San Diego Wedding - Florist Review

Whether you are a floral perfectionist or have no clue as to what your vision should be for your wedding, Sue will make sure you're completely satisfied.

I met with Sue in person and talked through what I thought I wanted but also knew the difficulty with normal florist quotes and trying to stick to a budget while still being happy with the result. I did not micro-manage Sue and I trusted she would do a great job. On my wedding day, Sue showed up ready to go. She was professional, on time, and executed a flawless atmosphere. My guests were astonished by how beautiful my centerpieces were. I envisioned having beta fish in my vases as my husband and I are water polo players and Sue helped bring that to life.

I can't thank her enough for using her knowledge and skill set for my wedding and at the end of the day, you can only ask for a fair price and job well done. I would refer her 100x over because I'm confident in her work.

Suzan M Florals exceeded my expectations! My ceremony, reception, centerpieces, belly bars, and my bouquets were to die for! She did an amazing job.
I am a more visual person which made planning difficult because I wanted to be able to explain what I wanted and hope that it came off correctly. Sue was a huge help when it came to this. Sometimes even drawing it out on a pad of paper to make it clear to me.
In addition, she has very professional photo albums with all her work from each year. This was very impressive because many people resort to Pinterest or Google and say that they can create that look, but Sue really can and has the photos to prove it.
The arrangements were beautiful and were exactly what I had hoped for. My bouquet and the bridesmaid’s bouquet were full and beautiful. I loved every piece and still are in Aww of how beautiful and how well they complimented my venue. Thank you Sue!

Sue absolutely made my dreams come true with her beautiful floral designs! I had a very specific look in mind and she managed to capture it so perfectly...I am still day-dreaming about it! Beyond that, I was especially grateful for her accessibility. She would speak with me via call or text regularly and really helped come alongside me during the entire planning process. She is extremely knowledgable in all-things-wedding, and played a big role in helping me map out my entire theme and decorations, far beyond just the florals. She is really what helped me pull everything together...and the wedding was gorgeous! 5 stars!

Sue Merrill is absolutely amazing to work with and would recommend her to any bride who wants a worry-free perfect wedding, and needs someone to work with that will ensure the planning process and wedding day to turn out to be an exceptional experience and the day you always hoped for. Sue did an AMAZING job at my wedding at The Crossings in Carlsbad. When I met her for our initial consult I knew she would deliver a beautiful wedding. She has so much energy and passion for what she does. Every time we would meet I would leave our meetings even more excited. I knew nothing about flowers, she was able to help guide me through picking the best type of flowers for my budget. She did such an awesome job from the ceremony decoration, bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces to cake decorations. When first seeing my bouquet my jaw dropped it was so beautiful. All my guests couldn't stop raving about all the gorgeous flowers through out the venue. I highly recommend Sue to everyone. She will make your dream wedding come true.

Suzan not only listened and worked with my DIY ideas she took them to a whole other level. Suzan has an incredible eye and imagination. Her work is beautiful. Upon walking into the ballroom for the first time on my wedding day, I cried.

My husband and I both work in the entertainment industry and have been fortunate enough to attend award shows and red carpet events, I know I am biased but our ballroom looked straight out of a magazine. Suzan met our high expectations and then some. I am so glad we were able to work with her. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone planning a wedding or event.

She also kept me in the loop as to what was going on the day of the wedding when my Coordinators phone could not get service at our wedding venue. That spoke volumes to me, and really helped me relax and enjoy my day.

Sue designed the flowers for our May 2015 wedding at Scripps Seaside Forum. She was able to look at my small “flowers” pinterest page and immediately know exactly what style I was going for. She went way overboard with both the bridal/bridesmaids bouquets and the centerpieces, they were much bigger than what we had discussed and they looked amazing! We got so many compliments and people kept commenting on how unique everything looked. Thanks Sue!

We were referred to Sue through a friend who raved about what a phenomenal job she did at her wedding. I have to say, I'm so glad we went with Sue! From the very first time we met with her we knew that she understood our vision and would be the right person to bring it to life. From the beginning Sue was really nice. We organized everything from abroad and with two phone calls and a couple of pictures she understood perfectly what we want for our wedding. The wedding day she was punctual and detail caring as a great florist should be. We loved her work!!

