After purchasing my dress at RK Bridal in NYC, I wanted to find someone local and reliable to do the alterations. I am so grateful to have found Susan, as she made the fitting process a breeze. My dress was strapless, but was altered so well that I didn't have to pull it up ONCE throughout the day. It fit me like a glove, but was still comfortable. Susan made a lot of intelligent suggestions about bustling and hemming, and everything came out beautifully. I can't say enough about Susan and her services! Stress free and reasonable!

A week before I had to leave to my destination wedding in Mexico (from NJ), I realized that my seamstress had butchered my dress. Luckily, I had heard from past brides (I also work in the wedding industry), that Susan Perrone is phenomenal. A week before my trip, I called Susan Perrone Couture in a panic and left a long-winded voicemail. I'm pretty sure I was in tears and a little devastated when I left it. Within half an hour, Susan called me back. While on the phone with her, she had me send pictures of my dress, and gave me tons of helpful information and reassured me that if my dress was not working out with the other seamstress, to take it straight to her and that she'd help however she could. I am not kidding when I say, she was my angel in disguise. I ran to her with my dress that day. She took the dress that had been damaged, and repaired it in the best way that she could. She rearranged her entire schedule, to make sure I felt great walking down the aisle. I cannot thank her and her team enough. I remember our last appointment (the day before i left to Mexico), when I tried on the dress and all the stress was lifted off of my shoulders. I literally cried happy tears. What a wonderful company, owner, and group of ladies at this place. I plan on going to Susan for any and all of my future work.

I found Susan by sheer lucky googling and am SO glad I did. I got married a few weeks ago and had been working with Susan on my wedding dress for the months leading up to the big day. Not only did she do a gorgeous job on my dress but I looked forward to seeing her at all my appointments because she was such a lovely person. I couldn't have been happier with how my dress looked and she made the process so easy and honestly, fun! Thank you Susan!!!

Susan was a pleasure to work with, and was one of the only people in the area that would hem my chantilly lace dress. She did an excellent job and after a series of about three separate fittings, the dress looked perfect. She gave me a super cute little bridal survival kit at the end and came in special hours to accommodate my crazy schedule. Would highly recommend her, especially for anyone with a more complicated dress!

I contacted Susan Perrone 12 days before my wedding in a panic. I had picked up my wedding dress from another tailor and was NOT happy with the final fit. It seems they had maxed out their abilities and said the only way to fix my dress was massive reconstruction that would leave ugly seams in it. I was distraught but decided to get a second opinion. I found Susan Perrone thanks to reviews like this one. She emailed me back within a couple of hours, fit me in the next morning and managed to have my dress done and perfect within five days. It's beautiful! I couldn't be happier. They were all so lovely and professional. I couldn't recommend them more.

Had my wedding dress altered at Susan Perrone. She is AMAZING. So attentive and talented. She and Mona were great and let me come back a few times until everything was perfect. My mom, sister and mother in law also had their alterations done here and could not have been happier!! Would recommend to anyone!!

Ok, if you live in northern NJ, you MUST go to Susan for your wedding dress alterations. Susan really knows what she's doing and really takes care of you to make sure that your dress is 100% perfect for the big day. I was worried about having my size 10 sample taken in due to the complicated beading (FYI I'm a street size 0), but Susan did a marvelous job and my dress looks like it was made to fit me from the get go. I referred another friend to Susan Perrone Couture and she was happy with her results as well. Susan and her assistant Mona are so nice and caring that they will help take all your wedding worries away!

It was such a pleasure to work with Susan and Mona on the alterations of my wedding dress. I had bought my dress in Canada and needed to find someone to do alterations in NJ, I didn't know anyone but found Susan Perrone online and I'm so thankful I did! She did amazing work on my gown and was always reassuring that everything would come out perfectly, and it did! I felt so beautiful on my day and I owe that to the wonderful women at Susan Perrone Couture! They also sell beautiful accessories, I got a faux-fur wrap and 2 hair pieces, which Susan creatively sewed one of the hair pieces into the wrap as a broach, turned out stunning! Highly recommend this shop!

Susan Perrone is the most sweetest and talented seamstress. I am so glad I went to her to get my dress alters. She gave me a lot of good advice and listened to all my concerns about my dress and took care of them right away. She made my dress a million times more beautiful than what it looked like when i first brought it into her. I will definitely go back to her with all my other dress alteration needs in the future. She also makes custom dresses!

Susan Perrone fitted and tailored my dress from Bridal Reflections. She also creates dresses from the beginning, but she helped shorten and form fitted my dress so that my silhouette was beautiful for my wedding. She helped me add a slip I was comfortable with and loops for my undergarments so there was no slippage. She also added the bustling for dancing all night.

