting in the car, and Elaine came out to say hi to us and our dog, and we chatted about our wedding. It was so nice of her to come out and see how our day went!

We would definitely order from Sweet Cheeks Bakery again!

Delicious!

Our cake was absolutely stunning and everything we had hoped for! Besides getting married the thing I looked most forward to one our wedding day was the cake! I had been dreaming/thinking about it since we had our tasting! All of our guests raved about how delicious the cake was. I would highly recommend getting your wedding cake from here not only are they beautiful but the taste is amazing and will leave your guests talking about it.

Best bakery ever!!

I can’t thank Lauren and her team at SweetCheeks enough! I had a very specific wedding cake in mind and when I contacted other vendors they either told me it was not possible or it would be very hard to make. But when I contacted Lauren she was willing to do anything to help me make my dream cake come true! She even drew me a picture of what my cake would look like and I was super excited to see the cake in real life! The whole team was very professional and super kind throughout the whole process! I ended up having faux cake for show which came out exactly the way I imagined and backup cakes to eat. The groom’s favorite was “Marbled with love” and mine was “the Sicilian.” We ordered extra big cakes so we could have two slices! I’m just sad I couldn’t eat 3 slices that night! Even my dad had 2 slices and everyone complimented on how delicious the cake was! Thank you so so much SweetCheeks!

Best Cake Choice!

Sweet Cheeks did our wedding cake and it was amazing!! They were so helpful from the start and every cake we tested was delicious. We went with a lemon cake and all of our guests loved it, not to mention it was decorated beautifully. I would absolutely recommend them for any wedding!

Incredible Cake

We live in the Sacramento, CA area and had planned a small destination wedding in San Diego. We relied solely on reviews to pick our vendors for the event. From my first contact to my very last, everyone I dealt with was so helpful, polite and accommodating. I had a very vague idea of what I wanted, but after speaking with Elaine and answering a few questions, she came up with a beautiful design which fit us perfectly. Her creativity and expertise showed in the simple but elegant design which matched elements of my dress. She is truly an artist. The cake was so delicious, moist, creamy and the tiramisu filling was incredible. Elaine and crew deserve a "10" in our book!

They were amazing!

The Sweetest Wedding Day!

From start to finish, Sweet Cheeks baking made our wedding dreams a reality! Elaine and her entire staff were so amazing throughout the entire process from selecting wedding cake flavors, to design to delivery. They are an incredible team and it shows through the service you receive. Elaine and her team helped us design a unique hand-painted wedding cake for our reception and a wonderful Groom’s Cake surprise for my husband during our friends and family after-party. The cake itself – let’s just say DELICIOUS!...And we visited a few bakeries for taste testings in the area before making our final selection. Hands down – Sweet Cheeks far surpassed the rest. Yummy wedding cake and mini desserts

We used Sweet Cheeks for our wedding cake and desserts as they were part of our wedding package at Lomas Santa Fe Country Club. Our cake was beautiful and our mini desserts super cute! The quality of their cake and desserts is excellent. All of our guests enjoyed the cake and desserts. Although my husband and I didn't get to taste too many desserts during our wedding, during our pre-wedding tasting, we were impressed!

Beautiful, fun wedding cake!

We had a casual wedding celebration, and wanted our cake to reflect that. I didn't give too much direction so that I would be a bit surprised, and they did such a wonderful job!! We had funfetti and vanilla/chocolate marble as different tiers, and guests raved that both tasted amazing. Sweet Cheeks did an amazing job and were super easy to work with remotely.

Amazing service and food

Sweet Cheeks delivered everything we wanted. We did not want a cake at all! We wanted a fun dessert bar, which we got! Lauren and her team were receptive to our ideas and flavors. We asked for a few special things and they found a way to make it happen. Very helpful and quick to respond to emails. And the desserts were freakin' amazing!! We got 7 different types of desserts, and all were fabulous. Especially the Bomb Diggity!!! Thank you!

Delicious cake

Lauren Rennie with Sweet Cheeks was the best. She helped us pick our cake flavors and turned my cake vision into reality. She was patient with me as I asked questions on the design and helped me come up with the prettiest cake. She was very responsive and easy to work with. Sweet Cheeks provided us with one of the best wedding cakes my husband and I have ever eaten and we loved all the flavors- we barely narrowed it down to 3 options for our guests. We can’t wait to eat our leftover wedding cake on our one year wedding anniversary!

Best ever! Lauren was the most creative and fun cake consultant (??) to work with - she was positive and so responsive even when she was out of the office working on other weddings. Sweet Cheeks handled my wedding cake as well as other cookies and desserts for the dessert table. Everything was beautiful! The cake was breathtaking and the personalized cookies with our names on them really were that special extra touch!