Sue is a gem to work with. She is the complete package. Organized, business savvy and knows her flowers and how to advise you. If you know what you want-it is easy. If you need some guidance and advise, Sue is an expert. She knows her flowers and colors. We wanted the room to pop and Sue even helped us on tablecloth choices. She is there for you and will work with whatever your needs are. She is always available and really understood our preferences. She was one of the only flower vendors to suggest magnetic corsages for the grandmas and a hospice donation after the reception. Sue has it down and is a true joy to work with.

I found out about Suzan M. Florals through a "recommended vendor list" from the Crossings (wedding venue). Sue made my wedding absolutely beautiful. Suzanne came highly recommended to me by my mother-in-law and friends. She has done countless wedding for friends and family and she always does the most beautiful, above and beyond job. She's sweet as can be and makes you feel very calm and at ease -- which is always a nice sensation as a bride planning her own wedding. She is very professional and always quick to respond to emails and texts. I recall my first meeting with Sue and she came prepared with photos, her laptop, an iPad, photo books, and magazines to help get the ideas flowing. I'm embarrassed to say that pre-wedding, I had not the slightest clue what some types of flowers are called. I used to differentiate them by their colors and the shapes of their petals. Sue came to the rescue and would google pictures for me so that I knew exactly what she was talking about and the colors she was recommending. She even had me stop by Home Depot to spot out some paint chips of colors that I could like my flowers to come in -- Brilliant! The day of our wedding, we had a grand reveal of our dining area post-cocktail hour. I remember just feeling so overwhelmed with how gorgeous the flowers looked. Our sweethearts table was bustling with flowers cascading down in front and the colors created the perfect contrast with the linens, accents, and up-lights. The flowers were perfect in every way and I have Sue to thank.

Sue did my Daughter's wedding six years ago at Toscana in Palm Desert! She did the most amazimg job!
My son got married a few weeks ago at The Immaculata and the reception at The Scripps Forum, Sue also did their flowers!
The colors of the flowers in the bouquets and on the table arrangements were over the top gorgeous! Various light creams with corals and sea greens.
Our guests are still talking about what a great job Sue did on the flowers for both weddings!
I would not hesitate to use Sue for your wedding! She gets what your needs are and stays within your budget!
I wish I had a another child getting married so we could use her again for a wedding!
I will always refer Sue to anyone who is planning a wedding!!

I first contacted Sue about two months before my wedding. When I met her, I knew immediately that she was going to be the selection for my florist. Sue is easy-going, creative, and professional. After answering a few of her questions, she understood what I wanted in terms of style, flower types, and arrangements. She made recommendations in areas that I had not considered. Her team who delivered and set up the floral arrangements were friendly, professional, and on time. The end result was an aesthetically beautiful and elegant touch to our event. Suzan was so great to work with! I was not a local bride and she made it easy to get all the details over email/phone. My vision of white only flowers was created perfectly and a lot more reasonably priced than other florists I interviewed. All of the floral arrangements were better than I could have ever imagined. I cried when my maid of honor handed me my bouquet. It was absolutely gorgeous! Sue did a spectacular job wrapping the bouquet base with the piece of fabric from my mother's wedding dress. I really appreciate all of the hard work Sue put into my wedding and how flexible she was with me during our second meeting when I made some changes to cut down on the cost! Suzan created the flowers for my recent wedding in Carlsbad, California this past April. There are not enough words to describe what an amazing job she did! Sue was beyond phenomenal!!! She was so willing to work with me and find out exactly what I wanted and I barely had to give her any direction for her to quickly catch onto exactly what I was going for. The flowers were incredible...seriously inspired and creative. I loved how they were unique and didn't just look like your typical arrangements. I also have to mention how amazing she was the day of the wedding. She got there early to setup and even jumped in to pin the boutonnieres (that I had made myself - she didn't even bring them!!) onto the guys when we were stressed because we were running behind. Annnnd she came back the next day to pickup all of the vases she had rented to me so I didn't have to worry about it as we headed off for our honeymoon.

