Above and beyond
I can’t even express how amazing Susan is. The day was hectic and we had a MILLION family members to photograph, not to mention the schedule got thrown off because the venue gave my husband gluten and he’s celiac! She has an amazing presence and is so easy to work with, and her work just speaks for itself it’s incredible. And you’d think such amazing work would take forever to edit but she gave us our sneak peak the NEXT DAY!!! I can’t sing her praises highly enough. -

Susan is an incredible artist and storyteller through photos! She creates magical images, and is also just a blast to work with and have around for engagement and wedding pictures. Having her with my family and friends, she felt like part of the bridal party-- I love her story and how she communicates on the website and in email. She is the real deal- we're lucky to have worked with her. She is incredibly generous and down to earth for someone with such an artistic eye. Her turnaround was incredibly quick, and the images are once-in-a-lifetime! -

We LOVE Susan’s style: dramatic, ephemeral, and so playful. As creatives ourselves, we wanted a photographer who did more than just capture our wedding; she made ART that is timeless and unforgettable. But don’t be intimidated, she’s one of the most down-to-earth, professional, and delightful people I’ve ever met. We had so much fun with her and was honored to have her as our photographer. -

Search no further!
Susan is a talent beyond your wildest dreams! She and her staff have captured 2 weddings for us and we just love her photojournalistic approach. She has won multiple awards and has been recognized as a Grand Master of WPPII (there are only 7 in the world!) When she is with you, you feel not only her love for what she does, but she treats every bride and groom (and their families) as if you are a part of her family. The end result is magnificent! We hired Susan to be the photographer at our wedding and it was one of the best vendor decisions that we made! You can tell by her instagram that she has a great eye for interesting lighting and amazing pictures, but the thing that isn't obvious is how funny and sweet she is! Susan kept my husband and I laughing throughout the night and we never once got tired of posing for pictures. She spent time looking for the best locations at the venue for staged pictures and managed to capture the best candid moments as well. Choosing our favorite pictures was the most difficult part of working with her since every picture was even better than the last! Every person we show the pictures too can't believe what an amazing photographer she is. We can't wait to make our album and would HIGHLY recommend Susan for anyone's special day! -

Susan photographed my sister's wedding several years ago. After seeing how comfortable my sister was working with her, and how beautiful her photos were, there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted Susan to photograph my own wedding this year down in the Bahamas. Turns out this was the BEST DECISION I could have made!!! Susan is warm, bubbly and enthusiastic, which makes the whole process of being under a camera lens (which can sometimes be intimidating) relaxed and enjoyable. More importantly, I was not only beyond happy with the final photos, I was also surprised, and in the best way possible! Once the wedding started, I did not once feel like I was being hounded with cameras, or that time with my friends and family was interrupted by a photographer swarming us. In fact, once the party started, I didn’t even see Susan! Yet there are COUNTLESS photos of everyone enjoying themselves throughout the entire night, and numerous images that capture intimate moments shared between me and my husband that we now have preserved forever. Susan was 100% present without being invasive, a sign of excellence in a photographer. We truly cannot thank Susan and her team enough. My husband and I (and our guests!!!) cannot stop raving about these beautiful images that so perfectly portray every visual and emotional aspect of our wedding. -

Susan is a dream. Hire her now. Seriously, take my word for it and just do it. I feel like the luckiest bride in the world to have had her as a part of our day. First of all, she’s a photography genius (no seriously, google her awards and accolades- she’s a genius). Second, she is the most lovely human to have around you on your wedding day. And while that may seem secondary in choice of photographers- it’s a huge factor. She was with me from the moment I put my makeup on to the second I drove away with my new husband. And she made us feel comfortable, made us smile, laugh and also never made us feel on display. She captured beautiful candid images of us and our family and friends, while also (very quickly and efficiently) making beautiful portraits for us. We love absolutely every image she created, she kept us on schedule allowing us to have some alone time before our reception, and she returned images to us SO quickly. She answered every question I had big or small leading up to our wedding day incredibly quickly. I could go on for days about how much I love Susan and her work- but chat with her, look at her gallery and see for yourself! -

Susan Stripling is a sensational photographer.
She has brilliant artistic vision and creativity, and the technical genius to make it work. Susan is also a very lovely person to work with. She and her two colleagues photographed our son's wedding day, from getting ready in the morning to the last dance of the evening. The photographers were everywhere, yet very discreet. They were full of energy and enthusiasm, yet very calm. What a marvelous decision it was to have Susan as our wedding photographer!
While our two families planned the wedding, I forwarded Susan's website to our son, his fiancée, and her parents with a comment: "Fasten your seat belts for this one!" SusanStripling.com is dazzling to look at, and helpful to read. Her extraordinary talent, her buttoned-up professionalism, and her warm personality are reflected in her website. Susan has the process of wedding photography down to an art, of course, but also to a science. She has vast experience, and is well organized, so we knew the wedding day would proceed smoothly and the photographs would be spectacular. And they are! WOW is a word used by everyone who sees them.