We hired Sweet Cheeks Baking to do desserts and our cake for our wedding in March 2018 and were beyond happy with their work! We worked primarily with Elaine and she made the process really easy. We met for a sampling and consultation and she was able to get a sense of our taste and guide us through what would be best for us. She did an awesome job personalizing the desserts and their arrangement to us and our wedding. Communication was great throughout the process, and Elaine showed up right on time at the venue and arranged the desserts and rented platters gorgeously. The desserts looked and tasted fantastic and were a huge hit with the guests. If you need desserts for an event, definitely call Sweet Cheeks Baking!

We met Lauren when we came for a consult and to pick up our tasting. She is so sweet and genuine that we left hoping we would like the samples because we liked her so much more than the people we’d met at another option. Lauren sketched a quick beautiful cake and was willing to add our florals which was a big plus for us since I was hoping to do the décor myself without hiring a florist. Fortunately, the samples were fantastic, and Lauren was great over email with recommendations for complimentary flavors to help us make final decisions. We ended up with tiramisu cake with the white chocolate mouse & chocolate whip and citrus cake with lemon buttercream & raspberry buttercream/crème. Our cake was so delicious that after the cake cutting and a bite each, we ended up standing by the cake table and devouring the entire piece. At our table, we later enjoyed both flavors and my mouth waters when I see the pictures. Thank you Sweet Cheeks and especially Lauren!

If you're looking for a baker who's cake tastes as amazing as it looks, then look no further! The team at Sweet Cheeks is amazing! So professional, helpful, and willing to work with what I wanted, this team met my expectations! I actually asked for a simple cake...moist, very chocolate chocolate, with white coconut frosting (which I thought might be difficult to do since it's dark cake with light frosting - but oh no, they did it!) ... I died, it was soooooo good! The best wedding cake I could hope for and more! I will always recommend Sweet Cheeks, especially Elaine whom I worked with. She was so cool and willing to help get me the cake I wanted (and to fit on the vintage cake stand that was my parents') and all within budget! To me, a vendor that can work with me, and deliver a product that meets all my check boxes (within reason, of course ;) ), is the kind of vendor I want to hire, and a vendor you can trust. Lauren and her staff were absolutely amazing! From our consultation up to our wedding day Lauren and the team answered any last minute questions we had and the whole team is very prompt and sweet with responses! They made our cake tasting so much fun and they had a variety of flavors and buttercreams for us to try!

We felt so comfortable with Lauren and she made everything stress-free. She was able to sketch our dream wedding cake and make her sketch come to life on our wedding day! The entire night during our reception we received so many compliments on the cake! Everyone loved the style of the cake and especially the taste! We had two layers of pistachio with a fresh raspberry/vanilla buttercream and the other two layers were oreo with a vanilla/oreo crumb buttercream. Both flavors were a hit! Thank you so much! Some say cake tasting is the most fun experience of the wedding process and it was, but Sweet Cheeks stood out above all the rest! The cake was delicious and the variety of flavors they offered where incredible! We decided on 2 different flavors and they did an amazing job putting it all together. They worked with us to design the cake of ours dreams. Everybody loved it! The only mistake we made was not ordering more cake so we could have leftovers every day! We froze our top tier for our 1 year anniversary and have a countdown to when we can enjoy that delicious cake!

Lauren at Sweet Cheeks was a doll to work with. From the tasting to the day of the wedding, she was just tops! The cake itself was delicious and beautiful. She used real flowers from my florist to decorate the cake and did an amazing job with placement. I love the choices of flavors for the cake itself, and the filling. The guests all commented on how GREAT the cake was. Lauren also went out of her way to make sure my display was gorgeous. We had mini fruit tarts and brownies in addition to the cake and she took over making the whole table display just lovely! Thanks so much, Lauren!

Lauren Rennie and Sweet Cheeks gets 5 stars from us! When we began to vet cake vendors, Sweet Cheeks stood out immediately! Lauren was so kind, friendly, professional and genuinely excited about her job! Finding a vendor that had passion about their job and as excited about our wedding as we were was very important to us! Lauren made us feel important and special and we knew from the moment we first spoke they would make our wedding cake dreams come true.

Lauren is so incredibly talented! I couldn't believe how she sketched the cake of our dreams the day we met and it was even more gorgeous in person as I imagine on our actual wedding day. Looks aside, the cake flavors - icing, filling and cake are the best! Its the perfect balance of sweet but not too sweet, flavors are so amazing and the cake is just about as perfect as cakes get.