Sue Merrill was the florist and day of co-ordinator for my daughter's wedding at the Rancho Bernardo Inn last September. Her flowers were gorgeous and exactly what my daughter had envisioned. Sue has a very creative touch to her work and the flowers were beautiful and unique. Everyone said they were amazing! She also worked the day of to make my daughter's dream wedding come true. As the co-ordinator, she took care of the dozens of little details that made everything run smoothly. Sue did an amazing job on our wedding. I have had person after person tell us it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to and a large part of that was because we made flowers the focal point. Sue looked at our decor and gave us her thoughts on how she could incorporate the flowers into our space, venue and decor. From the aisle to the hanging pieces added to the ceremony site where we said our I Dos, every detail was gorgeous. She listened to out requests, gave advice and showed us options for our budget. I would hire her over again.

I don't even know where to start. I have zero knowledge in flower types, bouquets, arrangements, etc. I found Sue on my venue's (The Crossings at Carlsbad) preferred vendors list. She was the first and last florist I looked into. Her portfolios spoke for themselves. Her work is unbelievable.

My wedding was in July and I'm still hearing from people how beautiful my flowers were and how they made the wedding. There isn't a single thing I would have changed. Not a single thing. Everything was so beautiful and perfect. I can never thank Sue enough for making my wedding so gorgeous and perfect. The flowers were and still are my favorite part of my wedding. The colors, the textures, the choices she made in which flowers to use...she has impeccable taste. I can't say it enough...everything was absolutely PERFECT. She understood and made my vision a reality.

I'm referring everyone I know planning a wedding and I recommend going with whatever she suggests during your meetings. She has a natural gift that will make your event one to remember, by all.

We could not be happier with Sue's work for our wedding. The flowers were gorgeous and bountiful, and the arrangements were tasteful and exactly what we wanted. She asked all the right questions and found what we were looking for, which we didn't even exactly know.

Because I had a small wedding, i needed someone who was reasonable in price but who still provided original creative flower design for my bouquet and centerpieces. Sue created a beautiful bouquet with the colors I asked for! She was true to her word on delivery time and was prompt with her emails.
The flowers were fresh and arrived in perfect condition. She even threw in some white rosé petals!

I can't say enough great things about Sue and her work.

Ten days before getting married, the florist I'd been working with flaked and stopped answering emails and phone calls. Although we were planning a small affair, it was still really important to me that my bouquet looked EXACTLY like a picture I'd pulled off The Knot right after getting engaged. I first spoke with Sue on a Tuesday at 9am (she picked up on the first ring -- love that!!), sent her my pictures and heard back from her 20 minutes later, when she let me know she'd already checked with her supplier, and getting all the flowers for the following Friday wedding would be a piece of cake.

Sue ended up creating my bouquet, smaller versions for two attendants, and a few other small items, such as an orchid for my hair. Everything was delivered to the hotel exactly on time, and the bouquets were far more beautiful than I could have ever imagined -- and even more amazing than the bouquet photo I'd been staring at for nearly a year.

Sue is a true pro: quick to respond to emails, prompt with deliveries and unbelievably talented with her designs. Sue, thank you for saving the day! I can't wait to work with you again.

Suzan created the most beautiful bouquets and centerpieces for my wedding. She listened to what I wanted, but also gave her professional opinion, which was extremely helpful for someone like me who does not know very much about flowers. I told her that I wanted pops of bright colors like pinks and corals and big beautiful peonies and she accomplished it beautifully, incorporating other flowers and colors that meshed well. She had great ideas and vision and she was very willing to work with me on my budget. I had met with other florists who would come back $1000-1500 over budget and Suzan stuck with my numbers almost to a T. My flowers were better than I could have imagined and I continue to get compliments on them. I HIGHLY recommend Suzan!!

I could not be more impressed with Sue! We found her by default and are so happy we did as she is amazing. Sue allows you to create your vision and then refines it by her experience of what will look the best. She is a true visionary! I could not believe how beautiful our arrangements were; some of our guests thought the flowers were fake as they were so perfect. We could not be happier!

I am so glad I hired Sue to be wedding florist. I had no idea what I wanted or knew anything about flowers but she worked patiently and very closely with me. Words cant explain how I felt when I walked into my wedding venue. The flowers were absolutely beautiful they were more than what I imagined they would look like. Everyone was impressed with the flowers and complimented on them the whole night. I recommend Sue to every couple! She is talented!