I can't say enough good things about Susan. I had my civil wedding in 2010 and my church wedding in 2013. In 2010 I had a highly respected seamstress in Midtown, NY work on my dress. What a disaster. Not only was it hundreds of dollars, but the bottom was all uneven and I was stepping on the dress. So here we are 2013 and I am 4 sizes smaller and I have this mess of a dress, the top half entirely made of Chantilly lace from France and the bottom is French Silk. It was only two months till my wedding. Susan absolutely transformed the dress. It fit me like it was made for me. I also had a tear in my lace, Susan knew EXACTLY what to do... I could not find where the tear was after Susan worked on it. Every part of that dress had to be altered. Susan had even said it would have been easier to make the dress from scratch, and i'm sure she was right! Susan never lost her patience, if it wasn't right, it was done again until I was happy. Poor Susan, I had her change that dress at least three times... we removed sashes, bones, the horsehair rim around the bottom. Like I said, we worked on that dress till it was right and I was happy... we redid the hem, Susan remade the strapless top inside so it laid flat and flattered my figure. Something wasn't right with the dress and Susan could see it, so she adjusted the back seam around the back completely and took it in. I could go on and on, but honestly there isn't anything Susan can't do in my opinion because she had to do it to my dress! Susan, I can't thank you enough. I felt like a princess! I'm very grateful to you and thankful for all your hard work!

Before my wedding, I had never had any kind of alternations done, so I had no idea where to begin to find a seamstress and get my dress ready, especially since it seems like most people don't review their alternations vendor. Luckily I found Susan just a few miles from my apartment and she was wonderful!

Her hours made it really easy for me to accommodate all of my fittings into my schedule and she even has a late night once a week. My dress had a sheer back and Susan even had some bustiers already in her shop, so if you don't have a tough size like I do, you can proababyl even get all of your undergarments with her too. (If not, and you're in the tri-state area, I Highly recommend Bra Tenders in NYC) Plus, she's got a great selection of jewelry and bags, and she even makes veils.

Once we got started, she had lots of solutions to really tailor my dress to my specific needs, building up the sides of my slip to keep my bra covered and adding lots of fastenings and stuff to keep everything in place. Susan was also really great with all of my requests and suggestions and never made me feel like anything was too much trouble.

The whole experience was really great and her whole team made me feel so welcomed every time I went in. For anyone that does go, I found out at my last fitting that she has a parking lot in the back, which I wish I'd known from the beginning, but it wasn't a big deal.

My alterations were $475 for my dress which was two pieces, a silk slip with a beaded English tulle overlay. The sides of the slip were built up a bit, the straps on each piece were brought up, snaps and such were added to keep my bustier in place, a hem was cut and the whole thing was packaged up at the end for easy travel. She also came to the rescue with a really pretty and inventive bustle idea when I needed it even tough I was originally very anti-bustle. I'd definitely recommend her to anyone in the area.

    WARNING TO FUTURE BRIDES:
I have NEVER written a bad review about a vendor but I have to warn future brides about this shop. Never was it told me that there is a $50 consultation fee just to MEET with Susan and it is only included with her price if you decide to go with her (her minimum for all dress alterations is $550-RIDICULOUS). Although I was told to arrive early I had to wait 20 minutes while she was out getting fresh air. Then once we entered the shop she had to call her husband before helping me - completely unprofessional. Once we started the appointment I felt like I was in a used car shop. Susan and her assistant Mona kept recommending me to buy this bustier, or this bra - it was overwhelming. It wasn't until she told me that she would have to break the beads on my dress (because it has lots of beading) in order to take it in that I realized she wasn't a true seamstress. She should have offered to do it by hand because why would you ever put a beaded dress under a sewing machine! When my mom asked about doing it by hand, Susan said it would be $75 an hour for labor - what the heck am I paying you $550 for?! I left the shop in tears. It was a horrible experience. GO TO A REAL TAILOR PEOPLE!! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!

    Susan Perrone Couture's reply:

    Kimberly

It is unfortunate that you didn't give us a chance to make your gown
perfect for your special day. You seem to be caught up with the cost of quality
workmanship. Everything we discussed would have been included, from fittings to steaming, with the exception of additional beading, which could have
possibly been avoided. It was clearly evident that the purpose of your
appointment was to give your Mother, Janet P., consultation on how she could do the alterations on your dress, since she was a self proclaimed seamstress.
Consultation fees are normal procedure for professional advise. Good luck with
    your wedding.