I am SO happy I chose Sweet Cheeks as my cake vendor, they are absolutely incredible and make the best cake around - seriously. Elaine, Donna and their team are true professionals and are there to help and guide you every step of the way. From budget to design to flavor combos and display ideas, they know their stuff and it shows. This talented team can be trusted completely and your guests will rave about your desserts! I am so glad we came across Sweet Cheeks! We went to few other places for tastings, but when we got to Sweet Cheeks, there was no other option. We are extremely picky, and always in search of companies that are unique, and the best. Sweet Cheeks is beyond exceptional! We worked with Lauren, Elaine & Donna, and we could not have asked for a better experience. We got everything we wanted, and more. After meeting with the ladies, we settled on a 2 tier Pistachio Cake, with Coconut Cream Cheese, and fresh Blueberries - I know an interesting combination, but let me tell you this cake was an explosion of magical flavors, it was absolutely delicious!!! All our guest were beyond impressed, and couldn't get enough. Thank you to everyone at Sweet Cheeks for doing such a phenomenal job, and making our special day extra special!

Sweet Cheeks was absolutely Amazing! We had them design and make both our wedding cake and wedding favors. We live in Arizona but were married in La Jolla. They were very accommodating and packed up a to-go box for me to take back to Arizona to taste with my fiance. Lauren was so awesome to work with and was so helpful. She met with me in person and exchanged multiple emails with me. For our wedding favors we had Sweet Cheeks package two cookies with a ribbon and stickers and they turned out great! Lauren was sweet enough to look for the perfect gold ribbon for the favors. The cake was so delicious and beautiful! Our guests kept commenting on how wonderful the cake tasted. Also, so many guests contacted us after the wedding to tell us the cookies given as favors were the best cookies they have ever had! A week after the wedding we received a sweet card in the mail from Sweet Cheeks congratulating us on our marriage. We highly recommend Sweet Cheeks and look forward to ordering anniversary cakes and other goodies from them :)

From the very first moment I went to visit Sweet Cheeks Baking Company to try out their cake and talk ideas with them, they stole my heart. They are obviously passionate about what they do and just so friendly and fun. Their cakes are also of course incredible! They created a naked cake for me and a two tier buttercream wedding cake that were out of this world. I connected with Lauren about my dessert table and she went above and beyond to help me create the dessert table of my dreams. She worked with my florist and decorated the cakes with flowers on the day and brought a whole bunch of her own stands and other props to make everything look absolutely beautiful. Oh, and we got lemon flavor and chocolate flavor cakes...........DELICIOUS!

Can't say enough about what a joy Lauren and the other folks at Sweet Cheeks were to work with. Thank you for making the cakes and dessert table of my dreams, Sweet Cheeks!

MY husband and I don't live in San Diego even though we got married there so they kindly had some cupcakes made for us to swing by and pick up on one of our planning trips. SO GOOD. The cake went so quick at our wedding and I didn't do the top tier save thing but now wish I had because our guests gobbled it all up! Super professional and helpful, they helped us make arrangements for special cake toppers and were just overall cool and great to work with.

We chose Sweet Cheeks to make our cake and cupcakes for our wedding at the Catamaran Resort in November. The Catamaran has a package that includes a top tier and cupcakes from several bakeries, but we chose Sweet Cheeks for their many flavor options. We worked with Lauren Rennie who spent an hour explaining to us the different options that would fit within our package and choosing a design for our top tier. We chose sunshine raspberry swirl for our top tier with raspberry creme inside and 4 flavors of mini-cupcakes -- chocolate with salted caramel buttercream (my favorite!), pumpkin with cream cheese, citrus with lemon buttercream, and tiramisu with chocolate buttercream. They were so delicious people started sneaking cupcakes before we even cut the cake!! And the cake design perfectly fit our nautical wedding!

BEST CAKE EVER!!! Elaine was wonderful to work with. We live outside of CA so we were planning remotely which can be a challenge. About 6 months prior to our wedding date, we had a trip planned to SD, so setup a time for a tasting. Because it was Memorial Day Weekend they were super busy with weddings, but offered to give us a tasting box to taste at our leisure. So tasty. We sent our cake flavors, then went on to planning other things. In August, Elaine reached out again because I had forgotten to confirm! Thank goodness she called because we definitely wanted their cake. At that time we ordered the cake, picked a beautiful silver cake stand to rent, exchanged pictures with examples of cakes I liked the look of, paid the deposit, and waited for the wedding day.

Our guests RAVED about the cake saying it was by far the best wedding cake they'd ever tasted. We packed up the top tier to take home for our 1st anniversary, but unfortunately it slid out of the box in the car (our fault). We are hoping to order from them again for the reception we'll be having in Seattle in 2016. Thanks for everything Sweet Cheeks Baking Company!