Sue did an AMAZING job with our flowers for our beach ceremony and reception. She is very personable and gave us everything we asked for and more! She even helped us with our wishing tree by decorating it and putting it together. The flowers were the most beautiful arrangements I have ever seen and made my wedding day extra special. I would ABSOLUTELY reccommend Sue to all couples, especially those doing a destination wedding like ours! Thanks, Sue!!

It was so easy to work with Suzan and being an out-of-town bride, that's what I needed! I have no idea about flowers; I just knew what colors I wanted and went from there. We wanted something simple to go with our simple wedding and beach theme. We met once at her place, I showed her a few bouquets that I liked (all from her designs I have to say) and she took it and ran with it! I do want to mention that I didn't have her do any centerpieces for me. I made my own to save money. The moment I will always remember is when her assistant arrived with all the bouquets, my mom broke down in tears instantly! You will love working with Suzan and absolutely love the results!

Suzan was absolutely amazing. I had such a wonderful time working with Sue. She is incredibly warm, patient, and so easy to work with. She had phenomenal concepts for flower design yet was also incredibly receptive to my ideas, including adjusting our floral plan throughout the wedding process.

Her execution was amazing. The flowers at the wedding were absolutely beautiful, and I couldn't have asked for anything more. The ceremony, reception, cocktail hours flowers were all exceptional and unique. And, she created an amazing flower arrangement on the cake that we used instead of cake decorations.

I would highly recommend Suzan to anyone who is looking for a florist for a wedding or any event!

Sue is a dream come true! Let me start by saying I had be imagining my wedding for about 3 years and during the three years, I had any magazine you could think of and pulling photos of things I liked, dis liked, kinda liked, and so on. I met with Sue about a year before the wedding day and pretty much overwhelmed her with photos. I had an idea in my head and was hoping that with all these ideas, she would be able to see what we wanted. She is a sweet heart and so fun to chat with so my husband and I could not wait to meet with her again when it got closer to the wedding. This time, still a ton of ideas were brought to the table, and we really began to nail down a design. It was amazing as she took the details and was on the same page as us! I was delighted and we were so excited for the wedding day to see what she would come up with. I wanted elegant, chic, modern with just a touch of the beach. OH MY WORD, she delivered! EVERYTHING from my bouquet (I cried when I saw the beauty of it), the ceremony (gorgeous), to cocktail hour (unbelievable), to the reception (makes me speechless). Sue is an angel that was able to see right into my heart and know what my dream wedding looked like. I keep looking at the photos of our wedding and I have to pinch myself! Sue created this dream and I just cannot even say enough! It was amazing. She is incredible and it was an honor to be able to have her create what I can only describe as perfection! On a daily basis, I get phone calls, emails, and texts from our guests saying it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended! I feel like words cannot describe what she was able to do for us! If you tell her what you want, she can achieve it, not a problem! She was able to see what we wanted and just add and add on to it like it was all just a fluid motion. Seriously, our wedding was Platinum Wedding status after Sue put her touch on it. I cannot say enough about how incredible and what a true artiest Sue is! Thank you so much Sue! You and your team are just amazing!

Sue's work is simply beyond compare. She is incredibly talented and has an amazing eye, and her knowledge of floral design and creative ideas are incredible.

I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by how beautiful the flowers looked at our wedding!! So many people complimented me, and it made the room and the ceremony site look elegant, timeless, amazing. It honestly took my breath away when I walked in the reception room.

Sue was not the least expensive florist, but I feel like the value was exceptional! It seemed like every last penny must have went to the flowers themselves, because there were so many, they were of such high quality and it was so beautiful. I could not have been more pleased.

I highly recommend Suzan M. Florist to every bride.

Our San Diego wedding was absolutely beautiful thanks to Sue Merrill of Suzan M Florals.

My situation was unique for several reasons.
• We live in the Kansas City area but decided to have our wedding in San Diego when my son returned from deployment.
• My husband and I are “almost” senior citizens.
• And…. I didn’t know anyone except my son in San Diego.
So…. I started out with a clean slate. I researched different floral designers on the internet, and became more and more discouraged. They were all so expensive and their designs were really stuffy. Our wedding, being a destination wedding was small; so huge, elaborate, showy designs weren’t something we wanted.