Kimberly Sent on 09/12/2018Susan & Sandra were amazing to work with for the entire time leading up to, day of, and after our wedding day. Leading up to the wedding Susan was the most in touch vendor we dealt with, checking in on me and how I was doing every step of the way, even beyond just photography. Her survey covered every question of what we were looking for out of our photos for the day, and Sandra had our responses with her on the day of to make sure everything we asked for was covered. We had only met Susan and Sandra in person at our wedding day, and they were so personable and amazing to work with. My husband and I, as well as our families, were so comfortable with them that our pictures really portray no one even realizing they were there. Our wedding photos are filled with pure emotion, happiness, smiles, tears and attitude, that was an exact capture of our day. We received our photos back within a few weeks, which we were too excited for, and we were blown away. Susan & Sandra were still in touch and extremely responsive to ensure we were beyond happy, even editing faces, squints, and blinks to make sure we had photos where everyone looked their best. If you are considering Susan look no further. Your wedding photos will perfectly capture the emotion and fun of your day that you can relive forever. Thank you Susan!

Kelly Sent on 11/16/2012I LOVE Susan. I cannot even begin to express how extremely happy I am with my photos already, and I have only seen a handful as I haven't gotten them all back yet. But what I have seen makes me jump up and down with giddiness, they are so beautiful. She is a true artist and sees the most creative and beautiful things through her lens. American Photo has named her one of the best for 2012 and it's no surprise why, she's brilliant. She aims to please and will get that epic shot of your day, and then some. I'm considering hiring her for another bridal concept shoot in the spring! -

Carrie Sent on 10/14/2010No words could rival Susan's pictures (but I'll take a feeble stab at it)! For starters, she was incredibly responsive, fun to work with, super flexible, absolutely tireless (I actually think she climbed on a billboard to get the perfect shot of our rooftop dinner!), and more than fair on pricing. Then there are the pictures. . . to say they are stylish, classy, unique, stunning, or perfect would be a total understatement. They look like a Vogue-produced coffee table book of the hottest wedding around, yet somehow still captured every emotion, every tender moment, and every detail. Every single member of the wedding party, without exception, said these were the best pictures of themselves they'd ever seen, and my husband immediately changed his facebook profile to one of Susan's pictures. My only concern is how on earth I'm going to display all of the photos I love! -

stressed photographer, terrible barn lighting
Susan is a well respected and revered vendor in her field. She does get some incredible shots that are beautiful and filled with emotion . All of these reasons are why I hired her. With that said, she left a lot of be desired on the day of our wedding. She seemed very nice and sweet over the phone, but come the day of she seemed stressed and yelled at her very nice assistant A LOT. She loves kids and got some beautiful shots of my nieces and nephews, but I definitely heard her grumbling about there being too many people in the bridal suite when my sisters and sister-in-laws were watching me finish getting ready. It was a happy moment and I didnt need to hear that, especially when its the wedding photographers job to get the good pic despite there being people in the way. She is incredibly expensive (ahem - dare i say, overpriced) and will not work within your budget, but I figured you get what you pay for... And she WILL get you some incredibly beautiful shots and many of the traditional wedding type pictures, especially her outdoor photography and I cant argue that the way she catches the light is gorgeous. However the lighting she used in the reception barn was incredibly harsh (they has this huge umbrella looking pole that her assistant was forced to carry around - so ugly) . It was so bad that I had to have her team re-edit them, which she politely did with no extra charge to me. Though the final product was better, it was definitely not what I had envisioned. I wanted soft and glowing , which is exactly how the lighting was in the barn and how it looked in the video; this was not how my pics came out, even after editing. I ended up editing most of them myself with an app on my iphone (See picture). In general she was very intrusive the day of the wedding (which is exactly what you do NOT want a vendor to be), and as a result she is in many of photos my friends took and in much of the professional video footage. She also did not get any good pictures of my husband and I at the end of night in our traditional outfits and of the blessing ceremony we do in our culture. This was an important moment, but there is not even ONE good printable picture of my husband and I from that ceremony. (I had to take screen grabs from the video trailer in order to get as proper pic) . All that money spent and it didnt even include an album. I do NOT think she was the right fit for us or that venue. I'd say save your money and get 2 or even 3 shooters for what you'd pay for Susan. -