We got married in September and Elaine helped us through the process of creating our dream come true cake display. We went with three smaller cake display ad chose rustic style. The process was very easy and everyone is so sweet and helpful at Sweet Cheeks Baking. We did our tasting at home and i have to say it wasn't easy to pick a flavor because all of them were amazing! We went with blueberry-lavander with champagne buttercream for one of the cakes, vanilla pistachio for the second and chocolate hazelnut for the third. Not only the flavors but the display, decoration and the props were fenomenal! I can't wait for an occasion to order the blueberry lavander cake again as it was my absolute favorite!

DO yourself a favor, get your cake from Sweet Cheeks! I worked with Lauren (she is awesome - highly recommend her) and her ideas matched exactly what we were going for with our 20's themed wedding. We ended up going with two flavors banana with strawberry creme and champagne buttercream AND vanilla with coconut creme and peanut butter mouse. Both flavors were topped with white chocolate buttercream. EVERYONE raved about the cake and I had three requests for the bakery's name so there could order cakes for birthdays/the holidays the next couple of weeks! WE loved our cake and are so excited that we will get an excuse to order more cakes in the future (anniversaries)!

We had Sweet Cheeks for our wedding at Paradise Point who we used through our venue package. Through our package we got a free tasting and wow every single bite was delicious! It was really cool because instead of choosing a few different flavors in advance they brought all types of frostings, cakes, and fillings and you could mix and match how you pleased. I loved the variety they offered and the cake just melted in my mouth. We couldn't believe our package included such an amazing cake! When we started talking about designs they were really open to having fun and trying different things and making it personal. The said we could have a hand painted design and we loved the idea. We live in Hawaii but the wedding was in San Diego so we were having a very tropical and Hawaiian wedding still. Lauren showed us pictures of a cake they did with hand painted hibiscus flowers and it was perfect! They changed the colors for us to match our theme and then did an excellent job. We also loved having a coconut flavor cake with mango and passion fruit filling to really bring out the Hawaiian taste. We also did red velvet with hazelnut and white chocolate mousse which was also amazing. Our guests loved the cake, we didn't get to have any until after we got back to our honeymoon suite and man we really savored it. Looking forward to our top tier on our anniversary (it may be sooner now that I'm thinking about it)! We also really appreciated being able to rent a cake stand with just a deposit that we got back upon returning the stand. I highly recommend using them, they are creative with the design and absolutely delicious.

Our cake from Sweet Cheeks was amazing! They used the flowers from our florist to decorate it really well (day of) and I was so pleased with it. Also, working with Lauren leading up to the big day was very easy and pleasant, she was awesome! We had an amazing time at the tasting, and ate more cake then than we did on the actual day (sadly!). We would definitely recommend them to our friends!

Our wedding day dessert table and cutting cake were delicious! I would completely recommend Sweet Cheeks to anyone wanting classic and different options to help make their desserts unique to them. We chose them so we could steer away from the popular cupcakes and did cake shooters, pop tarts on a stick, bomb diggities (MUST TRY), a small cake topper for cutting, chocolate covered strawberries and gluten free cookies. If only there had been more time for myself to eat more! The tasting meeting was wonderful, we were able to go over everything and see all options. I chose to use all of my own display pieces and had everything ready at the venue for the set up on the day of. It turned out beautiful and delicious. I would 100% recommend them!

Sweet Cheeks Baking Company made us the best wedding cake I could have ever imagined! My husband and I loved working with them from start to finish. Instead of giving us a sampling of 5-10 pre-set cake/filling pieces i.e. poppy seed with lemon and strawberry filling (which many bakeries do), they provided us with our choice of cake options and filling options that we could assemble in any combination our hearts desired and come up with 2 cake choices that worked best for us. After trying dozens and dozens of different flavor combinations, we chose a marble cake with Oreo and chocolate filling and also a layer of coconut cake with coconut and cream cheese filling. The cake was so delicious and so moist and we had so many guests asking for seconds!

While the taste blew us away, I was also over the moon about how beautiful the cake was and how it looked EXACTLY like what I was envisioning and asking for. While I was making the rounds at the reception, I must've asked half the guests, "Have you seen my cake?!" because I was so excited about how amazing it turned out.

We know there are a lot of cake vendors to choose from in San Diego, but you will not be disappointed with the taste, quality, aesthetic, professionalism and customer service from Sweet Cheeks!

We spared no expense for our wedding cakes, and went with what everyone told us was "the best". In my opinion, you don't gamble on anything anyone is going to be eating at your wedding! Worth every penny. We had a 3 tier cake for 65 guests, as well as a grooms cake I ordered as a surprise for my husband.