I started assembling a team of wonderful artisans. And… Sue was suggested by our Wedding Officiator.
Wow!! I can’t say enough positive things about Sue. She is easy to talk to… can take an idea and “make it happen” and was reasonable. She even made an artificial copy of my bouquet for me to take home. Having to fly back to Kansas City I knew the flowers wouldn’t survive. I couldn’t believe she could create my every dream…. but she did that and MORE!

Sue did an absolutely amazing job with our wedding. I 100% recommend her. From our first conversation, she was very easy to work with and very friendly. You can tell that she loves what she does, and she does a great job!

My wedding was outdoors at a big private estate, so it was quite a task to make the space look full and beautiful with the flower budget that I had. I had a vision of what I wanted and communicated it to her, but she really made my vision come to life with her creative touch.

The center pieces were stunning, and the bouquets were my absolute favorite part of all of the decor. They were stunning and matched the bridesmaid dresses perfectly! My ceremony was down by a lake under a bunch of beautiful willow trees, and Sue turned that space into a whimsical, gorgeous setting. She decorated the tree we stood in front of with flowers, crystals, pom balls, and ribbons. It was stunning. If you are looking for someone to help create a unique, beautiful ceremony space for you, Sue is the best!

Sue is also very reasonable with her prices, and you will get a lot for your money. I interviewed most of the top florists in the city when I was searching for my florist, and by far, Sue was the best for the money. Many other florists were asking twice what Sue charged for a very similar result. Overall, she was excellent, and I very highly recommend her!

I wasn't a bride who thought I cared about flowers. I had been directed to Suzan by a friend who had a friend that used her, so I set up a meeting. Just minutes in to our meeting, she seemed to really be in tune with us, and although we had no idea about flowers... she got to know US and our tastes - and honestly never thought we'd be as excited about our flowers as we were once our day came!

I was SO very lucky to have found Sue! She completely got my vision for florals for our wedding and worked with a limited budget. She gave us a lot of guidanace on what would work best, what was in season, etc and gave us some fantastic suggestions. No kidding, Suzan is amazing. My daughter's wedding flowers far exceeded our expectations! The freshness, and color, and fullness just made the room and the photos come alive. I've been to so many weddings and couldn't tell you what the table flowers looked like. Months later, I'm still hearing from family members about these amazing flowers! Suzan gave great care to meet my daughter's vision, there were extra touches in how her bouquet and nosegays etc. were wrapped with coordinating ribbons, and she stayed on site until everything was perfect! And she made the planning process a breeze with brilliant suggestions and creative solutions to help us to save money!!!

Suzan is fantastic, if you go with her you won't be sorry. I was planning my San Diego wedding from New York so I couldn't do a consultation with Suzan in person, but she did a phone consultation with me which was just fine. She got a quote to me very quickly, much faster than other vendors I was working with. When the quote was a little high for me she helped me trim it down to something I could afford; I really appreciated her flexibility. On the wedding day the flowers were GORGEOUS. I had no idea what I wanted so I gave her a pretty vague description and some color swatches, and boy did she come through, everyone commented on how gorgeous the flowers were. One last thing, I had cut petals out of my order from her for the flower girls to sprinkle down the aisle, just as a way to cut cost. Sue had done a wedding the day before and brought the leftover petals with her for me! It was so thoguhtful of her, and saved me a last minute trip to Safeway to pick up some petals. Sue is wonderful, I really lucked out!

I could not have picked a better florist! My flowers were breathtaking! I used mostly orchids and roses in bright colors (hot pinks, orange, yellow, and touches of white.) All of my centerpieces were beautiful and Sue helped me create three different styles. She also created a beautiful ceremony arbor for my Suset Cliffs wedding location. The best part of Sue is that she is attentive to detail and goes above and beyond just floral to make everything perfect. She had many great ideas for my decor. She also took time with me and my Mom during meetings and made us feel like part of her family. I highly highly recommend Suzan M Florals!