Our inquiry online was answered promptly, and our tasting scheduled just after New Years. The tasting was fun, and there are so many choices (all delicious). The staff stayed in touch with us, and was incredibly flexible on payments, etc. Our cakes were GORGEOUS and DELICIOUS. Everything I could have dreamed of. The grooms cake was so big that we had some the day after our wedding with a bunch of family members, my husband took half of the leftover to work with him, and we still have enough for 20 people in the fridge :) And we are still eating it ;)

I recently worked with Sweet Cheeks Baking Co. on a clients wedding cake for 8/22/15
Elaine from Sweet Cheeks met with myself and my client before the wedding to go over wedding cake design and flavors.
During our sit down tasting, Elaine explained each step clearly and make it easy for the client to understand how they work.
She also made a personal connection with the client to get to know her personality, and relationship with her fiancé to see if they could incorporate it into the cake detail. It ended up that the bride showed Elaine a photo of her wedding dress and she brilliantly took details from the dress and added them to the cake. Since the bride loved BLING, Elaine was sure to add that onto the cake AND the cake stand. The meeting went extremely well and the staff at Sweet Cheeks made myself and my client feel special and welcome into their work space. The day of the wedding I was there upon delivery of the cake. When they unwrapped the cake and displayed it, I was speechless. They did such an incredible job taking the details from photos of the brides dress and making it so uniquely theirs that it could not have been more perfect! It was stunning. Thank you Elaine and to your team for making this cake such a WOW factor at the wedding. Everyone was oohing and awing over the cake... and it tasted just as good as it looked! Sweet Cheeks gave us the wedding cake of our dreams, and it was delicious! The owner, Elaine was very helpful throughout the planning process and knew what combinations worked well with others, and had a tremendous knowledge on the way the cake should be structured. We told Elaine what we were thinking initially and she worked with us to get the design just right.

Then the fun part came.

Elaine sent us home with a variety of cakes, fillings, and icings to try out together. We put together a ranking chart, turned on some music, and popped open a bottle of champagne, then dug in. We tried all sorts of different combinations and had a blast finalizing each layer.

When we saw the cake on our wedding day, it was everything we thought it would be. Elaine nailed the design and it was perfect. Only down side is that we had 2 or 3 bites before we were dragged away for something else; but our guests said it was delicious.

Additionally, our wedding favors for our guests were two sugar cookies in the shape of a baseball bat, and a baseball jersey with our last name and lucky numbers on the back (my husband is a huge baseball fan). The cookies were delicious and looked even better. The design and attention to detail in the cake and the cookies were second to none.

If you haven’t signed anyone to make your cake yet, go with Sweet Cheeks! And even if you do have someone already, drop them and give Elaine a call!

We had such a wonderful experience working with Sweet Cheeks Bakery!! Not only do they make the most delicious cakes, but their staff (across the board) was fantastic. We set up a cake tasting months in advance with Lauren, and communicated a ton via email with her as we were having a destination wedding in La Jolla. Lauren was incredible. Elaine and her team are amazing!! One of the hardest decisions we made on vendors was our desserts - we could not find one we liked. Either we didn't like the desserts or we didn't like the price. Sweet Cheeks was perfect!! The desserts tasted so great and they were really reasonably priced!! When we decided to use them, we were still having a hard time deciding what we wanted - everything tasted so good!! There was a lot of back and fourth but Elaine was so great through all of it!! She helped us figure out what we would need based on our guest count (180), what we wanted to offer, the design we had envisioned and our budget. Sweet Cheeks was recommended by our wedding venue catering coordinator, Amber Kelly at The Catamaran Resort. We loved the cupcake display that sweet cheeks set up for our wedding on 10/11/14. We did the tasting when my sister was in town visiting and it was amazing! They give you a few different cake flavors and a few different fillings and frostings and let you mix and match the flavors yourself to come up with your favorite combinations. We chose to do cupcakes with a small cake to cut: banana cake with coconut frosting, lemon cake with lemon curd filling and cream cheese frosting, and vanilla sour cream cake with cinnamon frosting. They tasted awesome and looked adorable on various white milk glass and gold pedestals that they provided. They even added (for an extra fee) a cute Mr Met head peeking out the bottom of the cutting cake to represent my guy’s hometown baseball team. My husband asked me last night if we can order some more cupcakes from sweet cheeks or if they just do it for weddings. And he doesn’t even like sweets!

Sweet Cheeks did such an amazing job from start to finish. Prior to scheduling my appointment I told them that I am having a destination wedding so it would be difficult for me to have a follow up design appointment if necessary. They were very sweet about it and accommodated me; we were able to have both the cake tasting and design appointment in one.

Elaine is such an artist! When meeting with Elaine I explained to her how I wanted to incorporate the cake with my wedding. I brought in some of my stationary I designed and other details/pictures. She was able to take all my ideas, add a splash of Elaine, and sketch it out on the spot. I was so amazed on how she was able to tie everything together so beautifully. I had spent so many unsuccessful hours on pinterest and she was able to create my dream cake in minutes!

Their cakes are just as amazing. I picked a coconut cake with peanut butter mouse and chocolate gauche fillings. My husband picked a white chocolate cake with a pear butter cream. I have never been to a wedding where every piece cake had been eaten. So many of my guest commented that they had never seen or tasted such a great cake. My husband and I planned on eating the top tier the next morning for breakfast. When some of our family and friends found out we still had some cake they made a special visit that next morning and joined us.

I can't wait until our first anniversary so we can order a small cake to share! I just hope they are able to ship out of state... if not we might have to make a special trip :)

Elaine and Dana did such a wonderful job on our wedding cake - it was exactly what we wanted! Both the aesthetics of the cake and the taste were perfect. Our guests raved about how delicious the cake was and luckily there was enough left over for some people to have two slices! Our wedding was at the safari park and we wanted gold silhouettes of animals around the bottom tier. We also wanted one of our pixie bob cat Merlin, and it was so awesome seeing him hidden among the other animals! Can't wait to eat the top tier on our first anniversary (but it may be hard to fight the urge to eat it before then).

I LOVE this company! My contact was Lauren, so was so amazing to work with and get to know.

Comms: SC bakery was so easy to communicate with. You inquire at the site and I heard back almost immediately. I set up a tasting appt that allowed me to take my samples home taste with my fiancé who was out of town at the time. After we made decisions, they communication was perfect throughout and after the wedding.

Quality/variety: I'm a foodie and I love baked goods. We decided to not get candy and just have baked items. They were so delicious that they were completely gone by the end of the night. I had a small two-tier cake with 40 various cupcakes. They cake was so moist and delicious. The variety of fillings and frostings were incredible. You can mix and match, so if you would rather have salted caramel icing with marble cake versus chocolate, you can. So for one item I chose, the combo wasn't entirely the right case and Lauren provided great insight on that. Sometimes, you get so into tasting and combining that you need someone to give you honest feedback about what works for a summer wedding flavor, instead of a fall flavor. I appreciated that.

Creativity: Until I met Lauren, I never realized the creativity that is put into a cake. I used to think that you just decorated with those bags you squeezed and called it a day. Lauren opened my eyes to everything that is involved with creating a beautiful piece (because it photographed to death), from what it sets on, so how it is placed. She also advised me on flower placement that was helpful. I loved my cake table!!!! It was all thanks to Lauren though.

Cost: Honestly, I thought the cost was going to be crazy and it wasn't. She created a cake that fit my budget. There was no trying to talk me into something that I didn't want or need. She knew what I could spend and made it work.

Overall, this is a great company to work with. They are prompt, professional and talented bakers. Love them!

It was an absolute pleasure working with Elaine and Sweet Cheeks Bakery for my daughter 's wedding on June 1st in San Diego. Elaine was so very responsive, creative, artistic and delivered 100% in every way. She made my daughter's dream a reality transforming her words into a drawing and perfectly translated onto the cake beautifully delivered on the wedding day. And - the best part is that Elaine is so very friendly and SWEET herself. She listens and makes you feel that you are the only bride in the world "according to my daughter." The tasting and selection of tiers and fillings was fun and enjoyed by the whole family. As far as we are concerned and also the word from the guests is that Elaine and Sweet Cheeks Bakery is the most delicious bakery and choice for your wedding or any occasion. We will definitely be returning to Elaine for any and all future occasions. AAAAAA++++++ for sure!

Sweet Cheeks did a great job of putting together our cake and dessert buffet for our guests. Elaine really helped make my vision a reality and went the extra distance when I was unable to find a wine box for my cake stand by letting me borrow one from her neighbor!
Loved the take home tasting option and everything was delicious - we had a hard time deciding!

Working with Sweet Cheeks Baking Company was a complete joy! Elaine listened to what we wanted and created two beautiful cakes for us, one of which was a groom's cake and everyone kept it a surprise! We were able to taste test several flavors and fillings and create our own unique combinations. We also had yummy "bites" so our guests could sample several different delicious desserts. Their baking expertise and guidance was priceless and their goodies added to the "sweetness" of the evening!

We ordered cupcakes for our wedding and they turned out amazing! I would have never guessed that tiramisu would be one of our selections since we're big chocolate fans, but I ended up liking that one more than the chocolate! Laurel is great in helping me determine what frostings pair well with what, and the presentation was gorgeous. I would recommend them to anyone!