Our flowers were AWESOME! I had them done by Suzan Merrill of SuzanMflorals.com. She was so easy to work with and came up with some great and very creative suggestions that made the ceremony spot look gorgeous! The arbor at Wiens Family Cellars was covered in curly willow and Sue wove red roses into it and hung a few roses and crystals from the top beam so they were sort of dripping down. My description is not doing it justice, but it was really really pretty. Our bouquets were the most beautiful red roses and mine had some white mini orchids in it. She did a great job making the ribbons wrapping my bouquet just the opposite of my bridesmaids' bouquets, and it really pulled everything together. My groom's boutonniere and all the moms' flowers were simple and pretty, and the sweetheart table was very elegantly put together. I had heard from our coordinator that Sue, unlike most other florists, stays and helps with or oversees all the set up on the day of your wedding, and pays meticulous attention to detail- and she was most definitely right! I just loved working with her because I knew I wouldn't have to worry about a thing! Sue and her assistant Jenny helped with the setup and even took down the arbor decorations after the ceremony and pictures, and reused a lot of the arrangements for the reception. I was in good hands having them stay and take care of so many of the details! I can't recommend her more!

Let me tell you a little bit about my floral fiasco--UNTIL I WAS BLESSED TO GET IN TOUCH with Sue Merrill from Suzan M Florals.

My initial approach was to take the economical route and go through a local Wholesaler. It was an absolute nightmare to get them to provide me with a contract, and it was even more impossible have my phone calls returned. So, then I decided to utilize my Officiant to handle the ceremony, wedding set-up AND the flowers, out of convenience. She had prior commitments and was unable to make my bouquets for my wedding, so she referred me to Suzan M Florals. I was a little bit nervous to call because I was only looking for my bridal and bridesmaid bouquets and the guys' bouts and from dealing with prior florists, they are generally reluctant to take on "small" orders. When I first contacted Sue, I was suprised that she was incredibly friendly, professional, and down to earth. She encouraged me to share my vision and it was quite obvious that she knew what she was talking about. She was quick to put together an ACCURATE quote. Any time I had a question about flowers for my hair, changing my bouquet flowers, etc, she was quick to respond. I never had a problem reaching her via email or the phone. She promised to have my flowers delivered by a certain time on my wedding day, and she even gave me a courtesy call to see if it was okay if she came a little earlier. When she arrived, she made sure to review my order and that I was satisfied with her work...Even though our actual encounter was brief, she put my mind at ease along the way, that I knew there wouldn't be any issues on my BIG DAY. If you are looking for someone who is easy to reach, flexible, reasonable and open-minded, Suzan M Florals is definitely the florist for you! Thanks again, Sue :)

Sue was an absolute delight to work with & her designs are simply breath-taking. She took the time to meet with my husband and I regarding what we imagined our dream wedding to look like and then worked within our budget guidelines. Suzanne did an AMAZING job on the flowers for our wedding! I can't stop looking at pictures of my bouquet, it was BEAUTIFUL and the centerpieces were equally stunning. So glad we decided to use her as our florist!

We were sooo happy with our flowers! Sue is amazing! She is extremely nice and so helpful (especially since I don't know anything about flowers). She is very prompt when replying to emails. The flowers and colors she used were perfect for me! Her website gives you a good representation of the quality and style you will get. She is very flexible and will work with you to reduce costs. Our total came out to $2500 (incl. chuppah) for 140 guests. This was higher than I wanted to spend, but it was well worth it. When people see our album, they all comments on the stunning flowers. One thing to note is that she keeps the vases afterwards, so it's a little tricky to make sure nobody runs off with them at the end. I would suggest asking a family member to keep an eye on them. Anyway, I would highly recommend Sue to anybody getting married in San Diego.

she was absolutely great. She is a small business so you get personal attention and her flowers were beautiful. She was on time and took the time to pin all the boutineers on, used my personal ribbon to match the colors and was flexible with pricing.

They did a beautiful job with the flowers at our wedding. Not only were the arrangements and the arbor gorgeous, but she helped put together the tables when my wedding planner really underestimated the preparation time. She stayed until the wedding was ready to go even though her job was complete. All the bouquets and everything was of excellent quality..

Sue was fantastic to work with from start to finish. First of all, she really put the time in to understand my vision for the wedding and share her creative ideas for building on that vision. She was able to take my ideas to another level while respecting specific details which were important to me. When the big day arrived, the flowers were even more beautiful than I could have imagined! Working with Sue is a great value because with these flowers you hardly need any other decorations! My guests are still raving about how beautiful they were.