Sweet Cheeks Baking Company was recommended to me by the restaurant where we held our wedding reception. Best recommendation ever! I first talked with Laurel who was extremely friendly and helpful. We needed regular, gluten free, and vegan options for our small group of 20 and she helped me to decide on a two layer cake (one regular layer, one gluten free) and cupcakes. She also recommended the pumpkin flavor for the gluten free layer and that was delicious. (The red velvet was very good too. We got both with almond buttercream). When I shared that I really liked cakes with layers/textures, Laurel recommended going with a textured cake that would give the same look with MUCH less cost than separate fondant layers. We looked at pictures together from the website and I sent a few that really captured what I loved. When I arrived to the reception I was floored. The cake looked EXACTLY like the dream cake I requested, including out of season flowers in the perfect colors! We also rented a cake stand that was perfect for the cake. We had a small, family only wedding but I really wanted the cake to be special and Sweet Cheeks Baking Company was the perfect choice. So many people comment on the cake when looking at the wedding pictures. It was truly my favorite decorative element of the entire day and it tasted delicious too :)

Sweet cheeks is the best! It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Elaine when I went in to discuss what we wanted for our wedding cake. I had a slight idea what I wanted but with Elaine's creativity and amazing talent, she drew me out a picture from what I was describing and it was perfect! What an artist this woman is! The whole Sweet Cheeks team was very professional and throughout the process I felt like they were truly excited for us. We also were so surprised at the variety of cake, filling, & frosting favors! Awesome choices! They were so genuine and showed this by their great work, and the cake was so tasty and beautiful as well. I would highly recommend Sweet Cheeks!

Though it’s not done often out here on the West Coast, I wanted to get my husband a surprise Groom’s cake for our wedding! I have a friend in the industry, and she said that Sweet Cheeks was the best place for me – I am so happy I listened!

My contact via e-mail was Kristy, and she was prompt, specific, and courteous, which were all things I was looking for in a vendor. I had very specific design ideas, and after Kristy helped me understand pricing, she scheduled me to come in for a tasting.

Choosing to hire Sweet Cheeks Bakery is the easy part – the only complicated part is deciding on flavors! I met with Elaine, who is charming and amazingly helpful. She even sketched out my Pac Man and Ms. Pac Man design (using a variety of colored pencils), and took very specific notes to ensure the bakers and designers understood my wishes. She even gave me the excellent idea of using books in lieu of a cake plate! I chose some well-known financial and leadership books from home that really described my husband, and they made for a colorful, personal addition to the presentation.

After much tasting and deliberation, I selected the Vanilla Bean Sour Cream cake, with a filling of Cinnamon Spiced Cream Cheese, and the Pistachio Butter Cream Frosting (which is very subtle). I cannot recommend the Cinnamon Spiced Cream Cheese enough – it definitely MADE the cake, and added such a wonderful flavor.

The ladies at Sweet Cheeks were an absolute joy to work with, and their product was simply incredible. Everyone at our wedding loved looking at the “Pac Man Cake,” though only a select few got to try it. ;)

This bakery is absolutely worth the money – give them a shot, you will be so glad you did!

We found Sweet Cheeks by happenstance after not being very wowed by a previous bakery. They were included in our Bahia Resort package and we ended up meeting Donna and Elaine at the Bahia vendor showcase. I'm so glad we did!

Sweet Cheeks makes such amazing baked goods and they use natural products that aren't over the top sweet, which I was worried about for our cake. We had a beautiful red and white cake but Sweet Cheeks really shined with their talents for making one of a kind themed cakes. We asked for a Battlestar Galactica emblem Groom's cake and they knocked it out of the park. It was so good, my husband didn't want to eat it even to this day! I'm definitely ordering some more goods from Sweet Cheeks as they have online ordering via their site. Definitely recommended!

We found Sweet Cheeks through our venue and I'm so happy we picked them! The cake was scrumptious, with hints of fudge and peanut butter my husband's favorite. The bakers were so lovely and helpful, always getting back to us with our questions within a day. And they made the process so easy! We just had to go in for the cake-tasting, which was delicious and fun, and then it was all taken care of! Yummy yummy!!

Since I planned my wedding from abroad, I wasn't able to do the cake tasting. But Sweet Cheeks Baking were very flexible - they allowed my friends to do the tasting and filmed a video so that we understood how everything worked.

We went for the classic cake with almond buttercream and mango curd and also for the chocolate cake with pistachio buttercream. The cake was stunning and tasty.

When returning the cake stand, I met the team in person and they were all very lovely!

I went to a few places to check out cakes prior to our April wedding and the tasting at Sweet Cheeks blew away the competition out of the water! Kristy was amazing to work with and extremely flexible to dream up a design that fit our theme and was personalized. We met with Sweet Cheeks to talk about our vision for our beach wedding, not really having an idea about what we wanted. After looking through their albums of cake designs, we weren't able to find exactly what we were looking for. So we went into a brainstorming session with one of the owners, Elaine, and she was quickly able to sketch out something that we liked. We decided that since we were having our wedding and reception at the beach, we wanted to go with a cake that had a wave going up the side of it. We showed Elaine a picture of the wave we were using for our wedding invitations and she created a design that complimented our theme.

They sent us home with numerous different samples of cake, filling, and frosting, to see what would appeal to us. Quite honestly, they were all so good it was a tough choice! We decided to go with a 3 tiered cake, with 3 different flavors of cake and filling in each tier. She created a cake that was truly a work of art and the taste was divine. We made it even more challenging because we had our own cake topper that was a bit on the heavy side, yet they were able to accommodate us. We received so many compliments at our reception about how tasty and beautiful our cake was and we were so pleased with the final product. We highly recommend Sweet Cheeks Baking Company for any event where you would like a unique and delicious cake!

They created an delicious cupcake tower with a large cupcake on top that we cut into. They were easy to work with, delievered everything on time and everyone enjoyed the cupcakes! Highly recomend them!!!

Elaine is a design wizard.I told her about the cake I wanted and she immediately drew me a picture.
We had tried many good wedding cakes but Sweet Cheeks was excellent.We chose Vanilla Bean and the other layers were coconut with coconut cream.

The staff at Sweet Cheeks made our cupcake tower at our wedding in La Jolla...let me say that all 5 flavors (yes, they were THAT good, I couldn't just choose 3!) were the best tasting cupcakes I have ever had! Our guests really enjoyed them as well and we had leftovers to send back with people too! I am still hearing about how great they were and it's been a couple of months since our wedding. The staff is very responsive, friendly and easy to work with. We got exactly what we wanted and more! Thanks, ladies!

These girls are PERFECT in every way! for starters, they are some of the sweetest people you will encounter during the wedding planning process! They are INCREDIBLE!! they also do some amazing work! Often times, you must choose between beautiful or delicious...not at sweet cheeks! They design your cake however you wish (be forewarned, they are some of the most talented people out there with amazing ideas...so to an extent you might wasn't to leave some of the creativity to them) and then you get to pick your flavors(that's the hardest part, they are all delicious!!) You will not be disappointed! Most of our guests needed more than one piece of cake (many tried every flavor). It was the most beautiful cake and the most delicious cake ever! They even took the time to write our personalized vows in tiny writing on our cake (im sure that was a lot of work). They are so wonderful. We will be returning for all of our cake needs until forever..they are that good!

Sweet cheeks is Amazing and Yummy.. My consult with them went very well and they created my vision. I was in tears Seeing my cake for the first time at the reception. It was sooooo beautiful. My wedding venue included a wedding cake as part of their package and gave us a choice of 3 different bakeries. My husband and I went to all three, did the tastings, and sat down with each one. Out of all of them, we liked Sweet Cheeks Baking Co the best! Not only did their cake taste amazing, but the whole team seemed extremely experienced, professional, and willing to go above and beyond to make their customers happy. On that first meeting we sat down with Elaine and she sketched out a beautiful design for us that fit our vision exactly. We signed the agreement then and there!

I know some companies seem like they stop caring after you sign a contract with them, but Sweet Cheeks continued their great customer service the whole way through. They never disappointed! Kristy continued to have fantastic communication with us (I would email her and she would always respond right away). On the day of our wedding, the cake looked exactly like the sketch Elaine had drawn for us... which just goes to show you what a great team of decorators and bakers they have as well. The cake tasted absolutely delicious too! They also saved the top tier for us (which I had forgotten to ask about) which is now stored in our freezer. Can't wait to try the cake again on our one year anniversary.

Overall, I can't say enough good things about them. I would absolutely recommend them 100% Thank you to everyone at Sweet Cheeks Baking Company for helping make our day spectacular!

Kristy and Elaine were awesome to work with! The cake looked and tasted AMAZING! Everyone was talking about how good the cake tasted. We ordered a red velvet and pumpkin spice cake. The colors and decorations on the cake were perfect and it looking stunning! If you have a wedding or special event, Sweet Cheeks is the way to go!

I have food allergies so I was nervous about getting my wedding cake. The team at Sweet Cheeks made the most delicious, gorgeous wedding cake for us. It was Gluten Free on top and regular for the rest of the guests on the bottom. Everyone kept saying how much they loved it! Our family ended up eating over the next couple of days after the wedding. It was too good for it to go to waste.