Finding a florist was the most challenging part of wedding planning for us. Thank GOODNESS we found Suzan!!! I had talked to many florists before finally an angel sent Suzan my way. Every other florist seemed flakey, disorganized, OUTRAGEOUSLY priced, it was bad all over. We were just about ready to give up and buy some flowers at the farmers market when I sent Suzan an email and she called me within ten minutes. She was WITH IT, professional, honest, organized, friendly, I felt like she really listened to me, so we set up an in person meeting for the following weekend. We met at her house to discuss the details of what we were looking for. One thing I really love about Suzan is you can tell she is super passionate about what she does and she will strive to get your flowers JUST RIGHT. Which surely is not an easy task, especially with someone like me who knows nothing about flowers! I scoured the internet for pictures of what I wanted and really wasn't able to find anything. I explained to Suzan that I wanted ALL THE COLORS and I wanted it to feel tropical! Our subtle/unofficial theme was Havana because my husband is Cuban. After meeting with Suzan we knew we had finally (after literally 6 months of searching) found our florist! Holy crap did she KNOCK IT OUT OF THE PARK!!! Our flowers were everything I could have dreamed of and more. Suzan took my mile long emails, conversations from our meeting, and Pinterest board and blended it all together to make my dream flowers into a reality. She literally NAILED IT. I will let the photos speak for themselves, but basically, Suzan is a flower rockstar. She is a true artist (but without the flakiness that seemed to come along with the other florists). She isn't the cheapest, but she also isn't the most expensive (and she is up front about that). My only regret is leaving the country 72 hours after our wedding because I wish we had got to enjoy the flowers longer!!! Our guests took them home though :)

I interviewed 4-5 florists before I decided on Suzan M. Florals. I liked her style and felt that she would be able to help carry out my vision. I wasn't sure exactly what type of flowers I wanted. She knows a lot about flowers and took the time to introduce some to me and make suggestions. I like that she took the time to understand the feel I wanted for the wedding (and which flowers I did not want). Some months into the planning I changed the color ideas that I had originally picked. We also had to cut flowers from the church due to our budget. I used Pinterest and shared some pictures from there with her. Using her style, the ideas we talked about, and the pictures Sue did a great job. When the wedding arrived I could not stop looking at the gorgeous, romantic, garden style centerpieces. I loved them. I wanted to take them home. I'm sure our guests were fighting over them at the end of the night.

The centerpieces, bridal party and bridal bouquets, boutonnières, chair markers, and arch flowers were stunning. I was impressed with her work and her willingness to work with my budget. I told her what I was offered by Wholesale Flowers and she gave me a better deal, with better quality flowers. She is very experienced and knows her stuff, which was evident in the final product. She also suggested two single flowers for each mom, which was a nice touch. She was also punctual with the flowers for pictures and was fairly good about responding to my emails. On the down side, she miscalculated the total price in the contract twice, and I noticed at the wedding she did not decorate the cake the way we requested and she did not include florets on each napkin as dictated in the agreement. Once I pointed these things out via email (post-wedding), however, she explained that she ran out of flowers because of the heat that day. Overall, she does a really nice job and I recommend her services for any special day.

I had 6 bridesmaids and I didn't want to spend too much on each of their simple bouqets, so I cut the value from the $50 each recommended by her to $35 each and they ended up being perfect, so she didn't slight me becasue of the reduction. She's straightforward and really knows her flowers. She can be a bit disorganized at times. I did have to answer a few questions repeatedly, but she asked for the answers when necessary and got the job done. I think she's an excellent florist and would highly recommend her services.

Sue has great taste and did a beautiful job with our flowers. I picked her because with your florist you need to have trust in their taste, and I truly did - I think she's got great taste and knows what looks good
In particular, she knows what she is talking about in terms of color. I was a bit concerned as my bridesmaid dresses were a jade / teal, and we were going to do pinks, purples and oranges, which seemed like it might be overkill, but Sue was right that it would work - especially against the dresses, the flowers / bouquets looked AMAZING. It was truly one of the highlights of the wedding for me to see how great the colors looked together.
She is flexible with her pricing, but certainly not cheap (as she will tell you - she says she's neither a "bargain" nor at the top in terms of pricing). I did end up cutting a number of things from her proposal in order to make things more affordable. HOWEVER, I did also feel that these cuts were noticeable. While our ceremony decor was beautiful, I felt the space looked a little sparse. So I guess just beware that if you make cuts, it may make a difference.
